We're excited to announce the release of the new Willie Nelson album Summertime: Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin. The album includes pop standards, penned by America's legendary songwriting duo George and Ira Gershwin.

As Willie tells it: 'Ira and George Gershwin were just fantastic writers. They wrote some of the greatest songs ever. The Gershwin songs have been here for many many years. When I was just a small guy, I remember hearing all these great Gershwin songs and they'll be around forever because great music like that just does not go away.'

Among the 11 Gershwin classics recorded by Willie Nelson for his new album are two duets: 'Let's Call The Whole Thing Off' with Cyndi and 'Embraceable You' with Sheryl Crow.

Heidi Marie Vestrheim wurde 1977 in Öystese geboren, einer Stadt am Hardangerfjord, die von Gletschern und Bergen eingerahmt an der Westküste Norwegens liegt. "Black Forest" ist ihr viertes Studioalbum. Zwei Jahre hat sie gebraucht, um die zehn Songs fertigzustellen und aufzunehmen. Sie sagt von sich selbst, dass sie keine dieser Songwriterinnen ist, die auf Knopfdruck Ideen haben. Sie braucht die Inspiration und verarbeitet die Impressionen, die das Leben beschert. In diesem Fall war das der Tod ihres Vaters, der eine kreative Leere bei ihr hinterließ. Dank der Zusammenarbeit mit ihrem musikalischen Partner Roy Ole Forland, der ihr seit zehn Jahren live, beim Songwriting und in Sachen Produktion zur Hand geht, gelang es Vestrheim, diese Phase hinter sich zu lassen und den Tod des Vaters zu verarbeiten. Aus dieser Stimmung heraus ist auch der düster anmutende Titel entstanden, der als Metapher für eine Chance und nicht für eine Sackgasse zu verstehen ist. Insofern passt es ganz gut, auf "Black Forest" mit einer zwar leicht melancholischen, aber letztlich sehr ansteckenden Form von Fröhlichkeit konfrontiert zu werden, der Vestrheim mit sensationeller Stimmakrobatik einen wundervollen Ausdruck verleiht.

Der Ex-Screaming Trees Sänger hat in den letzten Jahren vor allem als Mitglied der Queens Of The Stone Age auf sich aufmerksam gemacht, gelegentlich hörte man ihn auch auf Alben von Freunden wie Melissa Auf der Maur und natürlich war er bei den Desert Sessions dabei. 2003 erschien endlich seine eigene EP "Here Comes That Weird Chill", aufgenommen in einem Studio in der Mitte des Joshua Tree Nationalparks in Kalifornien. Mitten in der Steppe produzierte Lanegan ein staubtrockenes, gelegentlich düsteres Werk, das schon andeutete, wohin die musikalische Reise geht. "Bubblegum" ist sein bisher aufwendigstes Werk. Gelegentlich spürt man deutlich, dass die Zeit bei den Queens sein Songwriting prägte; die rockigeren Songs ähneln einem inspirierenden Höllentrip. Von den ruhigen Tracks, deren dichte Arrangements sich hervorragend mit der einzigartigen Stimme paaren, können sich auch die Herren Cave und Waits durchaus eine Scheibe abschneiden. Gäste auf dem Album sind Josh Homme, Nick Olivieri, PJ Harvey, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, Greg Dulli, Dean Ween und Chris Goss, der gemeinsam mit Lanegan das Album produzierte.

Al Brown's Tunetoppers made their mark with 'The Madison', the smash hit tribute to one of the biggest dance crazes of the era. Though they may be much less well known, these two crackers show that the Baltimore troupe were far from one hit wonders. 'Take Me Back' is a dancefloor burner with a tempo and rhythm more suited to the Twist than the Madison, while 'Sweet Little Love' is a more languid, jazzy, finger-clicking affair, oozing with hip attitude and charm.

Japanese guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Keiji Haino had been a prominent figure in the Tokyo underground since the mid-'70s before forming this incredible group that stands as one of Japan's most inventive and extraordinary and powerful groups of the era. Their work draws on noise, rock, free improvisation, and psychedelia, yet they sculpt their group sound in a fashion that their music is relative to few forms.

