King Street Sounds and Dope Jams team up again in re-releasing more fine jewels from NYC's heyday, all featured on the latter's celebrated 2012 "Classic House Grooves" offering. First up is DJ Romain's "All Day, All Night," a jubilant, vocal-sample laden masterpiece that's an excellent example of mid-1990's cut-up and spliced deep house craftsmanship at its best. Rounding things off are a couple of vocals from the NY garage fold: the breathtaking and silky-smooth precision of Eric Kupper's remix of "What Do I Gotta Do" by Urban Soul, and Bassmental's "It's The Music," a classic statement of purpose conjured by the collaborative genius of Kerri Chandler and Yahya McDougald. Essential and immortal dance music reissued for generations old and new.

A little over a year since their debut on the label, veteran house producers Synchrojack are back on Vibes And Pepper with another four track EP directly from their archives.
The London pair have released only a select few cuts in their time but every one is an essential house jam as was proved by the great reception to their last EP on this esteemed French label. This time out they offer up four more cuts of lush house that ranges from musical to loopy to deep and back again.
Up first, 'The Road' is a busy, quick bit of house with firm, well-programmed drums, squelchy and bendy synth lines and plenty of organic warmth, real instrumentation and modern funk. 'Feelin Fine' (remix) is a loopy bit of filter house with a catchy vocal snippet, dirty great bass guitar riff and plenty of old school atmospherics all imbued within the fantastic groove. Authentically old sounding it puts so much modern music to shame.
'Into Powder' is a more stripped back bit of driving house that sounds like Norm Talley and Delano Smith locked in a jam session. It's dubby, rolling and grainy and you never want the well-constructed groove to stop. Last but not least, 'Some Scene Or Other' is a rattling, woody house groove with loopy percussive tumbles, wobbling, melted synth lines and crisp hi hats all jostling around each other in lively, life-like fashion.

The ultimate purist. An enduring visionary. Ian Pooley shares the next part of his legacy with his fifth album, 'What I Do', after a four year hiatus. Ian Pooley is a rarity. Twenty years into his professional career, he is regarded as both a cult underground DJ and established mainstream producer. As one of the only artists that walk the path between the two, his latest work builds on his past and delivers a polished body of work that sounds both classic and fresh. In the past Pooley has scoured influences from around the globe - Detroit, Chicago, Brazil, playing with funk with an emphasis on the groove. Over the course of fifteen tracks, 'What I Do' walks a similarly tactile path, refreshing the listener on Pooley's full-bodied and engaging approach but realigning his signature sound. "The new album is more raw. I produced a lot of the tracks in the old school way, how I used to work in the nineties. All the sounds were created and programmed on analog gear," Ian Pooley explains.

In the long line of Belgian talent finding a home on WPH (think San Soda, Lemakuhlar, Metrobox, Locked Groove, ...) we are pretty sure that Kiani & His Legion (aka Thomas Neyens) will claim his rightful place within a couple releases. Because just like the other family members Kiani has his very own distinct sound. Totally Kiani and also totally WPH. Kiani & His Legion should have already caught your attention with his free 'Records & Culture' vinyl in WPH's V.I.P. Series and he was also responsible for 'Legions Of The East' on the recent WPH Summer Special 2013. Being a vinyl lover himself it seemed fitting that we release his full E.P. debut on vinyl only, containing four tracks that will show you the full spectrum of his house music universe. The key words in that universe are melody, breakdowns, surprise and emotion. It's pointless to describe the tracks one by one, simply listen, enjoy and most of all...dance!

Circling Sydney as the most prodigious producers in their adopted home, Tuff Sherm (Perth-born Eugene Hector / Dro Carey) and Cassius Select (Canada's Lavurn Lee / Guerre) guise-up for a split 12 that follows Dro's seven-date debut European tour, and Cassius' breakout ONE EP on Gardland's Hunter Gatherer imprint. Returning home after a string of releases via Merok, RAMP, Opal Tapes and The Trilogy Tapes, Tuff Sherm shifts the counter-balanced brilliance of Dro Carey with 'Beast Numeral' - a six-minute succession of classic house jaunts. Revealing a more positively playful side on 'Topaz Looper', Sherm continues to surprise in the footsteps of fans such as Ben UFO, Mark Pritchard and L.I.E.S founder Ron Morelli. Clocking stages with Australian heavyweights Jagwar Ma and HTRK whilst stringing supports for Four Tet and Jamie xx alike, Cassius Select finally goes to print with two cold-cut workouts flipped on an affinity for city-side recesses. Proving Australia's most unkempt secret since his early days under the bedroom R 'n' B alias Guerre, 'Bruv' now sees Lee splice and scrape classic taunts into a knockabout elegy to the UK's MC heyday. Skittered up until the blown kick and bass serve of 'Rete Avec Ou', Cassius locks out on a pummelling ode to distance and disconnection, ringing in the end for a true-to-form take on mother-country confusion with enthralling results. It's a great pleasure to announce the first release from mexican duo 4004 & Sebastien Vorhaus. They might not run as fast as Speedy Gonzales, but their music is super hot, deep and raw! Yeah you know we like that at Quintessentials...... 4004 & Sebastien Vorhaus work together as well as solo and their work has already been signed by the almighty Faces Records (Pablo Valentino and MCDE). Plus they also set up their own label, Vicario Musique, so these are definitely names to watch. Viva Mexico!

