Berlin-based producer SDX drops an album entitled 'Nocturnal' on Sophia Saze's Dusk & Haze featuring remixes from TXTRL founders 138 and Shipwrec producer SC-164.



Georgia-born, Brooklyn-based Sophia Saze set up Dusk & Haze to release 'genre-free' experimental music, exhibited in the label's debut release entitled 'Solace' EP featuring four versatile cuts from Sophia herself and twisted electro and techno remixes from Umwelt and Benjamin Damage. The second release comes
from the enigmatic SDX, a masked artist who's fiercely championed left-of-centre dance music for decades. Crunchy drums and a thumping bassline kick things off in 'MS 04' before Los Angeles duo 138 provide an outstanding remix incorporating a cacophony of raw breaks. Modulated flutters, warped blips and white
noise create 'MS 08', leading into the organic drums and off-kilter arpeggios of '007' until New York's SC- 164 reworks '007' delivering a pulsating sub and distorted vocal chops.

Arla III, like the previous two records in the series, is a culmination of our combined influences. A representation of our memories - both real and false, of UK rave culture. These records have been informed as much by fantasy as they are real memories. The result of us piecing together our experiences of growing up and going out to raves in the Welsh countryside.

The Burrell Connection is somewhat a resident with Craigie Knowes; he lived in the same flat in Glasgow with label boss Max when he started the label in 2015, he featured on the first release, he contributed to second fundraiser album, he's also played half of the parties at their Glasgow home, La Cheetah Club, and travelled with the Craigie Knowes DJ team to wow crowds around Europe. But enough of the history, this is now - The Burrell Connection's debut EP with the imprint, Hyper/Orbit. Hyperactive techno and breaks blended together, emotive pads, 808 basslines and that ever-creative and homage-paying sampling ability that The Burrell Connection's noble followers have come to love. Growing up as a teenager in East London, break-dancing and writing graffiti with B12's Mike Golding, Steve Pickton's AKA Stais musical education moved along a familiar
path, from hip-hop to Electro and onto Techno. Schooling himself in music theory and purchasing a sampler Pickton set about making his own music. Releasing on a whose who of seminal UK electronic labels including A.R.T., Likemind, Otherworld and B12 under various pseudonyms Pickton's UK take on lush Detroit
melodies fused techno, funk, hip-hop, dub, blues and jazz into a dense concoction all of his own making. Re-issued for the first time since its initial release in 1993 Circuit Funk Pickton's debut
release on Peacefrog is packed full of lush Detroit melodics and future funk that still sounds unique and fresh today.

Bade Records launch the first vinyl release on the label, with a four-track EP by label co-founders Brothers Black and Tape Fear.

'2x2 Series 1" is a split vinyl, showcasing the individual styles of the duos. Brothers Black kick off the A1 with 'Extrasensory', a shimmering tool with luscious, uplifting pads and a looping lead. Their second contribution on the A2, 'Late Night Call', is a driving euphoric weapon, perfect for the early hours of the morning.

On the other side, Tape Fear showcase their unique sound for the first time. 'Jump System', the lead track, provides a complex blend of old-school breaks, euphoric pads and vocal samples that will be received well in any setting. 'Turn That thing off' offers something different with a fierce 808 groove and unsettling acid lead, perfect for the early hours.

New Zealander Julien Dyne is a multi-instrumentalist with
a long and impressive history of collaborative, live and
solo musicianship. Best known for his solo work as BBE and
having worked with the likes of Theo Parrish, Steve Spacek,
Andreya Triana and Lord Echo - one of Soundway's most
successful artists. Dyne has also accumulated a number of
accolades over the course of a 10-year career including but
not exclusive to being hotly tipped by both Moodymann and
Gilles Peterson.
Dyne's new project for 2018 is an 11-track LP on Miles
Cleret's extolled Soundway label. Demonstrating a shift in
gears and movement toward a more uptempo, Afro inspired
sound 'Teal' melds instrumental flair with astute production
and a persistent grain of impassioned, effortless soul. The
album features fellow New Zealanders Lord Echo and Mara
TK, long term band-mate Ladi6, Fat Freddy's Drop trumpeter
Toby Laing, plus Australian vocalist Tim Guy and jazz
luminaries Jonathan Crayford and John Bell. This is a body
of work for the listener and the dancer alike with a mood as
fitting for headphones as it is for the floor, with the double
vinyl album cut loud at 45 RPM.

Bearing traces from his earlier synth ambient project Sansernes Rus as well as his previous engagement in the danish noise and techno scene, this debut EP operates on the fringes of percussive techno, melodic ambient, and bass music with nods to several other styles including IDM and millenium trance. In other words Safe Following Distance' reflects a very adventurous approach to music making, offering four individually strong tracks out of which each one draws upon inspiration from different genres while contributing to an overall aesthetic perspective.

"Since Efficient Space excavated Andy Rantzen's mind-bending 'Will I Dream', the rest of the world has become better acquainted with the darker & dubbier side of one of Australia's rave superstars. We're excited to present a selection of tracks from Andy's incredibly diverse oeuvre, 6 songs that sit somewhere between 80s digital reggae, 90s rave and the horizon of our accelerating future.

