Bristol's Jurango kicks off 2021 in fine style with the 'Retreat Ites' EP for the Livity Sound Reverse series.

From the paranoid echo of the title track to the dark mutant dancehall of 'Theeves', Jurango crafts heavyweight ice cold drum and bass rhythms exploring the outer reaches of soundsystem music in true school Bristol fashion, placing him amongst peers such as Laksa, Batu and Lurka.

Livity Sound is a label set up by Peverelist in 2011 as a vehicle for a raw and exploratory strain of UK techno, rooted in the heritage of UK dance music and sound system culture. It has since become one of the UK's foremost protagonists for cutting edge underground electronic music.

WAREHOUSE FIND!: OZY is an electronic musician and dj from Reykjavik. In the early years of his career, OZY released a series of influential records on the Icelandic dub techno label Thule Records, paying homage to the Berlin dub sounds and the abstract shuffle rhythms of Cologne techno. In 2002, the legendary Force Inc./Mille Plateaux label released OZY's debut album Tokei, bringing Ozy to the attention of a wide international audience. Orignialy released in 2000 The release "No Undo" is yet another step further, in fusing techno with new and fresh elements of drum&bass music, making the music incredibly dark and funky. The outcome is a wicked concept of futuristic tribal techno, designed strictly for the dancefloor:

Taapion Records co-founder Shlomo drops his expansive and versatile debut album 'Mercurial Skin'.

A driving force within Paris' contemporary techno revival, Shlomo remains an individual at the heart of the city's bustling scene having swiftly established his own idiosyncratic sound with a myriad of releases on Delsin, Arts Collective and Soma and remixes for the likes of Oscar Mulero and Keith Carnal, not to mention reworks of his own productions from Norman Nodge, Johannes Heil, Tripeo and Donato Dozzy. As an artist, the Parisian performs both as Shlomo as well as his live ambient project under his full name, Shaun Baron-Carvais, with appearances from Berlin Atonal to Contact Tokyo, Berghain to Bassiani, Freerotation to Khidi, not to mention a residency at Concrete. Co-founder of Taapion alongside AWB and PVNV, a label celebrating its fifth anniversary having hosted some of the capital's most respected names in Fran ois X, Antigone, Bambounou and Roman Poncet, his wealth of skills as a producer, performer and A&R are clear to see. Having taken many forms and directions across the past 24 months, Shlomo now presents his and Taapion's debut album: 'Mercurial Skin'.

Having discovered electronic music through labels such as Warp and their releases from the late 90's / early 00's, I wanted to pay homage to the artists that have guided my sound, and the first part of the album is a tribute to these influences. Opening with the entrancing 'Hadal Zone', the 14 track long-player navigates a rich tapestry of textures and emotions to uncover the Parisian's most complete body of work to date, comprising of hypnotic, up-tempo cuts such as 'Mouais' through to entrancing, ever-evolving journeys in 'Suicide Ghost'. 'Mercurial Skin' delves into shades and tinges of Autechre as airy pads float amongst crisp drum work to reveal a truly stunning IDM offering, before ethereal compositions such as 'Maara' and 'Minotia' contrast against the glitchy, off-kilter breakbeats found amongst 'Napalm' and 'Low Key Love'.

'Ivory' offers a sublime slice of serene escapism, whilst the beatless 'Maintain The Lie' and 'Anastasia' exhibit immersive pockets of emotive sound design, acting as interludes whilst transporting listeners to cavities of space and serenity. Murky and eerie atmospherics flood through 'Jager Mod' and penultimate cut 'Brother', injecting panic and intensity to proceedings, before easing into the finale 'Wish You Were Here', as Baron-Carvais punctuates the LP with an expertly balanced exhibition of blissful soundscapes and esoteric melodies.

Comprised of enough experimental and left-of-centre nuances to satisfy even the most curious of diggers, 'Mercurial Skin' delivers an alluring trip into the mind of the most exciting and dexterous rising talents within electronic music.

We are very excited to announce the first of four releases of the Stone Techno series, which is a collaboration between the world-famous Ruhr Museum and The Third Room collective. This might sound at first sight a bit confusing. What do have stones and techno music in common? Well, the answer is very simple and yet fascinating.

Our home base, the Mischanlage (mixing plant) located at UNESCO World Heritage's Zollverein in Essen, was built from raw materials that originate from the Ruhr Area: stones and minerals. Its irresistible atmosphere and aura are radiating such an undeniable attraction for all visitors around the world. In exactly this mixing plant, different types of coal from the mines of the Ruhr area were mixed to a maximum quality by means of a huge hopper system.

Alongside with Dr. Achim Reisdorf (Geologist at the Ruhr Museum Foundation) and Kurt Gluck (Ohm Resistance) we came up with the idea to sample the sounds of those natural raw materials and creating a huge sample bank. All the sounds were processed by The Third Room Studios with high end analog gear to create the best sound quality possible.

