House Vinyl New Releases - News

Limited 12" released (600 copies worldwide)

From the tropics comes Whiskey Disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent
disco perpetrators. It's loosely connected to Sleazy McQueen and his assorted cohorts.
Whiskey Disco #17 is an all-out return to the glory of filtered disco house! It's packed with disco breaks and cut ups, some recognizable
and some obscured through time. Pairing the editing fire of Eddie C and Alkalino on the A side and the groove-based filtering of Cole
Medina and Osmose on the B-side. Make no mistake, each of these will fit perfectly into either house or disco sets and can bridge the
gap betwixt the twain.

LATIN SOUL BROTHAS drop this limited white label 12" featuring 2 WAR edits from the "YOUNGBLOOD" soundtrack from 1978. CORDELL SWEETDADDY JOHNSON delivers on the A-side with a fresh edit of "FLYIN MACHINE (THE CHASE)". On the flip "YOUNGBLOOD (LIVIN IN THE STREETS)" gets the LSB treatment.

2 the second part of the in-demand ' Cero' by Galarude ( DJ Kent and homies from Sly Moongose and Tokyo No. 1 Soulset ) that had been a secret weapon of a selected few DJ glitterati since it's original Japan-only release in 2004 delievers another set of knockout mixes: Prins Thomas flatens the originals tribal elements with hard whiping beats and a forceful steamroller of a bassline yet keeps the headmessing ingredients intact with all those swirling, spinning soundparts that one can also enjoy in higher dosage with the 'ambient miks' for daytripping on your homecouch. Tuff City Kids aka Lauer and Gerd Janson corrborate how they persistently tweaked themselves to the a-list of remixing teams with two expertly constructed, infectiously swinging house mixes that keep the acid purity level high and carry the promise of a neverending summer of love.

Big time stompin' and ultra rattling disco. Sex Tags Ufo with trademark disco cuts by DJ Fett Burger and DJ Grillo Wiener. Trademark disco for the heavy buglin' percussion mixes.

The Candle Family are a musical duo brought together by the sound of love, and also, a love of sound. Sharing their mutual admiration for Isaac Hayes, Barry White, Marvin Gaye and a great swathe of obscure disco records, The Candles not only intermingled musically, but also romantically. In a Spiritual Marriage™ that has lasted the past 15 years, Burt and Shirley are now proudly giving birth not to a physical child, but to music.. and what glorious music this is. Their first release on the new Unforgettable Music label is certain to strike a 'chord' and hit all the right 'notes' with tastemakers and musicologists who have an affinity for a period in time where records were made not only to dance to, but to make love to. Thusly, you are cordially invited to experience The Candle Family's debut offering entitled 'Love Theme from Two Hearts' backed with the simmering sex explosion of 'Sixty Nine Beats Per Minute'.

The inherent romanticism of Italo Disco has always lent the genre a more esoteric edge, and with this Cyber Dance release, Antoni Maiovvi seems intent on creating a narrative that cannot be contained by a simple dance track. This is not to say that both "Impulse" and "Requiem for Clarence Boddiker" are not suited to club play. They both pound down with that staccato urgency, and equally rise and fall through moments of intensity and serenity. It's just that, at 12 and 11 minutes respectively, both sides of this record have ample room in which to tell a more involved story.

Magic Feet introduce three new artists on their first label sampler, as well as a remix from label owner Craig Bratley.

The tracks cover various genres, taking their inspiration from House, Italo, New Beat and Disco.
First up is Paresse, an alias of Swedish producer Ivan Bergren. 'The Night Before You Came' is a hypnotic, evolving slice of future disco. Craig Bratley's remix shows Craig indulging in his obsession with the world of analogue synths and sees the track taking in a deeper and darker direction.
Craig has also had a hand in editing 'Lost Era' by Kepier on the flipside, a track with a direct lineage to the Belgian New Beat sound.
To round off the EP, we have Soul Tension, an alias of Tony Beardsley, who also produces as Dark Strands. 'Suburban Life' is a superb take on the slo-mo Techno sound.

the second part of the in-demand " Cero" by Galarude ( DJ Kent and homies from Sly Moongose and Tokyo No. 1 Soulset ) that had been a secret weapon of a selected few DJ glitterati since it's original Japan-only release in 2004 delievers another set of knockout mixes: Prins Thomas flatens the originals tribal elements with hard whiping beats and a forceful steamroller of a bassline yet keeps the headmessing ingredients intact with all those swirling, spinning soundparts that one can also enjoy in higher dosage with the "ambient miks" for daytripping on your homecouch. Lumberjacks In Hell score a real coup here in releasing the "Chante vs James" edit from Chicago based DJ Hugo H; a long term weapon of Rahaan, it's been embraced ahead of release by the likes of Soul Clap and few could deny the instant appeal of it. Deftly cutting up some prime fonk from James Brown and the accapella from a late 90s Chante Moore's slow jam, it's the epitome of bumping Chi Town house. Hutchinson gets a further chance to flex his timeless Chicago style on 2 more tracks that apply the same equation of drum heavy rhythms with infectious vocal hooks and slick melodic turns. "Moments of Dance" is particularly beguiling in its execution.