"Lifting the Veil" speeds up snappy drum programming and a thundering bassline to breakneck speeds, pitting them against sombre chords and strings, perfectly capturing the reflective headspace of a night drive through babylon. 'Cosmic Vibrations' harks back to the development of fully computerised rhythms emanating from Jammy and Tubby's Waterhouse studios, by way of Erskineville. In the same vein, 'Bedtime for Boo Boo' sees Andy joined on the boards by Sydney dub technician Sheriff Lindo, creating a dynamic digi-dub number that is sure to come alive on any soundsystem worth its weight - a heady showcase for two of Australia's finest reggae talents.

Flip the disc to find 'Move It', the most concentrated dose of the jungle vibes that permeate the EP. Rantzen channels the headrush sonics, breakneck drums and euphoria of D'n'B's heydey, nailing the red-eyed early AM atmosphere of a Sydney warehouse ca. 95 - and it's just as likely to cap off the night of many a secret inner west location to come. 'Magic Lantern' marries a dreamy synthesizer melody with a wicked, subby bassline. If there was a dancehall scene in 'Ferngully', this would've been the soundtrack, with enough low end to really rattle the treetops. On closer 'Dub Generator', a slightly-creepy mechanized voice urges you to 'leave your worries at the door... come and join your friends upon the floor' - an introduction to the dancefloor or an induction into some sinister cult Whatever the message, the dub chords and massive bassline lull you into the headspace where these words take hold."

Written during the homecoming journey from Amsterdam to Detroit, 'The World is Detroit' marks the second full release from Anonym under his DLS moniker, a gloomy yet driving opus of more than 12 minutes. Remixes on the flip from Klakson co-boss and electro icon Dexter and US-to-Berlin associate Kenneth Scott.

Monotone is back on wax! After almost 10 years since we have seen a Monotone vinyl release, the return is strong. Monotone Boss Larry McCormick comes with a 6 track mini-album with straight up pure Electro goodness. The follow up to his album on Shipwrec entitled Intelectro, Larry McCormick aka Exzakt offers us a more puristic Electro sound that he is known for. Kicked off by "Show The Way" we get that vintage Exzakt sound with crisp 909/808 layed kicks, "One Step Ahead" goes the more melodic route but still keeps the beat moving. "Move Because I Said So" is a fun and funky classic Electro sound. "Creator". Vibes are massive on this riding melodic jam. "Eyes On Me" is a journey, an atmospere with trancy keys and subsonic pads. "Magic City" is a bit of a departure from the normal sound yet still retains the low end.

Moritz Simon Geist, media artist and robotic musician, publishes his first record. It is the world's first techno record played entirely by self-made futuristic robots. This is the 4-track EP to the following full-length album out 16. Nov. 2018. All of the sounds on his records are played by robots: small motors that beat on metal, futuristic 3D-printed robo-kalimbas, salvaged parts from old hard drives that click and cut. It took Geist several years to build, tweak, test and play all his DIY robotic instruments. His 'Sonic Robots' try to push the boundaries of the imaginable. He did so already in 2012 with his well-known oversized 808 robot - an iconic drum machine gotten real, 4 by 2 meter, filled with robotic parts which play the instruments live and in front of the audience. Now, Moritz Simon Geist goes even further to discover the unknown and futuristic world of techno robotics. For this quest he teamed up with the berlinian sound wizards from Mouse On Mars and dug deep in the history of mechanical music and experiments of early electronic music.

On the 4-track EP 'The Material Turn' Moritz Simon Geist turns materials into sounds. The opener 'Entropy' is a bassy club-track, played by futuristic bass-kalimbas, a psychedelic pattern of tonal glasses and pneumatic hi-hat patterns. It is core piece to this EP and is also featured in the main video. Even without a visual part, listening to his music, a sound world opens up which is unheard before: in definition, reference and organic nature. Geist: 'When you listen to robots playing, you realize, that they sound precise, but in contrast to digital sounds they transport an immense organic feeling. No beat is like the other, everything is played with actual acoustic physicality and thus actual error. On the same time, the repetitive nature of the robots make it perfect for playing electronic music. Its industrial and organic at the same time.' The second track 'Under Deconstruction' is a metal-on-metal slammer with a heavy beat played on a big sheets of metal. 'I often try to compose a track around one instrument', explains Geist, 'letting the sounds take a lot of room so they can stand out.' The B-side starts with 'Supercharged' - a heavy drone, reminding of the darked sides of music concrete. Here, tuned air fans, and a metallic percussion robot create the texture. 'Detok' closed the EP with an up-tempo club track, featuring complex rhythmic textures and well defined robotic percussion elements. What Moritz Simon Geist came up with is a stunning record of what is possible today - to explore the sound of mechanics that keep on filling our world. Geist creates a smashing soundtrack for both the precise automation and physical fragility that shapes today's society.

....and we'd sleep out under the stars, didn't even need a blanket...Victor Valiant is a musical pairing of two friends who've been meaning to go in the studio for many moons, but life has always got in the way.Keith Tenniswood and Suade Bergemann give you seven tracks of sublime funk and sonic experiments coming straight from Suade's mega studio deep in the Northeast of England. Recorded last year over two 3 day sessions, it's the next release on Keith's Asking for Trouble label AFT003. Cut and mastered between the two producers they have executed every level of production for this double pack vinyl release.
Asking for Trouble is Keith Tenniswood (Radioactive Man's) recently birthed label and home to the emissions from his studio and treasured time spent with producer friends. Suade Bergemann is a Newcastle-based producer, mastering engineer and founder of Techno label Adapted Vinyl. He collaborates with Steve Legget and is a resident at Free Rotation.

