Recorded in County Durham, sounds captured in the surrounding area became part of the music. Rain is transformed into white noise, at one point a melody line mimicked by a starling - all the result of endless processes and cycles. The techniques used in creating 'Embers' allegorically mirror these processes.
Arpeggios self-evolve and are interconnected, randomness introduced utilising two similar pairs of synthesizers so that their cycles are ever changing and naturally evolving.
'Embers' start and end appear the same allowing it to cycle endlessly - the 2xLP 180g vinyl edition has been created so that the listener can mix the album without breaks across two turntables. The album artwork itself is an interpretive score of the music, using another media to view the world from a different angle.

Just This 's first Various Artists aims to the research of a mix of sounds by producers from different countries, to a journey into a variegated world. Melancholic vibes, deep ambient atmospheres.
The second part of the Various Artists, gets straight to the point, reaching the dancefloor in a more hard and deep insistent way.
The First track ''Inside world'' is composed by Hunter/Game, as a playful banger with a solid kick, brushed percussions and surging, subtly atmospheric synth pads that make the track dreamy while fierce.
The Second one by Pisetzky comes with a strong, continuous 4/4 bassline and organic percussion from start to end, further on dominated by a hypnotic melody followed by a more romantic and dreamy motif full of longing melancholy and eternity.
The third one comes from Just This new Artist Altman, with a breaking
mellow downbeat theme, it lets all squeaky sounds mesh nicely
like a dream landscape opening up into a widescreen chord progression, with an epic build up.
Following releases from label heads Dusky and Christian Piers, 17 Steps returns with an awaited label debut from Velvit (Darren White) that offers both forward-thinking club sounds and leftfield sonics.
Co-opting the dark, technical style that Darren has long practised as drum & bass legend dBridge, lead track 'Be So Cruel' adds a fresh perspective on house and techno forms that instantly stood out from the pack.
Blending dark grooves and sinister mechanics with Darren's own soulful vocals, 'Be So Cruel' has been heavily anticipated ever since it featured in Dusky's Resident Advisor mix last year.
Featuring the vocals of his brother Steve Spacek, 'No Excuses' is a stripped soul roller with dense rhythms and mad jazz moments that works as both meditative headphone trip and experimental dancefloor moment.
Completing a diverse triple header, 'South Of 01Your Soul' takes things down a futuristic electro vibe with dark sci-fi cinematics battling it out with body-popping beats and Darren's distinctive cyborg soul vocals.

Mak & Pasteman are pleased to announce a pair of new Artists into the Materials fold, Woz & Troy Gunner aka WxT. With success across the board in their own right on Black Butter & Mindset the pair join forces for their first joint venture on the Materials imprint.
"Convo" is a big room arpeggiated techno heater, pairing emotive vocals with an air of darkness that fits perfectly with the Materials aesthetic.
"Hudson Moore" uses clanging metallic percussion and rattling sub notes to meld grime influences and techno mentality into a tough roller that was built for the club.
"Sweat" rounds off this broad debut EP, a sultry roller that grooves a simple melody over tight 808 beats creating something raw & melodic.

André Hommen's 'Bassari People' EP drops on Objektivity, and it's sure to cause a stir on the global dancefloor. A unique bundle of groovy goodness inspired by the Bassari tribe, a small group of people from Senegal. Andre stumbled across the tribe in a series of YouTube videos, and thus the record concept was born. 'Bassari People' is getting support from the right people: Solomun, Dixon, Tensnake, Marcus Worgull and Mano Le Tough among them. A.R.M.C. on the b side may not be a 'dancefloor bomb', but the hidden qualities layered in the track really showcase André's production skills.

The album 'A Little Comedy, A Little Drama' by Dusty Baron is the result of collaboration of Moldavian fellows Eugen Kara, Ivan Slivka and Dima Scripnic. This collaboration has been lasting in the course of 2016, with miscellaneous recordings at home studios, including Moldavian Radio and Television Studio.
Inspired by French and Italian psychedelic electronic music of 60s and 70s, cartoons and the comedian genre of absurd, the trio tried to incarnate their vision of the Space into a LP comprising 13 tracks. Vintage synthesiser lines and classic drum machines create a hugely entertaining blend intoxicated with universal love. Now and then you trace the combinations of techno rhythms rushing into the futuristic vertical, and sometimes the sound transforms into a blend of absolute and exotically influenced reverie.

