House Vinyl New Releases - News

Following the great response of their first release, London-based label OTHERTONES have pushed the boundaries once more with another exciting set of productions. This time the task falls to Antony Difrancesco and his Latency EP to continue the label's rise in acclaim and respect.

An artist that has steadily built up his reputation as one of the most promising talents on the underground circuit, Antony is here free to showcase the true range of his expertise. 'Jam' is a prime example of the depth of his influences, infusing the traditional house blueprint with an intangible air of ambience. On Side B, 'Dimplex' offers further proof of this and, in keeping with the ethics of the label, is complete with a remix from the ever-elegant and highly respected Vera.

Another showcase of the sound that has become synonymous with the label, Latency is an EP that is rooted in the underground whilst still creating a sound firmly embedded in the future.

Live at Robert Johnson get on a roll. Here's the next excellent release filled with thrilling House music.
The Citizen's Band's second instalment for Ramona's favourite label hollows their long lasting love affair. Christian Beiss-
wenger's (CB Funk, one half of Arto Mwambe) is nothing less than dealing with the demise of an empire. 'Broken Rome' is
a codeine trip through early Nu Groove rave tracks as well as an ode to Junior Vasquez at the helm of the Sound Factory
seen and heard through frosted glass. 'Densed' on the other hand tips its toes into the current deep house stream with an
Arto-Mwambe-like hook and a thumping bass line. The spaces in-between those rudiments are taken up by the idm finger
exercise and jewel that is 'Into': Ottoman dancing!

Cadenza herdsman Luciano welcomes another amazing musician to the label´s illustrious gang of house producers. Having released a series of striking records on Berlin´s Vakant, Tolgas music flows seamlessly into Cadenzas vanguard club sound.

moves, comes with an Acappella version for brave DJs and a serious Flutramental on top of it all for the faint at heart.

Please meet Simon Haydo, one of the key players in Stockholm's true school techno scene. A debut ep on Pär Grindvik's Stockholm LTD in 2008 and a mid-00's residency at legendary underground party Kruthuset was followed by a few years of cold, mysterious silence, which then suddenly and violently ended with the formation of Simon's DEM label in early 2013. Seven brilliant DEM releases later, Simon delivers his Studio Barnhus debut - the four-track ep I Watch Them All As They Fall. These fierce & fresh Haydo jams represent the very finest in MS20-induced techno hypnosis and make a perfect addition to the ever expanding Barnhus catalogue.

Sensual welcomes on board Markus Sommer & Phil Evans for their debut on a limited 10 inch record.
"Strange Advise" uses a stout breakbeat pattern and a cosmic melody with a deep flavour thanks largely
to the bassline while the b side continues with a melodic content.

rapturous, lovely and brilliantly hand picked: the 7th instalment of the i'm starting to feel ok' compilation serial is once again tremendous. it features diverse grooving music on two cds and two vinyl eps that stands out.

tunes full of funk that dance with styles like house, techno, jazz, soul, cosmic, disco, electronic and beyond without strictly aligning to a pure definition of a genre. it is also not a truly party-hearty compilation in the first place. instead all the featured music wants to catch deep listeners who like to explore the multiple possibilities of a track while dancing along to it, too.

mule musiq and endless flight head-honcho toshiya kawasaki made sure that the quality is high-flying and selected all touching crown jewels from known artists like frank & tony, oskar offermann or fred p and promising newcomers like nicolai toma, snacks or johannes klingebiel sensitive and associated.

cd 1 lift-off with an exclusive get-down-deep boogie house gem by gifted japanese producer sauce81. it's followed by prins thomas's rainbow disco' - already released with a big applause on endless flight in early 2015. thenceforth house calls the tune with the dub stepper mother nature' by strategy that gets replaced by eddie c and his flute driven flying blue' tune taken from his solaris' ep on endless flight.

more funk infected sounds follow as brooklyn's finest dj and producer jacques renault delivers with don't need to know' a real deep and fine crafted tune with a pulsating bass and blissful key melodies.

after a great rolling arrangement by lord of the isles full of wonky bass power and dry drum beats that djs like rebolledo love to play, some newcomers get room to spread their talent. rubini from italy shows his gift as a producer for dark atmospheres with a warm analogue swing.

also nicolai toma and musk - both featured with tracks that seen the light of the day already via eps on endless flight and mule musiq - bewitch with hauntingly soulful music full of sexuality and a killer low-slung house class.

the end of cd 1 is market with an electrified wave knockout punch by japanese producer kuniyuki and the track leguan' - a driving house lullaby by german producer konstantin sibold and his buddy leif müller.a terrific first part of i'm starting to feel ok vol. 7.' that gets accompanied by a second cd which delivers more thrilling grooves and suspenseful atmospheres.

cd 2 features only one track has been released so far. it is amedeo' by new york city's slow-mo house connoisseurs frank & tony. all other ten arrangements are exclusive and made by dedicated and renowned dudes like fred p, oskar offerman, frankey & sandrino, aril brikha & sebastian mullaert, fort romeau, dj jenifa aka gold panda or bell-towers from australia as well as some lesser known, upcoming artists like cologne's new promising producer johannes klingebiel or the berlin based electronic and deep house duo kim brown.

again you can use house and partly techno as an umbrella term for all eleven arrangements. but each of them challenges the common definition of a genre blueprint with cosmic excursions, hypnotic rhythms, quaking basslines, spiritual synths, moody chords and freewheeling jazz instrumentation.

overall i'm starting to feel ok vol.7 gathers music that sticks out with special track architecture, artistic imagination, playful musicality and utterly captivating groove magic. it features some real vibrant music from planet earth, which ensures that each listener starts to feel ok without detours.

