Glow is the second studio album by English Britpop band Reef. Produced by the band and George Drakoulias, the album was released on 27 January 1997 supported by the singles Place Your Hands', Come Back Brighter', Consideration' and Yer Old'. Glow topped the UK Albums Chart.

Generally speaking, Glow was received positively. Music website Allmusic gave the album four out of five stars, claiming it to be more focused and better than its predecessor (Replenish)' and describing it as inspired' and terrific'. Rock music magazine Kerrang! ranked the album third on their 1997 Albums of the Year' list.

Originally released on Island Records in 1979, Suicide's second single features two non-LP
tracks including Dream Baby Dream,' their best-known song and often covered by Bruce
Springsteen. This first-time vinyl reissue and first-time domestic release comes with original

The Answer' was recorded in 1992 in Hanover, GERMANY and showcases how tight a rock band the group had become. This album has long
been out of print with copies currently changing hands at over a £100 a copy. This must have edition has been remastered with three bonus

Back in the mid '80s ANDY SCOTT guitarist, songwriter and producer was living in London carving out a new career for himself after forming
SWEET who had no less than 13 UK Top 20 hit singles from 1971-1978 when he bumped into his old agent and from that meeting he decided to
put together the next generation of the band.
MICK TUCKER on drums, PAUL MARIO DAY (ex IRON MAIDEN) on vocals, PHIL LANZON (URIAH HEEP) on keyboards and MAL McNULTY
(SLADE) on bass and Andy of course on lead guitar. It was one hell of a line up and a band with a much harder edge which is where Andy had
always been keen to take SWEET.
'Live At the Marquee' was originally released in 1989 even though the concert had been recorded in 1986 prior to the Clubs closure in 1988. Two
additional live tracks from that performance have been added as bonus tracks which are available for the very first time on vinyl!

The Fall's debut release from 1978. Three spiky numbers boldly announce the arrival of this
Manchester group that eschewed the cosmetic elements of punk and New Wave. This first-time

Smith's acid-tinged poetry illuminates the dour North, the band's snot-nosed scrabble afflicts

Hardcore Matinee is an ode to the budget punk rock compilations that informed
a young John Reis, Swami Records head honcho / overlord. While
many of these LPs were disposable—they favored quantity over quality,
cramming 40 or 50 unknown groups onto records that crackled and popped
with tinny sound and infantile graphics—their cut-rate aesthetic has actually
weathered the passage of time relatively well. Call it nostalgia or perhaps
a testament to how truly ugly the world has become, but these records can
now be enjoyed as curious oddities of a bygone era. It was with this inspiration
that Hardcore Matinee was assembled.
The compilation features 22 of San Diego's most exciting groups and
covers the wide range of current punk music. From well-established bands
such as Hot Snakes (with their first new recording since 2004 and featuring
both drummers on the same recording), Pinback (their final recording before
disbanding and then reforming) and Gary Wilson (off his recent collaboration
with The Roots) to up-and-coming bands Octagrape (ex-Truman's
Water), Death Eyes (hardcore supergroup with members of Rat's Eyes and
Death Crisis) and Schizophonics, this record's varied styling is a jarring ride.
The Swami Records harem is represented by the reformed Sultans (first recording
since 2003), Beehive and The Barracudas (first new recordings
since 2008), Mrs. Magician (an outtake from their soon-to-be-released second
album Bermuda) and The Heartaches (first new recording since their
Too Cool For School LP). Other artists include The Loons (featuring Mike
Stax of Ugly Things), Rob Crow, Teenage Burritos (Burger Records), Plateaus
(Art Fag Records), Creepy Creeps (Dionysus Records), The Widows
(Route 44 Records), Ale Mania (Volar Records), Ghetto Blaster (ex-Fishwife
and The Let Downs), WHA (ex-Tourettes Lautrec), The Shake Before
Us, The Lumps (both on Tower Bar Records) and the debut of The Soaks.
In order to stay true to the original compilations' aesthetic, it was important
to keep the music fresh and moving quickly. All of the bands recorded
new and previously unreleased material and kept their contribution as brief
as possible. Hardcore Matinee showcases a cross-section of some of Swami
Records' favorite, current San Diego noise and presents it in a blurred collection
high on energy and momentum. The result is a whole record greater
than the sum of its parts.
Equally important was to keep the spirit of regional punk rock alive
for future generations. As a result, proceeds from Hardcore Matinee will be
donated to The Museum School in San Diego and be used exclusively for
their music department. The Museum School is a tuition-free, public charter
school that serves students from all over San Diego in Kindergarten through
8th grade.

