Love Letters - Suburban Attractive Complex
CGI017
CGI

HouseTech

One night we were listening to a mix that had been freshly assembled by Fit Of Body when a particular track caught my ear, and when I asked Ryan about it he referred me to Love Letters's soundcloud page. From there I began a conversation with the artist known as Love Letters and after listening to a handful of demos it became very clear that we needed to put some of this music on a record. As such we are proud to present to you the Suburban Attractive Complex EP.After a little back-and-forth we arrived at a tracklist that leads off with the playful strings and chopped-vocals from a late-top-40-princess expertly arranged over serious bass and endlessly inspired rhythmic arrangements of "Who Was Driving" Next the tone turns inward as the melancholic bass of "F+" closes out the A-side with sweeping strings and horns over a rolling rhythm of analog kicks and cleverly designed drum hits.

Kicking back into high-gear on the flip, "Sporty Presentation" bursts out of the speakers with a robust funk and playfully-aggressive, atheltic tone that is too infectious not to notice. Rounding out the release is the epic Digital Favoritism," whose warped chords of triumph buoy incredible feats of rhythm and melody that builds into a frenzy of ecstatic motion.

Love Over Entropy - Sea Ep
SOHASO010
Something Happening Somewhere
12inch24.06.201624.JUN.16

HouseElectroTech

White Vinyl

The enduring search seemed to lead further away from the nooks and crannies of the land, hiding in the remote silence and depth of the undiscovered. Novelty always awaits around the corner.

Proving his quality time and time again, we continue with the next chapter in the Love Over Entropy saga on Something Happening Somewhere. Completing the trinity, this is a meticulously crafted adventure, full of sound and fury, told by someone foolish enough to pose the question.

The narrative takes off with Sea, encompassed by an ever evolving yearning melody that slowly engulfs and stirs the depths of heart strings. The chant unfolds and rumbles, letting go of the well known, slowly venturing into uncharted and unexplored territories. An eight minute long contemplation for the wandering soul.

Discarding the old, Worth While is a reminder that strange things can be encountered in the infinite abyss of the obscure. With its unsettling atmosphere, Love Over Entropy exploits shimmering cymbals and bends a 303 synth line in peculiar ways. Consequently applying an unrestrained force that lures you into the lair before intensifying and dissolving back to a calm surface.

The appendage is conceived in the form of Finisterre, a ceremonial celebration that revolves back whence we originated. The accolade is obtained by an arpeggiated bell melody line that flourishes and tickles the ears with a cheerful liveliness, delivering a sense of grace.

The odyssey remains a dreamlike memory beyond recorded time. Muddy waters may be best cleared by leaving it alone...

Quince - Rif Ep
SOHASO009
Something Happening Somewhere
12inch16.12.201616.DEC.16

HouseTech

It has been a year since we last heard something from him, but in the meanwhile things have been sweltering beneath the surface. Last we saw him, he vanished into a sculpture that bended the rules of our three dimensional reality. Finally, here we are. Being stuck inside a rusty hypercube trying to find your way out, crawling around the different tunnels all leading to new spaces that puzzle the mind. Tangible, tactile shapes forming a comprehensive physical world without containing a discernible contour. Flat pictures that once inspected transform into multidimensional spaces. The room fades into infinity, and all that's left is an overdose of sensory stimulation. But don't worry. Quince is here to help you find your way out.
After an album on Delsin, releases on Music Man, Kompakt's Speicher series and his track 'Europe on our SOMEWHERE compilation, Quince is back after a short hiatus on Something Happening Somewhere with a four track killer no filler EP that oozes character out of every sweaty pore. Making the kind of records you still remember after an intense club night slowly comes to an end, Quince presents a diverse pallet of sounds to choose from.
'Rif' provides perfect sturdy dance floor material with Quince's compelling groove trusting alongside splintered melodies and Detroit influenced synth sounds producing a sense of undeniable optimism. B1's 'Coïtus' shares a similar punch, combining raspy synth stabs with a detuned bell pad giving the feeling that you're sucked into a wormhole propelling you towards an unknown location.

