For their first Record Store Day vinyl, Dusky's 17 Steps unveil a much requested club cut from the label bosses themselves in 'Buckets'. A dark, murky groover full of heaving basslines, swampy beats and cut-up soul vocals, 'Buckets' has been popping up in Dusky mixes for a couple of years, earning it cult status amongst their hardcore following and making it a perfect choice for a limited collectors vinyl. It comes backed with a twisted two-step remix from Swamp 81's Paleman.

One Records move into 2016 with what is set to be one of the biggest records of the year coming from elusive producer Gabriels. This one sided, one track bomb comes in the form of 'Amethyst' and sits in a whole league of its own. Originally from England but currently based in the midst of the L.A hills, masked by mysterious identity, Gabriels has been quietly forging a comprehensive studio set up and is finally ready to unveil his debut release. Setting his own standards sky high, 'Amethyst' grabs you from the off with it's floor shaking bass, immersive vocals and hypnotic energy that builds with subtle intensity and texture for a dramatic breakdown. This is the track you'll remember when you leave the club, an undeniable beast that is certain to do the rounds in 2016.

Macro has been the home for the albums of some of electronic music's most exciting live acts. So when you are a live band and you enter this context, you'd better enter with a bang. KUF do just this with their debut EP for the label. The three-piece outfit with keys, bass and drums cook up a sound that's as warm, cozy and exciting as it is utterly alien, all at the very same time. The rhythm section hints at the great history of dirty funk and r'n'b, but the grooves are firmly of today: dance-centered and broken up at the best possible joints. The bewildering thing about KUF is that it is a vocal-led group that has no singer on stage at all. All vocal elements are based on self-recorded samples which keyboard whizz kid Tom Schneider melds and bends and squeezes in real time. As if it was a regular thing to do. With no artificial synchronization in place, Valentin Link on bass and Hendrik Havekost on drums push the disembodied, highly abstract voices into an arena of hyperintegrated realtime magic. Odyssee' and Wildlife' are full-on introductions to the world of KUF, with Staring At The Sky' being a jam-type addition which the band is killing with in their live sets. The title track also comes with a special guest VIP remix for the techno clubs. But never forget this is a live band, and that's how anything you hear here has been developed. Seeing is believing.

After Melokind's debut vinyl "Melotronica EP" now follows his second release on Lochmann Records. This time the Cologne music producer has brought strong support from three well-known artists from the scene.
His new Vinyl "Miesepeter EP" therefore comes with the original title and three remixes of Bebetta, Raumakustik and Nico Pusch.

How to Kill's Shady P kicks off his new label with a collection of 4 focused and heavy tracks intended for the floor, uniquely styled in his vision of Detroit techno. Insert included. Pic sleeve.

Following on from a full-length album of grainy, synth-laden house on Mathematics, and equally unique EPs on Thug and LIES, Simoncino makes his debut on Creme Organization with five suitably esoteric house offerings. Two of the inclusions, Interval I and Interval II, are serene ambient pieces that showcase this Italians serious synth-scaping skills, whilst the other three are gorgeously romantic and nostalgic house tracks made for the more sensitive dancefloors out there. Tape 1 is the meanest, with a growling bassline and splashes of loose-limbed percussion, where Tape II is much more uplifting owing to the celestial patterns that twinkle above muggy and muddled Chicago drums. Tape III is downbeat and melancholic thanks to the subdued, rubbery bassline, but more golden pads light up the thing with plenty of very real, cautiously optimistic emotions. This is house music to take you to another world entirely, and it's a fine place to be.

