After almost exactly two years and more than 300 concerts worldwide, the band "HONIG" releases it's new album "It's Not A Hummingbird, It's Your Father's Ghost" on the 22 August 2014 across Europe, through Haldern Pop Recordings/Rough Trade. Now they play folk-pop for the bigger stages, and fear neither grandiosity nor sensitivity. "Lemon Law" is the first single from the album. As a B-Side you get a live-version of "Overboard".

Peripheral Minimal is proud to announce the new 7" by Irish duo KuBO, who consist of: Aidan Casserly (also of synth act Empire State Human), and Brian O'Malley (also of Polydroid).

This will be the first vinyl release by the band, after the initial tape single I Dream Electric, onManchester based label Vocoder Tapes. KuBO pay homage to Cubo-Futurism, the early 20th Century Russian art movement which concerned itself with contemporary concepts of the future and the technological triumph of humanity over nature.

KuBO's futuristic synth stylings perfectly fit their nom de guerre. For lazy comparisons think of 80s synth protagonists, O.M.D and Depeche Mode or even Associates, owing to Aidan's beautifully soaring soulful vocals. But KuBO are more than that, they create wonderfully melancholic Minimal Synth, that's highly emotive, able to fill dance floors and act as cerebral fodder simultaneously. A full length album will follow this release in the not too distant future. Plug in and tune out, you won't be disappointed.

British trio Little Barrie — the group with the unrivalled, trademark blend of rock, blues, garage and soul flavours — are back with their fourth album 'Shadow,' and sounding better than they ever have.

The three-piece of writer-guitarist Barrie Cadogan, bassist Lewis Wharton and drummer Virgil Howe, have slowly and surely been honing their sound and maturing their style since the group's debut on record all of 15 years ago. 'Shadow' is the super-cool and confident sound of a band at the top of their game, full of brooding self-confidence, brilliantly combining texture and liveness.

The album again sees Little Barrie working with their longtime mentor Edwyn Collins, who co-produced 'Shadow' at his West Heath studio with the band and engineer Seb Lewsley. Never ones to sit on their laurels or make the same record twice, the band build on the raw energy of their last album 'King of the Waves,' released in the UK in 2011, on an album that takes them somewhere entirely new.

'Shadow' arrives three years after the band reached new levels of acclaim and recognition with 'King of the Waves,' to scenes of fan mania in Japan and national and international touring. The relaxed urgency of the sound is inspired by Cadogan's recent work with Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Damo Suzuki (Can), Andrew Weatherall and Pete Molinari.

If Chuck Rio circa 1957 took his Champs to visit the Land of the Rising Sun, they'd probably find their usual tipple in short supply. No Tequila in sight, so what's the next best thing Hot Saki of course, and Eddie Atwood's knockabout, Far-Eastern exotica romp would be their soundtrack.

This limited edition (300 copies) compilation of Jungle Exotica comes as a 10-inch vinyl EP housed in a fantastic hand-made heavy carton sleeve with great artwork by Marcel Bontempi. Featured artists are The Incredible Bongo Band, Duke Mitchell, Mickey Baker, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Preston Epps, Eddie Silver & Orchestra, The Dixiebelles with Cornbread & Jerry, Dave Clark Five, and The Lincoln Trio.

Bear's Den release their new single, Elysium on 21st July on Communion Records/Caroline. Their strongest song to date, Elysium is an elegiac paean to the redemptive power of friendship and the song that marks the point Bear's Den go from best kept secret to your new favourite band. 

Elysium is backed by three live recordings of tracks from previous EPs Agape and Without/Within (Don't Let The Sun Steal You Away, Isaac and Sophie, all recorded live at the Brixton Electric on 13th May 2014).

Bear's Den are Andrew Davie (guitar, vocals), Joey Haynes (guitar), and Kev Jones (drums, bass). Since forming in 2012, the London based trio have built a fervent fanbase through their live shows and a dedicated DIY aesthetic that originally saw them self-fund tours and sell hand printed CDs direct to fans at gigs.