Seth Troxler continues to maintain ineffable consistency in steadily releasing cross-genre club music across his diverse collection of labels and readies the next 12' on his no-nonsense Imprint Play It Say it. In the wake of the success from the last installment from The Mekanism comes the 7th record on the label - this time showcasing the lauded production skills of Butch.
OTHERSIDE Records co-owner and a mainstay of institutes such as Cécille Records and Visionquest, Butch is an extolled veteran. Few producers have spread their catalogue as eruditely - across releases on Hot Creations, Sei Es Drum, Desolat, Rekids and Moon Harbour - Butch has touched on many bases but managed to maintain a level of consistency that's kept him in high demand.
Now - in the follow up to his 'Songs About Unconsciousness' EP on Watergate Records, he returns with his 'Dope' EP: a funk-indebted package of taught and effective House music.
The title track kicks things off with a rich textural atmosphere sat atop tumbling bongos and a steadily circling riff. Additive percussion and distant vocal tones build momentum in a pure dance floor groove before 'Praise The Lord' rolls out Butch's take on a classic Big John Hamilton break. Mangled, delayed vocals stream in ahead of an elongated breakdown that's guaranteed to send the floor into rapture in another prime addition to the Play It Say It series"

After more then a year, Italian label Kosmophono is back with their second chapter on vinyl. The tasty release features a selection of great artists and seductive sounds and gives you a taster of the many other great projects lined up on this label for this year.
For the A-side, Fuse London resident Antony Difrancesco joins forces with Dutch born Ferro and opens up with the aggressive and hypnotic "Des", with its tough drums and mesmerising pads. Next up is ''tINI and the Gang" regular, Crocodile Soup, who brings his deeper side into action on ''These Shoes Are Made For Walking'', a track that is elastic and seductive and expertly arranged. David Gtronic's signature drums and trippy pads then mark a stunning opening to the B-side on 'Down the Burrow' and last but not least, He Did closes the vinyl with "Algunas Palabras', a track with a mixture of minimalistic and natural sounds that make for compelling listening and perfectly showcase the He Did sound. This is a classy EP from a label that the world needs to get behind as they continue to grow.

Let's focus on Ricardo Tobar: Born in Chile and now residing in France, Tobar picked the "creative border crossing" as the common thread for his album "Collection". Musical experimentation and crossing musical borders - Tobar refers here directly to the style and sound of the great new-wave-bands of the 80s and 90s. With the help and influence of their new electronic instruments (that often met classic rock guitars) the post-punk-electronic-movement turned almost everything upside down. No matter if the result was moody and mysterious or romantic and hedonistic, all sounded new and different back then and paved the musical path for a whole generation - the reverberations of that episode are noticeable until today.
Tobar plays with the musical approach of the post-punk-era, he mixes, merges and experiments fearless with styles and moods. He creates a wide range of "own styles" and even dives into abstract sound fields - listening electronic in best form! Ricardo Tobar breathes the air of his own musical universe and is not refering to the typical styles of this genre - you won't find any Detroit, Berlin or Sheffield reference here. Although produced in France, Tobar's album doesn't have anything of the sweet and lovely french listening touch. It also won't beam you into the north of England and the grey and cold Sheffield winter like so many other electronic albums try to do.
"Collection" contains full compositions, sound collages, experimental sounds and even proper beat based tunes. Tobar rather creates than produces and is presenting a bigger picture with his collection. Many electronic music artists are trying to do this however Tobar delivers a collection with an impressive range and it seems he did all this in an almost nonchalant way. He plays and combines his instruments and sounds at the same time very sensitive and harmonic but also brave and dissonant without risking to be inaudible at any point. He creates atmospheres by using electronic sounds and layers. Listening to the sound of "collection" almost appears like reading an acoustic book. This album is full of interesting sounds and ideas and is far from being boring or even too demanding.

FRANKFURT'S ROBERT DIETZ FIRST SOLO RELEASE ON DESOLAT Robert Dietz has been one of the most consistent producers around in recent years, with releases on a diverse assortment of labels including Cecille, Cadenza, Running Back and Saved Records. While Robert's 'Your So Hood' track featured on the Desolat X Sampler back in March, then this will be his long-awaited debut solo release on Desolat, and as one would expect from such a talented producer it is a an striking EP. 'Pherrox' kicks the EP off in startling style. The track has a brooding tone and trudges along, characterised by a sharp beat and a dark distorted vocal, with computerised stabs piercing the soundscape. 'Sweatshop' follows in a different vein and builds, with punchy hi-hats, acid bass, spoken word samples, a panning siren combining brilliantly and resulting in a medley of hedonistic vibes. Next up is 'Who Am I', which takes a techier-tangent and sees an off-kilter beat, another gloriously manipulated vocal, and percussion spirals effortlessly merge on this mechanical monster. Rounding things up is 'Mind Trap', which is another robotic mutation featuring a disfigured vocal, electronic squelches, and swirling pulses of bass. On the 'X' EP it is clear that Robert has lived up to his billing as one of the most consistently brilliant producers over the last few years. The X EP is evidence that Robert Dietz has drawn upon all his years of experience to craft an accomplished debut record for Desolat full of distorted textures, striking details and mechanical sounds.

