Continuing their decade long partnership, The Revenge and Sub Club's Harri emerge from their Glasgow studio under their Burnt Island Casuals guise to present 'Linger Longer EP'

If you've visited Subculture; one of the finest internationally-renowned underground clubbing havens then you're likely already to have absorbed Harri's studious approach to production. Here the EP's crisp and drum programming works to prove an enthusiastic and endearing backdrop to some of the most flexible synth work to grace a 4/4 groove.

Fresh from completion of 6th Borough Project's sophomore album, The Revenge's sterling association with quality productions continues; expect reassuringly slow-mo dancefloor memories, as guest Esa Williams provides additional percussion and unified analogue power on Theme From Easy Aces and the heady, block laided Belshill Rendevouz.

Their production partnership goes on through Grouse House and Clown Prosecution Service; reproducing the house sounds of a elder era with painstaking, granular attention to detail and sneaky modernizing touches. The latest offering serves as a befitting prelude to The Revenge's production work for forthcoming and inaugural release on Sub Club's new label.

If any label can claim ownership of a sound, the pair have honed their obsession and honesty into four lengthy cuts nailing Roar Groove's thematic mission statement.

Not much is known to us about Belly Dance, or the producer behind this imprint, what we do know is it's from the Manchester area of the UK. The record itself is intially a vocally, slow beat, number with big kicks and heavy synths proceeding male and female vocals that could have been lifted straight out of the Trash Indie sound that domintated the early 2000's. The vocals are not credited to anyone so its not clear if this is the work of more than 1 person or not but the male vocals sound in some way familiar, almost like a voice from the past. On the flip side things hit a slightly different, funk, Nu-Disco kind of vibe in the form of Headman on the remix. We can only assume if a producer of Headman's esteem is putting his mark on this record then this is not going to be the last we see from Belly or this intirguing, yet slightly odd, imprint Belly Dance.

Minneapolis collective Food Pyramid delivers a kosmische oddisey,a ten minute meltdown that feels both lysergic and transcendental. Gavin Russom of the Crystal Ark/ LCD fame shines with his visionary a daring remix of the title track. Limited edition of 200 hand silkscreened and numbered copies.

The Danish DJ and MUSIC FOR DREAMS' boss picks 3 of his fave cuts from last year deejaying in Ibiza at Café Mambo and the Bastardo parties: HESS IS MORE "CREATION" , a catchy and laidback dance tune that was massive in Ibiza, remixed by KENNETH BAGER himself, the funky instrumental groover "TEMPO LIBRE" by TUCCINELLI (AKA Italian producer TUCCILLO) and "WHAT'S MY NAME" by KENNETH BAGER EXPERIENCE and actress SOFIE GRABOL ("THE KILLING"). The record has been building steadily over the last couple of months played by PHIL MISON, featured on Testpressing radio show, and by JON SA TRINXA and DJ PIPPI.

After a brief hiatus we are pleased to announce Mangled returns in 2014 with a new distribution deal through Juno. First up is some Ray Mang versions of a song from Italian singer Mari (Marina Conti). Maris album Gentle Beauty produced together with singer songwriter Mozez (of Zero 7 fame) was released back in 2012 on Numen Records. Ray Mang took a shine to the second single Free taking the Vocals and piano from the original and re-crafting it into a stellar piece of modern euphoric disco. Presented here on heavyweight 180g 12" vinyl in three versions for your listening pleasure with digital to follow. From its first play during Rays debut appearance at London party institution Low Life back in 2012 this track has been causing goose bumps. Support comes from Bill Brewster, Daniel Wang, Horse Meat Disco, The Idjut Boys, Phil Mison, Una Bombers, Paul Murphy, Luke Solomon, Pete Herbert, Test Pressing and many more.

From the tropics comes Whiskey Disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from

latent disco perpetrators. It's loosely connected to Sleazy McQueen and his assorted cohorts.
Whiskey Disco #28 Lost In The Crowd by Olivier Boogie showcases the Dutch Master's skills with the knife. He's created a 4 color palette that will leave crowds besot with boogie fever.

