Cementing themselves as a key player within the UK circuit and beyond, Midlands based discotech look to release the fifth slice of wax on their vinyl imprint. Heading up the release is golden era tech house tastemaker, Jay Tripwire with three original cuts, whilst Alex Arnout features with an unreal remix. The world of two legends meet as this one looks to quickly become an essential record for your bag this summer.

Kicking things off with a killer wonked out groove is “Jaybee Loves Old Shit”, a nostalgic nod to the early noughties, punchy drum patterns combining with a cruising bass line, perfect party starting sounds from one of the finest do it. “For Nathan” sees Tripwire assert his animated vibe once more, liquid-like emotions pouring out the seams but still maintaining a distinct drive.

As we hit the B side the title track begins to lean into more tripped out territory, sub heavy wobbling bass lines conversing with the crisp broken minimalistic drums. Intelligently arranged as each and every detail is placed intricately to create a hypnotic tension. Rounding off the EP is Alex Arnout’s remix of “The Omen”. Dropping it on its head as he crafts a more direct version of the track, utilising the transcending vocals and allowing them to converse with the elasticated groove.

Discotech continues on their upward trajectory with this versatile EP, simultaneously with their highly anticipated events going hand in hand with the extensive catalogue of the label, whether that be vinyl or their digital offshoot.

My Own Jupiter is run by Uruguayan expats Nicolas and Edurne Lutz, the former a respected DJ on the Berlin circuit affiliated with Sleepers, Toi Toi Musik and Club Der Visionaere. He here presents a four-disc vinyl package from homeboy Franco Digregorius, which follows up Australian producer Little Nobody's prior release. Said to be compiled from productions spanning the last decade, the album covers several variations on the electro sound but often delivered in rather inventive formats and with some funny titles. There's some aquatic electro funk stylings on "Ladyes & Gentelman From Montevideo Underground", the hilariously dark George W. Bush sampling "Mind Traveller" and the very hypnotic 13 minute long epic "Brain Washing".

After the release of DISSIDÆNCE Episode 1, warmly met with both critical and popular success, Vitalic keeps his promise and returns with a second instalment, darker and more techno than the first, and this time with a marked industrial aesthetic - cold and minimal. The composition and production style have a post-cold wave heritage, something that has always been part of the artist's DNA but is now brandished with renewed pride.

DISSIDÆNCE Episode 2 opens with Sirens, a towering tornado of synths and sweat, followed by Dancing in the Street, The Void and Light is a Train, sparse techno boiled down to its essence - mechanical, cold and alarming. Tempering this hostility are moments of grace and poetry like Marching, Friends & Foes and Winter is Coming, both melodic and melancholic.

A two-pronged project masterfully orchestrated by Vitalic, a strange cosmic voyage of implacable energy.

When Fred sent me the demos for his first release I remember being compelled to shut off all the lights and listen to them in complete darkness at full volume. I’m not sure why his music makes me want to do that but when he sent me this next batch I found myself needing to repeat the same process.

The Tonja Holma name has been around for over a decade now, but no song has ever been released under it, that is all about to change as Prydz releases the first ever EP under this alias, LTD copies.

Having previously released music via Soundway Records and Five Easy Pieces, South London based producer XOA (AKA Nick Tyson) caught the ears of Gilles Peterson, DJ Mag, Boiler Room, Red Bull, XLR8R (and more) with his use of rich analogue sonics, steeped in the electronic sounds of London’s musical underbelly, blending vibrant textures and cosmic melodies, melding afrobeat and jazz sensibilities with house and techno.

Re-emerging last year with a new direction and meaning: hard hitting Jazz with big analogue electronic sounds, along with a four-person outfit (which features Tyson (Bass & Electronics) joined by Johnny Tomlinson (Synths / Fender Rhodes), Josh Arcoleo (Tenor Saxophone) and Joost Hendrickx (Drums). Their previous release ‘Program Change', took the listener on a warp-speed kaleidoscopic journey through space and time, and gained support from Jamz Supernova, Gilles Peterson, Clash, Bolting Bits & more.

Forthcoming release ‘After Burner’ gives a fuel injection to the outfit, elevating XOA’s music to new and dizzying heights. From the rich tones of lift-off of the intro ‘Drawing Light’, through the intricately composed textures of ‘Invisible Shapes’ to the driving and pulsating title track ‘After Burner’; culminating in the vast and contemplative finale of ‘Final Ascent’

Feeding on their collaborative energy of four musicians going hell for leather, XOA have created an urgent and enthralling sound - one which perfectly captures the lightning-rod tenacity of their live performances. Grenoble based label Sekhem returns with a brand new VA gathering french talents. This time, Charlou, Saonore, Clementuu and SSD (Sea Side Department) are in charge of this 3rd release filled with oldschool techno, acid and trance accents.

RADIAL RECORDS has been Cosmin and Lizz's idea for many years and finally the moment to make it alive has come. Our aim especially for the first releases will be to release our own productions.

