X Factor star Megan Burke has appeared on RTE's 'Class Act' and also sang live on 'Ireland Am' show and 'The Late Late show'. Megan has also reached the last 13 from singers from all over Ireland and UK for the 3 girl parts in the musical version of The Commitments in London's West End.

Megan Burke has been performing non stop since the age of 5, when she took her first Dance/Singing class. In her teens Megan always gravitated towards songs from the past with artists such as Aretha Franklin and Etta James being a huge influence. While Megan has performed on many stages, her biggest stage was Wembley arena for the UK X-Factor judges where she made it through to the bootcamp stages. Ex Destiny's child star Kelly Rowland told Megan 'you are a star' and that 'there is nowhere but UP from here' while Take That's Gary Barlow confessed 'I love you Megan'.

Dublin band 'Audiokiss' write snappy riff-laden pop tunes with a hard edge. Their album, "Really Kind of Moving" was re-released this year on CD and for download. This debut album contains their previously released singles "A Little Realisation" , "Bending Seas" and "Maybe". Super-session man Conor Brady co-produced the band's debut album at his Vicar Street Studios during late 2008. Conor has worked with Toots Hibbert and the Hodges brothers, Terence Trent D'Arby and The Corrs to name but a few. He also lent his guitar brilliance to several tracks.

The singles received considerable air-play in Ireland being play-listed on both regional and national radio-stations (including RTE). The album was also voted Album of the week by Roddie Cleere at WLR. See Appendix A for some reviews & comments on the album.The album was also featured on a 2-hour program on VOS FM in Holland (Autumn 2009).

Formed in 1967 by former Motions guitarist Robbie van Leeuwen, Shocking Blue was joined by Cor van der Beek (drums), Klaasje van der Wal (bass) and Mariska Veres as lead vocalist. In 1969 and 1970, the group set the airwaves crackling and enjoyed a worldwide chart success with 'Venus' (which incorporated the help of studio musician Cees Schrama of Casey & The Pressure Group [MOVLP1132]), followed by several other hit singles.

In 1972, they released their 6th album Attila, a solid Pop album written entirely by Van Leeuwen, anchored by Marika's powerful vocals. Her incredible range and control is at times compared with Jefferson Airplane's singer Grace Slick. Noteworthy tracks on Attila are 'Rock In The Sea', album opener 'Rattler' and the moody 'Wait'. This album is denitely worth picking up for a comprehensive view on Holland's biggest export product's early '70s output.

September 22nd sees the release of another very special limited DAVID BOWIE 7" picture disc release, the 40th anniversary edition of 'KNOCK ON WOOD (LIVE) / ROCK 'N' ROLL WITH ME (LIVE)'

Originally released in Autumn 1974 and taken from DAVID LIVE, these two 2005 mixes by Tony Visconti are making their vinyl debut.

The original DAVID LIVE single mix of KNOCK ON WOOD was a UK top 10, however the US went with
ROCK 'N' ROLL WITH ME also from DAVID LIVE in response to Donovan's recent cover version there.

The image used on the A-side of the picture disc is from the picture sleeve of the original French single whilst the AA-side features a rarely seen shot of Bowie from '74.

Black Diamond Bay are a Leeds based 7 piece playing what has been described as a 'seething, strutting motorik funk charge' by one eloquent journalist. Allying the drums and synths of electro with punishing bass and guitar riffs to compliment classical violins and sweet female harmonies, their music crosses many genres and yet despite defying easy definition.

With a shedload of Northern shows already under their belt and a rapidly growing fanbase they head into the summer with as series of festival appearances including The Big Chill coupled with regular London club shows. Already getting plays from Huw Stephens Radio 1, John Kennedy XFM and Tom Robinson 6Music Worship The Sun is a whirling dervish of a track with a hypnotic rythmn and an irrestistible chorus.

