He has worked and collaborated with respected techno artists such as Woody McBride, Mike Henk, Tim Taylor, Auto Kinetic, Damon Wild, Biochip C., DJ Hyperactive, Dr Walker, Brixton, Andre Estrada, DJ Slip and many more.

Redeemer is the brutally seductive debut album by Phase Fatale, a key player in the recent charge of EBM and post punk-informed industrial techno infecting 'floors from his home city, NYC to his DJ residency at Berghain, Berlin. In Dominick Fernow's Hospital Productions, Phase Fatale finds a fitting home for his personalised brand of clinical, rictus rhythm programming and searing synth and guitar lines, adding a vital streak of black and blue electric energy to the legendary label in its 20th year of cultish operation.
In seven parts (and a trio of extended Silent Servant mixes due to come), Redeemer follows the direct, jagged lines of his 12's for Jealous God and Unterton to a deeply personal realisation of weaponised sonics, upholding a strong tradition of techno as a prophetic exercise or ritual to gird dancers and listeners for the onset of future war. It presents Phase Fatale as an ultimate emissary of electronic violence and domination in the process, steeling the limbic system and muscle memory thru a fine-tuned disciplinarian approach to pharmacokinetics and biomechanics.
Picking from the leather-bound cadaver of industrial dance music past, Phase Fatale reanimates his influences with pointillist precision and unapologetic force. Alloying muscular bass and metallic percussion with wire-combed 16th note synthlines and a barbed perimeter of guitar distortion, his sound can be heard as a metaphorical representation of holding your line against the attrition of a degenerated present.
Each track dances concisely around the 5 minute mark, unfolding a series of densely packed and subtly rendered minimalist/maximalist structures. The shuddering tension of Spoken Ashes opens with banks of rotted chorales against a coalface of hacking stabs, establishing a pent vibe that vacillates precariously thru the adrenalised battery of Operate Within, to the clenched funk of Human Shield and the bombed-out,
Alberich-alike Interference, seeming to resolve slightly with the supple roll of Order of Severity, before Beast bottoms out into immolating synth distortion, and Redeemer brings up the rear with a coolly-tempered, stoic form of industrial ecstasy.

Shaw's work as Sigha has always placed the listener at a centrifugal point that invites a clandestine hypnosis rather than an abject hysteria. Cavernous low ends fixed firmly and effectively in a mono space tether the music to the body, while exquisitely executed white noise patterns and crystalline pads warp and hiss around the stereo environment. This keen ear for distinction within the frequency spectrum acts as the central theme on the LP.

Metabolism encompasses a power dynamism that departs from the explicitly greyscale finish found on his more conceptual work as Sigha and as A Vision Of Love for Guy Brewer's Avian label. Though elements of Metabolism maintain a driven, corrosive quality, each searing sequence or mordant drum machine hit occupies its own space. On high-energy dance floor moments and abstract tracks alike, Shaw's approach to distortion is one that sets out with an objective to separate components rather than to bind them. This creates a matrix of aural stimuli that remain heady and inherently propulsive, but are realised in a fashion more akin to high fidelity sound design than processes traditionally associated with the techno genre.

The record possesses a powerful musicality beyond this acute attention to form and structure. In the past, Shaw's productions have often married high-energy drum work with subtly shifting minor keys spread around the sonic periphery. On Metabolism, emotive leads sit squarely and comfortably in the foreground, and build towards rapturous crescendos that are crisp and omnipresent throughout the mix. These careful layers generate the extraordinary tension that has since become a hallmark of the British artist's work.

Metabolism is a techno album, but its frame of reference is generous, drawing on the finest facets of the artist's own varied discography and the wider electronic music landscape. Cohesive and modern, Shaw's latest work eschews a handful of riffs on a single idea in favour of a multi-faceted, fully realised expression of what the genre can be - it is a vital addition to the Token label's already enviable catalogue of releases.

South London Ordnance debuts on Parachute. The British producer marks his first release of 2017 with Parallel Window, a four track EP featuring three wrought-iron originals and remix from Token & Blueprint affiliate, Sigha. Driven and direct, the music marries rolling low end with high energy drum machine percussion and wide angle highs - for the most part eschewing anxious, heads-down austerity in favour of a more uplifting, trancelike approach - spread across multiple BPM's. Despite the heady, crushed finish - shifts in tone are subtle, developing over prolonged periods, with careful modulation drawing sounds in and out of the sonic hinterland sporadically to create a comfortable atmospheric balance between peak-time dance-floor urgency and hazy mid-set moments. On his remix, Sigha hones in on this sentiment - lifting the caustic lead bassline from Parallel Window and augmenting it with trademark cavernous low end, skittering highs & a rolling lead arp to create a hypnotic, half-time dirge.

Work Them Records founder Spencer Parker presents the first in a trilogy of releases as BROTHERHOOD. The BROTHERHOOD moniker was originally coined as a way of differentiating Parker's Berghain appearances from his Panorama Bar appearances, hence why this series under the alias will be concentrated on techno. Thudding kicks and eerie atmospherics pave the way in Chapter One - a physical techno number that warps and changes throughout its almost 8 minute duration.
Chapter Two then employs a twisted melody that works alongside a remorseless low-end throb until Chapter Three concludes the package with punchy percussion and echoing effects.

- Umwelt's 12inch ... City' from 1999 was one of the most impressive 12inches I had at that time and I played the shit out of it. It was dark and very emotional, it was abstract but also driving at the same time. This was 1999 though, before Discogs and before Facebook and all the other platforms people have now to do research on artists they like and follow their work. At that time it was the record shop - and that was it. Nobody knew this guy though, and I didn't get my hands on any of the following releases, so in my world there was no follow-up to this record ever and I thought it would remain a one-off gem in my record box.
Until by some coincident I recently discovered he was still around and had actually released numerous releases in the meantime. I was very excited and contacted him straight away and ended up booking him for Krake Festival in the same year. Undoubtedly his set was one of the best of the whole festival! He took the roof off the place with his mix of raw electro, industrial and rave and everybody was talking about it afterwards, saying it was the highlight of the festival! Talking to him I learnt, that most of the tracks he played were his own, mostly unreleased. He produces without computers, all his tracks are single takes, there is no editing, no mixing afterwards, he only has a stereo track recording which is what it is. He owns a cutting machine which he uses to cut dubplates from his tracks, which he then plays out during his sets. This whole information about this very unique artistic approach just killed it for me, and since working with him was so nice as well, I asked him for a demo for Killekill and its labels and was hoping for tracks I could make a great 12 of. I got 14 tracks and after weeks of trying to pick the best, I finally realized I held one of the best electro albums ever in my hand - banging beats and the balls to go big and epic, subtle melodies, drama, funk - this album has got it all, and what's most important, the music on it is the exact opposite of so much other music nowadays: It is emotional, it tells a story, it is easily recognizable and it is not interchangeable. It's just Umwelt.