After last month's »Busted Moniker« EP from Quarion, Retreat is thrilled to announce a new 12 courtesy of house music's most energetic duo, the incomparable Session Victim! The aptly titled »Two Man House Band EP« is the lads' first record since their 2014 magnum Opus »See You When You Get There« and perfectly transcribes the energy that Session Victim pour into their incendiary live show. Tailormade for a night out in the club or a joyous day at the festival, the »Two Man House Band EP« once again prooves that Session Victim are unstoppable in their pursuit of the ultimate groove! »Summer Games« is an ode to that most festive of seasons and could easily hold the claim of being Retreat's »biggest« track so far. Built around an Hypnotic organ loop, »SummerGames« completely blurs the lines between house, funk and soul : rolling breakbeats, catchy vocal snippets and a very groovy bassline are the core elements of this anthem that could rock any party. Yet Session Victim add a slight twist in the form of a melancholic string motive that appears in two chiseled breakdowns. It's a little reminder that summers do not last forever and that one should enjoy them while they last ... Flip the record in order to dive into the deeper realms of »Black Cream«, a more reflective track for the late hours. With its jazzy (almost broken) beat, guitar licks, rhodes pads, subtle percussion and ethereal vocals, »Black Cream« is the soundtrack to an exciting underwater trip with Matthias and Hauke at the controls. Thanks to the captains' lively drum programming, the track flows effortlessly and we're treated with many surprises along the way before a gradual rise brings us back to the surface. »Finderlohn« is a smokey downtempo workout which finds Session Victim digging deep in their collection to demonstrate their prowess in manipulating samples.

High off the back of exquisite releases in 2014 from Luca Lozano & Mr. Ho and Nicson, Disc Over's first installment of 2015 comes from label head Tim Green - A three track EP bursting with two classic TG productions and grooves which is then given another dimension with a remix from the talented German born producer Borrowed Identity. The EP kicks off with the aptly named 'Scar' - a track which when heard, truly makes it mark. It sets the tone for the rest of the EP with it's prominent bassline and haunting howls whilst dreamlike keys bounce and float above. Track two, 'We Thought' is taken down a gear but keeps all of the groove built from 'Scar'. It begins with a simple trademark TG bassline and is allied with light and free singular keys. The listener is then joined by vocals which along with the previous elements take you on a real trip. Borrowed Identity speeds things up right away with his remix of 'We Thought'. The track is morphed into a dancefloor groove with the comforting vocals darkened, cut and reworked on top of an unpredictable and fluctuating bassline. Managing to keep the identity of Tim's original the track becomes something completely different and certainly makes you feel you want to take the trip.

Could Ellen Allien and Thomas Muller be crowned the new dream team of tech-house In all modesty - with their current collaboration and the resulting 12" Free Nation the two long-standing label colleagues have delivered four absolutely killer tracks. The basic framework initially came about in Ellen's living room. Ultimately the tracks were completed independently of one another in Berlin and Thomas' previous home city of Paris. It is remarkable how a common starting point can lead to such different results: the Grande Dame of tech-house has her puppets dancing with no inhibitions as she mixes freaky noises with deliciously overdriven Roland SH-101 synth lines in 'Free Nation' and Jupiter 6 synth lines in Delta Zoo before launching an all-out assault on the ears with an explosive mixture of straight-up, bone-dry, old-school beats. This creates a sumptuous retro-techy sound that still throbs with the energy of the present day. Thomas also takes a very punchy approach to his edits of Free Nation and Delta Zoo. Contrary to Ellen, however, he often leaves space between the straight-up, bone-dry beats for trippy atmospherics and subtly dispersed house elements. These lend his tracks a certain laid-back elegance, but without diminishing their raw power in the slightest - without doubt four genuine floor-fillers and an extremely promising artist liaison!

Trained in jazz guitar, Juxtpose turned to techno after hearing Underground Resistance and Carl Craig interviewed on label boss Ennio Styles' radio show. Before long, Juxtpose was playing alongside Harvey Sutherland and catching the attention of Stacey Pullen, Roska, Martyn, Slam and Horse Meat Disco. 'Technometry' centres around a huge buzzing bassline filled out with jacking drum machine beats, swirling synth pads and a gurgling vocal hook. Christian Vance contributes a raw and driving remix, showing why his skills have been sought out by Derrick May (for a collab in Carl Craig's studio!), Ripperton, Aril Brikha, Tresor and Versatile Records. Swedish keyboard maestro Opolopo (remixer to Gregory Porter and Joey Negro) then turns techno into new jack swing with his funky ghostbusting remix. Also included is 'Boneshaker', a percussive and housier track that lives up to its name, sporting a bassline with the weight to match 80s classics like Adamski & Seal's 'Killer' or Kenny Jammin' Jason & Fast Eddie's 'Can U Dance'.

