An Iceberg is a large mass of ice detached from a glacier or from a floating platform of glaciers that drifst in the sea. It is in constant motion and most of its mass remains submerged under surface of the water. The goal of this new Iceberg series of releases on Glacial Movements is to describe through techno / dub music this huge mass of ice."Himuro" is the debut album of ambient duo Eraldo Bernocchi/Netherworld. Composed and produced in two years of exchanging material and sound inputs coming both from electronic treated guitars and organic sources. The album lies its foundation on ambient, dub, space and distance."Himuro" was an "ice cellar", a "'cold room" during the Edo period in Japan. The Kanazawa castle had one and after, during the Meiji period, these rooms were part of palaces. Often used for storing snow and keeping it during summer they had medical, food or ceremonial importance. During summer snow or ice kept in the himuro were sometimes sent from one castle to the other travelling as far as 500 km, relocating the "coldness".For months Netherworld supplied Bernocchi with a vast array of soundscapes and textures, an endless stream of feelings and emotions that the latter used to create the foundations of the album tracks on which constructed guitar scapes (often not recognisable), bass lines, harmonies and grooves. After month of collecting and creating sound inputs, Bernocchi started to carefully assemble what we now can listen on Himuro. A velvety sound creation constantly balancing between a rhythm approach and pure drifting scapes. Perhaps the best description of this works lays in the words of philosopher Emil Cioran from his 1936 The Book Of Delusions:
"To detach yourself elegantly from the world, to give contour and grace to sadness, a solitude in style, a walk that gives cadence to memories, stepping towards the intangible, with the breath in the trembling margins of things, the past reborn in the overflow of fragrances, the smell, through which we conquer time, the contour of the invisible things, the forms of the immaterial, to deepen yourself in the intangible, to touch the world airborne by smell, aerial dialogue and gliding dissolution, to bathe in your own reflecting fragmentation..."Eraldo Bernocchi is an Italian composer, arranger, producer and guitarist with a solid reputation as an all round sonic sculptor. Starting his career in the late 70's as a guitarist in independent punk bands, in the mid'80's Eraldo co-founded the conceptual audio project Sigillum-S, which grew into a highly acclaimed international cult act.In the 90's, together with his wife Petulia Mattioli, Eraldo established Verba Corrige Productions, which became the base for a raft of notable audio visual projects and co-operations. A relentless sound explorer, Eraldo Bernocchi has collaborated with numerous artists including Mick Harris (SIMM, Black Engine), Bill Laswell (Somma, Charged, Ashes and numerous others), Nils Petter Molvaer, Harold Budd , Russell Mills, Toshinori Kondo (Charged), Raiz, Almamegretta, Spectre, Sensational, DJ Disk, Professor Shebab, Thomas Fehlmann, Zu (as Black Engine), DJ Olive, Markus Stockhausen, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti (as producer and author), Robin Guthrie, Colin Edwin and Balazs Pandi among many others. " Himuro " is Bernocchi's 100th album.In addition to regular work scoring music for adverts and other multimedia projects, Eraldo has composed film music for Academy Award winner Gabriele Salvatores and produced numerous art installations with Petulia Mattioli, as well as other artists including Russell Mills and Harold Budd.Uniquely, Eraldo is also known for being invited to play and organize several special events for H.H. The Dalai Lama in Italy and be the founder of the record labels RareNoise Records with music addict Giacomo Bruzzo and Transmutation Ltd, his new media company. Netherworld is the moniker of Alessandro Tedeschi, the creator and owner of Glacial Movements Records in Italy. Over the last few years, the label has received much appreciation and critical acclaim from both the national and international music press. Coming originally from Rome, Netherworld published several works on various labels such as Fario, Angle Rec, Umbra, The Wire Tapper. He then decided to focus on his visions for his own record label - Glacial Movements with releases like "Morketid" (2007), "Over the Summit" (2011), " Alchemy of Ice" (2013), "Zastrugi" (2015). These were again critically acclaimed gems of ambient music. Netherworld performed at electronic music festivals such as Störung, Up to Date, Flussi and many more. " It's a beautiful and hallowed sound that Tedeschi generates, shifting from the grim black of the Isolationist to a chroma of snowblind blues, pinks and whites" THE WIRE

Grebenstein is a producer, DJ and visual artist living in Kassel, Germany. After playing in several bands as a drummer and guitarist he made his solo-debut with a 4-track EP on the Regis helmed label - Downwards Records in November 2014.

The 'Gloss' 4 track EP for Horo comes after his Downwards Records follow up 'Strong, Proud, Stupid, & Superior' with Seefried was released in October 2016.

Title track 'Gloss' centres on percussive crescendos and pensive guitar layers, while 'Self' and it's 'Version' stretch this effect out into a grinding, slow motion introspection. 'Loss' closes the EP with serrated drum machine blasts punctuating feedback contortions. The tension throughout the EP is palpable, with the shaping of the tension providing the substance of his signature style.

