LUCA AGNELLI RETURNS TO DESOLAT FOR HIS FIRST SOLO OUTING Following on from his joint effort alongside Marco Faraone for Desolat X in 2013, Luca Agnelli turns in a solo release for Desolat in April 2015. The release comprises four cuts that demonstrate the young Italian's finely honed production skills.Living up to its billing as the A side 'Optical' is a clear cut peak time affair whose warbling synths and climbing drum kicks pull the listener with it on its winding journey. 'Bubbles' perfectly describes the feel of the second A side which effortlessly combines a driving bassline and hypnotic synth to create a spine tingling experience. Swiss Train's punchy bass, frantic pace and melodic overtones will surely see it become a staple in many techno sets over the coming months. The second B side 'Raw' is an intricate, pulsating affair that pulses and bends and creeps through the listeners mind.

Detroit house mentor and pioneer Blake Baxter (Underground Resistance, Tresor) and Systematic head Marc Romboy are teaming up fort he already eighth time in order to present us their defintion of real techno music.

secretsundaze 017 comes from London based producer Endian. Releasing just 2 EPs in a few years on Nonplus and Electric Minds, Endian has nevertheless managed to turn the heads of the likes of Steffi who used one of his tracks for her Panorama Bar compilation and Boddika who also licensed a track for a various artists EP. Sounding like a producer far more experienced than the two releases would indicate, it came as no surprise that this is far from the output of a novice but the seasoned veteran George Levings aka Commix (Metalheadz).
Endian has been a regular at secretsundaze events over the years and a friendship developed with Giles and James. The project is an outlet for him to release the more technoey and house sound that he is increasingly inspired by.
Lead and title track 'Finish Me' is a stone cold killer. Ballsy, raw and over driven in the mix, a tribal breakbeat groove builds before brassy stabs sneak in. The peak of the track sees dramatic pads cut through for a moment of serenity before the drums drop back in. Joy Orbison used 'Finish Me' in his Essential mix late last year and its also been a highlight of secretsundaze's sets over last 6 months. 'Dusty' goes deeper with a layer of fuzzy warmth enveloping the track. Driving but definitely one for the later hours or early on with its hypnotising flow and subtle musical flourishes. Last up 'Sub Tropic' is a heads down, growling, low slung techno track with its deep sub bass. This is definitely a track you can imagine hearing in the bowels of Berghain well into Sunday daytime. 'Finish Me' is arguably Endian's best work to date and it's another fine addition to the secretsundaze catalogue.

A staple album since its release in 1998, 'Heavenly' is as relevant today as it was twenty years ago. It turned heads everywhere, got the underground scene buzzing and set dance floors ablaze like an accomplished pyromaniac. Now, the album is back for another round of Techno-flavored goodness.
Revisited, tweaked and rearranged by Kevin Saunderson under his E-Dancer moniker, the album not only comes with additional material in addition to the 1998 originals, but is also poised to fuel a number of exclusive E-Dancer live shows. A collection of songs sure to keep the dance floor ablaze for decades, 'Heavenly' (Revisited) is set to make history once more.

Pelvis Records returns with a breakbeat trip around the train yards of New York, coming to you care of Klasse Recordings' Luca Lozano. Entitled King Blade, the record is an ode to the eponymous NYC writer, famed for his prolific painting of trains during the late 70s.

Blade was commissioned to produce original artwork for the release, which includes a full colour limited edition fold out poster. Featuring an alternate mix from Lozano and remix by Eargoggle and 240 Interceptor alongside the original, this pressing is strictly limited to 300 copies worldwide.

After beginning in Sydney as a club night night in 2012, Pelvis has expanded to include a clothing line and record label. Recent releases on the Pelvis Records imprint include Dance Freak (with remixes from Mall Grab, DJ Haus & DJ Nozaki) and the Dance Freak Mixtape, split with NYC's Venus X (GHE20G0TH1K) and released on limited edition cassette.

Ukrainian artist The Stoosie debuts on the inaugural release on Los Angeles-based record label, Makehood. Fusing Eastern influences into a unique club-oriented sound that willfully transcends styles and unites artists from disparate backgrounds and geographies.