Eine auf den ersten Blick ungewöhnliche Entscheidung trafen die Broilers im Hinblick auf ihre zweite Singleauskopplung: Mit - Ich will hier nicht sein' fiel die Wahl auf eine für die Broilers, die eher für härtere Rockklänge bekannt sind, untypischere Nummer. Der bewegende Midtempo-Song hat es aber musikalisch und textlich in sich: - 'Ich will hier nicht sein' wurde geschrieben, nachdem wir im TV einen Beitrag gesehen haben, wo irgendwelche Freaks brüllend vor einem Flüchtlingsheim in Berlin Hellersdorf standen, was uns extrem angeekelt hat. Wie kann man glauben, dass ein Mensch freiwillig seine Heimat und seine Freunde verlässt Man stelle sich vor, wir müssten aus solchen Gründen Deutschland verlassen. Wollen wir im Exil so empfangen werden, von einer hasserfüllten Menge Glauben diese Leute, die Menschen kommen aus Spaß hierher zu uns Wir wollen nicht mit dem erhobenen Zeigefinger herumfuchteln. Aber dieses 'Musik ist Musik und Politik ist Politik' funktioniert für uns schon lange nicht mehr. Wir finden es wichtig, das Publikum dazu animieren, über manche Dinge nachzudenken. Wir wollen eine gewisse Sensibilität wecken', so die Broilers über den Inhalt des Liedes, das sich vom Start weg zu einem der Höhepunkte im Set ihrer derzeitigen Tournee entwickelt hat.

Neben dem Titelsong sind mit "An die Verlorenen" und "Ende in Tränen" noch zwei neue bisher unveröffentlichte Stücke enthalten, die nicht auf dem Studioalbum sind.

A cult icon, The Space Lady has been performing her delicate, celestial songs for over 30 years, this record marks her very first 'official' release.

The Space Lady began her odyssey on the streets of Boston in the late 70s, then San Francisco ten years later, playing versions of contemporary pop music with an accordion and dressed flamboyantly, transmitting messages of peace and harmony. Following the theft and destruction of her accordion , The Space Lady invested in a then-new Casio keyboard, complete with a phase shifter and headset mic, birthing an otherworldly new dimension to popular song that has captured the imaginations of the underground and its leading exponents ever since.
The legend of The Space Lady has continued to grow in the 21st century. Originally featured on Irwin Chusid's landmark 'outsider' compilation Songs In The Key Of Z, then on mixes by Erol Alkan and John Maus, this music has transcended genre, style and fashion, opening up hearts and minds along the way.
14 years ago The Space Lady packed away her Casio synth and silenced her distinctive voice, retiring from the streets of San Francisco. Now, more than 30 years after her initial forays on Haight-Ashbury Harvard Square and Haight Ashbury, she has surfaced with the first ever official release of her timeless, startling, haunting music and, even more remarkably, has re-started her live career. Now in Colorado, The Space Lady continues to spread her message of peace, harmony and love.

The 1979 release Jumpin' In The Night was the third and final album by the Flamin' Groovies on Sire Records. Continuing in the power pop vein of Shake Some Action and Now but with a bit more muscle and edge this album caps off the 70s in style with great original songs such as the title track and "First Plane Home", plus choice covers including Warren Zevon's "Werewolves Of London", Dylan's "Absolutely Sweet Marie" and The Byrds "5D". Reissued on 180 gram vinyl by 4 Men With Beards.

Following their rarities and singles compilation for the legendary US Sundazed label, The See See return with their third studio album capturing the bitter sweet aura of classic psychedelia.

Weaving Paisley Underground blushes (Featherman) with folk cosmic odes (400 Miles) 'Once Forever And Again' splashes a drenched rain parade of vocal harmonies atop ringing twelve string Mosrites, the two halves of the album split by the cherry blossom serenity of 'Sun Arrows'.

The See See are one of the UK's greatest best kept secrets though loved by fellow bliss poppers as Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub), Ric Menck (Velvet Crush) and Sid Griffin (Long Ryders). They also have a fondness for collaborating with like minded souls. A rework of one of their recent songs was released last year with Jim Noir on vocals and 'Jenny Said' on this album is a track that Nick Power from the Coral kindly donated to them.

