New York is awash in emerging young dance producers of different stripes, and, with Your Go, the debut EP from Love Letters, a new name is added to the artists' community who together are revitalizing the long-dormant dance scene. Labels like L.I.E.S. and White Material have reveled in a youthful, raw sound, and Love Letters is no stranger to this, but his background in post punk and ambient music and his deep admiration for disco show through his sound clearly. The brief title track opens, the rolling kicks and submerged bass rebounding off each other and sending reverberations and the space signal bleeping in the distance. Drowned in amplifier hum and circling filter effects, 'Terraform' moves forward into melodic territory somewhere between Satie and Omar-S but keeps its noisy experimental edge intact. 'He Go' is a follow up to the title track, but extended and moving in splayed stance with staggered kicks, ratcheting up the tempo at the midpoint to bring an entirely different feeling and revealing itself as accomplished dub techno pushed onwards by insistent percussion. 'Put' cleans things up marginally but barrels into an off-kilter drum groove that centres itself gradually as it is joined by other voices - pads, deeply funky basslines, industrial atmospheres - developing in distinct sections for the longest, most complex piece on the EP.

He has already established his dj as almost synonymous with the sounds of modern underground Berlin. We're over the moon to present the vinyl debut of Elysia Crampton with 'Moth / Lake' thru Boomkat Editions.
Formerly known by the moniker, E + E, this single marks the first chapter of her Shenandoah series, a concept work that explores Virginian American history and brownness beyond culture, as geology - as mud, dirt, and mineral.' Breaking with the artist's highly influential and formerly sample-rich arrangements, the material on both sides is entirely, uniquely original. With the breathtaking transevangelistic comedy, 'Moth', written for and featuring the compelling vocal of Money Allah, Elysia pays tribute to legendary Afro-American comedians Stepin Fetchit and Bert Williams against a sweeping backdrop of vapourous synths and strings perhaps best compared, in terms of sonics, with the deep synthetic topographies of TCF and Arca (or is it the other way around). In the most striking sense, it's a song that will stick with you long, long after it's finished. The immersive instrumental B-side, 'Lake', is Elysia's version of a Bolivian Saya, a work song/dance style which can trace its roots back to the original mixture of Andean and African traditions during the first days of slavery in South America, and also makes reference to John Bunyan's 17th C religious text, 'Pilgrim's Progress' and the railroad path near the Shenandoah Mountains, Virginia, where the piece's crepsucular patina of field recordings were sourced. Quite simply, it's a hugely recommended record from a genuinely exceptional and incisive artist.

Primal is an Icelandic electronic music producer and Dj based in Copenhagen.
The past few years, Primal has been involved with an electronic music project by the name of Kúra, featuring the Icelandic singer Fanney Osk.

Kúra, which became a widely recognized electronic act in northern Europe, offered an opportunity to explore new areas, ideas and genres.
He eventually got introduced to the underground techno society by Just This crew.

Primal was then inspired to evolve his soundscape in new directions, resulting in a previously unexplored, darker universe with hypnotizing melancholic rhythms and heavy bass-lines.
The man behind Primal, Brynjar Bjarnfoss, was born in Reykjavík, Iceland where spent his early childhood years.

Since moving to Copenhagen at an early age, the music was always on the agenda. As a young adult he quickly got recognition in the Copenhagen underground electronic scene. He rapidly became a re-occurring act at various well renowned events, such as; Roskilde Festival, Distortion, Stella Polaris, STRØM and numerous clubs across Europe. He is currently featured as a newly implemented act of the Milano based Just This movement, and has recently cofounded the Just This record label.

Our seventh release is inspired by the Old Norse literature, Voluspa a poem written by an unknown Icelander. This two track EP reflects the
heroes/villains antithesis present in the Codex manuscript. On the A
side we have an intense bass line work coupled with a never standing
still percussion layer. Itís a dynamic piece that keeps the melodic progression going once the filtered pads emerge.

The B side comes with a calmer and soothing mood. Mysterious and full of cavernous spaces, we can easily imagine ourselves immersed in the
beautiful Icelandic landscapes while the bass line and synths evolve
into a beautiful harmonic movement.

These opposite sides complete each other with a finesse characteristic of Vladís works while keeping the direction on pleasing both minds and
bodies.

