RPS Surfers is a new surf band from Israel. Their music can be described as instrumental Mediterranean surf-rock, characterized by reverb guitars and heavy organs.
"Danger Beach" is their debut LP, set for release in March 2014 by Audio-Montage. It's a short instrumental concept album (25 min), consisting of nine original tunes. Some of the tracks combine the regular surf guitar-organ-drums section with traditional middle-eastern acoustic instruments.

ancing to Restore an Eclipsed Moon is the debut studio album of American post-punk band Red Temple Spirits. It was released in 1988 on the Nate Starkman & Son label, a subsidiary of Fundamental.
Rock critic Piero Scaruffi praised the album, calling it a "ponderous masterpiece" and writing, "The extravagant mysticism [...] had few or no precedents. It rehashed emotional debris left buried under the cosmic and ritualistic hymn of 'Interstellar Overdrive', under the psychotic and metaphysical melodrama of 'The End', under the apocalyptic frenzy of 'Sister Ray', while scouring medieval fairy tales, Tibetan mantras, whirling sufi dances and gothic ballads for intimations of supernatural existence."



L.A.'s Red Temple Spirits perform ritualistic, droning post-punk soundscapes augmented by tribal drumming, '60s psychedelia, and a {new age} spiritual sensibility courtesy of British emigre and frontman William Faircloth, fresh off of an EP with Ministry of Love. The band also features guitarist Dallas Taylor and bassist Dino Paredes, a former member of Perry Farrell's pre-Jane's Addiction band Psi Com.

Los Angeles based Red Temple Spirits were prophets and shamen, ritualistic healers musically exploring an entirely new world. Pulsating psychedelic sonics meet mesmerizing mysticism, comprising intense spiritual, tribal, primitive imagery. Formed in early 1987, the band has released two albums via Nate & Starkman Son Records (distributed by Fundamental) and disbanded in 1993.

'Torch' is the rare album outing from Thomas Lang, the acclaimed Liverpool based singer-songwriter best known for the jazz-tinged song "The Happy Man" and debut album 'Scallywag Jaz' which hit the UK charts in 1987. 'Torch' is his first album since 'Versions' in 1996 and was recorded Live at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall Rodewald Suite on 16th April 2011.



Lang, revered for his sultry jazz-pop sensibilities and contemporary interpretations, up held several residencies at London's Ronnie Scotts Jazz club and has played with Jools Holland, Nina Simone and Alisom Moyet to name a few. He's known to many for his pivotal role within the UK's musical infrastructure for heading up the consortium that successfully battled and won to keep open Liverpool's Parr Street Recording Studios (a Grammy Award-winning studio, known for its work with Coldplay, Doves, Embrace, Elbow, Badly Drawn Boy and many many more).



'Torch' features John Wheatcroft on guitar, Glen Lewis on piano, Colin Lamont on drums, Paul Thomas on sax and Hugo Harrison on double bass. Together they create smooth, effortless arrangements, with Lang voicing his warm mellifluous tones that bring the songs to life. Here's what the singer had to say about this special album:
"This was a project I have wanted to do for some time. I wanted to take some of the inspirational songs from my first encounters with great Jazz singers and take it in a raw format to the stage and record it in front of a live audience, as most jazz records of the day where recorded. And also to see how some of my own material coped with an authentic jazz set up. All live. I hope you enjoy it.
P.S. I've added my recording of the Paul McCartney song Maybe I'm Amazed which was recorded live for BBC radio Merseyside as the brain child of Mike Neary to raise awareness for The Linda McCartney Centre in Liverpool. It just seemed to sit in so well with the feel.

You are watching and listening to Music For Undays. It contains thirteen unreleased tracks by artists from the Unday Records label and a few newcomers. New music from Trixie Whitley, Flying Horseman, Ian Clement, Dans Dans and many others, recorded especially for this release.


Two years after its start, Unday still feels as fresh and exciting as ever, only now it's home to ten artists. All different but dedicated and inspiring in their own ways.


Music For Undays is not trying to look back. Above all it seemed like a good idea to let all the talent on the label record new stuff, without any restraint or pressure.


The assignment we gave the bands was quite simple: record a new track, exclusive to this release. No B-sides or leftovers. Everybody said yes. Most of the tracks have been recorded at Kristof Deneijs' (Yuko, Imaginary Family) Dive Studios and at Ian Clement's Donderling studio. All songs have been mixed by Jasper Maekelberg (Yuko). This way we've seen spontaneous collabs emerge in the care free environment of the home studio.


This album also introduces a number of new names, a few newcomers which we spotted in the last couple of months, and who we think match the Unday universe perfectly. Keep an eye on them.
The result of all this is at the same time diverse and coherent. There are live versions, solo performances, covers and etches of new material on there, but most of all brilliant songs. We are really thrilled with the result.

