The man that represents the deeper side of Amsterdam house is back on Dirt Crew. His last outing on Detroit Swindle's Heist Recordings', the Le Troubadour EP' was another fine example of that laid back funky deep house only Nachtbraker can squeeze out. Settling into the groove immediately is 'Hump', bouncing chords and a warbling Rhodes lead into an irresistible bass line. The title track, 'Backstabber' hits right in the hips, a chugging feel good work out for the dance floor. The flip remains true to the flavor of this whole EP, offering up a massive speaker rattling bottom end and funk flavored keys on Time Is Of The Essence', while 'Monday Mourning' steps up with expertly cut disco samples, an effervescent excursion with a jazzy lead and a touch of vocoder for good measure. The release is rounded out with digi only offering 'Yaaa', a sub driven deep house work out, boasting swelling loops and hypnotic percussion. Nachtbraker's sharp sense of harmony and knack for vibe is ever present throughout this whole release, he has truly fine tuned his sound to a perfect balance of unbounded energy and stylish musicianship. We are happy to welcome him back on Dirt Crew with this classy release.

"What $ Love" is one of Romanthony's rarest songs. These original house mixes are one of his most sought after pieces of vinyl with pristine copies selling for upwards of £100.
Roman did make an R&B version on his Glasgow Underground album but the house mixes with their low-slung dubby organ & bass grooves are the real dj deal with the Westside Highway Mix' still in many A-list house djs bags.

Contrary to their antipodean name the 'Marsupials' are not Australian or for that matter New Zealanders. They are in fact a collective of Italian producers residing next to the active volcano of Mount Vesuvius in the city of Naples, Italy. The collective have come from unknowns to gardening releases on Sccucci Manucci, Seven Music and of course our imprint Dabit Records.
The 'Taxonomy EP' is a 4 track vinyl which packs the deep house goodness that we have come to expect from Dabit Records. Kicking the EP off in style is 'Numbat' a bumping, gospel laden, side compressed groover. Next up is the organ roller 'Bilby', which gives a cheeky nod to Chicago house sound. The 3rd track on the EP entitled 'Opossum' swings harder than a married couple in the Seventies. Last up is 'Quoll'... sounding like some roots NYC House with its filtered sax rift and 'What Did I Do' refrain. The 'Taxonomy EP' is a solid house release and the Marsupial's have a good future ahead of them.
The vinyl package comes limited to 200 copies. Each vinyl sleeve has been hand painted by Sicilian Artist Giuseppe 'Piscal' Scaltrito. Piscal is a contemporary artist who has exhibited in Milan, Florence, Palermo, Venice and Rome. His brief was to paint Australia (in keeping with the theme of the EP), he settled on three colours that for him characterized Australia. The collection of 200 painted sleeves is entitled 'Paesaggio Australiano', and makes this package from Dabit Records a real collectors item.

4th and final part of this legendary Morris Audio compilation series bringing some new (Origins Sound, ManooZ) and old faces (Volta Cab, Julien Sandre), but keeping the house vibe in different shades. Up and coming Origins Sound (Glasgow Underground, Lost) present a bassy pumping UK house tune whereas Volta Cab (Kolour, Hypercolour) goes back the the rave days and invites us to some hardcore heaven. The flipside starts with Morris Audio buddy Julien Sandre, who is still some kind of "secret underground weapon", even if he already released on Argy's "These Days" label or on Tsuba. Finishing off the EP is ManooZ (Alive, Extended Play) with a great deep and raw house tune. This all is for you, seven daze a week!

Käse Kool brings you its third installment of the Da Fromager series with four unique artists. The first track on side A comes from none other than Lyon-based producer Ortella. Having already amassed five releases on both of Dj Steaw's imprints--Steaward and Rutilance Recordings--Ortella lends his signature sound of dubby techno house to the release. A2 comes from the Melbourne native, Kid Only, a new face to the scene with a lot of potential. His track "Recovery" is a stripped-down, 4/4 tooly tune with bouncy kick & bass combination. Flipping to the other side, the next tune comes from London-based native Mikki Funk. Having built quite the reputation for himself with releases on Deep Down Slam, Made Fresh Daily, and Oli Furness's Music Is Love, Mikki's track brings some bassy '90s flavour to the release. Lastly, B2 comes from Brunbjörn (formerly know as as Brunbjrn). Having already made his debut on Käse Kool's first release, he is back with another swingy groove of sheer bliss.