The most exciting techno records are those not afraid to break a few rules, and that's exactly what's on offer on this latest slab from Pittsburgh-based imprint DETOUR. It comes courtesy of SEER, a new Brooklyn-based project from Maroje T and M Parent. Maroje's previous handiwork includes streamlined acid techno on boutique label Chem Club and down 'n dirty electro for Dutch weirdos Pinkman, meanwhile, M Parent's first 12', also on Chem Club, is dubby, driving, and psychedelic. Together as SEER, they've threaded a needle in between their respective styles and sounds, coming up with something altogether different.

Kim Rapatti a.k.a Mono Junk presents the second volume of Finnish Electro All-Star on his DUM Records imprint - active since 1992.
The new release is the latest chapter of Mono Junk collaborating with friends, recently with Mesak and Freestyle Man.
The A-Side of Finnish Electro All-Star (DUM-040) features collaborations with top Finnish electro duo Morphology, who recently released an outstanding album on Firescope label. Electro Por Favor is a pulsating driving electro track with a killer bassline and vocals by Rapatti - Electro at its best. Raw, apocalyptic, solitary remix by Mono Junk follows the original.
The B-Side features collaborations between Mono Junk and a very special guest: Goner a.k.a. Martin Maischen, who is known from many hot releases as the other half of German electro act Sandbenders. They were at most active around the millennium and made releases for Force Inc. Music Works and Science City. The two included tracks are deep electroid techno excursions made last year in Berlin - very cool stuff.

Welsh mystic Wesley Matsell returns to Border Community with an ebullient EP of 90s tinged dance utopianism. File alongside the good-natured old school stylings of Orbital, Lone and The MFA.
Thoroughly road tested in the DJ sets of James Holden, the staccato gasps of rave banger 'Total Order Of Being' exude a melodious, propulsive appeal.
A trio of companion tracks seal the deal: 'Future Beacon' combines sacred, mystical arpeggios and rattling breakbeats; 'Dowlais Wheelie Crew's layers of vibrant synths form a decidedly modern groove; and 'Rite Of Pant' is a rousing exercise in handmade primal proto-house.
This is the final release in a collectable four part series of limited vinyl (500 copies). All four covers fit together to reveal a larger picture by UK designer Jack Featherstone.

London Modular Alliance is the raw and unpredictable music project from the UK's best known, dedicated modular synth shop London Modular. Its members Simon Lynch, Phil Ventre and Gavin Pykerman met through a shared passion in modular synthesisers. Impromptu gatherings and jams soon turned into live performances at clubs, festivals and museums. From the hushed environs of the Tate Modern and V&A to vast sweatboxs such as Fabric, Bloc, Freerotation, Weather and Berghain, London Modular clearly have a flair for all things modular. This year sees a return to Bloc Weekender as well as new adventures at festivals such as Dekmantel.

They create an intense live show with a huge setup of self-assembled modular gear. Every set starts with one small looping beginning - a patch - and is expanded into a deep sonic landscape. With the use of cables they build unexpected circuits and explore the power of pure electronic sounds without the use of a digital software infrastructure. No laptops, no button pushing, everything is created on the spot using modular synthesizers and is based on live improvisations. Overall LMA tries to keep its live sets in the dark: unrecorded, off the internet and only for those who are present in the moment. A clear break with the capture-all mentality of the internet age.

After scrawling his name on releases with close affiliates PRR! PRR! and for the Mannequin and Unknown Precept labels, new Brussels transplant Mazzocchetti finds good company among the
oddballs on Editions Gravats for 'Gag Flag''s blend of avant dance music and absurdist experimental pop.
For 'Gag Flag' Mazzocchetti adopts the persona of 'Snippet Boy', a fictional avatar who first came to life in his live shows, and now in hyperstitious manifestation on the album sleeve. Lurking behind this persona, Mazzocchetti becomes an art-dance-pop puppeteer who yanks listener's strings and takes popshots at industry overproduction, deflating egotism and hackneyed convention in a way that echoes the subversive approach of his heroes such as Devo and The Residents.Using a blend of plugged in and acoustic instruments, Mazzocchetti conjures nine psychedelically
misshapen and inexorably funked-up grooves, splashing from the lysergic swagger of 'Looking For Cheese' to the Arabian electro-acid styles of 'How To Hate You Without H' via the lap-steel dancehall slosh of 'Ron's Roof', demented yacht-boogie in 'Fonk Left The Ytown', and what sounds like Depeche Mode doing knackered EBM on 'Sultan 1997'.
This is the sound of an artist unafraid to pursue their own sound and really coming into their own, albeit channelled thru a deflated, winking rubber avatar.

Danny Clancy's new project assembles four measured and characteristic tracks on the 'Natural Boundary' EP, all wrapped up in Dichotomy's bespoke design aesthetic on the 12' vinyl.

'Three Horsemen Of The Apocalypse' offers a beautiful contrast of dark and light via a heady, acidic techno flavour against ethereal vocals, and 'Broken Pieces' delivers delicate electronica bathed in glorious melody.

The atmosphere remains celestial throughout 'Measure Of Time', with driving toms marching through a blanket of deep, melancholic synths, whilst 'Light Mask' signs off the EP with a rhythmic and percussive workout that teases with its blissful tones.

