Fans of British guitar music were wondering what was coming next. Shoe-gazing had run out of steam, Madchester was over, and nothing had sprung up in their place. The scene was dominated by imported grunge music from America with Nirvana and Pearl Jam leading the way. The three biggest British guitar bands of the mid-nineties - Radiohead, Oasis and Blur - had yet to release their iconic albums which would shape the course of the UK scene for the rest of the decade.

Levitation recorded their second album, Meanwhile Gardens, in early 1993, and were set to release this ambitious and innovative work when the band split later that year. The recordings were shelved indefinitely. Had this album been released as planned, it would have had a major impact on UK guitar music, of equal importance as the breakthrough albums by the three bands mentioned above and pre-dating them by at least a year. Unfortunately, no one apart from a few dedicated fans trading low quality bootlegs were able even to hear it, and the moment was lost.

Flashback Records release Meanwhile Gardens for the first time in the original planned format. The album has been painstakingly remastered at high resolution from the original tapes and sounds as fresh and new now as it did in 1993. New artwork has been commissioned from original sleeve designer Cally at antar.

Eleven tracks have been selected by the band as the definitive version of Meanwhile Gardens to be released on 23rd October 2015 as a gatefold double LP and single CD. Three tracks recorded at the same time but not included on the album were released as a limited edition vinyl only EP on Record Store Day, April 18th 2015.

The second album from John Lydon's post-Sex Pistols group is widely considered to be their magnum opus. Combining such diverse influences as krautrock, dub, post-punk, and the avant-garde, Second Edition is four sides of harsh and uncompromising, yet danceable, music. While not the immediate influence and sensation that Never Mind The Bullocks was, this record is certainly John Lydon's finest artistic achievement. An Evening with the Allman Brothers Band: 2nd Set is a live album by the American group the Allman Brothers Band. It was recorded in 1992 and 1994, and released in 1995.

The old Allman material gets fresh new approaches. The quality of the recording make this a most rewarding 70 minutes of live music on a purely technical level. You can practically hear the action on the guitars during the acoustic set.

An Evening with the Allman Brothers Band: 2nd Set is available on vinyl for the first time. It also includes the Grammy Award-winning classic 'Jessica'.

Expanded deluxe edition of The Deep's one and only album, originally released in 1966 and now well-established as a psychedelic classic. One night in a darkened Philadelphia studio, the Deep (Rusty Evans, songwriting partner and producer Mark Barkan, the legendary David Bromberg, whose credits include playing with Bob Dylan and many others, plus a bevy of talented musicians) laid down tempestuous garage punkers, sweetly-twisted ballads and ambiguous weirdness, all rife with hyper-psychedelic lyrical flashes of a rolling midnight expressway through the subconscious mind. A perfect representation of the psychedelic sound: free-form poetry, infectious drum beats, fuzzed out guitar, and playfully plucked bass (and vibes and tympani and so on), swirl together, coalescing into some of the most impressive psychedelic rock you'll hear. Cuts like 'Your Choice To Choose,' sound very Seeds-like or proto-Velvet Underground, Lou Reed snarl and all; others like 'Shadows On The Wall' and 'Wake Up and Find Me' are haunting acid ballads: the whole point of the album was to thoroughly explore the hallucinatory agony and ecstasy of a 12-hour Technicolor dream... although the end result is more amphetamine edgy than acid-soaked trippy. The Deep "Psychedelic Moods" pre-dates its closest kindred sprit in sound and energy (albeit not subject matter): 'The Velvet Underground and Nico" came along five months later, and the world of music shifted on its axis—but too late for the Deep.
This 3xLP release of 'Psychedelic Moods' is taken from the original four-track master tapes. In addition to the superlative master takes, there are three sides of out-takes and alternates from the Deep original four-track session tapes. This set also marks the vinyl debut of all known recordings by Inner Sanctum (aka Hydro Pyro), another LSD trip project produced by Mark Barkan in 1966. The Way It Is is Bruce Hornsby and the Range's debut album, released in 1986. Led by its hit title track, the album went on to achieve multi-Platinum status and helped the group to win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

The group has a distinct sound of its own, often led by Hornsby's bright piano chords and elastic tenor. There is New Age music here, as well as Jazz and Country, and the mixture is presented naturally by musicians who seem to have been playing with each other for some time.

It's no surprise that the music is so accomplished. Hornsby was no teenage neophyte when he made it, having kicked around the music business and gotten into his thirties, and the band includes such veterans as David Mansfield, who remembered as a member of Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder troupe and the Alpha Band, as well as being a film composer.