'Propheet' hits you in the gut like nothing you've experienced before, like a smack in the face in the most positive way imaginable. It's a raw driving electro cut, sounding like it could be coming from a long forgotten industrial era, with so much vibe that sweat starts dripping instantly. Think of it as travelling trough the wormhole and realizing you ended up in a dark nightmare of the soul. 'Stop' sounds like the musical equivalent of an artificial intelligent life form's onboard computer slowly malfunctioning, experiencing true emotions in the downfall. It could be the sound of that intense night coming to an end and fits the closing of this class ep by Quince flawlessly.

My Favourite Freaks Music - Concept01
MFF001
My Favourite Freaks Music
excl14.12.201514.DEC.15

HouseTechTechnoTechno

1st Pressing LTD 180g!

Concept is the new baby established by the already international well known artist agency My Favourite Freaks, which consists of a four part and monthly released series starting in December 2015. All tracks will be released on vinyl and only for real and freaky club boyz and party girlz. International celebrated artists of the agency collaborated to create such a big collector's item.
The first Concept EP is featuring four techno and tech house tracks for every occasion.

Christian Smith opens the show with his techno track - Drive like a firework. Fast and groovy played 909 hihats combined with a repeating lead bass loop is always a guarantor for a peak time track. But it's not enough with that. Christian adds a second acid like synth line, which drills his message in your brain: Party like a freak!

Already known for great tracks on My Favourite Freaks Music, Hermanez delivered his next techno beat monster - Technoid . Composed of different layers of filtered beats and synth lines, the groove tantalizes everybody who is listening. Techno par excellence!

After his album Transitions, Danny Serrano is back in his studio and created another stomping techno tune called - Trumped . Hypnotic looped vocals and minimalistic melodies with a huge break down lead into a classic and functional techno drop. This is definitely a big tool for DJs and of course a great peak time track for all dancefloors!

Last but not least, the already successful collaboration M.in & Yost Koen round the first Concept EP off with their interpretation of technoid tech house. The result is a minimal 909 beat driven track named - Booty Clap . The stompy groove and the catchy synth line is a demand to dance - get your dancing shoes and clap as much booties as you can!

Red Rack'em - Self Portrait
BERGLP001
Bergerac
2x12inch20.02.201720.FEB.17

HouseDeepMinimalTech

Respected producer and DJ Red Rack'em is due to release his new album 'Self Portrait' this February via his own label Bergerac.

Formed over the course of four years during a "transitional" period after moving to Berlin, 'Self Portrait', as the title suggests, is a true reflection of Danny Berman and his influences.

Red Rack'em has fully mastered his signature blend of house and disco along with his cut and paste attitude to sampling on the forthcoming LP. Crowd noise can be heard from live recordings, whilst hiss and crackle from snippets of Youtube clips add texture - the distinctive repeated vocal on 'Tomato Pope' is from an old heavy South American funk track, gleaned from an obscure DJ mix. It's an approach that is innately tied to the producer, whose love for DJing started out in sample-heavy hip-hop and who taught himself to produce whilst working full time as a television editor.

His talent for writing original vocals stands out elsewhere, on 'You Used To Make Me Feel' "a self dissection of past attitudes to romance". 'Hot Weekend', an early highlight of the album "about tripping your head off with a lover and wondering if the relationship is worth anything" - features the vocal and songwriting talents of City Hayes, a.k.a DJ Flic. A New Zealander now living in Bali, and friend of the producer, the pair are regular collaborators.

Elsewhere, Detroit legend Rick Wade makes his featured vocalist debut on 'The Music' after Berman was inspired by interviewing him on his Smuggler's Inn radio show whilst Rick was staying at his apartment in Berlin. Picking out a section where Rick talked about secretly listening to disco and funk as a child, Danny hit up the deep house pioneer who loved the idea and was happy to be a part of the album.

Much of 'Self Portrait' carries a somewhat cinematic, dreamy quality, with every track having its own personal story. Yet it never loses its sense of fun or danceability, as is evident on the first single, and one of this year's biggest tracks, 'Wonky Bassline Disco Banger'. Played out everywhere by the likes of The Black Madonna, Moodymann and Motor City Drum Ensemble, the quirky hit set expectations high for the upcoming album.