As a former engineer for Prince and half of acclaimed techno outfit MOTOR, Bryan Black has been consistently pushing the boundaries of electronic music for over two decades. He now launches his most ambitious project to date with Pitch Black, a new multi-faceted platform that encapsulates everything the man is about. With the podcast well underway, and the tour consistently arriving at new horizons, Black Asteroid moves forward with the next chapter in the Pitch Black dynasty. Combining his loves of fashion, love and art, each Pitch Black release is going to be a unique affair fusing different artists, designers and musicians.
For Pitch Black 001 Black Asteroid has exclusively collaborated with Italian-leather powerhouse GUIDI, and famed print publication StyleZeitgeist Magazine for an extremely limited run of leather sleeves to accompany the labels inaugural release, setting the tone from the outset, the dark-black sleeves hide an equally powerful musical journey within.
Featuring long-time collaborators Cold Cave, 'Black Moon' was originally released through Chris Liebings now defunct CLR imprint. For Pitch Black's inaugural release, Black Asteroid takes back control of his 2014 classic, and hands the reigns over to the Queen of modern techno, Nicole Moudaber. Moudaber delivers a stomping peak-time remix that encapsulates her class as a producer, and clearly shows why she's one of the most in demand DJ's around. The piercing snares and crisp hats only act as a catalyst for the relentless energy of the mix, culminating in an 8-minute techno workout that's sure to work on any floor.
Heading over to the b-side, Black Asteroid shares with us a previously unreleased Dub mix of the record. The version reeks of Black Asteroid cliche´s, thumping kick drums and warped vocals wind in and out of the instantly recognizable bassline to form a perfectly constructed Dub. This one is a nod to Black Asteroid's ever growing Worldwide following, who will be sure to pick up the rarity.
He's not finished there though - for the penultimate record, Black Asteroid finally shares something brand new from his musical collection. Completing the package, the aptly named 'Frantic', is just that. A comprehensive menagerie of snares and thumping kick drums, Frantic reminds us that, ahead of his hotly anticipated album this year, Black Asteroid is here to stay. And so, it seems is Pitch Black.

Halocyan continue to plunge deeper into their 'Originary Technicity' series which has already featured an EP by Hackman backed up by remixers such as Timo Maas and KiNK. For their latest offering, the L.A coterie have enlisted the talents of the legendary German duo Extrawelt and have backed them up with remixes from championed master of machines Ulrich Schnauss as well as Joey Beltram and Giegling affiliate Vril.
Extrawelt's 'Breaking Bricks' remixes addition to Halocyan's Originary Technicity series will be released across two separate volumes with Ulrich Schnauss' interpretation and the two original mixes on the first and Joey Beltram and Vril's revisions featuring on the second.

Having released several EPs through Cocoon as well as 12"s on James Holden's Border Community, Kompass Musik and Traum Schallplatten, Extrawelt have evinced infallible consistency across their back catalogue and have long been regarded an eminent and influential force in the world of experimental Techno.

Joey Beltram kicks off Volume 2 with a remix of 'Breaking Bricks'. Having landmark successes at Drumcode, Harthouse, Bush and MB Electronics, Beltram continues to be a leading innovator of underground Dance Music in the US and abroad. Bustling with neatly crafted percussion, ducking synths and a spearing, propulsive bass pattern - his remix moves with brisk, mechanical purpose and adds a signature degree of energy to the original.
Next up is the enigmatic Vril whose saturnine style of Techno has earned him releases on Delsin and Music Man as well as Giegling and live shows at spots as reputable as Berghain. Sticking to his trusted canon, Vril's remix grows naturally with a live feeling - hats are gradually pitched throughout as brash, metallic loops ferry the listener into a trance and round off another addition to the Originary Technicity series which comes as yet another rich and cohesive package from the ever-reliable Halocyan."

The title of the debut lp from The Transcendence Orchestra outlines the modus operandi of this pairing of Anthony Child and Daniel Bean. Recorded in a remote English rural setting over a period of 24 hours this is an apt location for a recording that eschews time and space in favour of methodological displacement and deep psychological navigation.

Modern Methods For Ancient Rituals is an experiment in acoustic and synthetic symbiosis which is deeply influenced by the atmosphere and acoustics of the rural location of Cats Abbey resulting in a set of recordings which can aid to the transformation of consciousness. Deploying a range of ancient and modern instruments and effects including Buchla Music Easel, harmonium, shruti box, bass guitar, hurdy gurdy, Electro Harmonix 45000, Strymon Blue Sky and Roland RE 101 Space Echo among others, Child and Bean conjure an audio experience which encapsulates elements of drone, trance, pulse, rhythm and melody subtly shifting all into a psychologically penetrating experience beyond the aesthetic and into the comforting unknown.

The Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound presents DE, a compilation of various artists representing Georgian electronic and ambient music.
/ DE is a compilation of music from artists of different backgrounds getting together in order to showcase the dynamic influences within the Georgian scene.
Tbilisi is getting worldwide recognition at the moment for its booming club scene, but what this project aims to illustrate is what is happening outside of the club context.
Natalie Beridze who has been performing worldwide since 2004 is known as the first female electronic music artist in Georgia, Rezo Glonti has built his studio inside the hull of his boat, and Zesknel is a resident of the renowned Bassiani club, while MYI and Severiane were discovered thanks to Myspace, Soundcloud, and word-of-mouth. All these talents manage in their own ways to present / DE, with murky and melancholic cuts.
Melancholia is at the core of beauty in Georgia. That is not the case in Germany and many other cultures, where melancholia is often charged and bound to a negative feeling, which some might perceive as weakness. Consequently, one could be tempted to say that even if it's electronic music, DE has a traditional Georgian quality. But that would be putting art in boxes or cases — because what is Georgian art nowadays, when so many artists from this origin are scattered around As Giorgi Maisuradze states in his mission statement for DE, 'the world is their home'.