Social Experiment Records teams up with one of Toronto's true old school techno legends, Greg Gow for the artist's stunning debut LP, 'Lost Days'... Greg Gow has been a respected ambassador of Toronto's electronic music scene for nearly threedecades, championing his long running Restructured label since 2001, DJ'ing in the cities keyclubs since the 90s and bringing the fruits of his relationship with neighbouring Detroit back to his hometown. It is his connection to the Motor City that has brought him attention over recent years,spurred on in large part by his signing to Derrick May's legendary Transmat imprint in 2009 with the techno anthem 'The Bridge'. This was to play a pivotal role in the regeneration of Transmat at the time and lead to further releases for Gow on the imprint, a record on Kevin Saunderson's KMS label and appearances at the Movement festival. Gow's sound speaks of this close affinity between these two great cities with a smoky, gritty dub inflection that permeates every bar of this his stunning debut album. He has long been a local legend in Toronto's scene but now there is a real sense that this LP is set to propel this unsung hero on to techno's global stage. The 'Lost Days' LP kicks off with 'Inception', a late night ambient soundtrack that conjures up a sleeping urban metropolis, before 'Fly Tipping' slides into a soul infused Detroit groove that is slow and sensuous, spaced out and smooth. Cleverly upping the ante, 'Curl De Sac' takes a dubby, deep rolling house direction with well crafted synths extending in all directions before 'Refractions' re-sets the mood with brooding and beatless chords, found sound details and gentle breaking waves. The latter half of this most coherent journey starts with a classic dub techno cut in 'Lost Days', rippled with electric static and underpinned by firm rubber kicks, before 'Still Life' shows off Gow's mastery of his synths: they ripple into the distance and bring a sense of serenity as they build to a peak then dissipate once more. It's a faultless demonstration of tension and energy as 'Too Late' gets more forceful and driven but no less deep and cerebral with its hypnotic stabs and subtle rhythms. Closing opus 'Beyond Time' is a blissful final interlude that sounds like a spaceship drifting through the cosmos as the captain mutters into his PA. That final track rounds out a truly outstanding collection of electronic music that is imbued with warm techno soul and makes sense both on intimate dancefloors as well as up close in headphones. The album itself was mixed down at Toronto's go-to facility, Treatment Centre Studios, and it's clear that every sonic detail has been treated with the respect it deserves. Greg Cow's debut album has been a long time coming but it has certainly been worth the wait. It is a testament to his true talents as a producer and is another milestone marker for the ever impressive Social Experiment Records.

This album has its origins 17 yeas ago in early 2000, before Chain Reaction released the legendary Ship-Scope 12'. Three of the tracks here are taken from an acetate cut at Dubplates & Mastering at that time but which wouldn't see the light of day until now, including another batch of tracks taken from original masters. Only 5 copies of that acetate were ever made so this is the first time any of these tracks are available for public consumption and, for our money, rank among the finest and
most distinctive in either the Chain Reaction or Shinichi Atobe's vaults.

The material is effectively some of the Japanese producer's earliest work, showcasing the sort of tender, feminine pressure that would bubble up on the Ship-Scope EP and later be revealed in his new productions, Butterfly Effect and World yet, for many reasons, they would lay sunk in his archive for the next 17 years.
The tracks taken from that acetate are labelled First Plate 1-3 and really are quite remarkable, having taken on so much character and added weight over the years that the incidental crackle
of surface noise imbues proceedings with an added dimension that's hard to fathom. It basically sounds like a lost transmission making its way from Paul-Lincke-Ufer at the turn of the millennium
to a new, completely changed world all these years later.
The patina of crackle lends a mist-on-bare skin feeling akin to summer garden parties at Berghain in the stepping First Plate 1, and gives a foggier sort of depth perception to the hydraulic,
Maurizian heft of First Plate 2, but it's the submerged euphoria of First Plate 3 that hits the hardest; a heady, bittersweet reminder of days gone by.The other four tracks are crisply transferred from master tapes, relinquishing a sublime, impossible to categorise House variant that recalls everything from DJ Sprinkles to Ron Trent, yet with that weird, timeless production tick that by now has become something of a signature for this most distinctive and hard to categorise producer.

The danish label Echocord Records was formed 15 years ago this year by Kenneth Christiansen. It will now be celebrated with a compilation plus a big tour around it. We are super happy and proud that we can still continue releasing quality electronic music.
The compilation contains 10 tracks from 10 artists that all have been releasing on Echocord and Echocord Colour before from veterans Mikkel Metal, Deadbeat, Fluxion to newer signed artist Arovane.

Peverelist does Peverelist on his 3rd album of Bristolian bass techno prisms, Tessellations; his first for the Livity Sound label, forming a typically stripped, acute treatise on the flux of dub, techno, D&B and ambient electronics that make up his soundsystem DNA.

Rooted in the '90s but curved and toned for 2017, Pev's sound is economically functional but not without a crucial sliver of emotive, sensual/textural pressure that bleeds thru in each cut. It's hardly hands-in-the-air material, yet his slow-burning vibes are arguably more satisfying and subtly impressive in the immediacy of the dance and for the long run.