After their glorious debut on 2DIY4 Pool are back to release their second EP! Again it's a four tracker consisting of two original Pool-tracks and two remixes by Aeroplane and Stimming. The 'Flex EP' demonstrates the great progress of the Hamburg-based Indieband Pool, again showcasing their ability to create a full, particolored and highly unique sound with guitar, bass, drums and vocals. All in all it's an unbelievably smooth and promising release asking for more to follow! The first original, 'Flex", is an epic and atmospheric bomb, working with intense build-ups, emotive vocals and sick guitar- and bass-lines. The special feeling and the continuous changes of groove and timing immediately make you move and of course flex your body! The internationally famous and beloved Disco-producer Vito de Luca a.k.a. Aeroplane put hands on 'Flex' and did an incredibly sexy remix. His remix is 50 BPM slower than the original and makes perfect use of the guitars and vocals getting them into his very own and unique style. The other original by Pool, 'Botox", is a crazily tight and powerful groover satisfying with it's straight drums and wonderful vocal- and guitar- harmonies. The epic structure and impulsive atmosphere of 'Botox' create sleek tension and immediately make you go with it. Groove-expert Stimming did a supersonic remix of 'Botox"! The get-together of his drums, bassline and the guitars evolve a deep and mellow temper. Especially when the vocal comes in the sparkling and hypnotic feeling forces you to leave things behind and dance!

Here is another seminal Chicago disco record straight from the vault of Past Due records - Jerome Derradji Still Music's beloved Disco division.

The story behind this 70's disco hit from Lonnie Givens and Pick Of The Litter is more than impressive. Originally released on 7' by Mason Records around 77/78, 'Runnin' To A Disco' quickly became one of the first Chicago Disco classic. The track was an immediate hit and logically attracted the attention of Curtis Mayfield who tried to sign it (and Lonnie Givens) to Curtom Records. Unfortunately, the owner of Mason records refused, thinking this 7' will break the Midwest borders to become a national hit. That didn't happen and left Lonnie Givens frustrated and wondering about his ne xt move.

Lonnie Givens then decided to move on, literally, to Michigan where he quickly became a staple bassist for the legendary Westbound label. His collaborations where numerous and he was featured as a session musician on many releases by the legendary Detroit Emeralds.

In 1982, Lonnie was still bitter about 'Runnin' To A Disco' flopping so he decided to redo the track with some help from Westbound who created the label AIP exclusively for him. Lonnie then re-released his boogie hit, this time with vocals and a new title: 'The Heat Is On'. It was co- produced by James Mitchell Jr. and Marvin Willis of the Detroit Emeralds at the Westbound Studios.

For the first time in disco history, you can get all the remastered versions of this superb and rare boogie record on one 12'. This is Chicago and Detroit at its finest, courtesy of Past Due Records

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back big times for the new year with another huge release from one of the most successful producer duos in the funky breaks scene: Breakbeat Junkie & DJP! Each and every cut on this release is mixed to perfection for dancefloor devastation. Breakbeat Junkie & DJP has teamed up on the title cut Represent the Style and each dropping a solo tune and finally Breakbeat Junkie has joined forces with a true legend in the scene Slim aka Good Groove.
Breakbeat Junkie & DJP has been around since the very beginning of the nu-funk/ghetto funk era with releases on Good Groove records as well as Big M, Manmade and Baffin Beat Brigade Records and even made a huge contribution with their classic part 3 of Freak Hop right here on BBP Recordings. They are still on top of the game with big releases coming up on ever-growing Ghetto Funk label.
By always staying true to the oldskool funk and disco vibes Breakbeat Junkie & DJP has a bulletproof receipt of creating party rocking jams. This bangin' 4-track EP is yet another example of just that. Get ready to get you boogie on, cuz Breakbeat Junkie and DJP is in the house!