Das letzte Jahr hielt ein gerüttelt Maß an Tour-Streß für BLOND:ISH bereit: zweifelsohne eine ungemein bereichernde Erfahrung, doch sicherlich kein idealer Hintergrund für zurückgezogene Produktions-Sessions. Um den Weg zurück zu ihrem Studio-Flow zu finden, entschieden sich unsere Protagonistinnen für eine Auszeit und reisten nach Tulum, Mexiko - eine der letzten von den Mayas begründeten Siedlungen, wurde das Idyll nun zum persönlichen Paradies für zwei ausgeflippte "Gringas", die sich vor Ort ein kleines Projektstudio einrichteten und für Außenaufnahmen zu regelmäßigen Expeditionen in die Umgebung aufbrachen. After the success of the Henry Wu & Chaos in the CBD releases, Rhythm Section International present their 9th offering, from Mancunian newcomer 'Contours'.
'Technician' is a percussion led rhythmic exploration, spanning 6 tracks which take in down-tempo grooves to up-beat workouts, all held together by a smooth, lucid sonic palette and arresting, unorthodox live percussive elements.
Already an accomplished drummer and percussionist, Contours manages to combine driving rhythm, lush textures and hypnotic melodies to create a sound that feels very much at home as part of the Rhythm Section imprint, while simultaneously pushing it forward into new, undiscovered territory. One for the Heads, one for the Dancers, one for the warm up, one for the afterparty.

Rising/Falling marks multi faceted artist Daze Maxim aka Markus Manowki's second full length LP since 2000's Same Place The Bot Got Smashed. The album's title refers to the breathing exercises of meditation; something that by chance Daze begun at the same time as the LP's conception. This additional balance and clarity allowed the album to develop harmoniously, and paved the way for completion. There is also a nod to reflexivity as although this discipline provided necessary solace, it also demanded greater engagement. The overall aesthetic is unquestionably true to the minimal framework Daze has meticulously crafted over the past 15 years. A playground of intermittent tempo and hybrid organic electronica, harmony builds whilst dissonance prevails. There is maturity and guts in the selection and delivery of each part's piece in the puzzle, and a true viral beauty as it gains momentum. What is immediately striking about the album in full is its brooding space and progression. From ambient tones and warped classic synths, to rigorous live instrumentation, the sonic palette enriches as the odyssey continues. Much akin to a camera lens drifting in and out of focus, Daze toys with periodic collapse and elongated movements, but always pulls the listener back through percussive punctuation. The collaborations featured on the record occurred naturally, however the sessions played out differently. Sloth's unique trumpet work on the opener is a entirely improvised workout without specific key or time signatures. In contrast Yonatan, a classically trained jazz musician from Tel Aviv now residing in NYC, added bowed and fingered double bass to an already arranged work.

Local Talk release number 66 moves in deeper territories with a duo that needs no further introduction, Greg Dowling, Shane Johnson aka Fish Go Deep.These two fine gents have been releasing music for more than two decades. Both Greg & Shane played an integral part in the emergence of House music in Cork City between the years of 1988 and 2001 as their well renowned 'Sweat' night at Sir Henrys helped to attract a host of talent, such as Kerri Chandler, Laurent Garnier, DJ Deep, Glenn Underground, Derrick May just to name a few.
It's a big, big honour to have them on aboard for this debut on Local Talk. First track, Off Script, takes us straight back to the days of Prescription. The driving kick and bassline, warm pads and a hypnotic melody line that crescendos throughout the track keeping you hooked from start to finish.
On the flip, Northern Reach, follows on the same theme. It hits deep, the strings adds that extra bit of drama and again showing the duo's skill in creating perfect atmospheric and timeless deep house. You wouldn't be surprised to hear Dixon drop this in a DJ set.

Ian Pooley's his new techno label Montage follows up the inaugural release from his Silvershower alias by handing a label debut to Hans Berg, the Swedish producer with previous releases for Kant and known for collaborations with Johanna Knutsson. For his first Montage outing Berg delivers two original tracks showing both sides of his production talent. A-side 'Field' employs an elastic bassline that recalls some of the more dancefloor-focused workings of UK producers such as Four Tet and Joy Orbison, while 'Polar' sees the Swede head in a more stargazing direction, its trance-like melodies cloaking a sturdy backbone. Pooley's Silvershower alias rounds out the 12 with a darker take on the A cut, pinning the original's bassline to its heavy kick, ride and claps for a powerful techno roller.

