After numerous remixes, collabs and b2b sets, producers Hey Joe and Josia Loos are finally putting their collaborative efforts on wax. English for World of Shards, Scherbenwelt starts with resonating ambient tones leading into vast depths of an illusionary ambience, abruptly and unexpectedly obliterated by a rapid and thumping beat- It's a tough and unforgiving world the duo reveals through this track. Pulling the curtains even further back, Lohnarbeit, which translates to Wage Labour, reveals hard truths and makes no compromises. As the deep and unsettling voice declares, social existence comes at a price: labour. Work, and you'll exist. Tough words, appropriately reinterpreted through hard sounds. omentous techno, literally driven by the crack of a hip. Ryan Davis gracefully smoothes Scherbenwelt's sharp edges, re-concealing these hard truths behind curtains of smooth melody, thus letting us float back into a daze of daydreams, and illusion.

Strange happenings are going on down at Scrutton Street, EC1. With release after release cementing the names of those based or working out of the studio bunker, a desire for
pushing the boundaries of electronic music is primary with little concern for what's hip. So if anyone can Tim can and here with his newly birthed pseudonym comes Junior Fairplay.
With a one-sided release and remix to his name on Crimes Of The Future a glimpse has been offered of what's in store, but How Do You Like Me Now gives it straight. Pioneering and back to the British techno of early Black Dog, Reload, Stasis and of course,
the seminal "Selected Works" clearly inspires, but so too does one of those musical moments where genres clash, tear and stretch as something new is being born. It all starts with the uplifting House anthem of Classic Version, eschewing the oft-tasted horror stylings and aims direct for that 4am MDMA airfild rush, before the EP drops, locks and spins on it's axis, with 3 pure breaks cuts to overload the senses and say, now is the time!
A voyage to another side to the mythical lost chord via a moment in time where open filds, abandoned warehouses, the kick of 4/4 house, hip hop breaks and the dub of sound system
culture merged but for a short while. Not house, not rave or jungle. A proto sound born of blood, sweat and Rage.

It's done. K.O.
The stickiness kreeps out of the studio window. All inspiration is bundled. What stays is the trash on the carpet, the coffee cups and a last sunbeam, which is entering the scene on that late summer day. Two guys knocking with theirs feet on the floor. You see them smile. The first album of Kollektiv Ost is ready to enter the club.
We are listening to 12 tracks filled with emotions and with a wide view on electronic music. All songs are fun and straddle a few genres without sounding cheap. 'K.O.' is like a perfect soundtrack, starting with wild and deep claps in 'Shanti', switching to a melodic 'Slow Me Down', breaking the silence with a tech number like - Da Thong'. Everything is in a flow, the vocals are sparely but on the right point.
German based Sandro Schäufler and Marcel Schulz used the energy from two different worlds to bring on that album, which is simply fresh. One of them lives in the capital of Techno, in a crazy and loud world, where music is like a pulse rate - Berlin. Meanwhile Sandro stays in his native country with a view on lakes, trees, untouched nature and many moments of total silence. And that is, what you are hearing in songs like - Winter Game' or - Not Yet'. It is a mixture of influences, well balanced and gently brought to the peak.
First of all, let's clean up. Close the window, take your time. Go out, find your way into the club. Breath in deeply and then, come with us into a world full of synthetic lights and timeless moments. Have a look on the stage, where two guys knocking with theirs feet on the floor. You see them smile. 'K.O.'- It's done.

Come on, be honest. You also have been waiting for this. For more than seven years now, the 27-year-old Frankfurter Chris Tietjen stands, like hardly any other DJ, with his Cocoon mix compilations for the sound of this label. Apart from Sven Väth, maybe... So, it was really time for Tietjen to carve his music-aesthetical biases finally into vinyl, because for the value-oriented and highly dedicated DJ, it's a matter of honour to release his tracks in the traditional EP format only. The three tracks on the '341 EP' are not least a deep bow before three of the most important protagonists of the Rhein Main House scene. 'Activ", which was composed together with Cécille producer Markus Fix celebrates a deepness that is on the one hand accented by LFO bass lines and a jazzy-sketchy lightness, but on the other hand still pushes forward at a max. With Frank Heinrich aka Reboot, Tietjen had already cooperated in 2008 for the Cocoon Ibiza pre-season mix CD 'Disco Invaders". With its flute melody lines, their co-production 'Just Happens' presents itself even slightly more organic, before Tietjen sits down in front of the TV with none other than Ricardo Villalobos. All jokes aside, 'TV Watching' combines the suggestive effect of Villalobos' unmatched sense for broken rhythmic textures with Tietjen's very precisely thumping bass dub, and reminds in his hypnotic impact almost of Villalobos' masterpiece from 1999, '808 The Bassqueen". Then, the two release you to the beach with a wistful guitar - it's summer in the city!

