UK techno founders B12 return! The duo's history famously started in the early 90's with their music appearing under a plethora of monikers under the "B12 Records" umbrella - 12" vinyl with notorious cryptic messages engraved in the run-out grooves, before being collected into album form and release on Warp. After a hiatus in the late 90's, the pair resurfaced briefly for some live shows, a flurry of hugely sought-after 12"s and a 7-part CD anthology. They then abruptly disappeared again - this is their first appearance in 5 years, fittingly on Glaswegian imprint Soma. (Their seminal Warp Records album was named Electro Soma...is there a connection) The Bokide 325 EP Is it a planet to be explored, or the journey through a personal hell Only a few know for sure but at the end of this voyage expressed in the best way B12 know how, layers of sounds, beats, synths, lush pads, and seductive melodies the hope of a whole new reality is reached. It conjures up foreboding, planetary soundscapes - rooted in the more ambient, filmic side of their output, is it a reflection of recent turmoil within/ the artists personal lives The EP opens with "Into the Void", whose simple but emotive synth line weaves its way across a variety of beats and sounds, and takes the listener into the depths where the true journey can commence. Onwards, darker and more mysterious notes loom up throughout "Descension" and "Unsound Mind", with pounding bass throbbing underneath, leading further into the world of shadows where the alarming awareness that something isn't quite right never truly leaves you. It concludes with Terra Incognita, the final track of the EP - an unknown place, left to be discovered and completed by the listener.

Through the years, Dragosh has established a solid following for his quality releases like his recent appearance on the Fabric mix series compilation mixed by no less than arpiar's Rhadoo.

'Teoria' is a finely crafted EP of four tracks where intricate rhythms coalesces with synth pads and textures to create mystic atmospheres. The last touch is given by another talented romanian artist like Priku, who reconstructed 'Didiracrac' giving it his typical sound signature.

Möd3rn is a global project from 3 wellknown artists who wanted to give a side project from their own solo career. It's a band, producing, playing live but it's also a label created only for the trio productions. Each releases will propose 3 tracks from the 3 artists. For that third one the famous trio propose 3 huge techno bombs Mö7, Mö8 and Mö9, 3 huge techno killer using rough skins with raw edit. Speech less and listen to that we can call Pure TEchno.
While carefully handling their respective careers, postponing then their obvious collaboration, Möd3rn trio's members have capitalized its desire and now deliver its mere substance, in the rightest moment, where, simply, all the distant forces converge.
The six daring, expert hands merge now into a unique entity, unanimously moving within the same effort towards techno music. Of the distinct identities merely remains the ethereal, synthetic essence devoted to the group, and the common musical passion that leads it. The formula is elaborated freely: each one's adjunctions -subtle keys, nervous chords, underground blows, rhythmical uproars- pour into a thick maelstrom, opaque, condensing Detroit's grieving sensibilities as well as last decade's bewildering cacophonies. The potion obtained is irresistible, an ecstatic hybrid, prodigiously actual, that renders all the genre's diversity and dynamism.
Chance intertwined their paths and now the three companions celebrate both the friendship that resulted and the good fortune that has driven it, by improvising live together as one faceless, solid body agitated by the urge of dance and music, composing the material that shall be processed later on to form their eponym label's releases.

Electrica Salsa - Revisited 30 years later - remixes by Roman Flügel and Henrik Schwarz France, Italy, Austria, Germany - quite precisely thirty years ago, one electronic track turned the European music charts upside down: Electrica Salsa' by the Frankfurt project OFF - a collective producing their tracks at Master Music Studio. The founders of Organisation For Fun' were no underdogs: Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti would go on as duo SNAP! And write global hits like The Power' or Rhythm Is A Dancer", writing pop history. And the third member of OFF was then 21-year-old Sven Väth, today one the most notorious international DJs. Michael and Luca were the masters of equipment, responsible for the mixing desk and the recording tape we used to make the master tapes. I was the one providing song ideas, grooves and bringing a good mood to the studio.