Across a neatly plotted 48 minutes he systematically investigates and consolidates all stripes of the Peverelist sound in a way that builds on the experiments of 12000 Seconds [2014] whilst reprising and refining the heft of Jarvik Mindstate [2009].

The roiling modular tones of opener Burning Seas offers a rare, beat-less iteration of his sound before the session properly gets under way, vacillating the pressure between Under Clearing Skies dense electro-bass pulses and strobing dub chords, and the wide open lushness of Still Early, then twisting into the latinate shimmy of Sheer Chance Matters and the spiralling trills of Wireframes, which sounds almost like Plastikman meets Unique 3.

Further Inland brings a lot of originality and feeling with a misty-eyed mesh of airy Detroit/Berlin arpeggios and serpentine house swang, cooling down into the tribalism patterns of Brinks and Limits and closing on another rare, beat-less vision, Plateau from which to survey his rolling topography and then dive back in again.

Juan Rico, a.k.a. Reeko and a handful of other aliases, is a consistent and reliable ambassador of a Spanish techno scene that has brought us everything from Oscar Mulero to Tadeo. In his Architectural guise (which is also the name of his personal releasing imprint), Rico has developed a penchant for perfectly interlocking sonic elements and for a structural sensibility that delivers on the promises of advanced engineering implied by his artist's pseudonym. The first result of his new alliance with the Wolfskuil label is a full LP that dispenses with the formalities of 'introducing' listeners to the artist, and simply dives straight in to depths of his active mind.

So just what type of 'architecture' is in store for listeners on this album One immediately gets the impression of something massive and towering, yet open to the elements and with a fascinating view of the surrounding landscape for miles around. This feel comes through especially clear on the opening "Aura", the poignant and chorally inflected "Il Mare," and the closing "Sentir" (in which a voice repeatedly intones "I'm looking down" to emphasize the feeling of being a visitor to a world of imagined architecture). In Rico's imaginary structures you can feel both the wind on your face and the steady, unfaltering pulse of the power grid. This is the case for the remarkably colorful "Lacrimosa," which is powered by a 'vintage futuristic' solo synth singing over a backing chorus of chopped and chattering electric current. It also holds true for "Delicatezza," in which a huge, yawning orchestral swell repeatedly crashes down like ocean waves upon the supporting structure of Rico's techno towers.

These moments of cinematic and climactic beauty would, on their own, be enough material for an outstanding record, but there is still more: tracks like "Sapphire" evince a more straightforward hypnotic techno approach (only relatively speaking, though: in Rico's hands a "straightforward" track is still one that uses atmospheric subtleties, organic effects and a balanced EQ mix to maintain a healthy distance from more conformist exercises.) When Rico truly gives himself room to stretch out - as on the epic "Amour" - he also shows how easily he can turn the challenge of a lengthy track into an opportunity for more innovation and further elaboration of his key concepts. This track acts very much as the centerpiece of the LP, morphing from a scintillating piece of celestial ambience to a busy groove train loaded with a cargo of unexpected percussive and melodic fills.

For listeners who value both lush musical dreamscapes and hard excursions into concrete reality, the new Architectural LP will be the perfect antidote to the conventional album, and a welcome companion for their own journeys into new dreams and realities.

Often making music with a visual connection, this EP is full of versatile 909 beats and fizzing electronic textures. 'Relative Solace' is up first and is a frosty house trip with bell textures and melancholic strings sounding all celestial and heavenly. 'Wander' is all about a sludgy 909 groove being lit up with bright strings and icy hi hat ringlets as dissonant pads stretch and skew all about the arrangement then 'Fortitude Boogie' has classic Detroit pads, a lovely broken rhythm and a funkateer bassline that makes the whole cut dance and emotional dance. The Berlin based electronic label Eintakt' was established by Markus Lang aka Dj Plastique in 2001. In the beginning his own productions together with Telly Quin where in the foreground. In the course of upcoming releases Plastique invited more and more musicians from the steady growing friendship and surrounding of Eintakt records to release on the label.
The philosophy of the Eintakt label is to keep the electronic underground alive while being open-minded for further development. During the last 15 years many national and international artists joined the Eintakt mosaic and generated a label that evolved to a multicultural musical concept.
The labels independent and varied distribution structures made it possible to found new projects and concentrate on experimental sounds and grooves.

Over the course of the past five years, Amsterdam based label Indigo Aera has evolved in to one of the most trustworthy and respected contemporary Detroit techno labels around.

Apart from new music that's mostly analog based and highly energetic, head honchos Maarten Mittendorff en Jasper Wolff decent to the vaults of early day, soul-searching techno regularly, digging up forgotten gems to re-issue them with modern quality standards. Esteemed artists like Stephen Brown, Skudge, Steve Rachmad, Antigone, Louis Haiman and Kirk DeGiorgio all contributed to Indigo Aera, and there's more to come.

