Finally repressed

Re-issue of A Thunder Orchestra's 'Shall I Do It', a haunting yet beautiful slice of hypnotic proto techno from the vaults of the rich eighties Belgian new beat / synth wave / EBM noir scene, written and recorded by Dirk Desaever (aka Danton's Voice & White House White) in 1985 and released on a handful of cassette tapes only. Re-discovered by Walhalla records and included on their 'Underground Wave Volume 4' compilation in 2014, now re-mastered and available on 12'' format for the first time ever. Things started to move when label boss Paul du Lac heard this gem being played by Germany's finest, Mick Wills, in one of his trademark epic dj-sets, with the pounding drums, haunting synths and the eerie kid's voice making him fall in love at the spot. It turned out Mick didn't play the original, but, like so often, his own re-edited version: slightly pitched, extended and re-constructed in an utterly brilliant way, perfectly suiting the darkest hours of the night. Eventually, intrigued as the label was with the song and being a big fan of mr. Will's editing craftsmanship, one thing led to the other, and Bio Rhythm is now proud to officially present the original A Thunder Orchestra's 'Shall I Do It' in the full glory it deserves, including two reconstructed versions by Mick Wills, one that starts with the intro just like the original and a special beat version for even more convenient dj use. JUNK is inspired by Vik Muniz's ground-breaking documentary Waste Land, which tells the story of the landfill site, Jardim Gramacho, on the outskirts of Rio De Janeiro. Recycling fragments of German electronica, disco and 80's synth from his childhood and fusing these with new, found sounds, Lywood takes us on a journey through his world of JUNK re-imagined.
Five of the tracks are named after some of the largest landfill sites around the world, and Trash Vortex is named after the swirling mass of plastic waste the size of Texas, in the North Pacific. It's time to have Fun in the Murky again as the 4th EP arrives on platters courtesy of JoeFarr. This record, bearing Joe's daughter's stylized name has been something of a special project here at FitM. Originally intended for vinyl release on Turbo Recordings of Montreal I couldn't stand it when I found the vinyl release was no longer planned. I got in touch with both Joe and the kind folks at Turbo and have licensed it for this vinyl release. It truly is a record I believe in.

Starting off with IDOMTYK and ending with Ftone it's a brutally honest look at the dancefloor. one side is covered with spastic rave stabs and vocal hooks and the other takes the early 90's approach to solid electronics. All in all it's how we define Techno in these parts. I hope you enjoy it --on vinyl!-- as much as we do.

The second serving from Schmorgasbord brings together two relatively disparate and unrelated artists, but who both share a uniquely twisted approach to making music. S-Max has been doing his thing for some time, running legendary home all things bizarre in house and techno, Boogizm, and releasing a special kind of groove on labels such as Telegraph, 7th City and Karloff. His original track, 'Ms. Rosen Dub', swaggers and sways with the spirit of classic Yorkshire bleeps and bass. The groove is house, but the spirit of adventure is most definitely techno. His remix of Spatial's 'Corti' takes a very different approach, taking a rolling, jungle-like approach to dubstep and nailing it to the groove with stabbing bass notes. Spatial leapt onto the bass music radar late 2008 with his shadowy Infrasonics imprint, and quickly snapped heads with his crisp, refined approach to 2-step rhythms. Since then he's done things on his own terms, only releasing for himself and mutating his sound over a series of 10's. 'Corti' perfectly demonstrates Spatials unconventional tendencies, lurching and buckling around a perfectly honed splatter of beats, off-centre synths and delirious vocal snippets. Meanwhile on his remix of S-Max, Spatial flips the script once again with a stomping, swung techno angle that hammers the original into an uptempo, fist-pumping banger.

Jericho One, the Creme Organization off shoot, is back with a new EP from Ebony vs 'R' entitled Real Truth. It features three cuts in all, one by Ebony and two by 'R', and all them are intoxicating techno affairs. Continuing in the label's tradition of making modern sounds that draw on breaks and bass, it is another fine EP after great offerings from BNJMN and Noface amongst others. Ebony goes first with Real Truth and offers a track that is both punchy and powerful thanks to its raw and thumping drums, but spiritual and serve thanks to the pained and soul infused vocal wails up top. Glistening glass pads and over sized hi hats add to the intensity of this classy rave banger. 'R' then serves up Focus, eight minutes of freaky and hypnotic techno with creepy voices moving about the space as distorted kicks and droning reverb brings a physical feel. It's intense and dark and then comes Colossus, a breakbeat driven track with heavenly pads making for a grand and atmospheric headspace. Cosmic signifiers and far off pads add to the serenity of it all and will leave you with both a heavy heart and a stomping foot.

