A little trip into the New York and Jersey house realms. Here the House Ala Carte project of Jovonn restored and available again, a release which may not be representative for the majority of Jovonn's work, but in our eyes probably one of the most unique releases he did. Originally released on Project X records in 1993

Philadelphia's Fox brings an eclectic array of sounds and artists together for his first vinyl release on Jersey City based label Green Village. Their third vinyl release showcases tracks with slanted percussion and multiple flavors of techno and breaks. The accompanying remixes from Fabricator and Undrig bring you a taste of 2step as well as a classic big room Dubstep sounds.

Instead, Vinyl Only wants to let the music speak for itself - keep it simple - if you don't like it today then thats cool, we get we can't please all the people, all of the time. However if don't buy from Juno today please dont whine to us when you'll be forced to spend the better part of double/treble the price for this very same release on Discogs in a few years time.

Four shady but sexy house cuts on the mighty ViewleXXX, still going strong...

Pocket Money returns for their third release and they are back with what could easily be their strongest output yet.
Just hitting the ripe old age of one, and a couple of releases in, this label has found its stride nicely and starting to turn heads in the scene.
Taking the spotlight for the Deep Basics EP is the producer Keepin Soul, who may only have a handful of releases to his name but puts himself in the spotlight with this deep and meaningful pocket money release.
This is a beautifully dusty sounding record, it opens up doing exactly what it says on the tin - Deep Basics and doing them well.
This A1 is all about hypnotic grooves undulating against the drive of crisp, warm and exciting percussive grooves.
I Can't Stop picks the energy up slightly on the record, but is still treated to the same lavish warmth and tradition of the opening track, as the vocal swirls and dreamily drifts off into the night, its hard not to fall in love with this track.
Flip the record and your greeted with Sun's Gonna Rise, a faster paced track laced with a groovy filtered riff. It's clear that Keepin' Soul has a fantastic skill of switching arrangements to keep everything in exactly the right place.
The B2 brings us to the party piece of the record. Love is... breaks out the vocals, organs, splashy hats and heads for the dance floor, fantastic energy in amongst a beautifully constructed EP. If your looking for an authentic experience that will draw you in this is a record you should not miss.

Wax Pistols - a young, Hanover based DIY label which stands for simple, authentic house influenced music. Aim is the principle of simplicity, to create handmade music released on a catchable medium.

The label combines classic ascendancies and passion for analogue music apart from any kind of digital as well as technical capabilities. Basis is to keep simple things as an aesthetically feature in its purest way and lastly: crude, honest and danceable.

The debute 4-Tracker by Wax Pistols owners Dub Jamz , is introducing first impressions of what you can expect from this imprint in the near future.

The fourth sampler 12" taken from GLENN's "BLACK RESURRECTION" CD. This features "SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING" on the A-side, a deep spiritual jazz house instrumental full of intricate key and drum patterns, backed with "OUT OF MIND", an upbeat house track with a female vocal. (A)

After a string of releases for Omena, Transatlantyk and Studio Barnhus, Wroclaw-based Naphta delivers his first EP for Maciek Sienkiewicz's FASRAT label. This is house music like you've never heard before - loose, freaky, hippie, voodoo machine funk, highly infectious grooves for any modern dancefloor. As always FASRAT delivers also a stunning artwork - this time by renowned graphic designer Ania Goszczynska.

Chicago's own Specter of Tetrode fame joins the Sounds Familiar family and series of 45s with a double A-sider. 'Circus Time' is an hipnotic disco stomper, while 'Concrete Jungle' will please all the afro-funk headz!

Northern England's Turquoise Blue imprint delivers the 'Parallel Minds' EP this September, coming
courtesy of French duo Yamen & EDA, backed with remixes from Terence:Terry and John Dimas.

Yamen & EDA aka Hadrien Alaoui & Francois Sauri were born and raised in the south of France, since hooking
up in 2011 and starting to produce material together the duo have found themselves playing sets at some of
Europe's most influential nightclubs, such as Watergate (Berlin), Social Club (Paris) and The Garage (Leeds).
Here we see the pair offer up an EP for the ever on-point Turquoise Blue imprint, and with material forthcoming
on One Records and the launch of their Rawmance LTD label, evidently these two are ones to watch over the
coming months and 2015.

Kicking off the release is the original mix of 'Windmill', a stripped percussive-led number fuelled by sparse,
minimalistic drums, rumbling sub-bass tones and mind-bending vocal murmurs. La Vie En Rose owner
Terence:Terry steps up to rework 'Windmill' to follow, upping the energy levels with the percussive aspects,
and bringing a more stab focused resonant bass hook to the forefront.

Second on the original content from the duo we have 'Physicall', embracing a similar low-slung aesthetic to the
preceding cut the pair blend shuffling rhythms and processed spoken word vocals with swirling ethereal pad
sounds and subtly programmed bass hits to create a smooth, hypnotic number. Berlin-based John Dimas
reshaphes 'Physicall' next with his 'Warped Mix', and as the name would suggest Dimas re-twists the original
number into a fluttering, heavily processed interpretation.

Damien Lynch is a gentleman you've met in a past life. Emerging with this debut, he steps nicely into a home at the ESP Institute. On side A, we're invited to The Heights, a transcendent state
where the negative space between the notes is equally as important as his lush instrumentation. Damien's build-up of warm analogue machines twinkle and stab, leading way to a memorable
hook, a squelching chord melody full of live nuance and energy. On side B, Safe House plays out a similar theme in terms of arrangement, however, the ethereal space Damien creates with
the kalimba and driving arpeggios elevates us to an even higher plane, where his lead floats gracefully across the stereo spectrum, blanketing the fast-paced rhythms with a calming sense
of purity. We're serious when we say that these two songs will guide you toward enlightenment.

