UK Electro duo Phil Klein (Bass Junkie) & Matt Whitehead featuring The Egyptian Lover!

Formed in the void and born with a passion for all things Electro, from its roots in the 80s to the present day, Model Citizens inspiration spans decades and this is reflected in their musical output. With sinister vocoder vocals, driving basslines, soaring melodies and beats designed to energize the dance floor, Are Friends Electro? encompasses all the elements that Electro Freaks throughout the universe will enjoy.

The album, released on the German Dominance Electricity label, also features West Coast Hip Hop/Electro legend The Egyptian Lover with a remix of his jam Into The Future taken from the album 1984 and as a vocalist on Sphinx-O-Matic.

Debut EP from Milan newcomer Leo, crossing the borders between emotion and hypnosis. Limited to 150 hand-numbered copies, housed in semi-transparent antistatic bags. Vinyl only, no repress.

Rube Goldberg Series returns with a four course set menu, ready for service. Welcoming significant talent to the kitchen, what’s served is not to be sniffed at: fine ingredients, punchy seasoning, delicate spicing and vibrant presentation are all evidence of a team used to working to the most exacting contemporary standards. Each dish is dense with flavour, yet refreshing at the same time, taking the diner on a gastronomic adventure.

Hypress makes a fresh start. New look, new artists, new team,
a new release as a double LP. Lots of rosé wine in a studio
refrigerator and a running gag should do the trick. No crazy
idea. The label's largest work to date serves as a work show
and at the same time sharpening its own portfolio. Various LP
electronic musicians from Leipzig are mingled with renowned
international artists on the LP. The consistent handling of
different genres of contemporary club music is very typical of
the previous label catalog. 12 different tracks in the field of
tension between techno, electro, wave and breakbeat on vinyl
+ 2 additional digital bonus tracks.

Imagine a collab between Cabaret Voltaire and Eric Copeland mixed by The Scientist and you'll start to enter the sphere of Robin Asselman.
All spectrums explored.
The off kilter dub waltz of '16-16' stutters into view with a heavy and heady rolling dread, whilst inaudible vocal snippets and flatlining synth lines echo and enforce a melee of repetition and danger. 'Fitness Talk' perhaps best showcases Assel's interest in Dubwise production techniques, and his ability to soak up a palette of sound and turn it into something truly his own. Soft familiar bass pads provide the backbone here for all out sample mayhem, a space where recognisable dub effects and sonars vibe alongside absolutely unsettling outer samples of jarring vocals and inaudible upset, purposefully mixed to jolt ears into unfamiliar territories.
Being the Nephew of DJ Marcelle, this experimental approach and inspiring concept of pushing samples to the absolute limits of their origin to create a new unexplored path is clearly something that has been fed down from Marcelle to Robin throughout his youth. Assel strives to convey the same elements of anticipation, surprise, and suspense in the listener as he himself experiences during the production process, and it is this successful translation where the power of Assel's music lies. As also is the case with other contemporary acts that push the boundaries of electronic music such as N.M.O & N1L, there is this almost tangible and terrifying physicality to Assel's sound, yet it retains an undeniably subtle workout groove. Perhaps this groove is enabled by the obvious dub and techno influence throughout the EP, both through Assel's utilisation and realisation of the importance of the space in-between and his striking use of samples which seemingly dart out of nowhere, intentionally beaming from the mix to transform ears to that next zone
'Barbecue Stains' and 'Pantoffels' up the pace with layer upon layer of technoid strictness. Grooves come and go throughout, never settling in one spot for too long, but rather opting to explore the dramatic effects of each differing loop cycle and heavily treated vocal sample, again reinforcing this impression of Assel as a producer who never takes the easy path, or follows any kind of musical rule, but rather always looks forward for new angles to approach composition.
'Music always should be surprising and make you alert. You must be on your toes and you should feel that anything could happen, the weirder the better. I love darkness and grit in music, it's great when it doesn't quite fit - that's far more interesting to me then any kind of smoothness.' - Robin Asselman / Assel
'This will not stand' opens and closes in similar fashions through 'Don Leo 2' and 'Don Leo 1', with Assel crystallising the themes of grit, surrealism, absurdism, dub, and experimentalism explored over the EPs 22 minutes into two short sharp bursts.