In two short years, Andrew, Joey and Kev quietly went from pub shows to a jaw dropping headline gig at the Brixton Electric in front of 1500 people. Their appearance at Mumford & Sons' Summer Stampede saw them play in front of a 60,000 strong, sold out crowd in London's newly landscaped Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. In the US, the band played support tours with Mumford and Sons and Daughter and festival shows on the Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover Tour in both the US and Canada. The band have also won the latest Momentum Deezer Award, given to them by the PRS for Music Foundation and Deezer.

Following on from their two acclaimed EPs on Communion Records, Bear's Den are currently working on their debut album in a North London studio. It is due for release in the autumn.

Following hot on the stack heels of ROCK 'N' ROLL SUICIDE and 1984 being released for Record Store Day, June 23rd brings another very special limited DAVID BOWIE 7" picture disc release, the 40th anniversary edition of DIAMOND DOGS.

Originally released in June 1974 DIAMOND DOGS was the second single to be taken from the album of the same name with REBEL REBEL being the first, the ground breaking six minute track was originally backed by the re-recording of Holy Holy.

For its fortieth anniversary it will be a double A side with the DAVID LIVE 2005 mix by Tony Visconti making its vinyl debut.

The image on the A side of the picture disc is an outtake from the famous session shot by photographer Terry O'Neill and the AA side features a previously unseen image from the 1974 US tour.

The History Of Apple Pie are set to release their second album on Marshall Teller Records on the 29th of September 2014.

'Feel Something' is the follow up to last year's 'Out Of View' debut, which saw the London five-piece propelled into the spotlight - hitting No. 8 in the UK Indie Breakers Chart, No. 2 in the UK Record Store Chart and winning fans the world over with their infectious fuzzed-out candied pop sound.

The new album features ten brand new tracks including the piano-laden lead single 'Tame' and last year's surf-rock referencing 'Don't You Wanna Be Mine' - originally released on limited edition clear 7' vinyl. The LP edition also includes bonus track 'Shake' featuring guest vocals from Gary Jarman of The Cribs.

Recorded over the last few months at Sublime Studios in London, like it's predecessor, it was again produced and engineered by the band's Jerome Watson with additional engineering by Joshua Third of The Horrors and Charles Reeves.

Formed three years ago, The History Of Apple Pie line up is centered around the songwriting partnership of Stephanie Min (Vocals) and Jerome Watson (Guitar) together with James Thomas (Drums), Aslam Ghauri (Guitar) and new recruit to the band Joanna Curwood (bass).

The band, who played last year's CMJ Festival in New York, are set to announce UK and European Tours to coincide with the album release.

This ultra-rare and almost totally unknown LP was the second ever to be released by Help, a small record label that didn't last long, known to the Italian progressive rock collectors thanks to bands like Quella Vecchia Locanda and Procession. Thanks to the liaison with the Austrian producer Eddy Korsche, the same label released some German artists' records, together with this 'Plays Eddy Korsche - Rock & Blues', made by gathering together some session musicians as with Blue Phantom or Braen's Machine.

The main characteristic of this album is its groove that emerges from each of its 12 tracks, some of them sounding like a perfect accompaniment to a car chase typical of some police movie of those years. The real protagonist here is the Hammond organ, dosed in a huge quantity in every song, both as a leading than a backing instrument: Hammond and guitar often exchange

their roles, while drums and bass guitar offer a solid rhythmic ground. 'Plays Eddy Korsche...' has also a terrific sonic production, really clear and heavy for a 1970 release. 180gr black vinyl edition, for collectors and audiophiles!

THIS IS A COMPILATION OF THE ROLLING STONES STUDIO SESSIONS IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER. Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman started their sessions at I.B.C. Studios, 35, Portland Place close to Regent Street in London where the LP cover picture was taken in the early 1963. The first six tracks were recorded between the 28th of January & the 2nd of February. Come On/I Want To Be Loved is their first 7' recorded at Olympic in London on 10th May. In the hot summer of 1963, between July and August, they recorded at the Decca Studios Poison Ivy, It Should Be, Fortune Teller. On 14th and 15th September they were in Kingsway, London for their first EP with You Better Move On, Bye, Bye, Johnny and Money. Then they came back to the I.B.C. Studios on 5th October to record: Come On, Memphis Tennessee, Roll Over Beethoven and I Just Want To Make Love To You. Two days later, in Kingsway, they recorded the last two songs of this compilation.