Bjarki's not a fan of boxes - in fact, if you try putting him in one and he'll gleefully jump out and stamp all over it. In 2015 you probably had him pegged as a techno artist, but in 2016 he confounded everyone's expectations of his musical path (surprise breakout hit of the year followed by big room appearances playing the aforementioned hit at every set..). And instead he released three widely praised LPs ' Lefhanded Fuqs Æ' that mapped out a broad musical landscape for him - one that runs from ice cold ambient soundscapes, through melodic techno, exuberant breakbeat and on toclassic rave. His final release of 2016 'Fresh Jive' placed him firmly leading the pack of artists who in the past few years have set about re-moulding the scent of breakbeat, rave, jungle and IDM into sounds that are entirely their own.
In 2017 Bjarki opens up a record label with his childhood friend Johnny ChromeSilver, bbbbbb Records.
'My Inspiration' is a classic breakbeat jungle track, written by Floyd Dice and Acen as X-Static, originally released in1992 on Production House Records. For the new release, the B-side includes an additional version by Bjarki that was mouth-wateringly teased to the general public on last years. Trip 2 Iceland video. Bjarki's 'Sweetest Thing' Version revs up the pads, melody and vocal of the original into a spine tingling, brooding and insanely addictive bass heavy breakbeat roller.
The launch celebration for bbbbbb takes place on a trawler in Iceland in February - brrrrrrrrrrr.

Split between London and Bristol label Oscilla Sound prepares its second release 'Perihelion' in the form of three leftfield tracks from Parisian producer E-Unity. Ben UFO, A Made Up Sound, Avalon Emerson, Simo Cell and Batu - are all early supporters of E-Unity's productions. Adamant to give this artist a platform, Joel Arcane connected with the exciting producer to sign him to the label - following up on Wilhelm's absorbing debut release. 'Perihelion' starts off with rattling minimal synths before engaging basslines join crystalline melodies to generate an otherworldly aesthetic. Filtering effects and crashing cymbals then forge 'Morty' as cosmic pads work underneath, making way for 'A Wormhole In The 4th Wall' and its vibrant foundation of organic drums and futuristic elements.

USA's Jon Hester serves up four heady techno cuts for the second installment in Rekids' newly launched techno orientated series Special Projects.
Based in Berlin, Hester's discography may be humble but it is one of pure quality. The American techno producer has released on Rødhåd's Dystopian, appeared on a release alongside the likes of DJ Richard, Hinode and Arthur Kimskii (Point Break) on L.A.G., and now joins the Rekids Special Projects series featuring FBK, Markus Suckut and DJ Deep.
Heaving distorted kicks and echoing stabs lay the blueprint to 'Inertia' whilst intricate hats make way for metallic melodies. Speeding things up, 'On The Move' is a more driving cut in comparison with its trippy atmospherics and crunchy percussion, whereas the surging 'Short Circuit' demonstrates syncopated percussion and ominous synths for a rhythmic dancefloor workout. Finally, 'Neurons' sees various cosmic elements ebb in and out of the mix for a mesmerising conclusion.

Following a two year hiatus, bass purveying record label Soundman Chronicles is back with another EP to add to its collection. Helmed by Wisdom Teeth label head K-LONE, the three track release also features a remix from low-key, Bristolian duo O$VMV$M. A labour of love which has, according to Soundman Chronicles head honcho Parris, taken a year to complete', as both he and Josiah Gladwell aka K-LONE searched hard for a safe pair of remixing hands - Old Fashioned borrows from old school dub influences and breathes new life into the Basic Channel pioneered dub techno sound. Opening with the sparse title track 'Old Fashioned', which boasts warm pads and a dub techno framework spanning ten whole minutes, the EP then accommodates a buoyant four and a bit minute roller - 'In The Dust Of This Planet', characterised by a weighty kick and hard-hitting drums before the remainder of the b-side adopts a more stripped-back approach and Young Echo members O$VMV$M lend the title track an altogether more atmospheric feel in their remix, complete with a fuzzy lo-fi clap and dainty series of hi hats. A welcome return from both K-LONE and Soundman Chronicles, Old Fashioned finds a home on a label that's expertly mastered the ability to look back as much as it looks forward.

2nd release picks up where the 1st ended, under the tutelage of the Pittsburgh Track Authority, as 2 young Pittsburgh producers grab the reins, & take the label's sound deeper into funky space-age techno.

"The artist known as G-23 continues his journey to the head of the gum-under-the-schooldesk underground with this release on Torn Hawk's Valcrond Video.
This multi-faceted Italian producer also deploys weirdo sounds under the name Secret Rave and Strange Audio Dreams, often on his own label Art-Aud. He has also released under the alias Moscow Death Disco on Helena Hauff's Return to Disorder.
Remixes of ""Access Code"" from Valcrond affiliates Decor and Mr. Husk start off each side. Both will pound and smear club meat all over the countertop. Let's pound those veal cutlets so thin you'll be able to see through them like flesh-pink stained glass. A2 brings us the sleazy slouch of ""Bleep Shots"". It sure sounds like a crew of developmentally impaired bullies out to steal your lunch money, so hold on to your fanny pack.
Finally, the title track closes things out in a brilliantly uncomfortable way.

After a two year hiatus, Kiani returns to his Far Out Systems alias for this EP, his first offering for a label outside of his own Tanzbar Records.

Thomas Neyens first left his mark on the dance scene under his alias Kiani & His Legion, with two releases on Red D's We Play House Recordings in 2013 and more recently on Something Happening Somewhere, quickly demonstrating his accomplished production flair. This led the Belgian establishing his own imprint, Tanzbar Records, where he dropped two EPs under his Far Out Radio Systems moniker - bringing a more 'dancefloor focused' sound. Now after a two year hiatus, Neyens returns to his Far Out Systems alias for this EP, his first offering for a label outside of Tanzbar Records.

'Spheres' kicks off the release, with its soft bassline perfectly complimenting the hazy synths, syncopated drums and the mesmerising nuances from the hang drum that feature later in the track. The slow burning style continues on 'Jane Goodall', with the track's atmospheric textures gradually overpowered by a steady selection of drums, percussion and off-kilter effects. 'Vaquita' sees Far Out Radio Systems up the tempo whilst still sonically retaining the melancholy, hypnotic sound of the EP, as the snare-led rhythm gradually gains in momentum over its seven minute duration. Closing this excellent four track EP is 'On A Quest', a pulsating number that combines soaring, ethereal synths with a club ready groove that is perfect for the shadowy dancefloors the Belgian DJ/producer performs to.

