Grit is the third album by Norwegian Prog Rock band Madrugada. The band took once again a different approach to their previous release The Nightly Disease MOVLP1506 featuring a much rawer and at times more experimental sound with Krautrock and Garage Rock influences taking turns.

Grit starts off with a considerable swagger on two grimy Rock numbers: 'Blood Shot Adult Commitment' and lead- off single 'Ready'. Augmented by traditional Americana- tinged minor key ballads that Madrugada are famous for, this is their most varied of their studio albums thus far!

1994 was a quiet year for Neil Young, who didn't tour to promote his Sleeps With Angels album, choosing to play a few benefits instead. Farm Aid, bringing relief to stricken farmers and their families, had long been a cause close to his heart, and the performance captured here turned out to be his most prominent date of the year. Reunited with his longtime collaborators Crazy Horse, he turned in an incendiary set that was recorded for FM broadcast. It's presented here together with background notes and images.

Monkey Glands EP' is Black Strobe's new 12' single, taken from their second album 'Godforsaken Roads' that was released in September 2014! Including an unreleased track "Over" and an industrial version of their killer Johnny Cash cover "Folsom Prison Blues".

The Human Menagerie is the debut studio album by Cockney Rebel. Produced by Neil Harrison, it was released in November 1973. Cockney Rebel's debut album is like waking up from a really weird dream, and discovering that reality is weirder still.

It's remarkable to recall the impact that Cockney Rebel had when they arrived on the scene in 1973 with 'The Human Menagerie'. Wide-eyed British teenagers who had been too young to succumb to early Bolan 'n' Bowie had a hero of their own: Steve Harley.

Harley might not have been the first cultural genius of his age, he was the first who wasn't content to simply zap the prevailing zeitgeist. He very much succeeded. Cockney Rebel's debut has weathered well - it's now considered an art-glam masterpiece.

der Garage-Rock-Katharsis des letzten Albums zeigt sich die Band klanglich weitaus ausgeglichener. Der
Fokus liegt eindeutig auf Melodien und Texturen, wodurch die Songs deutlich an Vitalität gewonnen haben.
Unverändert ist nach wie vor der bandtypische Soundmix. Das macht "Fading Frontier" zum sowohl
komplexesten als auch leichtesten zugänglichen Album von Deerhunter. Auch nach einem Jahrzehnt
Bandgeschichte haben Bradford Cox und Kollegen keinen Deut ihrer Intensität verloren. Im Gegenteil, seit
der Gründung ist die Band - innerhalb ihrer Generation - zu einem der wichtigsten Vertreter des Art-Rocks
gereift.

Kann man heutzutage eigentlich noch innovative Rockmusik machen Ja, kann man! Zum Beispiel, wenn
man aus Irland kommt und auf den Bandnamen Girl Band hört. Bei dem 2011 gegründeten Quartett aus
Dublin sind zwar ausschließlich Männer an Bord, aber der irreführende Name soll nicht darüber
hinwegtäuschen, dass hier vier junge Menschen mit großem Können und vor allem ganz ernsthaften
Absichten musizieren. Auf ihrem Debütalbum "Holding Hands With Jamie", das nun beim Label Rough Trade
erscheint, drischt die Band einen wuchtigen Post-Punk in die Welt, dass es nur so eine Art ist. Ursprünglich
beeinflusst von den Strokes, entwickelte sich der Band-Sound um etliche Facetten weiter, als man The Fall
und The Pop Group entdeckte. Aber auch The Birthday Party kann als musikalische Referenz gelten. Wie die
Formation um Sänger Dara Kiely selbst sagt, machen sie strukturierten Lärm. Und der geht so gut ins Ohr,
dass die ersten Singles bereits vergriffen sind. Also, ranhalten, das Album gibt's auch nicht alle Tage ...

Der Name Loma Prieta ist die Bezeichnung für einen höheren Berg in Kalifornien, ein schweres Erdbeben in
der Bucht von San Francisco (1989) und eine Hardcore-Band aus der Bay Area. Neben der geografischen
Nähe kann Brachialität als deren dominierendes Verbindungselement herhalten: gewaltige Größe, gewaltiger
Schaden, gewaltiger Sound. Loma Prieta gründeten sich im Jahr 2005 und stehen in der Tradition von Bands
wie Mohinder, Funeral Diner, Bread And Circuits, Yaphet Kotto sowie Indian Summer. Trotz der genannten
Einflüsse pflegt das Quartett unverkennbar einen über die Jahre organisch gewachsenen, recht
selbstreferentiellen Stil, der mächtig Dampf unter der Haube hat. Das neue Album "Self Portrait" enthält zehn
äußerst brutale Stücke, die dem Hörer Einiges an Einfühlungsvermögen abverlangen. "Self Portrait" wurde
von Jack Shirley im Atomic Garden Studio (Deafheaven) produziert und gleicht einer Angst und Schrecken
verbreitenden Tour de Force. Für Grenzgänger, die Touché Amoré, Converge und La Dispute ihre Zuneigung
schenken, dürfte das Album eine kathartische Wirkung besitzen.

