H.O.S.H, aka Holger Behn, is something of a legend in the German house scene. An exceptional DJ, prolific producer and crucial part of Hamburg's hugely influential Diynamic crew, H.O.S.H. has helped shape the contemporary house landscape like few others. 'Ego', his latest 12' release on Poker Flat Recordings, demonstrates his absolute mastery of the dancefloor, a result of his vast experience behind the decks. 'Don Arp' kicks off this 12 - a mid-tempo banger that works as perfectly early-on in a set as it would at a peak-time strobe-n-smoke moment. The vibe is pure heads down funk - from the irresistible groove to the ecstatic cut up vocals - but it's the filthy, Funktion One-troubling bassline that fully detonates this basement bomb. Don Arp is going to tear up all sorts of dancefloors for a long time to come. The dub version of 'Don Arp' puts a new slant on the same growling groove, dispensing most of the vocals and letting the synths bubble and the clattering hats and snares dominate. Sharing the B side with the dub, comes 'Facebook'. Way more fun than the social network, H.O.S.H drops another heavy-grooving bodymover. Clocking in at 114bpm, the track hints at that slightly deranged part of the night - a pitched down vocal, a neurotic melody and enough grit and attitude to rock any flagging feet. Poker Flat's incredible run of recent releases goes on.

Mobilee Records is thrilled to welcome William Kouam Djoko on board in his fresh release of 'Satisfied". A decade in the making, Dutch live artist, DJ, and producer, William Kouam Djoko, has come a long way down the corridors of the Amsterdam club scene. It was his 2009 hit, 'Hard Loving' on ThirtyOneTwenty that was picked up by some of the biggest names in the business, subsequently, landing track spots on Watergate, Cocoon, and Balance Series compilations. 'Mystic Niger' rose a few heads in 2013 after airing on Anja Schneider's, 'Dance Under The Blue Moon' and ultimately found a spot under her year's top tracks. These days, Djoko is madly touring the festival circuits, taking the club grid by storm with his one-man live show, and currently hosting a bi-monthly party called IKWIL at Amsterdam's infamous Trouw. A two-sider jam packed with enough groove for a proper shakedown, the A1 highlights 'Satisfied' while the B-side brings it home with 'Like The Sun You See The Sound' and 'Mold Trip". The Summer of 2014 has proven a strong bond between Mobilee and Djoko as he played for the label's showcase at Sonar and appeared as a special guest during this summer's mobilee pool Ibiza party series. This amazing track comes backed with two remixes from two of the best producers in the worldwide scene: Paco Osuna and Slam. Having kick off 2014 in spectacular fashion with their Episode #5 collab, Superfiction label chiefs Italoboyz and Blind Minded join forces again to deliver the next instalment from their popular label series.

Lead track Paradise Adventure effuses a sense of mystery with its psychedelic guitar rhythmically tripping between beats and electronic blues licks heightening the intensity while never reaching boiling point. This adventure bubbles brilliantly.

Christian Burkhardt is drafted in on remix duty and takes us on a march with his strong groovin' bassline. The German allows the sweeping atmospherics to play their part and brings the stunning guitar riff to the fore, allowing us to get lost further in the rhythmic groove.

Champagne Kisses closes the release and the bassline rule again as Blind Minded fly solo, weaving a heavy slice of bottom-ended funk. The vocal playfully chases the key changes to create an excellent sing-a-long club cut that could easily have lead the release.

Englishman Englishman Saul has had a busy 12 months - not only did 2013 see him release his debut
album as Close, an avant guard dance-pop project that called upon high profile collaboraa
tors like Scuba and Appleblim and landed on !K7, but so too did he make his debut in the
live arena at clubs like London's influential fabric. Of course, in that time he has also continn
ued to steer both his labels down various underground house, bass and techno paths, nurr
turing new talent and old heads alike.
Says the man himself... "I wanted the mix to represent how I DJ in the sense that the majorr
ity of my sets are made up mainly of my own, or my label's, unreleased or forthcoming
music. Hopefully this gives me something unique as DJ, not just as I play tracks that no one
else has, but also because they are artists and tracks that I love enough to want to sign, so
they really represent what I love about electronic music.

'With this in mind, I approached all my nearest and dearest for some tailor made exclusive
tracks. The result is hopefully a mix that rekindles the thing I loved about listening to mixes
20 years ago - that unknown aspect where each new track is a surprise. In a time when all
music/track IDs and myriad mixes are accessible at the click of a button, I hope this makes
for something a little more interesting.'
Will Will Saul's DJ-Kicks represents a condensed version of one of his DJ sets - it touches on
all aspects from warm-up to headline to closing sets and highlights the taste-making label
boss's current musical fascinations in terms of the producers he is working with be they
new, unknown or more established.

