VII Circle launches his Destroy To Rebuild imprint with a ferocious techno release entitled "Fearless EP", featuring Crystal Geometry and Buried Secrets remixes. Following on from his Boiler Room debut for the HARD DANCE series, VII Circle now turns his attention towards crafting a new label entitled Destroy To Rebuild that will focus on techno, industrial, EBM and uncompromising soundscapes.

"Fearless" sets an intense scene with rigorous and killer drum programming alongside stereo-spaced synths, giving rise to an immense aural trip. "Revolt" then echoes the atmosphere from the opening track while bringing an electric tension into the mix with layered-in zappy rave-esque chords and ruthless percussion, the breakdown will set on fire the dancefloors out there.

Next, French artist and Sonic Groove producer, Crystal Geometry, reimagines "Fearless" by bedding in aggressive vocals, shuddering synth lines and searing stabs. Finally, Monnom Black and Green Fetish Records imprint artist, Buried Secrets, sends "Revolt" into otherworldly territories with pulsing keys, saturated sub-frequencies and racing hi-hats.

Remastered edition of the cult classic cassette from the Swedish duo D.Å.R.F.D.H.S. comprised of Michael Isorinne and Jonas Rönnberg aka Varg. Exquisite frozen electro, death-industrual dirge and cadaverous pulse are at that core of this early emission from the
duo, no ambient calm, no remorse.

“When the Humans Will Walk With the Gods” is the name of the new vinyl production for No Way Records. It's signed by Moreno Mariotti, aka Dorian Gray, Italian DJ and producer, author of several prestigious releases for labels such as Ascetic, Illegal Alien, Edit Select and The Gods Planet for to name a few. This new work, composed of three originals and a remix made by Blazej Malinowski, opens with "Landing on the Shardana Planet", a piece with a great atmosphere supported by a tenuous drum machine that is never invasive. In "Stellar Wanderer" instead the rhythm becomes protagonist weaving in a sort of escape by enveloping analogical arpeggios. In side B we find “Airy Gravity”, an inspired track that brilliantly feeds electronic pulses with incisive rhythms. The ep close with a rework of “Airy Gravity” by Blazej Malinowski, which gives to the original a more caustic and powerful connotation, leaving it permeating with the same cosmic reflections. Awesome production in perfect balance between cerebral and physical fulfillment.

Gábor Lázár's colourful discography extends from sound art to his more recent dancefloor detonations. From his first release on Lorenzo Senni's Presto! label to his collaborations with Russell Haswell and his popular 'seizure inducing' team-up with Mark Fell entitled 'The Neurobiology of Moral Decision Making' to his last album 'Unfold' on The Death of Rave, where he balanced relentless, snappy rhythms and wonky melodic tones against more measured chords to create a deliciously fruity futurism.Gábor has now signed to Planet Mu for his new album 'Source' which moves forward with the dance music direction he started to formulate with 'Unfold'. Gábor first fell in love with electronic music simultaneously through dance music and it's IDM offspring, and also with harsher, noisier computer music on labels such as Editions Mego. This collection, which develops slowly over 8 tracks, works its way through his own take on these influences, moving across themes and loops as if each track is a different stage in a process. All these tracks sound incredible on a club sound system. The listener can hear nods to hoover bass and 2-step in 'Phase', or trance techno in ‘Excite', the dive-bombing bass of dubstep in 'Effort ' or the frantic techno influence of 'Route', emulated in the minimal forms Gábor has created with a sound artist's precision and a strict adherence to his vacuum-like grids. Gábor bends his sounds, abstracts them and re-contextualises them; basslines fire out of the grid at strange angles and squirm as if they've come alive, shards of melody shoot off at wild angles, attacking with drama and a thrilling sense of energy

One of our most celebrated and remixed tracks gets a fresh new remix for 2020. The First Rebirth is given the knob twiddling treatment by Reinier Zonneveld, head honcho over at Filth On Acid with whom we collaborated last year on Universal Nation and, as before, you can expect to see this banging slice cut to 12” vinyl alongside the Original Mix on the flip. Reinier started classical piano lessons at just 3 years old. Years later he started to compose his own pieces, but after attending many illegal raves, he started exploring electronic music production. Spending all of his student allowance on his first synthesizers, he managed to teach himself his outstanding production skills in his student dorm. After completing two master’s degrees in 2015, he decided to dedicate all of his time and effort to his ever-growing passion: producing and performing techno music. Soon after, his tracks were already getting picked up by some of the biggest names in the scene. In 2017 he founded Filth On Acid. The label gives him full creative control and serves as a platform for his wide view on techno music. His successes include Beatport overall No.1 smash, Things We Might Have Said, which featured on his well-received artist album Megacity Servant and was also licensed to a Hollywood production. Next to this and the numerous amounts of releases from his hand, he collaborated together with Carl Cox and released two official remixes for Moby.