In March 2014 Australian singer-songwriter Carl Coleman and Danish producer and pianist Caspar
Hesselager started recording and experimentng together.
Numerous online media and indie radio have since then featured the frst two tracks from Palace Win-
ter and now, a year afer the band formed and with just a handful of shows played, Palace Winter has
signed to Copenhagen-based label Tambourhinoceros (Rangleklods, Cancer, Chorus Grant, CTM etc.).
Caspar elaborates on how the two work together: 'one of the reasons working with Carl is great, is that
his background is totally diferent from mine, yet we stll seem to end up musically in a place where we
really enjoy being. I studied classical piano, played a lot of jazz and ended up doing a lot of electronic
music and pop as well, but Carl's playing and singer-songwriter background is sort of a missing piece
in all that, something I never dived into myself apart from listening to it. We both like a lot of the same
music, and I think we just compliment each other well.'

Q65 was a Dutch R&B-based psychedelic Garage Rock group formed in 1965, that is often considered one of the more prominent bands associated with the Nederbeat Rock wave that took place in The Netherlands in the '60s.

In 1969, the band released their second LP 'Revival', which contained Q'65 hits, album tracks, the outtake 'Fairy Tales Of Truth' (apparently a Circus track sung by Willem Bieler) and three tracks by Circus.

117 Degrees (1998) is the second studio album by former Guns N' Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin, and his first musical work not released under a band name. The album picks up right where The Ju Ju Hounds left off, offering a set of 14 bluesy hard rockers in the vein of Chuck Berry, the Stones, the Faces, Aerosmith, and Guns N'Roses.

117 Degrees features appearances from Stradlin's former Guns N' Roses bandmate Duff McKagan and former Ju Ju Hounds' bandmate Rick Richards, also ex-of The Georgia Satellites. The tracks 'Memphis, Tennessee' and 'Good Enough' feature the Ju Ju Hounds lineup, as the songs were recorded by the band before breaking up.

This album rocks harder than most roots-Rock albums of the late '90s. None of his contemporaries were even trying for this kind of unassuming, straightforward, well-crafted Hard Rock.

A project very nice and convincing the general public that brings the soul pop band, deeply marked by the fusion of different musical worlds ranging from symphonic prog rock. The album features many guests who took part in the project and can boast the collaboration of excellence of the Italian music industry, Lorenzo Cazzaniga (collaborator, among others, Claudio Baglioni, Lucio Dalla, Fabrizio De André, Ray Charles, Sting, Mina, PFM, Pooh and Vasco Rossi) who took care of the mix and mastering. The album contains thirteen tracks The crazy tunes that mix the prevalent use of Italian in raids in the English language, all interspersed with instrumental inserts. It was a result of the union of a wide range of emotions to convey, a cocktail musically very original in which you can find stretches of proximity to the sound of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, who are to co-exist in an equilibrium with unusual and successful melodies close to the musical production license plate PFM. The crazy tunes is a record that contains compelling ballads prog rock atmospheres able to combine gentle accelerations decided, like in Innerspace and While you fall that seem to come from a disc of The Animals. Influence "seventies" that characterizes the entire hard sometimes veering toward the lightness never trivial (as in Out!) And to the intense depth, as in the garden of my madness, a crescendo with a very strong impact. Sound convincing, much more when sung in Italian, in a result at all obvious that makes it even more worthy of attention this new musical reality, a group with great potential in the already formed thanks to a style complex but perfectly focused. The project was born from the meeting of four musicians from Milan who, after years of playing music between unpublished, cover, lectures and studio work, they decide to give birth to a new project, from which comes an album result of the meeting / clash between their stories and their paths, as diverse as they are compatible, held together by a common passion for '70s rock. Contamination of the group that brought the band all'inedito style that turns into an unusual balance between sound so different. The band consists of Simon Corazzari (vocals, guitar, songwriter and producer), Massimiliano Masciari (bass and steel drum), Francesco Meles (drums and percussion) and Mark Antony Cerioli (keyboards and vocals).

Here at Control Room Recordings we feature Analog only synthesizer recordings and "one off" and "special" projects. Our last release was from The Human League and we are pleased to be following that up with another titanic group from the 80's, Visage. Following the tragic death of Steve Strange in Feb 2015 Visage and Steve Strange's family are planning a series of events to honour Steve's life and commemorate the impact that he made on the worlds of fashion, music and style. One of those events is the fifth and final studio album from Visage. As a bridge between the highly successful fourth album "Hearts and Knives" and this future album we are pleased to be releasing a vinyl only special single.