Joke Lanz travels down memory lane! Two decks a mixer and a dozen of old Sudden Infant vinyls to spin, scratch, manoeuvre, loop and juggle into a narrative new composition. Recorded and mastered by Rashad Becker in Berlin, this album combines Joke Lanz' unique turntablism and intuition for mutant-body-dramas peppered with a great sense of humour from the rhythms of amplified faders and his own breath to spoken interjections of Bryan Lewis Saunders' dream lyrics. You can dance, you can cry, you can smile, you can die!

A long lost gem back in stock again for lovers and collectors of true
skool ELECTRO sounds. About seven years after it's original release
one forgotten box with 30 copies of this limited to 300 hand-stamped
7" pressing suddenly and surprisingly re-appeared from the vaults of
Intrauterin Recordings.
Sascha Müller, one of Germany's most active underground producers with
a large release scale on several digital labels, serves a nice MINIMAL
ELECTRO re-lick of Paul Hardcastle's anti-war anthem "19" plus
"Travelbox", a storming ACID ELECTRO piece for The Hague's underground
Bunker parties. For those who know...

The EP starts off with an intergalactic, retro-futurist broken beat-ish track by legendary drum&bass producer Seba teamed up with O Persson under the East Bound moniker. Daniel Savio follows with a laid-back spacey synth journey, spiced with a 70ies sci-fi flavor, yet with a modern approach. The B-side meanwhile takes off with a dark, yet progressive techno groover by young talent Bonaca, ending with Daniel Araya's analogue-rich bomb, with a body-music type of vibe. Operating under the radar, but ROMB Records have so far been pushing an immensely diverse, yet cohesive soundscape of quality underground electronic music. The thirteenth release is no different, neatly summing up the label's genre-defying philosophy, presenting a four track collage of electronic mastery. That's how you do it!

Danish producer Asmus Odsat debuts on Iceland's FALK DISKS with four leftfield dancefloor cuts entitled 'Ecstatic Half Truth' this September.

Before moving to Iceland, Asmus Odsat was a key figure within Copenhagen's electronic music scene for nearly a decade. A former resident at Culture Box, Odsat was also co-founder of Ritual Malmö as well as the BULK club night, which has hosted artists like Surgeon, Dasha Rush, Lucy and Sleeparchive. Odsat now joins FALK DISKS, the club focused sub-label of FALK Records (Fuck Art Lets Kill) with his 'Ecstatic Half Truth' EP, receiving early support from names like Courtesy who included it in her guest mix on B.Traits' BBC Radio 1 show.

'Deal With It' sets the tone of the package with frenzied synths, warped atmospherics and a crunchy kicks before title track 'Ecstatic Half Truth' delivers a cacophony of percussion alongside twisted melodies and off-kilter breaks.

Up next, fast paced arpeggios meander alongside metallic top lines and a filtered 303 that unfolds throughout, making way for 'Soften The Clocks' which rounds off the package utilising disjointed rhythms, intense acid sequences and thundering low-end throbs.

Cándido is the new artist upcoming at Soil Records.

Beatalicio is the new of the mini album that come up on vinyl at the end of September 2019. Includes 8 tracks influced for many styles from the New vawe, Synthcore, Ebm to the krishnacore from early 90´s.

Erell Ranson (Kalahari Oyster Cult/Childhood Electronix/Where We Met) offers up a delicate and beautiful EP of accomplished texture and melody for his Distant Worlds debut. He shows a real delicate touch here and multiple listens will ensure the melodies and earworms penetrate deep into the psyche. Future soul music dripping in emotion, indebted to Detroit, outta France....

French artist Franck Kartell returns with Alaska, his fourth full length release on UK imprint Bass Agenda Recordings. Critically acclaimed for his masterful blend of low bpm heavy beats and signature deep atmospheres Kartell moves from the fascination with the work of film maker Chris Marker's that powered his last two albums to the drama of Alaska. Like its geographical namesake the album spans ethereal beauty, drama, light and darkness and similarly provides a very individual landscape.