'Self Portrait' is the culmination of years of musical exploration from an artist who started his career as a teenage scratch DJ in a remote Scottish fishing village. He moved onto jungle in Bristol, techno in Edinburgh, and house in Liverpool before finding his sound in Berlin. He spent years teaching music before taking it up full time, and has long been championed by Gilles Peterson. He's been running his tastemaking Smuggler's Inn radio show for a decade with an accompanying label, in addition to Berman's other two labels Bergerac and Nettles. Berman's genuine love for his craft is evident across all these multiple projects.

'I just want to show everyone who I am and what I am about. This is my personality and character and what I believe in. Do you hear what I hear"

Various - Hypercolour 10 Years
136221 / HYPELP7
Hypercolour
3x12inch09.11.201609.NOV.16

HouseDeepTech

It would be fair to say that Hypercolour , the UK label founded by Alex Jones and Jamie Russell , have come a long way since the label's inception 10 years ago. From humble beginnings, to a roster of artists spanning across continents, genres, styles, and sounds, the label curates a very special 16 track compilation album to celebrate ten years of operation , and to capture the essence of the label's ethos and energies that have been at the forefront of the label's output in recent times.Over the years, Hypercolour have represented and nurtured young talent within the house, techno and bass communities, with Jones and Russell enlisting the A&R assistance (and all important extra pair of ears) of Ste Roberts to help steer the label's direction. Household names, such as Maya Jane Coles , Huxley and Mosca , all achieved considerable success on the label with singles that really captured dance music's shift back into the mainstream, with clever, sophisticated and pop-centric house music. Representing a more left of centre sound, the likes of Kris Wadsworth , Glimpse and Tom Demac have developed into artists with a wide sonic palette and career to boot, whilst long serving 'legends' of the scene, such as Luke Vibert (and his Kerrier District alias), Laurent Garnier and Groove Armada have all signed up to the labels vision and direction for well received singles and albums.
A glance at the all-star cast on 'Hypercolour 10 Years' reveals appearances by some of the aforementioned producers (Vibert, Demac) and also presents brand new material from the current crop of musical misfits currently shaping and influencing the Hypercolour sound. A breadth of deep techno, raw and uncompromising house music, frenetic breakbeat and old school flavours are delivered in style by the likes of Roman Flugel , FaltyDL , Matthew Herbert , DMX Krew , Dense & Pika , A Sagittariun and The Analogue Cops . The quality remains at the highest level throughout as tempos and moods dip and dive, with Sebastian Mullaert , Yaleesa Hall X Malin , Gary Gritness , Matt Karmill and Neil Landstrumm all giving us their very best and helping the label move into it's eleventh year in very rude health!

Daze Maxim - Beginning An Ending
AS-07
Assemble Music
12inch10.02.201410.FEB.14

HouseDeepMinimalTechTechno

Daze Maxim adds another episode to his practice of long-form explorations, on this his second release for Lisbon's Assemble Music. This time he's joined by a master in this field, Baby Ford, whose remixes over the past few years continue his own distinctive development of extended minimal house trips.
Daze's 'Beginning An Ending' rides a skippy, loose beat for several minutes, the snares and hats gradually opening up as wordless vocalizations exclaim and interject with increasing regularity, the bass bumping contentedly underneath. Pads join the equation for an intricate midsection - evoking memories of Alcachofa-era happy experimentalism that nonetheless fit within Daze Maxim's disciplined and dancefloor-oriented approach.
Peter Ford recasts the original into his now unmistakable soundspace, where the push and pull between front-and-centre rhythmic components and evanescent background atmospherics creates that recognizable but undefinable sense of emotion, felt but unexplained. In Ford's world there isn't anything as simple as a beginning or an end, so the remix provides a valuable counterpoint to the original. Given their now impressive track record, it's no surprise that Assemble Music has pulled off another cohesive statement that works equally on the body and the mind.

