House Vinyl New Releases - News

Jacktone Records is pleased to announce our latest release: a vinyl EP titled Channel from rising house producer, Loren Steele
The EP from San Francisco-based Steele is comprised of four original tracks designed for the dancefloor, plus a sprawling psychedelic remix from Mathematics/100% Silk veteran, Roche. Not only are the tracks varied and ready for skilled DJs to drop at that perfect spot of the night, but, they're also earworms - hooking you with their infectious grooves and melodies. The clean production and energetic structure of the originals, featuring perfectly-placed pads, stabs and filters washing over propulsive basslines and percussion locks in a warm yet hands-in-the-air vibe. The Roche remix of Swimma draws out the groove and adds some of that San Francisco psychedelic fog. The tracks were recorded live in single takes with little post production processing, giving them a kinetic feel that can't be reproduced.

Channel was produced with creative feedback from both Cherushii and Nackt, whom were lost in the Oakland fire. The EP is released in their memory.

Loren Steele is a San Francisco-based producer and multi-instrumentalist. As a bassist, DJ and a solo live PA artist, he has performed at Bay Area institutions, Haceteria, OK Hole, Psychic Friends, Run the Length of your Wildness, Space Gallery, Public Works, and Underground SF. He has releases on Wolf and Lamb Music, Run the Length of your Wildness, BOB recordings, and Microsound.org
Channel is his first vinyl 12".

Unknown Archetype AKA Roxy Tripp & Oliver Kucera debut their visceral experimental techno for R&S on this three track EP

Unknown Archetype is a collaborative project between Roxy Tripp, a British conceptual artist & music producer, and Oliver Kucera a Czech born Producer & Live performer, residing in the Netherlands. With an extensive background of solo projects in the underground scene, the duo began their collaboration together as Unknown Archetype in 2015.

The TRIPP EP is an abrasive, visceral EP of electronic body music underpinned by themes of Jungian psychology, symbolism and mythology. The industrial tech funk of lead track Voyeurism kicks things off - skittering breakbeats, squalling filters and blistering snares pile-driving the listener into ecstatic submission, while 'Tripp' see the duo employing sizzling bursts of white noise and caustic percussion over a jagged rhythm box figure. Matters are pared right back for the rigid austerity of closer 'The Serpent' - the dubbed out lead stab quivers over a strobing 909 drum groove and scything cymbals.

Effortlessly balancing deep late night sounds with a unique character and intricate headphone centric programming, the TRIPP EP is a fitting and welcome addition to R&S's storied catalogue.

Local Talk release no.61 is 'Bewyste EP', a unique and contagious take on house music by Esa & Mervin Granger.
The opening track, Bontas lures you deep into Esa's forward thinking house music, it's raw, percussive and wondrously catchy with a organic feel. It might sound pretty straight forward but don't let that fool you. There are many layers of fx and clever programming which makes Esa stray away from the norm when it comes to producing and that's what we love.
Next up is MVK, a perfectly balanced deep house number that builds slowly with a lush combination of chords and piano. Watch out for the thumpin bass, it transforms the track into something really special and takes it to another level. On the flip Boddhi Satva delivers a remix worthy of a big sound system. His Ancestral Soul Mix of Bontas is delicate swinging congas and claps, garnished with a twisted synth line just waiting to explode. It's pure soul and groove showcasing Boddhi's unique quality and musicianship.A fine addition to the Local Talk discography

87 Records is back with another quality release by Fusal.
On top it comes around with an outstanding remix by the mighty Archie Hamilton.

On "PORTAL TO CANIS", Chicago's RADIUS serves up 4 tracks of House with a downtempo/electro sensibility. "A DASH OF ACID" and "SEPARATED" kick off the A side, "WOMEN ARE THE GATEWAYS..." continues the party on the flip.

Ryota O.P.P aka Ryota Arai is the latest signing to Meda Fury. A highly respected DJ, promoter and producer - Ryota is a lynchpin of Tokyo's burgeoning disco / house scene, his comtemporaries include Cos/Mes, Kuniyuki, and KZA among others who mix eastern mysticism, jazz spirituality, rare cosmic disco and deeply musical / intricate house.
From the haunted discoid-stomp of 'Zombie Boogie' to the sparse, clipped jazz-inflected funk of 'Rain Jazz', to the caustic, spiralling pads and moody stabs of 'Sweet Claim' and beyond, it's clear that this is utterly unique dance music with an intriguing balance of flavours at play - 'Spirit house' 'darkbalearica' 'mystic house' we'll leave it to your imagination.