Like changing the channel, changes in one's life can suddenly bring about a new perspective. After moving from Detroit to Seattle, producer Taylor Hawkins suddenly found himself on Flora FM. Previously recording as Community Corporation, this fresh beginning in Emerald City brought new sounds into Hawkins' repertoire. Where he was once surrounded by cheap boogie and disco records in Detroit, Seattle's used bins were full of UK imports, early 90s ambient techno records and the IDM that followed. These new influences injected judicious breakbeats and top notch electro sensibilities into his already adventurous Midwest techno aesthetic.

It's as if his music has come alive, each song a new sound world abuzz with fluttering synths, nimble percussion, and soaring melodies. Recorded as single live takes using an MPC to control his drum machines and synthesizers, the Flora FM music flowed quickly from Hawkins and needed only gentle edits. The eight tracks on his digital debut album, Discovery in the Atomic Garden, document his experience finding his way in Seattle and in life, all through the lens of a fantastic and somehow futuristic musical viewpoint. We Are So Glad To Welcome Brieuc On His First 12 Inch Release, A Young Artist And Photographer Delivering A Taste Of A Warm Summer Night In His Native Brittany.

Zone Records welcome a real legend in the form of Cardopusher for their next EP, a five track affair that is arresting from the off.

Venezuelan born Cardopusher is now based in Barcelona and co-founded the Classicworks label. His diverse and experimental sound takes him from techno to electro to acid to rave to house, all with his own singular perspective. Always fusing ideas with great skill on labels like Super Rhythm Trax, Zodiac 44 and BNR, he now comes correct for Zone.

Kicking things off is the raw and raucous 'Nothing Left to Believe In.' It is a macho tune with fractured vocals, wild synths and slap funk drums all sounding industrial and tortured. Then comes 'Blast Cut', a more dynamic and stripped back electro groove with a corrugated bassline and metallic synth stabs all sounding informed by the past but looking to a distant future.

The Pulse Projects is the moniker of Albert van Abbe's electro-focused venture. His forthcoming release on Patron Records leans heavily on the gritty and murky sound that we know from the versed producer/DJ, who has been around for quite some time now. 'Soon To Be' is a forceful four-track EP that includes a lot of weighty patterns, compelling soundscapes and some wobbly acid-flecked grooves. But most of all, the EP demonstrates how effective, yet meaningful distorted kicks and breakbeats can be.

This publication from Blind Allies is comprised of 6 tracks. This is the first release from series where records are made on modular synthesizers. It includes a part from live jam by Philet, journey to the world of obscure feeling from Igors Vorobjovs & Void Cells and cosmic adventure by redstripedown. Dancefloor killer by Tunnel, a tale from HHNOI and a flashback to soviet electronic music from Marta SmiLga. This release will take you away to a parallel universe.

Recorded on a modest setup at his almost-off-grid compound in rural Möljeryd, Sweden, Genom Grundent (Through The Shallows) gently bubbles with a sampled stream, baked tape delay, droning broken organ and pitch-shifted rhythm, blooming with vocoder chants and klassic kosmische guitar as the track unfolds. Repetitive to the point of rapture, Genom Grundet reveals it's wonders over subsequent meditations.

Mattias Lagerkvist has previously issued similarly potent musical balms as Ekolali via Bakk and Not Not Fun.

Catch Recordings return with their 13th release, this time from DJ Najaora. He's an emerging talent from the ever growing Techno region in Georgia who's mature, fully formed sound is showcased here across three innovative left-field Techno & electro tracks. The excellent 'Night Dreamers' takes the A1 spot. It's an analogue electro cut throughout. With forceful broken drums accompanied by electric lead lines that provide a powerful energy for the dance floor.'Space Call' is a more cerebral and less dance floor affair that has you day dreaming amongst the meandering pads and classic Detroit electro vibes. A soft acid line runs throughout, while the whole cuts creates nostalgia of old Warp Records.Last of all 'Simulaq' which takes the B-side has wide and vast rubber kicks alongside booming bass. Making this side a merge of Bass and Electro. Trippy stabs and dark energy pervades the whole thing, making it track for the late hours.
While 13 is an unlucky number for some, this certainly doesn't seem to be the case for Catch Recordings.

This is the first time any of Heinrich Mueller's highly sought after remodels/reworks have been compiled together. Many have been previously available only on limited releases and have patiently been awaiting discovery by a wider audience. For those who don't know, since the mid '90s Heinrich Mueller (Drexciya/Dopplereffekt) has been quietly amassing an impressive catalogue of these unique productions (currently about 40+) which completely transforms the other artist's track to his own exacting specifications. To the effect that there might be very little or nothing at all left of the original production. These 9 specially selected examples embrace all facets of his approach. First up is the ultra smooth and minimal 'Fadin' Away' by The Hacker from 2000, probably one of his most sublime and timeless creations. Then jump forward to 2011 when he serves up an infectious and sparse slice of robot funk for Albert van Abbe's 'NCS_0009121010'. By the time of Alek Stark's 'Halo 6' (2014) he's still got the dance-floor on his mind, but it's located on an alien or perhaps underwater world in some dimension parallel to our own. In 2009 he works for the first time with fellow Drexciyan traveller DJ Stingray and delivers the hard edged but still quite delicate 'Drone FX'. Jump to 2005 and he conjures the playfully disjointed 'P.O.M. (Time Dilation Mix 2)' for Duplex. In 2000, when he had a close relationship to the label, International DeeJay Gigolo, who were releasing Dopplereffekt and the first fruits of Der Zyklus, they commissioned him to make a series of groundbreaking mixes. On one of which he got to mesh his own futuristic vision with that of Stanley Kubrick on 'Dave' by Station Rose. The other closes this collection and is another of his most accessible works, with the best bassline, 'What Use' by the legendary '70s San Francisco band, Tuxedomoon. In 2011 he also produced a darkly atmospheric and relentlessly mechanical interpretation of DJ Stingray's 'The Sadist'. In 2003, another of his best production efforts, again aimed off-squarely at yet another form of mutant dance floor, came out of a total revamp of an untitled track by The Advent. Fittingly this was originally included on Recreations, an album where artists were invited to do what Heinrich Mueller does best.