The “Under Frustration” project takes stock of the contemporary Arab electronic scene, and highlights its astonishing diversity, by deconstructing Western clichés that are still fantasizing about a culturally homogenous Arab world.
In a context of post-revolutionary disillusion, this ambitious trilogy sets itself as a manifesto of a new, futuristic, underground wave that aims to uplift the Arab voice, once again. With this new release, Arabstazy allows the listener to walk among Shiite, Shaabi or Stambali lands - revealing new mystical sounds, reserved for trance ceremonies and ancestral rituals; all vivid in the eyes of the collective members, musicians, producers, videographers and photographers, nowadays, scattered between the United States, Tunisia, Germany, France, Sweden, Irak, Lebanon and Poland.
Vol2 includes unreleased tracks of Dj Haram, Praed, Hello Psychaleppo, Okydoki and many more.
Curated by Arabstazy, produced by Shouka, published by InFiné.

This new release by Colin Potter, "The Abominable Slowman", is the logical follow-on from his previous 2015 LP Rank Sonata'. Like that album, there are elements that were recorded many years ago, but this work also contains new music. Again, the emphasis is on rhythm, although the rhythmic components range from conventional drum sounds to strange electronic and/or mutated outbursts, often accompanied by squalling guitars. As to what this sounds like, keywords would be soundtrack, experimental, ambient, electronic psychedelia, contemporary, drone.... There's constant experimentation throughout the album, a search for never-before heard sounds to create obscure atmospheres and a pleasantly disturbing feeling of disquietude.

The LP is housed in a beautiful grey cardboard sleeve, hand-printed by letterpress, and die cut to reveal the printed inner sleeve, which features a number of pictures of The Abominable Slowman during the recording of the album at IC Studio's current London location.

Colin Potter has been a central figure in the UK's DIY and post - industrial underground since the late '70s. His ICR label, founded in 1981, blurred the lines between post - punk experimentation, crude pop, Krautrock - inspired drone work and contemporary electronica, with releases by everyone from DIY legends The Instant Automatons through Chris & Cosey of Throbbing Gristle , experimental composer Trevor Wishart, drone soundists Andrew Chalk and Darren Tate and Bryn Jones's Muslimgauze. He has also been a key collaborator with both Current 93 and Nurse With Wound, working in the studio with both groups since the late '90s as well as serving as a member of Nurse With Wound's current live line - up. From the late '90s to the late '00s Potter's IC Studio, based in a Victorian Water Tower outside Preston, was a lightning rod for musicians working beneath the radar and a focal point for the nascent UK drone scene. Recent years have seen an upsurge in interest in Potter's solo works.'

Melancholic, meandering, mixed-up-in-the-head electro/nix direct from the desk of Design A Wave. Mastered by Someone's Dad Cut at Curved. Artwork by Mel Keane.

The first release of 2017 from Edume and Nicolas Lutz's "multi-disciplinary art platform" (that's a record label, kids) My Own Own Jupiter comes from Spanish analogue freak Do Or Die. It's an expansive, intergalactic debut album featuring nine scorching, tried-and-tested dancefloor treats. Highlights come thick and fast, from the racing deep space bleeps and razor-sharp acid lines of body-jacker "Mr Insane" and psychedelic-minded electro-acid shuffler "Brahmsstrat", to the deep and galactic techno/electro hum of "Osst" and rush-inducing deep house bliss of "Posthuman (Part 1)". Also worth a listen is "Norse", in which Do or Die fuses bleep-era Biosphere with the mechanical funk of vintage Chicago jack.

Following on from Bodyjack's landmark "Nataraja EP" this summer which marked the 10th DEXT release, we welcome back our good friend Lo Shea to the label to continue the next phase in our journey. He comes to us fresh off his recent outings on Rekids and Dusky's 17 Steps, His first DEXT EP 'Durga' is one of the standouts from our early catalog.

We first heard "Activation" when he dropped an early version at our Fabric takeover earlier this year, and it grabbed us immediately. What essentially starts off as a super sharp rhythm track ends up very differently. This is a DEXT track through and through without a doubt!

Liam delves into his drum and bass roots for 'Pressure', marrying rolling broken beats and dark rave synth work but cleverly keeps the tempo right down and really adds to the sense of foreboding.