Fushitsusha recorded their debut album in 1989; however, it is rumored that the group existed in various incarnations from as early as 1980. A self-titled double album that vanished from the market very quickly, it certainly made an impact on an influential level and was a quintessential recording in the Tokyo psychedelic rock revival and noise rock scenes. The Japanese psych rock power trio maintained an aura of deep mystery throughout the majority of their career. Their album covers featured no artwork, only the characters for the group's name in dark ink on black paper.

Brazilian Disco Boogie Sounds pays tribute to this great era, coming out in a deluxe vinyl edition with old-school tip-on jacket and innersleeve including notes and original artworks. Check!!
Brazilian Disco Boogie Sounds, is a compilation that brings together nine of the most important and obscure hits of the Brazilian Funk-Boogie-Disco scene during the years of 1978 to 1982. Jùnior Santos is a Carioca drummer since his 15 years old, and is today a respected vinyl collector and music researcher. More than anything, he is carried on by the love of Brazilian music, which has never been forgotten.

Favorite Recordings initiative of seeking a unique project with Brazilian music carried Jùnior on to dig into old record companies' files and bring out pearls from what he sees as the end of the Samba-Rock period. At that time musicians and arrangers such as Lincoln Olivetti, Robson Jorge, and Oberdan Magalhães along with Banda Black Rio, were responsible for the new music scene. They had dominated the studios with sophisticated and original arrangements that have forever transformed Brazilian musical perspective. This music, at that point, had gained a new style and great world respect that has remained till the contemporary times.

William Onyeabor was born outside Enugu, a small, rural town in Eastern Nigeria, he created his own genre of African electronic funk in the late 70s and early 80s, making music completely unique for his time. Today, he is reaching cult status among a growing list of admirers, including everyone from Damon Albarn and Hot Chip to Carl Craig and Madlib, with some likening him to the Kraftwerk of West Africa, or a precursor to LCD Soundsystem.

Among the crate-digging few that knew of him, he is considered a complete myth. While he has never performed live and almost never given interviews, his fantastical biography is scattered and has to this day not been verified. And, though he is still alive, he refuses to speak about anything regarding the past.

According to various rumors, he left home following the Biafran War and went to study cinematography in the Soviet Union, returning in the mid-70s to start his own film company and record label, Wilfilms. He then self-released eight remarkable records from 1978-1985. He wrote and produced everything on his own, and possibly played every instrument himself. Then, at some point of his life, he became born again and denounced his earlier music, deciding it is something he would never speak about.

Michael Silver is CFCF, a man with a gift for a melody. He continually delivers timeless music as aptly illustrated in his debut release for International Feel, 'On Vacation'.

CFCF is a Montreal native who has been making music since he was 12 years old. Pitchfork have previously described his work as "a strong case for how much unexpected magic can be found in the ordinary and another excellent chapter in CFCF's story."

The second in International Feel's minialbum series, 'On Vacation', is an album inspired by places and spaces some imaginary, some real. The keen sense of melody allows CFCF to switch genres thoughout this release and shows him in clear analogue organic territory. "It's really gentle and lowkey and I hope that people will not take it too seriously,' explains Silver, 'It's a kind of jazzy affair."

'Sate Padang' is the album opener. A mystic little track, the likes you'd be happy to find in a dusty Japanese record store. It timelessly sets the scene. A mixture of digital and organic sounds perfectly held together by tight melodies and lush sounds. 'Arto' swiftly follows and pays homage to one of the great Japanese composers Seigen Ono. Acoustic guitar and piano play harmoniously alongside a conga beat and sumptuous accordion, it transports you to an imaginary place within. An ambient piece, 'In The Courtyard' follows, with 'Pleasure Centre' closing the A side and showing Silver's love of that under appreciated side of the 80s synth sound.

The B side opens with the stunning 'Chasing ' where acoustic instrumentation swoops in for a beautiful run through a flowing melody. A track that makes us want to hit rewind and play again instantly. 'Fleur Laisses Dans Un Taxi ' gives a nod to Paris in the Spring, 'Lighthouse On Chatham Sound' to a late afternoon setting by the sea and the album closes with 'Vermont', a contemplative piece that considers a future journey.

This album shows Silver in full stride and hitting somewhere pretty special. An artist open to music and melody and not hindered by genre or time and space. A cliche Yes maybe... But listen and you'll see exactly what we mean.

