Light as a feather and colorful as the autumn and spring: the new album of Kuniyuki Takahashi, sometimes known as Koss, is an affair of the heart. It spreads love while revealing that the man from Tokyo is one of the finest Japanese producers at the frontier of classic, jazz, house, ambient, and electronic songwriting. One thing all his artistic expressions have in common: they are loaded with tones and rhythms straight from the heart that filter and modulate human emotions without losing their natural source. Until today he released five full length albums and countless Eps on Mule Musiq. And this with an artistic progression from an electronic producer to a musician that melts organic instruments with electronic sounds while showing his love for free spirited rhythms and bittersweet melodies. He is also a man of collaborations and already worked together with such one off a kind artists like Innervisions jazz house icon Henrik Schwarz .

Under his second nom de plume Koss he also produced beside lots of albums and EPs a jazz infiltrated ambient trip together with the Swedish Minilogue boys Marcus Henriksson and Sebastian Mullaert. His new album features now again guests like Bugge Wesseltoft, Anne Clark, or Henrik Schwarz - just to name a few. They all play with and not for him! A quality that attributes to Kuniyuki's way of sharing music and to his rich diversified knowledge about it. Because beside his work as a musician he breath sounds all day long and listens to tons of possible musical expression from all decades to keep his consciousnees wide open.

This openess is inscripted in - Feather World' all over the place. The album opens with - Before Creation' - a slow ambient intro enriched with a sweet piano phrase, strings, and a clandestine loop driven rhythm. Then comes - Inner Groove' - a composition in which Norway's terrific jazz pianist Bugge Wesseltoft jams playful to an airy rhythm arrangement that reminds partly on Herbie Hancocks spiritual - Rain Dance' and that grooves with a Jaco Pastorius funk bass coolness.

Thereon Kuniyuki travels to Africa, drops an earthly rhythm and let the singer Sona Diabaté from the West African Republic of Guinea hum soulful together with a wild but noble touching African guitar melody. All those who are familiar with Kuniyuki's work know about his passion for house music made by such heroes like José - Cochise' Claussell. With the track - Shout' he assures this love while using electrifying percussion beats that dance around deep melancholic saxophone melodies played by Tetsuro Kawashima, one of Japan's most famous saxophone players.

That followed the guitar mojo ambient composition - The Big Wall' which functions like a little bridge that ease the listener before entering the second part of the album. This starts with the dancefloor bomb - The Session 2' - which Kuniyuki produced with his longtime buddy Henrik Schwarz. A house track full of stirring jazz flute madness and rhodes driven chords that got everything it takes to put a smile on the lips of dancers who like to enjoy jazzy mood experiments.

Subsequent with - Between Shadow and Lights' he continues to keep his eyes on the dancefloor - this time with a more minimalistic foggy arrangement to which the legendary New Wave spoken word queen Anne Clarke chants with her incompareable androgyn cold chilling voice. It is not that last time that Kuniyuki features extraodinary vocals on - Feather World'. In the very last quite part of the longplayer also Joyce Bowden, known for her heartfelt contribution to the Arthur Russel compilation album - Another Thought', hums to a folk influenced slow rythmn track that waves the listener a goodbye from a freethinking album to which he will return to forever!

Hi everyone, it's been a while since last release (Anthemusa E.P.) and I would like to thank for following us with increasing interest and for the great feedback. I have been taking my time for the upcoming release, because I know it takes time and quietude to craft a good one. Today I'm proud to announce the third release of Outis Music; I have had the pleasure to collaborate with a old friend from Rome: Giorgio Gigli. From my personal point of view he has a really personal style in every track he produce, and I0m sure that this is why his music is worldwide recognized and played. What is somewhat unusual is the fact that despite we have been living in the same town, we never had the pleasure to collaborate on the same project; then, suddenly, due to a mixture of factors, we were able to find the right timing for working together to produce "Sons of Poseidons E.P."

Beginning his relationship with Cadenza back in 2008, German production wizard Reboot has since frequented the label, his solid tech house soundscapes and innate ability to keep his musical structure moving forward being catalyst to his reputable name. Following the incredible Shunyata' album on Cadenza in 2010, Reboot is back on the imprint with the "Beautiful Parasite'"EP, including two remixes from Robert Dietz and Cesar Merveille.

