It has been a long time coming, LDDLM is more than happy to welcome a house friend, Cosmo Vitelli.
This EP is a complement to the recent (and forthcoming) Malka Tuti releases, coherent fragments of a creative year. If Cosmo is known for his wavey-krautey (I have no other words) productions going back to the Bot’ox days, he also has a meaner side. The aptly titled “Un Episode Psychotique” is disco gone wrong, italo with neurosis, straying from polished clichés, musical yet strangely anxiogen. It is turned into an Eighties monster by GOTT aka Sneaker and Scannoir. Their Creatio Instrumentalis is a cold funk monster and their Creatio Continualis amps up the EBM factor.
How does one translate Giallo in Croat? “Tisja” may answer the question, the spoken words of Tanja Vežić burning through the celluloid.
Finally, “The Shy Dictator” is like an early Chemical Brothers breakbeat monster, powerful yet psychedelic, canalised fury of bells and drums.

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, he made a name for himself playing on a regular basis in his home city for the last couple of years as a resident of the Subject.Dublin parties, District 8 and more.
After hearing his track 'Oiche' on the Fiedeltwo Various Artists last year and getting to know each other during a long party in a dark place, it was just a a matter of time to get him on board. Robert crafted a super effective, hypnotic and spacey four-tracker E.P. called 'Final Approach'. All the necessary ingredients are perfectly mixed together to make you dance: clean kicks, polished basslines, incisive hi-hats, killer snares, percussive toms, dreamy pads and more. Each track produces an irresistible tension that will make your body move!

Helmed by Cristiano Cellu and Simone M, Be Apart is an emerging Italian label with a penchant the more discerning side of house and techno. Based in Florence, the imprint kicked off only recently courtesy of an an auspicious V/A that saw the aforementioned label heads featured alongside the likes of Nadia Popoff, Marko Nastic and Peter Makto & Gregor S. For their latest installment, Cellu and Simone M team up once more on the electrifying sounds of the Phaconto EP.
A boisterous cut of peak-time techno, the title track is an evocative track that's without doubt been made with the night's most passionate moments in mind. Although it starts off on a relatively innocuous tip, it soon morphs into a baseline-led banger, the likes of which is yearning to be played on a vast soundsystem. A surefire call for dancefloor destruction, 'Phaconto' offers a fitting insight into two producers who clearly have a clear understanding in the studio.
On the flip side of the vinyl-only release is Federico Grazzini's remix. Ibiza regulars will be all too aware of Grazzini's talents, and aside from being a resident at Zoo, he's also a resident at Florence's best known nightspot, Tenax. Grazzini keeps the original's eerie vibe intact on his interpretation, but adds some clever drums and a heightened sense of suspense that elevates it to further levels still. Be Apart's latest release sure ain't subtle - but that my friend, is exactly the point. If you're after something that's sure to move the floor this weather, then look no further.

LumièresLaNuit is glad to welcome Istanbul-based duo Bärtaub (Mutlu San & Batuhan Güler) for the 6th release of the label. As
in most of the duos, each of the members has his speciality. Whereas Mutlu focuses primarely on the music production, Batu is
known by Istanbul's house/techno aficionados as a restless DJ.
On the A side, Entropy reveals a moveable techno feast marked by a distanced horn. On the B-side, Rhizome features a bubbly
feeling with insistent though indistinct voice-like cuts led by a determined bassline and a lifting synth melody which travels to
various undetermined directions, proposing a fair groove for unfair times. The EP concludes with Strata, an amalgam of spoken
words, synths and clear beats offering a solid and relaxing mood that leads to a satisfying exit from this groovy forest.
Bärtaub's debut EP is called Rhizome (type of plant root) not without reason. Beats, melodies and bassline jump over, crawl
under and draw apart from each other in unexpected and non-hierarchical ways. In the end, they all come together in a harmonious
manner that creates an overall of excitingly playful forest-like atmosphere.
Mutlu San is a techno producer & DJ, sound designer and soundtrack artist from Istanbul. In 2014, hw sounddesigned the movie
Watch My Soundtracks - Anarchic Harmony, which will be released as a soundtrack album on his imprint Polyfisch Musik. In 2015,
Mutlu released his Leidenfrost EP (PTR003) on Petra Digital/Vinyl that includes a remix by John Tejada.
Batuhan Güler is a well established DJ in Istanbul. As one of the guys who kickstarted Indigo Club (2004), Batu was - along with
his longtime associate Onur Özer - one of its resident DJs. He also used to play at Istanbul's finest clubs Wake Up Call as well and
Suma Beach, where he run his Hard Case Scenario partie series. Not long ago, he has begun operating as music director and
resident DJ at Istanbul's Hütte club.

