Delroy Edwards keeps the old school fire burning, returning to L.I.E.S. with a new 8 track lp titled "Slap Happy". Once again this is back to basics, no punches pulled Chicago House worship, hitting all ends of the dance specturm. Sparse beat tracks, 80s synth stabs, 727 latin percussion...the elements are all there and put together in perfect form...many try but few can execute the vintage sound like this. What may even be Edward's most mature release, it comes in a time when the roots of dance music have been forgotten to the grotesque trends of the day. This is a reminder of why we were drawn to this music in the first place and what it can sound like.

The green edition is a real treat for all the minimal and deep house fans. Opening up are 2 extremely rare tracks from the Junkie Sartre back catalogue. Secret weapons that changing hands for high prices on Discogs. Alternation on the B2 is a never released before track from the same era - Gold!

Out of control hot tracks provided on the 3rd ep from Chicago Basement Trax! This vinyl has it all featuring the 1992 style that influenced Jeremy Underground Paris to create MLIU as well as 1980s Trax reminiscent of artists like Mike Dunn or Steve Poindexter. At that point we'd be happy but there is even more included for the disco edit and dub crowd. You can't go wrong with this EP!

We don't know, whether this guy is sleeping at all. He just released a new EP under his RAR moniker. He seems to be nonstop
assembling and fiddling on some delay pedals and what not. Let alone all the touring. And then he comes up with a KM022, that sets
directives and also lives up to them, as if it was nothing.
'Keep House' is the agenda on A1 and everyone who shrugs now about what the house should be kept like - clean (), tidy (),
locked () - should be taken to the next dancefloor by this joint. Of course we're talking genre-aligned maintaining-mentality here. It
needs to be House and it needs to be House forever - what else When Rampa offers his service to the art form, you can expect a bit
more than the usual 808-knitting pattern or jingling preset-piano. He approaches his mandate with a trademark percussive dryness
and generous bass-embrace in the kick-range. He slips in little sound-anomalies and weirded out effectrides like Brad Pitt smuggled
subliminal dick-pics into 'Fight Club'. And by building up a more than mighty groove, he lands on a constitution of House Music that
for sure can be behold as state of the art.
Side B, running under the name of 'Chai Jen Jen' is aiming for some slighty deeper realms. Inbetween sample-postcards from last
Thailand-break (many of the samples and the vocals were field recorded on Chatuchak Market in Bangkok), synth-variations and
snare-slaps, it is first and foremost this organmotive in the centre section that will cause self-indulgent trance rapture over whole
heated up floor-populations.

3rd release on Factory Music Chicago comes from the legend Dj Deeon and label owner Traxman himself. Both presents 2 banger each on this split ep called "Da Disco Tekk" EP. Highly recommended and out in March 2020!

AGT Records is back, just in time for Spring. Legend has it that the mysterious Hansel J. Tripwire was locked away at the abandoned Riverview Mental Hospital with nothing but a typewriter, a calculator and a Commodore 64 computer for company. ‘Sounds from the Sanitarium’ is the soundtrack to the party he had.

On the A, an urgent bassline propels the track forwards, balanced by glitchey samples that shoot around crisp percussion. The B is the funkier of the two, with a similarly chunky bassline providing the backdrop for shuffling high-hats and robotic synths to spiral above.

The EP is both menacing and playful, and is sure to cause some seriously wiggy peak-time and after-hours moments. AGT Records is rescuing this weapon from the vaults, all in good time.

This new Chicago based label is runned by Steve Poindexter and Traxman. The first release comes also from the label heads.
Track A2. is an remarkeble co-production between Steve Poindexter and legendary Armando. On B2. Traxman remixed Armandos "Snare yo Azz off".

Following a disco-fuelled release on Patrick Topping’s Trick, Spencer Parker gets back to his own Work Them Records imprint with an EP series entitled ‘New Works’. ‘New Works Volume One & Two’ sees the British born, Berlin-based DJ/producer let loose four tracks of the sort of driving house music he’s perfected over the course of his career.

‘babeh babeh babeh babeh’ opens the release with a huge New Jersey inspired beats/chords combo which steadily builds towards the titular chopped vocal refrain and teasingly used bass hook. Next up, Parker deploys deep, swirling pads atop classic 909 drums for ‘beat u’, creating the sort of stripped house dub that informed much of his early love affair with the genre.

On the flip, 'vogue u' sees chopped vocals at the forefront of the cut, paired with a booming, kick focussed rhythm track and staccato piano stabs that nod to the golden era of house while keeping eyes firmly on the dance floors of the future.

Closing out proceedings ‘im in this (until I die)’ shows Parker in some of his funkiest form to date, employing a huge, walking bass and mangled vocal loops with the sort of precision arrangement that is a trademark for producer.

This EP from the man also known as Alex O Smith is as fine as his album from a few months ago. Opener "Got The Drop On Dem" is typically stripped back Omar S: a melodic bassline forms a soft cushion for the scattershot claps and hi-hats on top, while "Gunup Runup" is a deceptively hypnotic 303 jam which expertly cycles through distortion and delay levels. "My Neffew Randy" meanwhile, is a neon lit house cut straight out of the late 80s, as midnight bass is illuminated by bright organ tones, and flanged piano chords deep in the background add serious weight to the track, before it turns down a dark path as disembodied film audio floats over dischordant synth percolations. "Unitarian" is another twisting acid journey accented with crystalline cymbals; however the best is saved for last, as "Who's In Key" sees the man team up with another of Detroit's favourite sons, Theo Parrish. Smith provides a backdrop of tough bass stabs and glassy chords, whilst Parrish's improvised synth flute contribution throws a more chaotic element into Smith's more mechanical approach.

Atalanta’s hotly tipped Stefan Ringer comes correct with a four-track breeze through deep, hazed out, syncopated house for Second Hand Records. Following standout releases on the likes of NDATL, People's Potential Unlimited and Argot and comparisons with the likes of Marcellus Pittman and Kyle Hall, Ringer is a talent you do not want to pass up.

Though never in doubt, 'Side Notes' sets out Ringers stall for all to see. At points MPC crunched samples lay over the top of punchy basslines and echoed ad libs, at others free flowing keys dance around layered drum loops and off kilter percussive hits.

There’s a cut here for everyone - a deft magic, versatility and spark that you need in the bag.
