In terms of "legendary" House records, it doesn't get any better than LNR's "Can't stop the house".
Originally released in the golden year of 1987 the Chicago duo of Larry Thompson and Rick Lenoir (with a helpful production assist from the mighty Adonis and a dope remix from Steve "Silk" Hurley) crafted this anthemic slab of chunky, funked out jacking House. "Can't stop the house" is a straightforward, stripped back club track, no special FX - just straight up party music for sweaty dancefloors. This official 2016 reissue contains 4 mixes of this stone cold classic - The vocal mix, basement mix, house of trix mix and the rapid edit, all culled from the numerous pressings that came out in 1987 - 1989. In a sense, this is "the complete" collection of this cornerstone of Chicago House. The full set. All audio has been lifted from Rick Lenoir's private collection of reel to reel tapes from his basement and remastered accordingly. This reissue has been realised with the full involvement of Thompson & Lenoir and is 100% legit! Don't snooze, this one deserves a spot in any self respecting House heads record bag or DJ set, classic material made available again for 2016 - You can't stop it!

Following their remix on Alkalino's EP, the mysterious production trio QLab reappear on the DaBit Record label roster, this time with an EP of their own.
This EP kicks off with two remixes on the A-side, the first by way of the Berlin based, Italian producers, 'The Analogue Cops'. The Analogue Cop's turn in an analogue laced, monophonic, growling version of the original track. The Cop's a Moog-esq bass line grows and almost screams, whilst chopped elements of the original track delay in and out. This one is a real foot stomper. Giovanni Damico is enlisted as the second remixer and adds some more funk to the original track, upping the tempo and stripping it back.
The two original tracks occupy the b-side of this EP, both tracks have the same swagger and panache as the Alkalino remix previously delivered to DaBit towers by the QLab boys. 'Why' is a solid slab of jazzy house, carried by a fluttering Rhodes melody. The second track 'Rise' employs a heavier kick drum and bass combination which gives the track a much rawer and club focused sound than 'Why'.
The DaBit crew show they have the ability to think outside of the box on this release, a diverse selection of music which will be found in many DJs record bag.

He's young, gifted and Italian!
Corrado Bucci is the latest star to enter the Local Talk family of house.
He currently holds the A&R position at Rebirth Records where he also put out the beautiful 'Open Your Eyes' single last year.
He previously also released on Defected and has earned respect from people like Gilles Peterson, Jimpster, Dan Curtin, Agoria, X-Press 2, Ben Westbeech and Solomun to name just a few.
The hype is on and Corrado have already started gathering a reputation within the house music community with his symphonic sound that incorporates everything from jazz to electronica.
His Local Talk debut is an instant classic. Starting with 'It's Not Over', a mesmerising piano loops meet a bouncy bass line that makes a magnificent house winner.
Continuing we find the deeper and more melodic title track 'No One Can Stop Us' that features beautiful strings and old-school soul samples.
The EP also includes remixes by Martin Patino (Cadenza, Freerange, Trapez) and Turbojazz (CTHI, GAMM), the former being a total makeover with a dark and gritty big room yet underground feel, while fellow Italian producer Turbojazz gives the same track a more Detroit(ish) jazzy feel.
Deep and melodic but still with a raw feel. .

Having established themselves as one of Anjunadeep's leading acts over the past 12 months with three stunning EPs and notorious bootlegs of Depeche Mode and Radiohead, Cubicolor return with their boldest and most diverse release to date with the 'Down The Wall EP'.
The four track EP has won early DJ support from tastemakers like Lee Burridge and Patrice Baumel, who join a list of supporters that includes Pete Tong and Danny Tengalia.
Title track 'Down The Wall' sets the tone with a warm stuttering bassline rolling beneath subtle melodies and a heady chugging groove. Eerie stabs ebb and flow whilst the surging bass groove bends from subtle spaciousness into towards an effervescent crescendo.
'Clime' continues the trippy vibes with barely-there percussion and a stunning melodic riff that soars alongside soulful vocal hums. 'Cage Of Love' fuses another pulsating groove with distorted bleeps and bags of atmosphere, whilst 'Musicians' takes us down the rabbit hole with driving analogue percussion, spectral melodies and a memorable sample - 'what you're listening to, are musicians forming psychedelic music under the influence of mind altering chemicals'.