SANTONIO ECHOLS RELEASES HIS FIRST VINYL EP ON CHAPTER TWO RECORDINGS
Santonio Echols is part of the first wave of producers out of Detroit. His sound is a combination of Techno to Deep House, and fans have been patiently awaiting this projects release. He has teamed up with legendary Orlando Voorn and Moire Patterns to create Vol. 1 on Chapter Two Recordings. For the vinyl release Side A will have the first track Back 2 Basics featuring Mike Anderson. It is a special remix by Clemens Neufeld produced by Santonio Echols. The second track will be Walk Away solely produced and mixed by Santonio Echols. Side B will feature two tracks Get Up produced by Orlando Voorn, and Jun produced by Moire Patterns. This Vinyl EP will be available this month.
Santonio started his career under the group Reese & Santonio along with Kevin Saunderson. They produced hits entitled: The Sound, How to play our music, Force Field, Bounce your body to the Box, Self-Evidence, Structure, and many others recording under the record label KMS Records/ Kool Kat Records and London Records. Once separating from the group, he moved forward and started his own imprint: Cyren Records, D Records, and Chapter Two recordings. Santonio continues to produce and record until this day.

'On Line': a collaborative album in parts, focused on themes of repetition, poly-metrics, transformation and abstraction. Volume 1 features contributions from Livity Sound protégé, Simo Cell, Berceuse Heroique regular, Don't DJ, and Wisdom Teeth label head, K-LONE. All of the tracks were written specifically for the project and in tandem, and all are connected by a constant pulse and communal headspace. The record opens with Simo Cell's 'Symmetry': a slow crescendo of whirring pads, melodic percs and dotted rhythms, all underpinned by thick slabs of sub-bass that, with each heavy hit, seem to collapse the track's atmosphere down and in on itself. Next, Don't DJ follows with the oblique, discordant chug of 'Übergang Zur Metrotram'. As with all of Florian's works, the track pulses with an organic, animal quality that completely belies its mechanical origins. Again, the track's space is filled with drifting pads and clanging chimes - but this time the atmosphere is close, discordant and chokingly dense. Last up, K-LONE clears the air with 'Woniso'. The track grows slowly out of a series of beautiful harmonic counterpoints - morphing patterns that come and go in the mix to reveal their individual colours and contours.

Aus Music bring a summer of firsts to a close as they follow up records from the newly collared Recloose, Trevino and Paul Woolford with another new addition to the team: Tom Trago. The Rush Hour regular joins the ranks with 'Being Broke' - a bright and groovy four-track aimed straight at the dance floor of this season's closing festivals. The A side offers up an original and dub version of the title track - a bumping House groove built with playful vocal samples and nifty synth lines. On the flip are two version of 'Good Lies' - the first rolling out over its elongated duration with sharp, galloping hats and free-flowing Rhodes notes. Tension begins to develop as the track steadily snowballs gathering vocal snips and a menacing bass line while the 'Good Christian Edit' offers up a lighter, more early-doors affair bringing a nicely rounded package to a close.

Our B2 and Vinyl Only exclusive cut from Jack On Black - Joe Le Groove and Jib Rafill - turn up the heat with a full on rolling Techno gem, driven by distorted toms and crisp drums. Its a sure shot dance floor winner.

Via Maris kicking off proceedings for Studio Tape-Echo's very-own 'Mechanical Reproductions' imprint, with two acute soundsystem-styled burners. Young blood Via Maris makes his first mark with two weighty Bristol Techno slabs on the brand new label project from Alex Digard, bossman at 'Tape-Echo' - Via Maris has operated just below the radar for some time now, with strong support from the likes of Lurka, Asusu, Batu, Rhythmic Theory and many peers in the scene. It should also be noted that this debut 12 does not bare the mark of a newcomer at all - drop these on a worthy rig and watch the damage unfold. Followers of the Tape-Echo aesthetic will have noticed the dedication to, and unique application of the many facets of the printing process and it's many variables, happy imperfections, and mechanic textures that inform much of Alex Digard's design work.The label's manifesto - head to tape-echo.com for more info, of course - declares this venture as another outlet for the exploration of 'creating the multiple' - wether that's vinyl or print. Suitably, this record comes with a cogently styled, and wholly rational label sticker on the centre and the record is equipped with an A2 litho print, perfectly suited as an adornment for your wall. Temple of the Jaguar' is the first release on Eomac's new label 'Eotrax'. A single sided pressing with an exclusive B-side etching by artist Sal Stapleton. An 11 minute conceptual track that attempts to explore structure and narrative, texture and tone, taking techno as a starting point, but seeking to move beyond its conventions and expectations.Conceived on a visit to Teotihuacan near Mexico City, inspired by both the cosmic and earthly power of the place, 'Temple of the Jaguar' attempts to find a way back to the animalistic nature within us all. A reconnection to the dark, sensual part of us that has been repressed for centuries in a limiting and limited, fearbased, patriarchal society. A reconnection to the body. A reconnection to femininity. A reconnection to wildness. To intuition. To sexuality. To earth.

