"I met Jordan Zawideh while working at a Chicago record store in 2002 called Weekend Records and Soap. The shop was owned by Jim Marlon Magas/Bridgette Wilson and was one of the only places at the time where you could find a mix of weird ass electro, noise, and mutant techno coupled with Midwestern freak vibes. He lived above the shop and would come down daily to listen to records and chat about music. We have played countless shows together over the years and I've prob seen him DJ at least 100 times. Chicago native hailing from Detroit, Jordan's music combines elements of both these cities rich electronic history, but with his own perverse twist. Doolally drum workouts, soupy samples, arachnid analog bites, all pieced together with DIY warehouse charm."

Inside Out is a brand-new series that invites DJs and producers to blur the boundaries between traditional artist albums and mix compilations. Coming from Aus Music label head and DJ-Kicks curator Will Saul, the concept encourages artists to showcase their own music and or the music of those in their own individual circles. The mix will be release digitally and on CD, while a selection of the tracks will also be available on double gatefold vinyl.

Each instalment will feature 100% new and unreleased music. It is a chance for artists to take sole creative charge, A&R as they see fit and then commission brand new music specifically for the cause. Depending on who is at the helm, Inside Out will take different forms: producers may wish to represent their own sound with only music they have made themselves or with close collaborators, while DJs and label heads may wish to reflect the sounds and scenes that surround them. The results will be a window into an artist's world that works as a coherent mix, but also as a treasure trove of fresh new music that steps outside the usual lines of a dance album.

The idea stems from Will Saul's own approach in the club, which often finds him seeking out brand new and unheard music to play for the first time. That feeling of taking people into the unknown is one that reminds him of the energy and excitement of his early days as a dancer.

For Will's mix he enlists an array of artists who he's worked with over the years, many of whom have released on one of his labels in that time. These include the likes of Lone, Pearson Sound, Move D, Gerd, Youandewan, Martyn, Falty DL, Dauwd, Appleblim and Marquis Hawkes.

* As one of Chicago's most mysterious and revered characters, the story of Gemini, aka Spencer Kincy has become something of a myth in recent years - blazing a trail throughout the 90's, prolifically releasing over 200 tracks from 1994 to 1999, Spencer's music had shades innovation and soul few of his peers could match. Then, suddenly, at the peak of his career, he disappeared.

* As before, this album has been licensed directly from the man himself, and the money made from its exploitation will go directly to him.

Karakul welcomes Lea Lisa to the label for her new 12" 'Keys Of Life' featuring House legend Glenn Underground on remix duties.

Nice's Lea Lisa has been involved in the French and Swiss House music scenes since the early 90s and is a long time family member of Toulouse record shop InnerDisc. During the past decade she also added production to her musical talents and a string of releases on labels such as Wolf Music, Mona Musique and Inner Balance have followed.

Her latest track 'Keys Of Life' is a bumping yet soulful and uplifting piece, classic sounding yet with a contemporary feel.
Glenn Underground's mix takes the track to a more ethereal place, spacious pads swirl above a squelching bass line, while his dub version lets things breathe even more and twists the track's components into new shapes.

After a Summer of Church White Releases, Church Black steps back to the forefront, this time with eight Raw Jams from Church alumni Viers.

Chicago legend Mike Dunn has been behind a number of house’s best loved underground anthems, but as he donned his MD X-Spress alias to speak the lyrics, “God made me funky, and I’m glad he blessed me that way…” he never could have anticipated the reaction the track would still get on dancefloors nearly three decades later. With the layering of garage beats, an addictive bassline and Mike’s distinctive Windy City spoken word vocal, Mike had produced something that was a little bit special. Now Defected release a new remix package for 2021, featuring remixes from Eats Everything, Harry Romero and The Vision, as well as the original, for a new generation of house heads to discover.

Hot on the heels of the recent Maceo Plex and Shall Ocin & FiberRoot EP's comes another stonking release from Ellum. Odd Parents (Brian & Christine) grace the label for the second time with a double-header, heavy hitter complete with Maceo Plex Remix.

Originally from the US now resident in Barcelona Odd Parents have come up trumps with this killer single. The A Side, 'Teach The Wind' is a driving, hypnotically infused, analogue devastator of a track that's being championed heavily by Maceo Plex. The flip features the Maceo Plex Remix of 'Learning To Fly', a slice of transcendental effervescence that successfully manages to brush the stratosphere. Yet again, another great release from Ellum whose releases seem to be getting stronger and stronger.

Minimono finally strikes back on Bosconi records since 4 years from their last hot album"Runaway". This four tracker vinyl named "Gang Of Fools" represents the perfectcontinuation of their trademark sound aesthetic dense of funk, warm vibes and west coast house attitude: the record starts on A side with that unmistakable "shake-yo-booty" disco riff of the "Gang Of Fools" track which follows the deeper and keep on going groove of " The Rapid Fall" on the second cut. On B side instead you'll find the sliding and subtle "no excuse" driving jack-house-funk of "Bring It" followed by the melancholy and romanticism of the"Under The Influence" closing track. After 'Theory Of Strings (part1)' Ennio Colaci and Fabio Della Torre present the second part!The first track of A-side is the one who gives the title to the whole project, " Theory Of Strings", a dubby groover with a funky and psychedelic feel in the vein of a more coloured and dirtier Studio 1 or Soundhack. The "Feeling good vibe" keeps going relaxed and chill with the smart up and down mood of the track "Forty Degrees" while on B side Minimono get drier, minimalistic and more mysterious with the subtle after-hour jam of Rewind. This strong effort by Fabio and Ennio ends trough the cinematic atmosphere and the romantic piano notes of the gentle but raw closing act "Still Mine". Mind the Strings!