Oscillat Music is the new label run by Lazare Hoche, Malin Genie and Samuel Andre Madsen. Oscillat Music is dedicated to the releasing house and techno music with a dubby flavor. This first EP is an example of just that. After releasing on labels like Fathers & Sons, Delaphine, Pluie/Noir and Subwax he now turns to a slightly more traditional 909 based sound adding his own touch.
A1. The EP starts off with the title track Marabouda. 10 minuts packed with evolving melodies, male whispers and a 909 groove that will get the floor going.
A2. This second track Storm Refuge is sounding exactly like that - a quiet solitary place during a storm. The track begins with fat dub chords and long bassnotes sneaking into the soundscape. Then after a short while we hear some sparse 808 patterns introducing a groove and putting the dub sounds into a groove.
B1. The first track on the b-side is Decoy. Soft chords are setting the vibe in the intro with some vocal FX introducing the verse sung by a male vocal. The track builds with the chords opening up and a bassline melody is introduced halfway through adding to the track a nice gimmick.
B2. Last track Bahia is a club groover with a simple powerful groove, a pad with lots of tension and a melodic bassline forming the theme. Club tune!

The second release of Hamburg-based house and techno label Audiolove Recordings. The limited vinyl release (300 copies only) of the EP is set to drop on October 25th, to a collection of industry insiders.ALRLV 002 is deeply house based EP and features three club cuts of pure, padded brilliance. 'Sunrise' is a nice bassline addicted deep house track, as it blissfully sways between softly thumping bass and smooth vocal snippets. Next track '13 October' is a peak time house track with powerful synths and chords playing around the strong groovin´ kick and hi hat s. Finally, 'Monkey Troopers' a track of extra rhythmic minimal techno which builds beautifully with lots of angular delicate melodies that form rather tenderly.

There is no rest for Constant Sound, because the label quickly follows up top tracks and remixes from the likes of Paolo Rocco, Nail and Steve O'Sullivan with this new offering from Constant, aka the boss men themselves, namely Jon Woodall and Burnski. It also comes with remixes from Blackhall & Bookless, S.A.M and A Scott.

The Constant pair are well versed in house music in all its guises, both as DJ and producers, and it shows once again here. Their first cut, 'Dub Life', is a slithering, slippery and frictionless house roller with tunnelling percussive patterns, restless drums and myriad synth smears that really pull you down into a seductive groove. Subtle vocals add character and ensure this one will keep 'floors locked for days.

Acclaimed London based, Geordie raised duo Blackhall & Bookless then step up. As well as running their own night and label under the Jaunt banner, they play all over Europe and Ibiza so are well travelled talents. Their remix is a fired up, peak time techno leaning bomb with barreling kicks, ravey stabs and Detroit referencing pads that really grab your attention.

The S.A.M. reshape then offers up elastic, spaced out deep house vibes with airy hi hats, lots of height in the drums and plenty of feeling in the slithering synth lines that lace up the track. Closing out the package is a remix from returning label artist A Scott, who appeared on the second EP alongside Chad and once again impresses here. His fine remix is a lovably flabby and cavernous track with oodles of reverb, rattling train track like grooves and atmospheric pads that swirl all around you as you drift in his air beats. It rounds out another assured and accomplished package from Constant Sound.

Next up on Moon Harbour is a pair of label debutants in the form of prolific German Turk producer Butch, and Be As One label regular Gel Abril. Together they cook up a pair of enticing
tech house cuts that get remixed by Re.You, who himself released on the label back in 2014.

Butch has been active for years, has collaborated with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and has served up tons of killer hits that have kept people all over the world dancing non stop. Israeli Gel
Abril has also released a consistently inventive stream of EPs in the tech house mould and
together this pair really excel.

Up first, 'Juice Machine' is a barreling cut with pinging drums that ride up and down in infectious style. Carefully treated vocals echo up top and add a dub flavour as subtle rave horns and old
school motifs also colour the groove. When remixed by Re.You, the track becomes a more
subdued, deeper cut with spraying synths and a sense of late night paranoia in the grooves.

Lastly, 'Badass Acid' is a minimal cut with warm pads, hiccuping sine waves and a growing sense of synthetic tension. It's a masterful bit of slow burning craftsmanship that has icy hi hats
to die for.

With this excellent EP, Moon Harbour once again widen their sonic remit and welcome some truly tastemaking talents to the label.

