The ever evolving and never predictable music venture that is Freaks first materialized as the brainchild of house heroes Luke Solomon and Justin Harris. Having remixed for artists such as Pulp, Damon Albarn and Kasabian and receiving support from a wide selection of artists including Derrick Carter, Damian Lazarus, The Chemical Brothers, Ewan Pearson and Laurent Garnier, there is no doubt that Freaks are a welcomed addition to the Hot Creation's camp. Not to mention they had a top 10 hit in the UK charts in 2007 with 'The Creeps'..
Wonderfully enchanting 'Black Shoes White Socks' oozes the air of a timeless classic, beautifully mystifying with intoxicating vocals and off-kilter Arabian flutes, it showcases immaculate production while perfectly grasping the sound of the new era, edged with popular appeal and disco flare.Up first on remix duty, number one professional Curtis Jones aka Cajmere delivers a dance floor bomb like only he can. This deep groover is pumped with a powerful bass and shoulder shifting clap while an effective play on the vocal is used to maximum effect. Over on the B-side and fresh from his debut EP on the label 'Rainbows', wAFF adds a welcoming dose of techno. This heavy-duty remix is certainly one for peak time, with added vocals submerged in deep, driving energy, this rising star is one to keep a close eye on.

It's not everyday that an EP comes your way after extensive roadtesting by none other than A LOVE FROM OUTERSPACE aka ANDREW WEATHERALL and SEAN JOHNSTON). But an intro email and a gentle nudge from Johnston is indeed how Milan-based BRIOSKI's new EP wound up on THRONE OF BLOOD.

Coming just a few months after the SHORTY EP from Johnston's HARDWAY BROS project, Brioski is continuing a streak of releases on THRONE OF BLOOD which blurs the lines between techno, house and a wild combination of influences, including new beat, electro, balearic, post punk, disco and more. The dark, druggy vibe puts the LATE NIGHT EP alongside Throne of Blood sureshots from Split Secs, Chloe, Bohemian, and Daniel Avery (who's MOVEMENT EP got remixed by Weatherall as well...)

Brioski kicks things off with 'Late Night,' pairing drum machine funk with a warped bassline, smokey atmospherics and some italo synths to lighten the proceedings. The vibes persist even as the tempo falls with 'Hey Gringo,' a slo-mo groover with heavy bass and some spacey vocal samples. 'Let Me Hit' brings things back to the dancefloor, juxtaposing a robotic house loop with one of the biggest basslines we've heard in a while. Brioski's off kilter brand of funk shines, twisting the groove into a leftfield acid breakdown halfway through. 'Rough Sailor' closes out the LATE NIGHT EP, pairing still more analog synths with robofunk bass throbs and a finely tuned handclap.

Veteran Deep House music producer originally from Derbyshire, slowly greying but still looks distinctly average for age, is seeking the ultimate groove for creation. Must be up for good times, deep beats, soulful vibes and the occasional chilled night in.

Art Department Presents Martina Topley Bird Featuring Mark Lanegan & Warpaint - 'Crystalised' is a re-imagining of The xx's modern classic of the same name. The original down-tempo version will be released on digital, featured on the 12' are remixes from Director's Cut aka bona-fide house legend Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper, French luminary Agoria and close label associate Deniz Kurtel.

Masterfully re-built from the bottom up with Warpaint's instrumentation and vocals from Martina Topley Bird and celebrated American singer-songwriter Mark Lanegan, the original was then remixed to perfection for the 12'. There are two versions from Directors Cut (Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper), the first is an impossible not to love Signature Mix and realigns the track for dance floor purposes. It's bouncy, airy and lush with gentle-jazz chords that emphasis the sweetness of the original version's vocals from Topley Bird. It's sweet and classic house music that will never sound old and is a typically masterful remix from the legend that is Knuckles and comes backed with a dub version.

Former Infine boss and revered French producer Agoria then turns his hand to the track, slowing it down to a beautifully melancholic piece of deep house complete with heart-wrenchingly draped piano chords. It's a sublime remix of an already sublime track that Dixon loved so much he provided his own vocal re-touch of Agoria's epic original. Crosstown Rebels and Wolf + Lamb associate Deniz Kurtel's version is just as special. This version is darker and more roughshod round the edges, as is often Kurtel's way: there's great swing in the drums and moody vibes pervade from start to finish, with the vocal now sounding suitably ominous in the midst of it all.