The Lost Archives Special consists of unreleased tracks from absolute legends, to music that has never been released in a physical form before, to fresh compositions of techno's most talented contemporary artists.

This year irrepressible Italian born electronic producer Roberto Bosco returns with a new EP via his own imprint Last Drop Records, recently founded alongside with his partner in crime Kiny. This EP, that features four tracks, begins in media res with Sonorous Waves Part 1. An ambient intro track that creates the conditions for a mystic and celestial environment that pervades the whole release. Towards the end of the track a psychedelic reflection reshapes the sound: it is the light that filters, crystal clear and bright. The other track on the same side, Part 2, is more dancefloor oriented with a 4/4 beat and multi-layered structure made of typical industrial and techno sonorities. It's evident that they include Roberto Bosco's legacy: stormy emotions but with deep and melodic sound lines. Part 3 is another intro track, starting with spectral sounds that carefully develop into a full sci-fi ambience. Then, finally, part 4 arises with obscure and hypnotics sounds that match very slowly a more perpetual and gentle 4/4 that ends with ups and downs and a syncopated bass.

A year after his first release on the label, German deepsmith Sven Weisemann is back on Delsin with a sophomore effort entitled Separate Paths. Down for his moody outings on labels like Mojuba and Telrae, this new four track affair continues to mark out the man behind it as a master of atmosphere. Grooves floating in mid air and subtle melodies drift by like half remembered thoughts. Head music that also makes your body move. It may only be four tracks long, but this EP truly takes you on a journey somewhere far away from this world.

When Tresor founder Dimitri Hegemann stumbled into a former bank vault in East Berlin on March 13th 1991, he had little idea that the space he had unlocked would fast become one of Berlin's most influential and enduring techno clubs. "We didn't know what would happen 10 months later," he says. "We signed a lease for a year. Which eventually got renewed for another three months, and another three months.."

As Tresor celebrates its 25th anniversary with this work of artists from the US, Germany, China, France, Austria, Italy and the UK, it is worth dwelling on how the cultural conditions that birthed Detroit techno - economic neglect and broken industry - were mirrored by the disused bunkers and impromptu parties of post-unification East Berlin, where techno found new, vigorous expression.

Today, though the boom and bust of globalised capitalism has filled the void that followed the Berlin Wall, and techno has become a worldwide industry, we face a new political chapter, one defined by populism, nationalism and mistrust. Contemporary creatives should take inspiration from Tresor's story, an extraordinary experiment born from improvisation, resourcefulness and social neglect that uplifted the spirits of inner city communities for a quarter-century.

This record marks the spirit of those 25 years of creativity, a paean to the psychedelic music of Dimitri's youth. From the signature magnetic soundscapes of Vainqueur to the dark textures of upcoming Beijing producer Shao; from Jon Hassell's slow epicurean volutes, to the ritual auras of Marcelus and Claudia Anderson's contributions; from the dub-infused pioneering programming of Juan Atkins and Moritz von Oswald, to Mønic's enthralling cadences, it represents some of the old and new names that continually epitomise Tresor's perennial spirit of ingenuity. "We were space pioneers," says Dimitri.

The East Berlin of 1991 may have disappeared to gentrification, with Tresor's lonely vanguard joined by an army of venues catering to an international array of clubbers benefiting from low cost travel, many of whom settle in the city for good. Berlin is Europe's economic engine, headquarters to global industry and sole traders alike, where Polish, Kurdish and English are as likely to be spoken as German. That range of influences is felt in all areas of life, not least in the city's music.

"Without Tresor, Berlin would not be what it is today," concludes Dimitri. "Even though it sounds a bit pretentious, it is true. Tresor was the prototype for an extraordinary club. It was only possible as a combination of the right time, the right place, the right content and determined people."

The Berlin-based label 'Forbidden Behaviours' welcomes aboard the romanian talent Zefzeed which has previously released on labels such as All Inn, BodyParts, Untold Stories just to name a few. The EP is composed by three tracks that showcase perfectly the refined ears and tastes of the artist. This is a must for any serious vinyl pusher! Don't sleep on this one..

Cakeman Records is a new record label created and curated by Dragos Ilici. The first release comes from romanian producer Teluric. "În Padurea Fermecata" means "in the magical forest" in romanian. Its name provides the track originality, and it piques curiosity. It is a trippy yet solid techno track, rich in atmospheres and pads, warm and intense in the same time.
"Magnetic Fields" is a stripped down dub techno track. Rolling hihats, a punchy kick drum that moves your body, and a classic dub techno stab combine in a simple yet groovy and effective track.

Kevin Arnemann and Daan Kemp's Taped Artifact label clocks up its fourth release with a three track offering from Outlaw Rec boss and key part of the Italian Serendipity club, namely Matthew Oh. Matthew has previously released on his own label and others like Side Off, and eloquently marries dub, techno and house into smooth and sensuous sonic landscapes. The opening track 'Psycho Hub' is an atmospheric and spacious roller with dubbed out drums and pads, coupled with incendiary hi hats urging you along. 'Shroud' is seven minutes of slick and spaced out deep techno with liquid synths and clacking hits all racing along and making for a frictionless groove that sucks you right in. Finally, 'Get in the Fridge' slows the tempo down and becomes an even more widescreen and roomy roller with suspensory pads, smeared synths and aqueous sonic details that make you feel like you are floating in sound.

