Its deft ping-pong riff echoing through classic detuned synth tones and unrelenting beats refusing to stop even for the honeyed evocative tones of singer Christine Eusebio , 'Fantasy' is one of those tracks you'll feel you know but also understand its freshness instantly. The type of track that gets crowds grinning like Cheshire cats the second it pops on... Even though they've never heard it before. Rooted in history, coded in innovation, it's more proof that CYRK's three-headed formula is better than one.
Remix-wise both Pascal Hetzel and Gerome Sportelli remain in Detroit: Pascal looks towards the likes of Mills and UR's 'World Power Alliance' phase for inspiration with his heads-down, militant techno aesthetics while Gerome conjures up sensations of Cybotron and The Preps with his slinky, ice-edged electro adaptation. Both versions take Christine's surging, sensual vocals to new creative pastures... And they've invited you to do the same with the acapella version, too.

There was a time in the mid 90s when the next Barbera Tucker / Masters At Work collaboration was the most eagerly awaited single of all - the follow-up to "Beautiful People" was another strong New york soulful houser - but its all about the Duck dub and the very useful Duck beats!

His musical playground is lo-fi, nerdy and very digital. The 6-track mini-album is his unique exegesis of experimental broken electronic music, based on harmonic algorythms and programmed structures using Linux and a plethora of over 600 half-baked, buggy, highly innovative yet trashy open-source software algorithms. Keeping in sync with this - all the artwork was completely auto-generated by software using an evolution-based artificial intelligence engine called QBist.

Down By The Lake is happy to present Saile, a young musician who was born and raised in Berlin. What instantly caught us was the timelessness of every single element within the sound of Saile. Though being at young age his hardware-only tracks are sweating of love for the golden era of US house music. map.ache (Kann/ Giegling) takes In The End to another hypnotic level, his version is a proper workout, to be heard on the trippy dancefloors across the world soon! Kapote loves the funk. And he loves Blaxploitation movies. The black underground cinema from the 1970ies. Kapote samples dirty talk from these movies and puts it on his bass lines. Melodic basslines with a heavy 1070 funk vibe. Bass lines that can create a sexual tension. Kapote adds a few warm, jazzy rhodes piano chords and a lot of reverbs and filtering. And the music rolls. Often more like a jam then like a constructed piece of music. In the highest points this music is pure endorphin. It's 4 to the floor - but it has a soulful analogue sound. Kapote says he was listening to records from old Detroit label Red Planet and Parisian downtempo pioneers Motorbass and La Funk Mob while making this record. And yes, the vibe is there. Like these guys Kapote likes to build his musical trips around snippets from old funk vinyl. Adding beats with vintage drum machines and creating an eclectic trip into a universe full of jazzy bits, noisy drums and dirty samples.

As we enter into our 3rd year of running Pathway Traxx, we wanted to raise the bar both musically and artistically and this EP certainly delivers that. DJ W!LD has always been a personal favorite of ours we were over the moon when he signed with us. Fresh of the back of his 2014 Album, When you feel me on his own The W Label, this guy is arguably in the form of his life! With an expansive discography backing up his formidable DJing skills, the accolades he's receiving now are simply long-overdue recognition for one of France's long-serving underground house heroes.

The lead track on this EP comes in two forms, the original mix and more tougher dub version. While the original delivers a slightly more laid back summer vibe as the hypnotic filtered chords provide the perfect backdrop for the hair raising vocals. W!ld's simplistic approach to drums and bass lines deliver that raw power we have come to love from him. This track is almost written for those Monday afternoon Circoloco vibes and you can be certain this will be getting plenty of airtime in DC10 over the summer.

As we flip over to the B-side, W!LD continues to deliver his signature stripped back heat with the playfully named "Get Some Balls!". Once again his heavy raw drums do the work here whilst supported by a pumping stripped back bassline. His cleaver use of layered samples and texture let the mind wonder during the breakdown only to be brought back to earth with a bang when the unforgiving groove drops back in.