The remix sets off with a huge, thumping kick drum and slicing hi hats to the backdrop of an intense ambience. That ever familiar melody starts to fade in, teasing us alongside lush bass stabs. A short break reveals more of the melody before those slamming kicks return and take full control once more. The main break takes us right back to the old skool as the melody is unleashed, complete with those infectious vox sounds. The energy levels rise as we head to the climax where a raucous snare roll takes us over the edge and back to full-on mode. A top-notch techno joint that will rock the floors, no doubt.

Keplrr returns to Control Freak with ‘Reconstructed Club’ - a collection of high-definition techno with a meticulous focus on sound design, careful arrangement, and a painstaking attention to
detail.

A-Side ‘Esoteric Functions’ is a screw-face roller full of anxious, rising pads, driving percussion
and an insistent sub rumble. On the flip, 'Convection' continues down the wormhole with a
propulsive, hypnotic low-end throb & trickling, dissonant arpeggios. Finally, the chugging triplet
groove of ‘Bods Realm' rounds off the journey with hair-raising whispers and warped, dubby
textures.

’Reconstructed Club’ is a call to an extraterrestrial dance floor, a catapult through the vortex -
strap in for the ride.

After racking up a handful of recent releases on Macro and Field Records, L'estasi Dell'oro has returned from the woodshed to mark his debut solo EP on Voodoo Down Records, the label he co-founded in Brooklyn nearly a decade ago.
Soaring guitars, twisted violins, dusty pianos, tolling bells, stretched drums, and outward-bound synths are all features of the sonics presented here across the four songs on this record. Additionally, the A1 feature song 'Proserpina' revisits the vocals of Crystal Boyd,
the singer featured on the L’estasi tracks from the early Voodoo Down compilations which helped define his sound in the techno world. Along with the three original songs, his Penalune alias strips the A1 tune to it's floating core elements for full atmospheric immersion.

As Ociya, hardware freaks Tin Man (Johannes Auvinen) and Patricia (Max Ravitz), come together in unholy acid matrimony on a EP (here) and definitive double-album, Powers Of Ten (coming up on april 27).

We know both sides well. Over a prolific run of records for Acid Test and his own Global A, Auvinen has expounded upon the promise of "Nonneo" (recently named one of Resident Advisor's 2010-19: Tracks Of The Decade), unearthing new, emotional vistas from the Roland TB-303. Ravitz, meanwhile, matches Tin Man in studio ethic, establishing himself as one of North America's hardware masters on records for Ghostly and Opal Tapes.

The clouds pile up in the Dresden autumn sky, but Uncanny Valley still sees a little bit of blue on the horizon. And why not looking on the bright side of life for a change? It's appropriate. At least if you have five killer tracks in your bag. Anyway, the collaboration with the Leipzig graphic designer Doppeldenk proved to be very fruitful and has now produced the fourth of seven children. So, after PINK, RED and ORANGE, here is BLUE. May life be good to you. The record opens with the aptly titled, Chicago-inspired MIND TRIP by Credit 00, the Aldous Huxley from your neighborhood. The Leipziger takes you on a journey on your own nerve pathway with occasional stops at the hottest spots in your body. Local buddy Gnista is piling up layer by layer for the UK meets Electro affair that is PLAYTIME WORKTIME. It's an atmospheric monster that needs to be climbed first. But as soon as this is done, a fresh breeze blows around your nose. In BRECHT HAT ER, the mysterious Dresden underground formation AGB spreads wisdom in staccato mode, accompanied by Cold Wave-like music, which could also have been created in the shadows of the Berlin Wall. After a long time of hiatus, there is also a sign of life again from Uncanny Valley's Break SL, who proves with BYE BYE 627 that he still masters the art of producing House music that is as edgy as it is catchy. In similar veines comes IN TRANSIT from Qnete who channels the ghosts in his machines into an emotional and powerful House track.

While Headstrong Records split the debut drop between Randomer and Clouds. It's now time for the duo Clouds to go solo. Starting off with 4 brutal and destructive techno tracks!

The sensory reaction to persuasive brain-wave activity suddenly makes Susan wonder: was that Dexter, or merely a sly fox? The glimpsing shadow disappears. I'm lost at a club but that feeling is good. The label ZIEMIA (Polish for EARTH) is centred around a growing group of friends from Poland. Administered by Bartosz Kruczyñski (Earth Trax), Adam Brocki and Jan Wójcicki (Private Press), it is a natural extension of a studio in the heart of Warsaw, where the majority of their music is being created. Ambient sounds and club vibes make the foundation layers of this collaboration, and you can see this theme evolving in some of their first releases on labels such as Growing Bin, Into The Light, Shall Not Fade, Indigo Aera, Phonica Records and Dopeness Galore. ZIEMIA's focus positions itself between club music and ethereal with an Eastern European background.

The second release captures different shades of club environment, from the straight-forward, rough DJ tool by Earth Trax and Newborn Jr. (A1) to deeper and more ethereal dub oriented grooves of Private Press (A2, B1). The last cut on the EP is an after hour downtempo anthem (Earth Trax and Newborn Jr. again), with uplifting pads and chilling leads layered over deep TR-808 drums.