It was a hot summer day, no clouds in the big blue sky, as I suddenly got up to return my friends basketball after not returning it for more then 10 years. I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I had to do it right now. As I walked down the street holding that ball I was flooded with memories. The party at Michael's house. Those crazy Technokids from upper Austria. The drinks, the drugs, the girls, the blurry parts... One memory was especially blurry, the one where I pick up that basketball. I was alone in my friends garage, the repetitive sound of filtered kickdrums coming from inside the house. I remember feeling like I am not really alone. Flashy lights. My memory seemed to be coming back more and more the closer I get now. The garage door was open. I got inside. I try to put the ball back in the cardboard box where I took it from as the garage door closes. Darkness. A voice whispers: "I smell your sound and I eat your colors"

Get Physical's first delivery for 2015 is, yet again, an EP that strays a bit off the beaten track. For this last installment, GPM290, Junge Junge has called upon Australian native Kyle Pearce to set some velvety vocals to a toned-down, bittersweet delight of a track. The ‚Beautiful Girl' EP opens with its namesake creation, a thumb piano-laden tune decorated by some seriously smoky singing just waiting to transport you far away. It's followed by a handful of distinct reworkings, by Audiofly who take on a dub remix and spins the song on its head to give it a new psychedelic identity. Meanwhile, Blond:ish throws it into darker terrain only to have the ‚Beautiful Girl' lifted up by Junge Junge once again thanks to a slightly different version that turns it into danceable AM epic by way of some wisely-placed kicks and claps.

Ambient techno exponent, A Sagittariun, fires off another full-length album transmission this April on his own Elastic Dreams label. 'Elasticity' is the Bristol based artist's second long player, and the follow up to his acclaimed 2013 debut, 'Dream Ritual'. Having last released a trio of singles in early 2015 (for Hypercolour, Secret Sundaze and Elastic Dreams), 'Elasticity' marks a return for A Sagittariun, and fans of the slippery and elastic sounds that hallmarked his debut album will not be disappointed. 'Dream Ritual' helped firmly establish A Sagittariun as an artist whose musical chops and integrity operate largely outside of the mainstream and a producer who chooses to put the music firmly center stage, whilst opting to remain relatively anonymous within the music scene. A Sagittariun explains; 'Elasticity was recorded over quite a short period, but the sketches and ideas have been germinating for some time, so sonically it's very coherent and consistent and moves in a way that I personally like albums to move in, with a narrative and flow that holds you right to the end. The recipe for Elasticity was always to be malleable and pliable with the sounds and tempos; for me it's all about the listening experience, and creating a landscape and a world within that one can really get deep into and explore, it's optimistic and progressive music for the head, heart and feet. I really do advise the listener to don headphones and take the trip with me".

As one half of the iconic house music duo H Foundation and a revered producer and DJ in his own right, Halo needs no introduction. His Surface imprint promises to deliver deep electronic music that retains a classic feel and its maiden release is just that. Marasco's 'Cloudy' is heavy set house music with an irresistible hypnotic quality. A rock steady bottom end drives the drum track as percussive elements and tribalesque vocals drop in and out of the mix. Highly functional dancefloor material. On remix duties the legendary DJ Sneak adds his trademark infectious energy to proceedings, inserting a funky basssline and jackin percussion to great effect. Halo's Surface remix showcases his production prowess with heavy processing on the vocals and percussion resulting in an organic rolling tech house work-out. Rounding off the EP Danilo Vigorito provides a brooding tech house take on 'Cloudy' that will cater for the more discerning floors. Surface begins as it means to go on.