Mark Grusane's latest offering, A House of My Own is a testament to his long-standing discipleship to the craft of producing hard-hitting house tracks with authenticity and depth. The title-bearing opener on A1 strongly demonstrates this notion with a slew of raw bass stabs and emotive pads leading through a battery of driven percussion in a manner that calls to mind those early 90's Mr. Fingers records. While A2's Essence of Life (Afterhours Mix) takes us further into the darkness with a spiraling timber of percussions lain over distorted vocal arrangements, the "Daytime Mix" of A3 builds on the momentum of its predecessor with a robust uplifting synth lead and sounds of atmospheric ambiance added to the mixture, effectively taking the composition to an entirely new level. B1 kicks off punching and swinging with the track Knock knock, Who's there?, a ferocious gut-puncher of a track that sees classic Chicago "beat-track" style 909 arrangements lay over an intense saturated 303 bassline that relentlessly worms its way throughout the mix with a booming urgency. B2 sees a turn for the naughty on the track Love And Lust with a xxx-rated vocal line slithering its way through the track, sandwiched in between high-pitched keys and a slinky drumline. Finally, Jack Your Ass Off closes out the album and ties it all together on B3 showcasing the full-fledged insanity of the classic trademark Chicago "jack" style that sees the title of the track frantically screamed over and over though a sampler amid hard hitting drums and 303s engineered to make you dance like a freak. A serious 'must have' for any selector or music enthusiast.

Analog Concept adds a premium 6th entry to the label catalogue from Russia's electro and acid connoisseur, the always talented Low Tape. Liquid, Seamless, and Lush is the order of the atmosphere in the aptly titled Lost Heaven EP. The title track Lost Heaven is a refreshing audio journey filled with smooth electro rhythms, sparkling acid leads and basslines, and therapeutic pads pushing the groove and cerebral modes to the max. The remix from veteran producer John Beltran is just as fun with his take on the story, including some silky hats and snares, mind nourishing synths, and a confident acid bassline for a good time. The track has a very interesting ending.


Flip over on the B side to continue the fun ride with Cosmic Tides- a spacy and tasty dish of old school Detroit flavor featuring sharp arps of insight, basslines of funk, and dynamic atmospheres seamlessly fusing classy techno and ambient.


The finale of the ep is in fine fashion with the kick-driven electro rhythms and blue water-reflecting sky melodies of Magnetic Resonance- an energetic track with an aquatic vibe, moody personality, and breezy pads- perfect for a Saturday out domain or the Brain.

I was dancing when I was out, I was dancing when I was in. Is it strange to dance so late? Is it strange to dance so soon? Cosmic dancers always ball. Dancing with themselves, dancing space away. Right into the smallest hole a human brain can create: the inner cosmos, a psychedelic region, where time gets space and space turns to haze.

Berlin based producer TM Solver is such a kind of cosmic dancer. He has danced late. And so soon. Since 2008 he released yearly one, sometimes two albums via the German Berlin School dedicated label Syngate and its experimental subdivision Luna. Intensely meandering synthesizer journey music, that is pirouetting on inner universes, genuinely crafted in the tradition of Berlin School and Krautrock. You can catch the unearthly nuances of Can and the spaciously swinging psychedelic corners of Amon Dül, Embryo, Tangerine Dream, or Klaus Schulze. As TM Solver has been a lover of analog synthesizers for almost 30 years, all pulsates on analogue sound orbs under the zigzagging guidance of machines like Moog Prodegy, Korg MS20 and GRP A4, as well as state-of-the-art systems as ASM Hydrasynth and Korg Wavestate. When he got in touch with the Berlin club scene and all its propelling grooves in 2006, a new rhythmic universe joined his vast musical space of sound latitudes. “Tinkering around with sound structures is my thing. Leading the listener into a combination of music and sound spaces.“ he reveals on his emotive musical art. How affecting it works, is now displayed with four epic compositions for R.i.O., Berlin Wedding’s label of novel ways for caved rhythmic patterns. Grooving between 90 to 240 BPM, they offer a vast variety of emotional landscapes, slowing down, rolling up, drifting into genuinely layered tonality magic. Headspace music for vigilant wanderers. Utterly psychedelic and yet so clear. His R.i.O. debut “Subtraktiv Additiv“ comes with five additional remixes, fashioned by R.i.O. conspirator Benedikt Frey, Amsterdam based DJ and producer Mayo, “Die Orakel” magician O-Wells from Frankfurt, Siamese Twin Records co-runner Sunju Hargun, and the versatile club and beyond production duo Red Axes. London/Florida based Red Ant label owner Pete Bones presents his 3rd solo artist album, and first to appear on vinyl. Bones, infamous for his 90s Ugly Bug moniker 'The Shaker', and responsible for the club classics Just Lick It, Strong to Survive and Mooncat, has refined his creative output over the years and is now synonymous for his eclectic but unmistakable dark disco and indie house production and DJ sets worldwide.

