THINK POSITIVE
The 10th EP released on For You Records, made by Dompe

FREE 2.0 as we are accustomed it´s a house track, rounded down with a
deep male vocal. Not too fast, not too slow - The Remix of FREE 2.0
is made by the Kiddaz.FM-Musicgroup Chief himself, Holgi Star and it
sounds compeletly different. Distinctly more Special Effects for your
ears, a really really nice one.
BERLIN SUMMER is the last one on that EP and as the name suggests it
feels like Berlin Summer, looking for the next openAir, walking
through the city.

Once again an EP that shows that Dompe feels more than homey in his
Genré and he is exactly sure what he does. THINK POSITIVE - a real
positive sound experience.

Nörd - Keine Sterne

Keine Sterne

Stil vor Talent
12.02.2013

The new year reveals a couple of surprises on Stil vor Talent. Among others, we are venturing into the stormy waters of indie-pop with SVT096 'Keine Sterne' by NÖRD, the label's next extraordinary band project. NÖRD are the brothers Paul and Leo Eisenach, who realise their unique musical ideas with drummer Matthias Wendl and the Israel-born keyboarder and sound tinkerer Oded 'KD' Kadar here in Berlin. They love the Beatles, the energy of The Police, The Eels' eccentricity, the linguistic rollercoaster ride that good Hip Hop can be, football and electronic music. Together they sound like hyperactive pop, full of energetic guitars, weird and wonderful synths, big melodies and clever wordplays, which 'Keine Sterne' and 'Ich Breche Zusammen' prove instantly. Oliver Koletzki injects the original mix of 'Keine Sterne' with a dose of electro-pop on his Radio Edit, but also caters for the DJs with his longer, non-vocal Remix, while Sascha Braemer & Dan Caster round off the EP in style with their after hour-centric interpretation.

Opolopo - Superconductor

Opolopo

Superconductor

CDZEDDCD036
Z Records
29.10.2015

Opolopo first hove into view for many as the man behind the genre-crossing house remix of Gregory Porter's '1960 What', a tune that finished in the Top Ten of many DJs in 2012. Labeled future jazz by some, it's only a minor part of the Opolopo story which spans genres like a musical suspension bridge.

Opolopo was born Peter Major in Zirc, Hungary, a short drive away from the beautiful tourist spot Lake Balaton, but spent a large part of his childhood touring around with his keyboardist father, listening to the fusion sounds of Herbie Hancock, Jeff Lorber, Jean-Michel Jarre and Tomita, while finally ending up in his current residence of Sweden. It's little wonder he's ended up where he is.

His work, both on remixes and original productions is imbued with a life spent listening to the soul, funk, jazz and fusion of his youth. Yet, while clearly inspired by the past, Opolopo's work still has enough clank and clamour to suggest its feet are still firmly in the present, whether it's channeling the sound of a 21st century D-Train, dark, fathoms-deep house or doom-laden dubstep. His reworking of St Germain's 'Sure Thing' suggests someone inheriting Ludovic Navarre own jazz-house crown, while 'Treat You' by Omar is underpinned by all sorts of wonkiness while Omar takes care of the topline. His remix and production work has appeared on JVC Japan, Tru Thoughts, Warner Bros, Tokyo Dawn and, of course, Z Records.

Mm Studio - Good Star Dubs Cd

Fabio Monesi / Deymare - Split Grooves Ep Part 2 - Limi

' Wilson return with the sequel to every discernible house DJ's favourite 'Split Grooves' EP - this time on a striking slab of blue vinyl to aesthetically adorn your record collection... Kicking off the EP is Label head Fabio Monesi with '624', which as the title implies appears to be a homage to Kerri Chandler's nom de guerre 623 - not to mention being a follow-up to Fabio's own '623' track on Albion Records' debut 12inch. With a heavy kick, warm bass and driving chords, '624' effortlessly captures the essence of classic New Jersey productions that's synonymous with early 90s house complete with a Milanese twist - tailor-made for a basement, a red light and a feeling.
Next up is 'Wilson's Krime' which in contrast to the warmth of the previous track opts for a more raw, aggressive tip Wild Pitch style complete with an arresting breakdown and inspired use of an old Beatproduction vocal sample preaching 'Just dance and move your body' - one to rinse peak time.
On to the B-Side and Wilson welcome's back Finnish export Deymare who previously featured on Wilson's 'Underground Warriors Part 2' EP. With 'Living The Dream' Deymare concocts a trademark warm groove complete with Chicago claps, uplifting keys and intermittent old-school vocal sample elevating the track over usual house-fare... Rounding off the EP is 'Waxmen' which as the title suggests showcases Deymare's love for records and is a nod to the label's 'vinyl-only' ethos. Coming complete with killer keys, heavy hats and tight percussion complete with an old-school groove, 'Waxmen' wouldn't sound out of place on an old dusty Nu Groove 12inch a la Burrell. '