For the next release on Souvenir, the label dips into the past of almost 30 years ago to retrieve this forgotten souvenir of the times, dusting off and rejuvenating Section 25's classic, 'Desert', taken from the album, 'From the Hip' on Manchester's infamous Factory Records. This reappropriation of the 1984 track is the perfect choice for two very seasoned producers whose own musical history dates back to those days: Mahk (Mahk Rumbae) and DJ Morpheus (Samy Birnbach). As a vocalist, A&R, label manager, DJ, producer, musician and more, DJ Morpheus has been involved in music from the late 80s. He formed part of cult act Minimal Compact during the mid-80s then went onto producing as the Gruesome Twosome (releasing their biggest hit 'Hallucination Generation' in 1989), and then later, in 1994, worked as A&R for SSR/ Crammed Discs, taking the helm of their much loved Freezone Compilations, exposing the world to artists as varied and cutting edge as DJ Cam, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Photek, Abacus, T-Power, The Mighty Bop aka Bob Sinclar, Howie B, Coldcut, Carl Craig, Basement Jaxx, 4 Hero, Josh Wink, Plaid, Alex Gopher and more. Working in electronic music since the late 1980s too, Mahk has spent much of his time working in the experimental field, both as part of long running industrial/ experimental band Konstruktivists as well as on a number of solo projects. He also produced dance and techno in the early 90s, then in the late 90s in the UK drum and bass scene, releasing tracks on Mickey Finn and Aphrodite's label Urban Takeover. Mahk continues to work on new music, recently returning to the techno scene with his new dark techno project Codex Empire.

All-day and all-night cultural entertainment center and Athenian place-to-be, six d.o.g.s, has launched its brand new label, six d.o.g.s records.

It's first release under the Gilda series, which will be focusing on contemporary, club-oriented electronic music, is Lemos' 'Kayikçi'. Lemos, the wonder-boy of Greek underground dance scene, delivers the goods with a cover of 'Kaykci', a Greek (with Turkish-like aroma) folk song, originally written in 1948. The song is a staple of traditional Greek music, having been covered by numerous artists through the years. Lemos' nine minute long take features the beautiful vocals of folk-jazz singer, Natasha Mindrinou. In typical Lemos style, the track is a dubby techno - house trip to the stars, retaining the core of the original song, basic melodies and lyrics. This leads-up to a deep, hypnotic but epic, 'huge' cut that will surely move after hours dancefloors all-over.

A remix by Kreon, the Greek maitre of contemporary minimal techno. He takes the original parts of Kayikçi, under a low key bass carpet that extends to 12 minutes. Stripped down, with emphasis on crystal clear rhythmics and in full swing, the track takes a whole new meaning. Smartly placed vocals that fit in the after-hours aura and a hands-up moment towards the end, Kreon brings the heat akin to the sound of Ricardo Villalobos and RPR.

Ray Okpara's Ama Recordings delivers its sixteenth release this summer
'Ovijay - Enrico Peretti'. Romanian native Ovijay and Italy's Enrico Perretti return to the Ama family this year following their debut on the German-based imprint back in 2012 via the VA 'Vol. 2012' EP. For the opener 'Days With You' Ovijay works in a cut back male vox over multi-layered percussion patterns, oscillating bass and hypnotic beats to deliver a warm and organic house cut. The clue is in the name for 'Groovin With You' as Ovijay offers up a dynamic groove-led beat, utilising shifting metallic drum rhythms and dancing synth arrangements to provide a seamless rhythm to his second offering for the EP. On the B Side Enrico Peretti delivers a cut back affair in 'Stay Soft', with a beautifully basic arrangement of percussion and submerged tones that bubble and build around wacky atmospherics and intonations. In 'Loser' Peretti takes things a little darker and delivers a low-slung sub-led groover with tribalesquedrums rhythms that shimmer alongside pulsating bass lines and whirring tones to create a kinetic final product geared to the early hours.

Hut Vibez Records is a London based vinyl label, with a focus on house and techno.. HV002PT1 is designed for the club systems: the second instalment in the Hut Vibez Records series is a rhythmic release, sure to work the crowd. Jase is now delving deeper into the analogue world, creating music with a organic sound.Through this latest production he delivers two intuitive tracks, which capitalise on the sound vinyl can offer. Resonant and complex, these tracks demonstrate Jase's adept fascination with seeking out new ways to work, bringing a satisfying and exploratory sound to the techno realm.