Catren hits the shelves with its second release, a 3-tracker slow cooked by Emi Nescu.We jump on this house & techno bandwagon with Maimultmodelat, a 12 minute piece stripped down to its hihat backbone, with the focus points centered here & there on the wobbly bassline and the sharp cut kicks. We are moving forward with new sounds this summer, and are happy to shed some light on our '4Plae Blanc' project. This series is geared towards slightly lighter vibes, and 001 will really set the tone for what is to come.

Hailing from the city of Bucharest, Nice ' N Trick have been earning their stripes over the past couple of years, which includes having works on labels such as Mulen, Heisenberg, Arupa, Baile Musik, Tzinah and many more. Their track 'Adiacent' delivers the vibrant sounds we love, brought together with tight percussion and warm soundscapes.

Another gem from Bucharest has contributed to 4PLVB001. Direkt has become a good friend of the label and we are extremely happy and proud to have him on board this release. 'Caries' is a bouncy and atmospheric track that delivers a solid analog sound - another factor we feel passionate about. No doubt this wont be the last you hear from Direkt in coming months...

Percival is also an analog head. This Detroit artist has bundles of musical knowledge and a love for many types of music. His track 'All Night' is a vocal orientated track with crisp hats and snares, and a pounding kick throughout - we love the mood this track set's at parties.

In the past few months, 4Plae founder ADMNTi and head honcho at Samani - F.eht, have formed a collective, FAT. Their remix of Percival's track sets a moodier vibe in comparison to the original, and wraps up the release nicely with evolving synths and techier sounds.

Next up for Act Natural Records is Duky with remixes from Miro Pajic and Shaf Huse.

Almost a year after its first release, Swiss label Framework Recordings offers a fine follow up from fledgling artists Domo with a remix from the well established David Durango.

Domo are a pair of Swiss producers with a sound characterised by a focus on atmosphere and depth, taking cues from the rawness of Detroit and Berlin. They are closely associated with this label and play extended sets at parties under this banner, and more than come correct with their moody offerings here.

"Beyond the Clouds" was recorded from a live session near the heart of Detroit using hand crafted modular synthesizers, analog devices and custom made effects units. Remastered by Ron Murphy @ NSC Mastering, Detroit, USA shortly before he passed away, his memory will live in our hearts forever. In this Live version of cv313's classic, the modular recordings were separated, dissected in the mix and dubbed out with a litany of analog effects. During this performance there was a mystical element in the air, strobe lights, vaporous gas and electric dreams. A connection felt with the dancers, a groove beyond a groove, it is that magical essence of Japan. This was a night to remember, recorded live in Tokyo with love. During the closing moments, the ghostly ambiance faded, the smoke cleared and beyond the sequence was born. Remastered by Bazza @ Alchemy Studio, London. UK.

Lessismore (formerly Lessismorecordings) was launched 10 years ago, and has been on hold for a few years. At the time the transition from vinyl to digital didn't feel right and now that the vinyl market is coming up again the love and faith to release a beautiful product (vinyl with cool artwork) is back.This 10 year anniversary is a good reason to revive from hibernation state and to start sharing great music again. The first few releases from the relaunch will represent re-releases of the strongest EP's from the back catalogue with remixes by respected artists.

The Alexis Tyrel remix of Estroe's Taxotere has a palpable energy which comes from the masterful fusion of pounding kicks and luminous synth stabs that swell and bulge out through the mix like bright flashes of summer lightning.

The Advent remix of MBC's Zeitlupe starts with a galloping synth that builds in intensity. Just as one is lulled into a "false feel" of the track, the synth part transforms into the syncopated groove of the original version. The track fluctuates between both patterns periodically. With several intriguing modifications of the main sound throughout, and with a pacey aggression, this track is both fierce and deep.

Gideon also remixes Zeitlupe and in his version the intensity is increased a little more. The main groove is prevalent again which drives this remix. However, the real profound sections are where the beat breaks down and yields to the resonantly electrifying lead synth which consumes all in its path. Conspicuously powerful and driving.

Once more on remix duties, this time Gideon interprets Alexis Tyrel's H for Hustler. Rhythm and percussion based, it exemplifies Lessismore's ethic - it is both fundamental and bold. Strong and steady machine like beats push the track along relentlessly while industrial scrapes grind away on top. The "Hustler" sample is sporadically placed but is still used enough to give a hypnotic feel to its use.

The original version of H for Hustler by Alexis Tyrel focuses on the basic elements that are at the core of timeless dance classics. The captivating and hypnotizing beat powers its way throughout. The "Hustler" sample is used rhythmically to great effect while the perfectly aimed machine-gun snares find their mark and are perfectly positioned to hold attention and build atmosphere where needed.

