Kenton Slash Demo - Skydancer I & Ii Silk-screen Picture Disk
FCL152
Future Classics
12inch12.05.201512.MAY.15

HouseTechTechnoTechno

Silas Moldenhawer and Jonas Kenton, both children of the early 80s, grew up alongside each other in the tiny big city of Copenhagen. In their teenage years they discovered electronic music and this led them to start spinning records and producing tracks together. Years later they met two other talented musicians and formed well-establish Danish indie-electro outfit "When Saints Go Machine", but still kept on building Kenton Slash Demon as a separate project.
Now, four years after the release of their most recent EP Daemon, Danish production duo Kenton Slash Demon return with Skydancer, an immersive and intricate sonic interpretation of club culture that represents a new chapter and direction for the act. Skydancer I is a haunting 7-minute monster, with pitched vocals, industrial hats and a sinister central bass line. The second act, Skydancer II, provides a sunnier counterpoint with a nod to the UK rave scene with its broken drum patterns. This release represents the birth of WAA Industry, a new imprint helmed by KSD and visual artist The Emperor Of Antarctica. Skydancer I & II will be released on a one-sided 12" picture disc record in collaboration with Australian label Future Classic.

Midland - Duster

Aus Music

HouseTech

2014 has been a continuation of what was a very busy and successful 2013 for Midland. Having set up his own imprint, Graded, last year he has gone on to contribute to JD Twitch's Autonomous Africa project, a yearly charity release which raises money for different African Charities. This has been swiftly followed up by the release of 'Before We leave' on Phonica White - the label that fathered his first solo release. And it doesn't stop there as we welcome Midland back for the 'Duster EP,' out on 15th September. The secret to Midland's success perhaps lies in his ability to keep his listeners guessing; with each new release, a new sound palette is presented, always adding more colour to his catalogue. This new EP is no exception as this time he draws out immersive pads and understated melody over the top of percussive grit, in parts channeling some of that irresistible Autonomous Africa flavour. The release has already garnered support DJs and radio alike with Jamie XX playing out 'Reflex' on both his recent Boiler Room and BBC Radio 1 Guest mix, while another early unveiling of 'Pitch Drift' dropped recently on Benji B's show.

HOMAS21LP
Defected

HouseDeepElectronicaTech

There are few names in dance music today which need less of an introduction than Masters At Work. The ground-breaking project of Louie Vega and Kenny Dope, Masters At Work forged a reputation for genre-eschewing DJ sets and flawless house production throughout their extraordinary careers, while their influence and reach changed house forever.

Taking the distinct and already highly praised production aesthetic of Vega and fusing it with Gonzalez's encyclopaedic knowledge of breaks and hip-hop, Masters At Work created an accessible yet defiantly underground sound that is still being copied and referenced - but crucially never bettered - by many of today's contemporary producers.

House Masters Masters At Work is the distillation of 25 years of both genre defining and genre defying moments: hand-picked compendium of original productions and remixes set over four expansive CDs.

Masters At Work have always operated according to their own rules and their own sound. Whether it's the sampling techniques of hip-hop, the swing of Latin styles or the soulful euphoria of house - they've always added their own special ingredients. This is what makes Masters At Work genuine dance music legends, and makes House Masters Masters At Work such an essential collection.

Jey Kurmis - De Greave Ep
MHR087
Moon Harbour
excl23.02.201623.FEB.16

HouseTech

Keeping up their always busy and on point release schedule, Moon Harbour line up a brand new name for their second outing of 2016: Jey Kurmis is the man behind the Refresh EP, a three track affair that showcases the fine production chops that have made him one of the fastest rising UK producers out there.

Based in Leeds, Kurmis has a decade's worth of DJ experiences behind him. He uses all these to great effect when producing his floor filling, fresh house beats for labels like Hot Creations (in the form of his Kari and Lil'Nic French EPs), Phobic and Lost. Never short on energy and invention, his tracks fit in perfectly with Moon Harbour and he is a great new addition to the ever evolving Leipzig family.

Opener 'Refresh' is the most uptempo of the lot, with wobbly drums and icy hi hats making for a cool as you like groove that is loose, fluid and restless. It really will be impossible not to move to this one when dropped on the floor, especially once the slick rapped vocals bleed into the mix.

The fascinating 'De Greave' is a mid tempo cut with gloopy bass and weird little hooks making for an unsettling late night atmosphere. Expertly designed little flourishes flesh out the groove, as do filtered vox that will send the crowd wild. It's a patient, slow burning track but one that really gets under the skin over the course of is duration.