Escorting Sarah, a DIY techno project that explores musical desires through the fetish of wax and the lust of hardware, return for a second instalment. Kicking off with 'Video Shop'; cavernous drums and discordant vocal shards rip throughout whilst 'Curb Crawler' is , a heady wall of sound that delves deep with a serious punch. 'Hotline' rounds things off with a laser guided assault on the senses.

Few Nolder has created a fitting second EP for Gardens of God's Sodai label, spotlighting the cream of electronic talent coming out of Lithuania. 'Ace Of Space' confidently delivers three original tracks that build upon an already solid reputation.
Showing a steady upward trajectory, Few Nolder has established himself as an internationally respected DJ-producer'sosaidXLR8Rofhisrecentwork.Hisopeningtrack'Balance'isthemostunexpectedtrack Linas Strockis AKA Few Nolder claims to have done in years. He is particularly surprised with his approach,discussing the deep percussion and long tail cowbells together with windy tex tures, and lush hypno feel'.
While 'Teaser', which Gardens Of God played during his Back to Back with B.Traits on BBC Radio 1 recently is contrastingly unrelenting. The m elody evolves into a monster', he says of the record, which can be heard in the metal snares and enchanting flute. On title track 'Ace Of Space' Nolder wants you to imagine stars passing by in their intergalactic travels (whilst the drops) are like a return from an uncharted nebula'. This is an EP based on big melodies and endless spaces, and a worthy fit for the burgeoning label.
Few Nolder has been creating music for over a decade with a steady succession of releases on Ghostly International, Planet MU, Connaisseur Recordings and Needwant Recordings.

The second Eliptic vinyl is coming from GIAS, fresh collaboration between Julian and Andrei Stoian, Bucharest based producers. This 3-track release perfectly combines various feelings and it takes you through happiness, melancholy and joy.
A-side Un Anume' focuses the action around the occasional spoken vocals helping things roll along, groovy and perfect for the main part of the night. On B-side Pedant' is a little darker and melancholic, but maintains the obsession with rough-but-groovy rhythms and mind-bothering bass vibrations.
Stop Cadru' is the track that puts you in action through each element, waterish sound, sustained by subtle hats and voices and a powerful bass line.

The first lady of underground music Hannah Holland makes her debut on Crosstown Rebels with Fade To Me featuring her long standing collaborator, friend and fellow Londoner, Josh Caffe. Cult favourites Tuff City Kids aka Gerd Janson & Philip Lauer step up with a remix and dub to complete this stellar collection.
Having met on the dancefloor at one of Damian Lazarus's parties in the early 00's, Holland and Caffe bring their signature sound, which they describe as 'sleazy as hell!' With a career in underground dance music spanning over a decade, Holland is a lady who understands what works. With her experience and Caffe's vocals, Fade To Me is for those who long to be absorbed in the music.
German duo Tuff City Kids provide a tight remix that ups the tempo and twists the sound into their own, and conclude the EP with a sublime dub version. Having previously remixed Azari & III, Avalon Emerson, Sven Väth and Scuba to name a few this is a duo that are revered by their peers.
DJ, producer and founder of the labels Batty Bass and Native City, Hannah Holland is a solid figure within the underground dance scene. Earning her stripes through early London residencies at Trailer Trash and Dalston Superstore, she has since toured the world, had a monthly show on NTS and released on Nervous Records, Get Up Recordings and Classic among others.
Josh Caffe is an assured figure within the scene, having been a vocalist for numerous house and techno releases, DJ'ed at some of the biggest festivals, resident and founder of Night Sheen whilst also producing his own music.

Connected Vol.2 is fully dedicated to Italian techno. As there are many producers from Italy, we picked 2 artists to who we feel particularly connected to their music - Sisko Electrofanatik and Mr. Bizz.

Sisko Electrofanatik is known for several releases on Yoshitoshi, Bush, Monique, BluFin,Armada Music and of course his own imprint Gain Records. Here we go now with Blind which is a heavy techno booster, predestined for the prime time. His second track Cosmo rolls through the floors and gets displayed better in the way of an anthem.

Two more excellently produced techno pieces come from Cagliari boys Mr Bizz, who were pushed after their debut releases 2013 on Dubfire's label Sci+Tec and Monika Kruse's Terminal M. Dark Shadow is a well sorted Techhouse into Techno track and includes their typical dark voice snaps. Proper functional techno with a buzzing sub,surrounded by halled elements and spheres, is the matter of Workplace . Connect your mind and feel the vibe!