The first EP from Mouse on Mars since their anniversary recording 21 Again (2014) is clearly connected to their recent club gigs. In fact, Synaptics sees the Berlin duo embrace their love of juke, footwork and chopped up house music like never before. On its three tracks, Andi Toma and Jan St. Werner reinforce the collaborative idea of 21 Again: Eight different artists have been involved in the making of these tracks, which deliberately depart from a characteristic Mouse on Mars sound, creating a more organized vibe while still maintaining links to their previous work.

Lok44 and Dibek are /DL/MS/, dropping a malicious four-tracker as their joint TRUST debut. The haze hangs heavy as /DL/MS/ leave straight techno by the wayside, drilling deep underground into unexplored acid break deposits. 'Rogue Intent' shakes tectonic plates, colliding grinding breaks with fierce analogue instrumentation, and the fumes oozing from their boreholes are likely to set your head spinning.

completely virginal duo Death Bulb, who have never released a single track
before, which is quite ridiculous as they have been producing this stuff since
2012. This is simply some of the best industrial noise techno around!

It starts out with the title track Zement, a total dancefloor killer that still gives
me goosebumps after hearing it about a million times. You will eat this up!


Second on the A side is Breathe In, Breed Out, a hilariously rough beatdown
with lots of heavy breathing involved - slays it every time! Ultraviolence never
felt so enjoyable!

The B side starts out with a rare guest appearance of label daddy Hanno
Hinkelbein who donated a remix of Zement for you people who like
straightforward techno. Lots of heavy bass and a crunchy ravepad, driven by
relentless percussion.

The vinyl ends with the broken banger Bettina's Betrayal - noise at it's
finest, somewhere between I-F's I Do Because I Couldn't Care Less...' and old
AFX.

The duo of DJ Dex and Esteban Adame as "El Coyote" returns with two smoking dancefloor tracks. "Dream Dealer" takes the Los Hermanos inspired hi tech latin soul template into edgier territory with a thumping kick drum and deep driving bassline. The E2E4 inspired chords and Esteban's wicked solo half way through the track assure "Dream Dealer" will be a highlight in any club set. The flip side "La Frontera" leans more to the moodier Detroit Techno spectrum. The track slowly builds to a melodic hook, a percussive break and a requisite hands in the air moment.

Laura Jones unveiled her new label Sensoramic in May with SAM and Karousel cutting the opening tape in appropriate style. For the second release Laura delivers her first EP since 2014. After taking time out to experiment in the studio and refine her style, The Why Question marks an evolution in the UK producer's output delivering two incendiary underground club cuts ably remixed by Trevino and U-More. Two veterans working under aliases, Trevino is of course better known as legendary drum 'n' bass producer Marcus Intalex who has more recently found a home for his 4/4 output on Klockworks, The Nothing Special and his own label, Birdie. U-More is Italian veteran and Berliner, Ivan Iacobucci, fresh from releasing on Apollonia and a slew of underground minimalist labels who delivers a late night acid laden afterhours workout to compliment Trevino's big room counterpart.

Abstract Reality presents you an album by French artist Leonard Lampion. It gathers a one hour selection of cuts that explores several different musical landscapes. Harsh industrial tracks share the tape alongside dark drone ambient, tribal sounds and downtempo emo feelings. Side A is the more dancefloor oriented side, while side B explores more experimental paths.

Earlier this year, Dekmantel announced the signing of Robert Hood for a new project titled Paradygm Shift. Tyrees is an up and coming, London born and bred producer and DJ with a heavy focus on breaks, bass and pads. His sound pays homage to and is an evolution of the elements that were so crucial in the UK dance music scene throughout the '90s and onwards. His love for Hardcore, Jungle and Drum 'n' Bass of the early to mid '90s is principally important to the formation of his style. Producers like Tyrees are taking full advantage of the current wave of innovative and experimental styles of electronic dance music. With great respect and adoration, Tyrees is combining percussive elements, rhythms, structures, samples and tempos from many genres and eras, creating familiar but fresh, unique and exciting sounds.Aside from electronic dance music, Tyrees is deeply interested in a broad spectrum of musical styles, notably the many sub-genres of Jazz, Soul and Funk from the '60s and '70s, Hip Hop culture which was so heavily inspired by this music, and anything else from Rock and orchestral pieces to World Music and obscure OSTs. This obsession with music is apparent in the overall sound of his productions.
'Tidy' is a smooth and subtle journey through beautiful sample based pads, chopped breaks, synth lines and vocal samples. It is a gradually rising force, evolving with delicate bass and synth tones and a mysterious vocal narrative. It effortlessly transitions into a melodic latter half, concluding with a climactic, explosive drum.

2529KM Records is a new dub techno label created by two friends and artists - Piotr Bejnar aka N1KT (Warsaw, PL) and Leon Lolishvili aka Boyd Schidt (Tbilisi, GE). 2529 KM stands for the distance between Warsaw and Tbilisi. The idea of the label to release compilations with artists from different countries and nationalities. Through music the label wants to unite different cultures and to create a group of friends all over the world, who support themselves in music and life.

The first release 2529KM 001 is the compilation from Idealist (Switzerland) - producer, DJ and label owner of Idealistmusic, Stojche ( Macedonia) - Berlin-based artist who's primarily inspired of the local electronic scene in Skopje, Boyd Schidt (Georgia) - one of the leading techno artists in Georgia and N1KT (Poland) - new techno alias from the owner of 2529 KM and Otake Records.

The latest outing on Will & Ink is a remix EP that finds Parisian producers Bambounou and Simo Cell team up for four reworked versions of Yaleesa Halls Woodall LP. Both artists are known for their releases on 50 Weapons, Livity Sound and Wisdom Teeth. Right here, on Will & Ink, two solo outings with another two collaborated remixes on the b-side showcase their dubbed out, stripped back and paranoid dark Parisian trademark sound. Their very specific sound sounds like little else and is a solid match with Yaleesa Hall and the Amsterdam imprint as this EP proves.

Following a number of self-released mix tapes of his own incredible productions Binary Digit debuts on Opal with Acid Drop. Exquisitely written and executed hardware driven acid techno and electro recalling the 'smile until your face hurts' vibes of Analord era AFX and the perfect alien spheres of Dopplereffekt.

Greek label and promoters Trial & Error present their first ever vinyl release Hollow Systems' by Bonebrokk - packed with a Jay Glass Dub version. A deeply personal record that's refuses to lay low, it's both tense and intimate with a driving percussive energy and empathetic hooks. Whilst the contemporary UK techno influence is easily defined, its real strength lies in its raw honesty.