Into the Light Records continue to shine light on the undiscovered heritage of Greek electronic music, highlighting the work of prolific Greek composer George Theodorakis on the label's third archival release. "The Rules of the Game" features mostly unreleased studio recordings Theodorakis made between 1978 and 1996, with the addition of selected material taken from his sought-after 'Margo' and 'Sima' LPs.
George Theodorakis is the son of legendary Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. Unlike his father, George only released four albums - pressed in small quantities - over a period of time spanning nearly two decades. Despite such limited official output, Theodorakis was intensely involved in music. George has always had the privilege of owning a well equipped home studio - the SSR Studio (1976-1984) and later the Theta Studio (1985-1987, 1993-1997) - where he'd spend most of his days working, often completely losing all track of time. These studios provided the ideal environment where he could explore new synthesized sounds and freely experiment. Although Theodorakis' music can be considered reclusive, esoteric and personal - especially if measured against the standards of most Greek productions of the same time - a number of his compositions found their way into the soundtracks of theatre plays, TV series, dance performances, etc.

Theodorakis' work was probably too forward-looking to meet with wider success and appeal to a broad audience back then; "The Rules of the Game" hopes to finally earn the composer the attention and acclaim his music undoubtedly deserves.

Späti Palace is a new Berlin based record label supporting Berlin based bands. SIDE A comes from SKIING is an alternative-pop trio, informed by 50s rock 'n roll as it is by modern alternative bands such as Pavement, The Breeders, The Pastels and Teenage Fanclub. SIDE B: Pick of what influences you want to tag them CLASSIC MUSCLE (Swell Maps, Pixies, The Feelies, Low) the classic, reverb-laden vocal, messy yet ultimately melodic guitars backed with tight drums and bass, these boys tick all the right boxes, it's simply classic in every sense.

Black Dub is the debut album by the Daniel Lanois- instigated collaboration Black Dub. The quartet, comprised of producer Daniel Lanois on guitar and vocals, jazz drummer extraordinaire Brian Blade, session bassist Daryl Johnson, and vocalist/keyboardist Trixie Whitley (daughter of the late great Chris Whitley) make a beguiling, seductive music that blurs Rock, Soul, Blues, gothic Americana, New Orleans Funk, and dubwise Reggae.

The band generated significant excitement when they released stark, black-and-white videos of their rehearsals and leaked concert footage from a show at Bowery Ballroom in New York. All songs on Black Dub are written by Lanois, save for two, the group effort 'Last Time' and the song 'Ring The Alarm' written by Tenor Saw. The ballads 'I Believe in You,' 'Surely,' 'Silverado,' and 'Nomad' are stellar showcases for Whitley's deeply soulful contralto. She rises above the band and soars, delivering these lyrics as if they are her own; she goes straight to the heart of the listener with that voice, regardless of genre.

Caravanserai is the fourth studio album by Santana released in October 1972. It marked a major turning point in Carlos Santana's career as it was a sharp departure from his critically acclaimed first three albums. Caravanserai reached number eight in the Billboard 200 chart and number six in the R&B Albums chart.

The sound contrasted greatly with Santana's trademark fusion of Salsa, Rock, and Jazz, and concentrated mostly on jazz-like instrumental passages. All but three tracks were instrumentals, and consequently the album yielded no hit singles. The album is the first among a series of Santana albums that were known for their increasing musical complexity, marking a move away from the popular rock format of the early Santana albums towards a more contemplative and experimental jazz sound.

It was the last Santana album to feature Gregg Rolie and Neal
Schon, who went on to form Journey the following year.

Heaven After Midnight is the third studio album of Waylon, the Dutch singer-songwriter who's also enjoyed a stint as part of the Common Linnets duo with Ilse DeLange. The Common Linnets [MOVLP1129] were runners up on the Eurovision Song Festival, with the song 'Calm After The Storm'. Waylon's solo album Heaven After Midnight was written in Nashville and recorded at the legendary Capitol Studios in Hollywood. The album contains among others the singles 'Giving Up Easy' en 'Love Drunk'.

Several songs on Heaven After Midnight were cowritten by Rob Crosby, who's worked with Ilse DeLange before and wrote songs for Carl Perkins, Paul Simon and Lady Antebellum.

Science-fiction, Italian B-movies, Psychedelia, Egyptian mythology, Sicilian landscapes " among others - all play their part throughout Condoro's 10 pieces. Keyboardist/singer/composer Julien Lesuisse (Mazalda) and drummer Anthony Charreau (Les Pythons De La Fournaise) are exploring here a variety of moods and sounds based around themes and motifs, with a dramatic/cinematic, yet humorous and light-hearted spirit.

