House Vinyl New Releases - News

Two new remixes taken from the album Worse For Wear.

With upcoming releases on top class labels like American Standard, Sleazybeats and Ene Tokyo, Edinburgh's Lord of the Isles ventures forth with the debut 12" on his own limited edition imprint Little Strong Recordings.

The collaboration of talented young producers and skilled heroes of the scene provides a
colorful picture of the current sound development of the label in 2011. Between tempo
throttled, Acid infected dancefloorkillers of L Kubic and old school groove monsters of
Tokra Thaan in a Remix of James Flavour up to grinding minimal beats with hypnoticflashing
sounds of Trockensaft, to Chameleon tracks from Swen Weber, which welcomes
you with a Dancehall impregnated Beat in a 4/4 beat corset, which is ironed in the
course of its construction and stay suddenly like a stomping and snorting steam train in
the ear canal.
And if then Hardy Hard mates early nineties rave influences with house vocals and Flat-
Fuzz comes with a ghostly-kicking sampletrack around the corner which is just as Hip
Hop as Electro, it is clear, that these pieces are absolute killers of their guild, from the
first to the last track, and each of them is conspicuous by its own distinctive aesthetic.
Originality is all...

Superb new edit of BLONDIE's classic bell-rocking groove !

It all started as a fun bootleg project and now finally it ends up with an official release on MB Disco

Munich neo disco duo Columbus with their second single. "Hubble" is in the
tradition of the classic Munich disco sound with sexy analogue synth
arrangements and a few hints to Supermax (r.i.p.). Ajello, In Flagranti and
Pyjamas are delivering the remixes.

PICTURE 7"! Luke Million is a fellow out of Adelaide, Australia and is the hectic keys player and synth wizard from The Swiss. He often starts his morning by bench pressing his Yamaha CP-70 and drinking 3 or 4 shakes of reel to reel tape.

The Main Stem debut with 'Contortion Danse', their first single for Lipservice. It oozes New Wave swag, with James Flanagan's vocals setting the scene. Clash-esque guitar chops and cowbell pings are the order of the day with a hefty bassline and drum workout that keep the groove bumping.
The Rhythm Odyssey Warehouse Dub takes the track down a dirty groove, dubbing things up and adding some 808 Rhythms and tribal bass, coming on like a undiscovered Nu Groove release.
The Main Stem drop their own remix, keeping it smooth and hypnotic with echoes of The Beloved.
Birmingham's slo-mo house / beatdown king Mark-E provides an epic mix of 'Yes Sacrifice', taking us on a spine tingling electronica journey.

Pink Stallone has been labeled everything from house to disco to Garage R&B, but this concept project can only truly be defined by unique personality. A collaboration between fresh-faced New Jersey producer, Daniele Barbarosa, and seasoned Newark vocalist Joey Washington, Pink Stallone tracks are often marked by a concoction of classic songwriting sensibility with curious yet tasteful new instrumental landscapes. Dancing in Time, the followup to their self-released sleazoid funk anthem The Six, wanders off into a dreamy-house domain, marked especially by additional production efforts from Vietcong Disco's Eddie Mars

S.A.S return with an absolute killer EP for Foot & Mouth. Four rib rattling, bone shaking, teeth chartering, brain-mashing monster edits. The A Side features their colossal take on 'House Nation' and the superb re-edit of 'Satisfied'. Then there's the flip, featuring 'Wanting You' and 'You Gotta Think'!! Already being smashed from people as diverse as Radio Slave, Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones, this release is the biggest yet!

Classic 1983 boogie from Easy Street Records, this mix dispenses of the lead vocal, and has featured on Metro Area's Fabric mix CD...

Stepping to the hard left, Richard Sen + Cazbee's edits are always a touch different from the rest of the zillion edits around. Influenced by the newave and disco not disco sound of clubs like The Music Box these 3 new cuts have a disctinctly dark and naughty flavour. Listen and judge for yourself....

Mixed Blood Cuts has been supported from DJs including: DJ Harvey, Andrew Weatherall, Optimo, Padded Cell, Idjut Boys, Cosmo Vitelli, Mark Moore, Pete Herbert, Lovefingers, Golf Channel and more.