In the latest release from Public System Recordings we are allowed a look further into the syrupy synth dripping slowed beatdown. Kluentah delivers a chalky electro smash with elongated snares and eerie chords passing from one end of the brain to the other, and to the floor. There is smooth vocal play as well as allowing for incoherent out of context speech samples that stab through minimal jumpy drum work. As diabolical and heavy as the hits and bass is, this enters the swath of dance floor records with a distinct flavor that sets itself above others' execution. Full of sludgy breaks, there is a constant reduction even as sounds and samples are introduced, they enter the roving mulch in a stylish slide.

Transmission incoming from Mr. Incognito's secret lab. Rat Life presents eight psycho acoustic models made by the low key East German producer. You probably never heard of him, but he is doing this thing since half an eternity. Rather than playing a lot of shows he focuses on studying the craft of electronic sound manipulation and what else can be said that: he is on top of his game! He shows us that it is still possible to create sonic structures that are beyond the usual by just using classic devices such as the TR 808 rhythm composer and a TB 303 monophonic synthesizer. Next level funk composing at various tempi!

Perhaps CPU's deepest foray into techno, Osaka-based artist Yuri Urano's 'Autline' E.P. draws parallels with the machine-like incremental builds of Sweet Exorcist / Richard H Kirk.

Four years after his excellent Eclipse 12", Roberto Auser is back on a Rotterdam staple: Pinkman. Color Your Soul has adopted some, but not all, of its older brother's attributes. Lumbering with menacing intent, the title piece leaves wreckage in its bruising wake. "Do You Want To Believe" is cut from the same deviant cloth. Grunting rhythms stomp on tortured strings, industrial shrieks cry beneath the boot of a raging beat. The closer, "Wake U Up", has Auser toying with his victim. Steam hisses, acid lines bulge, pistons pound and sirens blare in this boiled work of brooding brutality.

Jude Greenaway joins Analogical Force with 'E.OneSeven EP'. Some might already know ScanOne from past releases on Combat Recordings and Yellow Machines. Intricate breakbeat treatments with crisp electronica melodic edits, twisted future hardcore and London-bred basslines...the sound of ScanOne in 2018. On the b-side the Conner brothers reappear after a long silence as Bitstream, to twist 'Re-Turn' into the darker dystopian side. Fans of solid underground music take note.

The next carefully assembled Delsin re-issue EP is four tracks of slick electro from VC-118A aka Samuel van Dijk, who also released on Delta Funktionen's Radio Matrix and the Clone affiliated Frustrated Funk label. This EP was originally released on AC Records in 2015, strictly limited and only sold by the label itself. All four cuts are electro of the highest order: opener 'Vaxna' is a mid tempo, atmospheric piece that places you in the middle of a desolate futuristic landscape, while 'Sepia' is a more rueful track that encourages your mind to wander amongst its thoughtful pads and sombre chords. It's timeless and tender machine music that's followed up by 25h, which has an astral feel. Beautifully smeared pads and a nimble bassline cast you free deep in the cosmos. The EP closes in style with 'Versicolor', an emotive electro jam with clever arrangements and immerse sounds.

Charlois welcomes back label inaugurator Dollkraut, this time in company with De Ambassade. The label grants permission for them to share this 10" and create their own world, so they can coexist and share stories about lost love, condolence and isolation. On the A side they come together in a dark room anthem about sex, lust and worship. It oozes with cold, heart-stabbing melancholia, yet carries the artists idiosyncratic warm and crunchy sound. The flip side scratches open the wounds left by the first song and sees Dollkraut drop his soft touch. What follows is a hypnotic voodoo track, summoning dark spirits with unsettling synths, shamanic vocals and tribal jewish harp.

For the third release on Intergraded, we welcome Tracey to the label. Having cut his teeth as a DJ and producer in Amsterdam over the last 15 years his sound has developed into something both classic and futuristic. Across the 'Outcome' EP he follows on from his two excellent EP's on 'Voyage Direct', with four tracks that traverse from electro, sci fi soundscapes and trippy club rhythms that fit perfectly into the sound of the label.

Iceland's Volruptus returns to Bjarki's bbbbbb with five esoteric cuts titled 'Alien Agenda'.

Releasing on bbbbbb at the end of last year, Volruptus has emerged swiftly on the European party scene, with the Icelandic artist popping up on line-ups all over the continent. Following releases by Norway's EOD and fellow Icelandic talent, Lord Pusswhip, 'Alien Agenda' is bbbbbb's third record of the year - continuing Bjarki's progressive tastes for innovative electronic Scandinavian artists.