A true sound innovator, Ferrari used analogue electronics to create the sound textures for his new tracks and blended them with sophisticated beats. Inspired by soul, techno and hip hop, he has developed a unique sound with a futuristic touch. Zurich-based DJ Kalabrese and singer/songwriter Sarah Palin with her exceptional voice signed on as guest musicians. High Heels Breaker brings plenty of electronics and fat beats to his live sets and gets the crowds dancing until the heels break.

Wanna know more about High Heels Breaker High Heels Breaker's (aka Domenico Ferrari) focus is concentrated on electronic aspects in music. He also works as composer for movie scores, visual artists and contemporary dance companies and teaches composition and producing at Zurich University of Arts. Besides High Heels Breaker Ferrari is also producing for the electronic duo Ferrari & Tomasi. He worked with Jamie Lidell, Kalabrese, swiss rappers Big Zis and Skor among others and performed at Sonar Barcelona with the newyorcan spoken word poet Latasha N. Diggs and star drummer Jojo Mayer. High Heels Breaker performs his live sets "solo" or as "live band" including drums, keys, electronics and visuals.

About the person behind High Heels Breaker: Domenico Ferrari grew up as the son of Italian immigrants in Zurich, where his parents ran a restaurant. You not only ate well there, but politics were also discussed. The restaurant developed into a meeting place of Italian immigrants. Zurich's Social Democrats also enjoy savoring a pizza at times.

The more than 100-year history of this institution has attracted renowned politicians and ministers. Lenin ate at the Cooperativo Restaurant during his years in Zurich, and former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder also had a meal there.This political environment molded the young Ferrari, even if he says today that he is not politically active, but instead has found his ideology in music. The political involvement of his environment resulted in his father and Ferrari himself as a child being put under surveillance and a more than 100-page file put together about them during the Swiss Secret Files Scandal (Fichenskandal) in the late 80s when more than 100,000 citizens were spied upon by Swiss authorities. This was all long before the NSA/Snowden affair.

Following his music studies, Ferrari lived in Zurich, New York and Rome. He won an award providing him with support to work for one year from Zurich, is a member of the Istituto Svizzero Roma, and has received a composition contract from Pro Helvetia. He became a father at a relatively young age and has been involved moving between club music and composition jobs since then, between party and family life. The successful musician has succeeded in reconciling his life's different aspects and to emerge strengthened from an initially challenging situation. This and a certain composure are reflected in the album "High Heels Braker". In it, Ferrari demonstrates that he is still one of the trend-setting artists in contemporary electronic music.

Taste Of Honey is proud to present the true sound of the early 80': Change was an Italian-American post-disco group formed in Bologna, Italy in 1979 by businessman and executive producer Jacques Fred Petrus (1949-1986), Mauro Malavasi and Davide Romani. They were heavily influenced by legendary disco band Chic. In this release we can listen the original "Got To Get Up" (1983) plus a very clubby remix by Re-Tide (Taste Of Honey's Crew). The old sound and the new sound in one vinyl: born in 1983, evolved in 2014!

This, the first Essex Rascals 12" follows suit from the UK collectives' podcast series and crate digging 'way back Wednesday' radio shows exploring disco, dub, soul, funk and beyond.

British label InnerCity Records made a flying start to life last year, with their V/A releases going down a treat with a slew of the scene's prime movers and shakers. For their latest release, the Manchester based label does much the same again, as they compound their auspicious start to life courtesy of a four-tracker that's dripping in refined house-music textures.

Easing us in is the sounds of accomplished sounding newcomer Arun Varone, a man who makes sophisticated music that belies his relatively short stint in the game. ''Inside Of Me'' is a bassline-driven monster, the type of which intoxicates the listener thanks to its hypnotic sheen and its rich, spliced vocal contribution. Full of drama and suspense, it's a scrupulously produced number which will help the night slide at a frenetic pace.