Six track EP of berzerk, often downright scary new music from Chafik Chennouf (Leyla Records) with the Ferrorequinologie" track absorbed and remixed by Lucy (Stroboscopic Artefacts) Mondkopf and aKatsunori Sawa respectively.

For our final record of the year, we turn to Glasgow's man of the year - Denis Sulta.

Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.

'It's Only Real' created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.

Good news for exigent Techno lovers, here comes another deep and mesmerizing release by the Californian Techno ambassador Drumcell, with remixes by three highly inspired co-conspirators. Many have already heard Drumcell's original album version of 'Speak Silence". The slow and haunting beat, the hypnotizing poetry of the vocals, the incredibly well-defined bass and the dark, enthralling atmosphere characterize the work of this restless sound designer and make it clearly irresistible. Furthermore the choice of the remix producers also could not have been any more spot on. CLR core artist Brian Sanhaji, one of today´s most creative and in demand Techno live acts, crafted a driving and very club friendly version of Drumcell´s intriguing original composition. The man who is also taking care of the entire mastering of the label has once more proven his sonic and musical sensitivity while effortlessly taking the very essence of 'Speak Silence' straight to the dance floor. Bristol upstarts Giant Swan bring their distinct brand of chaotic noise to Timedance. Fresh from a series of high profile gigs and a feature in The Wire, the duo release their first single of 2017, the most refined work they have showcased yet. The single features two assaults of frenetic rhythmic work outs, gully drops and punky vocals - cementing their place as one of the most exciting up and comers in dance music right now.

Jensen Interceptor aka Mikey Melas returns to CPU with another brutal electro storm.

The dance floor is never far from his mind with each track building upon his signature thunderous kicks and android basslines.

Melas demonstrates his meticulous knowledge of the genre on this E.P. as he jumps between aquatic synths and no nonsense UR science.

Recorded with a modest hardware setup in Geneva - one drum machine, a few synths, a sampler, plus effects - the ten miniatures on LEVELS' debut S/T are nonetheless dense in atmosphere and mood, often immensely beautiful beyond their means. As suggested by the project's name, each track has the feel of a new level on a video game, a new environment to explore, to feel around for new clues, and ultimately to conquer. Referencing classic anime, movie, and videogame scores, LEVELS' willfully minimal sound palette is designed to give the listener a cinematic sensation. The sparser and more lo-fi sounds on side A have the listener tentatively exploring futuristic new spaces, wandering hallways of ambient beds and kick drum heartbeats. However, the busier rhythms and crisper melodies of the second side tell of the action that happens next, picking up the pace for keyboard-heavy chases, drum machine action sequences, and some gorgeously redemptive emotional peaks.

It's 3am. The club is still open. You're bathed in sweat, mid-set. It's not time to go home. Not just yet.Now imagine the new release from Germany's Oliver Deutschmann kicking in on the sound system. This is the new release on Swiss imprint, Caduceus Records. They're back with yet another undiluted dancefloor bomb from the man himself - a release guaranteed to take you to that place and guide you further down the rabbit hole.Oliver is a producer that needs little by way of introduction. Over the last 15 years his reputation as a producer and DJ has been driven forward by his own dedicated passion, a slew of unforgiving releases, a diverse track selection and an even more uncanny ability to mix.On his new release, Locked, Deutschmann presents a three-tracker with that hypnotic, peak-time attitude in his sights. Gravely brooding,EP opener 'Locked' is a heads-down techno anthem which slowly unfurls into a seven minute hi-hat workout which still manages still to cut a deep groove. Track two, 'Plus' delves deeper into his more minimal leanings as he paces himself into the swelling, shapeshifting modus that the track belies.

Ploy follows up last years 'Iron Lungs' on Timedance with an EP of deep percussion exercises. 'Intrigued By The Drum' sees the London-based producer explore evolving rhythms and electronics. While the tone stays relentlessly tribal, Ploy variates on the theme. The opening tracks dread is balanced out by the warm, colourful strings on 'Zoom', whist 'Blow Poke' bounces with frenetic propulsion. The EP concludes with 'Bad Seed', where a sultry groove is programmed alongside the wooziest of pads. All four tracks showcase Ploy at his most subtle and accomplished, it's well worth the wait.

Following a still-ongoing series of reissues of the earliest, previously tape-only releases from Dominick Fernow's Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, this long-in-the-making new album proper is an epic 80 minute set featuring additional production and 'sound on sound processing' from Silent Servant, a remix from Substance and mastering by Paul Corley. It's by far the most ambitious and far-reaching Rainforest dispatch, taking that artificial, tropical humidity as a starting point before heading deep into a kind of textured ambience that reminds us of everything from Talk Talk's Laughing Stock to Carl Craig's How The West Was Won, from Huerco S. to classic Chain Reaction.
'Ambient Black Magic' moves away from the extreme saturation of those early cassettes and the industrial environmentalism of his previous album Green Graves and is described by the label as 'Fear Dub' - which is essentially the perfect encapsulation of the deep sense of paranoia contained within. The opening Jungle
Is A Shapeshifter is a gargantuan 35 minute head-melter that's split across the first two sides of the vinyl pressing. Co-Produced with Silent Servant, it's the most absorbing piece of new electronic music we've heard for time - slowly unfurling via chorus pedal guitars that gradually degrade, while a fathoms-deep bass pulse and tape-delay gives the piece its shape. It's like an updated, tranquillised, fever-dream variant of the kind of ambient dub Vainqueur made his own back in the mid-90's - we could listen to it on a loop for hours.
Beyond The Yellow-Spotted Bamboo, another Silent Servant co-production, clocks in at a relatively modest 17 minutes and heads off into more open terrain, this time with submerged percussion providing some propulsion, while shards of coloured synth pull you back into the swamp. It's another humid, breathtaking session - bringing out the best in both Fernow and Silent Servant via perhaps the most important and satisfying work either artist has been involved with.
Praying Mantis Black Arts is another masterclass in sub-bass construction, while Chile's Crimson Tide is the shortest track on the album, a kind of broken coda before Substance ends the set with a remix of Beyond The Yellow-Spotted Bamboo, deploying a tribal reduction that references classic Chain Reaction from a producer who was part of it first hand. It's a relatively upbeat conclusion to one of the most immersive listening experiences you'll have in 2017; those of you looking for escape should dive in - you won't want to re-engage with the world around you for a while.