London rippers the GAGGERS burst on the scene a few years ago with a gaggle of 7' that went in and out of print in a heartbeat. Dead Beat Records released the debut fulllength LP 'Rip You Apart' that screeched through 12 loud, fast and grimy scuzz punk classics that use snarling bouncy riffs and lewd, crude lyrics to carve out supremely awesome, mangled, degenerate sounds. Earlier this year, the band much-anticipated second fulllength 'Blame You' was released in Europe on Wanda Records and will get the American treatment this Autumn courtesy of Modern Action Records. For Fans of Rock N Roll, Glam, Bubblegum, Garage, and everything in between... Wild Billy Childish & CTMF are back with a new 7' with 2 exclusive tracks. 'Punk Rock Enough For Me' is the A-side, it's a classic Childish composition giving you a long list of things that are 'Punk Rock' enough for him. The B-side features Ju Ju on lead vocals and it's a proper 1977 punk romp, reminiscent of Alternative TV at their best. This will be a limited edition pressing on Brown vinyl.
They are currently recording a few more tracks for their third album 'Acorn Man' which will be out on Damaged Goods later this year.

Hiatus Kaiyote is the sound of serendipity. Every so often a band comes along that captures the collective imagination, a band that has all the essential elements in place to become a musical movement.
The music of Hiatus Kaiyote strikes the perfect note merging poetry and polyrhythms. Hiatus Kaiyote has a style that can't be easily pinpointed. Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Tupac Shakur, Flying Lotus, traditional amenco and music from Mali and Colombia have inuenced the group. We could call it 'Future Soul'. On the band's debut album Tawk Tomahawk (2012) it's as if the vast desert landscape has opened up, borrowing ingredients from far- reaching lands to concoct a distinctive avor that is the essence of all its parts. Each song whispers of delicious, ancient stories untold.

Stereogum singled out Hiatus Kaiyote as a 'Band to Watch.' Gilles Peterson named them the Breakthrough Artist of 2013. 'Questlove and Erykah Badu have gone out of their way to promote the band. Seine Kindheit verbrachte Frontmann Van McCann weit entfernt von der Langeweile der nordwalisischen Kleinstadt Llandudo, wo die Band später zusammen fand. Als Kind weltoffener Eltern erlebte er seine ersten Jahre auf dem Rücksitz eines Autos, die endlosen Weiten Australiens bereisend. Seine späteren Bandkollegen Billy Bibby (Gitarre), Benji Blakeway (Bass) und Bob Hall (Drums) lernte er schließlich kennen, als er mit seinen Eltern nach Llandudo zurückkehrte und dort die Schule besuchte, von der er aber wegen ständigen Fehlens bald wieder geworfen wurde.
Obwohl Catfish & The Bottlemen nach wie vor in Llandudno ihre Heimat haben, spiegelt sich in ihrer aktuell ziemlich improvisierten Wohnsituation wieder, dass die Band die letzten anderthalb Jahre fast komplett 'on the road' verbracht hat. Die Gruppe hat einen Proberaum in einem Bed & Breakfast, und da sich das Paar, welches das Hotel führt, schnell als Fans der Band entpuppte, dürfen die Vier dort gratis leben - so lang sie weiter zusammen Musik machen. So ziehen sie von Zimmer zu Zimmer, wann immer sie zurück in ihrer alten Stadt sind. Stets dorthin, wo gerade etwas frei ist.

Catfish And The Bottlemen liefern mit 'Kathleen' einen Vorgeschmack auf ihr im Spätsommer erscheinendes Debüt-Album, das sie mit Ian Grimble in den legendären Rockfield Studios aufgenommen haben. Im September kann man die Jungs auf dem 'First We Take Berlin Festival' erleben.

Hareton Salvanini started the group with his brother Ayreton in the 1970s. M.E.T.A were a theatrical movement based in Campinas (in the Sao Paulo State).