This sample bank was made available to a fine selection of artists such as Dax J, Efdemin, FJAAK, Hadone, Inhalt der Nacht, Jamaica Suk, Matrixxman, Nene H, Oscar Mulero, RODHAD and many more so that they can crave inspiration from these sounds gathered hundreds of meters from the ground and marking an historical era of the modern industrialized society. We wanted to bring these different aspects together and creating an interdisciplinary music project resulting in several releases with unique soundscapes, atmospheres and rhythms. Enjoy the journey!

Each release is limited to 300 copies (180gr marbled 12" Vinyl, Full Cover Print). As part of the Stone Techno release series there will be also a collaboration with Arte Concert and the Mutek Festival.

Jessica Ackerley (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Patrick Shiroishi (Los Angeles, California) are both members of the newly announced super-family-group SSWAN (along with trumpeter Chris Williams, drummer Jason Nazary, and bassist Luke Stewart). Both have prolific outputs and work diligently to push the boundaries of their respective instruments and previous musical ideas.

'Across Water' sees Ackerley and Shiroishi contributing their own unique takes on the ambient sound. Jessica contributes 'I Am Here' and 'The Crevices Between My Heart', each following the collection's theme of water while the guitar and synth work on the second composition gives way to visuals of deep-sea life that can only sustain itself away from the hustle and bustle of crowdedness. Similarly, Patrick is no stranger to straddling the fine lines between subtle and overt emotionality. 'Because You Went There' and 'Leaving It All Behind' are his offerings, seemingly looking up to the sky rather than down ay the ocean, infused by the sweet and smoggy California air.

Here we go again! The second release on MARICAS Records is hot and ready to handle, fresh off the kitchens of two of the maestros of the moment, Saorsie and Roza Terenzi. Saoirse fires up the ignition with Dama Latina, an upfront housey number. Her tight, infectious groove bounces along incessantly, punctuated by an orchestra of bleeps and bloops, horns and sirens like one big sexy traffic jam. She keeps our fire burning low and slow with You Can Come. It’s underwater-funk with a lazy, heavily syncopated bassline overlaid with shimmering washy melodies and vocal on repeat, all dripping wet with reverb. We’re deep down in Chuggsville and it’s hot as hell.

On the flip side, Roza flips us out. Kandy Floss sends all kinds of creepy frequencies bouncing around the inside of our skulls. It's not long before a throbbing bassline creeps up on us in the dark and takes us on a ride, like a train through a haunted house of eerie sounds and voices. We cling to the steady groove because all other sounds are moving around us, like ghosts and ghouls erratically weaving in and out of each other over our heads.

We continue our spooky ride with Triple D must be something good because we’ve had three of them and we’re really feeling it. Helek K’s spoken words echo around us like a spiritual guide leading us through our trip, her moaning like a haunting lullaby. Driving bass all the way here, lifted by flickering percussion but darkened by the deep squelch of wobbly bass tone. Much psychedelic doof energy on this side of the disk.

After releasing their critically acclaimed debut LP “NOW” just last September, The people at Malka Tuti felt it was the time to continue pushing the name SHARI VARI to new realms & territories... A Remix Pack was born. For the remix pack, Malka Tuti chose a few close friends of the family to give new life and new interpre- tations to the now “instant classic” songs by the Hamburg duo.... The Ep begins with Fantastic Twins’s mid tempo, Coil inspired, break-beat groove, slowly building up in emotion with warm pads and 90’s vibe acid lines to- wards an epic catharsis. Benedikt Frey takes it from there, remixing a personal favourite - New York City, turning it into a dark trip- hop inspired journey, cleaning those distinct vocals, echoing Beth Gibbons’s smokey high tones.... On the B-side we find Black Merlin’s 11 minute trippy mid tempo dance floor banger. Cuts and slices from the original vocals of the song Dance Alone, laid carefully on top of a repetitive modular bass line, and sprinkled on top - those out-worldly sounds and FX that makes the track simply HUGE. Last but not least, Düsseldorf’s very own Lucas Croon’s Dub Version, released digitally last year, final- ly sees its day on wax. 90’s Break beat beats, gated vocals and everything else that takes to make a dance floor hit the roof.

Returning with our first release of 2022, we are delighted to welcome Soreab to the label. 5 cuts bridging the gap between UK bass, European Techno and early IDM. As well as a weighty remix from the formidable Pugilist.

_asstnt & Roll Dann collaborate to deliver the inaugural release on their Opera 2000 imprint entitled "Back From The Morgue".

Roll Dann has been in contact with music from a very young age and picked up inspiration from the destructive techno sound that invaded Spain between 2005 and 2010. With releases on the likes AINE, PoleGroup, Modularz and Clergy the young producer is quickly leaving his imprint on the techno world which hasn't gone unnoticed seeing him being signed to Slam's Soma imprint in 2019. "Back From The Morgue" sees him team up with _asstnt on their new Madrid based techno project, Opera 2000 for his first full EP following their track together on a compilation celebrating five years of Involve Records. _asstnt's sound comes from the heart of a passionate artist conveying romanticism, truth and dedication within his music and philosophy.

