Freche Fruchte present 4 tracks of deep underground house music.
The lead track comes from man of the moment James Johnston "Turn around" is an elegant deep houser with a solid timeless feel, next up on the A side is a dark and deep house track with a gospel influence and a ridiculously large bassline from Robert Reinartz with "Praise him".

The lead track on the AA side is the result of a collaboration between Leigh D Oliver and label boss Alex Alterskye who present a house track bursting with energy and groove, and finally Lewis P strips things back with a major underground house workout!

Chesslo Junior - Long Hum

Chesslo Junior

Long Hum

12inchDRUT005
DRUT
05.05.2014

Chesslo Junior comes to Kelpe's Drut Recordings for his first ever vinyl release - a 6 track EP of house tempo jams and avant garde beat sculptures: 'Long Hum'. With previous releases on Wotnot as well as numerous self released hip hop bootlegs, Chesslo becomes the first artist other than Kelpe to release on his fledgeling label.

Moving beyond the 808 swagger of his earlier material, these cuts are spacious experiments that absorb everything from the darker reaches of the house spectrum to wayward beat-music. As it's name suggests this is a thoughtful record, more mature than previous outings, and finding flow like an album but condensed into a neat six track package of varying styles and tempos.

During the six month period of its production Chesslo worked in a music library by day, locating mood-appropriate songs for commercials. Hours sifting through vacant scores of ad music stirred in him a taste for the opposite. Distorted sounds and saturated textures stood as creative antidotes to the hollow ephemera of commercial muzak.

Launched with fresh inspiration, the record was an experimental journey into new methods of expression. The ghostly harmonised vocals on Get A Grip are Junior's first attempt to experiment with his own voice. He also invested in new tools: the EP's organic quality owes a lot to found sounds captured with newly acquired field-recording devices and the help of an old Hammond unearthed in Muswell Hill. Full to the nines with a whole range of careful sound design, the record reveals more about itself with every listen.

This is an EP that beckons you to tread further into the mind of this promising young producer. Up until now, Chesslo has been recognized as a producer defined by a playful roster of beat-jams and floor-friendly bangers, but Long Hum really throws back the curtain on the scale of Chesslo's talent and ambition.

Deep Space Orchestra - Hipster Massacre/smoking Bunt

Reports of a brutal massacre have been surfacing from various social media platforms in the last few hours. Eyewitness reports of the aftermath have said 'there were pieces of skinny jeans everywhere!' and 'the stench of burnt beard hung heavy in the air'

Groups known as Y.C.O and D.S.O have laid claim to the attack that is now thought to have been carried out through the use of some sort of highly advanced, possibly extra terrestrial, sonic weaponry.

They have responded to the incident with the following message - 'The rising hipster population has lead to turgid levels of melodic dilution. In urgent response we, with the help of our other worldly comrades, intergalactic vibe warriors and defenders of the jack - THE DEEP SPACE ORCHESTRA have instigated a cull to reclaim the dancefloors from the chinstrokers, the stationary, the sedentary instafans, handing them back to the jackers, the movers, the freaks and the underground. Y . C . O'.

R:eboerk Traxx // Out of her Depth

Welcome Nr.2!

Argy & Alex Picone - Eternal Moment

Argy returns to Memento after remixing Italys' house stars Pastaboys, this time teaming up with one of the country's hottest and internationally renowned producers, Alex Picone.

The two of them have released on some of the most revered contemporary record labels: from Cocoon to Cadenza, from Defected to Poker Flat, from Ibadan to Bosconi Records, the list goes on.

Their two-tracker opens with 'Eternal Moment': after an epic old-school synth intro, the booming kick drum leads the way to a galloping acid rumble and to an orgy of claps and hi hats, until the vicious vocal snippets welcome the uplifting and joyous melody.

'This Is How It Goes' follows the same path with sick percussions and hi hat's frenzy, while the bass line and the synth play along harmonically. Sudden breaks give a sense of suspended groove, cleverly designed to bring the rhythm back soon after in a burst of energy.

The guys here are showing their impressive skills in crafting this ambitious ep: after just one listen, it's clear how these tunes stand out from the ordinary mess it's more and more likely to find in the market today. With a hint to house music's history and legacy, they have reworked the genre's distinctive features, making them as fresh and cutting edge as they haven't been in a long time.

Saine - Business Hours Ep

only 1x copy each customer !!

The return of the Black Ops sub label from the SLEAZYBEATS crew...

It's been a good while since the last Black Ops missive - that Max Graef & Andy Hart 12" that sold out in a heartbeat and is now changing hands for seriously silly money on the used circuit - but good things come to those who wait.

