Ellum drop another killer release with a WhoMadeWho remix EP of 'Heads Above' and 'Hiding In Darkness', both tracks feature on WhoMadeWho's latest album 'Dreams'. Maceo Plex works his magic on 'Head's Above', whilst Mario Basanov (Ten Walls) and Kyson remix 'Hiding in Darkness'

'Dreams' is WhoMadeWho's fifth studio album and features the two original versions of these tracks. Maceo Plex has always been a fan of the Danish 3 piece founded in 2003, and jumped at the chance to remix 'Heads Above' and release it on Ellum. Along with Maceo Plex's monumental, barnstorming remix and dirt dub, are featured Mario Basanov, of Ten Walls fame, hypnotically infectious remix and Kyson, atmospherically charged remake of 'Hiding In Darkness'.

The result has been a salvo of raucous, dancefloor-focused records joining the dots between classic Chicago acid and ghetto house, hints of UK garage's compulsive bump 'n' swing, old-skool hardcore and the brusque splatter of the Bunker Records sound — a vivid hybrid sound that channels sheer energy in the club.Burnin' Up picks up and expands on that track record to date. Gathering twelve brand new club tracks, including collaborations with Innershades and Chambray, it showcases Haus as a dancefloor alchemist par excellence. After a busy year that saw releases on Funkineven's Apron and Classic, Seven Davis Jr returns to London's Ninja Tune with a new LP, his second to date and a follow-up to this year's Wild Hearts EP for the same label. Universes is a stunning body of music comprised of fifteen tracks, all of which showcase Seven's many different styles and abilities behind the mixing desk...after all, it is called Universes! Our favourite moments have to be "Everybody Too Cool" because it reminds us of Outkast at their most daring, the off-kilter beats of "Karma", "Options" and its pseudo techno stance, and the abstract soul wails of "Fighters". Check it, there's plenty of goodness inside.

Hello together, we are Jürgen Graf and Christian Nainggolan. Together we are YOKTO. Both of us have a long standing interest in electronic music in general and electronic dance music in particular. The studio of YOKTO is sited in my home in the countryside close to the french border in Saarland (Germany). We meet up regularly on Fridays in order to get our tracks done and having a good time. The geographic location of the studio has advantages for us. On the one hand, we can fully concentrate on our work and are not distracted. On the other hand, we enjoy the culinarily delicacies from our french neighbors, like wine, oil, cheese and baguette, before leaving the kitchen and going to the studio, beginning with our recording sessions. Having a good mood in the studio is something really essential for us. The reason for this is due to the fact, that we create music using our brains, our souls and our backsides. And these organs are exactly what we want to put in resonance with our audience. Sometimes we play music in small- and mid-sized clubs. The grass roots of our work is House Music and all its manifold derivatives. This is fundamental for our work in the studio and also for our appearence in the club. If we have the chance to present our musical vision the whole night, we are pleased to begin the night playing experimental music or ambient and then draw an arc which incorporates the various styles of House. Of course, we always have an eye on the crowd on the dancefloor in order to maximize the fun for both. It is very important for us, being state-o-the-art when it comes to our track selection, despite playing seminal tracks from the past. By the way, Christian and I met a little earlier. This was in the year 2000 at the Plattentasche in Karlsruhe, a record store that sold vinyls. A lovely store where local DJs hang up, sharing the latest news and having one or two cups of coffee. At that time, Christian was one of the owners and throughout his work in the vinyl store and as a DJ in the clubs, he had a vast influence on the local House scene and the musical socialization for many DJs in that region. I for myself was heavily involved in my subjects at university at that time and thus spinned more or less regularly the records at self-organized parties or clubs in town. Additionally, Christian had a job as a freelancer for the ZKM. For reasons of this, we have started our musical career so late. Nowadays, we are grateful for every moment that we can spend in the studio or the club.

What can you expect from a YOKTO track: "modern house with vintage attitude!

Italian producer and classic Chicago house student Simoncino has long been an analogue master thanks to his EPs and LPs on labels like Mathematics, L.I.E.S. and Echovolt and now returns once more to Creme Organization for four tracks made using a wealth of Roland machines. Opener 'Meggaton' is a sombre, downbeat house affair with a doom laden one note bass sound that reverbs forever. The title track - surely named in homage to legendary New York City producer Bobby Konders - is a snaking, spiritual deep house jam shrouded in mystery and fuzzy textures that puts most 'deep' house to shame. On the flip, 'Pyramids' is a stuttering, staggering percussive house jam that builds pressure before relieving it with some seriously emotional synths, then 'Space Is The Place' wallows down low in a thick baseline, is paired with crisp and icy hi hats and exposes some nicely starry night skies up top. Video channel Tape Archive brings tracks on wax for the first time with a three tracker from unknown producer F.T.F. Filling the gap from youtube to vinyl with stomping basses, heavy hihats and power melodies, the EP provide weapons for the dance floor with unique aesthetic. Beware of the ninja waiting for you in the dark.

Local Talk release number 66 moves in deeper territories with a duo that needs no further introduction, Greg Dowling, Shane Johnson aka Fish Go Deep.These two fine gents have been releasing music for more than two decades. Both Greg & Shane played an integral part in the emergence of House music in Cork City between the years of 1988 and 2001 as their well renowned 'Sweat' night at Sir Henrys helped to attract a host of talent, such as Kerri Chandler, Laurent Garnier, DJ Deep, Glenn Underground, Derrick May just to name a few.
It's a big, big honour to have them on aboard for this debut on Local Talk. First track, Off Script, takes us straight back to the days of Prescription. The driving kick and bassline, warm pads and a hypnotic melody line that crescendos throughout the track keeping you hooked from start to finish.
On the flip, Northern Reach, follows on the same theme. It hits deep, the strings adds that extra bit of drama and again showing the duo's skill in creating perfect atmospheric and timeless deep house. You wouldn't be surprised to hear Dixon drop this in a DJ set.

Timothy J. Fairplay's label Centurians Of Rome is back with its first vinyl release, after Timothy's 2013/14's cassette only mini albums 'Good For Driving In The Night' & 'The Promise Of Midi'. COR003 signals the return of the mysterious & enigmatic Antoine Rouge. After the release of the 'Spook Juke' EP on Timothy J. Fairplay & Scott Frasers Crimes Of The Future label Antoine disappeared, reports of his death in the French media last year remained unconfirmed and then in February this year he walked into Timothy's studio saying he'd spent the last year focusing on playing 'Hero Quest'. 'Eye of The Star Warrior' follows on stylistically from his debut EP. Produced entirely on junkshop preset keyboards, as after what happened before these are the only synths Timothy will let Antoine borrow. Four Trax of transcendental phase distortion Wavehouse from the self proclaimed Star Warrior.

Dept. is a Helsinki based, newly found record label and music collective. Their VA1 contains originals by Dept. regulars, Denzel and Bravik supported with remixes from Satoi and the legendary electronic music pioneer, Fred P.
Denzel's "About Greatness" exhibits classic house vibes infused with a modern approach utilising a rich palette of rhythms, pads and a monologue which guides the listener through the track. Satoi's remix pushes the original towards a technoish form with a more straightforward and darker yet melodic take.
In contrast Bravik's track "130314" is a summerish and monotonic, uptempo stomper which contains a finely refined contrast between the distorted rhythms, sub bass and synth stabs. In the reshape Fred P has traditionally taken the track to a completely new path by tweaking the original elements to an unrecognisable state, creating an atmospheric and funk-esque house track.
Dept. VA1 is an intriguing combination in the best possible way.