This year's version of Steyoyoke's 'Couple Affair' features four tracks created by a combination of two of ve label members: Soul Button, Nick Devon, Dahu, Animal Picnic, and Ran Salman.
This memorable vinyl only EP brings the family together by showcasing the strength and harmony created by the pioneers of ethereal techno. Soul Button and Nick Devon join forces to create 'Modus', a heavenly techno imprint of a never-ending climax. Gentle yet hypnotic, the melodic nature of the synths carries a playful air, complimented by a powerful kick that embodies the mood of the entire release. Strong and dreamy, 'Modus' is the ideal way to begin this 'Couple Affair'.
Nick Devon teams up with Dahu this time, giving birth to 'Kaleidoscope', a track with a wilder rugged feel. Truly a reection of raw feelings, condent, unpredictable, and energetic, Nick Devon and Dahu have brought their most powerful elements to the table with this one, with shadowy
basslines and heart-hitting percussions.
Animal Picnic and Ran Salman take the twisted, dark path down to their 'Mind Maze' with a tragically beautiful melody that invites you into its mysterious basslines and addictive synths. 'Mind
Maze' is an appropriate title for this masterpiece, and it is certain that you may nd yourself lost in the sounds and on a true trip.
The nal contribution made by Soul Button and Animal Picnic, 'Icosian', is lled with perks that pamper the ears. The last track on this vinyl-only release sets out to break the hearts of people
around the globe as they experience the emotive nature of this timeless gem. The contrast of the lows and highs have become perfectly intertwined, manipulated in subtle ways that display the art of complexity and simplicity simultaneously.
The Steyoyoke family has continued to blossom into the epitome of pleasure through the shared passion for music over the years. This year's annual 'Couple Affair' release comes to you on vinyl-
only, ensuring only the most pure and organic frequencies lick your ear drums. An innite beauty, 'Couple Affair' stands out proudly amongst the Steyoyoke releases for it's loyalty to celestial and ethereal techno.

Next up on Swiss imprint, Caduceus Records, is a release veiled in secrecy and hidden behind a mask of obscurity. Whilst the
producer behind the tracks remains in the backseat, the music sits at the forefront, with only itself to speak for.First track, 'Cracken,' is about as skewed and wonky as you can get without the vinyl flopping off the turntable and is sure to be a test for the less adventurous DJs out there. Not surprisingly, it has already received support on Ben UFO's Hessle show on Rinse FM (played by Welfare). A syncopated rhythm, off-kilter arrangement and stumbling samples throw this track off its hinges, with only the
pummelling kicks and an expansive, space-like padded-tapestry to glue it all together. Racket' plunges for a deeper, submerged dub-techno atmosphere that shimmers under its many layers as it grinds back and forth. Similarly, 'Touched By Light' keeps things buried in a fathoms-deep pool of atmosphere as mechanical vocal samples emerge and subside around the chugging rhythms and faltering percussive loops. The whole package is finished off perfectly with a remix from Canadian techno master, Basic Soul Unit, who throws 'Touched By Light' into more regulated form, ready for the floor, with solid grooves and a hardy techno backbone.
Weitone is a project that relies on its contrasts - a continual zigzag-ing between one and the other - in your face whilst hidden and restrained, cold and metallic but also warm and cinematic. Somewhere in this obscurity there is solace and something to be found.Seek and you shall find.

Just Another Beat welcomes the enigmatic Berlin-based artist Rising Sun to its slowly but steady growing camp of artists.

Over the course of his more recent releases, Rising Sun has been focusing more and more on one his biggest musical love affairs: breakbeats. - Lament might very well be the best and most gripping result of this excursion yet. Driven by the iconic Amen Break, Rising Sun adds his trademark chords and melodies to the mix, turning - Lament into a moody, yet euphoric anthem.

Long-time friend of both Rising Sun and Just Another Beat Sven Weisemann, carefully deconstructs the sheer energy of the original tune and rebuilds it from the ground up, adding subtle hints of house music's heritage, combined with his constant strive for lush orchestration.

