TOO TANGLED are an indie-wave-rock duo hailing from Ghent, Belgium. Roeland Vandemoortele (Vox, Guitar, Drumbeats) and Eva Buytaert (Vox, Violin, Keys) formed Too Tangled 5 years ago, and have since released their debut album 'The Magic Got Killed' (2010, a.o. nr 1 in OOR magazine underground top 5) and their 2nd album 'Where the echoes die' (2012, a.o. Made In Japan gilt als eines der größten Live-Alben der Rock-Geschichte. In einer Abstimmung unter den Lesern des Rolling Stone-Magazins erreichte es 2012 Platz 6 der Besten Livealben aller Zeiten.

Aufgenommen wurde Made In Japan bei drei Konzerten zwischen dem 15. und 17. August 1972 in der Festival Hall, Osaka, und im Nippon-Budokan, Tokio. Die Veröffentlichung war ursprünglich nur für den japanischen Markt gedacht. Vier Titel stammen vom Album Machine Head von 1972, mit ihrer im Fan-Konsens besten Besetzung, bestehend aus Ian Gillan (Vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (Gitarren), Roger Glover (Bass), Jon Lord (Orgel, Keys) und Ian Paice (Drums).

Neben Led Zeppelin und Black Sabbath sind Deep Purple die wichtigste Band des britischen Hardrocks und Heavy Metals der 1970er und eine der einflussreichsten und bedeutendsten Gitarrenbands der Musikgeschichte. Sleaford Mods started around 2006 in Nottingham by Jason Williamson. Born out of frustration and by accident, it quickly found its feet as an aggressive attack on all that is contrived and connected to the day-to-day hammer of low paid employment. After a year in the studio and gigs around Nottingham, Jason then took the cause to London for a period and eventually back to Nottingham in 2009 where he met Andrew Fearn, who became nvolved with the production of the 5th album, Wank. He also became the second member.
On Wank's release, Jason and Andrew were offered a slot on the bill of The Rammel Club's 3 day festival which introduced Jason to the Noise scene, so to speak, and also to Steve Underwood from the punk label, Harbinger Sound. A year later Harbinger Sound released Sleaford Mods first vinyl album, Austerity Dogs, and it immediately took off with a string of gigs in Europe and major cities in the UK along with side articles in leading music magazines The Wire, Fact and Vice as well as countless fanzines. The second album from Harbinger sound is due to be released later this year and also two 7" releases from Fourth Dimension Records and Kraak's home label are due in the meantime. Tours to promote these are currently underway with more planned. 'Mr. Jolly Fucker' b/w 'Tweet Tweet Tweet' sees the duo continuing their sometimes raucous yet always edgy melding of mean hip-hop beats, often savage poetic observations (think whizzed-out Mark E, Smith) and snarling punk attitude. A full-on kick to the senses inspired by the Sex Pistols, The Last Poets and '60s garage and soul music.

Simon MacHale is an Irish solo artist with a rich and quirky musical past. A former guitarist with Annette Buckley, MacHale formed a duo in 2008 (Quasimodal) before touring Ireland and Israel. More recently he has been singing choral music between Dublin and Switzerland and picked up 1st prize in the Sean O Riada Composition Competition in 2010. He has recently begun his solo career having built up a bank of material from the age of 14.


Simon's songs blend classical training with an intuitive instinct for pop hooks. Carefully crafted melodies and close vocal harmonies feature prominently, and the influence of folk, pop and classical music can be heard in equal measure. He has been a long time collaborator with fellow Cork-born songwriter Annette Buckley (often performing live together) with whom he shares a passion for modal melancholy.


Words are drawn from a range of sources - Simon's own lyrics are complemented by settings of poets like William Blake and Robert Louis Stevenson, as well as the poems of his sister Catherine MacHale.

Black City ist eine dänische Rockgruppe, die im Herbst 2009 in Aarhus von Bjørn Poulsen (Gesang, Gitarre), Kristian Klærke (Gitarre), Jakob Bjørn Hansen (Schlagzeug) und Torleik Mortensen (Bass) gegründet wurde. Schon ein Jahr später veröffentlichten sie ihr erstes Album. Mit "Summertime" hatte das Album eine Hitsingle und Touren u.a. mit AC/DC folgten in Skandinavien. Das Quartett hat sich für das vorliegende Folgealbum richtig Zeit gelassen und das war gut so ! Entstanden ist ein von Kraft strotzendes Rock-Album ! REAL ROCK und kein Gepose. Kas Produkt was a key figure in the French scene at the beginning 80s. They proved it was possible to sing in English and have success in other countries but they are also responsible for the birth of an electronic-pop scene. From Nancy (the home-town of both Kas Produkt and OTO) Candidate emerges in 1983. The boy/girl duo (the same formula as Kas Produkt) released their first cassette (to be reissued on vinyl by desire later this year) in 1984 on Permis De Construire (Nox, Geinst Naït, Muslimgauze, Zero Kama...) to be shortly followed by a split 7'' with Gangrène. In 1987 they released their debut (and olny) album for local label Dum Dum Records. 'Side By Side' was really well received and the band played a lot of gigs to support it in France, Belgium, Switzerland and even Poland (more than 100 concerts during their career). 'Side By Side' is now reissued for the first time and has been entirely remastered by Anders Post. For fans of Deux, Moderne, Kas Produkt, Martin Dupont, Dark Day...