Francois X presents Irregular Passion Reshape, a 12 track LP that re-works his album of the same name, due for release in November on Demented XXX. The original full length LP, released in 2018 explored themes of euphoria and melancholy. Entertaining the listener with sensual atmospheres and unpredictable fervour, all designed to mirror the emotions and intensities of nightlife. With Blade Runner-esque soundscapes and bassy club tracks, Francois X played with a variety of genres and references, holding the piece together with cinematic and hedonistic atmospheres. Francois X has invited an accomplished list of friends and artists, both established and newcomers, to re- imagine the album tracks for Irregular Passion Reshape, building a community of like-minded producers that boldy represent what XXX is all about. From Bjarki's frenzied IDM exploration of breaks and golden era dubstep on 'Blurry Youth', to Anthony Linell aka Abdullah Rashim's experimental reshape of 'Down Under'. The collection marks a beautiful transmigration of the original work, embodying the diversity and myriad influences in Francois' own music. 'I wanted a complete rework of my album, containing a wide range of musical directions. A good representation of what XXX is all about. The important thing for me was to have some real transformations on my original material, in a way its a complete new album.'

Martin Haidinger has released music on Worm Interface and Toytronic Records as Gimmik and is one half of Abfahrt Hinwil.

Released initially on hand-numbered cassette on Martin's own Hidden Reality micro imprint in October 2019, Entre Les Chambres gets the remaster treatment by n5MD for release on vinyl in early summer of 2020.
Entre Les Chambres is a highly personal work for Haidinger. And is his first new publicly released Gimmik since he appeared on our MD8 compilation back in 2004. We are proud to bring you the album on limited edition silver with black and white splatter vinyl on June 12th, 2020.
Those familiar with Martin Haidinger's work as Gimmik might be surprised by an entirely beatless return from Haidinger. However, those that have followed his music know that his synth work is undoubtedly his signature, and Entre Les Chambres' two long-form works bring his trademark to the fore, free from the confines of the grid.

Unknown collective Lost Trax return for a third EP on Delsin following two previous outings since 2017. Also releasing on the likes of Tabernacle and Frustrated Funk, they deal in emotional music that comes direct from the heart and heads straight for the dance floor. 'De Laye' is a quick and slick, deep and dubby techno cut with plenty of room for the twisted bassline and busy, bristling drums. 'Surface Treated' trips you out with sci-fi sounds and electro influences that recall classic Detroit as they surge into the future and 'Interstate' then gets perfectly dreamy and far sighted, with thoughtful chords and keys drifting up top about tight, punchy drums. This most serene and sublime EP ends on 'Still', a crisp electro cut with icy keys and plenty of machine made drum funk. It makes for a most stylish and timeless collection overall.

Scalameriya returns to Perc Trax after the success of 2016's
'Kepslok'. Since then he has continued to break new ground
both as a solo artist and via his ongoing collaboration with Italian
producer VSK, playing across Europe and releasing on a
number of key labels whilst growing his own Genesa imprint.
Now for his first release of 2018 he takes a giant leap forward
both musically and technically with the three track statement of
intent that is his 'Hellzone Megapunk EP'. Each track
demonstrates new techniques and approaches not heard in his
music before, from the 4/4 versus broken beat cage fight of the
title track to Crucible's rolling polyrhythms and the otherworldly
processed vocals of the closing track.
As the first Perc Trax release of the year this EP sets out
everything the label seeks to achieve, a combination of sonic
innovation that manages to keep attention fully focussed on the
dance floor at all times.

Amnesia Scanner announces Tearless, the Berlin-based duo’s second LP. As Amnesia Scanner founders, Ville Haimala and Martti Kalliala watch their icy home country of Finland thaw, the staggering scale of political recalibration and the worldwide climate crisis to come blows open old norms. This album reflects what it feels to experience Earth at a time when collapse is emerging as the prevailing narrative.


The musical scope of the record is expansive, with guest vocalists—the Peruvian artist Lalita and the Brazillian DJ/producer LYZZA—descending into a vast uncanny valley of sound. Tearless follows the 2014 AS Live [][] mixtape, 2015 audio play Angels Rig Hook, two EP’s for Young Turks, and their 2018 debut album, Another Life (PAN).



“There’s a looming sense of radical change,” they note, connecting the present to a fin de siecle horror and curiosity regarding what new world is being ushered in. Someone called Tearless a “breakup album with the planet.” To which Amnesia Scanner responds, on the LP’s closing track: “Youwill be fine, if we can help you lose your mind.”