Ruff Stuff, also known as Francois Le Roy and Nanni, is a collaboration between two DJs active on the international underground scene for a number of years. Both DJ's grew up during the 90's electronic wave, firstly as hard-core clubbers and then as DJs and vinyl enthusiasts.
Francois Le Roy and Nanni have both had extensive solo careers. Francois Le Roy, grew up in the South of Italy where he was influenced by underground techno from an early age.
Taking to DJ'ing in 1995, Francois quickly became the hottest property on the local scene. Francois's passion for dance music inspired him to branch out from DJ'ing and develop his own sound. In 2006 Francois rose to fame with the MaGmA' international radio network who recruited him as one of their up and coming DJs on the MaGmA Global Groove Radio Show.
In 2010 Francois had a number of releases including, Taj Mahal' a track championed by DJ Pathaan of the UK's BBC Asian Network on his compilation Musical Rickshaw'. This paved the way for the Did You Get it' EP on London based Serotonin Digital, released in 2011. With a host of releases to his name Francois Le Roy brings a wealth of experience to this versatile duo.
Nanni's addiction to music came to a forefront in 2009 as he embarked upon his production career. Coming from the south of Italy, Nanni was influenced by the electronic sounds of the 90's. Garage to Techno with smatterings of House can all be heard in Nanni's productions. Nanni's work with fat basslines, warm synths, chopped vocals and sheer grooves, has seen him drop releases on a variety of record labels.
Despite following different musical paths, the pair decided to merge their experiences and formed a communal project. Originally releasing tracks as Francois Le Roy and Nanni the pair grew in stature, gaining them extensive coverage for their remix of Squarehead's Bats', and their track Going Back to Detroit' saw a stylistic additional mix which also featured on T. William's BBC Radio 1 show.
Now have both worked for a considerable amount of time on their respective solo careers and collaborated on each other's productions, the pair have formed the Ruff Stuff project.
A single unique entity which combines the spirit of both producers, the Ruff Stuff project is rooted in the influences of old school Deep House, Techno and Garage with a propensity to find the newest, freshest sounds.

Quriky Icelandic four-piece Sísý Ey, debut on Andy Butler from Hercules & Love Affair's Mr.Intl label with a huge summer anthem. 'Do It Good' is released in with remixes from Neville Watson, Citizenn, and Andy Butler and is gearing up to be this year hot ticket!
Sísý Ey can only be described as kooky, fierce, energetic and off-the-wall. The three sisters who sing in close vocal harmony forge a wonderfully unique sound that slays dancefloors. Sísý Ey featured on Kasper Bjorke's 'Apart' single in December 2014, and the retro-future classic 'Do It Good' is destined to be an anthem this summer, with additional production from Andy Butler and Constantin from Hercules.
Icelandic band Sísý Ey (pronounced See See Ay) was founded in 2011 to get the three sisters, Elin, Elisabet and Sigga to sing live house music which would serve not only the exquisite combination of their beautiful voices into new and exciting territory, but would also showcase their abilities in a different context as all have more acoustic-driven music careers, working together with producer and DJ, Oculus. The band's main focus is live performance as this is the best environment to experience their one-of-a-kind talent, together with the intense energy of the music. Andy Butler's Mr Intl label is a breeding ground for quality disco dust and a creative outlet for the producer outside of his life as the pioneering Hercules & Love Affair.
Chewed up and spat out the other side of the UK's Acid House scene, Neville Watson was bitten hard by the house music bug and has not looked back since. 2013 saw the release of his debut album through the legendary Crème Organization. Citzenn has recently released his debut Album 'Interface' on Crosstown Rebels to great acclaim, which Andy Butler is busy working on new Hercules & Love Affair material for their forth album.