Various - Remixed With Love By Joey Negro Vol.2 2xcd

20

2015 was another great year for Z Records, a year that saw the release of the new artist album from Opolopo, the Joey Negro compiled Le Freak - a tribute to the sound of Chic, 90's House & Garage and the long awaited Supafunkanova Vol.2 alongside Sean P.
Z Records is starting 2016 in similarly strong fashion with the follow up to Remixed With Love. It's been over two years since the first instalment which topped many sales charts on its release so now the remixes that made up that album have been heard on house and disco dancefloors around the world ever since, it's time for Volume 2. So allow us to present 20 more reworkings of classic soul, funk, disco and boogie tracks from the likes of Grace Jones, Robert Palmer, Cheryl Lynn, The O'Jays, Gwen McCrae, George Benson and many more. Admittedly, we live in a world where remixes and edits of vintage dancefloor anthems aren't exactly hard to come by, in the same way that grains of sand aren't hard to come by on a beach. But where Soundcloud, Beatport et al heave under the weight of a gazillion bootleg offerings, many taking a dusty, scratched old 12-inch or a dodgy MP3 as their starting point, Remixed With Love is a little different. Not only is the man with one of the most legendary record collections in the game guaranteed to dig deeper than most, every track you hear has been (re)created using spanking new analogue transfers of the original multi-track tapes, with the full consent and co-operation of the copyright owners. Which means not only are you getting the best possible sound quality, the creators of the original tracks are getting paid too - as they damn well should be. These multi track tapes also uncovered elements that were not used in the original mixes so Joey has incorporated some of these never before heard parts such as the Grace Jones aerobic workout instruction.

Putting an album like this together is no easy feat, as Dave himself explains in the extensive liner notes that accompany this package. First, you have to get permission from the copyright owners to undertake the project at all - which can in itself entail hundreds of emails and phone calls. Then you have to track down the original tapes - when many may have been recorded over, lost or simply destroyed - and convince the label archivists to get them digitised. And that's before you even start on the remixing... which is when you find half the parts are missing, or you can't foreground that killer piano lick you wanted to because the original was recorded live in the studio and the piano track has the bassline bleeding all over it. The title of this album is extremely appropriate, because for Mr Lee this definitely has been a labour of love!

Various - 20 Years Of Henry Street Music - Ltd. 5x7

imitierte Single-Box mit fünf farbigen7"es.Incredible as it seems, this year marks twenty years since the launch of
Johnny D'Mairo's Henry Street Music label. To celebrate, BBE is marking the occasion with a very special 5 x 7 inch vinyl box set.
Many of the movers and shakers of the day had their best moments on Henry Street, and some of the best of them are represented here: Johnick, Armand Van Helden, Kenny Dope, Ralphi Rosario, Mike Delgado, DJ Sneak, Robbie Tronco, 95 North and Scotti Deep - a veritable roll-call of the premiereleague of dance at the time, an era when dance music still seemed incredibly fertile and the link with its own past is still vital.
Henry Street (named after Brooklyn homeboy Johnny's neighbourhood) always had a 'New York' vibe, and even when drawing its producers from further afield, the label encapsulated the city's melting-pot of talent and raw, bristling energy... energy captured here, and exploding off these remastered
tracks like it's 1999 all over again! So... dust off those dancing shoes, and get ready to feel the heat, it's one more time for
the Henry Street Hustle!

12inchLOVEIT002
Loveit
14.07.2015

The second "LOVEiT" press comes right in time for the festival season and for dusty basements too. SUOLCITY is a young producer from Stuttgart, the spot for house business again. Probably he felt it already as intern at "rocker 33", the club such as Panorama Bar and Robert Johnson. How else could you explain the B-Side "Rush", you had to feel this dubby, gritty bassline. Not hard enough - so maybe "Rush Harder", you can have it all. But still, Stuttgart is heart and soul for some Hip Hop generations, the SUOLCITY is no exception here. The second track might be called/used as "Early Morning Jam", but you can hear this jazzy attitude of some Hip Hop jams and you will love it. "November" delivers great atmosphere with groovy chords and bumpy drums for your deep moments. All in one - great homage to the best side of the 90s! - Prinz Eugen Early Support: Borrowed Identity (Quintessentials / Ostgut Ton): Rush - Evil dance floor weapon! Lay-Far (Local Talk): I love the Early Morning Jam! Peter Clamat (Big Bait Records): Early Morning Jam is my favorite. Tim Toh (Mild Pitch / Philpot): Lovely to hear some new stuff on LOVEiT. These guys keepin' it raw and underground. This 12" consists of stompers and dreamers. At the most i´m a dreamer, therefore "early morning jam" is the one for me. Rainer Trüby (!K7 / Compost): A great release from Suolcity here. Especially diggin´the 2 slower jams "November" and the "Early Morning Jam". Tasty! Full support! Leif Müller (Coccoon / Relax2000): High quality EP! Timeless sound from Suolcity, love his productions since years. Early Morning Jam is my favorite. Diego Krause (Unison Wax / Beste Modus): Rush is definitely my favorite, nice and pumping! Jeremy Underground (My Love Is Underground): "B1 for me, looking forward to try it in clubs!