Vor etwas mehr als drei Jahren führt eine nassforsche Anfrage von Schlagzeuger Christoffer Østergaard zur Buchung eines Konzerts im dänischen Silkeborg. Das Problem: Christoffer hat zu dem Zeitpunkt weder eine Band, noch einen Bandnamen. Am gleichen Abend gründet er mit seinen Freunden die Band, um 2 Wochen (!) später die bereits zugesagte Show zu spielen. Der Rest ist mittlerweile dänische Erfolgsgeschichte. Die Band mit dem Namen GO GO BERLIN geht mit THE BLUE VAN auf Tour in Dänemark und wird anschließend von fast jeder Venue dieser Tour kontaktiert, um für eine Headliner Show zurück zu kehren. Alleine 2013 spielten Go Go Berlin über 80 Konzerte, darunter die größten Festivals Dänemarks wie ROSKILDE, SPOT, SMUKFEST und JELLING Festival. Ihr Debütalbum "New Gold" erschien im Herbst 2013 in Dänemark und kletterte in der ersten Woche auf Platz 5 der heimischen Albumcharts. Das Quintett aus Aarhus sieht aus, als käme es direkt aus den Siebzigern und auch musikalisch ruft es Erinnerungen an jene Zeit wach. Of the eight records Live Skull released throughout the 1980s, Cloud One is probably the one most often cited as the definitive LS album. This was the record that fine-tuned the band's sound, transforming the polarizing power of the original No Wave into music that got under your skin and stayed there. A tightly-knit collection of songs and anti-songs years ahead of its time, Cloud One's chaos-scrambled hooks were a direct influence on the later breakthrough projects of Sonic Youth and Swans, Live Skull's co- conspirators in the so-called "noise scene" that emerged out of New York City in those years.

Cloud One captures Live Skull at a creative peak, with the band generating a profusion of arresting sounds and ideas via the most basic rock and roll vocabulary: bass, drums and two traditionally tuned guitars. The resulting record, an inexplicably seductive song cycle that filters art through the nasty mood swings of rock, was something radically new for 1986. Nearly thirty years on, Cloud One remains a transcendent musical hybrid as mysterious as it is memorable.

The punk icon's first ever solo release, & the first offering is titled, Meet The Foetus/ Oh The Joy and it s the ambitious, centrepiece of the forthcoming album. It s a song about creating life and was responsible for kicking the whole album process off again for Brody. And if you listen carefully you can hear, good friend Shirley Manson (Garbage) and Emily Kokal (Warpaint) lending a hand on backing vocals.
Brody Dalle spent a year writing, playing, recording and co-producing her first solo album, a riotous blast of punk rock with a pop sheen that storms through ideas about the modern age, triumphing against the odds and even spirituality. She co-produced everything with Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Them Crooked Vultures, Mark Lanegan) at his studio, and at her and husband Josh Homme's studio Pink Duck, both in California. I've always had a hand in crafting how it's going to sound and hearing it and trying to make that happen. But it's the first time I've put my name on something for production , she says of the release. Amazingly, she wrote all the songs and played almost all the instruments you can hear on the album save for a few incredible guests.

Enigmatic DFA-affiliated producer Woolfy, long time friend of Future Classic, returns with an eclectic and brilliant EP. Title track 'City Lights' is a joyful, nostalgic summer jam, full of marimbas and Woolfy's vocal drawl. Meanwhile, '17 is pure disco, featuring a mesmerising falsetto that floats around the track's driving bass line. Genius!

MIE are delighted to be releasing 'A Daylight Blessing', the 7th record by Claypipe, the New Zealand noise/drone/pop duo of Antony Milton and Clayton Noone on March 3rd 2014. The record will be released in a run of 300 LPs, available on vinyl and digitally. The record has been mastered by James Plotkin and will come in silkscreened sleeve made out of recycled card. 'Clayton and I finally met in person back in 2001 when he came up to play a festival in Wellington and stayed at my house. We had been trading records for a year or so. It was inevitable that we would wind up recording together. I set up my 4 track on the lounge floor that afternoon and we recorded the 'Crescent' LP (PseudoArcana). We live 100s of miles apart and so our get togethers have been rare but when we are together we usually record. 'A Daylight Blessing' will be our 7th release. We're an improvising project, sometimes noisy, sometimes droney but somehow playing in Claypipe draws a blissed out sunny pop sensibility from both our natures, something neither of us are particularly well known for in our other bands and projects. Its possible this is a direct response to nature itself- the Claypipe methodology frequently involves taking battery powered and acoustic instruments outside- to a grassy hillside, stream edge, or in the case of this record the sandhills by the beach down the road from Claytons place in Dunedin. There's a hippy utopianism present here that I think perhaps catches us both a little off guard. But it works and I know for myself that I'm reluctant to interrogate it too closely for fear of casting too much light on a fragile magic. 'A Daylight Blessing' was recorded over a few days in October 2010 whilst preparing for a gig supporting Richard Youngs. It was mixed and edited over the next few months in Christchurch where it gave welcome and happy distraction from the earthquakes and their aftershocks.' - Antony Milton. January 3 2014.