The Italian producer, whose real name is Federico Maccherone, presents his first release of 2017 - a solo EP marrying the same ethereal, wide-angle synthesis and intricate drum programming that appears on standout work for Boddika's Nonplus imprint and the Afterlife label. More than ever, Maccherone shows his range - rolling, meditative recordings sit comfortably alongside some more overtly dance floor material, with both approaches bound by the same high-end production values listeners and DJ's alike have come to expect from the Somne project.
In various ways, the EP offers a certain degree of insight into Maccherone's dual identity as a producer of both clinical, dance-floor fare as well as a cerebral, leftfield work - and in turn, how the artist draws together these two strands of creative endeavour to craft unique and profoundly emotive electronic music. Nods to classic IDM and Ambient sit at the periphery of the recordings, although the main focus is on the propulsive, contemporary Techno derivatives - from warping, half-time opener Divided Love, with its crisp, white noise washes and clinical use of distortion - through to Endgame's exacting, peak-time drive. And whilst the form shifts across the EP from half-time, polyrhythmic work to more direct 4x4 compositions - everything remains bound by the same exquisite, otherworldly atmosphere that touches on the grandiose whilst maintaining a gloriously introspective bent.
Balance comes across as a principle theme on the record, both in terms of production aesthetic and track sequencing, but there is a wonderful contrast between the elements - with the sounds ringing strong and true. The two versions of lead Metropolis that perhaps appear to illustrate in the best way the powerful dichotomy within Maccherone's work, with the A side version conjuring up a distinctly brooding sentiment - a quintessential example of rolling, contemporary Electronica, whilst the Alternate Mix of the B side offers a more direct, cathartic interpretation - expertly executed for maximum dance-floor effectiveness.
Mature and accomplished, Metropolis is a fine addition to the growing Somne discography. The record paints a picture of a producer in full control of his art, definitely working to create a powerful three-dimensional space of his own within the genre.

Vakula has been a Dekmantel label member ever since the very early days. The Ukraine based producer now drops his album Cyclicality Between Procyon And Gomeisa on the label.
'This album is about cycles, repetition and interaction', says Vakula, whose Cyclicality between Procyon and Gomeisa is the third of a series of albums and reflects a dashing experimental record that evokes the endless and captivating potential of electronic music. It creates a mesmerizing journey through various music genres, exhibiting a singular sonic experience, whilst he works through a process of improvisation and refinement.
Once again the mastermind proves to be capable of creating complex, yet diverse musical pieces beyond genres and trends. The result: an audio adaptation of his fascinating mind. 'There are two parallel processes that come together in my work: me writing music and working on the sound I want to achieve, and the energy from outside that flows and transforms into thoughts, correlations, and actions.'

The track titles relate to the source of Vakula's inspiration and connect the dots between his obsession for the vastness of our universe and electronic music. ''To wonder about the universe and to dig into mythology and scientific research discovering at least some of its secrets is what keeps me endlessly motivated as a producer.''

San Francisco's Christina Chatfield brings her signature acid sound to god particle with 'The Circle' EP. 'Circadian' reflects and evokes the natural cyclical rhythm of the track as the pitch naturally rises and falls over a steady bassline and consistent tempo. A perfect track to draw the dancer deeper. A2.Black_Hole Steady prominent kick drums keep feet marching through crunchy, distorted sounds and clicking. 'Black Hole' is an otherworldly track that pulls you into the space and won't let you go..B1.Voyage is a visionary guest through alien atmospheres. Chatfield's signature rolling acid lines, panning synths and rapid hi-hats make this one a bottomless groove, perfect for peak energy..B2.Acid_Exhibition. Crisp hi-hats and a kick drum are quickly met by an intrepid acid line. Dreamy synths softly grow throughout 'Acid Exhibition", adding more atmosphere along with steady claps and a vocal sample.

Dorisburg's first missive since his debut album, Irrbloss, is the most deadly distillation of his talents yet. Hypnotic basslines ripple out into grand atmospheric journeys, "Venom" for the black of night, "Serum" with a hint of light on the horizon.Dorisburg journeys further into the night on Venom, his first record of 2017, and it quickly found its way to Kalawila's label Mountain Explosion Device, due to the two artists having a long standing friendship that developed into a joint view of texture and sonic emotion. Having found its home, Venom burrows deep into an underground cavern, bass pulses dripping like stalactites into endless black pools of atmosphere. You journey for hours and end up in the same place. And then, just when you've resigned yourself to endless night, "Serum" is a glint of sunlight in the dark, a hint of Dorisburg's reserved optimism. You can heal yourself as long as you keep moving.

A return to the source: 'Ribcage' is where it all began for the Dubfire project. After years of exploring, subverting and setting brave new benchmarks in the house world, this marked the start of Ali Shirazinia setting out to set the same creative benchmarks in techno. Restrained, drawn-out but beastly when it wanted to be, the original was a serious statement of intent. Even at the time you got a sense it was going to be a historic tune. Loco Dice especially felt that when he signed it to Desolat 10 years ago. To celebrate this time-flying milestone, Dubfire's recruited two of the most respected names possible for remix duties. First up, the unstoppable, unavoidable, unquenchable Dense & Pika who keep within the dramatic rising template but with a whole new set of instruments and textures... Motion (Newcastle) co-founder and resident Richie Steedman makes his debut on Jamie Jones' Hottrax imprint with three groove-centered productions this November.A key component in the North of England's electronic music scene, Steedman has had a deep-rooted passion for house and techno since becoming au fait with a pair of turntables at merely 12 years old. Since then the British DJ launched Newcastle's Motion event series back in 2010, where he's a resident alongside fellow Hottrax producer Patrick Topping. He now joins a roster spanning the likes of Yousef, Harry Romero, wAFF, Mat.Joe and more.Echoing chopped vocals, crunchy percussion and a meandering bassline form the basis of 'Stitcher' before undulating drums join a medley of squelches, pops and whirrs in 'Chance It'. Concluding the package, 'Slip' incorporates infectious open hi-hats and a stuttering vox for a moody and mesmerising finale.

nstead of searching for commonalities between their earlier individual work, Overmono combines the Russells' artistic talents in order to reach the spaces between ambient, techno & UK hardcore dynamics that few current acts are capable of reaching. Born of the brothers' collective creative impulse and staking out its own defined place in the contemporary landscape of electronic music, Overmono are firmly amongst those pushing the form into new and exciting places.