11th November sees dynamic duo Hiver return to cherished Belgium imprint, Curle Recordings, with their latest EP, entitled 'Soundescence'.

This excellent four-track offering is the Italian pairing's third EP on Curle, following on from 'Blue Aconite' in 2013 and 'Same Mistake Twice' last year, which garnered them support from techno heavyweights such as Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier and Efdemin.

Curle, who recently celebrated their 10th anniversary, have fast become one of the most exciting and respected underground labels in the game. Past releases by the likes of Hiver, as well as prolific DJ/producer, Matthew Herbert, whose timeless track 'See You On Monday' was recently reissued by them, has contributed towards this success.

Kicking off the release is the title-named track, 'Soundescence', displaying the melodic, psychedelic sound Hiver has been praised for previously. Delicate synth patterns perfectly bled with the understated drums and percussive elements. This ethereal approach to Techno continues on the following deep-groover, 'One More Snooze'.

The B-side opener, 'Phonotis', immediately breaks the silence with a steady 4/4 rhythm, seeing a squelchy synth bassline, warm pads and floating atmospheric textures scattered throughout the six-minute number.

Closing the EP is 'Floor Diving', which once again showcase Hiver's sleek and seductive style of dance music that is made for the dark, underground clubs of Europe and beyond.

Age Coin's newest recording, 'Performance,' drenches industrial-infused techno in high definition details, divining a cracked bump & flex from the condensation of a joyride. With a handful of tapes on Posh Isolation, as well as an album on Luke Younger's Alter, Kristian Emdal and Simon Formann have developed a project whose momentum and reputation has steadily escalated, finding common ground between electro-acoustic methods and quantised club nights. Both Emdal and Formann are best known as members of Lower (RIP), and both have since continued to devote themselves to a series of projects in the band's wake. Emdal has lately pivoted his time around Marching Church, a band comprised of some of Copenhagen's finest, whilst Formann has been working under the guise of Yen Towers, releasing his debut 12" on Posh Isolation earlier this year. "Trespassing on intimate territory," says Emdal of their new recording, Age Coin "cuts a transparent path for everyone to come walking." "The album is ultimately a joint effort to process past as well as present experiences within father son relations. In order to make things tangible, scenes are drawn from memory and merged in a shared fictional collage." 'Performance' thrillingly presents Emdal and Formann in a new cryptically lush aspect. There is a sense that one is watching a slide show—familiarity motions like the tide in the form of acoustic instrumentation, and porous synthesized terrains are crossed with a feeling, not a map, nor a memory. As one watches, the creeping ambience comes to be less an invasive sensation and more of a gravitational pull through time itself. It's as effortless as it is disorientating, like being stalked by a relic. Propellants ascend in to the foreground from all directions. Rhythmic NO2 afterglow comes in waves in reverse. Weightlessness is induced, and rebound. "Take in the view or let yourself be part of the language. Let the engine run and dip in to the swampy collective intelligence. 'Performance' is a hybrid memorial for all domestic actions committed in the name of love."

The fourth album of Driftmachine is not an album in the classical context, it´s a collection of new studio music, remixes by Shackleton and The Sight Below, and material previously available only in digital formats.

The album starts off with the surprising Shackleton remix of Radiations, a little gem gleaming with all the spacious percussions you can expect from the British producer. Stretching vibrations over tense atmospheres and post-techno broken beats, Shackleton (who generously offered to contribute this track on his own initiative) delivers a fine feat of rhythmic acrobatics, deconstructing Driftmachine's modular synthesis. The album features Driftmachine's latest studio track, Vermiform Burrows, a swinging composition very much in line with the duo's recent rhythm-oriented work. The Sight Below's remix of Vermiform Burrows offers a very different perspective and interpretation of their music: minutely detailed and nebulous, an expansive ambient-techno track that de-accelerates the original's beat. Other surprise in store, is Call Mr. Moriba, which was originally offered as a digital-only bonus-track on the debut album Nocturnes (2014), Driftmachine's critically acclaimed first LP, and is now available in vinyl format for the first time. Also included is the original LP version of Radiations, first published in the Colliding Contours (2015) album. Driftmachine's Radiations is an excellent showcase of Andreas Gerth and Florian Zimmer's sound: obsessive, symmetrical, multilayered, a deep and elegant language based on the shaky, unpredictable foundations of modular synthesis.

Last Signs is Eli's first solo release since) and explores a very different side of his unique acoustic universe. One instrument and the hyper-mediated sonic ecosystem of the club sound system in which the macrocosmic percussive collisions of his earlier work give way to a gradual unfolding of dub-influenced rhythmic constellations. Eli has described Last Signs as his response to playing in club environments over the last few years, an attempt to negotiate a delicate balance between the materiality of his acoustic. Coming off like an inspired synthesis between Scientist and Xenakis, Last Signs of Speed is a truly unique work by an artist at the height of his powers.