The global phenomenon that is Records Store Day is celebrated in 2015 by No.19 Music with the release of a very special one sided vinyl single from the one and only DJ Qu...
Now in it's 7th year, Record Store Day has evolved into a global celebration of the independent record store and the much loved vinyl format, giving artists and labels the opportunity to do something special for their fans. And in that very spirit Jonny White's No.19 imprint has teamed up with New Jersey production heavyweight DJ QU for a very limited, one sided vinyl release that is sure to be instant hot property.
Dj Qu needs little introduction, having held court in the upper echelons of electronic music's counter culture for the last decade, dropping releases on Jus Ed's Underground Quality, Anthony Parasole's The Corner and Sascha Dive's Deep Vibes as well as his own highly respected Strength Music Recordings. As a DJ he has an enviable reputation across the globe, from his residency at New York's influential House Dance Conference to his regular guest spots at the likes of Fabric London, DC10 Ibiza or Panorama Bar Berlin.
The latest musical offering from DJ Qu comes in the shape of 'Cycling (I'll Wait)' a six and a half minute electronic jam that explores the outer reaches of analog excellence whilst keeping one eye squarely on the dance floor. Swirling psychedelic synths, disembodied vocals and an array of FX are married with a hypnotic rhythm section tipified by pulsing sawtooth bass notes and 808 fueled percussion. This is a truly unique piece of electronic music that denies classification and is sure to delight fans of house, techno and electronica alike.

Sneaky Music maintain the pressure that the label's debut release from Silk 86 built up, welcoming London pairing Ashworth & Kiwi into the fold with the Dawn EP. South London based Kiwi's music combines influences from disco, funk and house and has notable released on Needwant and Deepshit, whilst East Londoner Ashworth debuted on Balsaal, garnering support Dixon, DJ T and Josh Wink and recently teamed up with Citizen for Waze & Odyssey's label W&O Street Trax. Lead track 'UCX3' is a drawn-out, gradually swelling, half-euphoric-half-pumping roller, which the guys would be happy to admit was heavily influenced by Pachanga Boys' "Time." Demonstrating a more mellow side, "Zubr" has Ashworth showing off his prowess with the Wurlitzer whilst "Dusk" is arguably the wild card. Staying clear of the drum machines, this track paints a subtley epic picture with a reverb-drenched piano and folksy violin drones, all being driven forwards by an ominous pulsating Moog bass.

Mr Ks aka Jean-Pierre Baroni is one of the latest emerging talents from French electronic music, alongside a new generation of artists from France who are making a serious impact on the house and techno world. A student of classic Chicago and French house, Mr KS dishes up an exemplary 4-track EP on the ever-impressive Music Is Love label, complete with high-grade remixes from French compatriot Mr G and label boss Oli Furness.
The first of the originals on the EP is Take a trip,, a bumping bassline forms the fore of the track, flowing infectiously over siren sounds that grow in presence, cosmically off-set against the trippy male vocals. Built around an undulating bassline, Mr KS dishes up more head-nodding house goodness, carefully cultivating a strong sense of groove-heavy rhythm to his music.
Oli Furness brings home a stomping house remix of Take a Trip. Prolonged synth sequences flail fluidly beneath the tampered vocal of the track, building before a flourish of heavy-hitting pads that pack with a powerful punch. The synth chords weave back in momentarily, while lo-fi hi-hats and sporadic keyboard flourishes flesh out the track, coalescing over the trippy vocals until the resounding keypad breaks and surging bassline carry the track on it's course.
On the flip B1 see the 2nd of the original tracks on the ep. Groove on starts A heavy kick snare and intermittent wood block shots kick off proceedings, rattling against the moody and bumbling bassline, which simmers and carries the track organically through. Vocal hits play out, bouncing off shimmering keys pads, fluidly coalescing against the ticking percussion sequences. The end result is a stripped-back, hypnotic house opener that will go down well in any peak hours set.
French don Point G completes this strong 4 track ep, asserting his unique musicality on this record, reaffirming why he's still one of the most revered and influential names on the underground circuit. Quickening the tempo with his remix of .. meandering acid pads, ticking hi-hats and marching drums intersect the pace over sonic, oeuvre textures. Synths whirl in the background against the deeper, growing percussion rhythms, taking the atmospheric track to far out terrain; It's the sort of raw, inventive house and techno that has made Point G into the household name he is.