"Back From The Morgue" kicks things off with blistering drums scattered around growling modulations and twisted vocals keeping the atmosphere weird yet wonderful before "The Hill of Hanged" continues with resonating kicks fused with undulating, grime-influenced strings and sinister elements throughout. On the flip, "Coalescence" maintains the effervescent moods through storming grooves, dramatic soundscapes and powerful oscillations while "Dirty Mistress" features heavy, syncopated percussion peppered with distortion and dystopian leaning oscillations to bring this beautifully dramatic EP to a close.

With the VOI 030 - "Sense", the project Z.I.P.P.O enters a new sphere within its own sound direction. This release is characterized by IDM texture work, glitchy percussion and drum patterns, that find their room within deep atmospheric spaces and carefully placed delay programming. Certainly, recognizable is Maffei's eclectic taste for more complex electronic bits, which are also known from his more demanding DJ sets. "Sense" brings together different factettes of his nicely equipped studio arrangement, as you get to hear a range of grainy saturated hardware synthesis to innovative and more complex sound design. The sound of this record combines a bit of everything while keeping its very own character. If you like to give it a name, then it might feel like Aphex Twin meets Doppler Effekt and Pan Sonic.

In an era where Techno music is akin to Pop, and likes on social networks determine your value as an artist, the DIY approach is the only way forward. I felt the necessity to express myself in the way I wanted, by being my own filter.

Pye Corner Audio releases a new album, Let’s Emerge!, for Sonic Cathedral. It’s his first studio outing for the label following the acclaimed live recording Social Dissonance, which came out earlier this year, and it features Ride guitarist Andy Bell playing on five of its ten tracks. From the first glimpse of the artwork to the first note of the music it’s a marked deviation from Pye Corner Audio’s more traditional shadowy sounds. Whereas his last outing for Ghost Box (2021’s Entangled Routes) was inspired by the underground fungal pathways through which plants communicate, this one is very much above ground, bathed in sunlight and acid-bright psychedelia.

“This is a departure to sunnier climes, but a departure nonetheless,” says Pye Corner Audio, aka Martin Jenkins. “It’s something that I’d been thinking about for a while. I try to tailor my work slightly differently for the various labels that I work with, and this seems to fit nicely with Sonic Cathedral’s ethos.” Designer Marc Jones’ bold and ultra vivid artwork consciously references the likes of LFO, Spacemen 3 and the early output of Stereolab. “I think it mixes together many of my earliest influences,” explains Martin. “I’ve been a long-time fan of Spacemen 3 and Stereolab.

Their moments of repetition and drone have always seeped into what I’ve tried to create.

“I was living in a small apartment and I’d stripped down my studio set-up when I was recording this album. This enabled me to focus on a few key pieces of equipment and explore them fully.” The recordings were fleshed out by Andy Bell, who Martin first met at the Sonic Cathedral 15th birthday party at The Social in London back in 2019 – the same show that became the live album Social Dissonance.

“New alliances were formed and friendships made in that basement in Little Portland Street,” recalls Martin. “When I met Andy, we agreed that we needed to work together in some way. After I’d remixed a few tracks from his album The View From Halfway Down, he kindly repaid the favour.” The end results – mastered in New York by acclaimed engineer Heba Kadry – are incredible, from the first stirrings of opener ‘De-Hibernate’, via the glorious ‘Haze Loops’ and ‘Saturation Point’, the album slowly but surely awakens, blinking and feeling its way into the light. It all culminates in the epic closing track ‘Warmth Of The Sun’ which, with its vocal harmonies and acid breakdown, is seven and a half minutes of pure release.

“That one’s about life’s simple pleasures,” concludes Martin. “The Beach Boys, tremolo guitars, infinite drones, Spacemen 3. Let’s emerge from this darkened era and feel the ‘Warmth Of The Sun’. “The last few years have seen huge changes, both personally and in a wider perspective. The album title is a reaction to this, a collective (tentative) sigh of relief. Here’s to new beginnings and a sense of hope.”

Delsin is pleased to welcome a true pillar of the contemporary techno scene, Answer Code Request, for his first EP in six years. As an integral part of the Ostgut Ton family since breaking through some 10 years ago, Patrick Graser has shaped a patient but potent discography which embodies the hybridised nature of techno in the 21st Century. His distinctive style of melodically embellished, subtly fractured body music helps define the contemporary zeitgeist, but it also moves with enough emotional maturity to stand on its own terms as compelling, artist-led electronic music. Arriving some four years after his second LP Gens, the Shattering EP opens in an especially exploratory mode as Graser teases elements of breakbeat and ambient techno on the spellbinding 'Resonate'. 'Shattering' finds a different palette through which to explore broken rhythms, leaning in on a heavyweight bassline injected with rave-wired distortion. There are more linear techno pulses to be found in the tunnelling propulsion of 'CRS-21', but in the interests of contrast the EP closes with the sparkling refraction of 'Sustaining Life', a floor-ready masterclass in electronica with teeth.