If you're familiar with CVbox' music you know that he isn't the guy for your average Techno track. Formalistic song structures aren't his thing. When you'll start to listen to a new CVBox track you'll don't know how it will end. His music derives from his deep love for analogue gear and a pretty unique way to deal with it. On his first album "So ist es im Nadelwald" CVBox rides between the corner points of Techno, Electro and Ambient. The music is infused by an omnipresent darkness that isn't just there as an end in itself but will definitely give the thrills to listener and dancers. Some of the tracks develop a rarely heard urgency on the dance floor with those dub-influenced swirls or ever-present synth tides while simultaneously preserving a rather intimate atmosphere. Sometimes it's just an unfamiliar sound that makes the difference that simply comes out of nowhere. One thing is for certain: CVBox is all about atmosphere. As you can see by the album's artwork and title ("Nadelwald" is German for softwood forest) The album is also inspired by his passion to go into nature. When he is sick of the whirlwind that is his current hometown Leipzig he disappears into Saxony's hinterland for collecting mushrooms or just letting the thoughts flow. The double 12" comes in a beautiful package designed by Jacob Stoy with hand numbered and printed outer sleeve and two printed innersleeves on strong cardboard.

Boogie Box, a bi-monthly party in the Middle East, launches its record label with an LP by STL aka Stephan Laubner.

With tracks and releases on Smallville, Phonica, Echochord and his own label Something Records, STL has crafted an unmistakeable sound that he has become so well known for, Deep and Dubby House and Techno.

The a-side opens up with Hide & Seek, a 10-minute story filled with dub delays, weird soundscapes, and eerie pads, backed up by STL's signature drums. If you are into Andy Stott, Deepchord and Rhythm & Sound, then this if for you. Perfect warm up material.

On the flip-side is Haze & Kraze. Another long player by STL. This time, there is more drive to it. Leaning towards the darker side, the track is driven by Stephan's loose drums' programming, and muffled bassline, keeping the track moving and ever-changing. Something for your after-after-hour sets perhaps

Morphosis' epic remix is more spaced and spooked than the original — the dread in check — but still body-rocking and stepping out of its silences. B-boy rimshots, a rough snare, a thumping kick-drum and spare bass are layered with emotive synths and brilliant effects, as Shackleton's dream liturgy unfolds in its full, twisted glory — an eerie, garbled sublimity, like a kind of black-magic plainsong. In the midst of a busy year, full of wildly-varied accomplishments, David Lieske (aka Carsten Jost) has surprised us all with an unannounced 11-track full-length album on Dial-- his first since 2000's "You Don't Need A Weatherman..." In the interim he's kept busy curating countless releases on Dial, the label he co-runs with Peter "Lawrence" Kersten, celebrated a 15 year label anniversary with an all-encompassing 2LP/various artists'

compilation, released a gallery-edition album of his black ambient collaboration Misanthrope CA with Robert Kulisek, "Deathbridge" and launched a new magazine project (also with Kulisek) named after the speed of light i.e. "299792458m/s". All this activity, even after his recent trans-atlantic relocation from Berlin to New York City, mainly to open the American branch of Mathew Gallery has surely taken us all by welcome surprise.
Out of all of the Dial house and techno artists, Carsten Jost has always represented the most precise brand of exquisitely doom-laden house, laced with equally strong doses of melancholy and beauty. Here on "Perishable Tactics", Lieske runs through his distinctively stealthy low-slung beat-mospheres, leaning towards a decidedly low-lit and sultry space, but mixed with a fresh, gently arc-ing feeling of romance and dare I say itLove() Tellingly he's seen it fit to include 2007's "Love"-one of his best e.p. tracks from a split release with Efdemin. But while "Love" represents a climbing and yearning towards a place where love might reside, the remaining new tracks debuting here seem to represent a place where this love actually exists. This feeling is woven into his deep, medium tempo, detroit-inflected house rhythms, accented with crystalline keys, disembodied voices at times and gently soaring strings. While anger may be less in the forefront here it is important to notice that these tracks are ripe with the balance of joy and unease inherent in house. There is definitely a newfound languidity here that feels particularly like a moment shared by two (perhaps amongst many) but the atmosphere still remains decidedly pensive. See "Ambush" with it's strolling beat, moody yet sweet chords and chilling atmosphere later joined by thunder cracking in an almost-approving-manner a safe-distance away.
Of course diehard fans will find satisfaction knowing that Lieske's delectable angst hasn't completely abated. Title track "Perishable Tactics" takes a disarmingly peaceful setting and rolls a heavy fog over it to herald a sure-to-arrive fate that awaits us all. (See also "Army Green".). But with "Dawn Patrol" the whispering hi-hat and gently clanking rhythm offset by rolling strings marries the old and new Carsten Jost most successfully. All of this atmosphere bookended by ambient intro and outro tracks by Misanthrope CA make for a perfectly foreboding, elegant and deliciously dark new album release by Carsten Jost.