Dank zweier von der Kritik gefeierter genresprengender Alben konnten sich Junior Boys mit der für sie charakteristischen Mischung aus zeitlosem Songwriting und modern produzierter Tanzmusik an vorderster Front zeitgenössischer elektronischer Popacts etablieren. Junior Boys liefern mit Body Language Six eine ausdrucksvolle, sehr persönliche Reise durch die Lieblingsstücke ihrer Plattensammlung, in dem Klassiker und aktuelle Hits in einen harmonischen Dialog treten. Der Mix startet mit einem unverkennbar balearischen Strang, würdigt über der Intimität illustrer befreundeter Künstler wie Stereo Image und Kelley Polar auch Kraft und Charme von zielgeradem aktuellem Techno, ohne sogleich die exquisite Verbindung zu rhythmischem Avant-Pop zu scheuen. Ihren ureigenen Sound markieren Junior Boys schließlich mit dem Body-Language-Exklusivtrack "No Kinda Man". Body Language Six spiegelt damit eindrucksvoll die Einflüsse und vielseitigen Interessen der Band wider und gipfelt durch die ungeheure Versiertheit fraglos in einem überzeugenden, genussvollen Hörerlebnis.

"Play It Say It is the name given to Seth Troxler's most 'no frills' label. The aim to outlet tried and tested bombs built strictly for the dancefloor and so far it's given us 12's from the likes of Leonardo Gonnelli, Steve Lawler, Butch and Clarian. Now - Seth readies the next installment on the label: 'The Acid' EP which comes as a sampler including tracks from returning artist The Mekanism as well as Ataxia and Giacomo & Michelangelo .
The Mekanism kicks things off with 'Lazy Night'. Having last appeared on Play It Say It in 2015 with his 'Acid Love' EP - he makes a vibrant return and drives a circling acid line through panned percussive flutters ahead of a manic breakdown guaranteed to send the floor into a frenzy.
The Detroit based Connaisseur, Thoughtless and Leftroom affiliates Ataxia then follow up with 'Afternoon Acid' - an urgent electro-tinged track packed with armoured drums and growling bass tones.
Giacomo & Michelangelo then rolls out 'Acid Tree' - a burning acid groove rife with more extended breakdowns and tight drum shuffles that make a fine addition to the record and cap off another certified coup for Play It Say It".

Modern Cathedrals was founded in Detroit in 2015. While the stylistic attributes of the label could be described as avant-garde, drone-influenced techno, the core of the label lies much deeper than dance music. While interpretations are as varied as listeners, the label's founder Altstadt Echo regards Modern Cathedrals as a geographically contextualized exploration of the struggle to find meaning in a world that is fundamentally indifferent to this basic human desire.

In older European cities that were once dominated by religious thought, cathedrals loom over the skyline and serve as a reminder of the ideas that used to give life meaning; ideas that many of us have implicitly left behind. Detroit, as a struggling post-industrial city, is involved in a constant dialogue between desperate hope and gradual decay. Excluding pockets of downtown commercialization, it is the scattered shells of empty manufacturing facilities that elicit the feeling that this city also placed its own worth in an idea that turned out to be a false promise. In this way, they serve as the city's true cathedrals.
The artists releasing on Modern Cathedrals utilize experimental techno as a medium to explore the creation of meaning without reliance on the dogmatic pursuit of temporary ideals. The result is functional-but-challenging dance music crafted without the need for a saccharine reliance on tried-and-true techno tropes or the fabricated themes of peace and love that plagued rave music. Instead, it attempts to create an authentic interpretation of the imperfect human experience that we all live, both in Detroit and beyond.