The Sleazy Beats chaps welcome Saine to the fold, a Finnish producer with a bunch of great releases on the likes of Odd Socks and Musthave Records under his belt, who is equally at home dabbling with instrumental Hip Hop or churning out raw MPC-style beatdown grooves.

It's the latter that's on offer on this here Business Hours EP.

Tenfold on the A is a driving stomper with sharp synth stabs and a spaced out vocal that is bound to creep out the Ket heads that are still standing up in the wee hours.

Flip over for Worker, a chunky mid-tempo workout that's deep as, and comes with a lovely vocal sample to keep things in balance, while hints of acid weave in and out of the track.

It's closing track Scrabble that takes things back to the disco with its merry strings and wonky square synth lines, nicely rounding off the package.

As always, this is limited to 500 copies, no repress, no digital. Not now, not ever.

Red Rack'em - Zoned Ep

City Fly's previous release was a feature in every discernible DJ's set showcasing the mercurial production ingenuity of Munich marvel Bartellow complete with remixes from the inimitable Ugly Drums and deep house deity Fred P. Next up they bring another German-based producer into the mix via Scotland and the M1...
For their eighth release City Fly are proud to present Red Rack'em aka Danny Berman. Originally hailing from Scotland, relocating to Robin Hood's stronghold of Nottingham proved to be a productive move where he met kindred spirits in the form of music lovers and vinyl heads. This planted the seeds to grow an alliance which inspired him creatively, with many of his initial projects coming to fruition including the inception of his weekly 'Smugglers Inn' radio show on Myhouse Yourhouse plus promo releases of soul and disco edits on his Red Rack'em imprint that drew support from revered selectors such as the Nordic wizards Todd Terje and Prins Thomas.
Fast forward nearly a decade later and Danny's career has continued to take an upward trajectory. His 'Hot Coins' disco pseudonym was heavily supported by influential tastemaker Gilles Peterson who also unveiled Danny's Detroit two-step inspired 'Marlinspike' alias showcasing his versatility and nous as a producer. He followed this up by founding his fledgling 'Bergerac' label on which he released his debut album 'The Early Years' with its concocted alchemy of house, disco, beatdown and electro-boogie - gaining critical acclaim from both his peers and the press alike. However, it was his move to Berlin three years ago that gave him a new lease of life. With the hive of creativity in his new environs serving as a source of inspiration and motivation to hone his craft, he revisited his Hot Coins project and released 'The Damage Is Done' LP last year on Jazzanova's legendary Sonar Kollektiv imprint - following this up with by forming a live band set up and taking Hot Coins on the road.
Still, it's his original piratical Red Rack'em moniker that most heads identify him with - his genre-defying productions on choice labels such as Ramp, Philomena and Wolf Music are always in the bag of purveyors such as Mike Huckaby, Move D, MCDE and Kyle Hall. Having known Danny for some time since his days in Notts, it was only a matter of time before City Fly made the M1 connection and got their fellow kindred spirit signed up and released on some platter...
ZONED
Kicking off the EP is the title track 'Zoned' which as the name implies is an ode to being 'too far gone'. With a pitched down vocal, disorientating chords, heavy kick-drum and yearning male larynx hollering 'music is the place to be, want it right to hold me free', the track definitely takes you to a deeper place. Just before it gets any darker a dose of sax licks come in to inject some groove and light to proceedings. Sounding like a long lost 8-mile beatdown track that wouldn't be amiss on an old KDJ B-side or LP a la Silentintroduction or Forevernevermore, this is definitely one for the real heads with the lights down low...
BRAZILIAN NUTS
Next up is 'Brazilian Nuts' though to give a pre-warning this is not a samba-fuelled production as the title would suggest. With a warped, ocean-deep bass plunging the depths, heavy handclaps and an eerie vox, the track starts off with a deep and atmospheric aura. However, an element of surprise is thrown in when a Brazilian voice interjects adding a glimmer of light, which is further enhanced when crystal synths glide in contrasting against the deeper undertones - building to an ethereal breakdown where the bottomless bass, haunting vox and crystalline synth interpolate effortlessly. A deeper excursion to submerge yourself in...
ZONED (DJ NATURE REMIX)
Having previously featured house heavyweights such as Fred P, Andres and Danny's partner in crime Medlar on remix duties, this time City Fly are proud to bring DJ Nature into the mix. The New York based producer has had a slew of killer EP's on Japan's Jazzy Sport and NY's Golf Channel followed up by his acclaimed 'Return Of The Savage' LP which made him catch the ear of City Fly. On to the remix and Nature's interpretation as ever has an organic, timeless aesthetic that juxtaposes the deep, disorientating mood of the original with its warm bass and jazzy keys giving a laissez-faire vibe drenched with funk and soul - definitely one for springtime this is one to soak up and kick back to...