Auroras Debutalbum - All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend' setzt den Weg der bisher bekannten Songs fort, geht aber einen entscheidenden Schritt weiter: AURORA hat eine eigene Klangsprache gefunden. Treetop Flyers new album Palomino comes two and a half years on from their acclaimed debut album The Mountain Moves. Recorded at the band's own Soup Studios in London, self-produced along with the help of some friends -  and then mixed by Jonathan Wilson (Father John Misty, Conor Oberst, Elvis Costello) - their new outlook was to embrace the unknown, and begin experimenting. New synths, new pedals and new techniques helped them to unravel their own sound, as well as conceptions of the classic qualities laid down by their forebears, ultimately uniting them with a purposely accentuated groove and unfathomably tight vocal harmonies - all threaded together by Reid's own soulful melancholy.
Setting the tone for the album, opener 'You, Darling You' is a reflection on the old saying "sometimes loving someone means letting them go". In this case it's over a failed marriage, but the record picks up on some of the themes of death and departure that made up The Mountain Moves. 31 Years tracks a goodbye to a friend who passed away during the recording of their debut, and St Andrew's Cross is a lament to the passing of Reid's father, used almost in therapy by the band as a way to reconcile the past and the unknown ahead, all at once. Interestingly, it's the band's own smart production (as well as tracks like Dance Through The Night and Falling Back) that injects real life into Palomino.

Aziza Brahim wurde 1976 in einem Flüchtlingscamp in der algerischen Wüste geboren. Seit zwei Jahrzehnten lebt sie im Exil, erst auf Kuba, jetzt in Barcelona. Brahims Leben und Musik ist exemplarisch für die Tragödien und Hoffnungen der heutigen Migranten und Flüchtlinge. In einer Zeit, in der die Grenzen in Europa und darüber hinaus wieder vermauert werden, wirken ihre leidenschaftlichen Songs wie mit poetischem Trotz befeuert - und damit sehr aktuell. Brahims Vorgängeralbum "Soutak" wirkte schon mit großen Schritten darauf hin, ihre Botschaft der Befreiung und des Widerstands zu verbreiten. Das Album führte drei Monate lang die World Music Charts Europe an und nahm dort auch Platz 1 der Jahrescharts 2014 ein. Während auf "Soutak" der musikalische Einfluss ihres Wohnorts Barcelona klar erkennbar war, wurde er auf "Abbar el Hamada" mit Sounds aus Westafrika erweitert. Mit von der Partie sind der senegalesische Perkussionist Sengane Ngom, der Schlagzeuger Aleix Tobias, Guillem Aguilar am Bass und die Gitarristen Kalilou Sangare und Ignasi Cussó. Vom pulsierenden Wüstenrock des Songs "Calles de Dajla" zu den afrokubanischen Anklängen von "La Cordillera Negra", von der düsteren Eleganz in "El Canto Del La Arena" bis zur rauen Ballade "Mani" reflektiert "Abbar el Hamada" immer die rastlose Suche nach Heimat.

Mit ihrem mittlerweile dritten Album ist die fünfköpfige Folk-Punk-Band aus Norwich beim Label Xtra Mile untergekommen. Und damit dürfte das Quintett seinen Ruf als "Geheimtipp" sicher auch bald verloren haben. Obwohl die Band auch jetzt schon alles andere als unbekannt ist. Denn einerseits hat man miteinander schon gut und gerne 1.000 Auftritte absolviert und war bereits mit Frank Turner und Andrew Jackson Jihad auf Tour, andererseits wurde "Fizzy Brain" erfolgreich über die Crowdfunding-Plattform Pledge Music finanziert. All das spricht für einen gewissen Bekanntheitsgrad ... Das Album versammelt elf Songs, die zwar alle wie aus einem Guss klingen, aber nicht nach stilistischen Grenzen. Vom rauen Punkrock-Kracher bis zur Herz-SchmerzBallade ist alles dabei, was man an Emotionen und Leidenschaft von einer Gitarrenband erwarten darf. Dabei pendeln die Ducking Punches variantenreich immer wieder zwischen akustischen Songs und Full-BandTracks hin und her. Ein Ansatz, der das Hörvergnügen recht kurzweilig gestaltet, zumal die Band mit ernsthaften Lyrics zum Zuhören geradezu zwingt. Doch obwohl die Themen Depression, Verzweiflung, Tod und Trauer vorherrschen, heißt die Fahrtrichtung "Hoffnung", der Blick geht nach vorne.