Anton Barbeau —writer, performer and producer of original music of the 'pre-apocalyptic psychedelic pop' variety — has a new album, Magic Act. Anton has been described by Spin Magazine as 'a pure distillation of lyrical jabberwocky, brain-burrowing melody and mystical psych-guitar fuzz'. With his esoteric and highly-personalized brand of singer-songwriter shtick, 'mind-bending' stage show and auto-neurotic humor, he's been called a genius by BBC Radio, built a global fan base and released numerous well-received records.

Swaggering out of Los Angeles in the mid 80's like a gang of urban pirates, Guns N' Roses went onto become one of the biggest bands of all time, one of the few to pass into the pantheon of true rock, stadium-filling titans alongside acts such as Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Queen or Metallica. They were the rock band that non-rock fans got into, an act that trascended their genre. They were also the most volatile and unpredictable band, courting controversy every step of the way and enjoying a lifestyle that took the rock 'n' roll clichès of disharmony, wealth, inflated egos, and self-delusion to new levels. This compilation of previously unreleased versions of tracks recorded between 1988 and 1992 features the band playing to packed audiences from the MTV music awards, Farm Aid, and the American Music Awards, also including a special vocal performance from Axl Rose with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and a rare exclusive radio interview from the early days. On August 13th, 1994 Nine Inch Nails took part in Woodstock '94 at Winston Farm in Saugerties, NY as the final date of the Self Destruct Tour. Their performance is considered one of the best in the band's history, despite the band's opinion that it was one of their worst. They took the stage covered head-to-toe in mud. This single performance is widely accepted as the one that made the band famous.

Only a few weeks ater the release of his legendary second album, The Last In Line, Dio and band rolled into the Pacific Northwest. That night they only played 2 tracks from the new album, instead electing to focus on cuts from the first record as well as classic Dio/Iommi-era Sabbath tracks from Mob Rule, Heaven & Hell, and Children Of The Sea. The band examines technology, love, and death throughout: how separation in humanity can come through any of these avenues, how people try to outrun the demise of lives and relationships, how technology can isolate us and impact our relationships even as we completely - and willingly - assimilate ourselves into it (or go Into The Code,' as the opening track suggests), and how we've begun to forego privacy for a feeling of immortality in order to not be ignored or forgotten.

Harris explains, Technology, love and death are the three obsessions of the record. Our privacy used to be so important to us and now everything has changed - we freely off­er once private information about relationships and reveal everything about our day-to-day lives. The galloping anthem Hey You' depicts a paranoid fantasy of fleeing from the Grim Reaper as he calls after you, the poppy, sing-along sadness of My Heart Went Cold' plays on the double metaphor of the loss of love/life, and the surprisingly uplifting, soaring Thinking Of You' is both a straight-forward love song and relationship eulogy. We Disappear is a walk through modern life and love, and despite its dark themes, The Thermals here deliver one of their most spirited, anthemic, and rousing releases to date.

Based out of Birmingham, Alabama, the trio- comprised of lead singer/bass player David Brown, guitarist David Swatzell, and drummer Blake Wimberly- have a shared history that reaches back over a decade in the Birmingham music scene. Expectations for this compelling act continue to grow with the groundswell of support and patronage they've received since they first made their debut in 2013. Having received accolades from everyone from The New York Times to MOJO- alongside appearances on MTVu and Daytrotter- their penchant for adventurous music-making will pay big dividends in the years to come.

Brown, the band's lyricist, singles out the title track as a particular favorite, explaining its meaning as an example of how he approaches songs as a whole: "A lot of times my lyrical inspiration comes from documentaries or listening to science podcasts. Hypatia, she was a 4th Century scientist/ philosopher/ mathematician. (Hypatia was esteemed by contemporaries for her notable intellect, and was reported to have been killed at the hands of a religious mob in Alexandria, Egypt.) Meanwhile, a lot of the lyrics I write also have romantic undertones, similar to New Wave and postpunk bands as well."

From standout tracks like the surging rhythmic workout of "May 23rd," to the back-and-forth college rock/guitar crescendo overdrive of "Shiva," the group's triangulated presence is in full force, offering a glimpse into the forward-thinking minds of one of Birmingham's best and brightest bands. Combined with decidedly uptempo numbers like the rollicking "Giant" and their inverted take on Faust's krautrock classic "Jennifer"- Hypatia has set the bar exceedingly high for progressive music coming out of the Deep South.

Hallelujah is the fourth album by Canned Heat, released in 1969. It was re-released on CD in 2001 by MAM productions with four bonus tracks. It was the last album to feature classic lineup mark 1, as Vestine left the band prior to Future Blues.