Carsten Jost - Perishable Tactics
DIALCD039
Dial Records CD
CD10.02.201710.FEB.17

HouseTechTechnoDub

In the midst of a busy year, full of wildly-varied accomplishments, David Lieske (aka Carsten Jost) has surprised us all with an unannounced 11-track full-length album on Dial-- his first since 2000's "You Don't Need A Weatherman..." In the interim he's kept busy curating countless releases on Dial, the label he co-runs with Peter "Lawrence" Kersten, celebrated a 15 year label anniversary with an all-encompassing 2LP/various artists'

compilation, released a gallery-edition album of his black ambient collaboration Misanthrope CA with Robert Kulisek, "Deathbridge" and launched a new magazine project (also with Kulisek) named after the speed of light i.e. "299792458m/s". All this activity, even after his recent trans-atlantic relocation from Berlin to New York City, mainly to open the American branch of Mathew Gallery has surely taken us all by welcome surprise.
Out of all of the Dial house and techno artists, Carsten Jost has always represented the most precise brand of exquisitely doom-laden house, laced with equally strong doses of melancholy and beauty. Here on "Perishable Tactics", Lieske runs through his distinctively stealthy low-slung beat-mospheres, leaning towards a decidedly low-lit and sultry space, but mixed with a fresh, gently arc-ing feeling of romance and dare I say itLove() Tellingly he's seen it fit to include 2007's "Love"-one of his best e.p. tracks from a split release with Efdemin. But while "Love" represents a climbing and yearning towards a place where love might reside, the remaining new tracks debuting here seem to represent a place where this love actually exists. This feeling is woven into his deep, medium tempo, detroit-inflected house rhythms, accented with crystalline keys, disembodied voices at times and gently soaring strings. While anger may be less in the forefront here it is important to notice that these tracks are ripe with the balance of joy and unease inherent in house. There is definitely a newfound languidity here that feels particularly like a moment shared by two (perhaps amongst many) but the atmosphere still remains decidedly pensive. See "Ambush" with it's strolling beat, moody yet sweet chords and chilling atmosphere later joined by thunder cracking in an almost-approving-manner a safe-distance away.
Of course diehard fans will find satisfaction knowing that Lieske's delectable angst hasn't completely abated. Title track "Perishable Tactics" takes a disarmingly peaceful setting and rolls a heavy fog over it to herald a sure-to-arrive fate that awaits us all. (See also "Army Green".). But with "Dawn Patrol" the whispering hi-hat and gently clanking rhythm offset by rolling strings marries the old and new Carsten Jost most successfully. All of this atmosphere bookended by ambient intro and outro tracks by Misanthrope CA make for a perfectly foreboding, elegant and deliciously dark new album release by Carsten Jost.

Eduardo De La Calle - Leistung & Entwicklung Ep
MEMENTO027
Memento Records
12inch28.10.201528.OCT.15

HouseTechLimitedTechnoMinimal

After remixing Idriss D's Alger', Eduardo De La Calle returns to Memento Records with a 2 tracker. The Spanish vinyl maestro, Analog Solutions label owner and Beatz documentary maker delivers 2 majestic cuts of Deep Techno at its best, inspired by the early Ricardo Villalobos music released on Kanzleramt or Playhouse some 15 years ago.
Following the same ideas of building and de-constructing sound patterns made up of pure Minimal elements, Eduardo here tries to be as simple as he can: direct and repetitive, back and forth non stop compositions that take on a life of their own as they expand and contract. The EP was made in a week of intense and mesmerizing studio work.
Die Einfuhrung' is a 10 minute number where Korg Poly 61 arpeggios and spellbinding melodies draw the listener down a psychedelic hole of frequency shiftings and lysergic percussions. Sonst Werden' is built around hazy chords and ghostly vocal snippets soaked in a feedback of tape delay, sinister ambient sounds vibrating in the background.

HouseDeepElectronicaTech

For their 27th release Dame-Music is proud to present the Chicago based duo Innerspace Halflife with "Custom LSE' EP. Akim Murphy and Ike Release, a.k.a Innerspace Halflife, first appeared on Dame-Music with their remix of Anaxander "You saved my Soul' last year.

Following their latest 12 inch LP "Astral Travelling' on Synapsis Records,The Chicago "Smart bar' residents return on Bloody Mary's imprint for their own EP including remix from The Jaydes and Anaxander. With "Custom LSE', Innerspace Halflife delivered a cosmic techno tune spiced up by an acidic bass line and solid drums pattern.

As we gently get introduced to the galactic spirit of the track, chords of atmospheric pads reveal themselves matching perfectly the percussion line keeping the flow running through that journey in an other galaxy.