Last but by no means least, the EP is rounded off with the stomper that he's titled Jew-Jitsu. Again W!LD shows us that less can and always will be more when it comes to his production. The highly addictive ride and clap in this track leave you literally begging for more. All the while his seamless approach to sampling adds the space and flow that brings this track together.

This rounds up our 6th EP and a true land mark in the journey of Pathway Traxx. As always if you like the music, please buy the vinyl

Last year Apollonia dropped their debut album 'Tour à Tour', a collection of tracks that represented their all night long b2b2b sessions. Now the boys proudly present the remixes! Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky have carefully curated a selection of remixers from their closely-knit group of talented friends within the underground scene to create an album of exquisite reinterpretations. Each of the artists who've contributed to the album of reworks has a personal connection to the crew; members of the Lola ED family, friends from foreign lands, French comrades... they're all here and they've all put their own fresh twist on Apollonia's original works. An old hand brings a totally invigorating energy to the heartfelt 'June' as Charles Webster injects his experience into transforming the track into a light, leftfield-leaning soundscape. His rework takes us into dreamland, with smooth washes of synth and tinkling percussion giving it a slight tribal feel. 'Mouche Tsé Tsé' gets not one but two remixes; Hold Youth (Le Loup and Seuil) give it a sleazy, electro lick with a winding bassline and naïve, 8-bit esque FX for those hazy after-hours gatherings. Meanwhile, Thomas Melchior takes thing a little left of centre with his abstract rework full of odd sounds and clattering drums. Two very different versions, but both equally high-quality. Fellow Parisian Terence:Terry: aims straight for the dance floor with his mesmerising mix of 'Sona'. A groove-led production, it relies on a hefty bassline together with crisp percussion and a heady set of pads that will transport you to a higher plain. New York legend Jovonn, a previous contributor to the label and an inspiration to Apollonia, also lends his talents to reconfiguring 'Sona'.

Formed in late 2014, Berlin-based Irish/Australian duo Evvol released their debut album 'Eternalism' via !K7 Records in the summer of 2015. Following European live runs with Peaches and YACHT and worn out by the immediacy of preset-sound achieved through popular computer music programs, the pair holed up in their Kreuzberg studio to write their wonderfully atmospheric and deeply personal 'Physical L.U.V' EP. Released last year to critical acclaim, it's title track has now been given the deluxe remix treatment it deserves, with new cuts from two Dutch artists at the top of their game. Panorama Bar's first lady and Ostgut Records mainstay Steffi kicks things off with a unique, downbeat interpretation of the original, showcasing the beautifully melodic and captivating style that has cemented her status in the realms of contemporary electronic music. Next up her fellow Klakson Records honcho ramps things up with his own audacious take on the track. Dexter's first brush with the electronic music world was on the dancefloor as part of a breakdance crew. Back then he learnt the power of rhythm and how to move a floor, going on to release on Clone, Rush House and Ostgut himself, producing everything from pioneering electro to deeper house and raw techno.