With Bob Hite and Alan Wilson switching off on vocals, Canned Heat delivered as consistent a blues product as George Thorogood, only with more diversity and subtle musical nuances keeping the listener involved.

Though there was no specific hit on Hallelujah, this enjoyable album shows Canned Heat's innovation, which would inspire groups like Duke & the Drivers down the road, fans so obsessed with the subject matter that they crossed over to the professional arena.

American psychedelic/progressive rock band active in the late 1960s and early 1970s. They formed in Miami, Florida in 1967, originally consisting of Billy Robbins (vocals), Bob Robbins (bass), Jim DeMeo (guitar), Mario Russo (keyboards) and Greg Kimple (drums). Vocalist Billy Robbins died and was replaced by Lydia Janene Miller (aka Jamene Miller). The band released just one album in 1970. After Miller left, the rest of the band carried on as Year One.

Gabin are Filippo Clary and Massimo Bottini. They joined forces back in 2001 and, from the very beginning, shown the world to be one of the hottest acts on the electro lounge scene. Their first hit was 'Doo Uap Doo Uap Doo Uap', which was also the first ever single released, but it was soon followed by an incredible string of hits, which not just had impact on the international charts, in fact several of Gabin's songs were included on synchronizations, both commercial and films/tv series. Since then, Gabin released 3 studio albums (Gabin, Mr Freedom, Soundtrack System), a double studio album (Third and Double), a single album with different versions of the tracks taken by the double album (TAD/Replay) and a best of album (The First Ten Years), which contains what are considered the best songs of their first three albums. Since 2001, tracks written, recorded and performed by Gabin were used for more than 70 synchronizations. At some point, it was some sort of game, we put together all of the songs of the first three albums which were not included in 'The First Ten Years', sat down with the band, listened to it and found out that it was a fantastic album. This is how 'The Supreme Collection' came to life and none of the songs selected can be considered second choice; they couldn't find the right exposure at the time the respective albums were released, but now that time has come. The album also includes two previously unreleased remixes of the masterpiece 'Une Histoire D'Amoure' which features "Gipsy Kings" Josef Fargier on vocals. Furthermore, in Italy, we'll release the album on cd as well and this will give the fans the possibility to collect them again, as the first albums are basically impossible to find in any shops

Maxoom is the 1972 debut studio album by the Canadian rock band Mahogany Rush. It was also the debut of Frank Marino as the band's producer.



Canadian hard rock band whose lead guitarist, Frank Marino, obviously admired Jimi Hendrix. This is a good heavy psych hard rock long play. Well written tunes that rock from the first track to the last. Good guitar and good tunes, what more does a rock album need

While I understand the stylistic comparisons with the rather dull and lifeless (but occasionally good) Cressida, I must say that this is a way more charming record.
The dated "circus organ" is obviously the leading instrument here, and there are a couple of moments where they dive headfirst into full-blown bombastic prog ("Suite for Selena"), but weirdly enough I tend to prefer the shorter, dreamier songs like "Little Victim" and "Clog I".. It's one of those albums that have one foot in 60's UK psychedelic pop and the other in early keyboard-driven prog (The Nice style).. it's all very English sounding, with a delicate, whimsy atmosphere.. and the whole thing is more than the sum of its parts. Cool, overlooked little gem. Recommended if you like the more frumpish, "old-world" side of UK prog with a bit of 60's pop.

Fragile Creatures are a rock band on a mission to restore Britain's reputation for original guitar music. They come equipped with an inventive songbook full of instant classics led by catchy melodies, tight harmonies, clever arrangements and great lyrics. They released their debut single, double a-side 'Dear Michael / She Makes Me Nervous' in June 2012 gaining rave reviews and radioplay from Absolute Radio, BBC Introducing and many local stations. 'Dear Michael' went on to win the award for best music video in the Brighton Music Awards 2013.
They returned with an eponymous EP in Autumn 2014, collecting together recordings they'd been working on the previous year which was warmly received by radio and critics. During the summer they decamped to Bath to record a full-length album of fresh material with engineer and producer Stuart Bruce, Stuart's experience of working with diverse artists (from Kate Bush to Yes) makes him ideally placed to capture the creative essence of a band so hard to pigeon-hole.