All of this is now also being explored in a live setting. Having made their debut at Krakow's experimental electronic music festival, Unsound in October 2016, Overmono will be performing a number of live and DJ dates throughout 2017.

This place has been through a lot. Days of industrial glory were followed by decline and a slow recovery that still goes on today. In between these forests and plains, between industrial heritage and modern transformation, there's plenty of inspiration and food for thought for a generation of electronic musicians.

This compilation has been put together to celebrate all the great talent of this city, showcasing producers who may or may not be born in or currently living in Norrköping, but who all took their first important steps as artists here.

Jean-Louis Huhta (Dungeon Acid) and Ideal label head Joachim Nordwall unite once again as High Boys for an EP influenced by their love of old school acid, bad vibes, dub 7's, William S Burroughs and 80s industrial music.
The pair are already bandmates of sorts as part of the mighty Skull Defekts, but anyone familiar with Dungeon Acid's much sought after catalogue or Nordwall's sprawling, eclectic interests will no doubt already have their ears pricked for this one. The results are pretty much inline with what you'd expect: warehouse productions infused with all the grit and experimental determination you'd imagine.
Described by Nordwall as 'Claustrophobic industrial acid', there's a definite sense of dread permeating these tracks, situating them somewhere between the Nordic, gothic techno ambience of Varg and Mika Vainio's analogue prowess. It will be interesting to see what happens if these two put their minds together for a full length, but on the evidence presented here High Boys is a project well worth tuning into...

My 'Lost Tales' album is a special collection of unique tracks that I've never released before - tales that were never told. Most of the tracks had been dreamed up previously but never physically written. Some of them may have been started and tested but then stayed in an unfinished phase, never reaching their final form. I've now compiled all of these "Lost Tales" into one massive album.' - Jay Lumen.

Appearing on Drumcode, Saved, 100% Pure and Octopus Records, Jay Lumen has certainly earned
his stripes when it comes to releasing on high-profile labels. Likewise as a performer Lumen is in very
high demand, reflecting on a globetrotting year appearing in Miami, London, Amsterdam, Detroit,
Barcelona and Toronto. The international DJ and producer is now set to drop his debut album on
Footwork, a year after the imprint's launch.

Lumen takes no prisoners from the off, kick-starting proceedings with cavernous cuts 'Pulsar' and
'System'. Tracks like 'Lost Tales', 'Old Machines' and 'Passion 303' are ominous productions built on
muscular kicks and echoing stabs, whereas the likes of 'I Am', 'Quiet Storm' and 'Azure' provide more
atmospheric and mesmerising alternatives.Crunchy snares and piercing melodies form 'Black Stabs', before 'Fallen Angels' reduces the tempo with intricate percussion and a cacophony of synths. The down tempo 'Outer Space' then concludes the package with syncopated drums, tranquil melodies and epic pads.

Following a run of local transmissions from A Sagittariun, Crump, Rob Smith and Atki2, Idle Hands turns its attention to Berlin and the straight-up, no-nonsense techno thrust of Johanna Knutsson and Hans Berg. Both respected artists and DJs in their own right, the pair have been turning out 12"s together for The Free Spirit Society, Klasse and Crime City Disco over the past few years, but most importantly they've been steering the excellent UFO Station Recordings as a vessel for their punchy, primal techno tracks.

The sound on this EP taps into the pure form of stern, dark dancefloor tackle favoured at Idle Hands - no extraneous filler, plenty of space in the mix, but equally built with warmth and personality rather than monochrome functionality. If you need further proof, just look to the fact the EP is named after a Swedish soap opera from the 90s.

The bleeps and bass tones that pulse through "Taggen" are so finely crafted they need not skip and dance around the arrangement. The melodic interplay on "Klimax" is subtle but ultimately uplifting and optimistic where so much techno concerns itself with oppressive gloom. "Bimbo" finds the pair embracing a more psychedelic approach, but even here the modulating effects processes are kept within certain boundaries so as to not dilute the impact on the floor. After all, this is music to dance to, to be felt over a large system (where possible).


Moving from leftfield bass excursions to minimalist 2-step, UK techno and now onto this much more continental sound, theMälarviken EP continues to widen the range of Idle Hands' musical tastes without losing sight of the complete picture.

Super Rhythm Trax welcomes phenomenally talented producer John Heckle to the label . John has rightly picked up quite a following due to quality output on labels like Mathematics, Tabernacle, Creme and more, not to mention his killer series of Techno 12's under the Head Front Panel name.
On this release you'll find heavy nods to Detroit as the music is bursting with soaring chords and emotion but all the time underpinned by the heaviest of 909 beats !

Munich's Martin Matiske started his recording career at fifteen with his stunning ep Stars & Galaxy for DJ Hell's Gigollo Records back in 2002. Here he dons 4 fresh tracks for the Vivod label with his trademark electro sound, somewhere between Dopplereffekt, classical & wave. Kicking off the ep is Die Nibelungen, a sort of speak & spell classical piece with an electro backing track. A2 - Bayerischer Wald is a chord heavy majestic bomb in a 5/4 time signature, maybe a stretch too far for the linear techno dj but that's what makes this ep so interesting. B2 - Virtuosic Mechanic harks back to his previous work on Gigollo Records, a more club orientated track which should do some effective damage on the floor. Rounding things off is Kammermusik, a subtle electro ballad. If you like your electro with a heavy classical influence then this is your ep.

Downwards send their new vanguard on road with The Immortal Eye; the mood is intensely depressive and pessimistic throughout, but, in the classic sense of gothic industrial music, the impeccably maintained atmosphere conversely acts as comfort or redemption to those need it.

Berlin's Jan Grebenstein remerges with Seefried on the tunnelling Wufferfraction only months after their excellent Strong Proud Stupid and Superior 12'. Imagine an anxious HTRK or ToC have just run out of downers and the technoid tension becomes palpable... before, the uncomfortably stark, empty-stomach concrète churn of Layne's Love will put you back face down again.

Autumns have flirted with Clan Destine and CF Records since their Downwards debut of eviscerated shoegaze in 2014, but they enter the B-side with a markedly different silhouette, framing spectral electronics and unheimlich voices in acres of negative, miasmic space before slipping into a pulsing techno trajectory, whilst LA's DVA Damas clear up with the erotic asphyxiation of Shortcut To X, which is effectively a crushing reduction of by now familiar sound...