Somewhere between a Dadaistic mixtape, a surreal audio collage sourced from his record collection, and sporadic interjections from his own storehouse of outlandish and intriguing productions, this 79-minute journey reveals Madteo's freewheeling rigor in the studio. Prone to glitching, rhythmic ruptures, and end-times bass frequencies, Confessions surfs quark-infested waters with hallucinogenic logic. Fragmentation rules everything around Madteo. You will hear — among other things — Adderall-addled raps subsumed by mutant techno, radio ads for trance-blues masters Canned Heat, riveting noise-techno merging into lopsided hiphop reminiscent of Jan Jelinek's Exposures project, the passionate folk balladry of Lucio Battisti, the glittery soul of Billy Preston, and some of the coldest and oddest electro funk ever. Throughout, Madteo flaunts baffling, unprecedented sounds arranged in confounding configurations. Confessions of a Permanent Alien Opium Beater is another crucial piece of a discography from one of music's most fascinating enigmas, a celestial lysergic jukebox that conjures new pleasures and deeper mysteries with each listen.

Two hypnotic tracks, both trademarked by deep elements and strongly pervaded with a dub flavour, which turns more and more into a gentle bass drum are now added to our precious collection of Love Songs for Dragons. PFR002 signed ALPI

From the disputed border somewhere between Lancashire and Yorkshire, G..H. claims a no mans land where he is free to decimate distinctions between black metal and concrète techno by drawing upon an elusive, metaphysical force that's exclusively common to music rooted in that region; from Muslimgauze and Autechre thru Shackleton and Demdike Stare.
The inarguably mongrel Housebound Demigod is G.H.'s debut solo album, following the Ground EP(2011) and his involvement with the hexed Pendle Coven project & HATE, alongside Miles Whittakeand Andy Stott, respectively, between 2003 - 2009.
It sounds like nothing out there; the result of countless hours at the grindstone, using sound as tonal therapy and a purely expressive sculptural material to best render the feel of his bleak but extraordinarily beautiful surroundings with all the rugged texture and captivating aesthetic of some ancient cave graffiti.
The album unfolds as a treacherous topography of boggy drones, entrenched subbass and deforested, windswept feedback, strewn with the charred remains of black metal in opener Screaming Demon Pickups and the hollow-eyed stare down of Angels & Doormen, or prone to burthe senses with unpredictable slow techno mudslides in Mickey Cosmos or the subsidence of Packhorse.
He often underlines that physicality with a drily ambiguous wit; check the bitterly clipped narrative on Yorkshire Fog, or, equally, when he puts all his weight behind the stylus-troubling, bestial shudder of Devils Bit Scabious, and you can't shake the feeling that he's gurning like an eviloon behind the rotten torque of the album's titular parting shot.
While ostensibly monotone, overcast, the devil is found in the album's subtleties of timing and mixing detail; riddled with phantasms that lurk and lash out from the crevices of its granite slabs and pitch black ravines, all placed at oblique angles in his surreally folded, labyrinthine and unheimlich soundfield...

Dutch collaborative label ESHU Records is back with more inventive techno, this time from Tom Liem and Ben Buitendijk on their 'Split 01 EP'. Liem has already released here as J&L (together with label co-founder Jocelyn Abell), and has also done so on one of the excellent Field Records compilations. Now he makes his solo proaction debut, and it is a fine one across two tracks, while Mosaic associate and Rotterdam producer Ben Buitendijk also serves up a fine solo contribution to complete another promosing release. Opener 'Equilibrium Two' from Buitendijk is a perfectly streamlined and serene bit of spaced out, hypnotic techno. Gentle synth pulses roam about the airwaves, left and right, up and down, as ethereal pads glow behind. It's heady dancing music, whilst Liem's 'Contact' is also perfectly aimed at both head and heel. It is full of lick synth pulses that bubble and boil as watery droplets and ticking hits also colour the most subliminal groove. Closer 'This Is All You Need' is a more textured, frazzled cut with frosty lines and rickety pads working you into a trance. Rich drums and clever bass filtration add dynamics and tension and so like everything else here the end result is hugely captivating.

This Sound EP includes the track This Sound aptly named after the EP along with Sneakwow and On a Soul Trip. Niko & Kapper are his inspiration and later this year Jamie will support Tini & The Gang. We are really proud and honored to present ESPECTRUM, a year-long effort to put together a compilation of the best dub techno. The idea was simple, but ambitious: ask some of our favorite artists for one track to epitomize dub techno—the style of music we've loved and continued to develop since our birth as producers and a label. With a very precise idea of what we wanted to collect, the compilation was carefully built with hypnotic, obscure, dense, and magical sounds with an eternal hook. These are the kind of tracks that will never lose their appeal, because they go above and beyond labels, styles, and trends, resisting the passage of time. After the first tracks starting coming in, the idea grew more and more special, and the concept even stronger. We knew we were onto something really big. And, finally, here it is.

Here are no edges only night. The same dream again and again just a little bit different. In the future everything will be the present. No distance and no edges only light years. Large silver clouds inside the eyelids, glittering and electric because of the black space. Planets like eyeshine, things hide in the dark. Listen for what you can't see.