Ibiza entrepreneur Jason Bye then reminds us of his own production nous on ''Ghetto Break'', a zippy number that's underpinned by a meticulous bassline and a series of sweltering, popping beats. It's sultry stuff that'll go down a storm in both Berlin and the Balearics.

The second half of the EP kicks off with David Moran's ''Keyboard Gangster'', an analogue jam that hits all the right notes thanks to its spellbinding snares and its delicately arranged percussion especially. The elongated synths play their part too, and Moran's is a name you're sure to hear much more of over the next few months. Last but not least is ''Freak'' from label owners the Horsey Brothers. Full of twinkling lo-fi sounds and a playful sample which you can't help but raise a smile to, it closes out the package with some grace, which the house army is sure to lap up.

PULP presents the label's sophomore release called 'Love's Cosmos' by US House veteran DaRand Land. After delivering a top-notch remix for the first effort (PULP01), DaRand agreed to come up with an entire EP for the label's forthcoming output. The result is well orchastrated deephouse sounds with that signature DaRand Land vibe. The opening track 'The Long Night' and the follow up 'Soothe Me' both have that classic American house vibe to it while the EP takes a more percussive route on 'Tribute To Ron And Anthony'. DaRand continues to show his versatility on the downtempo track 'Cling To A Cloud' which has that dreamy touch to it. 'Jose Lau' helps out on the B side with his mix of 'Sunshine To Peaches'. All and all PULP is determined to set a very classic standard in modern House.

Producer Mark E hails from the West Midlands, an area of the UK that was at the heart of the industrial revolution and was also hit hardest by the decline of UK industry in the 1970s, and again by the economic crisis of our own time. It's an area with a distinct sound and atmosphere, one that manifests in the music of artists as diverse as Black Sabbath and The Specials, and one that plays into many of the ideas behind Mark E's new record Product of Industry.

The album's title is a subtle nod to the producer's past and heritage. He explains, "The name lies in the manufacturing past of the area I grew up, and the manufacturing past of my family. It references how the decline of industry in the Midlands UK changed the landscape physically and socially — I'm now a music producer and DJ, and this is totally different to my grandparents who were truck drivers and sheet metal workers. The title discusses how things have changed, and it's also about how I came to be in this position, due to the current global financial situation. I lost my job due to it, which led to me trying out music — and here I am, a product of industry, both currently and historically."

The return of the Black Ops sub label from the SLEAZYBEATS crew...

It's been a good while since the last Black Ops missive - that Max Graef & Andy Hart 12" that sold out in a heartbeat and is now changing hands for seriously silly money on the used circuit - but good things come to those who wait.

The Sleazy Beats chaps welcome Saine to the fold, a Finnish producer with a bunch of great releases on the likes of Odd Socks and Musthave Records under his belt, who is equally at home dabbling with instrumental Hip Hop or churning out raw MPC-style beatdown grooves.

It's the latter that's on offer on this here Business Hours EP.

Tenfold on the A is a driving stomper with sharp synth stabs and a spaced out vocal that is bound to creep out the Ket heads that are still standing up in the wee hours.

Flip over for Worker, a chunky mid-tempo workout that's deep as, and comes with a lovely vocal sample to keep things in balance, while hints of acid weave in and out of the track.

It's closing track Scrabble that takes things back to the disco with its merry strings and wonky square synth lines, nicely rounding off the package.

As always, this is limited to 500 copies, no repress, no digital. Not now, not ever.

SCENES FROM OUR CLASSIC FUTURE IS THE REALIZATION OF THREE SONGS AND TWO PROJECTS THAT CAME TOGETHER AS ONE. AS YOUNG ASPIRING MUSICIANS SINCE THE EARLY AGE OF 12, GREG PAULUS AND JOHN CAMP PRACTICED PLAYING JAZZ STANDARDS INTO THE WEE SMALL HOURS OF THE MORNING TOGETHER. EVENTUALLY THE TWO WOULD FIND THEMSELVES BOTH IN NEW YORK UNDER NEW AND MORE ELECTRONIC CIRCUMSTANCES. DEEPLY INDEBTED TO THE MASTERY OF HERBIE HANCOCK, PAULUS AND CAMP WOULD RECONNECT, THIS TIME WITH SYNTHESIZERS, AND CONTINUE ON THEIR MUSICAL JOURNEY TOGETHER.