After showcasing the debut releases from The High On Wye Quintet (Magic Mountain High, Soulphiction and Steevio) and Monoak, the Freerotation label returns with a various artists 12' featuring four more artists intrinsically linked by the annual festival. Anthony Child, aka Surgeon, has been a regular fixture since first appearing at Freerotation in 2011. His recent exploration of modular synthesis and use of the Buchla Music Easel has found a home in the ambient yurt at the festival, and equally has manifested in album projects such as 2015's Electronic Recordings From Maui Jungle Vol 1. Unconscious Fearless Determination' follows on from this more experimental, less dancefloor-focused side to Child's work, while still pulsing with the techno fundamentals that quickly defined him back in the mid '90s. Duckett hails from North Wales, and has been a key part of the Freerotation fabric since the beginning of the event. After some releases on Mindtours, MindYourHead and Sthlmaudio back in the mid-'00s, his music has started to reach a new audience through releases on UntilMyHeartStops and a clutch of lauded live performances. Breaks My Heart When I Remember That Day' captures the alien synthesis and emotional heft that singles Duckett out as such a remarkable artist. Steevio is the co-founder of Freerotation and Mindtours Records, responsible for a huge swathe of techno releases reaching back to the '90s. As well as his releases on Mindtours, he has recently appeared on UntilMyHeartStops and in collaboration with Pev on Schmorgabsord, and is set to appear on Russ Gabriel's new label Rivers Of Groove. With its expressive swells of off-kilter melody and snaking drum lines, Pendulum' continues the thread of exploration Steevio has been following on his journey into experimental modular techno. Tom Ellis has been prolifically issuing forth material in a soul-enriched space in between house, techno and funk for more than ten years. From running the acclaimed Trimsound label to releasing albums and singles on Telegraph, Archipel, Hartchef Discos and more recently Ethereal Sound to name but a few, Tom's recorded work and immersive live performances continue to reach out to new moods and timbres. As A Take' finds Tom at his most reflective, layering on dubby effects and organic instrumentation in a truly meditative end to the EP.

Dutch collaborative label ESHU Records is back with more inventive techno, this time from Tom Liem and Ben Buitendijk on their 'Split 01 EP'. Liem has already released here as J&L (together with label co-founder Jocelyn Abell), and has also done so on one of the excellent Field Records compilations. Now he makes his solo proaction debut, and it is a fine one across two tracks, while Mosaic associate and Rotterdam producer Ben Buitendijk also serves up a fine solo contribution to complete another promosing release. Opener 'Equilibrium Two' from Buitendijk is a perfectly streamlined and serene bit of spaced out, hypnotic techno. Gentle synth pulses roam about the airwaves, left and right, up and down, as ethereal pads glow behind. It's heady dancing music, whilst Liem's 'Contact' is also perfectly aimed at both head and heel. It is full of lick synth pulses that bubble and boil as watery droplets and ticking hits also colour the most subliminal groove. Closer 'This Is All You Need' is a more textured, frazzled cut with frosty lines and rickety pads working you into a trance. Rich drums and clever bass filtration add dynamics and tension and so like everything else here the end result is hugely captivating.

Other than thousands of hardened workers elbow to elbow, pounding sheets of metal, we're in a dead zone - an imaginary sphere extending miles in every direction, devoid of life. Volume and vibration drove away all that could sense it, with the remainder of the food chain following.

In municipal work yards thousands of men and women (panel beaters in this case) are pegged out in a grid, each allocated a 120cm square. Amenities amount to uncovered channels from each work station, feeding into larger channels which facilitate the exodus of waste, like an irrigation system in reverse. However a lone figures' tributary remains unblemished. Yard Elders claim he hasn't relinquished solid nor liquid, neither eaten, slept, or spake a single word since his presence permeated sector eight. Preposterous this claim undoubtedly is, it was only talk of his strike rate climbing to nine hits per second that pushed the Elders' credibility beyond repair.