Natural Rhythm celebrates its 13th release with a super vinyl only techy , darker , monsterish ep from the italian super producer Giuseppe Cennamo who is wellknown for his releases on : Desolat , 8 bit , Leftroom or Monique Musique . His fans ranged from Loco Dice, Marco Carola , Luciano to the greatest one Mr.Carl Cox himself and his music is an open door to all people are truly loyal to the underground sound.

Balance Music proudly presents Do Not Sleep: a new double-disc mix from UK hero, Darius Syrossian.

Darius Syrossian has risen up the ranks of the house/techno scene since first emerging on the global stage in the mid-noughties having earned his stripes working in record shops and playing the circuit across his native North of England for many years before. A run of releases on scene-leading labels like Area Remote, OFF Recordings, VIVa Music and Hot Creations firmly established him as one of the hottest properties around. A DJ Mag Best Of British Award followed, and the accolades and acclaim have kept on coming.

Fast-forward to 2016 and the Do Not Sleep label and party of which he is the resident and holds a weekly slot alongside Sundays at Space Ibiza: one of the world's most hallowed clubs in its final year before the much publicised closure at the end of this summer. Once best known for his muscular, pumping house and techno stylings, Syrossian deftly displays the full gamut of his musical ethos across this engrossing two-part mix. Created using his no-frills setup of 3 CDJs, 2 Technics 1210s and a Pioneer mixer, Do Not Sleep is split into two distinct halves. Disc 1-a live club recording showcasing his spontaneity in his natural environment-and Disc 2-a carefully constructed and prepared studio mix.

Disc 1 was recorded live at The Bow in Buenos Aires, and is a master class in slow-building energy. I wanted it to be a real mix-as in represent me as a DJ when I'm playing out. So I decided to make it a live recording. This was a big gamble as I had to do it in one take and there was no room at all for error.' Kicking off with jazzy cuts from Demarkus Lewis and Tim Deluxe, Syrossian's own Andranik picks things up with some subtle tribal energy before the nagging synths and heady vocals of Dennis Ferrer's The Red Room begin to weave some emotive tension into the proceedings. Heads-down grooving ensues via Apollonia and DJ T, the intensity and trippy undertones amassing bit by bit as Bas Ibellini's rolling Changes pushes us towards an acidic departure from Burnski and Laurent Garnier's gnarly 303 classic Crispy Bacon. Syrossian's What You Say continues the warped theme with its wonky pitch-bent synths, before funk-fuelled rhythms from Ian Pooley and Matt Tolfrey & Heartthrob enter the fray. An update of 808 State's classic Pacific State' and Deetron's thumping Photon deliver an anthemic crescendo.

Disc 2 delves into headier material with moodier and more atmospheric undertones. It was a bit more planned and progresses from the deeper end of music with a strong groove to music towards the end of the mix which has a bit more emotion.' Francesco Tristano's piano mastery kicks things off, with Smokin' Jo and Two Armadillos on hand to set the rhythm rolling before Syrossian helps us to a triple-helping of new productions. The squelching synths and tense strings of Give It To Me recall classic acid, while the intricate percolations of Unicorn Zone brings to mind vintage tech house and minimal funk and show a producer very much in his element. Layers of techno pressure build in the mix's machinistic mid-section, with Sleeper Thief pulling things back into a more stripped-back place. There are moody vocals from Kacob Korn & Break SL feat. Tabitha Xaiver's You And Me, and mystical tribal drama from Silicone Soul, leading into a gem of a Larry Heard classic that gives a sublimely hushed let-up from the feisty energy that came before it. Syrossian enlists the help of Bwana and KiNK to reach the mix's climax, both tracks achieving a real sense of power and grandeur without resorting to obvious tricks.

This is the sound of Darius Syrossian at his purest: a mean, lean DJ with an impressive arsenal of his own productions, flawless mixing and the experience needed to seamlessly weave together the DNA of house and techno music past, present and future. I wanted the mix to represent me as a DJ. My music is aimed at the dance floor and when I produce music or DJ, the main focus is about the energy and the emotion of the music and the intensity of it.'

2016 sees Label boss Aubrey release his first full ep on Solid Groove since 2003. A1-Time level bypass is a peak time 12 min long bass groove with alien noises throughout. B1 Rangoose, is a unreleased track originally made by Aubrey in 1998, heavy in nature for the purists. B2-Mf-104 is a 120bpm deep house track more suited for a 7am play, with lush echos from the rare Moogerfooger MF-104 delay limited to just over 500 units made.