Last but not least, comes the more bold and physical house effort that is 'Fourtunes.' With bulky, physical drum kicks down low and big enveloping bass, it really sucks you in. Acid flashes and textured analogue lines add some raw energy to the groove and again it is a singular sounding track from Kurmis.

This EP proves Kermis has a fine sense of groove as well as a great range within his chosen genre, and it is sure to fly as a result.

Marc Antona - Unrestricted Ep
DS031
DISSONANT
12inch30.01.201730.JAN.17

HouseTechTechnoMinimal

Marc Antona has been always in the pursuit of new expressions within music as he has continually demonstrated with his work. Following the jazz-infused adventures of the Rattle Snaps EP, he finally returns to his own turf to lay down another crucial exploration of beat science. "Hanging Gardens" is a masterclass in immersive programming, fusing the natural feel of live drums with crisp electronic tones that hover in a spacious mix. It's the perfect angle at which to appreciate the subtlety of sound design that goes into every inch of Marc Antona's productions, teasing elements in and out of the mix so gracefully, it's hard to tell where the joints are. The haunting touches of chords and lingering pad are deployed with poise, the intricate percussion progressively rising and falling throughout to create a truly immersive sonic journey. Where the A side deals with angular rhythms and a shape-shifting atmosphere, "Unrestricted" takes the sound palette of organic and electronic elements and feeds them into a rolling, techno-minded focus. The tribal thrum of the beat fills out an 'in-the room-ambience' while the psychoactive synth flurries speak out the pulse of the machines. It's a combination that makes "Unrestricted" as intimate as it is exotic. In combining these disparate feelings within his tracks, Antona once again brings a human feel to the technology, pushing the music into exciting new realms in the process.

What can I say The human eye is too primitive to perceive the blunt truth; it is far easier to completely bend reality than accept what is in front of you. Why am I talking to you
Well, I just realized it does not really matter if we infiltrate television, governments or even your minds-eye. The world will be ending soon and the only thing that still matters is to dance.

Sepalcure - Folding Time 2 X 12"
HFLP011
Hot Flush Recordings
2x12inch27.05.201627.MAY.16

HouseElectronicaTechTechnoElectro

Hotflush Recordings is delighted to announce the arrival of a second full length from Sepalcure, the American duo made up of Travis 'Machinedrum' Stewart and Praveen 'Braille' Sharma. Arriving four and a half years since their acclaimed debut, 11 track album Folding Time is a singular and tender statement that lands in May 2016.
This special coming together of distinctive musical minds produced a much-loved, self-titled debut LP in 2011, plus six EPs between 2010 and 2013, all of which suggested a penchant for broken beats and bright melodics. Both have since furthered their accomplished solo careers - Braille released his debut solo album Mute Swan, while Machinedrum's experimental exploration of Vapor City landed on Ninja Tune - that have kept them busy in the studio as well as on the road. As such, and owing to their insistence that any production work had to be done in person "since that results in a certain sound and experience you just can't recreate remotely', the new record took some time to come together.
The album, written over many bottles of whiskey, is made up of brand new music, but also tracks that have been worked on, forgotten, then revived over many years. Its title comes from the fact that, 'it felt like we were connecting the present with the past. Going through each session was like digging through old memories.' Stylistically, of course, this pair have very different musical DNAs, but that means studio work cooks up many surprises along they way and results in an album that is awash with everything from field recordings to guitars and electric piano. It is a mix of playing and programming, has many multilayered tracks full of intimate and personal easter eggs and is, essentially, 'two homies hanging out and having fun; a meeting of our minds.'
Right from the distant vocal mutters and blissful guitar licks of opener 'Fight For Us' featuring Rochelle Jordan there is an seductive r&b sensibility to proceedings. Tumbling drums and pained vocals have you in a love locked free-fall before 'Not Gonna Make It' gets to the point with Sepulcure's trademark stuttering drums and fractured vox. 'Devil Inside,' featuring the pair's long time friend and collaborator Angelica Bess, is future pop from a perfect world, 'No Honey' strips things back to a harmonic headspace of bumpy rubber kicks and percolating jungle percussion, then 'Been So True' shows a playful side, lovable sense of sampling and broken reggae rhythm. The second half of the album explores direct dance floor grooves on 'Hearts in Danger', snaking synths and reverb rich beats on 'Loosen Up' and deeper, more introspective moments on tracks like 'Dub Of' and 'Brother Forest' before closing down with a brace of blissfully melodic and dreamy excursions to a beach during sun down.
With plenty of well paced peaks and troughs along the way, as well as a underlying sense of humour and a very real human warmth, this is an album that works on both head and heel in equal measure.