Roman Flügel and Andrew Weatherall supply two outstanding remixes of Phil Kieran recent album 'Blinded By The Sun', which David Holmes claimed is 'one of the best electronic dance inspired records in recent times.'
Mixmag described Phil Kieran as 'one of those producers that impresses with every release' so it comes as no surprise that two music heavyweights have jumped on board for remix duty. Kieran accounts Flügel and Weatherall to both having a heavy influence on his career. German DJ and producer Roman Flügel is easily one of the most revered names in the dance music spectrum. His take on 'No Life' is a masterclass in production. Flügel has created a track that is powerful whilst also superbly intricate. Flügel holds over twenty years of experience, extensively releasing on a number of labels whilst also co-founding Ongaku, Klang and Playhouse Recordings.
UK born DJ and producer maestro Andrew Weatherall remixes 'Finds Love' and reminds the listener of how beautiful electronic music can be. Combining cosmic layers with the ethereal vocal, this is a lesson in what a remix means. Weatherall has been experimenting with techno since the 90s, and well regarded as one of the world's most influential DJs.
Kieran created a ten track narrative in 'Blinded By The Sun', inspired by his experiences in the industry. It was met with high acclaim globally and this remix package further imprints his vision on pioneering imprint Hot Creations.

'Different Shapes & Sizes' is a new, 3 part series of EPs from Berlin resident Spencer Parker forthcoming on his Work Them Records imprint over the next few months.

Conceived as a neat way of showcasing Parker's love for different shades of house and techno, 'Different Shapes & Sizes' takes a walk through the Rekids artist's love for the subtle differences in the genres he tends to focus on most in his sets.

London-born Parker has been in fine fettle this past few years with his It's Not Over project riding high while Work Them Records has been lauded for tracks and remixes from the likes of Radio Slave, Rodhad, Pittsburgh Track Authority,
Young Male and Dan Beaumont.

After a hiatus of more than ten years, one of house music's most essential and influential labels is back in the game. That label is UMM, originally from Naples in Italy, which is now re-launching with a fine EP from Milan based producer and DJ, Ten Words.
UMM, which stands for Underground Music Movement, is a label which defined a unique style of house music in the 90's. Relying heavily on a fresh underground Italian sound that it cooked up with some key artists, it was the first label to do so thanks to working closely with the likes of Visnadi and Daft Punk, Fathers of Sound and Francesco Farfa, Glenn Underground and MAW, and Todd Terry and Roger Sanchez amongst many others. Now it is back where it belongs, unearthing fresh new talents and directing the global dance music agenda with each exciting new release. Behind the relaunch is Media Records, the most successful dance label in Italy since the '80s, which is headed up by long time music producer Gianfranco Bortolotti, who himself has put out more than 150 gold certified singles and albums and who will also re-launch the BXR, Heartbeat and Underground imprints in 2017.First out of the blocks for this great new chapter is an EP from Ten Words, who hails from a family of musicians and also has formal skills on the piano. His early releases gained strong support from legends like Sanchez, with further releases coming on labels like Black Hole. DJs like Loco Dice, Paco Osuna and Claude von Stroke often reach for his tunes, and his last release climbed high into the Top 20 of the Beatport Techno Chart. "I make music with passion and without preconceptions of genre and style' says the man himself, and he really proves that here.

Up first, Eighteen featuring Ghost Wars is a broody house track that is deep and seductive. Rubbery drums and icy hi hats all get cut through by big frazzled synths and there is plenty of spooky atmosphere in the grooves. Satellite is another standout track, this time going more direct and physical with driving drums and spanned synths whipping about up top. Epic and elegant it is followed by a 10WS remix of Eighteen that is rock solid and raw and designed for a big warehouse with its solid kicks and molten melodies. Last of all, the same cut gets reworked by End to End and comes out as a hypnotic and heady roller that burrows deep into the night.
This is a triumphant return to the scene for UMM and one that suggests this legendary label is going to be just as essential second time around.

The Experience is a project by Andrea Benedetti and Eugenio Vatta released back in 1992. The track "Madcap" was realized during the period of the collaboration of the duo with Lory D'S Sounds Never Seen period and it's an experiment that mix techno, breakbeat and sample extravaganza at its best. The main track "Tubes" was a deep techno monster presented in two versions. One has been recoreded live with Andrea Benedetti managing drum machine and bass, Eugenio Vatta sampling, chords and effects and Paolo Dieni on percussion. The second one has more emphasis on melodies and effects with different equalizations and volumes concerning percussion and drum machine. Hailing from the city of Bucharest, Nice ' N Trick have been earning their stripes over the past couple of years, which includes having works on labels such as Mulen, Heisenberg, Arupa, Baile Musik, Tzinah and many more. Their track 'Adiacent' delivers the vibrant sounds we love, brought together with tight percussion and warm soundscapes.

