For their next release, the Diynamic label turns to a collaborative partnership that has had plenty of success before now, namely NTFO & Karmon. Previously their 'Nobody Else' tune for the label was a huge release and here they team up for a pair of brand new singles that are sure to soundtrack dancefloors for many months to come. The EP is the result of 5 days in the studio together and the resulting music is fresh, deep and arresting. Both artists have appeared on the label before now, with the NTFO duo hailing from Romania and Karmon being from the Netherlands. In cahoots the three producers really bring out the bets in each other as evidenced by the refreshing sounds included here. First up is 'Metropolis', which is a deep and sublime bit of house music. A wavy groove is fleshed out with odd synth sounds and a killer bobbling bassline. It's tech house but with plenty of musicality at its core as well as deftly shifting percussive patterns and expertly produced drum fills. Always evolving and drawing you ever more in to its heart, it's an underground anthem in the making. The other track is the nerve tingling, big dropping 'Composit' (ie materials made from two or more constituent materials, such as this collaborative partnership). This one is bigger and bolder than the other track and is more suited to the main room as a result. It takes time to get there, though, thanks to a sensuous and lush build up of washing chords and dumpy kick drums. When it does break you are fully swept along for the ride and can't imagine anywhere else you'd rather be. These two singles confirm once again that not only is Diynamic the greatest when it comes to unearthing great music, but so too that they work with the most exciting artists in the game.

VENT is a newly formed Berlin based vinyl only label, built upon the love of raw and unpretentious techno. With a widespread group of artists under its wings, VENT is taking the same thoughts from different people in different parts of the world and thus gathering the cognates of a contemporary techno vision.
The first release is from Arbiter, which is a new moniker from Ingemar Stalholm. Arbiter sets out to catch the mood of long northern nights and the smile of underground party revelers, by combining his curiously personal sense of harmony with clockwork percussion and a moderate touch of grit and distortion. Gothiscandza is the name of what old Roman explorers theorised was the northern city from which the yeats was stemming from, thus the heart of Scandinavia. Arbiter's EP is the journey to there.
Night Transporter is an aerodynamic toolesque thing, painting a picture of dust and graffiti lined city streets. Over a relentless rattling beat a flickering reel projects traces of afterglow. The track is gritty like an industrial district, but full of hidden pockets that people can find freedom and sanctuary in.
Drown is inebriated and frank, with darkness around the edges of vision. It's a rude poetry, laden with crude percussion, unhaltingly and with an overwhelming melody. It helps you shrink your world in that pleasant way a dancefloor does.
Nomad is an ode to unceasing movement and inner chest momentum. A massive kick drum thunders forward while a caustic acid line spins like a compass needle next to a magnet. Nomad is the largest track in the pack, another techno beast bred in the forests of the North.
Finishing track Gigsponk is performed behind heavy eyelids with acid trace remnants and flashbacks of self-confidence. Sultry bass and eager drums make for a rhythmic climax in this peculiar world view. A pagan kiss of parting, but at the same time a promise of new encounters.

This March will see the release of 'Fringe In The Box #1', a project born out of the Fringe stage at Torino's Jazz Festival. The first in a series of vinyl releases sees input from Hugo, TBoy, Andrea Ferlin and
Brandumize featured.
The people behind the project tell us FRINGE is 'Fringe In The Box is the newest feature of the 2013 Torino Jazz Festival. The Box is curated by the musicians, producers and Turin-based DJ's, Ugo Basile and Francesco Pistoi in conjunction with the artistic curator of FRINGE Furio di Castri, the concept stems from the desire to chart a new path of interaction and exchange between the world of jazz and that of electronic music'. The pieces featured on this record are produced using samples of the live instrumental recordings made by renowned jazz musicians in Turin, which is at the heart of the project. These recordings were then sent to the aforementioned producers who then created the resultant intriguing material by deconstructing, modifying and reassembling the pieces.
Opening the 'Fringe In The Box #1' is the heart-wrenching ambient soundscapes of 'Take 1' by Brandumize, who skillfully blends soft, cosseting pads with glitching electronic noises and rumbling sub bass. While shimmering sax licks subtly flutter around the foundations, and lo-fi broken rhythms instill a further intelligent and forward thinking appeal to the composition. Following we have Trapez / Contexterrior artist, Andrea Ferlin's 'Take 2', as expected from such a proficient and talented producer, Ferlin delivers a raw stripped-back workout fuelled by organic Tabla rhythms, bulbous sub-bass tones, and modulating synthesized atmospherics. Again creating something refreshing to listen to and sparklingly unique as the record gradually unfolds over nine minutes brilliantly.
Then we have Hugo's 'Take 3' on the B-Side, which steps things up a notch with a more upfront feel, bringing rolling organic percussion to the forefront alongside funk guitar licks, dubby echoes, improv saxophone recordings and sweeping synth chords. Giving off an almost dissonant vibe yet so intricately constructed to do so that it again makes for an undeniably invigorating listen. And last up to close the record is TBoy's 'Take 4', the Hot Waves producer puts his contemporary spin on things by cleverly chopping up finite snippets of the recordings and remodeling the chops into a modern, low-slung house number embodying a raw beauty, yet maintaining a rugged dance floor appeal.