At work in his booth, this man's worn, nub-like hammers thrash away as though their true destiny lay a foot beneath the steel. It is his rhythm alone that welcomes the dawn, and continues on to exceed the standard work-day by God knows how long. The question being: what fuel then does this man-machine require to punctuate time's passing so relentlessly

Somewhere in the sprawl an inaction sparks a pause. Metal workers exponentially drop out of the industrial orchestra, stillness rippling outwards til the whole yard rests agape. The figure everybody now beholds bears aloft a mighty hammer that with the inevitability of death, comes arcing down while impoverished lungs screech into the air "CHANCELLOR!!!"

Gynoid Audio label owner Advanced Human from Sydney presents his third vinyl EP on Swedish label Counter Pulse.

He pays tribute to the silver screen and beginnings of black and white monster movies from Japan, and takes influence from his beloved Gamera series.

Clip Gebre EP Abstract Places Audio Ubiquitous Barcelona producer Edu Tarradas keeps on gaining a wellearned reputation as Clip. Tarradas was invited to the 2011 Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid and has provided vigorous releases to such labels as Discomaths, Struments, Classicworks and FINA White, where the pounding "Brotherhoood EP" was released to be supported by serious selectors as Ben Sims, Truncate, Anja Schneider, XXXY, Throwing Snow, Skream, Luke Solomon and Simon Baker.

Now, Clip returns to action with the first release of his own imprint (along with fellow Barcelona producer Xixa) Abstract Places Audio. This Gebre EP confirms him as a true bassmaster in his own genre always providing emotional response to the floor twisting techno codes with a house groove with powerful basslines that are the spine of the development of the track. On these four new tracks, Tarradas shows many different faces as a producer and showing the influence of ambient and dub on his music. Although this is not strictly a club record, A side brings enough energy to keep the floor packed, always with a dark hint that keeps things coherent and make them rise over the average DJ tool. Risks taken in his 100% analogical live sets now pay Tarradas the reward of a more complete musicianship with more drama and deepness added to his compositions.

Opener "Gebre" ("Rime" in Catalan) sets the mood: dark, acute techno from minute one with noisy frequencies that graze the track like airplanes over the dancefloor. Mysterious "Boira" ("Mist") mixes deep echoes with frozen ambient layers and distant clapping in a cinematic track. On the other side,
"Miratge" ("Mirage") keeps on adding frozen and distant layers over a collection of brilliant beats that seem to grow and speed up endlessly. "Zud" closes the pack as an ambient track full of tension. Avoiding almost completely the influence of house that propelled his music in previous releases and adding a masterly dark tone, Clip excels in creating a coherent and haunting atmosphere in this debut EP from his new label. An excellent opener for a label that will become everyone's favourite.

Dave Tarrida who released his music on legendary labels such as Tresor and Sativae in the past, is now delivering his first solo-ep on Nachtstrom Schallplatten. The release is completed by a superb remix of Dualit, an uprising artist known for his latest appearance on Chris Liebing's infamous CLR imprint. The EP will be coming on pure white vinyl for all those collector's out there.

We are really proud and honored to present ESPECTRUM, a year-long effort to put together a compilation of the best dub techno. The idea was simple, but ambitious: ask some of our favorite artists for one track to epitomize dub techno—the style of music we've loved and continued to develop since our birth as producers and a label. With a very precise idea of what we wanted to collect, the compilation was carefully built with hypnotic, obscure, dense, and magical sounds with an eternal hook. These are the kind of tracks that will never lose their appeal, because they go above and beyond labels, styles, and trends, resisting the passage of time. After the first tracks starting coming in, the idea grew more and more special, and the concept even stronger. We knew we were onto something really big. And, finally, here it is.

The second record of Athens based Equivalence Records comes from the label's co-owner and overall man of the hour, Kreon. Following in the steps of the first release, which has already been played by Ricardo Villalobos in Fabric, 002 features two stripped down stompers, emanating analog warmth and hiss, while holding the groove and mystery throughout. Groovy, low key, sub dub - perfect for those low ceiling places in the late early hours. Early support by the usual suspects.

In Mosca's own words, this release embodies "melting Miami, Rio, a field just outside the M25 and The Bronx into modern-day London."

Physical Therapy makes his debut on Spencer Parker's Work Them Records with a medley of club focused techno cuts.
Growing up in New Jersey, Physical Therapy later moved to Chicago, then New York, before finally settling in Berlin where he's quickly built a profile as a stand out DJ/producer.
Baktadust comes in the form of two tracks: the fast tempo main mix that combines peppy piano riffs and metallic effects, as well as a slower fried mix featuring cleaner chords and a sultry bassline.Push Me then demonstrates robust percussion, a rumbling low-end and eerie tremolo atmospherics before shadowy echoes and off kilter kicks conclude the release in Spasm.