Simply put, Malkuth are a Leviathan; rising from the West, to lay waste to the Eastern lands -- fierce and spiteful, having been awakened from centuries of contemplative slumber. In comparison to their two full-lengths on Hospital Productions, Hathir Sakta (and its accompanying disc on Prison Tatt Records, Tamahprabha, the set originally intended as one double LP) finds Malkuth in relative or even greater form, this material having been simmered to perfection, its ferocity seasoned to epic proportion -- and as always, guitar-guitar-drums -- no bass to tether it, 'define' it or in any way hem it in. Szwed and Murano's guitars tentacle one another -- dozens of possessing riffs, split in all the right places by ice shards of trebly melody -- angular, baroque and dissonant, as if Morton Feldman were somehow meeting black metal halfway; his studied, contemplative maturity juiced up on a gift-cask of USBM-tinged Kaddish wine and energy drinks, and Mr. Murano's experimental projects (Decimus, K-Salvatore, Key Of Shame, et al.), having evolved similarly during the interval, inform these Malkuth tracks in the most apropos and satisfying of ways. Matt Heyner's roiling drum kit ties it all up in twine, complementing Murano's growl with snare-hits and tom workouts like small-arms fire. Malkuth are of a rare breed within the pantheon of black metal, in that their material is both energizing (similar to the way of all bands who chose to ride the Darkthrone/Abruptum artery from the primordial Scandinavian explosion) and meditative/brooding, offering 'head' and 'hard' in equivalent doses. After spending many hours of deep listening to their material, as well as hosting them on my WFMU radio program during the bridge between their Hospital releases and these newer ones, I can say with surety that this LP and its companion are indeed Malkuth's finest hour, such that 'well worth the wait' becomes a descriptive understatement. Hathir Sakta requires your immersion, for the listeners' full envelopment to be achieved; that said, you'll undoubtedly pick up on the incredible energy of these recordings even if only half-listening, and when you're ready, the awe-inspiring, novelistic quality of Hathir Sakta will reveal itself fully and enrapture the listener in its cavernous terror and ecstasy." --Wm. 'Rosehip, Scallop, Dancer' is a new compilation from Posh Isolation. Even if the contributions range from post punk over industrial to techno, drone and more. The mood is set from the opening track and flows all the way through, as if the tracks were meant to be together, created to fit each other while still demanding their own space. From the sexual mumbles of White, to the strict isolation of Age Coin, the hopelesness of Croatian Amor and voyeristic feel of Sand Circles the ties between the tracks are remarkable, as if they were different emotional aspects of the same bodies luring ambivalence. 'Rosehip, Scallop, Dancer' was compiled over the last three years and present one portrait, drawn over ten pieces by ten different artists. Big Ups will release their debut LP, Eighteen Hours of Static, via Tough Love Records in Europe on January 13th, 2014. Dead Labour will release in the US on 14th January. Brendan Finn, Joe Galarraga, Amar Lal, and Carlos Salguero Jr. met whilst learning about specifications of Cat 5 cables in New York City. Shortly after, they formed a band. Big Ups blend punk, post-punk, metal, and indie rock into a salty mash that gets stuck to the roof of your mouth. At their brightest, they have been likened to The Descendents, but at their sludgiest, they call to mind bands like Pissed Jeans and The Jesus Lizard, albeit with an Albini-esque metallic clang. The record was recorded by Charles DeChants in the rock 'n' roll labyrinth known as Excello Recording in Brooklyn over three days. The album is one characterised by aggressive mood swings. The band slows their usual frantic pace on the burner "Wool" - a song about dealing with suffering. They toy with dynamics on white-knuckle grip of "TMI", "Little Kid", and "Fresh Meat". But not to worry - the mania is still there; first single "Goes Black" and "Atheist Self-Help" demand attention with their searing guitars and colossal drums. Lyrically, the album is a meditation on "truth, faith, and science" (the record's title is a reference to Carl Sagan's Contact), but like all the best bands, Big Ups don't necessarily have all of the answers, but they'll keep asking the right questions...