Volume Six of the esteemed Sccucci Manucci operation sees the Tom Selleck of Disco flecked house rack up the air miles with an international cast of talent contributing. Contemporary disco connoisseurs should be fully aware of Gredits, the Swedish producer with previous on the Basic Fingers label; "Doing It Deep" does it right, seductively teasing out a killer looped up disco groove that gets more flirtatious with every listen. German dwelling Greek producer Elef takes us into classicist house terrain with the infectious bump and shuffle of "Lazy Liz", whilst a long promised Sccucci weapon from The Candy Dealers (aka Christian Malloni & Jay West finally sees release on the flip. Glaswegian Illyus returns for a second bite of the Manucci cherry with the late night dubby house goodness of "Movin House".

Part two of the Idjut Boys mixes on File Under Disco sees the legendary UK DJ and production duo drop a tab of acid in JKriv & The Disco Machine's orange juice.
With effects units set to stun and a course set for Acid Disco space...the Idjuts work classic acid house elements into these mixes to produce an effect as strong as any dodgy microdot.
And with the Disco Machine's authentic disco vocals riding and floating on top of this hybrid blend the result is a truly wanged out and rather devastating piece of dance floor magic. Pure Idjut style!
Both cuts can be filed under acid disco and are made for heads.

'Italians are f**king mental whilst Glaswegians dole out exotic levels of passionate mayhem. So please meet Marco Bernardi. A hybrid of these two energies and one of the most boisterous sonic sorcerers to forge epic, lysergic towers of sound since Ron Hardy blew people's skulls off two decades ago in The Warehouse.'
Picked up by the ever-nurturing and discerning ears of Futureboogie Recordings, Marco Bernardi is a live act with a solid line in cuts of epic splendour. With previous releases on labels such as Clone, Royal Oak and Crème Organization, this time Marco delivers the 'Motorways EP' - sweet electronic melodies fused with the raw analogue sounds of bumping Chicago, it's set to propel the producer into 2013 with a bang.
A-side 'Motorways' is a gem of a party starter - sounding like a classic smashed up and put together in the future with extra swagger, the infectious melody and quirky organ keys will hook the crowd while the kick drives and the melodic textures and acid synth lines build up with unbridled, bubbling joy.
On the flip, 'Space Coral' is a sound wall of futuristic bleeps and cosmic pastures with old school bassline undertones sounding like a tribute to Derrick Carter's Sound Patrol Orchestra while 'Cosmic Aroma' is a heady mix of warm floating pads and lively electronic keys.

Femminielli's new cosmic opera 'Double Invitation' is a glacial glimpse into the master's mind. With the perfect mix of dancefloor
grooves & celestial soundscapes, these nocturnal expeditions will be an easy escape into your dreams. Filled with sensual &
mysterious Spanish poetry that lead the listener through a maze of sonic delights. Textured tapestries drape the decor and set the
mood for the on-going voyage into the void. Prohibited love affairs of the soul. Let it burn...

After a series of cassette releases only, Femminielli is releasing his first full album on desire. 6 tracks of pure cosmic disco beats
and psychedelic ambiences.

VOLUME 3 of this VERY limited and mysterious one-off series, emanating, as you might expect, from the Big Apple. Put together by a legendary NY record store owner from a personal stash of edits constructed for back in the day club play, which still sound super fresh and effective today.
These will sell out on presale, so numbers ASAP please !

Sydney's Death Strobe bring us a killer little release from Norwegian five piece HubbaBubbaKlubb, unique modern Disco business, with toasty warm synths and a stoned summer aura

Mopedbart is best mixed with a hammock, cold beer and a sunset as it jams along with mellow pads, hand claps and the story of a dude cruising around town on his scooter living it easy.
Lille Sote Svanse picks up the pace for a popping disco cut which simmers away with its bass-heavy groove before giving way to a stunning Rick Wright-inspired lead break journey into the stratosphere.

Both sides ooze colour and transport anybody within earshot straight to a toasty world of deck chairs, disco dancing and good times...

JD Records is a new underground house label based in Barcelona and operated by Jimi Disko from Subwax Bcn. This very first release is produced by Lay-Far, a very talented Moscow-based dj / producer, author of 'In-Beat-Ween Sessions' podcast. His sound is a vivid fusion of dance rhythms, deeply rooted in jazz, funk and soul. His music got signed by such labels as Development Music, 4Lux, Tokyo Dawn Records, Amplified, Soul Imago just to name a few and getting support from the likes of of Move D, Jimpster, Craig Smith, Recloose, Kev Beadle, Joey Negro, Alex Barck, Gerd, Rainer Truby, Red Rack'em, Josh Wink, Lars Behrenroth, Simbad, etc. The EP is just what it says on the tin: a collection of one of the earliest tracks from Lay-Far, specially reworked for the release (Re-Mystery II), one of his latest tracks - a manifestation of personal freedom (Liberation Song), and a great remix from the detroit house legend Terrence Parker himself - all in all a great combination, bluring the boundaries in-between house, jazz, funk and brazilian music.