Falling Ethics returns with the 9th installment in their string of steady Techno releases. This time around Psi-DOM is on duties with a 4-track EP that consists out of tracks with all Latin titles. Like suspected FEX009 is again showcasing the more experimental and wild side of electronic music. Stephan Hinz is back for seconds and this time he's flying solo with his Throwl EP. These are two massive dance floor tunes that will surely find their way into every room scenario for the foreseeable future.

On the A side is the EP title track, 'Throwl' and Hinz does it again. Much like the huge hit 'Doch' from Hinz & Ruhmhardt's Panther EP earlier this summer, he's laid the groundwork with a giant kick drum, rolling bass and crisp hi hats, while a warm, distorted organ line relentlessly works into crescendo it never fully reaches. 'Throwl' creates a massive amount of energy by never going over the edge, but taking it right there. Another brilliant display of how real restraint works magic on a crowd.

For the flip side, Hinz goes peak time psychedelic with 'Ignite'. A big kick drum and tight hat lock the groove while a single note and pulsing pad build the tension until the main element reveals itself as just a few notes stuck in a warm, dizzying loop. As the lead intensifies, its repetition becomes increasingly hypnotic and the bass kicks back in. From here it's all eyes closed and all hands in the air.

Having opened Feel My Bicep up for the first time with their previous 12' from New Zealand duo Sandboards, Bicep now welcome another new signing into the fold in the form of Brassica.

Evod, Oisel and Syntaxism return with their "E.O.S." collaboration. Luna Crescente is composed by two strong tracks that have different appearance, but same nature. Orbita x is a slow track that contains granulated, ferrous sounds, accompanied by a pulsating oscillator and various sharp ambient sounds. Orbita y is a strong tune in which, almost during all the time, there are an intense groove and a sequenced modal oscillator.-----------

Young impetuousness joins old school wisdom to create the Vol of Chinese Laundry Records, a minded and Roland based EP from I.vy and Solid State, who gave his old school touch to this release.

A dynamic EP , british inspired , with a strong impact , both on the listener and on the dancefloor.
The synths , particularly acids but also electro, serve as a guideline in a swinging journey , which rises directly from the stomach.
The balance between the sounds , all Roland based , is pleasant , and the structure is full and essential. Drum, kick and hihat are always clear, and develop in parallel to the groove, very engaging in all three tracks, alternating emotions and abstract delusions .

On side A , 36 Oaths is the most impetuous track : it consists of a deep kick , a clap, and a self-centered synth minded which give a compelling rhythm to the track .
In White Lotus the hihat are sharp and add themselves to the acid synths, which mark the full overview of the meaning of the track , quiet in the first half , rising in the second . On the B side , I.vy On Acid offers a durable and nice groove.

JET SET and CCCP could be viewed as a continuation of Kareem's CASPIAN GOLD EP. It shares the broken structure however adding more detailed and complex arrangements to the approach of TECHNOID PERCUSSIVE NOIZCORE. Both tracks break a little with the more static direction of Caspian Gold and especially Jet Set emphasises on the power of continues modulations with skull breaking precision resulting in merciless sonic depravation.

Monika Kruse's label Terminal M was founded in the year 2000 and 13 years later it's now time to celebrate the 100. release. And we are very glad that our closest friends Andhim, Yousef, Paul C & Paolo Martini, Pele & Shawnecy and Darlyn Vlys celebrate with us with an exclusive track for this release. We warmly welcome back Kettel who makes his return to Clone/DUB records since his debut Cenny Crush 15 years ago (which was followed by the brilliant Whisper Me Wishes in 2007). After a hiatus of 3 years since his last release Kettel is releasing his new album on Clone Records. The talented musician has been busy with producing music for computer games and commercials, but is now offering a fine selection of pieces he has made in the last couple years with this full length in mind. The result is a playful, inspiring, eclectic, delicate, melodic, well-balanced and brilliantly produced album fuzzing elements of electronica, classical music, jazz and techno stirred into flawless, memorable compositions. As a 90's kid Kettel has always been inspired by the early electronica pioneers (whose names don't even need to be mentioned... everyone knows who we're talking about right), and on this album too you can hear some of the aesthetics of those late 90's productions, but adopted into Kettel's unique world of confident rhythms and melodies filled with expression. The music on this record has a lyrical quality to it and is so expertly written that it does not strictly depend on it's electronical environment: these compositions would still stand firm performed on whatever combination of instruments. Another lovely and magical release by Kettel thats spreading good vibes from the first to the last second!