Another gem from Bucharest has contributed to 4PLVB001. Direkt has become a good friend of the label and we are extremely happy and proud to have him on board this release. 'Caries' is a bouncy and atmospheric track that delivers a solid analog sound - another factor we feel passionate about. No doubt this wont be the last you hear from Direkt in coming months...

Percival is also an analog head. This Detroit artist has bundles of musical knowledge and a love for many types of music. His track 'All Night' is a vocal orientated track with crisp hats and snares, and a pounding kick throughout - we love the mood this track set's at parties.

In the past few months, 4Plae founder ADMNTi and head honcho at Samani - F.eht, have formed a collective, FAT. Their remix of Percival's track sets a moodier vibe in comparison to the original, and wraps up the release nicely with evolving synths and techier sounds.

Owen Offset's - Inhale strikes for AA012 with a massive remix bundle. After the thriving - Platen EP , the Maltese DJ &, producer will get back to what he can do at his best - breathtaking techno. So the original is an exciting masterpiece, driven on a low-beasty rotating bassline. A looming and menacing synth enters the track, followed by a female moan full of relish - or is it just an inhale Decide yourself.

Remix round one is from none other than Sven Wittekind. The boy from the Abstract family adds some rawness and pounds straighter through the speaker and scores with a filtered acidic bassline. Like a mighty techno trip.

Boss-time for remix number two: Dominik Vaillant takes a wild ride and opens the synth for a turbulent and expanded flight. Don't stop inhaling.

The topping of the remix bound comes from techno legend Joey Beltram. He stirs his experiences into this interpretation and the result is a highly elaborated piece of powerful techno with a touch of retro-sounding elements, but contemporarily fresh!

There's still a magic in this guy's studio and gives the full EP an excellent accolade.

To begin the year with, Antinote summoned Panoptique and JC Satan's Paula to release a badass two-tracker, paying a pared-down tribute to a very overlooked period in recent musical history: the accursed electroclash-era.

At a time when 'Balearic' has become the new musical gospel, the holiest adjective one can use to describe one's music (and therefore, electroclash has become the musical antichrist - to keep going with the biblical comparison)... while everyone seems to glorify stuff like Ibiza's 'endless sunsets', the duo happily kicks over the anthill with a song, a record and a band soberly called Succhiamo (first person plural of 'to suck' in Italian). The title-track straightforwardly announces what the main elements of Succhiamo's music are: over-saturated simple patterns of drum machines and EBM-infused lines of synths backing overtly sexual vocals in Italian. Nothing more, nothing less.

On the flip side, Succhiamo deals with the same formula in depth, engaging this time in detailing a meaningless list of products available in the 'supermercato'. The song conveys a nihilist - but fun - attitude, and it just sounds as if the band was crashing a car in a commercial zone in high spirits... As a kind of inheritor to Ich Bin, Succhiamo offers to bring some stupidity in the club and gives serious dance music producers the finger, like some irreverent Franco-Italian Beavis & Butthead.

Chicago-based legend Traxman, who is one of the most well-known ghetto house producers, is out and about to release 6 brand-new dancefloor trax on Dizzy Tunes.
He has been active since the mid-90s, boasting multiple releases on legendary Dance Mania Records.

He was so happy about this project!!! Even one week later we got the terrible message that he died. We put alot of love and effort in this project to give him his last big monument! Hot on the heels of In.Toto's inaugural release late last year, label owner B.Traits comes out of the blocks with another brace of tracks on the single 'Basic Scenario / Breathe Out'.
'Breathe Out' displays a definitive love of classic techno tropes; basement room bouncing beats and shuffling, bristling hats delivered with urgency and a slickness that has become a hallmark of her productions over the years. Chopped up vocals are pressed through the effects mangler, puncturing this driving techno cut laced with essential 909 rides and flanged percussion.
On the flip, the rubbery and pounding drums of 'Basic Scenario' is just as strong; the dense and reverberating beats providing the perfect vibes for a Berghain or Tresor sweat soaked session, as rising synths and frenzied hand claps produce a real element of drama, ramped up with B.Traits' own vocal monologue, suitably twisted by FX to polish off a well rounded and energetic club cut.
With her first In.Toto release selling out of its vinyl run within one day of going on sale, things are looking very promising for the BBC Radio 1 DJ's label, set up to offer a platform, not only for her own music, but for like minded producers and artists she has admired and promoted on her show and in the clubs. 2017 looks set to be a busy year for the label, so watch this space....

