Following their first release, which featured four brand new artists, the guys over at Disconnected are back with DSCNTD 002. This time it's a full EP from Chocky, which features a remix from Brooklyn's Krts. The DSCNTD releases resist the modern addiction to genre pigeon-holing, instead they focus on pushing a variety of interesting and emotive sounds.
This five track EP captures the rich and varied musical inspirations of the mysterious man simply know as Chocky. First up is 'Down with Idris', a beautifully, blissed-out slice of electronica. Krts supplies a dusty, broken remix with a deep, creeping progression; these two versions really compliment each other. On the flip you'll find the jazzy 'Can I Mither You', suspenseful but really groovy house music. Finishing the whole thing off is the deep as you like 'Frizzy Fuzz'; lovely drums and synths, pure atmosphere. And keep an ear out for Chocky's interlude/DJ tool 'Ripp Off', it pays homage to his love of sampling...
300 single pressed, hand stamped & individually numbered records.

Mark E's 'Call Me' finally gets released via MERC this September. Ever since its appearance on the Mark E Beats In Space Mix nearly a year ago it has remained a must have track and appeared in Faith's top 10 tracks of 2010 without seeing the light of day. Staying true to an original " House " aesthetic, Call Me merges a relentless bass line with soaring strings and an Organ build De'lacy would be proud of, combined with a spoken female vocal this is destined to be a future classic.
Dixon and Tensnake appear for remix duties, Dixon turns out a sublime re-work, tightening the feel in true Innervisions fashion, whilst Tensnake creates a genre defining remix that turns the track on its head and introduces 2 step garage attitude Mark E + Dixon + Tensnake = Huge 12"!

As the Instruments Of Rapture series draws to a close, the penultimate release comes courtesy of one of our favourite producers, Tornado Wallace. 'Rainbow Road' see's Captain Wallace take us on a star-bound, jazz-funk journey where time stands still and emotions run high. With the equally positive 'Don't Hold Back' and a Revenge remix on the flip, this is a fitting build-up for the final instalment on the label

Mystery Meat is back! Following a hiatus since last summer's double-sided whammy release courtesy of NYC disco dons Jacques Renault and Lee Douglas, 'Pump' b/w 'Got To Find A Disco', the top secret edits label returns with the Bicep boys in tow. And what a return it is! Bicep have been making serious noise over the past several months following their auspicious debut on the Throne of Blood label in late 2010. In the months since, they've gone on to remix Domino Recording's Blood Orange, Tal M. Klein (a known associate of fellow Mystery Meaters Nick Chacona & Anthony Mansfield), and LA upstarts Cosmic Kids, and their follow-up EP2 is currently doing the damage on discerning dancefloors the world over.

Summer release for Apersonal Music comes with the debut of James Teej on the Barcelona-based imprint. Teej, a Canadian fine style producer who has been gaining attention in the scene for his complex and personal productions, releasing on labels as Rekids, My Favorite Robot, Rebirth; and recently under the aka of The King Arms on Wolf+Lamb. Teej now amazes us once more with 2 high caliber bombs for the season, 'Fame' and 'City Celebrity', long and elaborated disco-tech tracks that wont let down his fans nor the audience looking for strong and complex slowmo nudisco & tech-house music.