Vekton 31 is a record for vinyl-lovers of the two talented artists Maki Polne and
Lorenzo Chiabotti based in Berlin. Both sides are very different and reflect their
individual, detailed production style with lovely dub elements. We look forward to
- Everlasting Treasuries 5' where the two Vekton-Debutants are also represented.

Joseph Capriati delivers a stirring, snare driven opener with Spring Sprouts that rounds off a superb year that has seen him become one of the Drumcode labels key players - a fine accolade.

Label-boss and highly regarded veteran of techno Rino Cerrone steps up for track 2, Pitch Black, and shows his skills in a groovey, swinging tech-house form.

Gaetano Parisio rolls out shuffling drums and filtered stabs aplenty with his accomplished and upbeat Black Out which marks the midway point of the EP while Sasha Carrassi turns the lights out for the bubbling, moody and aggressive Tetrahertz.

collaborations with the likes of Masomenos, and progressive hits like Flying' on Yoshitoshi, Kanzyani is a true beat scientist (and a celebrated one too).

Following two acclaimed EP's on KOMPAKT and more than a year of meticulous preparation, the bar has been set high for Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad aka COMA whose much-anticipated album debut IN TECHNICOLOR will soon see the light of day via KOMPAKT. You'll hear them answer all expectations with an ingeniously composed collection of triple A tracks constantly shifting from club to pop culture and back. Spiked with brilliant guest performances from the likes of VIMES, ROOSEVELT, ADA and also MIT's frontman Edi Winarni, COMA's debut full-length gives you an panoramic view over Cologne' new school revamping the city's sonic skyline. Purveyors of fine Cologne stomp since 2007, COMA knowsÊhow to incite a crowd. The first demonstration of that secret knowledge was given at the city's c/o pop festival, where Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad debuted live in front of a sold out crowd. They hit the ground running, winning over fans almost immediately with their personal blend of pop-infused electronics, and have been hailed as Cologne's next big thing ever since. Known for their ardent perfectionism, both producers don't take things lightly and have been working meticulously on their album debut for more than a year, ironing out the details, collecting tracks and looking for a perfect narrative: "We don't necessarily like listening to purist techno albums", COMA says, "so after playing gigs in clubs all over the world, we decided to do a pop album about club culture instead." With their ridiculously catchy synth riffs, album opener HOOOOORAY and follow-up MAYBACH perfectly showcase the balance between club functionality and its counterpart, a kind of pop-styled playfulness found everywhere on IN TECHNICOLOR. The duo happily admit to the trouble they had with being lost in floor standards: "Where our previous releases were kind of mirroring a foggy black and white movie, this is definitely a color film... our attempt at fusing diverse sounds in a more vivid manner, without falling prey to boring club conventions restricting the expressiveness of the music." Tracks such as CYCLE, MAXIMAL MINIMAL and THE GREAT ESCAPE certainly owe much to the crowd's demand for epic melodies and huge build-ups, but find themselves framed by free-spirited workouts like the stoically sung LES DILETTANTES, the angular OUT OF CONTROL or that little melancholic masterpiece just titled #. Laying out a richly adorned network of influences, IN TECHNICOLOR is also a direct result of COMA's collaborative approach: maintaining their own studio in Cologne since 2008 allowed for the multitude of cameos by like-minded artists such as VIMES, ADA, ROOSEVELT and MIT's Edi Winarni, which were all recorded on site. The most impressive part It all holds together perfectly, going back and forth between expressive songwriting and infectious grooves, readily spawning massive hits like vocoder ballad MY ORBIT or the longing MISSING PIECE. With the serene wisdom of final track T.E.D. the album comes to a fitting end, leaving the audience with one of the most engaging album experiences to have in 2013. The world just got a little bit better.

Back at the end of 2004 when i was just beginning to set up this tiny label called dirtybird I would have never believed we would be here at EP number 50!
We've had CDs, secret releases and album remixes so technically we hit 50 release long ago, but it's still very special to see the words "dirtybird 50" on a record.
The three tracks I've chosen for this release go through a wide range of our sound. "Cyclone" by Samuel Dan and Feygin is a throwback to the way dirtybird records sounded back in 2006, raw and fun with big drums