A brand new signing to the label, DAWL is well known in the acid realms of the breakbeat sphere but is from the hardcore generation and a regular customer of Vinyl Fanatiks. We asked him if he wanted to use his knowledge of the scene to create us a proper little rave induced banger. I think you will agree with us that he has achieved this to great success. Tresor Records is proud to announce forthcoming special editions of its entire catalogue of Drexciya and related projects. 2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of James Stinson and the releases of the Transllusion and Shifted Phases albums. In recognition, the rightsholders, their families, and the label have commissioned Detroit-based contemporary artist Matthew Angelo Harrison to re-conceptualize the covers of Tresor's Drexciya-related catalogue. These editions will be released sequentially, bimonthly, starting early-September 2022.

The series starts with Neptune's Lair, first released in 1999, with the Hydro Doorways single arriving shortly after. In November, Harnessed The Storm and Digital Tsunami are coming. In 2023 comes the release of Transllusion in February. The series is completed by the long-awaited re-release of Shifted Phases - The Cosmic Memoirs Of The Late Great Rupert J. Rosinthrope - at the end of March.

These records, individually and as a catalogue, represent some of the most crucial moments in the Tresor label history, with the sound and mythic world of Drexciya undoubtedly inspiring generations.

Following the success of the label's Cassiopeia reissue, Mysticisms presents a second EP from Nail with four previously unreleased tracks of gliding deep house, dub techno and Balearic sunrise anthems, highlighting this respected talent.

Recorded between 1993 to 1999, predominately at the DiY collective's Strictly 4 Groovers studio in Nottingham, with the ever reliable Damian "Deadbeats" Stanley engineering. While edits and overdubs were completed at home, some were mixed down to DAT and cassette to became part of Nail and friends after party soundtrack, as much for pure enjoyment as appraisal.

Still a teenager for the early years of these recordings, Nail was honing his craft. Utilizing the ever faithful S1000 sampler, Juno 106, Oberheim Matrix 1000 and Roland SH101, influences from Future Sound Of London, the emerging 'West Coast Sound' rising in the US, Maurizio's dub fusion, through to the bouncing free party sounds emanating out from the Midlands to a now nationwide party scene embed in to machines.

Unreleased until now, the Cassiopeia release ignited an interest in these old cassettes and DATs, bringing them to life and offering further proof of Nail's place as one of the UK's best House producers.

Robert S (PT) joins the Gynoid label for an acid release with the artist paying homage to the silver-box, translating his influence of classic 303 sounds into three massive acid techno bangers. Japan techno master Takaaki Itoh comes along for the acid ride with an elegant techno remix of the title track Acid Was My School.

After the wonderful techno Album “The Compilation” on Moto Music 013 three years ago a new Album “Alchemist Dream & Future Tales” is coming out on same swiss label produced by the legend Bigeneric aka Marco Repetto. Those tracks are a bundle of beautiful and well preserved dark High-Tech Techno & Ambient tracks, produced between 1995 and 1999.

Dentistry is the dual energies of Rory Glacken and Jack Burton, Boorloo originals now living in Naarm. The pair have previously released an EP, "Ribbons," on their own Deep Water label, and a track on its local showcase comp "Greenhouse Vol. I" at the end of 2021. This transmission is their debut full length offering, channeled through hometown beacon Good Company Records.

"LP1" was created in unusual conditions between September and December of 2020, when the duo's shared Northcote studio became a site of remote collaboration. One person would start working on a track and leave the session open for the other, with no overlap of physical space shared. Responding to an invitation from GCR to make a record, the initial impulse was to write dance music. But what dance floor were these incorporeal partners writing for?

The album takes a spectral approach to the dance space, wrapping up air in a strata of textural tech, pulsing dub house and fractal illbience. Drawing on dub production techniques, "LP1" combines the structure of an ambient record with intricate percussive elements. Results are both atmospheric and material, abstract and palpable: a synthesis which expresses sonic relations of surface and depth, with the correlating mirage of light and shadow.

At times tinkering methodically and others in mercurial lurch, there is an immediacy to this album that stems from the way it was produced, using a mixing desk and outboard gear to rich and living effect. When we listen, we commune with the artists in the heat of working out of an otherworldly space, and feel every tweak and and turn. "LP1" is a current which carries the substance of process in communicable form. Intuitive and moving, breathing, dancing.

“Total Terror” is the second of two self-released cassette tapes by EBM-industrial act Front Line Assembly. At this point, Bill Leeb was the band's only dedicated member, with some help from Rhys Fulber. Most of the original cassette was remixed and remastered to be commercially released on CD in 1993 as “Total Terror 1”. This edition added three previously-unreleased bonus tracks from other old sessions: "Freedom", "Distorted Vision" and "Cleanser”. The original recordings of these songs were done in 1986 using nothing more than a four track recording system. This would be quite primitive for today's standards and sound quality will not be so effective, however the ideas are all there letting us enjoy some of the first songs created by Front Line Assembly.