Fp-oner - 6
MULE200
Mule Musiq
2x12inch27.05.201627.MAY.16

HouseMinimalTechTechnoTechno

he second time around: fred p aka fp-oner is back on mule musiq with another record that demonstrates the many cosmic qualities of his deeper shade of soul.
it is the second part of a trilogy that features his detailed sonic landscapes that are full of mystery and power. while his last fp-oner album 5' was leaning more to the jazzier, relaxed and atmospherically side of his artistically deep house expressions, the runner-up grinds even deeper into spherical worlds that enhance deep meditative highs.
they are not made for club use only. in fact all eleven compositions work also massively without big speakers. again the new york city native that is working on his very own music for almost 20 years produced a journey inwards that is compelling, mesmerising and enchanting.
you find cosmic dust in it as well as dark entropies, percussive power, sweet seducing melodies and rolling bass power that shakes your inner and outer profoundly. the tracks are listening to names like awakening co creator', alternate reality' or adjusted perception' and the album title 6' stands for a meaning,
that fp-oner describes like this: 6 represents the number of man and his or her limitations, weakness and imperfections.
this body of work examines and looks towards one awakening. adapting to a new way of being creating an alternative and reaping a higher state of mind and being. enhanced by love and serenity, satisfaction and joy.'
all tunes are produced around the world, as he is a guy who never stops feeling in sound. that is why he caries his studio around to get up in the middle of the night or right in the morning after a sweaty party to transfer his emotions directly into sound. the result is massively powerful music with slow, intimate passages for treacly melodies, stirring synth-lines and little rhythmical quaintness.
an almost lyrical house journey that works like a musical sculpture in which organic machine grooves float along keys on air. the evolution of the each track is impeccable and their power grows with any new listening session. fp-oner himself characterizes his art like that: 'my music is designed to enhance deep meditative, or altered states, to allow the listener to personally connect to the creator of all that exists in the universe.
my music style is to first create a foundation using cyclic, polyrhythmic music, then build several layers of improvised leads and rhythms that allows you to transcend time and space... we have memories of past lives that reverberate in our hearts like echoes from ancient caves'.
there is nothing more to add, except that those who do not know fp-oner so far should know that he danced in his younger years in legendary new york city clubs like the red zone, sound factory or tunnel to dj sets of larger-than-life selectors like david morales, frankie knuckles or danny tenaglia.
during those nights he learned that sometimes less is more. and that he should rather listen to your heart and soul, then to the susurrus of the music market. most of the eps and albums that he produced under his other monikers like fred p or black jazz consortium have been released via his very own label soul people music, which exists since more then ten years.
as fred p he also dropped 12inches on jus-ed's underground quality imprint as well as on toshiya kawasaki's mule musiq label. for the latter he now is working on a trilogy under the fp-oner alias. this little paper introduces the second part of it. the final one will hit your heart and soul in an unwritten future. whatever circumstances of life will be around by then: you can be sure that fp-oner will transfigure them into a dynamic emotional and spiritual terrain.

Aybee - The Odyssey
DBRCD004
Deepblak Records
CD02.02.201702.FEB.17

HouseDeepTechBeatsAmbient

* Deepblak's Chief Alchemist AYBEE will release his fourth full-length studio album, 'The Odyssey', in November 2016. As befitting its grand title, this newest long-player finds him concerned with personal journeys: both the personal one that has brought him to this point - living in Berlin, 15 years since founding Deepblak in his native Oakland - and the one that beckons for him personally and creatively in future: AYBEE sees himself as being halfway up a mountain, looking back on where he has come from, and to where he will be headed next - both concepts play a profound role in the emotional textures of the album, which in true Deepblak fashion draws from jazz, deep house, techno, hip hop, blues, experimentation, cinema, space, time and infinity.

* 'The Odyssey' represents a change-up for AYBEE in several ways, forged from a desire to keep expectations at bay and throw something of a curveball for those who felt they had him pegged: "a good pitcher always keeps you off balance". This newest work saw him deliberately limit his sound palette in a creative exercise that challenged him to create a full body of work from a small pre-selected library of sonic elements. While this was restricting in some aspects, the approach to - as he puts it - "throw the ingredients in a basket and cook with it later" gave him more freedom to focus on atmosphere and groove instead of putting hours into trying out different options - "otherwise I'd still be in the studio now trying to work out which hi-hat to use on the third track!"