M.E.T.A was an acronym of Movimento Evolução De Teatro E Arte; Movement / Evolution / Theatre / Art. It wasn't a traditional music group, with M.E.T.A performing numerous musicals primarily focussing on subjects close to their hearts - liberation, freedom and youth. Their modus operandi was to experiment with different ideas in an attempt to create a new voice that represented their ideals.

Paulo Pugoiese composed the EP with Hareton & Ayerton also composing and writing lyrics. Paulo conducted the Sinfonica Campinas Orchestra and this was

the orchestra of the City Cidade Do Campina. It was that connection that enabled them to be able to afford an entire string section for the tracks. The

group who played on the recording only every played in a studio. They were never a live band.

Leah Fay und Peter Dreimanis sind die theatralischen, rauen Stimmen von July Talk.

Die fünfköpfige Band aus Toronto, die es seit 2012 gibt, wird durch den Gitarristen Ian Docherty, den Bassisten Josh Warburton und den Drummer Danny Miles ergänzt. Gemeinsam schreiben und spielen, filmen und bearbeiten sie jede einzelne Sekunde von Film und Musik, die unter dem Namen July Talk realisiert wird. Im Grunde liegt der Schwerpunkt dieser kreativen Produktion auf der Ästhetik von Gegensätzen. Gegensätze, die leicht durch die zwei Sänger der Band veranschaulicht werden. Dreimanis kommt vom Land, Fay aus der Stadt, er singt Bariton und ist ein Poser, sie dagegen reizbar, aber zurückhaltend. Einen, den man nicht ignorieren kann und bei der anderen ist man hingegen froh sie bemerkt zu haben. Wie es sich herausstellt, haben sich die beiden fast verpasst.

Diese Stimme wurde von den Produzenten der amerikanischen TV-Show Walking Dead so sehr geschätzt, dass sie ein raues Cover von Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Bad Moon Rising' in Auftrag gaben. Peter's heisere Stimme charakterisiert sich durch diese sich langsam aufbauende Dynamik.

Die Videos der Band sind ebenso dramatisch. Der Kurzfilm, der den Song Summer Dress begleitet, gibt einen flüchtigen Eindruck in die explosiven Live-Shows und zeigt auch die Präzision, mit der sich die Band präsentiert. Es sind Schwarzweiß-Aufnahmen. Wunderschön beleuchtet. Sexy. Wie eine wilde Calvin Klein Werbung. Im Grunde genommen wird die sprudelnde Energie der beiden Frontleute gezeigt.

Im März diesen Jahres waren July Talk neben Bands wie Arcade Fire bei den Juno Awards (Canada's Gegenstück zu den Grammys) nominiert. Der Auftritt bei der Gala zeigte einen Einblick in die explosiven, aus dem Gleichgewicht geratenen Live-Shows, die sie von den kleinen, verschwitzten 500-Mann Venues auf die größten Bühnen von Kanada's Festivals gebracht haben. Diese Show werden sie in die UK zum ersten Mal nach London und zum Dot to Dot Festival holen.

Mit der Ankunft des heiß erwarteten neuen Studioalbums The Ocean At The End ruft das ehrwürdige kanadische Rock-Trio The Tea Party offiziell das Ende einer zehnjährigen Dürre aus, in der kein frisches

Material das Licht der Welt erblickte. Mit The Black Sea, einem brillanten Track vom elf Songs umfassenden neuen Werk, beendet das elektrisierende Trio aus Jeff Martin (Vocals, Gitarre, Produzent, Songwriter), Stuart Chatwood (Bass, Keyboard) und Jeff Burrows (Drums, Percussion) nun seinen Zyklus der Wiederauferstehung - es ist das erste neue Material seit dem 2004er Seven Circles-Album und ihre erste Veröffentlichung seit dem Doppelalbum Live From Australia: The Reformation Tour 2012.

Produziert und arrangiert von Martin, gemixt vom Grammy-Award-gekrönten David Bottrill (Rush, Muse,Peter Gabriel, Tool) und zum Großteil im Revolution Recording Studio in Toronto aufgenommen, enthält The Ocean At The End das wohl geradlinigste Material in der Karriere von The Tea Party. Als Gastmusiker konnten Aline Morales (Percussions) und Jethro Tulls Ian Anderson gewonnen werden.