The Initial Command” is the debut landmark album by Canadian EBM-industrialists Front Line Assembly, originally released in 1987 through Belgian label KK Records. Bill leeb shows us already a unique style, setting a benchmark for all that would follow. Fiercely original, not least for ‘it’s time’, from the glittering synths and harsh metallic percussion of the unarguably cinematic “Casualties” and the abrasive white noise on “Ausgang Zum Himmel”, to the punchy breaks and dramatic strings of “No Control”.

Trauma Collective returns to shock to your system on their fifth release, which comes courtesy of Spain's Rafael M. Espinosa aka Geistform. The Barcelona-based artist, also known for his exploits under the Univac alias, has crafted a singular style that exists at the interzone of IDM, digital noise and electro and having earned him releases on Pi Electronics, Femur and Hands Productions in recent years.
Espinosa executes four programs in sonic warfare on the Antena EP, all sounding akin to complex bitstream amplification. A multi-level barrage of frequencies play offense on opening cut "Proxima B", which sets the theme for more widescreen pulsations that gash the senses, as heard on the syntax error of "Note Repeat" and building up to a climax on the monochromatic soundstage of "Norc" - a jagged and angular exploration in bass artefacts and static redux.
Since unleashing the austere techno of Birmingham legend Mick Harris (as Monrella) and hometown hero Kwartz on unsuspecting ears, the Madrid-based collective has now ventured into more experimental spheres, as heard on the off-kilter mentalism of ASC's Loop Research and the brooding atmosphere of Makunaimadama's limited cassette release last year. Antena is the logical progression for the label's next chapter, where it continues to push the threshold of electronic music's outer limits.

After this long period of pandemic and staying at home, these tracks represent a glimmer on which to look out and have the hope of soon returning all together to party.

In this first work by Inigo Kennedy for Utch Elektronics, the experienced British producer, gives us 8 tracks impregnated with complex textures and built in a more moderate BPM than usual. Which indicates a much more contemplative environment, where the melody often becomes melancholic and where in other occasions it takes us to travel to lands as brown as futuristic, where the tracks fit perfectly into our collection of prints and footprints while dividing us an uncertain future. Where the sounds and spectacular musical arrangements cross us and counterbalance our fears and hopes.

Without a doubt this album has a misty, gloomy, brown character. Where the light enters moments; to disappear again. Like the mist that comes into town on a winter morning. This is a melancholic and deep album in which Inigo Kennedy manages to capture his more than two decades as a producer. And where we can meditate, each at his own pace, each of the tracks that compose it and the identity of the sound of Utch Elektronics.

New album by the irrepressible Dutchman... The '2080' part of the album title is taken from the Roland JV2080, a legendary digital synthesizer from the nineties that was used a lot in the making of the album. Bought second-hand in Tokyo for a couple of hundred dollars, it lends the record a very dewy eyed soul, whilst the 'Crystal' part of the title stands for the self-made 'DIY germanium crystal compressor' Legowelt used throughout the writing process. The album itself features ten new tracks of pure Legowelt music mainly recorded in De Hague in the past year, but also on the road during tours of LA, the Californian desert, Tokyo (which spawned 'Crystal Cult 2080') and Tejada Gran Canaria (where 'The Future of Myself' was written.) Where his last album The Paranormal Soul was an organic trip into misty forests, this one seems more concerned with medieval spirits; it's deeper, darker and the whole thing is tied together by a more coherent sense of ancient alchemy. Given the use of a DIY germanium crystal compressor during production, it's no wonder everything feels warm, fuzzy and mystic in a way that draws your attention in like that fabled philosopher's stone... glare too long and you might just turn to stone. Right from the opening track the mood is so encapsulating you are drawn right into Danny Wolfers' mysterious electronic world. From there various different tempos are explored and plenty of famed synthesiser work comes to the fore, wrapping grooves in trippy themes, impish spirits and plenty of organic lushness.

Pornceptual resident The Lady Machine has recently appeared on her Unterwegs Records label, on compilations via Ben Sims' Symbolism and Token, as well as on incendiary mixes for FJAAK's Spandau20 and Bassiani. Active as a vinyl DJ for over 20 years, the Brazilian-born, Berlin-based DJ/producer prepares her first release for Luke Slater's Mote Evolver with 'Magnify EP' this December.

The singer and composer makes his debut on Illegal Alien Records with a fantastic Album titled ‘Mercurio Rosa’ and we are extremely happy to be the platform to release this Masterpiece. ‘Mercurio Rosa’ will be release on a limited double 10′ Vinyl, Cassette Tape edition and Digital format.

2020 reboot for Detroit's legendary Metroplex.

The Label Say "Cologne based producer Bas Grossfeldt has crafted an outstanding release perfectly aligned with Juan Atkin’s brilliant Metroplex aesthetic. As a relatively new name in the scene, Bas Grossfeldt’s music sounds as if it were the results of decades of focused experience in the studio.