Mit seiner Musik hatte das Londoner Trio Hælos, bestehend aus Arthur Delaney, Dom Goldsmith und Lotti Benardout, bislang noch nicht den ganz großen Erfolg. Doch so wie die Songs der Band klingen, wäre alles andere auch eine Überraschung. Die Blaupause für ihren Sound ist das emotionale Grundrauschen des modernen Großstadtlebens, das unterschwellig der Soundtrack unseres Lebens ist. Getroffen haben sich die Bandmitglieder im anonymen Londoner Nachtleben, in dem man als bloßes Individuum schnell verschwinden kann. Deshalb sehen sie es heute auch als eine Art von Fügung an, dass man damals zufällig am selben Ort zur selben Zeit aufeinander traf. Es war der Beginn einer Reise. Aufgewühlte Emotionen und Erfahrungen wie gescheiterte Beziehungen, Drogensucht, Verlust und Misserfolge mussten erst einmal katalysiert werden. So brauchte die junge Band Zeit, um ihre Mitte zu finden und die verschiedenen Einflüsse in Einklang zu bringen. Hælos' urbane Klanglandschaften erinnern an Massive Attack, Portishead oder Lamb. In einer Clubkultur, in der ein Kick dem nächsten folgt, ist Hælos' Musik der Soundtrack für die manchmal dunklen Stunden danach. "Full Circle" handelt von diesem schmalen Grat zwischen Dunkelheit und Euphorie.

Created in 2006, SETENTA, the Latin Soul Band from Paris, spreads a unique mix
over the world scene.

After a sparkling debut with their first albums Funky Tumbao (Hot Casa Records /
Fat Beats 2010), then followed in 2013 by Latin Piece of Soul (Hot Casa Records),
and after successful live experiences and strong links developed with New-York, the
French seven-pieces combo is back with a modern definition of Latin music.

Following their outstanding live collaboration at "Théâtre Les Etoiles" in Paris, and
"Jazz Mix de Vienne" in June 2015, they invite Joe BATAAN, the Latin soul legend,
to record "My Rainbow", a rare bolero, soulful, with spiritual lyrics written by the
godfather, maybe a new classic ballad for the history.

Composed collectively, this album mixes up Latin, Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk, modern
Jazz, or Psychedelic Boogaloo, with a percussive and strong vocal section, sung in
Spanish, English, Creole, Yoruba and French, for the first time in their repertoire,
with the song "Madame Shingaling".

Tony McKay aka EXUMA, born on the Bahamas in 1942, died in England in 1997, the Obeah Man, the master of voodoo folk, has been very active in the early 70s with seven albums alone from 1970 to 1973. Previously I only had a copy of his masterpiece - Snake' from 1972 but now as I got introduced to his 1970 debut album I really begin to understand his spiritual transformation from Tony McKay, the musician to Exuma, the Obeah Man each time he played his songs. And these are not just simple songs. Already the second track on this album, - Dambala', is an eruption of melancholy that speaks of the worship for the demon with the same name. Exuma screams and shouts upon a swirling drone of mantric chants from obviously possessed disciples while a musical substraction of acoustic guitars, bongos, bells and the one or another occasional flute create a thick and hazy atmosphere. The following track - Mama Loi, Papa Loi' shows the same qualities and spiritual depth. Exuma is the priest and sings to his followers while some gnarling demon spits out words that are not of earthly origin. The whole tune is an anthem with a hypnotizing approach. At this point you as the person in front of the stereo are far from just listening to music. You have entered the ceremony and are part if not victim of the ritual. A beautiful way to be sacrificed to the gods of the underworld. Elements of Latin music round up the whole picture. Samba rhythms and thundered whistles, cow bells, harmonicas, everything joining a massive groove that takes you to the streets of Rio De Janeiro at the heydays of carnival. It feels more like a spontaneous gathering of people creating a beat than a professional music recording in the studio but this is exactly what makes the magic of this record. If Richie Havens and Dr. John would have jammed some beautiful ritualistic voodoo stuff together it might have sounded like this. All this chiming and clapping that accompanies Exumas quite often really insane voice performances and his story telling makes you feel haunted. This is an album too far out for the average folk and singer / songwriter freak but those who love the occult improvisation music that was hip in the early 70s will certainly love this and if you dig beneath the occult and ritualistic veil you will discover melodies so pure and enchanting that they will set your doomed soul ablaze immediately. This is just freaking awesome.