Mesh-Key is thrilled to present this mind-bending solo album of electronics and vocals from legendary Japanese musician Phew. Phew's career began in the late 1970s as lead singer of Osaka punk group Aunt Sally (whose only full-length was released by Vanity Records in 1979). Ryuichi Sakamoto produced her debut solo release in 1980, a two-song single, and in 1981 Pass Records released her debut album, a bonafide masterpiece recorded with original Can members Holger Czukay and Jaki Liebezeit at Conny Plank's studio in Germany. She has forged a singular path over the past thirty-plus years, collaborating with folks like Anton Fier, Bill Laswell, and Seichi Yamamoto (Boredoms). It's borderline sacrilegious to compare an artist as unique as Phew with anyone else, but for those unfamiliar with her work, 'Light Sleep' might be described as a more animated Nico singing (in Japanese) for early Suicide. Prepare to be floored.

"Phenomenon" comes closest to conventional techno, but still drags its feet with every lunge. "Another highly limited vinyl release on Berlin's Weevil Neighbourhood, with a musician from Kyoto called Katsunori Sawa. He's one half of the duo Steven Porter (the other being Yuji Kondo, not Steven Porter) and here he has a classic 12": white vinyl, four tracks, 45 rpm. Just like the good old days and the music is great too. It continues what we heard on the previous release by Steven Porter: minimalist dance music, not too fast (mid tempo this is called, mid of what I always think), repetitive with the use of sound effects enhanced. Delay machines like a fine dub record, yet this ain't dub. Rhythm plays a central role obviously, and sounds here not too dissimilar to Basic Channel/Chain Reaction of a decade ago (maybe it's about time for a revival, I thought) combined with a more abstract side of the axis Porter Ricks, Pan Sonic and Goem, topped with a dash of field recordings. Does that make any sense these days It's a pity I am not a DJ, I thought. I wouldn't mind this kind of stuff for an evening. This record by Sawa would certainly make it into the mix. The State of the World E.P. brings you 4 new tracks by Philippe Petit. Appearing develops a positive tone through layers of heavy bass and a deep 808 kick that finally blooms into a warm synth line. Expanding exults happiness thanks to its multiple layered bleepiness, aiming to put the listener in a state of trance. Shrinking is a hard hitting percussive affair, whose relentless beats, driving hi-hats patterns and claps take you into what can be seen as a neverending downward spiral. Disappearing rings the alarm with a 132 bpm fury of pads and subtle acid, but it might already be too late...

Following a storming barrage of kicks and whistles on "I'm alright mate" via south-westerly label Timedance, Lauded sonic explorer Bruce settles on Hemlock and kindly offers a trio of exotic and rare tracks.'Before You Sleep' is a glimpse into the delirious vacuum of thoughts and weariness induced by habitual insomnia. Lethargic and leaden, the hollow kick drum casts a solemn meter punctuated with blasts of spectral resonance all set against an eerie distant chime. Each pulse weighs deeper as the temperature drops and atmosphere thins. Then it appears.
Cleansed with a lullaby melody floating towards the inevitable dawn, the scene is gradually swept away leaving but a hollow for the new day's air to fill.'In Line' is a scurrying, pneumatic dance spiked with a punch of sparky leads amid pressurised snares and percussion. Never quite settling, frustrated, twice reset the rhythm steadies and we begin to synchronise.
'Sweat' is constructed in plain sight using concurrent bands of symbolic frequencies, each melding together to forge a self-sufficient protective network. Ancient geodesic blueprints inform the design, bolstered by a microscopic workforce of nano-fx and half-drops. Once this would have taken centuries to complete, thankfully we now have the technology and co-ordinates to establish contact before the next wave arrives.