Efdemin is back on Dial Records with his third full-length album DECAY, following his self-titled debut in 2007 and CHICAGO, in 2010. Once again he offers a stunningly seductive stream of music written in his very own hand. After three years of extensive touring as a DJ, Phillip Sollmann took the chance to compose his third album under his Efdemin moniker while spending three months in an artist residency in Kyoto, Japan. Living next to the Kamo river, surrounded by temples, shrines and the ever-present blue mountains, he started working in the late summer, facing typhoons and intensive heat, and finished the album in the early mild days of winter. Thus mainly assembled in autumn, his favourite season of year, the ten tracks on "Decay" express the paradoxical relationship between beauty and decay. The production procedure was a dichotomous one. Recording was done in his recently finished new Berlin-Wedding studio, "The Meadow," mostly on analog equipment, while the final production took place in Japan. The result is an album of intriguing rigour and a certain beauty hidden within. It marks a big step towards the deeper side of techno and lets many of his early influences in 90s techno shine through (from early Cologne minimalism, M-plant and Axis to Terrence Dixon) as well as his love for drone music. Although at a first glance it might seem that this album is a somehow more distant and less melodic than the previous output, it provides the full unique range of Efdemin's vocabulary, which he is known and loved for. Decay sounds in certain parts like a of process of correction, revaluation and re-alignment, making room for new thing to come. There is beauty within decay.

John Digweed - Live in Argentina. Taken from live recordings of two phenomenal gigs at Rosario & Buenos Aires in late September.

Göttingen/Germany based sublabel of Shaker Plates "Rüttelplatten" comes out with a split Vinyl as a double release. This limited 200 piece edition featuring as the #003 an upcoming female Dj and producing talent from Dortmund/Germany. She´s called by her real name "Frau Schwarzmann" and has a big release vita so far. " No Comprende" is a banging floor filler with wonderful arranged shaking sound elements. Label owner Gunman gives his Remix a dark acid line and also shaking FX sounds for the right grooooove. The #004 side is an older project which did not make it on Gunmans "Daily Mirror" Album. A "Purity Ball" is a formal dance event attended by fathers and their daughters which promotes virginity until marriage for teenage girls. That´s ridiculous for us. Anyway...this sound issue is also pure and gives a feeling - but to dance free! So we are happy about the collaboration with our long close friends from Snuff Crew. These two funny guys have given their most favoured interpretation of an electronic dance groove - a generous helping of Jack!

You really couldn't predict this one: Terre Thaemlitz's Comatonse present a cut from english polymath Simon Fisher Turnerís soundtrack to The Epic of Everest, backed with Sprinkles' gorgeous, blue Deeperama mix.Fisher Turnerís windswept, quietly pulsating Shishapangma is one of the latest iterations of a long and colourful oeuvre which has seen him involved with an early incarnation of The The and work extensively on scores for Derek Jarman, as well as involvement with the Portsmouth Sinfonia Orchestra, not to mention a career in acting that made him a teenage star in the 70's.As with his best solo work for Mute, Shishapangma is marked by a sombre yet majestic appeal that works with or without the accompanying footage from 'The Epic of Everest', a film made in 1924 by Captain John Noel which Fisher Turner scored last year. In key with the original composition, Sprinkles' gently sub-fuelled Deeperama mix teases the original's horns to sound something like Peter Zummo doing eleven minutes of deepest house. it's one of those incredible Sprinkles productions that's both fathoms deep and endlessly inspiring.Take a listen, youíll know what we mean...

Very Limited release in this vinyl only series from Lowroom. 4 big dance floor bangers from Jerome.c , Hector and Fabrizio Maurizi. Already supported by Marco corolla & Loco Dice.

Northern England's Turquoise Blue imprint delivers the 'Parallel Minds' EP this September, coming
courtesy of French duo Yamen & EDA, backed with remixes from Terence:Terry and John Dimas.

Yamen & EDA aka Hadrien Alaoui & Francois Sauri were born and raised in the south of France, since hooking
up in 2011 and starting to produce material together the duo have found themselves playing sets at some of
Europe's most influential nightclubs, such as Watergate (Berlin), Social Club (Paris) and The Garage (Leeds).
Here we see the pair offer up an EP for the ever on-point Turquoise Blue imprint, and with material forthcoming
on One Records and the launch of their Rawmance LTD label, evidently these two are ones to watch over the
coming months and 2015.

Kicking off the release is the original mix of 'Windmill', a stripped percussive-led number fuelled by sparse,
minimalistic drums, rumbling sub-bass tones and mind-bending vocal murmurs. La Vie En Rose owner
Terence:Terry steps up to rework 'Windmill' to follow, upping the energy levels with the percussive aspects,
and bringing a more stab focused resonant bass hook to the forefront.

Second on the original content from the duo we have 'Physicall', embracing a similar low-slung aesthetic to the
preceding cut the pair blend shuffling rhythms and processed spoken word vocals with swirling ethereal pad
sounds and subtly programmed bass hits to create a smooth, hypnotic number. Berlin-based John Dimas
reshaphes 'Physicall' next with his 'Warped Mix', and as the name would suggest Dimas re-twists the original
number into a fluttering, heavily processed interpretation.

Welcome Audio Stunts & Mahumba on Ton liebt Klang. After their big success on Shaker Plates they are now a part of the TLK Family.