Here finally released on vinyl the latest work of "Moongarden". The album in a beautiful gatefold covers with the great Ed Unitsky. Voyeur is a concept album. It tells the story of Vickey called MOUSE, a cleaner of a skyscraper in New York with a habit of spying on the characters more intriguing and the strangest situations that are taken from micro cameras cleverly placed in the furthest corners of the various apartments. After a careful selection, Vickey has identified 6 characters worthy of being followed regularly .... These characters are described in all their nuances in the various songs on the album .... Musically speaking, the band (while remaining firmly anchored to the school Genesisiana) continues its path towards a comprehensive renewal of the genre Progressive Rock and rewriting contaminating DNA. Elements of classic progressive rock intersect continuously with atypical influences in the genre like Rock Alternative and Post Rock, experimental electronic music, heavy metal, funk and synth pop without ever losing sight of the central objective: to write and propose "beautiful songs also easy listening". "Voyeur" could also be seen as a culmination of musical experiences faced by the band over the past 20 years: everything comes back into a spiral of continuous changes of atmosphere and harmonic experiments. The band exists since 1994 and has undergone several changes in the line up. The current lineup, in addition to historical components founders and DAVID CHRISTIAN ROVERSI Cremoni includes the historic singer (already present in the very first album of the band Moonsadness) SIMONE BALDINI TOSI, MIRKO Tagliasacchi bassist and guitarist (formerly with the band in 1995) DIMITRI sardini. The drummer Mattia SCOLFARO is the real novelty of 2015.

Sugar Ray became widely known through their infectious Pop single Fly', and a consequent lighter musical direction displayed by songs like Every Morning', Someday', and When It's Over'. However, at Sugar Ray's earliest conception, they were a Rock/Metal band at heart, with enough goofy energy to land them a deal with Atlantic and a debut record produced by DJ Lethal.

Lemonade and Brownies was released in 1995, and it showcases Sugar Ray in their most youthful and idealistic phase. Their major-label debut is a competent set of Alternative Funk/Metal, with a few Punk anthems to boot. Even though the album did not chart, the band stayed on the label going on to huge success a few years later.

DJ Lethal (of Limp Bizkit fame) produced the album. Named one of the sexiest covers art in the history of recorded music, actress Nicole Eggert (known for her role in the insanely popular '90s TV drama series Baywatch) is featured on the cover.

Swim Deep pre-empt their eagerly anticipated second album 'Mothers' with a new track 'Namaste', released through Chess Club / RCA on October 2nd.
'Namaste' continues to see the resurgent five-piece push onwards on a diverse upward trajectory, gate crashing the party yet again, with the Guardian hailing its wonder as, a blaze of horns and Supremes falsettos, even resembles the Take Me Out Theme gone Motown. Dazzling stuff.'
'Namaste' in hand with previous tracks from the album looks set to cement Swim Deep's newly acquired transformation, one that no doubt will continue with the release of 'Mothers' on September 25th.

Ten Years After was founded in 1966 by keyboardist Chick Churchill, drummer Ric Lee, guitarist Alvin Lee and bassist Leo Lyons. The band experimented with a psychedelic sound during the late sixties through the early seventies along with their career making performance at Woodstock which introduced themselves to music fans in America.

During that era, Ten Years After charted several albums in the United States such as Watt,' Cricklewood Green' and A Space in Time.' They also managed to chart two Top Forty singles Love Like a Man' and I'd Love to Change the World.'

Rock & Roll Music to the World is the seventh album by the English Blues Rock band Ten Years After, released in 1972. Here, Ten Years After expanded on their boogie base and continued the hits. The title cut was the hit, and they continued to groove along in the boogie atmosphere.