With the crossfader on Tearless sitting closer to pop than abstraction, so too does the audience for this record widen in scope. Listening through: Opener “AS Enter” sets a sombre tone until the fucking riffs of the second track(the titular, Lalita-helmed “Tearless”) make clear there’s plenty of roaring to come. A feature from metalcore band Code Orange on “AS Flat” follows, along with “AS Trouble” (feat. Oracle, the third, machinic ghost-member of Amnesia Scanner) and together they hit as black-metal-gaze dirges. At the album’s midpoint, Lalita returns for the beautiful, operatic breakdown of “AS Acá” (released as a single in 2019), before “Call of the Center” guides listeners through three club ready tracks—the grain-processed dembow of “AS Too Late” and “AS Going” with LYZZA, and then the ambientheadbanger “AS Labyrinth.” Closing “Tearless” is the sadboy grunge of “AS U Will Be Fine” with a clear statement of intent: doom, despair, insanity, absurdity, it’s all natural, all cathartic, and all OK. Refuse like the ‘90s and party like the ‘20s—if that seems senseless, you are doing it right.

Soma welcome back long time collaborator Tony Scott under his Edit Select alias with The Bridge. Having recorded such classics as X-Track under Percy X, Tony has since found new depths with his Edit Select moniker which has seen countless releases on his own self titled label and more. With an album currently planned for release on Soma in early 2018, Edit Select takes his first steps onto his hometown label with this new single.

Suitably deep production is always the order of the day with any Edit Select release and this one is no different. Title track, The Bridge, begins with a chugging beat before gradually undulating into epic soundscapes. Flux takes a darker turn as twisted synths resonate throughout the typical atmospheric backdrop. Tonalist creates more rhythmic scenes with intense percussive elements keeping the track moving.

Having made his debut on Drumcode in January, the evergreen Italian producer is back with another four-track EP to follow up the enormously well received 'Prisma' EP. Supported by DJ's from across the spectrum from Drumcode stalwarts like Alan Fitzpatrick (Prisma) and Slam (Self Control) to house music legend Erick Morillo (Back To Zero), Paganini's reputation within techno circles is well established with a recent discography that boasts Plus 8, Form and Octopus Recordings alongside Drumcode.

Eros sets the tone for the EP with a hypnotic fusion of mechanical robot funk pitched to a shunting percussive groove that weaves its way through subtle washes of faint vocal snippets. Egoism ups the intensity with a cavernous big room workout that pairs heavyweight throbbing bass and harmonic rhythms to create a deep, snaking sonic ride.
The Gypsy slips back down through the gears to work up a bumping groove that combines exotic tribal rhythms with otherworldly effects and wonky vocoder vocals. Finally, Wooden Toys continues the percussive feel of the EP with a slamming tech cut built on a swaying groove and punctuated with distinct rhythms and drawn out pads.

Mørbeck aka the sample magician, brought a mystical power mood to the track, by reinventing it through the original samples into a catchy tune.

Remco Beekwilder strength is the raw 90s sound which is always a melodic energy bomb what he reflected perfectly in the Mute track.

Farrago made a minimalistic version of the track. Like a wave, carries away everyone. The perfect set starter!

Vril recreated the track as an analog electrical groove bomb, which made every dance floor burn.

The surreal imagery and emotions these works evoke felt connected to the music on many levels, and informed the course of the album until its completion. For over a decade, Max Ravitz has been obsessively working in his home studio, crafting electronic music under various guises. His primary solo project, Patricia, has been a mainstay in New York's DIY electronic music scene, with releases on labels such as Opal Tapes, Nona, and Ghoslty's Spectral Sound imprint. Over the course of 10 songs, Maxyboy presents a more varied stylistic approach than past Patricia releases, shifting away from some of the `lo-fi' sounds he's known for. With clear nods to electro, acid, IDM, and techno, Maxyboy puts on display Ravitz's eclectic range of influence-- from collaborators and contemporaries, to classic innovators alike. Titled after his family's childhood nickname for him, Maxyboy serves as a window to Ravitz' range of musical interests. "Myokymia," "Downlink" and "Crushed Velvet" highlight Ravitz's penchant for intricate drum programming; while album closer Ctenophora hints towards his drumless sensibilities. Ranging from driving and somatic ("Dripping," "Turtle Funk"), to ambient ("Julia Set") to acid ("Dew Point," "Dr. Oetker's Ristorante"), each song carries an evocative, questioning quality-- something any listener can enhance for themselves by closing the eyes and letting the sounds course through.

Over the years, American composer Rafael Anton Irisarrihas become ubiquitous within the spheres of ambient, drone and electronic music. Whether it’s through Irisarri’scelestial long-form albums or his lauded audio engineering credentials for countless artists and labels, Irisarri’s consistent dedication to his craft never wavers from the forefront.

While Irisarri’s compositions typically field an array of modern ambient overtones threaded through oceanic symphonies with tape loops, bowed electric guitar and vast washes of overdriven sound, his recent debut album for Dais Records, Peripeteia, portray these common themes giving way to metal and classical influences that emphasizes Irisarri’s melancholic tendencies. These unique overtures, coupled with his signature layering of distortion and bleached-out textures, fabricate an audible environment that would seemingly be at oddswith, yet gracefullycomplementeach other. In Irisarri’s own words, “My previous works internalize any exterior forces or circumstances, while trying to make sense of the world. Peripeteia reverses that approach, focusing on the personal in order to tell a wider human story.”