After a first album now considered as a classic in its musical genre ("Cocotte", 2007), a new era started last June for Teenage Bad Girl with the release of "Tonton Funk", their first EP after 3 years of silence during which their sound and influences have evolved. They now continue their trail proposing us a new EP : « Keep Up With You » !

Guilty pleasure, we all have them. This release updates and fiddles with some serious guilty pleasures that all but the youngest of music fans will recognise. HOD Stash is a series of treasures from a label that shall remain nameless but you'll no doubt recognise.Satin Jackets is the first to revive a track that needs no introduction. 'Dee Baby' removes all the elements that date this classic track and replace them with a different calmer soul. This track is exclusive to the vinyl and will be your only chance to get your hands on it.The last track on the A side see's 'Dee Baby' get the dub treatment and Satin Jackets has created a key laden, familiar, behemoth of nostalgia for you to indulge on.On the flip side we have a homage to another 90's classic from a producer that's literally exploded over the course of this year 'Finnebassen'. Remember Me's seductive bassline and lingering synth's create a similar low slung mood to the original. Finally seeing us out we have EJECA's musical marmite 'Natal' which plucks a very familiar sample indeed as he gives pulls off the impossible and crafts a trance guilty pleasure into an addictive, patient house groover peppered with a typically ravey vocal.

New Yorkers JKriv & The Disco Machine will be releasing a seriously good extended player on File Under Disco in early 2013.
To celebrate the imprint have asked legendary UK disco heads the Idjut Boys and new school master of the refix Duff Disco to knock out a couple of belting reworks of one of the main tracks from the EP Make It Hot.
The result is a heavily dubbed out, Peanut Butter style disco biscuit a la Idjut.
While on the flip Duff Disco goes with a twist of deep and dirty basement House. Both can be filed under disco.

Brooklyn synth/post punk outfit brings this EP to the LECTRIC SANDS label. "COLORS" brings a raw guitar, deep synth bass, & a sassy dadaist vocal. "CITIES OF THE PLAIN" is a more minimal cut with a chiming rhythm that's followed by "THE REPORTER IS A PLANT". ZOOVOX takes side B with a remix!

Darkness and light. What better way for electronic troubadour, Ali Renault, to introduce his new label than with an EP reflecting the polar opposites of his inspirations. Named after a Welsh valley in which he once found himself lost amongst medieval ruins in the dank forestation below a shimmering snow-capped mountain, Vivod was conceived to give voice to the lesser heard mood-orientated side of the disco sound. Lead track, "Infinity Eyes", is a seven and a half minute slow-haunter, coming from a neighbouring corner of Renault's psyche to the one that gave birth to his sinister Cestrian alter ego. If the A-side reflects the dark heart of the valley, "Norven", is the glistening peak of the mountain, where the crisp atmosphere gets thin, and the beauty, like blood, rushes to your head. Dizzying stuff!

Ahead of the release of their next full-length album, Crimea X (DJ Rocca and Jukka Rverberi) offers up a singles package that has already been doing damage across the world. The EP includes three tracks from the forthcoming Another album, namely 'Essential', 'I Feel Russian' and 'Yev', all of which, like the album, were produced with Norwegian magician Bjorn Torske. The latter of these has been the biggest hit so far, with the tastemaker likes of Andrew Weatherall and Sean
Johnson, Prins ThomasEwan Pearson, Tim Sweeney and Ivan Smagghe all playing it on dancefloors and radio shows in recent weeks. The package also includes two remixes by sonic sorcerer Richard Norris in his Time and Space Machine guise. It's easy to see why said names have championed 'Yev' - it's a veritable disco feast with myriad contrasting textures from the real sounding drums to the huge smeared synths via the funky guitar riffs buried deep down inside. Machines
gurgle and dazzle with a cosmic energy from start to finish whilst 'Essential' is a more experimental affair. Here diving bass notes contrast with soaring synths, machines blurt and gurgle and the breathy tones of Crimea X's singer imbue the track with an acute sense of loss as chattery claps and arpeggiated lines race across the face of it all. The same track as remixed by Time and Space Machine is a different beast - the synths are thick and rasping and claps echo around the
arrangement like pinballs. ..

phreek plus one¥s "la spirale" was a big hit at Vagabundos in Ibiza all of last summer and from from
Panorama Bar to Brazil..., especially in it¥s uber huge justin vandervolgen remix! we could finally secure
this rthymic masterpiece for you and so you can finally take it to the streets now. massivertip!