Juan Ramos speaks twelve languages and loiters at the zoo. This is his second offering for the ESP Institute. Last year his debut dropped us at the edge of oblivion and this follow-up release picks up right where he left us—ATKM pumps right from the start with a collision of elastic percussion, tubular clinks and cranks under what sounds like fragments of our androgynous tour guide's speech though a malfunctioning PA. Halfway through the chaos she makes a left turn toward Belgium where the drum programming fattens up and we acquire an optimistic shimmering of chords. On side B, Globalizacio´n A´cido conjures imagery of a moonlit expedition on the hunt for lord-knows-what. Many producers rely on jungle sounds, loosely appropriating some misguided sense of mysticism, but Juan rules his own kingdom where he creates an ecosystem through synthesis and digital manipulation. The narrative quality of his production knows no limits and his ability to twist machines into this chorus of cyber-creatures puts him at the top of the food chain, however, no animals were harmed in the making of these two songs

2015 has been the year that Moon Harbour turned 15, but rather than focus on the past, Matthias Tanzmann's label has continued to serve up fresh future sounds. The next artist to do so is Lewis Boardman, a long time UK talent who has released on a clutch of fine labels in his
time.

Desolat, Play It Down and Souvenir have all served up the club ready sounds of Boardman in recent years. He himself is also closely associated with Circus having been a resident at the legendary Liverpool party for years, and all that DJ booth expense clearly pays off when in the studio because his tracks come complete with all the key ingredients to get people moving.

Boardman's debut Moon Harbour EP opens with 'Stay Together,' a slow burning, deeply delicious track with a hooky vocal riff and grinding bass that really work you into a lather. It is expertly balanced and reserved at the same time as having a big, long lasting impact. The excellent 'Push It Right' is then a grainy, static laced deep house swinger with kicks that rock back and forth and lull you into a subtle, supple groove.

Next great cut 'Aww Shit' then ups the ante with a rickety, train track like percussive line and vast, firmly rooted rubber kicks that really resonate with each hit. Another deft vocal adds a fine hook to the track as you wiggle your behind from start to finish. Last but by no means least, the dreamy 'As Yet' then gets swampy and minimal,with gurgling bass and glistening, knife edge percussion making for a wavy groove that is serenely tripped out and expertly seductive. Again a well treated vocal is the icing on the irresistible cake.

This is a classy and cultured EP that is one of Moon Harbour's deepest and headiest for a while.

There is beauty to be found in the barren streets of Detroit. But they also hold an unexpected danger. Solitude can sometimes make you feel like you're on another planet; alien soundscapes and stark sound shape lonely beats on these lonely streets.

Black Catalogue is owned and run by DJ/Producer Monty Luke. The label is a forum for underground music from around the globe. And beyond.

This first release, the 'Tomorrow EP' contains three tracks and gives an eclectic glimpse into what just what Black Catalogue is all about. The A-side, 'Tomorrow,' is a sub-bass driven snapshot one of Detroit's possible futures. 'The Next' is simply a message. And the double-A side, 'Yesterday & Today' is a Detroit dancefloor record that takes a filtered disco hook into a future direction. We hope you enjoy it.

Lucidflow make a ninth journey onto wax with label co-owner Nadja Lind's 'Tribe Dub', and no punches have been pulled with the array of top drawer remixers on board - featuring Brendon Moeller, Tigerskin & Jack Jenson, and Terry Lee Brown Jnr. Nadja's original fires on all cylinders with a frantic sub-bass assault that isn't going to be happy unless your lungs have been thoroughly bruised by a main room's speaker stack. As the bass tumbles, phasing dub stabs gracefully arc into the stratosphere and back again.

Production veteran Brendon Moeller steps up first on the mix with an interpretation that plays on the dancing dub elements of the original. A bare percussive anchor runs through the track allowing the rest of the elements to waltz around it in a shimmying and synchronised display.

Usually present under the Dub Taylor guise, Tigerskin adopts his main identity in tandem with Jack Jenson to bring a bit of dreaminess to the dance floor thunder of the original. Here, the elements are whispered, like the hush of walking out on a first light and frost covered morning. As the frozen pads thaw out, you emerge from the countryside into the hustle and bustle of the city, with apt field samples layering over the subtle and insistent groove.

Plastic City head honcho Terry Lee Brown Jnr is given the task of tackling Nadja's stellar 'Ignore And Block'. Like Tigerskin & Jack Jenson before it, the theme here is frozen melodies over precisely deployed percussion. Anyone familiar with his work will immediately find them at home in the deep-but-tech groove laid out over the track.

Coming out in 2017, the release will surface on smouldering orange marbled vinyl.