The emotional depth found throughout Peripeteia is impeccably on display with the track, Mellified. A collaboration with Spanish composer Yamila, the choral arrangements bring to mind the sacred music of Arvo Pärt, while her voice combines the Andalusian “Cante jondo” style with medieval modes, almost drowning in layers of octave fuzz distortion and dystopian synths patterns. On Arduous Clarity, the bright arpeggiating melody that churns throughout, offers the initial glimmer of optimism in an otherwise decaying tale of personal turmoil. This encouraging glimpse is short lived however, as the song Refuge/Refuseseemingly plummets into the mourning depths of somber despair. A chorus of voices steadily crawls from its desolate terrain –a sea of broken spirits, eternally resigned to strain and bellow their final lament. Fright and Control, a piece which is equally soul churning, seems to possess a satisfying resolve, as if after years of searching, one’s very salvation has been laid to rest through the acceptance of mortality and the enlightenment in death. Irisarri’s complexity is utilized to a forcible success, slowly pulsing throughout the foreground of his audience, further emphasizing the impending dread of resolve.

Artist statement: "Peripeteia is about the last few years, sudden reversals in fortune, illness, and comforting mortality. These sudden changes in personal life mirrors the sociopolitical transformations happening at a larger global scale in countries all over the world. Previous Irisarri works internalize exterior forces/circumstances while trying to make sense of the world. Peripeteia reverses that narrative, focusing on the personal to tell a wider human story."

Recondite marks his return to Hotflush with the epic, potentially summer-defining 'Caldera' and a sequel to his 2012 hit 'DRGN'. The Bavarian artist has undergone a dazzling rise since that time, and one which is reflected in the increasing opulence of his music.

'Caldera', with its dramatic arpeggios and crescendos, is unabashed big-field decadence. Returning to Earwiggle for the first time since one of our early hits (his Midwest Whippersnappers EP with Paul Birken), the inimitable Freddy Fresh provides some choice material from the year 1996, remastered and ready for modern consumption.

We start with the tunnelling acid tour-de-force of "Abraxas", that first appeared on Freddy's "Analog Space Funk" album on Analog, followed by a similarly spaced out (yet previously unreleased) track of the same period, "Aerial". Originally released on Cari Lekebusch's Hybrid label, "Logical Grooves 1" is prototype supernatural techno on an almost morbid tip, while "Barogue" is a classic Freddy Fresh cut to wrap up (fittingly taken from his "Accidentally Classic" album on Harthouse), where weighty Mr. Fingers style chords play over an epic and deep-building exotic soundscape. "1996" marks a special snapshot in time - when Freddy Fresh did 'out there' techno in a way that no-one else did, techno that we believe will always stand the test of time. Also included is a special A4 poster of a young Freddy patching in the studio, giving a small glimpse of the Minneapolis great at his weird and wonderful work.

More Than Less, started from Seoul, South Korea, came back with 4th Vinyl release Folka EP, composed by Joton, owner of Newrhythmic Records, based in North Spain, Leon. He is also part of More Than Less records, releasing "Fragment EP" with Soolee remixes in 2014. It had great success and been supported by many producers like Surgeon, Pacou, DVS1, Invite ,Lakker, Paul Mac, Samuli Kemppi, Unam Zetineb, Jeroen Search and many more. "Folka EP" has two new tracks, called "Frontier" and "Sendice". These two tracks are remixed by Japanese Techno hero, DJ Nobu, and Korean Techno pioneer, Soolee, again. The "Folka EP" represents the conjunction of AsianEuropean Techno, which More Than Less has been pursuing. "Frontier" has pure anlalog synth sounds with addicted melody line, based on rough sound textures. It s obviously for the peak time of the dance floor. "Sendice" has unique grooves which Joton s trademark and adding rhythmic loops gives numerous dance feelings. "Frontier", DJ Nobu remixed, gives hypnotic raw sounds and exotic feelings. Indigo is Icelandic artist’s Exos fourth studio album, arriving almost two full decades after his last LP. In the meantime, the seasoned producer has never stopped to refine his production style, mastering an aesthetic that feels at once minimalist and yet richly detailed. Spanning the organic and the electronic, drawing from early dub techno blueprints and comprising the beauty of his austere homeland. From this Exos expands an absorbing atmosphere, sustaining the primal power of nature within compositions that hold an exalted presence yet never go over-board, instead, they gently push along even in their most intense moments thus vastly transcending the pure club context. The albums thirteen tracks are a sonic bliss to indulge in, each element is crafted so meticulously and balanced with care against its counterparts. Multidisciplinary NYC artist Gavilán Rayna Russom launches her own label Voluminous Arts, dedicated to highlight electronic and experimental artists whose work challenges fixed categories of genre and categorization. Her aim is to create a platform for multidisciplinary work and events. The inaugural release being her second solo album as Gavilán Rayna Russom 'Secret Passage', following up last years 'The Envoy, an homage to the East Side Rail Tunnel in Providence, Rhode Island, and the friendships she made there.