ON ONE PARTICULAR DAY, CAMP PLAYED PAULUS A TRACK TITLED "REMO". PAULUS INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE TRACK BUT BOTH FELT IT NEEDED SOMETHING MORE... PAULUS INSISTED ON LAYING DOWN VOCALS AND WITHIN 15 MINUTES HAD THE LYRICS WRITTEN OUT AND SOON AFTER ADDED TRUMPET .

AROUND THE SAME TIME PAULUS WAS REVISITING "SURF SONG", A TRACK HE AND BRIAN DERDIARIAN HAD BEEN WORKING ON SPORADICALLY FOR SOME TIME. THE TWO WOULD RECORD LONG ONE-TAKE JAMS ON TRUMPET, JUNO 106, AND GUITAR, FEEDING THEM ALL THRU LOOPING AND DELAY PEDALS. FROM THESE SESSIONS THEY WOULD FIND A STRIDE AND IN ADDITION TO "SURF SONG", RECORD "FIRE IN THE SKY". SIMILAR TO "REMO", "FIRE IN THE SKY" WOULD COME TOGETHER IN A LIGHTNING BOLT SORT OF WAY. WHEN ADDING THE FINAL TOUCHES, CAMP WAS AROUND AND WAS ENLISTED TO ADD PIANO WHICH WOULD BRING THE WHOLE EP TOGETHER.

AROUND THIS TIME, PAULUS BEGAN TO SEE THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THESE THREE TRACKS. EACH, IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER EMBODIED THE FEELING OF WHEN THE BEACH MEETS THE OCEAN. REMO" WAS DISTINCTLY REMINISCENT OF THEIR TIMES SPENT ON ROCKAWAY BEACH: THE TRIPS OUT IN THE CAR OR BUS, DRINKING AND SMOKING ON THE SHORE AND SLOWLY MAKING THEIR WAY BACK INTO THE BROOKLYN NIGHT TO GET CRAZY. "FIRE IN THE SKY" AND "SURF SONG" HAD A DISTINCT WEST COAST VIBE, MOST LIKELY DUE TO THE FACT THAT DERDIARIAN, BEING FROM CALIFORNIA, COULD NOT HELP BUT BRING THAT WEST COAST SWAGGER TO THE MUSIC. AT THE END OF THE DAY, THE IDEA OF HAVING THEIR GOOD FRIEND TANNER ROSS ADD HIS SIGNATURE TOUCH TO THE PROJECT WAS A NE- CESSITY. ROSS WOULD TAKE "REMO" AND MAKE IT HIS OWN HAZY GEM. WITH THAT, PAULUS WOULD END UP WITH FOUR SONGS THAT REMINDED HIM OF THAT SPECIAL PLACE WHERE THE SAND HITS THE OCEAN.

AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT PAULUS WOULD MANAGE TO TAKE TWO PICTURES THAT PERFECTLY ENCAPSU- LATED HIS FEELINGS FOR THESE SONGS. ONE, A BEAUTIFUL DAY ON THE ROCKAWAYS AND THE OTHER, A LUCKY RIDE IN HIS BUDDY'S CORVETTE STINGRAY UP THE PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY TO MALIBU.

SCENES FROM 0 UR CLASSIC FUTURE IS A COLLECTION OF SONGS THAT PAULUS, CAMP, AND DERDIAR- IAN LOVE AND HAVE LABORED OVER FOR A LONG TIME. THEY HOPE YOU ENJOY THEM AS MUCH AS THEY DO.

4 track release w/3originals that touch on deep house, Italo disco & cosmic sounds while San Franscio house-sleaze afficionado Anthony Mansfield's remix provides a dubby dose of dance floor funk.