01AM is the perfect time to start a party and it is the first release of a new label by Afrobot related to his Afrobotic Musicology blog. Josh Butler makes an appearance on Definition with his delightfully retro 'Sideways Acid' EP. Opening the 3 track EP is the title track, a rich, thick throwback to the days of Acid House sure to get any dance floor moving in no time. Next, we've got 'Educate', a straight house percussion with a warm rhythmic chord thrown over it. It's relaxed enough to listen to at home, but contains enough energy to be played in the club. Lastly, 'What I Want' starts us off with a nice and heavy beat before building up to a playful bass line and wandering vocal cuts that sit nicely in the background. Believe it or not but Uncanny Valley looks back on five years of releasing records this summer. There was a bit of discussion on how to celebrate this occasion properly. Instead of just turning into the typical Greatest hits-routine the label heads Albrecht, Carl, Conrad and Philipp decided to look back and forth. So, besides a record that unleashes four tracks from the vaults of these five years there will be a record with new material too. Here's "Uncanny Valley: Five Years On Parole - what's happening"! Chinaski is a great artist to open this record as his solo EP for Uncanny Valley is in the making. His dreamy "Angel Heart" has already caused a stir on many dance floors with its enthusiastic synths and bittersweet melodies. Derive on the other hand is a good example for another accompanying factor that was important for Uncanny Valley: collaborations. This time it is UV artist Sneaker and the Greek synth genius June that created the wonderful Krautrock inspired synth odyssey "Schicksalhafte Begegnung". Like Chinaski there is also a solo EP from Panthera Krause for Uncanny Valley at the ready. His pumping "Coochie" is a first foretaste of what is to come. A versatile track that has everything an open-minded listener of Dance music is looking for. Iron Curtis completes the EP with "Ensuite", an Acid driven piece of Electronic music that is just as old school as it is vigorous. Besides lots of other artists, it was former Dresden and now Berlin based artist Paul Waak who had a formative influence on all the visual aspects of Uncanny Valley. Take Daniel Leseman's signature swing and loose arrangements, add a touch of Junktion's knack for jazzy chords and sampling, and you get Fouk. After a set of excellent solo releases on their own Outplay records and Slow Town, the duo now turn to Heist with a killer EP. Kill Frenzy's wobbling bass line might easily be a playful Dave Holland getting into his zone, and all the tiny elements and variations give Kill Frenzy that perfect vibe to really get a party going. Lefty's Bar goes a step further on the jazzy vibe, with the same loose percussion and vintage keys, a lazy horn section and a lovely twisted and turned female vocal sample filtering in and out. Ken sent me is perhaps the most straightforward track on the EP, with Rhodesy pads and a great use of tremolo to give swing to the 4x4 rhythm. Now here's something special. A straight up, bona fide summer smash. A massive dancefloor-smashing beast of a tune. Daniel Dexter continues his long and fruitful relationship with Poker Flat by channelling the sound of classic Clivillés & Cole in 'Deeper Love', an early 90s house bomb that will send shivers down your spine. Underpinned by a resounding synth riff and dancing counter-motif, Kaori Kaneko's vocals provide the perfect foil, packing a powerful and soulful punch. Prolific Parisian Alexkid provides a radical reinterpretation: stripped down, muted and glitchy, with the vocal cut up into fragmented shards that flutter and fibrillate in an ear-tingling fashion. While on the flip, Berlin's Bay Area import Kevin Knapp intones the names of classic Hollywood starlets over the smooth groove of 'Heroine'. The fulcrum of the track - a fat and rubbery analogue bass - comes to the fore on an instrumental mix, perfect for long blends and deeper palettes.

Cromie's quietly become one of LA's most vital house producers. Following a killer debut for NYC-based label Peach alongside fellow Eastsider Sage Caswell (with a remix by none other than Kyle MF Hall), he's been patiently honing his craft. His unique, amped-up vision of house music comes into full view with his Amadeus debut, At Interfaces. Cromie, real name Nikola Hlady, is liberal with the soulful samples. In his case, they're simply a flourish to his fully formed productions. Take the title track. In the breakdown, he introduces a beautiful saxophone solo and the occasional vocal, but they serve only compliment the massive bassline and percolating pads which form the backbone of the song. With Onda, Cromie's melodic gift is on display. A vibraphone lead takes us down a path to some beautiful, nostalgic chords. The B-side is all fascinating rhythms, for the DJs. Tariff' is pure peak-time business. For the closer, Clear To Me,' he's roped in James Del Barco, with whom he throws underground raves in LA. The B2, or 'inside cut,' mixes a hyperactive 2-step kick with a jacking snare and just the right amount of LA G-funk action, with a sampled diva sweetening the mix.