Italy's Gianni Sabato and Alfredo Caforio, collectively known as Rush, release this eagerly anticipated four tracker on Memento Records. Showcasing their love for both abstract and deep grooves, the duo deliver an ep influenced by classic house music, echoing the sounds of the landscapes of their native homeland. "Lemonade", a lively tech-house groovy track, is designed for the dancefloor: the bass goes hand in hand with the percussions leading the bubbly rhythm, with vocal samples occasionally breaking down the pace and uncanny sounds filling in the empty background. "Les Amours"'s moody intro developes into a kick-driven obscure track, while "Little Zoo"'s screaming voices precede a housey 8-minute tune built around catchy synth melodies. "Uzury Says"'s deep-house feeling is characterized by distorted vocals, acqueous percussions and atmospheric pads. The product of two separate minds, this ep is a great example of how different ideas work just perfectly well when the need to make unusual music translates itself into a research for unexpected moods
and song structures.

The next release on contemporary scarecrow comes from Chicago house legend Boo Williams. This double pack features 8 tracks of quality Chicago house to complete another solid release on this rising Australian label.

Quarion is back with an awesome release. This man needs no introduction to connaisseurs, running the excellent Retreat "vinyl only" label and providing mindblowing music since more then 10 years.

Our favourite west coast space rock band "Woolfy vs. Projections", or "the Hall and Oates of the dance world" (XLR8R) are back for good. "Set Me Loose" is the first single from their 2012 album "The Return Of Love" , which with its proper songwriting, dreamy atmosphere and psychedelic character became an essential listening delight for all kind of Balearic types over the past summer. "Set Me Loose" is the perfect example for W vs. P unique blend of electronic and acoustic instrumentation and the natural haziness that lives in their music. This makes it a perfect match for Swiss legend Lexx (you have to check out his contribution to the ' originals ' series on Claremont 56), who offers the first remix here. Lexx does what Lexx does best adding a good portion of Excotica, tropical drumming and a certain dubbyness to the original making it a winner on the late night floor.

The Drifter, who had a busy year with setting up his own label Maeve, which he runs with his lads Mano Le Tough and Baikal and with releasing his debut ep on Permanent Vacation in late 2012, comes correct with a hypno house version of "Set Me Loose". He leaves out most of the original's Balearic feeling and adds a punchy kick and an acidy bassline to get it in shape for the more housy floors.

Last but not least in this delicate triumvirate of remixes is El_Txef_A from Bilbao, Spain. Aitor Etxebarria turned quite some heads with his last year's debut album "slow dancing in a burning room" and the mixture of contemporary club music and classic pop elements. He stays close to the original, stripping it down to the basic elements of the groove and the vocals before half way through of the remix an arpeggiated synth appears and introduces the 4/4 bass drum for the second half.

10 releases deep ManMakeMusic return to something from the label's co-founders, Love&Mercy.

The London based duo have been working behind the scenes at ManMakeMusic for some time now bringing artists such as U and Natan H to the imprint.

Their first outing on wax features 2 stripped-back, raw house grooves supported by remixes from label mate U and Quarion as part of his hardware-only QRN project.

The three tracks were hypnotic and tailored for clubs. They were played on the radio (BBC1, Le Mouv, France Inter) and also by the best DJs on the electro scene (2manyDjs, Skream, Duke Dumont, Erol Alkan, Surkin, Boys Noize, Daniel Avery...). Boston Bun's new EP, 'We Got Soul", is a great step. Vocals are more important than ever, it's club music with soul! 'We Got Soul' features Bear Who (DJ Sneak's voice) on vocal. It's an anthem-tribute to The Mongoloids, Boston Bun's main influence that adds a contemporary flavour to the special scene. The B-side, 'Time Bomb' (featuring the DJ/singer Piu Piu) is an emotional growing track, between pads and explosion. With such a unique and breakthrough sound, Boston Bun establishes further more among the French producers who really matter.

No needs to introduce house legend Chez Damier, outstanding guest for this special release. After a fruitful collaboration with Siler & Dima on Balance, they decided to continue the adventure working on a new and more developed project.

French Connection is the meeting of Chez Damier and his new disciples Siler & Dima and the talented new comer Thomas Zander, orchestrated by Chez Damier's willingness to transmit and share his unique experience. The idea is also to create a musical bridge between Popcorn Records and Balance US, Chez Damier's record label.

Starting from a mutual musical basis in order to create an Original and a Club version each, Popcorn Records presents the fruit of this second collaboration before a special vinyl dedicated to remixes, to come on Balance.

Here they turn Sinners Blood into a dark, burly and menacing electronic powerhouse. Fans of Daniel Avery's ever essential output and the sub 120 machinations of Weatherall's A Love From Outer Space will find much to like here.
Next up, the steel city's Crooked Man makes a rare remix appearance, bringing the Jon Marsh vocal style delivery to the fore and immersing it in a slinky but super punchy, bass heavy groove that's 100% Crooked.