Kosmos of sound phenomena is devoid of a distinct beginning and end, fluid and polymorphous. Stream of sound is continuous, no matter whether and which volatile events are registered, and which ones are omitted. It is a complex state which transgresses borders defined by source, signal and mechanism of perception. Pastoral/tropical soundscapes and post-brutalist compositions by Max Loderbauer and Jacek Sienkiewicz from their 'End' CD seem to evoke those situations where can actually hear objects, shapes and time flow itself, a sort of synaesthesia which erases and obliterates beginnings and ends of events, processes and phenomena. Apocalyptic and contemplative spaces generated by this pair of seasoned sound creators explode genre bastions of ambient and IDM, leading into the spectral areas once explored by such pioneers and Popol Vuh or Ilhan Mimaroglu. Above all, etheric and extra-sensitive 'End' marks the meeting of two incurable individualists, who use various tools of their trade to come up with a surprisingly atemporal effect, an insistent pulse of detail on an ever-morphing background. Without vivid commentary and recognizable soundbites of the present, 'End' is simultaneously an interesting projection of hopes and anxieties of the New Age. Core of tracks included on the record has been produced on the occasion of Max and Jacek appearing as a live duo during 2015's Berlin Atonal festival, which resulted in well received 'Alpine-Tatra-Himalaian' EP 'Ridges". Remaining compositions are natural conclusion of their friendship, conversations, meetings, trips and recording sessions that operate according to the rule of free improvisation with a reduced instrumental setup.

Mystica Tribe, the dub tribal master from Tokyo, drops his 5th EP and it comes with a superb Chrissy remix. Taka Noda aka Mystica Tribe returns to his own label, Mystica Tribe Records, with this banging 4 track dubby techno-ish bomb. It's deep dub all around on titletrack Jade Eyes, with the trademark Mystica Tribe melodica lifting the spacey, catchy oriental inspired melody. The Chrissy remix of Jade Eyes is a dubby disco party banger, instantly ready for the dancefloor. There are two more dub beauties on this EP: Love Light and Nightbird. Both tracks drive on deep melodies with Nightbird having beautiful oriental influences. It's the soundtrack to a Japanese spaceship crashing into the desert, its passengers getting picked up by passing nomads, ending up in a smoke filled oasis with palmtrees and belly dancers. Essential stuff for dub heads.

Niko Marks exists at a musical intersection where Stevie Wonder and electronic music collide. Born in Detroit and raised by a family of musicians and singers, Niko was taught chord progressions by his mother on the piano and learned the rest by ear. He took just one music class along the way. It wasn't long before Marks' genre-defying path — and ability to sing, write, produce and play — would link him up with the next wave of Detroit techno.
In the early 1990s, Marks was working under the same roof as underground luminaries like Juan Atkins, Eddie Fowlkes, 'Mad' Mike Banks and Jeff Mills. As Underground Resistance established its iconoclast status, Marks joined collaborative production team Members of the House. On Grand River Avenue in the shadow of Cass Technical High School — Detroit's de facto producer of legends like Donald Byrd, Dorothy Ashby and Ron Carter — Marks was helping produce the Motor City's latest musical exports all before he could legally rent a car. It was almost like a revived Motown for electronic and dance music,' recalls Marks. The freedom of electronic music or dance music — I began to really get into that. You're not reduced to a traditional song format. You're more free.'There's no denying, however, that the traditional background Marks hails from sets his prolific catalog apart from the pack. Marks manages to bend those chord progressions learned on his mother's piano to his will today, creating a bevy of soulful techno and house tracks in his wake for labels like U2X Productions Detroit and Carl Craig's Planet E label. Starting in 1999 with his Niko Marks & the City Boy Players' release with Fowlkes, Marks has released new music nearly every year. As a live performer, he's found himself doing stripped down DJ sets as well as bringing his body of work to life as a jazz trio. The trio gives people something more real,

and it sounds fat. "Menschenskind" has delivered with "Tequila" this time
a real Minimal House bomb with catchy tune character. Organic guitar -
samples and fresh Grooves sound like the fruity sweet taste of summer

Alec Troniq, Sonntagsmusikant and Tinush deliver their great remixes on
top. While Sonntagsmusikant holds the striking theme first a little more
covered and comes along even more minimally, Alec Troniq with a stylish
variation of the subject rocks more offensively forwards. Tinush adds with

Second chapter in the AF Voiceless series. The label run by Pervert keeps on broadening its own catalogue by adding artists committed to the underground electronic cause. This EP is a 5-track new voyage through analogue-crafted soundscapes, acid-injected breaks, thudding bass lines, warm and intricate melodies...the sheerest voice for the voiceless. AF005Y introduces new members to the family as Houston-based Daed (Ian Lambert), who displays his ability to create a perfect acid-glitched called 'Pulse Lunar'. Thus, 'Smiley moon' is above all a glimpse into the analogue world of the well-known Rolando Simmons, proving himself he's one of the brightest electronic artists of the moment. Sheffield based Dave Forrester (TechDiff) twists the modular in 'Jamuary' with a killer Aphexian/Jenkinson temper. Longing raving days are depicted in 'Quest' with an evocative electro halo by the hand of the Irish producer Cignol. Last but not least, 'Smoke', an acid junglist and braindance orgy signed by Gareth Clarke, known for his previous works on Canada's Sublight Records (Venetian Snares, Bill Laswell) and LoveLove Records. Limited and handnumbered as usual.