Paul Halford aka Johnny Moped played in various bands in the early '70s before forming his own band in 1976 with Fred Berk (bass) and Dave Berk (drums), plus help from Captain Sensible on guitars. Their first performance took place on January 2, 1977, at the mighty Hope & Anchor pub in London. Captain Sensible soon left to concentrate on The Damned, so Johnny Moped enlisted a pre-Pretenders Chrissie Hynde to help him out. They played numerous gigs in London opening to lots of the current radical bands. They released their first 7", No One/Incendiary Device, in 1977, and followed it in '78 with Darling, Let's Have Another Baby. Both records boosted the band's status in the UK punk and pub rock scenes. In April 1978, the Chiswick label released Cycledelic, Johnny Moped's only full-length album, with Roger Armstrong as producer. Twelve hymns, one after the other, that make for an absolutely perfect record.

This is the third of four Remarquable Records vinyl releases in our JOHNNY THUNDERS: 1978 series, celebrating New York's iconoclastic rock'n'roll vagabond JOHNNY THUNDERS. The cult guitar hero was a founding member of two highly influential groups: the fabulous NEW YORK DOLLS and 'punk' pioneers THE HEARTBREAKERS. By 1978 Johnny had relocated to London, forging plans for a solo career which culminated in the release of his career-peak album 'SO ALONE'. In 1984 Johnny himself acknowledged it was 'the best record I ever made'. Under the guiding hand of producer STEVE LILLYWHITE and amidst an unrepeatable roll call of friends only too willing and able to help out, Johnny forged an album which has gone on to influence generations, spawning his most popular single 'YOU CAN'T PUT YOUR ARMS ROUND A MEMORY' which featured prominently in the award winning HBO TV series 'The Sopranos' and Scorsese's film 'BRING OUT THE DEAD'. It's an unmissable all-time classic. In the wake of Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger's highly anticipated new HBO Television series VINYL - whose initial episode features Johnny's music - this EXCLUSIVE and unlikely-to-be-repeated Remarquable Special Edition of Johnny's 'SO ALONE' album is timely, and rounds up the complete original 'SO ALONE' album as well as non-album tracks released on singles and two key unissued outtakes.

Following the acclaim for their 2014 self-titled debut album and recent tours with Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion and Palma Violets, on March 25th MING CITY R*CKERS will release their second album, 'LEMON'.

Recorded in summer 2015 and produced by Steve Albini (legendary producer of Nirvana's 'In Utero' and Pixies' 'Surfer Rosa'), at his Electrical Audio studios, in Chicago, 'LEMON' is an explosion of punk rock action, packed with fast tunes, monster riffs, and lyrical vitriol, chiefly inspired by the band's desperate background in the bleak Lincolnshire town of Immingham.

Kicking off with the raucous 'Sell Me A Lemon' (which may or not be a recessionary anthem, about the widening gulf between the haves and the have-nots), it's immediately clear Albini helped the band hone their sound, from the ramshackle excitement of their debut, into something punchier, heavier and more on-the-money. Tracks like 'All I Want To Do Is Waste My Time With You' showcase their pop smarts in a sleazily romantic, extra-melodic breed of punk reminiscent of Buzzcocks, whereas the yowling 'Christine', whose lyrics were inspired by the automotive heroine of the similarly titled Stephen King movie, skips through the annals of early rock & roll. 'Death Trap', a mean take on a Hawkwind nugget from '79, features oppressively dense guitar textures, doubtless reflecting the band's hometown of Immingham's hopelessness, different again, 'Trying To Find Pixies' is flat-out punky-reggae, influenced by Toots & The Maytals and The Clash.

The curious chemistry behind the Mings' central couple of Clancey Jones (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and Morley Adams (lead guitar, backing vocals) is typified by 'I Don't Mind If You Don't Mind': Morley was trying to write something frustrated and angry, whereas Clancey was adamant it needed to have a happy chorus. The result is one of several rampant pop triumphs aboard. Elsewhere, the pointedly titled 'Don't You Want To Make My Heart Beat' deals in a whole new realm of swingeing dynamics, bringing the album to a breathless close.

'LEMON' retains Ming City Rockers visceral, balls-to-wall primal rock 'n' roll and infectious ability to write a hook and pop melody. It's the sound of a band pushing themselves to new limits, and having a right old gas while doing so. Like its predecessor, it clocks in at under 30 minutes, but achieves a good deal more in that running time.

'LEMON' will be available on digital download, CD and vinyl. 'Sell Me A Lemon' will be the first single from the album. The band will tour extensively throughout late March and April - details to follow very soon.

The first ever vinyl-reissue of this rare anarcho punk LP from 1985. Potential Threat emerged in the early '80s Blackburn scene. They played gigs with legendary bands s.a. Crass, Discharge and Conflict. This LP, originally on Mortarhate, followed a couple of 7-inches and was Potential Threat's sole full-length.