Roberto Capuano releases his first single on Truesoul with two exceptional tracks that show a tech-ier side to Roberto's sound and one that impresses throughout.
The title track 'Never Stop' has been a highlight in Adam Beyer's sets and its easy to understand why.
The creeping vocal and driving drums are an inaugural part of the track before the uniquely pleasing pads drop in and create a gripping and immersive track to get lost in. 'Around' is a tech-ier track that implements a throbbing underlying bass line that sits and keeps the track driving under a roaring vocal.

Cheeky Bed Bugs - Marilips: Knowing the quality of ruff and raw housey sounds that both Fabio Monesi and DJ Octopus are prone to in their tracks, Cheeky Bed Bugs is a collaboration that we have craved for and it comes in a gritty and dancefloor oriented form. Starting off as a warm and funky piece, Marilips soon goes into a puncher with a moving bassline and a reverbed claps while the main sequence taints it with an ominous feel. The whole track is enveloped in an almost burned texture giving it pretty live sound that will heat your feet in the club. Nothing short of a cheeky feel! Rimbaudian - Tonight:
If you check up Rimbaudian¥s work you will soon notice that he has a great feel for fusing sharp rhythmics with warm vocals. Tonight is a profound mixture of well swinged rhythm and emotive piano-synth notes. Playful vocal sections are dancing around in unison while the right amount of stabs and crashes give a subtle but steady and deep tone to it. Whether you apply it like an intro track, morning riser or just an intimate listening tool, this track has all the necessary ingredients for a soulful and melodic experience. Sagats - Raining Days: Raining Days is all about pouring the fat acid droplets on your senses. This massive ride is carried by delaying 707 elements while reappearing 303 is making narrow curves through the storm of repeating rimshots and claps. With this one, Sagats really nails the definition of a pulsating dancefloor monster that contracts and expands throughout the whole length. Mix this with a powerful output system and you have a volatile mixture ready to bring the walls to the ground.
Christian Kroupa - Jackin For Good:
In the last few years Slovenia has spewed some pretty interesting names and Christian is surely one of them. With a wide palette of rich combinations in his tracks he manages to combine different influences and roots into creative mess and Jackin For Good is exactly that. Kicking off with an early 80s elements the track soon gives way under massive bass-synth and later evolving vocals. That 80s root is never lost, not even with the entry of a raw sax sequence stirring everything into a blend of a street colored bouncer. Rough, warm and effective!

Like hardly any other ambassador of modern Rhein Main House music, Christian Burkhardt has experienced a true rocket-like takeoff in the last year. Burkhardt's Cocoon debut EP "Stopover Goa" has, after one year, still a place of honour in many DJ's record cases.
3rd record from the Los Angeles based producer - Free digi download of Handbrakes' included
Cromie's quietly become one of LA's most vital house producers. Following a killer debut for NYC-based label Peach alongside fellow Eastsider Sage Caswell (with a remix by none other than Kyle MF Hall), he's been patiently honing his craft. His unique, amped-up vision of house music comes into full view with his Amadeus debut, At Interfaces. Cromie, real name Nikola Hlady, is liberal with the soulful samples. In his case, they're simply a flourish to his fully formed productions. Take the title track. In the breakdown, he introduces a beautiful saxophone solo and the occasional vocal, but they serve only compliment the massive bassline and percolating pads which form the backbone of the song. With Onda, Cromie's melodic gift is on display. A vibraphone lead takes us down a path to some beautiful, nostalgic chords. The B-side is all fascinating rhythms, for the DJs. Tariff' is pure peak-time business. For the closer, Clear To Me,' he's roped in James Del Barco, with whom he throws underground raves in LA. The B2, or 'inside cut,' mixes a hyperactive 2-step kick with a jacking snare and just the right amount of LA G-funk action, with a sampled diva sweetening the mix.

Argentine musician Daniel Melingo is an established artist in his own right in the Tango world, and his powerful and distinctive track 'Narigon' from 2005 is a classic, that got it's deserved vinyl release on Desolat Special Edition 002. This November Desolat is proud to unveil three fantastic official remixes of 'Narigon' from Radio Slave & Thomas Gandey, Ario and Guti. It all started a few years ago when Desolat discovered Ario's amazing unofficial remix of 'Narigon', which has been a constant feature in Loco Dice's DJ sets ever since. So great was the reaction to 'Narigon' that Desolat licensed the original and got Daniel Melingo to re-sing the acapella especially for their artists to work on. All three mixes offer wonderfully different perspectives. Radio Slave & Thomas Gandey's mix is an extended 15 minute hypnotic rhythmic masterclass, Ario stays close to the spirit of the original while Guti injects a twisted groove. With the original tango track featured as a digital exclusive this is a refreshingly brilliant package for those who want music rich with flair, colour and passion.