Kyuss, Slo Burn, Unida, Hermano, Vista Chino - wo auch immer John Garcia seine Finger im Spiel hatte, stellte sich alsbald Erfolg ein. After their BBC Sound of 2014 nomination and the recent NME Awards tour, Royal Blood's rise continues with release of the new single 'Come On Over'. The track was Radio 1's Hottest Record and the duo made their first ever appearance on Later... with Jools Holland on Tuesday 22nd April.

Encapsulating their ferocious, bluesy bass and drums groove, 'Come On Over' blisters with an immediate intensity that matches their recent breakthrough singles 'Out of the Black' and 'Little Monster'. Follow up single 'Figure It Out' is set for release Monday 18th August.

A label designed to push the underground to a new level of electronic sound through experimental styles of musical consciousness. In our recent releases the idea is to never go with the same formula twice...

This is why we emerge for our second release of 2014 with a 10" by long-time Nation affiliate Beau Wanzer.
Four sedated tunes. Subtle and not so subtle frequencies drag aside gloomed out rhythms and beat less malfunctions.

'Power Outage' slithers along a marching waltz undercurrent of frizzled out electronics accompanied by broken spectral voices.

'Fabrics' is a malformed hollow arpeggio interlude that worms across the floor.

'Lotraf' is a demented rhythm track with an odd sense of urgency, underneath blankets of weird home movies.

'Thurston Moog' is a contorted synth jam, built upon various recordings and manipulating them into a mesh of guttural tones.

It's the track that perhaps best captures the spirit of the band's third LP, LOSE, one of coping with abject loss and grief by rediscovering what you've always loved, as difficult as it may be—the redemptive power of music. For D'Agostino, this entailed coming to terms with his best friend and musical collaborator Benjamin High, who passed away suddenly seven years ago, just as Cymbals Eat Guitars began recording in earnest. 'LOSE is a very apropos title because it refers not only to losing Ben, but also it's about a sort of nostalgia, a longing for a time when music meant everything to you and your friends, and it seemed like one great rock record could change everyone's life the way it changed yours,' says D'Agostino. 'It's about being in mourning for your long-held belief that music could literally change the world. That's the contradiction at the heart of LOSE... You're disillusioned, but somehow you can do nothing else but rail against that feeling mightily and try, once again, to make a record that makes you and everyone else 'wake up wanting to listen to records'.' And indeed, the band, rounded out by bassist Matthew Whipple, keyboardist Brian Hamilton, and drummer Andrew Dole, alongside producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Kurt Vile), do little wallowing. This is a raucous affair, an Irish Wake, ultimately rooted in nothing less than a celebration of just being alive. What's perhaps most impressive about LOSE is the manner in which D'Agostino comes clean with his emotions, tackling seemingly ineffable mourning without equivocation. 'There are no $5 words that you'll have to pull up dictionaryfor... some of the lyrics are directly confessional. Very open, no obfuscation,' he explains. 'I lost my dear friend a while ago and I've sort of been addressing it in song for most of my career, though you probably couldn't really tell until now. It's just a direct expression of grief. Dead & Gone is the first track taken from the debut album by TOY.
The only way you can hear this epic album highlight ahead of the full length in September is on 12. The track was recorded during the spring of 2012 with Dan Carey in his South London studio as part of the album sessions. Toy played a 4-week residency at the Shacklewell Arms in London in January, and their U.K. headline tour April culminated in a sold-out show at London's XOYo. They recently played at this year's Field Day Festival, supported Primal Scream on a number of Scottish dates and are set to play further festival dates over the summer as well as another headline U.K. tour in the autumn following the release of the album.

TOY have announced details of the release of a new single. Make it Mine will be released through Heavenly Recordings on Monday 26th November 2012.

The single is taken from their self-titled debut album which was released on 10th September.

Released as a 12' and download it also will also feature a Richard Fearless remix of Drifting Deeper alongside 2 unreleased tracks, Live Electronics and She's Over My head.