On side A we feature an extended version of one of the highlights of the Hearts and Knives album the track "Lost in Static". This previously un-released mix will not be available on CD. It takes the moody, foreboding but uplifting original and extends it to a 10 minute synthesizer epic. The song was written for the 2013 comeback album and Steve's lyrics talk about a time away in isolation only to return once more into the fray. Robin Simons uplifting and shimmering effected guitar works in perfect unison with the foreboding synthesizer bass lines and progressive pad chord pattern.

On side B we are also pleased to feature an exclusive track made for the dancefloor, "Seven Deadly Sins Part Two". In 1981 Visage remixed their first single "Frequency 7" for the dancefloor. The rhythms were big, the PPG waves oscillated big and electro reigned. Several years later Visage again once again make a track for the dancefloor. Seven Deadly Sins again mines a deep electronic mine. It adds in driving System 700 bass, CR78 beats and darting synthesized riffs. Guest contributor then Mick Macneil dusts off his old Korg 770 for a solo reminiscent of his early 80s work with Simple Minds.

Visage History: Visage began in 1978 when Steve Strange and Blitz Club partner-in-crime Rusty Egan joined forces with Midge Ure to create a futuristic, synthesizer-led group where style and fashion were matched by experimental but accessible music. The group was soon augmented with members of Magazine (John McGeoch, Dave Formula and Barry Adamson) and Billy Currie. They recorded their first single Tar with Martin Rushent at his Genetic Studio in 1979 (shortly to become the birthplace of the Human League Dare album). Their breakthrough track "Fade To Grey" became a European hit and reached number 1 in eight countries in 1980. The band then enjoyed a series of hit singles "Mind Of A Toy", "Night Train" and "The Anvil" coming from a pair genre defying albums, the eponymous "Visage" in 1980 and "The Anvil" in 1982. In 1981 Ultravox now led by Midge Ure took off and in 1982 Midge and Billy left to concentrate on what would become one of the biggest bands of the 80's (Ultravox). In 1984 Visage made their 3rd album "Beatboy". As the public face of the band Steve Strange shot to stardom throughout Europe he continued to be active in hosting club nights (The Camden Palace, Club For Heroes) and in the fashion world. ATLANTIDE is largely regarded as one of musical producer and engineer Jean-Pierre Massiera's major 70's projects, rather than being highlighted as a short-lived ensemble. While their sole, self-titled album failed on the path towards popularity and promotion, it is instead significantly appreciated for the classic-sounding, obscure and rare French prog treat it mirrors. At the foundation of Atlantide is the conceptual sum of Massiera's compositions, vocal-instrumental sketches and expectations, everything inspired by painter Jean-Claude Perrouin's futuristic approach of the ancient myth. Perrouin himself ordered the musical work, later providing with one of his canvases for the cover art. Brainstorming over the initial sketches, mastering the melodies, pushing the arrangements into the complex, modulating, branched or rehearsing during many night sessions - all this lasted more than the recording, which was done swiftly, par-constrainedly in five weeks. Even here, though, changes hardly ceased, covering from new studio sounds & overdubbing to adding new instruments such as the initially-absent mellotron or the sitar (Torrelli playing both). Atlantide's final form was a five-piece, 30 minutes unveiling.

ETRON FOU LE LOUBLAN (French for "Crazy Shit, The White Wolf" or "Mad Shit, the White Wolf"), also known as EFL, were a French avant-garde rock band founded in 1973 by actor and saxophonist Chris Chanet. They recorded five studio albums between 1976 and 1985, and released a live album, En Public Aux Etats-Unis d'Amérique, recorded during a tour of the United States in 1979. ETRON FOU LE LOUBLAN were best known as one of the five original Rock in Opposition (RIO) bands that performed at the first RIO festival in London in March 1978. Replica is proud to present, for the first time ever, the sonic testimony of the unbelievable performance.

Shooting at the Moon (1970) is the second solo album of Kevin Ayers. Following the release of his solo debut, Joy Of A Toy MOVLP1257, Kevin Ayers created The Whole World to take the album on the road.
Following the tour, the band (including Mike Oldfield, Lol Coxhill, Mick Fincher, Robert Wyatt and David Bedford), found itself in the studio. In October 1970, Ayers introduced the world to the Whole World with the release of his follow- up Shooting At The Moon.
Shooting At The Moon is a solid, unique Pop record. However, Ayers has presented the material in the guise of progressive, arty Rock. No songs in Ayers' discography are more representative of his amiable musical nature than these.