Martina Topley Bird is arguably best known for providing vocals on trip-hop pioneer Tricky's debut album and Massive Attack's Paradise Circus LP, but has also amassed her own enviable discography thanks to albums like Quixotic. Mark Lanegan of course is an internationally acclaimed alternate rock musician who has worked with everyone from Kurt Cobain to Bomb the Bass, and for more than a decade has been a steady contributor to Queens of the Stone Age, featuring on a number of their albums between 2002 and 2013. Completing this heavyweight collaboration is Warpaint, the LA based indie band that deals in art and psychedelic rock as well as dreamier pop soundscapes.

No19 is a label known for pioneering its own sounds, and this latest genre-blurring single package is sure to prove their most emphatic release yet.

Jesse Perez is the new kid on the Hot Creations block and he launches straight into the fire with a double hitter of old school nostalgia and heavy hip house grooves, 'Jesse Don't Sport No Jerri Curl'.

A-side 'Jesse Don't Sport No Jerri Curl' is big and bumpy, with a lot of attitude coursing that heavy old school bassline. Lashings of ghetto funk and plenty of sleaze, it's best served in a steamy club on a monster sound system with a side of scantily dressed and grinding boys and girls. B-side 'Dejen De Comer Tanta Pinga' - featuring warped vocals and a Perez twisted mantra is another old school banger with a nonchalant percussive groove of cowbells, techy hi-hats and another 80s elastic fantastic bassline.

Born in Little Havana (a small Latin neighbourhood in Miami), Jesse Perez had a colourful upbringing textured by early exposure to booty-shaking music and sneaked experiences alongside his stage-dancing mother. After a stint in the porn business, Jesse started the label Mr. Nice Guy Records and started spreading his unapologetically bad boy house music gospel with releases on an array of the Miami undergrounds labels including Stereo Productions, Spica Records and Booty Breaks. Now with a tight two tracker for Hot Creations, this Miami boy is about to fly.

The second offering from Brooklyn-based Let's Play House offshoot, Room Service, is, like the first one, a four-track solo EP by one of the most exciting house music talent's around. RECORDS features four originals by Spanish producer Kresy, who's already released a few 12"s on the esteemed Hivern Discs as well as Retrofit, Freerange, and his own Discomaths. The songs included here vacillate between hands-in-the-air feel good disco and jittery, shuffling house, though they're all unified by an inherent grooviness and bright tonality.

HOLIC Trax was founded in 2012 by Berlin based DJ/Producer Tomoki Tamura and now serves up its 15th release from none other than Detroit music making machine Rick Wade of Harmonie Park and Moods & Grooves association. TBA shortly.

Don't forget to go home contains the rhythmic personality of Lucianno Villarreal and Sombro, two faces of the same coin.
On one side we have Villarreal sense of swing and musical mischief, soulful vocals and ghetto beatz, on the other we have a dancefloor horiented "Move back"from Sombro and the more classy "time to jack" reveals the true nature of this records, make your body move to the groove and not letting you go back to normal life outside the club.

Takes the Sludge sound into another dimension: "Cheddar Bae" shows Applewhite's more Ghettotech side w/insanely catchy call & response vocal hook. "Mouthwork" has a drag gin juke beat, w/Ashbaby pimping the Dance Mania vibe.

The producing duo from Milan, launch a new series of 12' white labels dedicated to the exploration of the different souls of their musical path.The first release includes four tracks with different identities and a common trait: warm atmospheres and thick grooves.

Luke Hess' Dimension.D EP is the 5th release on his own DeepLabs Detroit imprint. The title track Dimension.D is a perfect balance between house and techno, and it contains all the right signals for becoming a future Detroit classic. Dimension.D creates the frenzy of a dance floor filler with robotic vocals, raw Detroit stabs, and funky-tweaky percussion grooves. The Dimension.D VOX Reshape is a loose and beat-less version of the title track with a focus on the robotic vocal surrounded by tape processing and the introduction of new analog elements. Mission.106 takes up the entire B-side of the record and is a dark melodic Detroit techno gem, reminiscent of classic mid-90's Detroit warehouse music and suitable for heavy rotation on all serious sound systems.

The Bush is a homage to the place where I have lived for the last decade (Askew Road). The Askew Road itself is slowly changing so I wanted to document all the places that play a big part in mine and my families' lives before they eventually get sold for more flats or Tescos. 002 was all about the mighty Sun pub which has now been sold and transformed into a Costa coffee and an estate agents. Next up is our local park which hopefully will never see change as its been our little slice of heaven in w12 since we moved here.
