As 2013 draws to a close, Sylphe's very own Holdie Gawn & Micawber are delivering their first release for 2014, Sylphe 05. Taking shape in the familiar split format, the Sylphe duo is delivering their most daring work to date. A side features ''Thron'', an acid influenced deep groover which expands over 11 minutes and builds up slowly with stomping sub-bass notes, combined with smooth sonic textures: a fine blend of new and old school influenced with a modern approach. On the flip, ''F7'' sounds a lot like an ongoing computation process. Riding along edgy electronic soundscapes and a heavy kick & bass combination, it evolves evolving gradually into an experimental jam, packed up with shuffled glitches and rhythms.

finally repressed!
Heavily infuenced by the early works of Zoltar, Adsum got into electronic music at an early age. Then some years ago, when he had to move to earth, things got more serious. Spending his time between loops he learned their language, being able to blend in like one of them. So here we go... This release represent just a friendly hallo to our listeners.

The STL project elevates you again on another lovely 12 called Magic23. With 4 tracks and 2 bonus loops, it is the continuation of the Vinyl Series in deep practiced Something style and artful moody created beats and sound made by Stephan Laubner. Coming from a hardware approach, all output is channeled via oldshool equipment and analog devices honestly into the listeners ears in order to share emotions and make your time vibrating and alive. This music works like telekinesis. On a level that is hard to understand in rational explanations. While it is unclear how and why, we just know things like these extrasensory transmissions definitely happens. This seems to be an obscure thing, but music is something for the heart and we are able to feel and understand music deep within us. On Something Vinyl Series 23 the magic journey keeps going on with psychelicious delicious tracks ranging from downtempo to effective deep house cuts. This vinyl comes with a diy styled cover and as always in limited quantities. Enjoy!

Early Support from: OCH, Timmy P, Adam Shelton, Zoo Look, Matthew Burton, Sascha Dive, DJ W!LD, Matthew Styles, Fabio Monesi, Lo Shea, Pedramovich & more...

Galdoors presents a brand new 12 single of house and techno from London-based Elgato. On the A side, Links' chords, strings and vocal edits roll out over a typically rough low end, while Sun is a hypnotic, evolving groove taking you deep and down, delivered in his unique minimalist style.

Second Vinyl installement on Atmosphere and another proof that Stereo
Express (Shaker Plates, Pimprinella, Ipoly Music) is on a peak level. This
time with support from Stavroz we get two great Originals in
combination with Remixes from Umami (Burlesque Musique, Audiolith)
and Mollono.Bass (Ostwind, Acker).

A_head with Music is the first record of the BackTrackDaddies. On the A-side, the BackTrackDaddies bring you 'Vinyl lover' because they believe in the value and quality of vinyl records. With the track 'I want to see' they bring you a tripping vocal track that will take you back to the beaches of summer isles. It's transcending yet poppy to listen to and rings in your ears.

On the B-side the BackTrackDaddies want to put a blacklight on the darker side of their musical taste. 'When designers make music' is a track that would fit 'Headroom' (StuBru) on a Friday evening nicely. With 'Boîte Noire' they shine light on their New Wave background.

Let's put vinyl back in the living room, on a nice dish, filled with quality food for our head.

incl. Douglas Greed Remix

Ahead of the release of his debut full length, Brazilian producer, club owner, businessman and DJ Renato Ratier releases a first single from it featuring Pillow Talk and complete with a Dubshape remix.

As well as being a driving force at both Warung and D Edge in Brazil, Ratier has recently shown himself to be an adept producer with a great couple of tracks that were stylistically diverse. Here the two originals continue in that good form. First up, Home Boys is a lucid but deep house cut with molten melodies and thick synth lines jangling around the firm kick drums as thin pads add a celestial vibe. The Kicks and percussion engage nicely and rotate in inviting cycles as a the deep and woozy and seductive vocals of Pillow Talk add an infectious human element to the track. The track gets a fine remix from foremost Brazilian producer Dubshape who unsurprisingly makes the track even deeper and more stripped with a wavy kick clap combo really inciting you to dance and warm neon chords interacting with the originals spritely vocals. Lush indeed. Sweet Home is the other original and features finger clicks, glowing chords, percussive shakers and rich organ like stabs, which all-togeth- er craft a beautifully melancholic vibe. The rubbery, rounded kick drum propels things along and when those trademark Pillow Talk vocals come in it becomes even more achingly love torn and leaves a lasting impact. On this evidence the Renato Ratier album is going to be one well worth checking for fans of rich and musical house sounds.