* "7 Rooms" is an album that was born in the rooms of an house accompanied only by the moonlight and the union of spirit, mind and heart, which give rise to a succession of compositions by jazz nuances, neo-melodic and electro-acoustic. All this is part of an intent that little strives to bring the listener in scattered places of imagination, giving freedom of movement within their musical journey. "Hanged" electro-acoustic song by low and soft lines are linked with the mystical sound of drum, played strictly by hand. "Detonica" is a piece where rhythm of past ages are transformed into a sinuous ballad, punctuated by the crescendo of a plot that thickens as it scrolls with the inclusion of classical and electronic instruments. The fullness of this passage is immediate transportation. "Confidential Love" A song by the fresh air like a late spring afternoon, which mixes acoustic and electronic instruments for a nice chemistry between melody and absence of rhythm.

* "WoolCover", the embrace of a love of neighbor, love love, narrow; the love that you have next, love you breathe, love unfiltered, the love that homogeneous thoughts and feelings of the listener. DJ/Producer/Professor/Gardener... Den Hague's Overdose is the absolute shit, in our books. This is another must have record from a key figure in the West Coast's (of Holland that is) underground scene. And we didn't even mention Murder Capitol yet... DON.
DJ Overdose made his way to NYC for a long trip somewhere along 2003 or 2004. I had already been collecting his records he did with Ingmar Pauli under the Novamen moniker for some time and his solo work on Murder Capital. With delusions of granduer after hanging with Overdose through his stay in NYC I had asked him to do a record for a quickly failing hip hop imprint I was involved with. He complied, but the record was never meant to be at this time as the label went by the wayside. Eventually in 2006 we got in a van and toured the States, further solidifying an unholy union and a taste for TGIF Friday's. Fast forward to 2015 and we finally got our shit together and present the first DJ Overdose record for L.I.E.S. Overdose has already smashed this year with his Master Control release on Viewlexx and picks up right where he left off with these four tracks. Moody, dramatic, filled with basslines and insane drum programming, this record is meant to be played loud on the dancefloor. Check the curveball title track Hero's Gone Mental for maximum heads down in the cut vibes.

Franck Collin, aka Fleck E.S.C, is an Electro artist originally from France but currently living in Tokyo. Franck's earlier experience playing bass and drums in bands and his love of horror, science fiction and B-movies, naturally drove him to the Electro scene. With additional influences rooted in New Wave, Contemporary, Techno and Ambient, Fleck E.S.C tries to avoid the clichés of Electro, leaning more toward the spooky side of horror and sci-fi and the cheap retro sounds in tribute of the movies he loves. Never too serious or pretentious and always striving for fresh sounds, Fleck E.S.C's music aims to distract the body and the brain.

His 'Nice Guy EP' comprises two killer new tracks that emphasize this sound, the dappled 'What R We Waiting 4' and the ominous tones of 'Nice Guy'. Remixes of the latter come from London Modular's Pip Williams with a sweeping rendition, alongside the mighty Carl Finlow who also adds his magic touch...

Italian label Out-ER celebrates its five years of existence with an incredibly diverse double 12" compilation involving new and old artists who perfectly represent the ample house and techno sounds the label has been spreading: Juan Atkins, Orlando Voorn, Efdemin, Terrence Dixon, label owner Simone Gatto, Civilian, The Analogue Cops, Aubrey, Haiku, Irakli and Regen.

Once again, Donato Dozzy and Neels Spazio Disponibile label has come correct with a fantastic new EP, this time from Donato Dozzy in collaboration with US artist Mike Parker. Parker has a very unique and well styled brand of techno that fits in perfectly with the deeply hypnotic sounds favoured by Dozzy. Together they cook up four more brain frying cuts that are expertly crafted and meticulously sculpted.

Approaching it's 10th year Anniversary, Blkmarket Membership launch their record label. Kicking things off with an E.P by New Yorker Sergio Dimoff. This is an introduction for what is to come. And so it begins...

In part 2 of AUDiNT's cultish cassette boxset trilogy issued by Reel Torque, the secretive sonic research cell disclose two tranches of beguiling experiments by Vietnamese bioacoustics expert, computer programmer and financial strategist Nguyn Van Phong; one side of funeral rites and gong loops recorded c. 1955-1960 on his modified yin yang turntable, as well as one side of his early, algorithmic attempts c. 1972-1979 to forecast stock market data for his financial consultancy, IREX.