Kaum zu glauben, dass sich dieses Trio aus Berlin erst vor einem Jahr gefunden hat - es scheint, als wären
die Loranes schon immer da gewesen. Waren sie nicht mit Bill Haley auf Tour Hatten sie nicht mit den
Beatles im Star Club gespielt, vor Velvet Underground im Max's Kansas City und danach mit den Sex Pistols
im 100 Club In anderen Worten: Ganz unverkennbar geht's bei den Loranes um Rock, Lederjacken und
Sonnenbrillen, um eingängigen Garage-Rock, verzerrten Neo-Heavy-Blues und melodischen Psychedelic. Ihr
Debüt "Trust" wurde schnell, direkt, roh und ohne große Overdubs eingespielt und von der Band selbst
produziert. Es kratzt, fuzzt und riecht förmlich nach Keller und glühenden Röhrenverstärkern. Stilistisch
erinnert das Ganze an Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Oasis und natürlich Velvet
Underground. Was überhaupt nicht verkehrt ist, im Gegenteil! Denn obwohl sich auf "Trust" jede Menge
Querverweise in gut gefüllte und lang gepflegte Plattenkisten finden, lässt sich die Vintage-Hingabe der Band
kaum an einem Jahrzehnt festmachen. Das verleiht dem Album einen exklusiven Charakter.

The band released two albums in 2013 and received strong reviews. Debut album 'Horror at Pleasure' was released in April of that year on Devouter. Denis Belindir provided cosmos expanding synth on this brooding dark invitation through the woods of the mind. The album, as with all to date was recorded live at Drop out over the course of 3 days. The LP streams continuously combining raw power and claustrophobic psyche blues, coaxing and sometimes dragging the listener through its journey. Influences of Captain Beefheart, Aphrodite's Child, White Hills, Hawkwind and Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats can be heard:

Less than half a year later the band released 'My Fire' on Convoy records. This album found Dan Davies (Wolf people) joining to record a more experimental late night driving experience through psych-rock, Denis Belindir's distinctive Turkish tinged synth really taking the trip to different levels.
 
'I have been blown away by this promo twice today! Think Pink Floyd soundtrack work circa 1970 and Irmin Schmidt's incredible 3 album run of 'filmmusik' + 'Toy Planet' 1980-81. Yes THAT good! Third album, 'Take a Lover' is proudly released September 2015 through Riot Season records. After the sudden departure of Denis Belindir on synth, the band regrouped with a reinvigorated sound. Taking the experimentation of My Fire, the narcotic muscularity of Horror at Pleasure, this album represents a new chapter out of the woods and showing greater depth. With the arrival of Ben Tat on bass and baritone guitars, the band shares two common ancestors now: Elks and 85bears. The upcoming release reflects the sound of a lineup finding order through the entropy of extended jams and developing their sound. Recorded at Dropout studios by the band. Take a Lover is live and captures a stream of single takes from two days of winter, December 2014. It has become the catalyst to yet again prolific recording and sets the tone for where Early Mammal are going next.

KOWLOON WALLED CITY finally bring us their long-awaited new full-length. Grievances, their third album and first for Gilead Media & Neurot Recordings, finds the San Francisco band at its artistic peak, having moved even further away from its sludgy, post-hardcore origins and toward a sparser, noise-rock heaviness.

This shift began with 2012's Container Ships, which received universal praise from both listeners and writers. On Grievances, the band takes these elements to even greater extremes. The strings rattle. The guitars crackle and blister. The notes ring out turning bleak and beautiful — sometimes both at once.'We dug into this expansive, less distorted vibe. The songs are mostly slow and bummed out but we still want them to push, to have energy,' says vocalist/guitarist Scott Evans.

Evans, together with guitarist Jon Howell, bassist Ian Miller, and drummer Jeff Fagundes spent over two years working on the seven songs for Grievances. The intense editing process weeded out about
two albums' worth of material. Howell's unusual and discordant chord changes channel the familiar feel of angular indie rock. Miller's gritty bass adds a surprising layer of depth and melody, while Fagundes' drums resonate in what sounds like an impossibly large room. Evans' shouted vocals are raw with frustration and disappointment, but without the typical veneer of aggression.

The concept of work forms the thematic foundation of the entire record, from the cover art to the title and the lyrics. Whereas previous KOWLOON WALLED CITY releases were largely inspired by the
band's hometown of San Francisco, Grievances focuses its attention on our complex relationships with work and the power our employment — and employers — have over us.

As with KOWLOON WALLED CITY's previous releases, Evans engineered and mixed the album, starting at Sharkbite Studios and finishing at his own Antisleep Audio, both in Oakland. Griveances was mastered by Carl Saff.

Lycia's most collaborative release ever 'Features guest backing vocals by Michael Irwin , who is the first person I ever collaborated with (all the way back to either late 1981 or very early 1982). The song A Ghost Ascends is a re-envisioned version of a 1983 collaboration called Ghost In The Tower, which I wrote the music and Michael wrote the lyrics and sang. and never was recorded until ALTC.