Storming into our fifth release from the dirty shores of New Jersey, Green Village is proud to present Village Elders 001, a compilation EP featuring new material from artists who have already flown the flag for GV. The A-side is held down by the Plan B duo of DJ Spider and Dakini9, purveyors of the Metro Area's dirtiest and deepest house sounds. Spider gets toxic a second time, following his 2013 Instruction drop with 'Toxic Trace 2', a thickly layered deep house cut whose seedy percussion underbelly contrasts vividly with the more traditional deep house pads that accompany it. Dakini9's 'Lost Paradise' is dark and mysterious like its title, the hats, trumpets, and vocals emerging in tangled webs of dub effects, a strong follow-up to her dope EP for the label. Disaroen, a duo from Toronto, half of which previously appeared on GV, turns in the most barren of the four tracks, 'Serious Doorman', heads-down techno that crackles to life halfway in and an auspicious debut for a promising new group. Last is NJ heavyweight Nicuri, a rising star whose 'Ripples of Time' closes the EP in his signature searching, melodic style.

Let it go EP, the fourth release by In Records, where IULY.B brings a real crystal and powerful sound.

Brooklyn resident Kim Ann Foxman kicks off 2017 with a fresh release on her own Firehouse Records imprint. Energy EP comprises four new tracks heavy with Foxman's recognisable sound, centred around her own unique vocals and the nostalgia of early house and techno records.
Following on from a series of highly acclaimed solo productions on Firehouse, Foxman once again creates musictointoxicate.'EnergyEPdivesintomyraveroots,'sheexplains,'Itincludesaselectionoftracksto be enjoyed at different times of the night.'
'URMagnetic'setsthetonewithafeverishvocalhookedonhauntingundertones,while'E4Energy'steps up the tempo with a rhythm that exudes Foxman's own fire and intensity, whilst also capturing the spirit of rave.
Foxman's vocals are centre stage in 'U & Me Electricity', a track reminiscent of the UK rave scene and concluding in true mind-bending style is '2 The Source'.
Foxman created Firehouse Recordings two years ago and has developed it into a label for music heads that centres around quality underground music for the dancefloor. 2016 saw her become the resident at The Good Rooms in Brooklyn, a Panorama Bar regular and she concluded the year by playing for the Mixmag Lab London.

Nightvisions - Great minds think alike, and especially with this Berlin duo. Both shared a passion for electronic music long before they met and when the magic happened they chose 'Nightvisions' as their moniker.Their Debut EP 'Twin Peaks' on Schakal Recordings is made up of four tracks, two original tracks and two remixes. The A-side starts with 'Volar', a mystical and spacey sounding production combined with mechanical synths.
On remix duties are Label heads AntiAlias & Mallone with their 'Hourglass reinterpretation.' They transform the original into a techno tool with earth shattering subs, a barrage of menacing hi-hats and a pitched choir that exudes an intense dark ambience. It's somewhat calmer on the B-side. 'Twin Peaks' has a stirring melody and a steady beat that takes hold of the dance-floor, beautiful as it is unnerving the synths are reminiscent of an 80s movie soundtrack. Speaking Minds' Laura Palmer mix gives 'Twin Peaks' some extra reverberation, the Italian duo turn the track into emotional prime time techno. Metallic hi-hats give the track a strong and drive and add chords and harmonys to the main synthline that give it a twisted personality.

Vinyl Only release featuring remixes from Two Diggers & James Dexter.

With a string of chart hits and countless underground favourites to his name, Belgium-based Italian Vito Lucente stands proudly as one of Europe's most successful house artists. Recording under a multitude of aliases since the early 1990s, it is for his work as Junior Jack that he is most widely recognised.
His breakthrough cut 'My Feeling' is an early highlight of Defected's discography, which crossed over from main rooms to make an impact on charts in the UK, across Europe, Australia and the USA, as did later hits 'Stupidisco' and 'Da Hype'. Club smashes 'Thrill Me' and 'E Samba' demonstrate an ear for an infectious hook and a floor-filling bassline rarely matched before or since, whilst cuts such as 'Just Deep' and 'Only House Muzik' - produced under Lucente's alter-egos Deep Walker and Mr Jack - show he is equally adept at turning out dubby, underground material.
Collaborations with Kid Crème and Olivier Gosseries explore Latin rhythms and tracky percussion, and his production on tracks featuring Jocelyn Brown, Kathy Brown and Ron Carroll show his outstanding aptitude in working with some of the finest voices in house music.
Lucente is the creator of some of the genre's most distinctive records, responsible for countless memorable moments on dancefloors across the globe. Collecting together the highlights of his wide-ranging career, House Masters - Junior Jack sees him take his rightful place amongst the pantheon of the genre's true legends.