Starting off the New Year with one of the most forward-thinking entries in the series to date, Defected presents Nick Curly In The House is a 2-disc mix of deep, emotive house and techno and the natural evolution in the thriving relationship between label and artist, and features cuts from the likes of Schatrax, Matthias Mayer, Dubshape, Gorge, DJ W!ld and Jordan Peak, as well as a couple of album exclusives from Curly himself.

In 2014 Nick Curly enters a pantheon of DJ greats with his entry into Defected's hallowed In The House mix series; a natural collaboration given his close relationship with the label. Not only did Defected re-release his debut artist album, Between The Lines, in 2012, but also helped serve up some killer remixes of it from seminal acts like Larry Heard and Dennis Ferrer.

Stephan Laubner aka STL is a myth. A legend. Releasing music on Perlon, Smallville and his own label Something, he became a secret star to the worlwide scene of contemporary Techno and House Music. But still he seems to be an unknown person. On his new album release on Smallville Records, STL is back with a deep excursion into dubbed out science of sound. It all started in 2000, when he occured on the very early Perlon # 13. Dandy Jack and Ricardo Villalobos aka Ric'y'Martin on the A-side, that b-sided Stephan Laubner track was the early night out soundtrack, that would stay forever in all the Dj cases collecting the minimal sound in an interesting way. While founding his own label Something, everybody knew about Laubners very own musically language. Some northern interpretations of Theo Parrish influenced grooves and textures and his very unique dub works. 'Silent State' on Smallville 12 became a hit, appearing on several compilations and podcasts. Cassy, Tama Sumo, Lawrence and many more featured the track, which still hypnotizes dancers every weekend. What makes the sound of STL so special What is behind those deep 4/4 tracks that make you feel like not staying on this planet anymore There is a secret behind all those tracks. The depth of certain sounds, some almost hidden samples, the structure- Stephan Laubner is a scientist who creates a mystic microcosm around every tune. On the eighth Smallville longplayer, STL dives deep into echospaces. Whether you call the facade Dub or House Music, purist's will find this realness - the authentic bandechoes, the perfect mixing. But Laubner breaks through the wall with a deeply touching rhodes melody or some alienated sounds reaching your mind like messages from the beyond.

Following Vincenzo's astonishing recent album, "Wherever I Lay My Head", which really elevated the producer's status into the stratosphere, we continue the story with three new remixes, from cult legend Tom Middleton, smooth-talking newcomers Genius Of Time, and talented UK-based Mic Newman.

Adolpho and Franky, Elektronik Bomb Original
A truly unique old school techno track, which sounds like nothing else, Original Elektronic Bomb is built on the foundations of a solid and swinging groove.
At the same time it is truly atmospheric and takes you to an eerie and dark place, where vocals arise out of nowhere as if from the past and reminiscent of a world war movie, where the sound of low flying airplanes soaring over a bare no man's land, will in still an uneasy and eerie feeling of panic into anyone who listens it.

Adolpho & Franky Go Forth Original
THE Track!!!! This one has its finger right on the pulse : A perfectly constructed rhythm section, a well-adjusted break, as if these guys know exactly how to crush any dance floor they are exposed to.
This track is the work of true "master craftsmen" and we recommend you check it out very quickly... first with your ears...
Then with your eyes by searching the world wide web for a tender little video clip

Sierra Sam Elektronik BomB Remix
We needed it and we are holding it high, the track that's all for the after party, or maybe just for the smart one who will know exactly when to place it ; this track is a screamer.
Extraordinary production from Sierra Sam, who needs no more introduction....

Empro go Forth, Remix:
A ticking time bomb, elaborated by Berlin's very own "Empro", this track has a rhythm section that will remind the more "mature" audience of the incredible beat in Moby's Go, accompanying the brilliant music on David Lynch's Twin Peaks...
This remix of "Empro Go Forth" is a true show stopper, one that will literally blow the dance-floor into smithereens.

EARLY FEEDBACK FROM ARTIST LIKE:

This summer, Ibiza dj & producer JP Chronic has finally decided to start his own label with some of the best producers on the magical island like 2vilas, Nima Gorji, Tuccillo, Cristian Viviano and others, with big supports & remixers coming up from big international artists on there future releases, here is the first Various Artist that brings you a more underground side of Ibiza with artist like Javier Gonzalez and Manu L resident djs of Monza Ibiza, Gauthier DM (Catwash, Robsoul), Mobius Strum (8bit, Supernature), Anek (Viva Music) and JP himself with a more dub, deep and rolling dark tech house with a minimal atmosphere...