On the B-side, The Jaydes transformed "Custom LSE' into a a pick time Techno banger keeping the pressure level high with a shortened bass-line filtered sweep through the all length. On his end, Anaxander re-customised the original track by adding rhythmic elements on his own arrangement develloping a moodier temper and increasing the overall speed of the tune.

IDLE027
Idle Hands
12inch16.02.201516.FEB.15

HouseTechTechnoTechno

Spanish producer I.A. Bericochea has been hiding his talents in the shade for some time now. Idle Hands boss Chris Farrell first came across his productions many moons ago when he released two of the finest 12"s on the m_nus label and a superb self released LP 'Sueno'.

In those days his productions quietly asserted themselves as some of the most beguiling in minimal techno. His sparse, avant garde approach to the genre was at odds with the limp bleeps and blips that came to dominate the scene. In the intervening years his output has itself been somewhat minimal... Now Bericochea is back, making his debut for Idle Hands with the 'Wake Up' EP. Simply titled W1-4, here we find Bericochea at his best channeling all that was good about his earlier productions but sounding more vital than ever in an era of overly shiny house and blokey hard techno.

Over the past few years, LOWLOW has previously released on Seattle's Night Gallery and Millions of Moments and has proved himself adept at getting plenty of soul and meaning out of his array of analogue machines. This new EP is no different and comes with a special catalogue number, FBNM-H910, which is a nod to the Eventide H910 Harmonizer - a pitch shifter that generates obscure melodies and that was used extensively on the two tracks here.

A side 'Lower States' is a beautiful example of analogue music where you can pick out the harmonizer on the clap and on the pitch shifted delay. It's a raucous, off beat house track with gloopy synths, acid rumbles and plenty of malfunctioning machine sounds all sounding pleasingly rough and ready.

On the flipside, 'Lowest Sun' expertly samples a vocal from Larry Levan's mix of Jaki's 'Sun Sun Sun' and buries it in a supple deep house arrangement that oozes warmth, soul and has a perfectly grumbling bassline.

Once again, this is a hugely considered and beautifully assembled package that more than separates FBNM from the crowd.

Pablo Inzunza - Manipulation Ep
BBR021
Bad Barbie Records
excl08.02.201608.FEB.16

HouseTechTechnoMinimal

For this first vinyl release of 2016 we have the big pleasure to bring you a great three track release called Manipulation EP by nothing else than Pablo Inzunza. The first track called Manipulation is a more than great tech house piece, with several arrangements on the base, where the rhythmic elements takes over letting us appreciate the perfect blend of several percussion layers working together with a superb production quality, and also creating alongside the solid bass line an extremely danceable club track with an amazing groove and party vibe. The second track, Arial Black, has a much more darker and techno vibe than the previous one with a very simple but effective groove created by a minimalistic base and subtle ambience elements, which helps create this almost hypnotic vibe. But it's not all darkness, about three minutes after the start we can start appreciating some deep synth stabs playing around with a filter and saturation to give a warmer touch to this fantastic track and closing the idea perfectly with a melodic touch. The last of the three tracks is Overcast, which presents a continuous string bass, which generates an intricate groove that stars softly with base elements only, until the vocals starts to appear, mainly during the break, and of course they get perfectly complemented with all sort of crazy elements from percussions to synths that creates a super interesting articulation between all the elements, giving order to the complexity of the production process. For sure this is a more than amazing release with three different pieces for several moments of the night.

Patrick Specke & Daze Maxim - Drag Me Battery Ep
AS-10
Assemble Music
12inch16.02.201516.FEB.15

HouseDeepMinimalTech

Extended precision-tooled killers on this latest EP from specialist label Assemble Music, which reunites Daze Maxim with his long-time friend and collaborator Patrick Specke. The two put their considerable DJ experience to the proof on two serious heads-down weapons aimed squarely at the floor: 'Battery' rides a threatening bassline and loose, propulsive percussion through a series of phased synth lines that envelop and disorientate, while the Portside Waves-esque bass swells on 'Drag Me' massage the eardrums and direct the feet. Completing the EP in complementary fashion is 'Chromosome', which brings some more skip to proceedings, its shuffling percussion, pitchbent bassline and melodic accents all interlocking to form an irresistible groove. Primed and ready for action and only on vinyl - get it while it's hot.