First up, 'svi´nasti´a 3000' deploys a synthetic, fast-pitched techno revolver fused with space- induced, twisted modulations. A scratch tool titled 'Itchy and Scratchy Show' follows before launching into 'Su´rmatur' - a celestial 303 synth line layered over scattered electro drums, together providing a magical transcendental experience.

'Alien Agenda' is suitably an eccentric, IDM tinged number with shades of acid and powerful bass shrills becoming the focus here. Last up, 'Misanthropgy (Dark Sto¨ff)' provides an energetic rolling percussive loop, intensifying naturally through cryptic, high-pitched melodies.

Katerina has already contributed to the ever growing, always radical and forward thinking catalogue of the Co´meme music collective, with tracks on the compilations 'Solidarity Forever' Vol. 1 and 3. She also hosts a show on radio Co´meme called Radio Emotsiya, in which she generously shares her broad musical knowledge and her very particular musical obsessions, for instance her steady - and in our opinion very understandable - veneration of DJ Quik.

Le Matin, always rare and uncategorised, following the reissue of his early synthwavepop tunes on « poussière d'époque » and a track on the good Lena Wilikens' Dekmantel Selectors 005 comp, this new EP on Lost Dogs Ent. let you hear some of his last works. Expect an ultra-cold-minimal-electro riddim, a less-mental-nearly-good-for-the-dancefloor tune with depitched haunted r&b vocals, an analog and bassy arpeggio ride ... On the flip side, Oh My God ! This is the peak-time-for-weirdo-nearly-techno tune, a blast, only for craziest DJs that like broken-frustrated-uncomfortable dandefloors and to finish this well balanced 5 trackers : the « are you depressed that much It's the 10th time you're listening to this OST of a dying world, this won't get any better but at least this is good music ! » tune. Le Matin is a good kept secret that prefer to take care of his kids than to travel the world of nightclubbing with drunk teens (ok that's how it is in France, that looks better in some other countries), but sometime you can hear his music on decks of some wise people and DJs like Call Super, Lena Wilikens, House of Traps, Charles Drakeford, Jon K, Bergsonist, Body Motion...

Texas-based electronic music producer Phillip Washington aka Cygnus was on bit of a hiatus since his phenomenal "Cosmos" long play on Fundamental Records, released near the end of 2016. With this EP, titled "ne0 ge0", he's breaking the silence and we're extremely happy to see it happening through Barba imprint. The record consists of 4 cuts; "Zone Shifting", "Vertexing", "ne0-ge0" and "Astronoot" which all share common qualities of his previous work - deep, spacey, richly textured and really well crafted. "Zone Shifting" is what electro in 2018 should sound like. Deep, emotional and futuristic but well grounded in the human condition through the vocal line which seems to haunt from the distance. "Vertexing" is a slightly more paced, moodier affair with slow enveloping Vangelis-esque synth lines bleeding all over traditional electro sounding beat. However, in this case that's exactly what's needed. Title track, "ne0-ge0" is the first one on the flip side and the busiest one. Creasing of multiple synth lines and pads is done in such an expertly elegant manner that you just can't resist but play it loud on a big soundsystem and see what it does to the dancefloor. And finally, record closes with "Astronoot", and as B2 tracks usually are - it's the deepest of them all, reserved for those heady moments when you need something to bring the magic to the next level.

After 3,5 albums with Aerial in Sandviken it was time to go our semi separate ways. Two changed teams to YAST, one went solo with Simian Ghost. The rest (me and Joakim Westlund) joined a band in Gävle that would later become No Coda, now called The Entire Cast. During all my years as an active musician in different constellations I have also worked continuously with my own material. A kind of unrestricted flow of creativity that has given birth to a lot of different expressions. So listening to this album is a journey through many phases in my life.
It is a special feeling to release this record on Lamour Records. Its founder Viktor Zeidner has time and time again invited me to play on his experimental concert arrangements through the years. And as a solo artist I have always focused on trying things out rather than writing songs. On my album cover is a framed poster of my father's band he had in the sixties called Jahn Claesons. This album is dedicated entirely to him. He was my biggest supporter, and is still my biggest inspiration.

Italy's heavy dub producer Eraldo Bernocchi is not a new face to the scene. Starting out his career in the 90s, Bernocchi produced under many aliases. ... But it is the works under his real name that deserve the most attention. In 1999 he released Charged recording with Tashinori Kondo and Bill Laswell. In 2005 he appeared alongside Harold Budd in Music For 'Fragments From The Inside' on Sub Rosa. And in 2007 he recorded Manual together with Thomas Fehlmann for 21st Records. There are also numerous EPs with Bill Laswell under Apollo's Re-charged series....

Blackfilm, who continues to remain anonymous, is a Hungarian artist that was first introduced to us through his self-titled debut on the now defunct Spectraliquid Records. Since then, the album has been picked up by Denovali Records and repressed in 2010 on compact disc and vinyl. His dark atmospheric soundscapes and a bricolage of modern classical samples and instrumental hip-hop beats reminded me of my favorite works by Amon Tobin and Future Sound of London, for a brooding soundtrack enveloping your mind with heavy fog of penetrating sound. Since the release, Blackfilm has relocated to London where he has embedded himself with the heavyweights of dub and even darker journeys in the underground ..." Headphone Commute

Since 2016 we've been blessed with Mike Cooper in our catalog. The first installment was 'New Kiribati', revisiting a self-released 1999 CDR in which Mike Cooper was experimenting with a lap steel, electronics, prepared guitar and live recordings, creating what he called 'Ambient Exotica Soundscapes'. In the following year, 'Reluctant Swimmer' showed an enigmatic, exotic and elegant adventure into Mike's 1920s National tri-plate lap steel guitar and his Vietnamese electric lap steel. Two pieces, two sides, each ending with beautiful interpretations of some Mike's favourite songs, 'Movies Is Magic' by Van Dyke Parks and Fred Neil's 'Dolphins'.