!!! repressed !!! big electro house tune incl dub mix & Groove Rebels remix !! fugees cover !!!

There is some disco cockiness right here. The right amount of funky with a pinch of house and many other things that we'll discover as we peel back the layers with ease. The French duet Jules & Moss cook up an EP for Oblack in which the original track is released under the name 'The Cokine Cockee' and is a right of passage to house, with a slower tempo and cuasi lo-fi frequencies. With such an underground influence like nothing else, after the first play it's as if you've left a tomb full of temptation, sound and low light, very dim. Here you sweat over pink velvet even though your movements are heavy, like a camera in slow motion. Low vocals are ghost like, they give a strange attractiveness to the cut, the cinematic distortion works. Everything tastes black here.

The remix released by Parisian producer Phil Weeks puts 'The Cokine Cockee' gives proportion to this happy electronic, soft dubby track and helps the house flavor to grow.
It gives a shed load of quality and the effect on the dance floor, it adds backbone to this cool rhythm that, since being synthesized, better highlights this great version. Well Weeks, it's obvious you know what you're doing when comes to turning nobs and pushing buttons.

The second track in question 'Cyprine Joyeuse' by Jules & Moss is a nice house journey with a clear funky incline, a spot of looped guitar like an unexpected guest, in which the percussion marks a playful touch, fun and very danceable. This track has an interesting classic air about it, with a nice yet addictive drop. In the second part of the cut it starts adding synthetic elements that darken the mood, taking away some of the flashing lights from the riff and gives a new look to underground. It has style and feeling, what more can you ask for

Finally, Jules & Moss in perfect combo with their mate Oliver Woog, present the track 'La Redime' ending up with this EP for Oblack. They present the underground side of House, warm and wet, with an analogic touch that really shows a deep face to this release. It is a well developed track, atractive and seductive for the listener, adding up elements bit by bit with a very sweet taste. It is a hidden bomb that will surprise many of you. No doubt!

rmxs by EINSIEDLER, MICK THAMMER & GERALD PEKLAR the freaksound crew found this buried digital only treasure from the hamburg based minimal lounge guys some time ago and now it's time to release this monster on a 12" with new excursions by einsiedler, mick thammer & gerald peklar.

The Second release from Cabaret Recordings run by So Inagawa and dj masda who organize a club party called Cabaret based at Unit/Saloon Tokyo.
The first release So Inagawa's Logo Queen was supported by Daniel Bell, Lawrence, Jan Krueger, Le Loup, Chris Carrier, Eli Verveine and so on. This coming EP is modern deep house by So Inagawa. A Simple but strong EP, Indeed!

Jacky 0 is an Italian musician, born in Milan, the budding young producer, now in his early twenties, delivers infectious house and techno grooves infused with organic warmth, achieved through live instrumentation from the man himself. Blending an amalgamation of guitars, bass, drums, piano and ethnic percussion into his compositions. Here Jacky drops his debut LP 'Psiconautica', translation, 'Soul Navigation', on the ever on-point Apparel Music, joining the likes of Delano Smith, Lopazz, SCSI-9 and John Tejada on the roster. Opener 'Psilo' sets the tone nicely for the LP with its emotive, glitchy vibe, building a cosseting atmosphere, 'Adrift' follows in the same ilk with swirling dynamics, ever-evolving melodies and delicate intricacies. While the dark and brooding vibe continues in 'Zero Degrees' with heavily manipulated vocals, off-kilter drum programming and baroque structural changes, again creating something rather unique. The 'Sun Is Late' veers things into 4/4 territory and puts an ethereal spin on the direction of the album, with slowly blooming pads and warm chords. '20 Years Ago' follows, with broken-beats, lush guitar licks and swirling, psychedelic vocals. 'Hats and Dogs' displays 0's musicality brilliantly, with brilliantly constructed dubbed out guitars, hooky vocals and a profound depth to the record achieved through intense processing of the individual elements. The latter stages of the album delves deep into a dusty, glitched-out aesthetic with beautiful attributes, whether it be the warm strings of 'Everything Breaks Too Easily', fluttering melodies of 'My Only Chance To Remain Same' or penetrating subby tones of 'Rusty Gears', Jacky 0 consistently delivers a refreshing outlook on electronic music. Closing the release is 'Deprived Of The Power To Speak Normally' and 'Unbreakable Boy', the first of which focuses on natural instrumentation again with blossoming Rhodes, heavily delayed Piano licks and re-samples vocal snippets, while the latter takes a more electronic approach, opting for a penetrating electronic synth, distortion and an intense structure to close the release in style.