Ursprünglich als Soloprojekt von Kavus Torabi konzipiert, wurde Knifeworld 2009 mit der Veröffentlichung des Debütalbums Buried Alone: Tales Of Crushing Defeat ins Leben gerufen.

The Unravelling ist die erste Aufnahme des gesamten achtköpfigen Line-Ups. Traditionelle Rock-Instrumente werden hier mit männlichen und weiblichen Gesangsharmonien, Fagotten, Saxophonen, Tasteninstrumenten und Streichern angereichert. Typischerweise verwendet Torabi psychedelische, polyrhythmische Arrangements, die er mit eindringlichen Pop-Hooks koppelt, die so gewagt wie unvorhersehbar sind.

Ursprünglich als Soloprojekt von Kavus Torabi konzipiert, wurde Knifeworld 2009 mit der Veröffentlichung des Debütalbums Buried Alone: Tales Of Crushing Defeat ins Leben gerufen.

The Unravelling ist die erste Aufnahme des gesamten achtköpfigen Line-Ups. Traditionelle Rock-Instrumente werden hier mit männlichen und weiblichen Gesangsharmonien, Fagotten, Saxophonen, Tasteninstrumenten und Streichern angereichert. Typischerweise verwendet Torabi psychedelische, polyrhythmische Arrangements, die er mit eindringlichen Pop-Hooks koppelt, die so gewagt wie unvorhersehbar sind.

Ein musikalisch kaleidoskopischer 8-Song-Zyklus, durchzogen von Melancholie, Bedauern und Verlust. Wie eine Explosion in einer Säurefabrik, erweist sich The Unravelling als einzigartig, jenseitig und unverfroren.

Midnight Masses wurde im Frühjahr 2008 von Autry Fulbright und Jason Reece gegründet, nachdem kurz zuvor Autrys Vater verstorben war.

Innerhalb kürzester Zeit wurden Midnight Masses von einem Schlafzimmer-Projekt zu einem Multimedia-Kollektiv aus Musikern, Filmemachern und Grafikern, zu dem auch Jason Reece beitrug, sofern er nicht mit And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead beschäftigt war.

Die Band lag dann eine bestimmte Zeit auf Eis und Autry steckte seine gesamte Energie in das Schreiben und Aufnehmen des neuen Albums als Vollzeitmitglied von Trail of Dead. 2013 wurden Midnight Masses mit den Bandmittgliedern Jason Reece, Eric Rogers und Peter Hale (von Here We Go Magic) wiederbelebt. Ebenfalls mit von der Partie waren die neuen Produzenten Ian Longwell von Santigold und Jamie Miller von Trail of Dead und The START.

Das Album ist nicht nur dem Tod Autrys Vaters oder seines Produzenten und Freundes Gerrard Smith gewidmet, sondern auch dem Leben, welches Fulbright seitdem als Nomade führt. Während seiner Reisen schrieb er unablässig Songs und verstreute dabei Teile der Asche seines Vaters an verschiedensten Plätzen der Welt. Das Album ist daher ganz dem Thema 'Verlust' gewidmet, egal, ob es dabei um den Tod, die Liebe oder den eigenen Verstand geht.

Mit ihrem achten Album Instrument, dem Nachfolger zum 2010er Speculation (Domino), kehrt To Rococo Rot zu City Slang zurück.
Die Platte ist ein Meilenstein für die Band, nach sieben Platten ohne einen Song im konventionellen Sinne haben To Rococo Rot nun zum ersten Mal einen Abstecher in die Welt der Nicht-Instrumentalmusik gewagt. Der legendäre Klangkünstler, No Wave-Pionier, Bossa Nova Erneuerer und Allroundtalent Arto Lindsay bereichert drei Tracks mit seinen sanften, zurückgenommenen Gesangsmelodien und eröffnet auf diese Weise völlig neue Perspektiven. Lindsays gelassener und unaufgeregter Gesang passt perfekt zu der Ästhetik von To Rococo Rot, entführt sie aber auch in bisher ungewohntes Terrain, mitunter sogar in poppige Sphären.