With a background in installation, choreography and performance art, Bas Grossfeldt is the artists alias to focus on the musical side of things. His deeply rooted interest in the relation of space and body is also translated into his music. The fusion of spaced-out textures, rhythmical distortions, cold waves of synthesis, and enough modern production prowess ensures a release saturated with innovation and abundant imagination. A rare release for the seminal Detroit label, which also represents Juan Atkins’ interest in the arts world and new, different approaches.

The exchange between the label head and the artist, initially came to life because internationally renown conceptual artist Mischa Kuball, knowing Juan from a joint project, sent him the demo of Bas Grossfeldt. Especially intrigued by the track „Lost In Translation“, Juan and Bas started exchanging, approaching the record as an „art project“ and a classical EP at the same time, for example leading into the cover being made by Bas Grossfeldt/Søren Siebel himself and including numerous hidden references to the sound.

Each track embraces an incredible array of sounds and styles, from soundscapes to mind-bending Techno – all equally as effective for the brain as the dancefloor.

“Lost In Translation” opens the release with a cinematic piece of electronica permeating with frozen emotion and melancholic soul. The beautiful track captures a foggy morning’s haze, the first chill of winter with only a gentle kick-drum keeping the cold from completely taking over. It is also accompanied with a hypnotizing abstract video by film-artist Svenja Voß.

Continuing in a dubby, winter haze is “Lost In Sensation” which floats alongside a sharp, metallic rhythmic arrangement and a gentle, ever-present kick drum. Deep, heavily saturated atmospheric textures sleep underneath the sounds while lucid melodies float in and out.

“Your Orbit” rounds out the release with the most club-ready production. Disorienting melodies and gritty synths capture a dreamlike perception while a tough kick drum and clattering percussion drives the music deeper into undiscovered dancing territories just left of center. "

Digging deep into the Chicago Rave vaults to re-issue the debut EP from Billy Nightmare aka 'Mystic Bill' Torres. Growing up in Miami, Bill was involved in various parts of the music industry, from working at Flamingo Record Pool, to playing guitar for the band Life In Sodom (80's Synth/Goth band). His interest in both House & Industrial music inspired him to make his move to the Windy City. Bill quickly became involved in the night scene with residencies at clubs like Shelter, Crobar, & Smart Bar. His studio work began with a remix of Kay Ladrae's 'Lack Of Love' with Vince Lawrence, followed by a string of releases, including an LP on Trax Records. He has recently relaunched two record labels and several releases and remixes out each year.

'Reality Check' was released in 1996 on Woody McBride's label Sounds. Originally the project was to be titled " Billy's Nightmare", but to avoid being jinxed for life, Torres decided to switch it to Billy Nightmare. He put the Mystic Bill alias aside, got a hair cut, changed his sound and became this new persona. 'Reality Check' consists of 4 tracks, recorded at Mirage Studios in Chicago in 1996. Two tracks on the A-side are dark thumpers and will haunt your head for days. Side B has 2 versions of the same song, lighter and funkier in mood both show the diversity Mystic Bill is capable of producing.

All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. Each EP is housed in a custom designed jacket by Eloise Leigh featuring a 90s photo of Billy Nightmare staring into TV static and includes a postcard with notes.

Turbo Recordings presents its grandest achievement yet, a reimagining of Plastikman's 1998 magnum opus "Consumed", Transformed as a new collaborative composition between original artist Richie Hawtin and musical genius Chilly Gonzales. This is an album three decades in the making, brought into the world by Executive Producer Tiga. A masterpiece of restraint, depth, and music as architectural vision, "Consumed" was profoundly influential, defining the soon-to-emerge minimal movement. Shortly after its 20th anniversary, Chilly Gonzales was inspired to compose accompanying piano pieces (counterparts) for each of the tracks and shared them with Tiga, who became the conduit between both artists and led the project to fruition on his label. Hawtin mixed the new combined work, allowing each artist their own space within the project,more of a sonic conversation between them than a conventional collaboration. Consumed in Key will be available as a deluxe triple vinyl LP. The artwork is a reinterpretation of the original album's, flipped to black and white and with the cutout size transposed to the dimensions of a piano key, the die-cut in the white outersleeve revealing a shiny black foil stamp on the black innersleeves.

Orphic Apparition is a new label born out of a transatlantic meeting of minds. Facilitated by a long, hedonistic party in one of present-day London’s ‘meanwhile use’ venues Grow Tottenham, Canadian producer Raf Reza and British acid house luminary Paul Chivers spent a precious day in the studio to record a 3 hour straight to DAT session before Reza's return to Canada. The result of this spontaneous yet intuitive collaboration blurs the lines between Chiver’s long-standing Ramjac Corporation alias and Reza’s genre-spanning approach to dub, breaks and house styles. Part of the early 90s rave scene and an important member of the blueprint-setting Irdial label, Ramjac locks heads with the self-professed ‘lazy music guy from Toronto’ to adapt their studio session into five separate mixdowns.