Esther Duijn has been going strong lately since she made the jump to Berlin. A consistent output of tracks, a filled dj schedule and new found scene inspiration was just what the doctor prescribed.
Together with usual suspect, Steady Douglas as "Duijn & Douglas" & new found collective with Marc Campati & Steady Douglas called "Linnenhood", she delivered two tracks that pretty much are signature dishes: Duijn & Douglas' "Valse Lucht" bounces back and forth between the baselines, probably giving many sync buttons a run for their money. Everything in this track twists and turns, yet it remains catchy and playable like no other.
Linnenhood's "Step Write" is slightly 'calmer', a perfect early-hours-track and a 9 minute trip through the darker parts of the wood. We would say it 'gets the party started' but our therapist told us that sounds too disco.
Anyway, both tracks have been mastered by Dimitri Andreas, who recently spent half the defence budget of Nigeria on a brand new sound studio, so you can be sure that the vinyls will sound perfectly.

Rituale is a brand new label for 2016 setting off with a beautiful structured EP called (Bury Me Where I Fall) by the talented producer known as G76. This EP is made up with 2 original track's lasting up to a good 16 minuets each. A1 - Youth Riot & B1 - Four For Four. The heart and soul of this EP is represented by the rioting youth struggling for a better future in a society riddled with corruption and selfishness.

Three formidable names from the electronic deep/techno scene combine on this sumptuous new EP for the burgeoning Jesus Was Black imprint. In various combinations, Maris, Egal 3 and Philipp Ort have previously collaborated on labels like KdMusic, Cadenza, WrongState, Affin, Flappers, Baccara, EDEC.. Their first joint effort in some time yields some superb results.

The second offering from Freerotation brings the vinyl debut of Irish born, London resident Monoak. Monoak's distinctive style of gritty, melodic techno displays an artist engrossed in his work, wanting to take us on a unique journey into uncharted territory. Melody and percussion interchange amongst a framework of deep, broken, pounding kicks, and sizzling highs. The Resolute ep is brimming with tunes which stay firmly in your head, and exude a timeless quality, a rare thing these days from a new producer taking his first steps.

Famed for sets melding house, techno and bass, Klose One is one of London's most respected underground DJs, having earned himself the unofficial title of "the DJ's favourite DJ," the Swamp81 affiliated producer is stepping out with One One One, a new project and label in collaboration with classically trained German composer and producer Claus Fuss.

Soma is pleased to welcome back label heads Slam as they unleash 2 brand new tracks under the EP,ASTROLABE. In the past two decades, Slam have defined techno in Scotland, cultivated many artists of through Soma and remixed everyone from Josh Wink & Paul Ritch to Daft Punk & Underworld. The legendary UK duo, comprising of Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle, have travelled far and wide, leaving scorch marks on dance-floors across the planet, touring Europe, Australia, the USA, South America and Asia. They hold residencies at 3 of the UK's best clubs (Pressure & Sub Club in their home town of Glasgow and Fabric in London). Slam are currently on top of their game at the moment as they work toward the release of their new album, due in 2014 and this latest EP from the prolific Scottish duo shows they intend to keep up their furious momentum.

After the success of their debut Polina EP (as played by Dixon, Tale of Us, Agoria et al), Agents of Time return to Correspondant with their most powerful work to date. (

The Emperor EP sees their sound growing to fill the worlds biggest dance floors, but without losing the signature emotional and cerebral edge which gives their music a notably personal and intimate feel. (

Title track,

Emperor , has as anthemic a feel as its regal title would suggest. Ploughing a grand and emotional furrow, but with a driving techno Aesthetic.

Metamorfosi

is a deeper affair, which builds to a tense, spectral conclusion that is simultaneously dramatic and, dare we say it, heart wrenching. (

Hydra is the most minimal track on the EP, yet still manages to be at once dubbed out and theatrical, with skittering and shuffling percussion throughout.

Nazgul continues the tradition of left field house as championed by Correspondant, and as exemplified by label artist Andre Brattan with his track Tromer Og Bass, but with an added horror soundtrack flair which only the Italians can truly bring.

Our third release has nothing else than Berlin taste. Label boss Daniel Boon returns to Neuhain with his new powerful stormer ''Bazinga'' while Berlin's eternal diamonds Pierre Deutschmann & Thomas Schumacher are on the remix duties, completing a package that must not be missed from any quality playlist.