MOVING GELATINE PLATES were in retrospect one of France's finest progressive rock bands. Forming in the wake of the tumultuous political situation of France in the late 60s, their music was distinctly apolitical, filled with a refreshing sense of humor and an irreverence that distinguished them from many of their more brooding contemporaries. The seeds sown for success, their debut album was finally released by CBS in 1971 to a heavy critical acclaim, but lack of proper promotion, combined with poor management, led to a less successful tour. It cannot be considered anything less than classic, though, drawing and fusing all manner of influences and setting the tone early on for a eclectic national French scene that was among the strongest in Europe.

Mudhoney in 1992 were the quintessence of grunge rock. None of the 'first-era' grungy bands were even remotely able to compare the fury of their live shows and this live recording from 1992 in Hamburg is no exception. SHUB NIGGURATH was an avant-rock/zeuhl band from France founded in 1983 by Allan Baullaud, and remained active until Baullaud's death from cancer in 1995. The band is named after one of the deities in Cthulhu Mythos created by the American horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. Their debut album, Les Morts Vont Vite, released in 1986 by Musea label, received critical acclaim for its innovative avant-garde inclinations and major developments over MAGMA sound.

This Oceanic Feeling is a new trio featuring singer/songwriter and producer Chris Braide (The Producers/DBA etc),bass player Lee Pomeroy (It Bites/Headspace/Archive/Rick Wakeman/Three Friends) and feted session drummer Ash Soan.
The themed album features 12 songs about dualism and ego death, and features some brilliantly dynamic musicianship.
Combining strong melodies with meaningful lyrics, the album offers a cinematic sound that skirts the edges of Progressive, 1980s Art Pop and FM Rock.

From Stanwell, in Middlesex Action Pact's singer George Cheex was 15 years old when their first single 'Heathrow Touchdown' was released, in October 1981. Two of the band's contributions to the EP, "London Bouncers" and "All Purpose Action Footwear", got the attention of BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel. He played the single many times and wanted the band to record their first session, which they did on 22 February 1982.[1] They recorded "People", "Suicide Bag", "Mindless Aggression", "Losers", and "Cowslick Blues". The resulting demo tape caught the attention of the fledgling label Fall Out Records, which signed the band as the first act on its roster. !Action Pact!'s label debut, the Suicide Bag EP, was released in July 1982 and rocketed to the top of the British punk chart. Limited to 500 copies, this retrospective on one of the hidden gems of early british punk is a must-have. Comes complete with 8 pages 30x30cm booklet with pictures and liner notes.

This is the 30th Bob Dylan album, released in 1997. Time Out of Mind is hailed as one of Dylan's best albums, and it went on to win three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year in 1998.

The album features a particularly atmospheric sound, the work of producer (and past Dylan collaborator) Daniel Lanois, whose innovative work with carefully placed microphones and strategic mixing. Sonically, the album is reminiscent of Oh Mercy, the last album Dylan recorded with producer Daniel Lanois, but Time Out of Mind has a grittier foundation - by and large, the songs are bitter and resigned, and Dylan gives them appropriately anguished performances.

Original vinyl copies of Time Out Of Mind were made in small numbers, making this official reissue a much needed one!

Back To Basics does exactly what it says on the sleeve. It is unashamedly stripped back. The snappy lyrics are refreshingly audible and the instrumentation is clean, subtle and accomplished.
Bill Wyman's first solo album in 33 years wears its influences on its sleeve - Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, JJ Cale - and there's more than a passing nod to Bill's own English background. It is that rare thing, a melt of styles and genres that actually work together - uplifting in a jaunty, dancey way and pensive in a bluesy, narrative way.
Bill Wyman's last solo UK album, Bill Wyman, was released in 1982. Back To Basics comprises only his fourth UK solo release. But Bill has not been idle of course. 31 years in the Rolling Stones, author of seven learned books, globally exhibited photographer, metal detecting expert with his own brand of metal detector, producer, composer for film and TV and founder of the very successful Rhythm Kings who release albums and tour regularly - he has had a pretty full calendar. It was only when archiving old demos last year he realised he had around 60 songs he'd never released. He chose three songs that needed reworking and did just that. He put them together with brand new songs and went into his studio to record them. The album comprises 12 tracks in total, eight of which are new songs. Musicians joining Bill in the studio include long-time collaborator/guitarist Terry Taylor, Guy Fletcher (Mark Knopfler), Graham Broad and Robbie McIntosh while co-production credit goes to Andy Wright (Jeff Beck, Eurythmics, Simply Red).