‘In The Grow’ begins with a bouncy, cut-up sounding Errorsmith-esque rhythm, the recurring fright night melody that distinguishes the record coming in all quick and powerful. The A2 ‘Rotten Mix’ offers a more traditional house approach in its composition, with dub FX and a nice DJ friendly outro. On the final uptempo choice the pair opt for a head-scrambling electro take. Choose your fighter! The ‘Swampy Dub’ on the flip really dismantles everything we’ve heard prior, slo-mo drums allowing a much different DJ experience and altering the freaky synthetic propulsion into an almost modern classical sound. A little like Paul Dresher’s eternal ‘Channels Passing’ (tip). Combined with the other edits this version almost becomes a totally different track. The final ‘Rootless Dub’ gives its clues in the title, removing all the tough drum sounds and allowing for an ambient decompression.

4 years can feel like a really long time – “Long Time No See“ was Achim Maerz’ frst Wake Up! EP back in 2013, “It’s Been A While“ is his frst track on Metal and Machines and it’s good to see that some things don’t change. it’s a true Achim Maerz track – focused on longing melodies, warmly distorted harmonies based on deep house foundations. “Listening To Machines“ features a kickdrum like a steam hammer in factory hall. For the right mind, even a factory can be an inspiring place.
Benjamin Brunn’s “Iron Copper Gold“ follows his manner of creating timeless and eternal soundscapes. It is less playful and takes the tension to higher grounds. Just like metal, it’s cold being touched and it doesn’t take long until it reaches body temperature. The fourth track Express Mode“ was released on Benjamin Brunns Drop LP in 2015. Achim Maerz’ remix sounds like a screwed-down uptempo house track – slow and heavy, but Benjamin Brunn’s quirkiness is undeniably there.

CAIVA exploded onto the scene last year with her folk, jazz and classical blend of hard-hitting techno on Take Me Higher on Lobster Theremin. Now the just-outside-of-Munich artist follows up one of the singles of the year with a complete body of work exploring high velocity sounds and experiences, and comes complete with two wicked remixes from Parisian producer Trudge and Julian Muller.

‘Vigour’ is an intergalactic, bass-driven jam utilising CAIVAs ghostly, folk-like vocals to haunting effect. A tale of two stories; the majority of the track is destined for the club, whilst the breakdown provides a pop-fuelled moment of contemplation. Emotional and powerful escapism. ‘Take Me Higher’ follows this depth of inspiration with a blend of euphoria and sadness with a high power cut of trance-techno that’s as devastating as it is beautiful.

Julian Muller is first up on remix duties as he takes on ‘Vigour’; a typically arcade-inspired trip through the modern trance-techno sound and the high-speed aesthetic of the nineties, before Trudge closes with an ethereal cut of typically textured rhythms within an anxious soundscape.

A 12” filled to the brim with talent, Schrödinger’s Box have collected three juggernauts of wave tainted electronics for the latest. Dmitry Distant teams up with Norwell for a partnership of serious intent. The pair deliver a trio of blackened tracks, opening with the ghoulish caverns of “Transient State” before the long shadows, acid stains and painful echoes of “Visionary.” The duo venture into brighter territory with the computer funk of “On A Verge of Veil”, crisp beats and bubbling melodies changing the tone. Following Beyond the War, Cute Heels returns to occupy the flip. The Colombian is immediately on it with the swirling mirrors of “Kuriyaki Horizons,” a kick drum offering solid footing in this entrancing piece. An aloof, yet alluring, disco hook takes hold for “Litua”, a low thump keeping time. The finale arrives with the clipped industrial gait of “Determinated In Order.” Marching to a military beat, this work is industrial inspired with Cute Heels keeping a close ear to the pressure release gauge.

"After shining a light on the Garage'n'Breaks of Persian and the Bump'n'House of Brian Bristol, Mysticisms' journeys to a source of love and inspiration, the epicenter of the 90s NYC club music's explosion and development.

Better known as the team behind The African Dream on Eightball Records, they feature on many early 90s NYC who's who of labels including Movin', Strictly Rhythm, Tribal and Oxygen Music Works.

Released as a 12", a 2 x 12" the want of a lot of US labels at the time to mirror the success of Hip Hop saw an attempt to grow House 'projects' from club EPs to being seen as artists via albums.

The EP starts with Opening, with warm keys that serve to show this is not your average 4 tracker, before soon giving way to the deep intensity of Dark Intervals. Tight drums and keys pushing, the vocal samples and swirling atmospherics all yield to a bass calling for loud sound systems.

On the reverse, an immense, spiritual take of NYC music in Innocence And Inspiration. Double bass, swirling arpeggio, tight claps, whistle strings, ridin' jazz fused break-beats and then pure piano cuts through.