Kool Vibe's music today reflects the best of the 90s House music sounds that he manages to capture so well. After releasing on My Love Is Underground & Traxx Underground in 2011 and 2012, the French producer launched his very own label KV Records in 2013.
Here he comes back with a new solo project on his own label : The Black & White Project (Pt.1 & Pt.2) Both records will be sold separately. These two EPs invite you to a musical journey through 8 tracks which definitely prove Mr. Vibe's unconditional love for House music. Every track is a dedication to the essential vibes of the 90s and a joyful reminder of those original days when House music was in the making.

Residing in Los Angeles, California, Seven Davis Jr was raised on the classics - from Michael Jackson and Prince to Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin. His early self-released output, however, was more closely aligned to the city's vibrant left-leaning electronic underground. The past 18 months have seen Seven skip from a retrospective EP via Kutmah's IZWID imprint to 12"s with Must Have Records, Classic, Ten Thousand Yen (alongside Doc Daneeka) and Funkineven's Apron Records on a Peven Everett vs. Sa-Ra vs. Derrick Carter flex.
The perfect Valentine's gift for those who like their smoothness a little rough around the edges, "Wild Hearts" and "Let Somebody Love You" distil the soup of influences above into two delightfully dishevelled, groove-ridden, catchy-as-hell nuggets... nocturnal fonque of the highest order. His debut album is due later this year.

Here is a groundbreaking diverse 3-trackers from the G-Man, Gari Romalis, back on Dockside Records. Pure Detroit fuel, mid-house funk injected / mid-straight to the floor unpolished house sound.Feel it, buy it before it's too late.«I made this EP to show that you don't have to have the latest greatest, you just have to use what you got to get what you want out of it. The name Soundvisionary» comes from my love for vinyl and how it sounds. I use that old sound to power my production for the future. You can't go wrong with the basics, the past is the future. Each track on the EP is how I was feeling on that particular day. My tracks are based on feel, if I don't feel it I don't do it.
The mothership has landed.»

If you've followed Local Talk thru the years you've most likely noticed how we like to throw a few curve-balls every now and then. For our 65th release we've got Gomma boss Mathias Modica aka Munk and NDATL head honcho Kai Alce sharing the black gold. Two producers with their own unique style presenting something special.
While Munk's original version of Hot Medusa is a shimmering and warm head-nodding & toe-tapping jam, the remix by Mr Alce is deep, soulful and musically rich House.
Two very different takes on one track, take your pick.
On the flip Munk delivers Purple Dust. This time he's upped the tempo a few bpm's, accompanied by a deep bassline with lush melodic synths and chords.
Mr Alce ends the 12" with a dub of Hot Medusa which is brilliant from start to finish. Another highly recommended and essential release.

We're back with Aria Rostami's Czarat EP, Spring Theory's sophmore release. Rostami is a San Francisco-based musician whose roots extend off into theoretical dimensions far beyond conventional dancefloor fodder (his material has appeared on labels like Audiobulb and Crash Symbols). For Czarat, however, he's honed his approach to produce an unusual dancefloor anthem. Melding influences from around the world, the song arrives at something that sounds like acid house and techno as interpreted through an internet-enabled, information rich dialog of the present moment.
The names of the songs on the release hint at this culture clash. Opener "Czarat" is a fusion of the Russian word "Czar" and the ancient Persian god "Zarathustra." Rostami refers to this as a "cultural mishmash" and ultimately the names are a nonsense words, creating something new from familiar ideas. The song stands as a reference to the melting pot of disparate sounds within: Motorik Krautrock and North African rhythmic pulsations, Arab synth solos, Chicago acid lines, and Japanese riffing results in an overarching East meets West sensibility, gelling together to create something novel from a chaotic, contemporary trans-cultural communication. And while seemingly heady in its references, hidden beneath its surface is a banging house music core that positions the track well for those moments when the spotlights cut out and the strobes kick in.
Or, for less intense moments, LA's Secret Circuit takes Rostami's original and re-interprets it as sunny Balearica, with warm acoustic guitars and delay washes that make for a round, mellow feeling that keeps the energy laidback, sleek, and sexy — like a tripped-out renegade party on some forgotten beach along California's Pacific Coast Highway.
Finally, "Vietnamoses" rounds things out. A completely different direction, it reveals aspects of Rostami's more experimental side, with a downtempo feeling inspired by (but, we stress, not evocative of) dub-techno juxtaposed with less overt influences from music around the world with it's twangs and drones. Space is the key here — his whipping drum patterns lull a hypnotic trance beneath massive walls of metallic echo and delay and a heightened focus on transition (one of Rostami's favorite themes) allows the song to grow in unexpected ways.