THE WATCH is a 5 piece band born in 2001. Their music is inspired by classic 70's style progressive-rock. Melodies and energy are the main features of The Watch music. Their brand new album 'Tracks from the Alps' is the band's sixth studio album, which
looks like being one of their best since their first one released in 2001. The musical atmospheres in the album change a lot through the songs, from very rock powerful progressions to quiet and more acoustic sections performed by 12 strings guitars arpeggios and electric pianos. Producing the album the band has used only original instruments from the 70s, like mellotron, hammond organ, synthesizers branded moog, electric pianos hohner (the
same one used by Beatles), double neck and 12 strings electric and acoustic guitar. Arrangements are reach and melodies are always to be discovered and something never foregone, this is what keeps the tension high when listening to this album. Lyrics are all about the Alps, a place that was very important in some of the band's members life. From 2008 The Watch are touring regularly and extensively all around Europe, UK, US and Canada bringing their music on stage and adding some tunes from the band that has inspired them throughout the years, Genesis. Die Formation Temples aus Kettering in England besteht aus James Bagshaw (vocals & guitar), Tom Warmsley (bass & backing vocals), Sam Toms (drums) und Adam Smith (keys). The album follows hot on the heels of outstanding stand alone single 'Run Away' released on Ample Play Records last month. The KVB is the audio/visual project of London youngsters Nicholas Wood & Kat Day, who combine reverb heavy wall of sound guitars, minimal haunting strings and grinding bass synths, messed up motorik drum machine beats and delay drenched vocals with a backdrop of imagery to accompany the symphony, that's nothing short of life affirming. The new long player was recorded in New York City over the last year with producer Chris Coady (Smith Westerns, Beach House, Gang Gang Dance, Blonde Redhead), and will land in the middle of the band's 5 month tour of Europe, America & Australia. A summer of festivals will follow.

Asked to comment on the unusual title, bassist Chris Cain explains, 'It's in French, I think. At least some of the words.'

Singer and guitarist Keith Murray elaborates: 'We wanted to get at the seemingly inevitable parallax that happens between two people in a relationship, that sense that you get the gist of what the other person needs and wants and how they feel about you, but only the gist — you're relying on these broad cues a lot of the time to tell you what the hell's going on.'

We Are Scientists exploded onto the U.K. scene with one of 2005's iconic indie dance rock records, 'With Love & Squalor'. Years of touring followed, as did a second album, 'Brain Thrust Mastery', that spawned now-classic nightlife anthem 'After Hours' (a #11 charting single). Main stage slots at Reading & Leeds, Glastonbury, T In The Park, and festivals all over Europe, as well as appearances on Later with Jools Holland, and their own series of comedic MTV shorts ('Steve Wants His Money'), followed by third album 'Barbara'... all served to cement and increase their legacy.

Now, after releasing a 7-inch and a 5-song EP in 2013, the band prepare to share their finest collection of songs to date.

According to Cain, 'The guy who was producing everything looked different from the one who did those other three records.'

Murray further enthuses, 'Yeah, working for the first time with Chris Coady as producer had a huge effect — he has such a distinct and well-developed sense of what's cool and what sounds good, but he's also emphatic about keeping the rawness of the performances in there.'

Having taken a self-imposed 'break', Embrace are back in 2014 with a brand new EP and their sixth studio album.

Newly signed to Cooking Vinyl for the world, the band return with a record they are hugely proud of, that is the follow up to the Number One album 'This New Day' which featured their most successful single the Number 2 charting "Nature's Law". Combined sales of Embrace's last two albums total over one million copies with each of their albums achieving either Platinum or Gold status.

The band release the 4 track 'Refugees' EP on 10th February with their sixth eponymous album to follow on 28th April 2014.

The 'Refugees' EP also features three brand new studio recordings that will not feature on the new album and there is a fantastic video for lead track 'Refugees' which sees the band tread new water musically whilst still retaining their signature sound and anthemic qualities.

Having recently played a handful of highly original and tiny secret shows to their dedicated, fervent and most hardcore of fans the band will play a short run of dates in the Scottish Highlands in February followed by a full UK headline tour in May.

The new material has been recorded at the band's own studio in Halifax, with Embrace co-founder and guitarist Richard McNamara on production duties.

Berlins vermutlich schrägster Kulturexport, Knorkator, schickt sich an, einmal mehr neue Maßstäbe zu setzen. Am 17. Januar 2014 erscheint ihr neues Album "We Want Mohr", für das die Band eigens einige Geschichten aus dem "Struwwelpeter" vertont hat - selbstverständlich auf ihre ganz eigene Art. Seit 17 Jahren widersetzen sich die Berliner konsequent jedem Klassifizierungsversuch. Anfangs vielerorts lediglich als Chaoten bekannt, genießen sie inzwischen breite Anerkennung ob ihrer musikalischen und poetischen Virtuosität. Mit einer stilistischen Bandbreite von Bach bis Death Metal haben sie sich in fast jeder Bevölkerungskategorie treue Anhänger erspielt. Die Wechselbäder aus Pathos und Klamauk kann man lieben oder hassen. Kalt lässt es niemanden.

Das Album erscheint als tolle Luxus Edt. incl. einer DVD mit einem 90 Minuten Konzert vom "Knorkator und Freundinnen" Festival aus der Berliner Zitadelle vom letzten Sommer, als günstige Standard Einzel CD, sowie als Vinyl inkl. beigelegter CD.