In Rayna’s words:
“I grew up in Providence, Rhode Island in the 1970’s and 80’s. The booming jewelry and textile industries of the previous decades had pulled out by that point. The Italian mob ran most details of the day to day operations of the city. As kids coming up in that environment, before the internet, me and the people I hung out with didn’t know anything else and we worked with what we had to entertain ourselves. We found places that had been forgotten by market interests and made them spaces of creative community building. One of the most special of these places was the East Side Rail Tunnel. Running for almost exactly one mile beneath the city’s streets, the tunnel and nearby Crook Point Bridge were unsupervised autonomous zones where I tasted the possibilities of a world without surveilance. The tunnel was particularly important in my creative development because not only was it a marginal zone apart from monetized spaces of creative consumption, but it also had specific experiential properties. It had a bend in it which meant that when you got to the middle of it you were in complete darkness, and I learned quickly that when you spend enough time in complete darkness you start to hallucinate, which I liked. The acoustics were also remarkable; long natural delays and harmonic-reinforcing reverberances. Making any sound in there added layers of acoustic effects which made noises physical and fluid and, combined with the complete darkness, absolutely dissolved boundaries between internal and external experience. I started hanging out there when I was 14 and continued to return there regularly until development, gentrification and policing eventually made it inaccessible. By the mid ‘90s it was sealed off with progressively more impenetrable barriers. Nowadays it looks very different. This music is about some of the significant experiences I had in this beautifully neglected place and the people I had them with.”

SWIMS returns with their third release since last summer’s romance with London’s Kit Records which spawned two beautiful albums by Romeo Poirier and Electric Capablanca.

Leaving behind the soothing natural landscapes of the previous releases, Finomehanika is an intricate 42-minute machinist journey combining the frayed melancholia of Vladislav Delay’s recently reissued Multila, with the strangely real-sounding yet otherworldly mechanics of Autechre in their Confield era. However, Finomehanika sounds thoroughly unique. It makes heavy use of the piano and field recordings for depth and ambience. The line between synthesized sound and manipulated recordings blur to a point where one becomes the other. The often subtle use of field recordings prevents us from drifting too far into the abstract, keeping us grounded in a fragmented, confusing but familiar environment.

Finomehanika is Robert’s first solo release in 20 years since 2000’s Albumski on Phthalo. The sleeve was designed by Michael Tan known for his previous work with artists such as Blanck Mass and Dopplereffekt. The album features on piano Robert’s brother Miro, better known for his releases as Qwerty. The brothers also recently collaborated on 2019 album Na Vrućem Krovu by Robert’s art-pop band Marinada.

Form and Function's second release comes by the hand of A. Brehme. Over the years the Brussels based artist has build a solid reputation as a DJ through both frequent appearances as well as curating his own nights at Fuse Club in Brussels. This alongside being a co- resident together with Peter Van Hoesen at Technoon and playing in clubs such as De School, Grelle Forelle, Suicide Circus and more. After years of silent but devoted work in the studio A. Brehme is ready to release his debut EP consisting of four powerful cuts that perfectly reflect the sound and mindset he gained his reputation with. On the A-side things start of with 'Inityiat' which simply can be seen as a distorted form of 'Initiation'. Starting of hypnotic, the track slowly progresses adding a plethora of subtle percussive elements. An ethnic and mysterious chanting complements the latter throughout the sonic voyageand caters for a promising start. Part two of the A-side, 'Hata Isler', takes off where 'Inityiat' ended, but amplified in strength. Subliminal voices manipulated harmoniously into the pads are mixed with sophisticated alternations of snares and hats. The result: a perfect continuation of the spirit the first track. Side B commences with 'Insan', a title that serves the track right. Straight forward, upgrading the tempo of the previous tracks into a drive that's impossible to resist. The maelstrom of drones and soundscapes on a layer of thundering sounds, induce a new stage of sonic hypnosis, until it gradually phases out into silence. 'Tzotzil' on the other hand is a skillfuly crafted tooltrack that's build around a glooming and reverbing baseline.

There can be little doubt as to the influence Alan Fitzpatrick has had on the current Drumcode sound. A consistent provider of musically inventive techno that takes its inspiration from a wide palette of influences; Fitzpatrick tracks are immediately recognizable for their refusal to conform to the norm. This latest release, the subject of much hype and anticipation, is no different. Lead track, 'Skeksis' conjures up an unlikely fusion of a pumped-up dub techno groove and a 90's Trance vocal to create a slow-burning, emotive bomb, while 'For An Endless Night' rolls out a steady driving rhythm that provides the backdrop for a distinctive chiming melody to sweep in and take over.

Gaston aimed to depict an adventurous journey, where each track captured a specific moment over an imaginary, daring ascension. An intimate meeting with nature, the album rises from the ground to our highest peaks - with the two extremes captured in the album's artwork. Field recordings from Patagonia enhance the feeling of freedom, one can only find from the great outdoors. Adorned with drifting harmonies; shimmering guitars; dense pads of cloud; gentle rising mists; the sound of shallow rivers and morning bird-calls, it all comes together to create a vivid and intrepid scene told across a variety of full-length tracks and short interludes - breathers and moments to reflect amongst mother-natures finest grandeur.