2018 and it's time for some new discoveries into Mike Cooper's limitless exploration in his collection of guitars. The title itself, 'Tropical Gothic' references Cooper's beloved areas of 'the South' with a Gothic, dark, remote interplay... ''Tropical Gothic includes, but is by no means limited to, a reflection on a region where European colonial powers fought intensively against indigenous populations and against each other for control of land and resources.''

In each side Mike Cooper studies different approaches to his method of uniting guitar and field recordings into a constant stream of sound, where he delivers chaos and melody - not necessarily in that order. Side A is composed of shorter pieces. Each of them offers a myriad of images and sensations, between the enigmatic and terror ('The Pit'), joy, happiness and freedom ('Running Naked') or pure contemplation ('Onibaba').

'Onibaba' runs as a fitting introduction to Side B and its 18th minute magical piece 'Lelong & Gods Of Bali'. A mix of ambient exotica music, silent film soundtrack and distorted rhythms that dance around Mike's guitar. It keeps reinventing and transforming itself throughout those eighteen minutes, summing up the dexterity and muscle of Mike Cooper's music of the last two decades.

Giallo soundtracks, drag queens, psychotropic cacti, back patches, Hi-NRG, sunglasses at night, tape echo, jack o' lanterns, rave rain: these are just a few of your favorite things that you might find in SQUIRRELS ON FILM, the new record label from San Francisco veterans Solar and Brian Hock, aka C.L.A.W.S. What you'll hear isn't quite techno, house, disco, or dub, but a syrupy melange of all of the above — and then some. It's dance music for those who don't fit in — and for DJs who regard genre as a suggestion, not a rule.

For more than twenty years, Solar has been a mainstay of the San Francisco Bay Area's rave scene, hosting world-class DJs in parks, on boats, and amongst redwood trees as part of Sunset Sound System; these days, he can be found DJing all over the globe. Squirrels On Film 01 features his debut solo productions, including "Five Seconds," long a mainstay in his DJ sets. Full of rollicking hi-hats, thick basslines, and ghastly chimes, it sounds like a lost gem from 1988 — but it's unmistakably contemporary, primed to ignite dancefloors worldwide. Afterwards, "Depth Charge" goes all-in on the hazy afterhours vibe as dubbed-out drums drift to and fro beneath a darkly melodic wash of synthesizers.

On the flipside comes C.L.A.W.S., a longtime San Franciscan who moonlights as the drummer for synthy post-punk trio BRONZE. He and the mysterious Duchess of Siberia present "Sugar Bridge," electronic body music for the next generation — no gimmicks, no bullshit, just an arpeggio that seems to unwind into infinity. Afterwards, follow him on "Black Magik Carpet Ride II," a mid-tempo vision of interstellar tropicalia, just the right kind of tune for lounging by the beach — if beaches existed on Mars.

Established by Diagonal Records co-founder, Jaime Williams, Life's Good is a necessary, occasional new portal for reissues of golden era Detroit and European techno.

The label's first project pays special attention to an overlooked classic and an unheard diamond by Juan Atkins: namely his M500 gem Dimensions, which originally appeared on the seminal Buzz compilation, Panic In Detroit; and a previously unreleased version of the Tresor bomb, Flash Flood, produced under Juan's Infinti moniker. Both tracks have been 'salvaged' by Russell Haswell and newly remastered by Rashad Becker, bringing them firmly up to scratch for DJs and rendering the material how the artist originally intended it to be received.

A stellar highlight of the lush Panic In Detroit compilation and a huge personal favourite of Life's Good, M500's pendulous, percolated and uncannily UK-styled bleeper Dimensions was unfortunately crammed along with three other tracks on the LP's A-side, which made the track tricky or unsuitable for DJing in clubs. With Juan's blessing and access to the original master tapes, Life's Good Records have rectified the problem, re-cutting the tune to its own side of vinyl and, in the process, lending a new lease of life to one of Juan Atkins' subtlest, slinkiest and entrancing early '90s workouts.

On the B-side, Life's Good have coaxed out an abridged, alternate version of the all-time classic Flash Flood, which should be well known and adored by any self-respecting Detroit fiend. However, in this version the intro is entirely different, replacing the trancey lead with an acidic synth voice and swapping out the percolated bass for rugged subbass surges to much darker, paranoid effect that better lives up to the track's impending title. With the original now over 20 years old and very familiar to the 'heads', the alternate version presents a truly revelatory twist on an evergreen techno anthem.

The spanish techno imprint celebrates the release of their first long lenght with this compilation featuring tracks by some of the most prominent underground techno artists among some new talents including works from: Christian Wünsch, Datura Dilema, Developer, Dinamite, Kalter Ende, Stanislav Tolkachev, Unkle Fonand Vertical Spectrum.The sound palette focuses on danceable numbers, but also include some broken beats and industrial touches showcasing the diversity of their catalogue.