Recorded entirely during Lockdown, the 7 track LP spans Bones' ubiquitous electronic styles, encompassing some deep nu-disco grooves and indie jams along with some more serious tech-house dancefloor intention. Released November 2020, on what would have been the start of a US wide album release tour, Bone Idyll kicks off with the luscious 5th on Fifth, a mid-tempo Sunrise special, then goes more party vibe with the bouncy Tinderella. She Sells Sea Shells is a more languid melancholic groove, reminiscent of late sunny evenings on a Balearic beach, and the A side is finished off with Squarecrow, the toughest cut on the album, warehouse vibes.

The B side opens with the fabulous Chinook Sister, indie dance homage to the indigenous tribes of the N Pacific islands, slides into the growling downtempo Revelation, featuring the sublime percussive talent of Patrick Dawes, former Groove Armada beats maker. The album is finished off with Bones' remix of the Talking Heads classic, Psycho Killer. Causing mayhem on many a live stream dancefloor this Autumn!

In a secret laboratory in an unknown location, two lifeforms not of this world were at work.

Based on previous experiments, it was understood that when the two life forms were left alone together, they could create various elements from nothing, somehow communicating with each other what was needed through a sophisticated type of Internal Transmission.

As scientists watched and took notes, the lifeforms sat on the floor across from each other. They did not talk. They did not move. They simply sat, doing the impossible. The atmosphere began to transform and one lifeform produced Gold, Arsenic, Carbon, and Radium. Almost simultaneously, the other conjured up Oxygen, Mercury, Nitrogen, and Neon.

The elements swirled in the air until they finally combined. The result was astonishing. It was the exact same compound the lifeforms had been discovered with when they crash landed on Earth some 22 months before. A compound never seen before.

Gamine strikes back with the fourth release, this time by Signal Corps, a duo consisting of Tom Butcher and Mike Perkowitz. Stepping between the nicer side of electro and punchy new beat, this solid five-tracker is a serious tool for dancefloors and afterhours. Groovy rhythmic arps and beautiful acidic melodies are combined to produce the perfect blend between old-school flavour and contemporary effectiveness.

In the post-apocalyptic world of JTEKKEN 3, life as we know it has almost disappeared. Not so long ago, was an electric and violent atmosphere, full with the sweat of dancing bodies and the scent of alcool and other substances. This world is now dead. The horrible Covidos boss has wiped it out with the back of its clawed hand and has placed the rare survivors under his yoke. Turned into slaves, they only survive as shadows who disappear at night with the last rays of the sun…
But! A handful of heroes is refusing to let the world in the hands of Covidos and has decided to fight for the rescue of the planet. They compete against each other in a final mortal kombat in order to select the one who will have the honor to stand up to Covidos in a final showdown to end its evil reign. On May 20th On Rotation returns for their first VA release - Genetic Memories Vol. 1.

Anderson opens the release with the mystical ‘Polymorphic Magic’ - a low-slung builder combining deep synths with sampled instrumentation. 

“I’m a huge fan of self resonating / overtone instruments so using the Fujara was a no brainer. A naturally psychedelic sounding instrument, I wanted to accompany the flutey pipe with a deeper and low-mid tempo chug.” - Anderson

Next up is Musty Head Records main man Jamie Leather - combining the tight drums and skilful melodic work of his previous releases with all the influences we love, ‘Discovery’ is sure to get any party going.

Leading the B-Side of the record is Ed Hodge's ‘Atreides’ - a tough yet playful banger drawing influences from across the spectrum of UK music. Gun fingers guaranteed!

Closing the release, we speed things up and travel deep into the past with Phazma's ‘Arrakeen’. Featuring ethereal synths, driving rhythms and beefy low end, this floaty number works just as well at home as in the club - a perfect way to round off the EP!

Lanark Artefax releases a new EP titled ‘Corra Linn’ on 24th October via Numbers, l-a-n-a-r-k. net .

It is the Scottish producer’s first solo output since his breakout record on Whities in 2017, which included the ethereal ‘Touch Absence’. The three-track EP arrives after last year’s remix of Björk and an extensive period touring his internationally acclaimed live A/V show.

Recorded sometime in the last year and a half, the three tracks across ‘Corra Linn’ materialise like a cascading data flow; combining lazer sharp digital synths and hyperspatial sound design with scaled up, spine-tingling choral melodies, time-refracted field recordings and ethereal childlike vocal arrangements.

The EP’s title track, ‘Corra Linn’, takes its name from a waterfall in the Lanark area of Scotland, the water of which flows into one of the oldest hydro-electric power stations in the UK. The artwork accompanying the EP is a photomicrographic image of Lanarkite; a rare and precious mineral form. Almost all significant occurrences of Lanarkite were discovered deep within the Leadhills in South Lanarkshire, but it is said that an unknown, but large, quantity of it was once unearthed at the base of Corra Linn waterfall.
