New York, early 90's, the haydays of the New York and Jersey clubhouse! With labels such as NuGroove, Nervous, Freeze, Strictly Rhythm, Henry Street Music taking all the spot light, there is Jovonn working on a small but sensational catalogue of music that somehow gets overshadowed by the popular releases on the mentioned labels. The honest productions, jazzy melodies and playful vocals (rooted in gospel) were taking things into a more musical, more spiritual way, lacking gimmicks or dispensable samples. For the real diggers, the true lovers of House music Jovonn always was a name to watch, a producer of some of their favorite NY house tracks, tracks that have a raw edge combined with a sincere human touch and pure underground house vibes. People such as Rex resident Dj Deep was a huge fan, and also collaborated on couple later productions with Jovonn. Slowly he started getting recognition from europe which resulted in a handfull of records on European labels such as Distance, Coco Soul and Estereo. Now after almost 25 years since his first release the man's small discography on his own Goldtone label and Emotive records stand out with his unique musical personality. More then 20 years after their original release dates these tunes are still very relevant and stand for many things we love about house music! We are happy to offer this selection of his hard to find early works remastered by Alden Tyrell.

With prudent timing comes yet another artful release from Greece's Nous contingent, this time courtesy of Manchester's Moodcut who muses succinctly on the invisible overlap of Chicago and Detroit's aural heritages.
The Tame Cats EP delves deep into the industrial overtures of each with the melancholy sparseness of sound that characterizes the brutally beautiful aspects of man-machine-music.

We've been a fan of Motor City Drum Ensemble since the brooding and eerie "Escape To Nowhere" in 2007 - a track that sounded like someone had listened to "French Kiss" on acid and then tried to recreate what they heard. So when we started re-issuing Romanthony's classics with fresh remixes, MCDE's Danilo Plessow was always someone we wanted to on the project. It has taken 2 years to organise this mix and now it is finally here it doesn't disappoint. Taking on "Trust", most people would head straight for the vocal but Plessow instead eschews that idea for a warm, low slung dub mix reminiscent of Muzique Tropique and early Glasgow Underground releases by Studio Blue. As a more dj-friendly alternative he also delivered a completely instrumental dub mix.

Welcome to the Soul estate! Two guys from the southwest of Germany built up their own musical experimental ground. The product of their research is the stellar debut EP 'Welcome...". Each of the four tracks on the EP takes the listener to another direction while being part of an artistic master plan. Heating up your body and warming up soul - this record amalgamates just the right elements of the early 90s sound with the 2010's freshness, four bombs for dancefloor and mind fully loaded with ass-shaking grooves and soul feeding chords! The white 'future' side by Suaave is starting with a deep and airy chord-pad, slowly building up and defying gravity until the 909 kicks in, along with the chords turning to fire. This is the moment it takes you back from the sky to the floor - the dancefloor. 'Glass' is the laid back A2-track. Slow, relaxed and funky grooves are highlighted by a fluffy synth-solo. Daytime-smasher and music for your wandering mind! Roman Mühlschlegel delivers the black 'past' side and brings back in mind the good old days of early 90s Chicago house: 'Belladonna' is a highly energetic and floor filling killer tune. Explosive house grooves, soulful and deep chords and a hypnotic acid line make this one a perfect prime time smasher. With 'Cool Down World' Roman leads the dive deep down into the ocean, floating through unknown worlds into a blue, wide open sky over a familiar place - concluding your journey and arriving in the sky above your Soul Estate, were it all started. Sparse and daring sonic experimentations, as the name suggests, on this fresh imprint by the upstream collective that is John Swing, EMG and Battista. The first two have now established their patterns of work via the Livejam and Relative stables, while the third has been busy pushing his sound through the younger and ever-promising Uaudio label. A common obsession with machines and spontaneity has led them to this latest collaborative effort; two extended, wide-eyed jams - one per side of the plate - which shift from moments of stability to sudden bursts of chaos. The A-side represents the former; a thick layer of chords, gritty low-ends and icy percussion slither out of the whirlpool only to become locked into a moody, cut-throat groove. The flip cuts the formalities and dives head first into a deluge of saturated hardware fuzz, showcasing the trio's more abstract personalities as conjurers of fine noise-funk.

During the early 90's and the heady times of dance music many recordings - mixes etc were either lost or did not surface. Recently unearthed from a time capsule are three unreleased tracks from the master creator of Techno Juan Atkins - all Juan's trade marks are here from the driving Oh La la to the of the wall Electric Jungle and the minimal Impulse... Three tracks that translated the restless musical developments from that era into musical outings from Juan Atkins as we havent heard from him before, capturing the ''zeitgeist'' and fusing outside influences with his trademark Atkins sound. Very interesting document from the archives of Black Market records!

Next up from NDV, the world is in a tailspin, the days of rags to riches story's are gone, but that doesn't mean we can't have a feast. A beggars banquet if you like. Mastered to tape hot and pressed to vinyl.

The record is about the warmth, the dirt and the dynamics - the essence of House music. Kirill Tipo opens the EP, a man who has had recent success on labels like 4Lux and Soul Notes puts his hat into the ring with 'Call the Police', raw and uncompromising power house music. Next up the mysterious Crue takes the stage, the masked producer behind the trio of coloured 10" inch's that had everyone's heads spinning.

He took some hunting down but when Beggars want their banquet, they always get their chef. True to form he strips the Dead Rose track to bits for his remix. Banger... ...nothing more to say.

On the flip side you have melodic synth class with 'Three Buttons' by Andy Ash, a track brimming with melody and groove whilst the production has an air and a warmth in its detail that really pulls you in.

Dead Rose Music Company delivers a super solid B side raver, a track with a bassline that shakes you physically even if you don't feel like dancing. Hands up!

Deeper is another lush groove, building up what sounds like experienced house music from Mike. The creative use of the vocal samples work wonderfully together with the 90's organ & classic piano gives the track a real drive and purpose.