124Recordings return for their final release for 2013,the follow up to the original 'Undeground Frequencies' EP that helped establish the label back in December.Again it features four producers covering all bases of house music.First up and needing no introduction is well respected producer James Johnston with the solid percussive drive of 'Dont Need U' underpinned by a huge reversed bassline,punchy chords and hypnotic female vocal.Next is rising talent Liam Geddes who takes things deeper with 'Besoin D'Amour' with its soothing spoken vocal ,delicate pads complete with depth charge sub and twisted horn sample.Third is the pairing of two producers/label owners,Tom Lynch from WeCtrl/Development Music and Eddie Leader of Hudd Traxx.Here 'Mrs Saturday Night' slowly builds with delicate layers of bubbling synth before a sublime breakdown takes the track into a completely different direction.Finally but by no means least is Banjax with 'Smoked' a real throwback to the warehouse days with its shuddering bass leading into bouncy chords and heavy 909 percussion.

Carl Craig needs no introduction, he has been at the forefront of the international Techno scene for over 20 years and has amassed a truly enviable back catalog of releases utilizing various pseudonyms and collaborating with many different artists during his stellar career. One of the Detroit natives most enduring and popular guises has been his Paperclip People project which has been active since 1991. "Country Boy Goes Dub" was originally released in 1996 on the seminal Paperclip People Long-player "The Secret Tapes Of Dr.Eich". It's blend of samples, metallic drum machines, 808's, guitar loops and serious dubwise tendencies made it stand out instantly. As with a lot of Craig's legendary productions it had that otherworldly swing, an incessant groove and a melding of various styles, sounds and influences informing it's spirit.

It's these elements that Berghain resident and international Techno taste maker Marcel Dettmann has distilled into something more stripped back and closer to the dub leanings of the original version with his remix. First heard on his Fabric mix CD and not available in any un-mixed format (until now) it has been causing quite a stir within the Techno community. Sounding like a long lost cousin of Basic Channel, Dettmann's remix comes off like the perfect marriage between steppers Reggae rhythms and Techno; tight rim-shot drums, dubbed out synthesizer stabs and an ultra deep rolling bass-line all punctuated by Craig's original 808 drum machine programming.

An essential release featuring both the original and remixed versions & the first release on Planet E for 2015. One for the true Techno connoisseurs available on vinyl only for now. The first 500 come on red vinyl.

In certain times special things reoccur. RayDilla returns to his warm PULP home with a balanced 4-track EP. The title track 'The Feeling' is that signature Raydilla sound that combines nice thick drums with a grooving bassline and some moody chords nicely sitting on top. The vocal sample comes in sporadically to finish it off.
On the A2, PULP casual 'DaRand Land' delivers a somewhat darker remix that emphasizes on a pitched down vocal and hauling strings. The arpeggiated bassline is reminiscent of top notch classic house music from the golden era. The B side is opened by the special groover 'Acceleration', a funky effort that really has that special touch because of the unusual chord progressions and swinging drums. On the B2 cut 'RayDilla' gets even deeper into a vary of chord sounds and chooses to close down his latest effort with some funkin bassline action. Essential works for all lovers of the previous PULP releases.

Jason Kincade aka The Mayor writes: I've been given the task of writing about three new instalments in the channel xxx series, inspired by the late, great Mangiami restaurant.
From 2006 until its lamented closing in 2012 Mangiami was the downtown clubhouse for a very New York cross-section of DJs, artists, musicians, fashion people, music obsessives and assorted layabouts.

On any given night of the week you knew that within an hour of sitting down at the bar any number of your friends would soon appear, and be entertained by the massively charming owner, Gianfranco.
Then there were the DJ nights. Every Monday (and later Wednesday) from after work until far too late on a weeknight pretty much a who's who of local heroes and international superstars would play on the rickety old Technics sat on the bar, with mayhem and general debauchery to follow.

It wouldn't be a surprise to come in one night and find DJ Harvey at a table with Tim Sweeney next to Alex from Tokyo and Bing Ji Ling with Eric Duncan manning the decks and 100 people crowded into the tiny space and spilling out into the street.

These three 12s by some of the artists that frequented Mangiami, coming in advance of a compilation of original material on Golf Channel, are a pretty accurate view of what went on there.
From low-slung fuzzed out sleaze through gritty roadhouse blues via stringy guitar solo led disco to bubbly, infectious afro disco and finally dubby, reverb-ed out sheer lying on the floor madness there is something for all moods to reflect the eclectic shenanigans that went on in that now hallowed space.
Whilst I am not at liberty to reveal the identities behind these recordings, the word 'luminaries' definitely springs to mind - cop the vinyl and all will be revealed.

TFQ005 starts with the title track 'The Art Of Loving' which could be named a classic deep house track but with some delicate magical elements.
Warm and intricate yet heavy construction, and a mesmerising effect on the floor. Next up, 'Stoya' is a collaboration with BfAM from Barcelona and an impressive deep houser which slows it down a bit. The heavy bass line in combination with the discoid claps and the background pads straight from the basement captures you and won't let you hide.

On the flip, 'Back To Back' is a co-production with long term friend, music colleague and sound wizard Paradice. The result is an indescribable soul catching piece of music.

Ugly Drums’ Version of the main title track fits perfectly in the context of the whole EP. It gives a perfect thematic frame, reworking the original parts in their definitive style. Flavoured with some concise Ugly Drums moments, genially arranged cuts and a murder bass line it is the perfect start for a warm set

TFQ005 is a diverse dance floor filler but also a listener for your speakers at home.