Serving to expand the project's chronology both prior to, and post-, Magdalena Parker's Reel Torque Vol.16: Recordings 1964-1972 (which sold out in less than 24 hours upon release in 2015) and after the Martial Hauntology (2014) LP, the 2nd instalment in the series focuses on Van Phong's elaborate history of research into the methodological overlaps between occidental religion and innovative technology, and, likewise, their synaesthetic, cybernetic and mystic applications in the field of phantom sonics.

Side A consists of two Inverse Rites and six Yin Yang Turntable pieces recorded between 1955-1960, both drawing on Van Phong's studies at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in the '50s, where he specialised in practical heterodyning techniques - processes in which simultaneous ultrasonic tones were harnessed to produce interference patterns.

The two Inverse Rites manifest that research in palindromic loops of back-masked funeral chants intended to be played in conjunction with the sacrificial act of burning ghost money (as included in the boxset), which, according to Eastern theology, is a sort of Western Union for the departed. The six moebius strip-like Yin Yang Turntable tracks follow, using bespoke records cleft and reassembled along an S-shaped line, further demonstrating his conception of gong music and the 3rd Ear's potential for blurring distinctions between sound and unsound - the audible and non-audible - and the way they shadow each other like yin and yang. For Van Phong, it is these two opposing, yet complementary forces - whose tension and collision generates everything - that hold the key to his research.

Side B is where it gets properly asymmetric. In eight Channelling The Market tracks, realised between 1972-1979, Van Phong supplements his earliest experiments into the physiological effects of interference patterns on the 3rd Ear with knowledge of Korean brainwashing techniques deviously acquired at an academic conference in Shanghai, 1959.

Utilising those techniques years later, the results of Van Phong's experiments are patently psychotomimetic on one level, but, when decrypted according to his technique, in the final analysis Van Phong has effectively produced a mathematical algorithm for transcoding the voices of the undead into implementable market data, rendering the phantom economy of Ghost money into tangible assets. And it should be considered that Van Phong undertook these experiments knowing the potential that his body could be hijacked by these phantoms voices, which could effectively turn him into a zombie, or transductive cadaver.

Portuguese electronic production duo MUTUAL emerged in a shroud of mystery in March 2015 with A1017, a stunning 3-track debut EP released on Hush Hush Records. The shadowy outfit returns to the Seattle-based label for another confident and expansive 3-track EP that showcases their rough and rugged fusion of deconstructed breaks, distorted jungle, immersive house/techno, and atmospheric ambient styles. After Finitude kicks off with evocative lead single Archê,' a nearly 7-minute journey through unexpected samples, invigorating breaks, nostalgic synths, skittering rhythms, and an exceptionally dynamic arrangement. Contingency pt. I' and Contingency pt. II' fill the B-side, a pair of interconnected tracks that place an enhanced focus on their rich compositional structures, deceptively delicate melodies, blistering percussive techniques, and magnificent flourishes into ambient, noise, and neo-classical terrain. Nowakowski presents: BROR02. With the new EP featuring the track Stateunknwn on BROR Records (cat. no. BROR02), the Gothenburg based label returns with an exciting second release, as the new label presents an alluring pairing of two friends. Samuel has been in the electronic music scene since the 90's with releases on Music Man, Figure, Soma, Klap Klap and Be As One to name a few. He tries to reflect this in his first Ep on Wall Music. Against all expectations, the Sweden techno artist presents his personal facets of his musical repertoire and surprises with his sounds and soundscapes. NYC's Adam X regains his 'floor traction as Traversable Wormhole with a contrasting slab of pounding and rolling techno truckers for Hospital Productions.
Offering his first new Traversable Wormhole productions in well over four years, it's a far more amped X than we last heard on his sluggish, sewer-dwelling ADMX-1 album, Coherent Abstractions for L.I.E.S. in 2015.
Sublight Velocities aims for the jugular up top, squaring off a bruising tattoo of militant kicks packing elephantine recoil while plasmic black drones stoically deplete the spirit, leaving us feeling like a gurning nub and the last person standing in the warehouse.
The coldly hypnotic Semiclassical Gravity rolls off the bone on the B-side, accentuating the groove's elliptical, rolling chassis with acidic subbass rubs and stepping hi-hat patterns seemingly dispersing the other side's lactic build up and steeling the dancer for what's to come.
