Ears Have Eyes are ready to drop their 4th release, this time drawing on the fertile pool of talent available in their adopted home of South East London.
We kick off with the duo FYI Chris who, while not manning the counter of Peckham institution Rye Wax, have been putting together an impressive string of releases on labels such as hurch, Lumberjacks from Hell and Rhythm Section.
Nightmare is possibly their darkest offering to date, pairing chugging drums with jagged acid lines.
Up next, the odd and elusive character of Nick Araguay delivers a silky smooth cut of warm, emotive techno.
Hot on the heels of his recent wax on the excellent Peur Bleue imprint, he's definitely an artist to watch out for.
Over on the flip we have Murun B & Ivor E with a fine track of deeply textured techno.

Finishing off proceedings we have a lovely cut of rough yet sparkling house music that shows off the talents of young production duo The Soft.

After a first LP supported by various artist as Rone, Rodriguez JR, Ark, Electric Rescue, Morpheus or Laurent Garnier, Timid Records is proud to announce Arno Gonzalez' s second album: « The Delivery Boy ». More personal (no featuring this time) and more direct into producing process, Arno tells us pieces of his own story: a come back from a gig in Brest (Back From Vauban), a crazy Sunday afternoon (Domingo Dance), a trip to Japan (Kimura), a train ride to Charles De Gaule Airport (Angers/CDG). He also recalls with a dose of sorrow the cycles effects of buzz and modes into music (Less Was More), the old time Techno (The Break), noisy and synthetic Funk (The Message) or the crazy run of a delivery boy (The Delivery Boy) which will be soon clipped by the motion designer Smoh.
The most surprising thing after a first listening is the work on textures and vibes which give consistency to the all album sailing
between electronica, inspired techno and house grooves. Finally, Camille Rodriguez and Damien « Timid Boy » Almira give us 2

Janette Jnett Pitruzzello is considered something of a legend in her home city of Melbourne, where she's been DJing for well over two decades. Here, she delivers her debut solo EP, featuring a quartet of tracks co-produced by Maurice Fulton. The latter also delivers a solo mix of opener Reflection", which adds a little leftfield disco sparkle and percussive sweatiness to an otherwise organ-heavy deep house groove. There's a similarly cheery, funky and disco-tinged feel to the rolling, cut-up house goodness of Swangzipani". Elsewhere, the duo gets a little stranger in pursuit of dancefloor thrills, Bubbles Away' is deliciously dark, wonky and intergalactic, while Judge Not' wanders off into head-nodding, instrumental hip-hop territory.

Expanded re mastered edition of Farley's classic "No Vocals Necessary" EP from 1988. 2 x 12" ranging from distorted acid to funked up disco filtered excursions. Essential!

Made by Mark Imperial & Vinnie Devine as Laurent X, "Machines" was conceived in a 16 track studio with an unquestionable Roland TB-303, but also a TR-808, TR-909, a Juno 106, some FX and a bucket of rib tips. According to Mark Imperial, he and his friends (specially Vinnie Devine) had a mad fun playing with gear.

"I was DJing Italo imports since 1980, and as a regular on the Chicago DJ scene, naturally I became involved in DJ International Records from the beginning", says Mark about how the whole thing started.

It was what we call a 'thinktank', and these young producers all experimented with gear. Mark Imperial's exposure to the acid sounds of TB-303 came from his dear friend Adonis (the one responsible for "No Way Back"), and Mark's exposure to the Juno 106 from Dane Roewade.

About the equipment he made use at that time, Mark also stated: "I visited Detroit and was exposed to the Yamaha DX-100, a mere toy that was a staple to the Detroit sound at the time" (Derrick May, for example, did several of his early tunes' basslines with it, and Kenny Larkin confessed it was the equipment through which he made the etheral pianos of 'Yennek - Serena X' classic).

Mark Imperial continued: "Although I didn't visit Detroit until 1989, Derrick May showed admiration for my track "Jason's Revenge" which I did in 1986", a fact that made Mark believe he was making "Techno" at its very early days.

"Machines" was very, very influential tune as well. In 1988, he thought they were making "Acid", but it also became a quintessential masterpiece to other kinds of House music that appeared since then...

Here's an EP with two songs that are sure to take you back. Originally mixed by the legendary Larry Levan of the world famous Paradise Garage. These two Tracks were both considered anthems when played by Larry himself. Officially released in 1986, but this ''Demo Mix'' of 'Winners' was never released. Larry Levan played this unreleased cut for many years. 'Groove' was never actually released and it was Larry's Secret Weapon!

In January of 2003, both songs will be available for the first time together and are sure to bring back the nostalgia that has tried to be recaptured ever since. Written by Brodie Williams. Mixed by Larry Levan.

Having provided a remix for the label back in 2010 Ethyl & Flori now release their first full ep for the label, 'The Last Ninja' kicks things off with an unmistakable old school tech-house feel which to us at FOF recalled the classic 'Architecture' dj mix by Terry Francis with it's punchy kick, sharp percussion and imbued uplifting warmth. 'Fornjot' by Flori on the flip is a different proposition, although still deeply entrenched in a throwback to yesterdays production stylings, this is a much more techno orientated groove with the tracks repeated metallic bass riff anchoring the track in a gloriously hypnotic yet fresh way.