One of our most mysterious and intriguing states of consciousness is the dream. We're very happy to welcome Dutch-born German-raised Roger van Lunteren on SoHaSo for the first time. His Rosa Dos Ventos Ep is a four-track story that oozes retro vibes and nostalgia for a past that never seems to have existed. Utilizing raw 80's analog synths and humanoid acid lines he sets atmospheres that remind of Lynchian dreamscapes.

Vanish starts out with an emotional chord sequence, as you enter the fluid world of the subconscious. A gnarly bassline welcomes your arrival and lets you know things here aren't exactly what they seem. Journeying on through seemingly dark areas, it ends with a hopeful melody and the bass softens as you start feeling weightless. Uncontacted uses choral pads and two intertwining 303 sequences as a way of communicating between the different dimensions.

Aroy Dee remixing Vanish is like taking a psychotropic liquid, adding more drive to the original while retaining the emotive synth patterns. Sleepless is Roger's hardest cut on the record, again providing directly plugged in 303 goodness and stomping beats. It rounds off a balanced ep with plenty of introspective dance material.

Mirror Box is the solo analog synth project of Dallas musician Sean Kirkpatrick. With an extensive resume that includes keyboard duties for Kill Rock Stars' 00s noise rock band The Paper Chase as well as his concurrent projects, dark post-punk-synth-rockers Nervous Curtains and darkwave duo Little Beards, Mirror Box is Kirkpatrick's first foray into the purely electronic realm. Blending together elements of Giallo moodiness, dub texture, techno propulsion, a passing nod to your favorite wave music, and a flare for the kosmiche, Mirror Box' debut release, Minimal Compliance EP, is a tour de force of the veteran musician's exploration of a wide range of influences and experience.

Released by Dallas-based Gavin Guthrie (TX Connect)'s TRU (Texas Recordings Underground), the 5-track EP kicks off with the immediately-gripping title track. A huge mid-tempo 808 beat drives the menacing Moog bass while cosmic synths explore the skies over gritty, urban terrain. 'The Body,' grounded by its stuttering and singular bass line, is an expansive reworking of a track from Little Beards' debut album which features Nan Kirkpatrick on the release's only vocal appearance. Side A closes with 'Destabilized Agent,' a retro-futurist dream that effortlessly voyages from Sagan's Cosmos to a melodic minimal wave refrain.

While the first side's lush synthesizers and sophisticated syncopation are somewhat of a departure for TRU, a label that has so far defined itself by bringing the electronic sounds of Texas' underground warehouse scene to dance floors across the sea, the flip side of the record is where the four hits the floor. 'Grifter React' opens with a hard kick and electro zaps, letting the rhythm take the lead until a distorted bass finally enters to provide the hook. Minimal Compliance EP finale, 'Critical Blitz,' weaves together all of Mirror Box' finer elements into a concise mission statement. After the solid releases on Frustrated Funk and Where We Met it seems the Liverpool wonder AKA Simon Keat has impressed almost everyone with his unique take on classic house and techno compositions in a wide range; from the moody and groovy beats by Detroit legends Carl Craig and Derrick May, while staying close to Drexciya, ITDWIP and Jeremiah R in term of texture and arrangement all mixed with a sound design and ambience found in early Autechre and LTJ Bukem - just to top it up with a tiny little bit of that 90s club minded UK sound delivered by Leftfield, Orbital and LFO. Beautiful synth pads, punchy, crunchy and groovy electro beats arranged around a good ol' fashioned analogue synth bass with a characteristic bending synth lead sound on top is really hard not to love and pretty much sums up what Reedale Rises electrofunk journeys are all about. Last years (2017) edition of Convenanza festival featured Swedish band Fontan, who have released material on Hoga Nord Rekords, and that set the ground for a collaboration between the record label and one of the most interesting festivals around. The joint forces has resulted in the compilation album 'Convenanza 2018' containing this years (2018) acts.
The contributors are: electro oozing duo Woodleigh Research Facility, consisting of Andrew Weatherall and Nina Walsh, etno-minimalists Komodo Kollektif from Glasgow with, among others, Gordon Mackinnon who's running the top quality label Invisible Inc. The more rock oriented side of 'Convenanza 2018' contains Berlin based Die Wilde Jagd, whose sound can be defined as some sort of post punk where strong chorus drenched basslines float upon a smooth electronic soundscape with both live drums and drum machines as the back bone to the beat. Wild Woman & The Savages could best be described as the result of an orgy between PIL and The Birthday Party! The Liminanas, with special guest Anton Newcombe, contribute to the collection a garage psych rock track suited for long hot drives through the dessert.
Weatherall's unfailing 'fingerspitzengefuhle' in picking artists for the festival gets repeated yet again and if you for some unexplainable reason fail to make it to Carcassonne this year, the magic from the old castle still can reach your senses with the help from this compilation!

The Geometry of Shadows kicks off with a flurry of pinging kick drums, rushing synths and smeared chords that manage to be physical yet serene at the same time. Chrysalis is deep Detroit style house with gurgling basslines and warm future soul synths extending off into the cosmos. Ship of Tears then races through the galaxies as asteroids, shooting sci-fi synths and glassy melodies all fly by in enchanting fashion, Acid is buried deep within and the drum programming is busy and direct. The Parliament of Dreams closes things down with more haunting celestial pads and cold acid lines that are all backed by boom-bap breakbeats.