What a joy to enjoy the house roar, the funk rejoicing and the black energy from the 90s of the first reference of this new Oblack label in which their own mentors, Los Pastores, debut. Who better than them to set the stage for a new sound platform in which, above everything else, there is no boredom and the track is greater than the one in a Formula 1 circuit.
In this 'Other Sentido EP' the duo from Valencia, facing the 90s without anger and with a clear underground scent -is more groove than ever, making a track which gets deeply involved-, with an original range of crazy sonic elements to it being added as it evolves. It finishes bursting into a kind of Martian orgy in which there is room for even breaks, 8-beats, Chicagoan pianos, soul vocals and all that amalgam of sounds, with nothing in common, but that together are a bomb -rare and catchy- on the dance floor. Different, fun and brave ... that's Los Pastores, and this 'Other Sentido EP' in which the unmarked cards of Oblack are disclosed.
Aldo Cadiz signs a remix based on the original track giving it a stronger and clearer appeal. He makes it more technical and shapes it, providing it with somewhat trance atmospheres, and then adjusting it to any club where these types of crazy tracks are enjoyed and no one knows what will happen right around the corner of each beat. Definitely, a bizarre remix that perfectly fits the disobediently dislocated and difficult-to-label track.
Finally, 'Curcuma', original track by Los Pastores, brings us back to those passages of house with strong African-American roots, a very warm percussive character - as addictive as prone to dancing-, and a taste for rumbling retro sounds - or we could better say timeless- which are recovered here to perfectly combine new with avant-garde. Afro sensuality, jazz dyes and synthetic soul are the unmistakable characteristics of the pastoral home. Bravo -Oblack and Los Pastores-, and carry on.

After a break from releasing new material while he concentrated on developing the Freerotation Electronic Music Festival, Mindtours label boss Steevio is back with a 4 track EP of live improvised modular music. (Limited Edition - 300 copies)
Modular Techno Vol 1 is four tracks of raw, deep, jazz tinged, freeform, analogue minimal electronics, recorded during practice for Steevio's live performance at Freerotation2011.
All sequencing and sound manipulation was jammed live on Steevio's purpose built modular synthesizer, without the use of a computer, and without EQ / compression / mastering or any other processing during the recording or at the record cut itself, in a deliberate attempt to capture a live electronic music performance directly to vinyl.
Steevio's mission is to continue to develop his modular synthesizer and live technique, whilst recording outtakes from his studio sessions. These will be released as further volumes in the Modular Techno series.

Introductions first. Ive made over eighty of my own productions, and tampered with countless other tracks in a remix guise. Delirium was my first gig at Delirium (Londons first house club) in 1991 - which basically consisted of me slipping on a record when Noel Watson went to the toilet - to more recent gigs at Garage City, Off Centre, Angels of Love and Ministry of Sound, Ive played pretty much everywhere.

Ive been surrounded by music and vinyl from an early age, my Dad worked in a record store, bringing home all the latest releases to me. Enterprisingly, I would slyly slip them into my schoolbag and take them to school, subsequently selling them to my friends.

When anything came out, my Dad would bring it back to me: I had the first Specials record, the first Electric Light Orchestra record... Hed also bring me little boxes of returns and stuff. Wed sell them at school fairs. All the other kids would be doing Bob the Apple, and wed be getting these twenty seven year old punks coming up from the Kings Road for Clash box sets for twenty quid a go. We knew what was going on...! This grew up with me, and I went on to work in Quaff Records and Vinyl Solution, two of Londons finest record stores.

Dont ask me what I play - I hate pigeonholing. At our club on a Friday night (The Notting Hill Arts Club that I do with Patrick Forge), I play jazz, latin, all the classics, a bit of disco and funk. Saturday nights are more cutting-edge house music. I play music from every category as long as its good: Quality timeless music, with big production.

I work with Luke McCarthy as the Restless Soul production team, which also incorporates producers Modaji, (Laws of Motion Records) Taxi Driver, (Estereo Records), and Roy the Roach, Aaron Ross and Felix Hopkins (also my trusty engineer). He also produces under various aliases including Basic Soul and Electric Soul with Luke McCarthy, Woolph, Phoojun (alongside Nathan Haines), and 12-bit Rephugees with Mark de Clive-Lowe.

Im part of the West London brokenbeat scene which has been receiving serious critical acclaim of late...Im a founding member of the CO-OP club alongside Dego, I.G Culture and Demus. This enables us to represent and promote the West London sound worldwide.

Last year I produced a live-based jazz album for Chillifunk Records with saxophonist Nathan Haines, and Ive recently finished producing my second album, which will appear on the French label Versatile records."

Chus L. Esteban aka DJ Chus started his professional career at the end of the 80's in his home town, amidst the full-blown euphoria of the acid-house movement at 'Alien', one of the first clubs of the famous Kapital Group. In August of '92 he was invited to play at the mythical Portuguese club Kadoc, where he was fortunate enough to share the booth with the best international DJs of the time It was then that his style, influenced by the Portuguese and American underground sounds, definitely converged into house.

When In September '94 Madrid's first house club, Teatro Kapital, was inaugurated, Chus became the clubs first emblematic resident DJ, lasting an extraordinary 10 years. His innate desire to create and improve led him to try his hand at production, with the guidance of the then up and coming David Penn, a logical and well chosen step in his career.