ist nicht nur ein Multi-Instrumentalist, der auf Holzblasinstrumenten, Keyboards, Percussions und dem Akai
MPC-Sampler gleichermaßen zuhause ist. Ihm gelingt auch das seltene Kunststück, zahlreiche Musiker,
Genres, Stile und Einflüsse zu einer zusammenhängenden Einheit zu verschmelzen, die wahrhaftiger ist, als
ihre Einzelteile. Tatsächlich entspricht das Album dem typischen Bristol-Sound alter Schule, ohne an
irgendeiner Stelle nach Trip Hop oder Big Beat zu klingen. Famos.

Few records were able to break through a music scene as 'Aria' by Alan Sorrenti. It was 1972, Progressive Rock was at its peak, and basically out of nowhere appeared, as a lightning from a blue sky - on EMI / Harvest record label among other things - Alan Sorrenti, a half-Welsh artist heading from Naples. Parsons Project, from Naples but half Welsh, from the mother. This is a debut album at the same level of Banco's eponymous LP, P.F.M.'s "Storia di un minuto" or Area's "Arbeit Macht Frei".

The album, it must be said, is not too much accessible for everyone, due in particular to the 20-minute long suite that occupies the entire first side: it sounds like a stream of consciousness transposed into music, with a high dose of improvisation, especially as it regards Sorrenti's voice. When you start at the highest levels is difficult to keep on the same, and in fact Alan would never be able to reach the same incredible heights of this LP, today considered a masterpiece of Italian prog, and at the time of its release, perhaps with astonishment by the same artist, incensed by critics and consequently by the public. Sorrenti was among the first ones to use the voice as an instrument, even before Demetrio Stratos in the aforementioned Area; he was also one of the few solo artists to excel in a world, that of the

progressive rock, almost exclusively reserved to bands. Among the various guests, the most famous is undoubtedly the French Jean-Luc Ponty, whose contribution on violin embellishes this record's title-track.

This reissue is identical to the original 1972 one in its artwork, and makes available again in LP format an album that, despite its popularity, is very difficult to find even in the most recent reprints. A welcome return, another 'must-have' for Italian prog listeners!

Everything But The Girl was an English musical duo, formed in Hull in 1982, consisting of lead singer and occasional guitarist Tracey Thorn and guitarist, keyboardist, and singer Ben Watt.
Originating at the turn of the 1980s as a leader of the lite- jazz movement, Everything But The Girl became an unlikely success story more than a decade later, emerging at the vanguard of the fusion between Pop and Electronica.
Idlewild (1988), their most accessible recording, consists of eleven intimate songs. The setting is perfect for such moving compositions as 'Love Is Here Where I Live' and 'Apron Strings.' The album spawned the single 'I Don't Want to Talk About It,' a poignant cover of a song by the late Crazy Horse guitarist Danny Whitten which became EBTG's biggest hit to date, landing at the number three spot on the British charts. Troubadour is the fourth album by JJ Cale, released in
1976. Eric Clapton covered the song 'Cocaine' on his 1977 album Slowhand, turning it into one of his biggest hits.

Clapton later covered the track 'Travelin' Light' for his 2001 studio album Reptile. 'Travelin' Light' was also recorded by Widespread Panic for their album Space Wrangler in 1988.

Producer Audie Ashworth introduced some different instruments for a slightly altered sound on Troubadour. But the album still bears the typical introspective J.J. Cale style we all love so much!

L'Uovo di Colombo is yet another classic example of Italian progressive band in the early '70s abandoned by their record company following the completion of their first LP. Actually, the labels were two, Odeon and Columbia, and it is weird that from those two 'giants' wasn't born a new commercial phenomenon.

The musicians of the group were in fact all professionals, coming from (I Fholks, Flea on the Honey) or later joining (Cherry Five, Dwight Logan, Royal Academy of Music, Samadhi) other bands, and the level of preparation and how you feel in the eight tracks album. The style is a rock, at times hard, with keyboards always in evidence (and subsequent

references to Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Le Orme, EL & P ...) and a solid rhythmic base.

Long out of print in its LP, "The Egg of Columbus" is now available again on label VM, in a faithful reproduction of the original and coloured vinyl.