Exit planet earth by 20/20 Vision is a new series of V/A vinyl releases, selected and compiled by Ralph Lawson. There is a truly heavy weight selection of artists involved in the project and the first edition 'carbon' leads with contributions from two of the most influential electro producers of all time The Hacker and 214, who both deliver unforgiving hard hitting excursions to future worlds. On the other side Reedale Rise sheds some light with 'Lux' before the record is beautifully closed with an uplifting composition for space travel - 'The Gap' by Derek Carr. Artwork is supplied in a collectible series of spectrographs in limited edition spot colour sleeves.

Ever since the early 90s, The Mover has set the standard for apocalyptic melodramatic techno and has been praised as one of the leading artists of Planet Core Productions. In 2018 he returns with - Undetected Act From The Gloom Chamber', an album which implies all the goodness and fears he is renowned for. Hi there, this is the already third installment of the Familiar Faces anthology. For those who missed the first two: all the contributors to this fine selection of tunes are whether label residents who already provided their fair share to its backcatalogue or friends and affiliates, the Riotvan family hooked up with in one way or another.

On the A-side the opening track Conio is from the collective r²π, a minimalist delivery of ominous yet light-hearted deep techno that takes a deep dive into their collective mastery.

Next, Tornio by Ruhig is a deep yet hypnotic track with a very interesting pad that drives the track into a more percussive realm that encourages the listener into introspection.

The B-side starts with Incudine, a masterful broken beat by the legendary outfit Retina.it. A track that takes you to complete immersion of sound; driving, dark yet hopeful and refined.

Closing out the record PRG/M brings Morsa, a powerful approach to a deep techno bomb with unexpected moments of intensity that will for sure get the dance floor moving.

David & Stephen Dewaele (aka Soulwax/2manydjs) have always been fascinated by collecting instruments and recording gear. Their passion hasn’t been born by completism: simply every new item inspires a world of possibilities. The one item that always eluded them was the EMS Synthi 100—a huge and rare analogue synthesizer, of which there were only 31 ever produced, that can create a near infinite array of sounds.

The album sounds simultaneously futuristic and retro as it highlights the versatility, uniqueness and warmth of the Synthi 100. Remarkably, a synthesizer that was first launched in 1971 continues to excel in 2020, aided only by patient restoration and fresh creative input. Each side of the vinyl features a long piece of music, each of which is divided into three movements. While they can be heard separately, David & Stephen urge people to listen to the entire experience from start to finish.

‘DEEWEE Sessions Vol.01’ is a highly collectible package featuring the album on heavyweight 180g vinyl along with a fully-illustrated 48-page book which explores the background behind the album and history of the Synthi 100. The book compiles a foreword from David & Stephen Dewaele; an introduction from 3030, the specific Synthi 100 unit that was used for the album; a history of its creation and an exploration of its sounds; and finally an interview with Ivan Schepers, the IPEM technician who has been 3030’s long-term custodian.

Fittingly, this tribute to such an elegant machine is presented in a beautiful style, art directed by Ill-Studio. The vinyl is held in a perforated ‘patch bay’ cover with a fully artworked inner sleeve, while both the disc and book are housed in a clear PVC bag.

Perc Trax is proud to announce Breaking The Seal; the debut album from Ghost In The Machine. Having already hit hard on the label with their "One Louder" (2017) and "King Dead" (2018) EPs now the time has come for them to expand their range even further across the ten tracks that make up Breaking The Seal.

Frank Nitzinsky & Nils van Lingen began collaborating as Ghost In The Machine in 2016, first releasing on the Genosha Basic label before working with Perc Trax. As remixers they have turned in acclaimed rerubs of Paula Temple's Joshua & Goliath and Perc & Truss' Leather & Lace whilst their DJ performances began in their home country of the Netherlands but soon took them across Europe including making their Russian debut recently in Moscow.

From the extended scene setting intro of title track "Breaking The Seal" to the genre fusing antics of "Combo Breaker", "Form Of Steam" and "Nexus 96" these 8 tracks build on the established Ghost In The Machine sound, but add something new to each track, taking their sound in directions we've not heard from them before and which we might not have expected.

Ghost In The Machine return to Perc Trax to follow up their break out 'One Louder EP' that came out on the label last summer. Since then they've been focusing on their own Genosha Basic label, touring to great acclaim around Europe and remixing Perc & Truss' 'Leather & Lace', turning an already large track into a peak-time festival munching bomb.

Across the four tracks on their 'King Dead' they widen their sound, floating synth arpeggios over their trademark rock solid kicks and adding a deeper level of ambience that lurks with intent underneath their driving percussive sound.

MANSUR is the newly initiated project by Jason Kohnen (ex-The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, ex-The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation) joined by Dimitry El-Demerdashi (ex-Phurpa) and introducing Martina Hórvath on vocals. The sound of MANSUR navigates between the waters of musical fantasy and reality - it morphs and blends traditional instrumentation with modern day electronica.