Olesia Elfa debut release on AHAAD featuring three ambient tracks and one dub techno track. AHAAD, a Wex sub label

Fans of Electro's big hitter DJs such as Helena Hauff, Dave Clarke, UMEK, Maceo Plex, and UMWELT won't have escaped the sonic assaults of Dutch artist RXmode and his fellow Transhumanism collective members; w1b0, Slaves of Sinus, TFHats.

RXmode's last EP 'Cerberus' was very much the EP he'd been building up to since his debut on Bass Agenda Recordings back in 2015; dark, sinister, heavy, and distinctive.

One of the tracks from that EP, 'Degraded', gets the remix treatment from the other Transhumanism members on this, the third vinyl release the collective have put out.

The original track kicks things off in style before the three very individual remixes take things to new territories. TFHats takes the track, remoulds it and adds his own lyrics and vocals to great effect. W1b0 brings what will certainly be looked back on as one of the heaviest tracks of 2018; his 'Violation in G Minor' mix is a brutal sonic assault with a bassline that will surely wake the dead. Last and by no means least Slaves of Sinus brings an abstract acid tinged version; laced with his own brand of sinister vibes and darkness.

Following contributions by DJ Deep and DJ Hell, Tresor Records are proud to present the third instalment in their Kern mix-series, this time headed by Berlin based producer Objekt, his first release following his 2014 debut album Flatland for PAN. In keeping with the series mission of showcasing a more personal approach to mixing Hertz describes his process as such,

Kern Vol. 3 is made up of tracks that I know I will play and love for years to come. Some of these records have been in my bag for years, others are almost as new to me as they are to you. A handful are by lesser known artists whom I admire and who I think deserve wider recognition. Planned, recorded, embellished, reworked, tweaked and chiselled away at over a period of 6 months, the mix was gradually carved out in a way that makes use of new and old techniques alike, presenting itself primarily as a DJ mix but settling in a sweet spot between live recording and studio trickery. The tracklist spans styles, decades and BPMs in an attempt to craft a mix that's unpredictable and compelling in equal measure - one that draws from the more adventurous corners of my club sets, but above all, one that's a pleasure to listen to.

Clocking in at 75min across 36 tracks, Kern Vol. 3 delivers on Objekt's promise, stitching together everything from the playful breakbeats of Beatrice Dillon's "Halfway" to Kirk DiGiorgio's classic techno "Nebula Variation" and the lightspeed IDM of Aleksi Perälä and Ueno Masaaki without missing a beat. A descent through ambient bliss, thundering cello drones and vocal contortions (courtesy of Anna Caragnano, Yair Elazar Glotman and Senyawa's Rully Shabara respectively) give way to the stoned haze of Sensational vs Sotofett and metalwork of Machine Woman and Skarn, rounding up a highly eclectic and adventurous mix which also includes previously unreleased tracks by Bristol's Shanti Celeste, rising Brooklyn producer Via App and accomplished electro technicians Clatterbox and Polzer.

Tram Planet 11

Double pack of trippy jams from the Midwest / Bill Converse's first release outside of the US

The next in ART’s classic Remaster series is another gem from the early Eevolute catalogue. Max404’s (Erwin van Moll) “Recycler” EP was originally released in 1992 during the heyday of European Techno meets Detroit influences.

The legendary Solid Bass DX100 preset sound dominates the opening track showing its Detroit influences from the off. Mamoulian brings the European EBM/synthwave sound to the fore whilst Hangover merges the Chicago/Detroit sounds in a funk bass led feast.

Fractal View was the big hit from the EP. A techno-breaks hybrid perfect for the raves of today and yesterday. The EP ends with the dark, heavy breakbeat Quiddity - a haunting track that ensures ths classic eclectic EP stays in the mind forever.

Never previously reissued in its full vinyl format and only previously available as an in-demand original with prices to match - the remaster meticulously brings the sound up to modern standards.

"Tracey's 'Microdancer' is the follow up to last years critically acclaimed 'Metamorphosis' EP. 2019 saw Tracey release his debut LP on Dial plus spin at Amsterdam's finest club De School for the first time, The 'Microdancer' EP shows Tracey's contemporary take on IDM + Electro, a timeless sound that's helped shape him as an artist."