As label bosses of Lucidflow and Klartraum themselves, Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch are afforded the luxury of dictating their music vision as they wish. This culminated in last year's Secret Moon, the second studio album of the pairing, focussing on their fluid dub laden house grooves. This year has the other major benefit of being label bosses come in to play, with the Secret Moon remix project seeing friends and inspirations drafted in to contribute.


Along with the immense digital package (which sees huge talent in the shape of Of Norway, Saytek, Trinity & Beyond, UGLH, Corrie Loi, G. Pal, Mirza-Zadeh, Weisses Licht, Ricciciomoto and The Messenger chipping in), Lucidflow are releasing vinyl only editions from the remix LP. Joining Alexi Delano, D. Diggler and David Alvarado from the first 12', are Ian Pooley, Weisses Licht and Vince Watson.


Diving Deep sees a downtempo deep dub interpretation from Weisses Licht, retaining the warmth of the original rather than choosing to be alien and gaseous. While Ian Pooley continues with the deep theme, his version is more direct, each dub twang on the beat driving the track on and acting as a firm foundation for the easy going keys.


Emotive electronic maestro Vince Watson is tasked with tackling Map Of Truth, turning in a balearic coastal groove, reminiscent of Chicane's seminal reworking of Furry Freaks. Finally, the original of the deep as you like Sell Your Soul is included; cunning looped vocal snippets and warm undulating textures provide the setting for an 80's influenced keyboard solo.


Part one of the wax edition has already seen huge support from major entities such as Laurent Garnier, Ivan Smagghe, Black Strobe, Dubfire, Seth Troxler, Luciano, Slam and Hernan Cattaneo. Part two seems certain to continue this trend, and whet the appetite for remaining parts of the package.

Simone Liberali has gone through a very successful road this past year and now is the time for his stop at Bad Barbie Records with an amazing single named Handshake. In this fantastic track we will hear how a simple groove goes building itself alongside a vocal line that complements perfectly the groove of the track. Slowly a fantastic rhythm comes from the low-end generated by a percussions group that perfectly blends with the bass line. The ambiences created by the synths and pads in the breaks, generates the needed tension to completely blown up any dance floor with this fantastic clubby track. Another newcomer is Andre Butano who paired up with Pool Muzik to remix this great single. They decided to work on a strong groove created by some bone shaking percussions but always keeping the original track soul very present as any great remix haves. Some other battery elements and very well placed arrangements completes a fabulous track creating a great party vibe. The last and not least of the remixes, comes also by another Chilean producer, Altamirano, who lean towards the tech house style. As his countrymen did, he also worked in a terrific way with the percussions line that are the main leading element of his remix, alongside the main vocal that suffers many unique arrangements during the whole track, but always drawing the attention and letting the powerful and continuous deep bass line do its thing.

Christopher Rau strikes back with another Smallville episode of dreams that money can buy. After a couple of diverse releases lately on Office, Dérive and Junk-Yard Collections, he proves his unique exposure to deeply diving with the machines again on Smallville. Christopher Rau's aural works feel like an outer world's embrace, an analog kiss from the beyond. Here it is the soundtrack made for our favorite places to escape reality: a magic club, a deepest dream. Don't wake up!

Last year's 'Precursors' EP from Eduardo De La Calle provided quite a curveball release for Cadenza Records, the Spanish DJ and producer who has recorded exclusively for his Analogue Solutions label in the past, turned out a warm and minimal release for Luciano's imprint, with all the flair and trademarks of Eduardo's studio prowess. Really though, Eduardo's approach to electronic music perfectly encapsulates the sound ethics of Cadenza; emotive, driving, long passages of deep rhythm, often focusing on the bare essentials of a track and enunciating these for an aural joyride. And so on his follow up, 'The Motorglider EP', Eduardo aims straight at the emotive jugular on opener 'Somewhere In Your Arms'. From its dusty opening bars, the track opens up with heart tugging melodies and pitch bending synths, the machines tweaking and turning whilst the micro grooves underpin a most wonderful track, oozing sheer class from a producer really finding his niche here. On the flip, 'Altar De Sacrificio' goes fathoms deep, coming across like some John Carpenter film score, the heavy arped bass-line creating a real dense mood, only to be broken by dramatic and melancholic stabs. 'Broken Bonus' wraps up a highly memorable release; filtering drums and blankets of lush pads and faint keys condensed into a simple 2:30 skit.

Oliver Ho's alias for the less obvious techno stompers has always been full of surprises.