CAMP INC. are Cologne-based DJs, producers and acclaimed crazies Roland Kaiser Wilhelm and Sebastian Ingenhoff, founders of infamous tape label Camp Magnetics. Revered by local crowds, but feared by club technicians, the duo's live sets consists exclusively of hand-cranked hardware equipment spitting out wild Acid basslines, kicking synths and mad love. Their very first EP does not stray far away from that highly successful formula, featuring three delectable cuts that jump at the floor from all angles and raise even the laziest punter. An impressively idiosyncratic remix hails from fellow Cologne iconoclasts VON SPAR who create an alternate universe where the common laws of physics don't seem to apply - kosmische noise disco is where it's at. For a first time applicant, this release bears witness to the assured confidence of premiering label outfit LOW HANGING FRUIT, a venture of long time DJs Shumi and Marc Lansley aka Truffle Shuffle. No filler, all killer!

A new Year, a new record "der turnbeutel" brings its third vinyl into the recordstores. On the A-Side you'll find our "old" acquaintance Datastix, who again show their lucky hands in finding the right track in these dark times of the year with their "Penumbra". "Penumbra" is accompanied by a remix from Nadja Lind (Klartraum/Lucidflow) - a remix that fills espacially the guys of Datastix with a lot of pride. On the B-Side Clark Davis turns his rounds with his "Tretroller" (engl. scooter), a track which will drive the atomsphere on any dancefloor. The disk gets completed by a tretroller remix from Andre Kronert (Night Drive Music), that comes so massive that even big boys can ride it smoothly.

Fear of Flying unleash their first ever LP with dutchman Ivano Tetelepta undertaking the honours. The 8 tracks on the vinyl are a step away from the traditional straight up 4/4 route that FOF usually tread, feeling that for an LP to make a splash in the modern era it has to be more about the flow of tracks as a whole, rather than just a double pack of straight up house beats; there has to be a splash more emotion and feeling with the emphasis on mood. Yet that isn't to say there aren't club worthy tracks, far from it. The glorious twisted '120' and deep tech funk '119' are custom made for the dancefloor and are exclusive to the vinyl release whilst the CD version has it's own exclusives in the form of the more broken '115 alternative mix' and laidback '117'.

Marcus Worgull and Danilo Plessow (Motorcity Drum Ensemble) are the members of the Vermont project.
With an artist roster as prolific and well-established as Kompakt's, you won't find much downtime that could be used for new entries to the catalogue. That's why we are especially happy to not only present the inaugurating full-length of VERMONT, but also introduce two distinguished producers to the fold that have built their impressive careers in our immediate vicinity, albeit appearing on the label for the very first time: Innervisions' MARCUS WORGULL and DANILO PLESSOW (of MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE fame), two floor familiars praised for their gripping club tunes that showcase a surprisingly unwound and novel side to their respective artist personas.
With VERMONT, MARCUS WORGULL and DANILO PLESSOW submit a noticeably mature work that seems to come from a well attuned production duo, effectively concealing the fact that this is their first collaborative effort... and a decidedly informal one at that: these cuts were not conceived with specific aesthetic goals in mind, but emerged from a series of loose jam sessions disclosing the trespassing spirit of the sonic adventurer. It's in the sanctum of Danilo's former Cologne studio, surrounded by an armada of vintage analogue synthesizers, that the two music buffs somewhat inadvertently tapped into the city's collective subconsciousness and minted fourteen sleek soundscapes of almost krautrockish proportions.