Using kalimba, violin, cello, ney, erhu, zhonghu, jinhu, kemenche, dilruba, bansuri, rammerdam, double bass and various percussive instruments such as cajon, castanets, krotal and various organic shakers and drums MANSUR leads the listener into mystical and magical unknowns, that lie far past the realms of material perception. The result is a new unique sound which is at the same time warm, dark, misty, cosmic, mystical, cinematic and dynamic. It's an escapist journey.

MANSUR are starting this trip with the five-piece debut record called "Temple" followed by the debut album "Karma" in late 2020.

The globe-trotting Robert Millis returns to Helen Scarsdale for this beautifully fragile album of dissolved glass rendered as a collage of recontextualized minimalism. To astute listeners, Millis should be a household name due to his work in the unpredictably diverse Climax Golden Twins as well as his impeccable curations for Sublime Frequencies (collections include the Deben Bhattacharya: Men and Music on the Desert Road and Indian Talking Machine books). Hie previous solo work include Relief (released here on The Helen Scarsdale Agency in 2013) and The Lonesome High for the Sun City Girls’ Abduction Records in 2016. His scholarship into the hidden corners of music across the world has also earned him Guggenheim and Fulbright fellowships.

Related Ephemera is an album composed mostly from the hiss, the crackle, the surface noise of 78rpm shellacs and wax cylinders. “Horrifying,” Millis explains “is the concept to record collectors that vinyl degrades and can be easily damaged. however, initially records were considered ephemeral, especially 78rpm records. They were novelties. Fleeting. Entertainment.” Millis intends for the album to be a feedback loop whereby the patina of handling, playing, living with the record will circle back to the original source material. Furthering that metaphor, Millis amplifies and dilates feedback tones generated from his collection of vintage gramophones.

That said, Millis does cite the intrusion of exactly one field recording, a broken toy, and a few notes from a cello. But the construction of these rarified tones, crispy textures, ghostly rattles, and fluid resonance that ripples through all of Related Ephemera has its origins in the tactile nature of the vinyl medium. It’s hardly the stuff of sentimental nostalgia though. Related Ephemera is more an act of time travel, slipping backwards and forwards with the scratch of a needle (Watch out! What pre-recorded needle jump sound is not your turntable going haywire!). The emotional core to the album is that of a resigned melancholy, almost Bergman-esque in its starkness but not without a brief moment of dark humor.

Here is an album that aligns itself aesthetically with Nurse With Wound’s Soliloquy For Lilith, Philip Jeck’s more languid collages, and even some of Harry Bertoia’s sculptural atmospherics.

The vinyl was mastered and cut by Helmut Ehler at D&M Berlin, whose expertise was necessary given that part of the original compositions from Millis’ reworked surface noise were exceedingly problematic to cut. The D&M cut does temper the composition into a mysterious, diaphanous cloud; where the digital-only mastering provides a cascade of insects gnawing within your inner ear. Two facets. One piece of music.

Boothroyd releases a remix 12" from debut album on Fnord Communications the London / LA based label recently responsible for unearthing post-punk band Shame. Cutting his teeth in 2014 with debut EP Idle Hours on revered NY electronic imprint Triangle Records, and more recently contributing to critically acclaimed Grime LP's on 1-800-DINOSAUR (Trim) and Rinse (Maxta), Boothroyd reappears in 2018 with 'Pure Country' a typically idiosyncratic and forward thinking debut album.

'Chris Carter's Chemistry Lessons Volume One.1: Coursework' was created using a newly-formed piece called 'Bongo Glow' and reworkings of three tracks from the original album.

'Bongo Glow', a work in progress at the time, was finished using the same processes as 'CCCLV1' so that it could appear on the Japanese release of the album.

The additional three reworkings were created without direct instruction as an experiment to see how they changed with input from external sources.

Daniel Avery's remix of 'Usyring' is a slow building majestic tome that comes full circle.

The Radiophonic Workshop took 'Blissters' and created a more experimental reworking in their unique style.

This release features show cases Brighton bases electronic producer Alero May and Maltese based 303 master Acidulant .

Jurek Przedziecki's solo Epi Centrum project thunders back with a brand new LP out on Damon Wild's Synewave Records imprint. After a handful of enthusiastically received (supported by, among others, Laurent Garnier, DJ Hell and Joey Beltram) records on numerous renowned Euro labels, Warsaw-based classically trained composer and Buchla System 200e affictionado, delivers a massive dose of muscular-yet obsessively detailed acid funk techno. His 8-tracker - Excrescence" mixes old and new, tapping on seminal Detroit retrofuturism and heavy-duty pounding mania. One can also hear ghostly echoes of his 90s post-industrial faves like Coil or SPK. Record, quite varied in itself, ranging from relentless bangers ('Association') to mental acid cuts ('Blaming Others') and slow bass pulsations ('Limited Useful Life'), should fit nicely in the Synewave repertoire. Simply unmissable.