CD: Die einfache CD kommt mit 13 neuen Songs. Drei Texte wurden vom literarischen Weltkulturerbe "Der Struwwelpeter" genutzt, nicht zuletzt, weil Knorkator schon immer ein wenig die modernen Heinrich Hoffmanns sein wollten. Das Artwork mit der fotografischen Vorlage für die Luxus Version besticht durch eine unauffällige Schlichtheit und ein beigelegtes Booklet, von dem entnommen werden kann, dass die Luxus Version zwar mehr Spaß gemacht hätte, die einfache Version aber keineswegs ein Fehlkauf war.

DVD (nur Bestandteil der Luxus Edt.): Im August 2012 konnte Knorkator mit dem eigenen Festival "Knorkator und Freundinnen" in der Berliner Zitadelle einen erneuten Höhepunkt ihrer Karriere setzen. Dieses Konzert wurde aufgezeichnet und mit einigen anderen kleinen Schmankerln kann der Käufer dieser CD Luxus Version wunderbar nachvollziehen, dass Knorkator keineswegs nur erfolgreich in Clubs unterwegs sind. Für die grafische Gestaltung des Digipaks und Booklets konnte ein befreundeter Künstler und Cartoonzeichner verpflichtet werden, der darüber hinaus zum Song "Konrad" ein Video geschaffen hat.

VINYL: Knorkator waren, sind und bleiben eine klassische Rockband, die dem zumeist alten und treuen Freund ihrer Musik eine Schallplatte herstellen lassen wollte. Apparently, despite the rumours, pre-fusion acid jazz-rock is alive and well, living it up in Southern California, USA! Psicomagia is the joint forces of leading members of noted prog and stonerrock outfits Astra & Radio Moscow. The band is serving up a mixture of the same essence that Soft Machine, Tony Williams Lifetime & Magma pioneered during that magical period just seconds before progressive electric jazz was grabbed by the institutional jazz scene. A formula, thought lost until this day, when seemingly out of the blue, the relentless force of Psicomagia appeared. Spearheaded by multi-instrumentalist & producer Brian Ellis's roaring saxophone, constantly interplaying Tyler Daughn's franticly screaming organs and synthesizers, the soul of Psicomagia is in the endlessly permutated busts of energy of the two. Big Ups will release their debut LP, Eighteen Hours of Static, via Tough Love Records in Europe on January 13th, 2014. Dead Labour will release in the US on 14th January. Brendan Finn, Joe Galarraga, Amar Lal, and Carlos Salguero Jr. met whilst learning about specifications of Cat 5 cables in New York City. Shortly after, they formed a band. Big Ups blend punk, post-punk, metal, and indie rock into a salty mash that gets stuck to the roof of your mouth. At their brightest, they have been likened to The Descendents, but at their sludgiest, they call to mind bands like Pissed Jeans and The Jesus Lizard, albeit with an Albini-esque metallic clang. The record was recorded by Charles DeChants in the rock 'n' roll labyrinth known as Excello Recording in Brooklyn over three days. The album is one characterised by aggressive mood swings. The band slows their usual frantic pace on the burner "Wool" - a song about dealing with suffering. They toy with dynamics on white-knuckle grip of "TMI", "Little Kid", and "Fresh Meat". But not to worry - the mania is still there; first single "Goes Black" and "Atheist Self-Help" demand attention with their searing guitars and colossal drums. Lyrically, the album is a meditation on "truth, faith, and science" (the record's title is a reference to Carl Sagan's Contact), but like all the best bands, Big Ups don't necessarily have all of the answers, but they'll keep asking the right questions...

The Tommy Keene Covers Album features songs by: The Who, Rolling Stones, Big Star & more! Tommy Keene delved deep into his record collection in planning Excitement at Your Feet, his 10th studio effort and first LP of cover songs, due for release Sept. 17. Rather than top hits, Keene takes on some heavy hitters: the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Bee Gees, but apart from Donovan's 'Catch the Wind' none of Excitement's 11 tracks ever troubled the U.S. singles chart. This album largely about the artist's personal musical
inspiration. Keene pays tribute to his aforementioned British Invasion heroes, but also his East Coast punk/new wave roots with covers of Television and Mink Deville. On a more contemporary note, he also tips his hat to Keene Brothers partner Robert Pollard with a cover of Guided By Voices' 'Choking Tara.' Get ready to dig into this idiosyncratic survey of great rock and roll from the past half century.

Reissue of classic 1975 mega rare sought after UK folk psych private pressing. A "Wicker Man" atmosphere pervades throughout this record and features fragile female vocals and separately some male vocals, plus a vast array of instruments including electric leads, 12-string guitar, jaws harp, flutes, recorders, mandolin and dulcimer. This has got to be one of the best and most inventive examples of underground folk from the 1970's. Highly recommended! Order early, few copies only!