Piotr Bejnar, the owner of Otake Records is coming back with a debut album. The album is composed by 12 tracks where each track is telling different emotional story. A debut release on FINA WHITE from one of the most influential UK acid pioneers, Affie Yusuf.
Hailing from Southampton on the south coast of England, Affie has been producing techno, acid, and house music for over two decades. Launching his career in 1993 on Ferox Records with Russ Gabriel, this was to be the first of many record labels to be run by Affie. He has gone on to grace heavyweight labels such as Force Inc. Music Works, Superstition Records, Inertia as well as founding 909 Perversion, House of 909 and now FINA WHITE.
The lead track, 'Roland Hardware', builds in energy from its intro of dark distorted vocals into trippy, acid fueled masterpiece. With its looping hooks it steadily increases in intensity to a crescendo of the kind of distorted bliss that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. An underground floor filler that harks back to a golden age of acid house.
Taking things a little deeper, 'Shinkantuiisu' beautifully combines infectious funky grooving percussion with a dream esque melody. An elegant track with an enticing refrain and a rhythm that will have feet tapping and get any party started.
'Spirit Acid' rounds off this EP in fine style. This is acid house in its purest form with 909 beats, piano and a driving baseline. A psychedelic journey that is bound to get a great reaction in peak time sets. With this EP it is evident that Affie's passion for acid house is as strong as ever. A talented producer making the music he loves.

Aphrohead's first full-length album, Resurrection, in over decade has recently been released, one of the standout tracks 'Grown Man Cryy' sees a single release complete with a superb Carl Craig 'Brainy Grimlin' rework.

A heavy Detroit influence can be heard in the Aphrohead classic 'Grown Man Cryy', fittingly reworked by the master of the techno scene Carl Craig into a pulsating anthem suspended in time. The original cut (as put into words by DJ Mag) acts to 'remind the world of the depths of talent and personality that made Aphrohead such a perennial force previously.'

Aphrohead created a precedent in 90's techno on halcyon labels Bush, Global Cuts, Power Music, Thee Black Label & Radical Fear. His Felix Da Housecat alias went on to form the epicentre of the electro-clash scene and it was through this alias his friendship began with Crosstown Rebels pioneer Damian Lazarus, then at City Rockers. Carl Craig is a key player in Detroit's techno sound, recently releasing 'The KMS remixes' and consistently delivering on his own Planet E label. He began recording at the turn of the 1990's, using a number of aliases to release innovative ambient, techno, breakbeat and future jazz sounds including BFC, Psyche, Paperclip People, 69, Designer Music and Innerzone Orchestra. He is also the co-creator and artistic director for the widely successful Detroit Electronic Music Festival.

Repress of the original vinyl release on MFF back in 2001.... Newly re-mastered for 2017, Angie's Fucked and Sure are sounding bigger and better. Driving dubby deep house with freaky effects. This EP was undoubtedly one of MFF's release highlights and C++ (aka Joshua, Circulation, J-Boom, C++, Free Energy, Stereo People, Dubwise and as Iz of Iz & Diz) needs no introduction having been making music for past 24 years and setting up Vizual Records with production partner Diz. He's previously released tracks on label giants such as Prescription, Balance, Clas-sic, Junior Boys Own, OM and Guidance, working with the likes of Derrick Carter, Chez Damier and Cajmere. Four Tet also chose to pay homage to this rarity by adding Angie's Fucked to his highly revered Fabric Live 59 compilation, released in 2011. The track sits comfor-tably alongside Burial, Floating Points, Red Rack'em, Ricardo Villalobos and Cari-bou, who all feature on the album too. Make sure you play it loud and lose your mind in it !

Eats Everything's forthcoming release for Dirtybird continues to gather momentum.Since first being showcased on Diplo & Friends Radio 1 show by Justin Martin and Claude Von Stroke, the track has been making the round and has since appeared on Pete Tong's show and Annie Mac's mix for the Channel 4 House Party.

Future Classic - the Australian independent label and home to Flume, Chet Faker, Flight Facilities and Jagwar Ma - are proud to announce the signing of Danish production duo Kenton Slash Demon. To celebrate the new signing, Kenton Slash Demon have released 'Harpe' - the first half of a forthcoming AA-side 12 Harpe/Syko. Future Classic founder Nathan McLay says of the signing: We are psyched to be working with KSD. They are an illusive act whose infrequent originals and even rarer remixes became early morning staples at our club nights in Sydney over the years. We never expected it but when we were recently sent demos of some new original music to consider it was an easy and natural thing for us. KSD make forward thinking four to the floor club music with strong emotional gravitas that's at once bleak and euphoric. They are also not afraid to experiment - be it old school rave or reinterpreting breakbeats - which is also appealing to us in a genre that can sometimes feel stale.