Audiojack's Gruuv label returns this October with a four-track package from French producer Okain, featuring a remix from Tuccillo. Parisian artist Samuel Thalman aka Okain has quite the standing in contemporary electronic music having been a prominent name as a DJ and producer for the past fifteen years. Playing at some of the leading nightclubs across the globe such as Fabric, Watergate, Space Ibiza, Rex Club and Electric Pickle to name but a few. Thalman's also built quite the respectable back-catalogue in his time, releasing material via the likes of Tsuba, BPitch, Memento and Cadenza, and here we see him add Gruuv to his affiliations.
Kicking off the release is 'Down the Block', seeing Okain offer up a rugged percussion and bass led house cut, fuelled by swinging rhythms, rumbling sub tones, sporadic sax licks and processed vocal lines, opening up the EP on an energetic tip.
'RZ One' follows this, retaining a similar aesthetic with an insistent drive and penetrative low-end, though Okain opts for a grittier production feel here, distorting the drum sounds, instilling expansive, atmospheric reverb tails and drawn out delays alongside hip-hop imbued vocal lines.
On the latter half of the release we have two versions of 'By Your Side', the first of which is the original mix from Okain, which takes on a more stripped-back approach in comparison to the preceding composition's, laying its focus on fluttering synth sounds, a stab-led bass hook and warm motown style vocal chops. 2020Vision artist Tuccillo then rounds off the package with his mix of 'By Your Side', turning in his signature percussive-led style on the mix with intricately programmed drums and a subtle underlying tension that softly bubbles away in the depths over the cuts seven minute duration.
Warehouse Find!
Freerange reaches it's 200th Release and the first wave of DJ response has been amazing. Soul Clap, Josh Wink, Osunlade, Baikal, Breah, Rampa, Wolf & Lamb all loving it.
Jimpster returns with his first original track since his 2013 Porchlight And Rocking Chairs LP.
Andy Hart has been causing a stir with his new label Voyage Recordings becoming a real talking point after just three releases from Harvey Sutherland, Saine, M5K and Andy's own productions.

I am catalogue number 016 on Synapsis Records. Four tunes called 4D Mind Sculpting comprise this 12' that fill up the frequency spectrum with its acid lines, chord progressions, and arpeggiation lines. Four dimensions do not exist in our reality but if one could imagine the extra dimensional sense, then these four compositions are what I imagine.
A1. Arp Love Confusion:
Arp Love Confusion///Strong words of advice begin with a full bass and sparse chords as the percussion strikes in the background. Later an arpeggiation followed by a second arpeggiation happens to create moody and malleable effects. The intensity picks up as the chords swell and the vocals continue, all the elements persist with fluid motion as it slowly descends to a kick at the end.
A2. Leecher:
Leecher///A warm kick and panning arpeggiation begins the composition followed quickly by a melody and then another arpeggiation appears. The percussion is sparse and moving, then an acid line drops that causes counterpoint before becoming the main focus of the tune for a while. The acid line modulates for a bit and leads us back to an arp line. The head bobbing is now in full effect, as all the elements move back in forth and fill up one's eardrum with waveforms. The acid line makes a break and the journey comes to an end with the arp line.
B1. S¸imarik:
S¸imarik///A filtered percussion loop with sparse chords begin the piece. Hi hats come in hot that leads us into acid line which also serves as the melody. Then suddenly a counter melody appears as the chords hit more often. Many modulations occur as the tune moves through time causing great variety due to the decay from the chords. The acid line comes back to do the work and is the focus as the track builds back up just to be deconstructed at the end.
B2. Sensei:
Sensei///The 12" ends with banging percussion complimented with fluttering flute lines. The acid line comes in to add a groove that leads us to a chord progression. The bright chords ride over the top as the acid line modulates. The chords gain steam and the acid line becomes the focus as the synth toms syncopate, the kick also moves around adding additional syncopation. The interplay between the elements continues until the conclusion.

"Rising 2016" is deep and dubby balearic tech house. Netto Houz sampled their classic Ladomat 2000 track "Rising" to produce two versions of a floating and swirling monster, a late transatlantic descendant of electronic krautrock as well as tracky Chicago House. The latter becomes evident when DJ Kriton reworks the drum parts in his jackin' "Rising Beats".
Get two copies of this 10th release on Knuggles Recordings and mix them from breaking dawn to bright morning sunlight!