The second release from Spazio Records is a transatlantic affair. Made by the dynamic duo Zopelar from Sao Paulo in Brazil and SUMORAI from the southern part of Sweden. The tracks are the fruits from jams made behind hotel walls in Tokyo. Deep, raw and sticky-icky.

A Sacred Geometry continue their label releases with Chapter III, a collection of tracks that are soft, serene and yet captivating. On the A side is 'Atheres', a track that takes over the entire space, building different sonic structures over the rhythm. 'Nineveh' is more hypnotising, with a sonic groove and a rising synth that move fluidly through the track. The B side is formed of two parts: 'Earendel (Part 1)' consists merely of a pulsating drum and high hats, with whispers of notes only beginning to form towards the end. 'Earendel (Part 2)' continues this but with more structure and tenacity, the beat becomes heavier, the melody more focussed. Collectively and individually the four tracks encapsulate the label's ethos and style, marking Chapter III.

Gunnar returns with 'Scale No Flam', his first 12' single for the label. Scale No Flam is both a love letter and a demonstration of why he can't stop getting lost in the sound. According to Gunnar, 'acid is just one of those things that creeps into your life and consumes everything around you - a psychedelic and textural approach to music that is simultaneously intense and smooth.

While acid has come to be defined by the Roland 808 and the 303, the hardware alone can't define the feeling, and Gunnar believes 'You don't need a 303 to make acid, you just need an open ear and an open mind.'

After getting Mike Servito, Justin Cudmore, Derek Plaslaiko, and Bryan Kasenic all running to the booth to see what the fuck was playing at various times when Gunnar was dropping the unreleased 'Scale No Flam' in his DJ sets throughout 2016, we had no choice but to press it to vinyl. Gunnar tells us he was playing around with trying to replicate the bass line of Heaven 17's 1982 classic 'Let Me Go' when 'things kinda mutated.' The A side is completely Gunnar's own with a dominating acid line providing the backbone to a flangey work-out that is simultaneously totally crazy and totally logical. On the B side, fellow Brooklynites and co-members of the Hot Mix DJ crew, Mike Servito and Justin Cudmore add their perspective with a remix that draws out the hidden angular funk.

Raw Waxes' sixth release 'One Man Army' features Irish techno artist Lee Holman offering a four tracker obsessive pack without compromises. The record is the second installment of a new series of vinyl releases displaying German illustrator Benedikt Rugar as artwork designer. The record comes in a transparent sleeve with an additional non-credited insert by Rugar representing the imagery of a 'techno ants' marching army going to war against Man.

Techno veteran Jens "Lowtec" Kuhn drops the first release for new Malmo label BlundarFrom the loud tape hiss, spooky melodies and weirdo ambient dub intent of "Track 2", to the moody, early Autechre throb of Skam-ish closer "Track 4". Dancefloor-minded thrills come in the shape of hypnotic opener "Track 1" - all unsettling, one-note chords, restless rhythms and distant electronics - and the hard-to-pigeonhole madness of the schizophrenic "Track 3".

A new reissue is coming from Merv. Two old and lost tracks, dating from '95 and '98 will be reissued by Styrax in September. While DeepChord in America, or the Thule crew from Island have been inspired by the Basic Channel blueprint sound coming from Berlin, a small group of artists tempted to push their own interpretation. Full of energy, strongly cauterized in mind, wanted to get rediscovered.In the year 1995 'Melted Vein' arose. Hypnotized, slowly but full of strength it became back to the theme. Merv educed their own variation, their own soul. You can hear their further development in the track ' Dust', from 1998. Pads and melodies, from different galaxies, mixed with ascending chords, kept together with the 909. Two tracks, two epic tracks, the pure Merv magic! Both have been re- mastered at the traditionally Berlin Mastering Studios D&M.

This record collects many intimate things and singular ideas about Voiski, it is also an excellent synthesis of his musical style, and how it is evolving towards a more and more unknown territory, where his "post-trance" idea collides classic Detroit influences, 90's techno (with that Underworld cover obviously) and a very unique sonic identity he has developed playing his synths with a bright and powerful sound design, and rich arpeggios.