Latest IIB release features the North Easts version of CSN Last Waltz. A double header, The first track Just Hold On is a collaboration between Last Waltz & Smoove. Heartfelt vocals over a pastoral rolling chugger, deep bassline folky guitar strumming making this a favourite at IIB HQ. On the remix Ess O Ess raise the tempo a little bring out the electric guitars and increasing the chug to almost Krautrock levels. On the Flip side Last waltz give us Tribute. A deep atmospheric acid affair. Mellow electric keys and percussion lull you into a false sense of security before the heavy kick and acid bassline drop with dark cello notes. Machete Savane take on the remix. Replacing acid for guitar and adding some machine groove this slowly builds and builds into a top bubbler.

For their first outing in 2014, cult vinyl-only imprint A&R Edits return with another double header of tried-and-tested reworks that have set the floor alight for edits maestro Greg Wilson in recent months.

For instalment number five, Lee 'Peza' Perry comes to the fore, opening with a track that picks up the momentum of the current return to popular consciousness of the Northern Soul scene. A lesser known, pre-Rodgers & Edwards Sister Sledge is the subject of his affections, with 'Love Don't Go Through No Changes On Me', a track that didn't chart in the UK but was championed by the legendary UK selector Colin Curtis at the Blackpool Mecca.

Unearthed once more, Peza's upfront dance floor treatment will no doubt bring this heartfelt gem to a new generation of dancers.

On the flip is a skilful extension of a 1979 classic by Gina X Performance, the electro pioneers who fused Euro-disco synth pop with an arthouse performance sensibility and sexually provocative imagery.

'C'est La Vie Ma Cherie' showcases Gina Kikoine's much-imitated detached, narrative vocal style, set above an irresistible groove, lovingly given the contemporary dance floor touch by Peza.

Debut Album from Tel Aviv artists Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik

Red Axes is Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik, two young men who have always lived in Tel-Aviv and have been making music together since the noughties. Ballad of the Ice is their debut album. Their artistic travels have taken them from the rock scene to the dancefloors, and to creating an album. More than a summary, this LP is an invitation to discover a singular musical identity: a ballad of the ice, a song as light as love and cold as a tunnel, springy as a dance step and deep as nostalgia.

In the past, dutchman TJ Kong usually appeared together with his production partner in crime Nuno Dos Santos. They already released several Black Label 12inches and the album "After Dark, My Sweet" in 2010. Now, TJ Kong is back with his very own "Sweet Sweet Lovin'", which features the sensitive soulful vocals of Ovasoul7. This exceptional singer lent his voice already to the works of Deetron, Motorcitysoul, DJ Spinna and Slope. In 2013, TJ Kong, in coop with Eric De Man, dropped the "Luid EP" on Kirk Degiorgio's Applied Rhythmic Technology label (ART) and the "Where The Wild Ales Are Pt.1" maxi on Jamie Anderson's Artform imprint, followed by a second one this year.
A propos Wild Ales: TJ Kong recently was busy with setting up his own brewpub in Eindhoven.

Well known Berlin resident producer Filippo Moscatello aka DJ Naughty is in the biz since the mid 90ies and released two albums, one on Gigolo in 2001, and one on Moodmusic in 2009, and a lots of 12"s on Gigolo, Eskimo Recordings, MoodMusic, SafeTheBeauty etc...

Dima Studitsky is a russian fellow and one of Moscow's underground club scene honchos, who runs some of the most legendary club nights in Moscow ("The Cult", "Propaganda", "Shanti" etc.) He conviced the Compost crew big time with his marveillous remix for Rainer Trueby's "Welcome To Our World" last year (Black Label #92), which landed in the record cases of King Britt, Peter Kruder, Charles Webster, Fabrice Lig, Tedd Patterson, André Lodemann and more... He also released remixes on King Street and on Sonarkollektiv, a highly acclaimed rework for Jazzanova's "I Can See" feat. Ben Westbeech.