* While the resulting collection of tracks, bound together in sounds used yet disparate in their applications of them, may represent a more accessible AYBEE album than those prior, it still contains within it the DNA of his work with Deepblak Rhythm Czar, Afrikan Sciences - most notably in their improvised, one-take album length Miles Davis homage 'Sketches of Space'. That 2014 LP was closely followed by another collaboration, with Jerome Sydenham and Ron Trent as S.A.T., released on the former's Ibadan Records and pursuing a more techno-driven sound to the polyrhythmic jazz experimentation of 'Sketches'. Elements of both styles can be found in 'The Odyssey', as it moves through tempos and styles, yet the approach he has taken regarding the sounds used ensures it will forever be a unique work in his discography - quite literally nothing in his work before or since will sound like this record.

* 'The Odyssey''s artwork is by the artist Grzegorz Redko (www.grzegorzredko.com), whose animations of the cover art will be released online ahead of the album release, lending another dimension to AYBEE's latest statement of artistic intent, with many more still to come as he keeps climbing that mountain.

In 2001 Aybee launched Deepblak Recordings as a creative outlet for his music. Ultimately catching the attention of Legendary House DJ/Producer Ron Trent. This chance meeting led to Trent signing Aybee to the iconic Prescription Records imprint. After joining the Prescription family AYBEE, along with Trent, would come together to co-found Prescription sub-label Future Vision, and go on to create music as the "Indigenous Space People", and later as S.A.T.

* "Ron was exposed to my music through a friend of his in NY. At this time, Ron was in the NY phase of his career and was a resident at the iconic "Giant Step" parties. I was heavily inspired by his USG output at the time, and I think it was reflected in my music. I would go out in the city to the house joints and hear all styles, but when that USG/Prescription stuff hit at like 3am, it was another level of depth... it was spiritual. "

Argentina's Manuel Sahagun serves up a hypnotising three tracker with Italian producer Ivan Iacobucci on remix duties.

Based in Buenos Aires, Manuel Sahagun has been a key player in his country's electronic music scene for well over a decade now. Kickstarting his career releasing on seminal house imprint Wiggle, more recently Sahagun has appeared on Oblack, Klangkultur Schallplaten and Electronique (including collaborations with fellow Argentinian Jay West). Joining him on the release is Ivan Iacobucci, a Berlinbased producer known for appearances on Apollonia and Holic Trax.

'Latino Tool', as its name suggests, is a rhythmic production produced with DJs in mind featuring a medley of organic percussion before gradually introducing a sultry bassline and distorted chopped vox. In contrast, 'So Wet' takes things deeper with mesmerising synths and sampled crowd noises before the groove led 'Softly' combines shuffling drums with tantalising effects as warming pads ebb into the mix. Ivan Iacobucci then remixes 'Softly' distorting it into an otherworldly dancefloor workout filled with intricate nuances.

CONCEPT is the new baby established by the already international well known artist agency My Favourite Freaks, which consists of a four part and monthly released series starting in December 2015. All tracks will be out on vinyl and only for real and freaky club boyz and party girlz. International celebrated artists of the agency collaborated to create such a big collector's item.

The third release of the CONCEPT Vinyl 03 is packed again with four mind-blowing and hot sounds of the season. Here we go!

Matchy & Bott are in the first row presenting their tune called Mindfugged. Deep techno with mystic vocal samples meets nice bass grooves and lead synth lines. The track is definitely a must have for warm up DJs, but a great enhancement for peak time sets also. So keep an eye/ear on Mindfugged and feel free to spread the vibes!

The second track is produced by Ruben Mandolini, who is always welcome on My Favourite Freaks Music. It's called High & Dry and starts with some oldschool sounding beat loops which lead into a filter madness with a more tech house driven ending. Vocal cuts and synth chords loosen up the song construct. You won't expect such a pumping house mood at the beginning of the track! Detroit tech house with a freaky note.

Mind Craft Glasses is the first track on the flip side. And it's made by Willers Brothers for the CONCEPT series. It's dubby house with running 909 drum sounds packed in a tech house groove and combined with catchy vocal phrases. You don't need any other sounds to get a huge hands up moment on the floor!

dotSTRIPE, already a long term member of the booking agency May Favourite Freaks, delivered of course with The Place the fourth and last track go the release. His typical and evolving tech house beat elements lead into wide atmospheres of synthesizer pads & sounds and his vocal cuts. Pure groove!