The new Gomma 12" comes from two friends from Milano Italy. Cristian Croce and Nicola Mazzetti are The Barking Dogs since 2006: two djs with different musical backgrounds and solid experiences. They run famous record shop in Milan ìSerendeepity" and are known as party animals: their dj-sets spread the same energy and passion that they put in their musical research. Under their shop in the center of Milan they have a huge collection of vintage sinths and drum machines. They love this raw, dirty sound of the late 80ies. Big city grooves.

They had a few releases: in 2008 ìRe-incantationî, a Balearic trip quickly sold-out in Europe, ìThe guitar manî ìHi-nrgî on Mad On The Moon.Their Rush hour single ìHit the ground/Fare una donna/Alibiî was quoted by 2ManyDjs, Horse Meat Disco, Trevor Jackson and many others. A nice Barking Dogs track was also part of last years ìItalo Now Compilationî on Gomma Records.

Highly recommended! "Unity" is the first single taken from Third Side's forthcoming album "Unified Fields", that will be released on Restoration Records in September 2012. Third Side is the project of The Analogue Cops and Panorama Bar resident Steffi; their collaborations, which have been released exclusively on Restoration, have been of the most interesting jams of the last years.
The original "Unity", a fat overshadowing deep techno track, written and produced only with machines and recorded on tape, comes with 3 massive analogue remixes.

The fledgling Udacha imprint hit the right spot in calling on Rawax alumnus A5 to head up their first release, and the standards are maintained here with Dices at the helm for a four track drop. Those of you with a good memory (and swift fingers) will no doubt recall Dices from the most recent Leleka 12", collaborating with Vakula on that record's standout track "Bug Powder." On the evidence of this full debut EP, Dices has learnt plenty from his time in the studio with Vakula, veering through various moods and expressions of the house form with a similar attention to detail. Equally adept at glistening, crystalline moments imbued with afro feeling such as "Confuse" and shuffling, disjointed rhythms ("Travel Bug") Dices is clearly the latest graduate from the East European school of house music excellence.

the new ep by harmonious thelonious called ting tong ep is ready to be released. it's the second record on asafa. this time it's getting melodious, especially on track one and four. almost a bit like holger czukay's genious song called persian love but without the short waves. the track a.o. seems to play in the jungle (it's a street jungle in whereever) and profaner tanz starts with a noise pad and ends with repetitive guitars.

What is the definition of epic We think it is Of Norway's newest track Libertine. A 12 and a half minute long Nu-Disco monster, mindblowing from beginning to end. Techno as it might have sounded had this genre already existed at Woodstock. For Libertine, Preben Olram - a Norwegian multi musician and voice actor - joined the Of Norways and played live bass and percussions, as well as vocal percussions.

So uplifting it's practically levitational, Idea Of Happiness is Van She's most focused, joyous musical excursion to date. An album stirred by sunbaked travels and fleeting truths, and shaken with the sands of time, Idea Of Happiness was recorded, engineered and produced by the band themselves in Kings Cross, Sydney.
Their self-sufficient approach to the record allowed them the time and space to not only fine tune to the nth degree each cymbal splash and crashing wave sample, but also left them free to give ideas the time and space to hang loose. They may have walked a slow, deliberate path to realising album #2 but the result is all the better for it.
The record was mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer, the perfect man for the job with a resume that includes work with Beck, Air, Phoenix and M83.

London based producer Drumtalk flips the Asiko rhythms of Ghana's Mpese Mpese Band into a futuristic club workout, bridging the gap between Hackney and Accra. On the flip, the Sofrito crew present a killer groove courtesy of the Canadoes Dance Band. Originally released on the Rogers All Stars label in 1982. A minor key drops into bouncing drums, handclaps and a bubbling bassline that builds and builds into a deep and unrelenting groove.

Smashing dub-meets-techno burner from Tokyo. Meditation Stick by Japanese Mystica Tribe is a deep and spacey dubtrack, layered with catchy melodica vibes and warped out effects. SD Records label bosses Syncom Data got their hands on the track and made the Syncom Dub with the African toms at the core of a long and stripped down version. On the b-side is the Syncom Data Remix: a true dub-with-techno dancefloor smasher. The Hague style technobeats flowing with spacey melodicas and tripped out effects. One for dancing and spacing at the same time.

Mr Raoul K and Baobab Secret take the next step and put out new remixes of 'Le Karantkatrieme Peul'. Prisme are a Belgian duo (Nicolas Pepinster and Yves Theys) who started to produce their own material in 2010. They liked the title track so much that they remixed it and sent the result to Mr Raoul K who instantly fell in love with the melodic and laid back approach they took on it