To close, Are You With Me My Love?, here included to provide a repost to the grooves that have gone before. A song for sunset and sunrise, with lilting keys, shanty samples, vocal questions and a melancholic horn refrain.

n 2018, unknown artist James Infiltrate dropped an album of smart electro tunes that get everyone talking. It turned out to be an alias of James Burnham aka Burnski aka the Constant Sound boss aka Instinct, who is one of the most visible and prolific artists of recent years. Now some of the cuts from that album get choice remixes - AlexJann flips 'Flash' into a caustic electro banger with bright synths and twisted bass. Stojche goes for a lurching, loopy, scintillating and loopy remix of 'Isolate' that takes you to the stars and the flip offers up an acid laced electro cruiser from Sound Synthesis and Relpek mix of 'Reconnect' that is melodic and mysterious.

For the next chapter of No Signal Records Deluka invites Orbe. After his excellent releases on Axis, Mote Evolver, Token and last one on Non Series, Orbe signed this adventure with 3 amazing works. The EP entitled Post Cycle includes four mesmerizing techno trips. Focused on coherence and hypnotism. Three club oriented original tracks by Orbe on both sides, this EP is completed with one remix, made by Deluka with his personal melodic touch, minimalism percussions and deep sounds.

The second release of Ambushed Recordings is led by the well known dj and producer Steve Parker who has just made a succesful double EP and the young dj and producer Ben Garló who repeats in Ambushed.
This label based in Madrid give you the chance to play two melodic and rhythmic techno tracks by Steve Parker for the main side and two dark and modular tracks by Ben Garló. The result is a complete and powerful record.

This record is about love, grief, loss, and growth. Much of the music was written in the months leading up to my mother's death from pancreatic cancer in February 2020. Her prolonged illness taught me valuable lessons about impermanence and what it means to turn towards pain and suffering in order to remain connected with the world around me. Through not denying reality as it is, we are freed up to support those most in need of our love, compassion, and understanding. -Nick Turner

Grim Headlights features the latest acid mayhem by Peel MD member and Nerike Primate labelhead A. Stantz. Utterly advanced bassline tools for the dark techno clubs. All tracks recorded deep in the rural area of Sweden.

For "Spectres", a 6-track split release, Buttechno teams up with DJ SPEEDSICK, a Chicago-based artist, famous for his raw and uncompromising approach to sound. Together they explore sonic and textural possibilities of the extreme forms of dancefloor music employing distinct ways of sound manipulation. Buttechno's side features highly saturated textures being torn out, dissected and sewed back together with a wicked use of spectral processing. On the other side, Dj Speedsick, known for reamping his material with guitar amplifiers and cabinets, puts out tracks that bear unique sonic qualities and transform the usual sense of space and distance. For Number 6 on his Label Kluentah recrutes this mysterious guy called Kafkactrl who released on Vortex Records before. Six brain-throttling cuts of pure, ice-cold machine funk with melancholic pads and gut-punching basslines.

Greek producer MarcelDune arrives on Repitch for "Preternatural," a collection of euphoric hard dance bangers engineered with precision to engage the mind and the body at once. Now based in London after relocating from her home of Athens, MarcelDune fuses her arsenal of field recordings and samplers with modular synthesizer patterns, resulting in a hybrid sound that's both effortlessly experimental and dancefloor-focused at once. Following the "Trnc" EP that was released in Spring on DJ Plead's Sumac imprint, and the "The Happy Death" Tape on Low Income Squad, "Preternatural" builds on the wave with more fast-techno hard dance kicks and trance-adjacent supersaw synths. Opener' Flattening My Nerves' immediately shocks the brain into a peak-time flutter with vintage rave elements folded into pneumatic kicks that would rattle any dancefloor, big or small. Elsewhere, 'It's Ok To Have No Fun' pieces together a banger from rubbery trance synthesizer sounds and receives a stuttery broken-beat rework from Italian techno don (and Repitch co-owner) Pasquale Ascione aka Ascion. Title track 'Preternatural' rounds the EP off in fine style, reminding of vintage UK hard dance with bouncing kicks and the kind of analog wobbles that remind of now-distant mid-morning excess.

Emotional Rescue reissue 'Into Dark Water', the second album from UK post-industrial ambient pioneers O Yuki Conjugate (OYC).

The willfully obscure OYC formed in Nottingham in 1982 and have had a sporadic career on the outskirts of musical culture ever since. Initially associated with the early 80s post-industrial scene - along with Soviet France and Muslimgauze - OYC quietly forged their own brand of ambient music at a time when it was distinctly unfashionable to do so.

Always reluctant to categorise their sounds, OYC have been variously described as post-industrial, ambient, darkwave, tribal ambient, chill out, electronica and Fourth World. Take your pick.

'Into Dark Water' was recorded in 1986 over four days in an eight-track garage studio in Nottingham. Produced and engineered by John Kaukis, the result was a blend of flutes, percussion, electronics and loops that focused their sound and became for many the definitive OYC album.

Originally released in 1987 on the Leeds-based Final Image label, 'Into Dark Water' quickly sold out and has been highly sought after ever since. The re-issue, featuring a lovingly recreated sleeve, makes a vinyl version of this classic available again for the first time in over 30 years.