On A side UNC shows us his vision of techno with an obsessive sound track. Distorted drums and dark pads for the second track by Assalti Industriali (Luciano Lamanna and Cosimo Damiano). On B side PVS writes a real journey with a ten minutes track where 4/4 and broken beat meet pads and melody.

The fourth LAQ is proudly made by Attic's owner Fabrizio Lapiana. His melodic techno taste is employed into each track moving from hypnotic hard strings of the "Cold In Summer" to the sour and acidic groove of "Acid Smiles" (both on the first side). In the b-side Fabrizio goes into more hypnotic and obsessive sound. A sort of progressive-techno vibes served to people who never-stop dancing.

After delivering the 8th Polybius Trax's release under Myriadd's alias, Craig Stainton strikes again. And this time he does it under the name of Mantra with 4 tracks of jackin', acid house and acid techno.

Besides publishing as Mantra in mythical labels like Bunker, Solar One Music and Abstract Acid, he has done so in Djax-Up-Beats, Crème Organization, Chiwax, Gnosis, Boe Recordings and many more with his other alias and projects: Acid Phreex, Craig Stainton, Monofonix, Myriadd, Modular Men and Nite Vision.

With this EP "The Seventh Seal" (PT009) and with its predecessor in the label "A New Day" (PT008), shows us of his mastery in the art of invoicing dance music under the different strands of acid.

Following a big EP from Richy Ahmed, Play It Say It returns with a talented collaboration in the form of Mark Fanciulli and Rob Cockerton, with Honey Dijon on the remix.
Mark Fanciulli has carved out his own sound that takes the best of House and Techno, turning in his own infectious releases on the likes of Joris Voorn's Rejected, as well as the legendary Planet E and Intec. Long time friend and collaborator Rob Cockerton joins Fanciulli, who's own credits lead to labels including Suara and Snatch!, and together the duo cook up a storm here.
'Slave To The Rave' is the fantastic opening cut and is a real party starter with an old school feel. Acid stabs bring raw energy alongside chattery claps straight from Chicago in the 80's, whilst the whole production is bolstered by slick drum programming that won't fail to work crowds into a frenzy.
The excellent '10 Channels of Bliss' is equally massive, with robust kick drums down low and huge incendiary hi-hats up top. Swaying claps and rolling bass all help lure you in and shape shifting synths bring all that important looseness and colour.
Next up, Classic Music Company artist and New York tastemaker Honey Dijon steps up to remix 'Slave To The Rave'. Her version is dark and intense, with an unbridled sense of frantic raves bottled up in the train-track grooves and the cleverly filtered vocals,This is a powerful EP of high class, high impact dance music.

It obviously had to have a great effect when Kling Klong head honcho Martin Eyerer could convince legendary german producer Patrick Chardronnet (Eve By Day) to spend some common time in the studio. And the result should definitely spank any festival floor this summer.

After releases on the Ninja Tune-backed label R'COUP'D, the mysterious Prequel Tapes surfaces with an EP for Midnight Shift. Composed of 3 tracks and 2 locked grooves, SHIFT LTD 003 fossilises transient moments in between gridlocks of tight grooves. Like a scan of light sweeping surreptitiously across a dungeon of darkness or a blinking throb pulsating from the corner of one's eye, these are the brief but blinding moments of illumination that capture time suspended on the edge of two worlds. Memory capsules slow-releasing an industrial mythos back into the clubbing consciousness. Prequel Tapes is a work of deep synthesis. Teenage recordings orchestrated into densely layered tapestries; a deeply emotional study on a life characterised by a shifting relationship to electronics. The pieces serve as a chronology of desire and reflection, reconciling a nascent passion for industrial music with a history in the club. There is a temptation to draw comparisons to Mark Leckey's excavation of UK rave culture, Lee Gamble's junglist memories or the hauntological approach of the Ghost Box label, however this is clearly a personal trajectory aesthetically distant from an English past. Oscillating between utopian to claustrophobic, the evolving synth work, deep techno atmospheres and traces of the clangorous energy of early European ambient and industrial tell a distinctly German tale, forged between the forest and the autobahn.

heart of a wild forest that grew on the post apocalyptic ruins of a shaved megalopolis in the 21st century. It was in this dark,
metallic penumbra, traversed by rays of light that dazzled the particles suspended in the air, that the procession advanced to the place of exorcism, a place which the priests called "power column."A2: The ceremony had begun and the vibrations were constantly increasing, the sound pulsations mixed with the industrial textures made the power transmitted by the priests rise - the patient began to enter the trance.
B1: The rhythmic cadence increased crescendo until vibrating the walls of this immense temple pushing little by little the patient in its most extreme psychological entrenchments. Above the building, a flood of lightning, thunder and torrential rain testified to the receptivity of the cosmos to the ceremony, Nature participating in the salvific emotional cataclysm provoked by exorcism. The cries of the patient mingled with the pulsed incantations of the priests, projecting the disequilibrium of the patient's soul into an ultimate effort to render the soul salvific.
B2: At the rhythm of the ceremonial cruise, the synchronicity of all the elements of the place reached such intensity that a sphere
of power resonated in the temple, in its bastions and in its surroundings, touching all living beings Were found, with violence similar to that of a salutary birth.

Dazzling and invigorating, scary and discombobulating.Psychic driving was a psychiatric procedure in which patients were subjected to a continuously repeated audio message on a looped tape, in order to alter their behaviour... often hundreds of thousands of repetitions of a single statement over the course of their treatment. They were also concurrently administered muscular paralytic drugs such as curare... The psychic driving procedure was a chronological precursor to Cameron's depatterning, involving massive doses of ECT combined with similarly large doses of psychedelic drugs like LSD. The intent was to break down the subject's personality — theoretically psychic driving could then be used with some efficacy in establishing a new personality' (Hanson Records).

Three tracks similar between eachother (Melantha, Sol y La Tierra, Silos) are characterized by rythms of percussion, drums, bass, voices with tropical melodies that create a harmony of perfect dark club sounds that transmit at the same time a peacefull feeling. For the third release on Decoder Recordings, Filip Xavi makes his debut to the label. The Serbian producer and resident DJ of the Drugstore club in Belgrade delivers four superb techno tracks. All of them are characterized by an obscure sound but directly aimed at the dance floor. The first track WD-4D is a powerful opening of the EP, with its successor AW-FL keeping pace nicely. The B side of this EP can't be ignored, as the opening track HE-AP kicks off quite fierce. The final composition named D-UI is an excellent hypnotic DJ tool.