We met Fred Ventura in 2006 over emails sent to Italians Do It Better headquarters. He was one of the first people from Europe to start writing the label prior to After Dark's release. It took us a few months to realize that this was Fred Ventura, the cult Italo legend from Milan. Like a true gentleman, he had never bothered to mention it. Since the early 1980's Fred Ventura has released numerous singles in Europe & toured the world extensively as a solo artist. Last year, Johnny was in Bologna on tour with Desire & Fred came out to the show to drink Champagne & bring us some copies of the reissued tapes of Fred's early Post Punk group State Of Art. The lightbulb lit up & we asked him if he had any home recordings of his solo work.

Months later, he sent us 83 tracks of cassette recordings between 1982 & 1987. They had been sitting upstairs in a dusty box at his parents house in Italy for the last 25 years. These tracks have only been heard by a handful of his closest friends. We were completely floored & honored! Finding a beautiful treasure completely untouched & preserved is so rare. The songs are raw & honest written by a romantic with a love for an anthemic chorus & a drum machine running through his veins.

Think early minimal Depeche Mode with an Italian heart. OrNew Order covering Madonna produced Moroder. Yes, it's that good. Here we have the first official Italians Do It Better release of these songs on a 4 song 12" ep. This vinyl only release is a teaser for the "Don't Give Up" 18 track lp out in a couple of months. So in the meantime, slip on those Gucci loafers, rev up the Alfa Romeo and head down to the discotheque because life is too short...

Nom de plume of diverse Dutch man DJ Overdose. 2nd release w/dark dense electro pop, sinister & playful. 6 trks w/beatiful artwork.

Eric Duncan (of RUB 'N TUG fame)
Drops release number four in his Keep It Cheap series - this time inviting the ever on-point Justin Vandervolgen (TBD) to take care of B Side duties
Head and shoulders above the glut of edits out there, these dig much deeper & are purpose built for sweaty club use, and not to tantalize bedroom bloggers

As with the cult COMBI series, we expect these to sell out in a matter of days - 300 copies ONLY
Despite the name, the price is a little more than we'd usually like to charge, but if it wasn't for us, you'd be buying these as Japanese imports !!

You might not be aware of this artist or LP... but that's all about to change. This is the holy grail of cosmic disco... that disco kids don't even know yet. Released in 1978 on little known Inter Global Records, this LP is one of the most in demand, expensive & undiscovered albums of this genre. Just check discogs!

Not much is known about the group, where their from or what they went on to do, but that doesn't stop every track on this album being a bonafide killer. Arguably the album's highlight is 'Jamaica Electric', but unlike most cosmic disco LP's where there is just one main track, every outing on this LP is unique and of the highest quality.

Unique fusion of Funky grooves and Tropical Disco vibes

The Project Club make a welcome and serioulsy classy return to the label
El Mar Y La Luna is a warm tribal dub groove that conjures up beachside sunrises or perhaps daytime raving on the beach.
Trademark Project Club guitars and top notch production.

Cinnaman (Colors Amsterdam) "RE: Braille Remix - Really nice tune!!! will def play this!"

"Super nice positive vibrations - Can certainly see a nice dancefloor moment here!" - Soul Clap

Very special tracks by Alex Jones. Somehow weird and out of space but also very functional and pushing.

As tight and as punchy as you expect - this are two addictive slabs of fast paced house with a distinctly 90s US influence with a shout to Minister Farrakhan on vocal duties....

Following Vincenzo's incredible 'Wherever I Lay My Head' longplayer, we've got more delights in store with this single including remixes from Jimpster and the retro-tastic Tuff City Kids. 'Seduction' is the outcome of Vincenzo teaming up with Brazilian artist Diogo Accioly of Talking Props.

Fresh Up specialise in strictly limited edition 45rpm singles showcasing the finest in new-old-sounding library funk, Moog disco and vocoder boogie sounds.

PART 2 OF SAMPLER TAKEN FROM THE SUPERB REEKIN'STRUCTIONS CD.

Lazydisco is a project of Fred Oliveira of Rockets fame. After getting playlisted by names like Alan Braxe, Duck Sauce, A-Trak, Treasure Fingers, Aeroplane or In Flagranti, Fred decided it was time to explore something a little different from his regular house antics. So in 2010, Lazydisco was born.

Hi Tech Jazz is definitely the order of the day with 'Warriors Return', 'People of The World' climaxes with crowds effects and 'Night Ridin' closes the EP with a hypnotising flow. All in all a great return from Two Armadillos duo.

From the tropics comes Whiskey Disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. It's loosely connected to Sleazy McQueen and his assorted cohorts.

The latest release from the Fizzy Duck camp comes with the inclusion of a fantastic new artist from France; Florian Muller.