Julian Stetter might be best known as 'one half of the electronic pop duo VIMES', but he is no stranger to the Cologne club scene. His debut EP 'Insides' stems from a long history of djing and organising underground parties across the city. His first solo project is now set to be released on the label PNN. It features three tracks plus a remix by Beyou. Stetter's sound is polished and the precise production of each three tracks make this EP feel far from debut. 'Emily' is the first track set to be released this Friday. It draws you in on shimmering waves that rise and break into a deeper and spacier sound. Warm beats are interjected with random snippets of whale song. Listening to Emily feels like receiving a welcome hug at an after party.

Detroit native MGUN aka Manuel Gonzales returns from a two year break from releasing to unveil his debut LP for Don't Be Afraid. Marking the UK-based label's first artist album (DBALP001), 'Gentium' follows a string of highly acclaimed releases on labels also including The Trilogy Tapes, Wild Oats, Third Ear, BAKK, Berceuse Heroique and FIT."About half of these tracks were made in my childhood home between 2007 and2010. Most were recorded on cassette then digitized on a Windows millennium edition PC. I would record these to the standard WAV recorder you can find in the sound preferences, which from there it was possible to use primitive effects to manipulate the audio file.""The other half were produced in my current home studio, using somewhat of the same system I used back then, one take for the most part. There is hardly any multi-tracking involved with any of my productions. I use a basic WAV editor to manipulate recordings as well as various analog recording mediums beforehand."In drawing from these recordings and methods developed over such a long period of time, Gentium captures the growth of a modern electronic artist in a way few albums do, charting the evolution from an unknown quantity in the birthplace of techno to the DJ & producer widely admired today for the fresh immediacy of his approach.

Shenoda - Labour Ep

Aus Music

HouseTech

AUS Music round out 2015 by welcoming Shenoda, long term label friend and one time remixer, for his first full length EP. Originally hailing from Cambridge, Shenoda has been on AUS' radar for some time. Records on Electric Minds, Hypercolour, and ManMakeMusic have dependably carried forth a hefty punch and have managed to tap into stylistic features of House and modern Techno in a manner that marries his sound perfectly with that of AUS. His latest offering is no exception: 4 capacious jams built for a brimful floor.'Labour' gets things going and typifies Shenoda's sound which sets hats and snares scuffling over darting rave stabs locked to a resistless groove. 'If I Could' continues with ruthless, full-bodied drums driving mournful synth-strings nicely contrasted against sharp, metallic bass stabs. 'Streak' then follows up and is the record's most allaying cut - glacial sweeps are entangled with stuttered vocals before 'Sunbeam Bloodstream' melds loose-limbed hat patterns with boiling synth lines and an intense cyclical sequence. Rapturous string riffs are then layered with swirling chords that bring the EP to a wide-eyed conclusion and wrap up another solid record on AUS".

TRACKLIST: Corot-7b Corot-7b (John Tejada Remix) Sysop 1 Expressway Acid Camp Records launches now with its debut release, Simic's "Corot-7b." The Seattle- based artist's full-length EP, features four original tracks along with a remix of the record's single "Corot-7b" by John Tejada. The 300-piece release is a double-sided 12" pressed in Europe, and mastered & cut in Berlin by Stefan at Scape Mastering. The title track sets the mood for a truly special record. Deep at heart, the moody track brings an expansive, spacey vibe. It's a dynamic techno track that centers you. Tejada remixes "Corot-7b" into a groovier, forward-moving track with a bassline that brings forth a bouncy and overarching uplifting mood. Whether it be a sunrise set or poolside feels, this is what your perfect sun-filled day sounds like. "Sysop 1 opens up side B with a catchy, quick-witted synth line that eventually draws in a light tempered shaker. The first two minutes of the track build you up to release you into an airy and atmospheric vibe. Then the synth line enters for a cosmic cool down that waxes and wanes between building the track up to bring it back down. The last track on the record, "Expressway," is light and dreamy — a diverse ambient track that can be the perfect warm up or cool down. The track makes eloquent use of percussion in the form of chimes, wood blocks, and bells. This release holds court with Acid Camp's expanding reputation. Just like the podcasts and parties, this record is uncompromisingly thoughtful and well curated. It lends to us surreal, forward-thinking tracks that are notably memorable & dynamic.