The first volume of the new remixes series is up next on BLD Tape Recordings. Original tracks previously released have been revisited by artists that support the label since the early days and give shape to this varied and solid 3 remixes EP.
On side A, Eric Cloutier blurs the line between Deep House and Techno with a signature Theorem remix of The Transpose layered with acid basslines and scuffled Dub chords.
Stojche pops up on B1 with an advanced Power House-ish vision of Crawling showcasing drums, chords and leads precisely crafted.
And on B2, Copenhagen-based Anastasia Kristensen delivers her take on Bubble Games bringing us into a trippy and faster dark mood charged by repetition and enigmatic pads.
Lumièreslanuit (alias Lln) Is Glad To Welcome Back Moscow-based Duet Bypass On The Occasion Of The 6th Release Of Its Off Series.

Emerging slowly from understated beginnings, 'Running Into The Sun' sees Komodo deliver the kind of expansive tones that easily establish a vibe on the dancefloor, nodding to progressive house's fundamentals while borrowing plenty from earthier, more organic-sounding ends of the four-four scene.
Eric Duncan does the business on the remix, taking it into tougher territory and throwing in a cacophony of drummy intersections that help build the atmosphere, placing the whole arrangement on a knife-edge. 'Slow Burning' does what it says on the tin, growing and grooving its way through spiralling synths and acidic inflections, adding some gentle chords to bring in some welcome melody.
Latrec evidently has a different understanding of the phrase given his remix, cutting back to throbbing kick drums while allowing just enough of the harmony to enter earshot, with trance-like results.

Italian Techno inspiration Marco Faraone is finally back with a own release on his UNCAGE imprint after a four year solo release hiatus, he delivers another mighty offering, as expected. Next to his hard hitting new single, big remixes come from legends of the underground in Mark Broom, Efdemin and Mike Huckaby. 'Matter of Perspective' is the original single and is an urgent techno banger with heavy kick drums and wild, frazzled synth lines, industrial groans and textures add weight and darkness as this most unrelenting cut races into the night. Long time UK techno stalwart, Mark Broom then flips the track into something more stripped back and bouncy, but with a raved up energy that never lets up and keeps you on your toes. German studio wizard Efdemin then brings all his years of clever trickery to a remix which is said to be one of his last remixes for a while (so soak it up whilst you can), it is perfectly deep and hypnotic, with curious synth sounds and multi-layered keys bringing the intensity. Last of all, Detroit great Mike Huckaby layers in plenty of his trademark dub techno grit, smoky textures and catchy claps to finish off what is a standout EP on UNCAGE.

With Topping describing the EP’s title track as the “heaviest” thing he’s ever produced, ‘Dungeon Freak’ is an unrelenting slab of rave techno, with Daddy Dino’s deadpan, spoken-word vocals only adding to it’s dark aura. Similarly cold and heavy, ‘Snide’ is a chunky, metallic number that continues to build in intensity across its seven minutes. “This EP is more like the vibe of ‘Watch What Your Doing’ EP. The title track is so dark, with mad ravey synths but the bit I’m most excited about is the vocal!
“The phrase ‘the techno dungeon’ is really just a daft thing me and mates used to say years ago about when you are locked on the dancefloor and can’t leave because your so into the music. So it’s more a metaphorical place in your mind, than it is an actual dungeon or venue!”

Dutch powerhouses Parrish Smith and Interstellar Funk team up for their debut collaboration on L.I.E.S. with a new four track ep. Striking up the perfect balance of both their signature styles, this record hits the sweet spot between metallic synthwave, slow beat industrial, and clanging EBM hybrids. The duo effortlessly weave together a sonic narrative with nods to the past but unmistakable emphasis on their ever expanding foward thinking future sound. Recommended!

Tagliabue provides the two original tracks from his AFRO SPAZIO EP released on COSMICA MUSIC in May 2019. With psychedelic atmospherics, deep melodic layers and tribal rhythmic formations, he sets a wonderful palette of cosmic frequencies, to stimulate the remixers visionary powers and creativity. DJ Rocca started to produce in the late 90s, working on some drum&bass and breakbeat singles as Maffia Soundsystem from the same name club in Italy, where he was the main resident DJ. In his career he
collaborated with Howie B, Pressure Drop, Zed Bias, Dimitri From Paris, Daniele Baldelli and Jazzanova producing singles, remixes and albums on some of the best european labels as Sonar Kollektiv, Compost, Classic, Rekids, Skint, Hell Yeah, Rebirth, Internasjonal, Futureboogie Recordings, !K7, Deep Freeze, Tirk,
International Feel, Defected, Skint, Gomma, Paper Recordings. As a producer, DJ Rocca is also part of Ajello (with Taver), Supersonic Lovers (with Marcello Giordani) and Crimea X (with Jukka Reverberi). He has remixed big names such as Oliver Koletzki, Luke Solomon, Blaze, Isolee, Pete Herbert, Bjorn Torske, Chris Coco, Dimitri From Paris, Andrew Weatherall, Justin Robertson, Soul Clap and now our very own Joseph Tagliabue. With the award-winning jazz musician Franco D’Andrea he has formed the Electric Tree Project, a contemporary music trio, hovering between jazz and electronics, with a double album released in April 2016 on Parco Della Musica Records, defined as record of the month for the magazine Musica Jazz (June 2016). The collaboration with such a great name of the jazz scene, moves on with the realisation of an octet and the production of a new album entitled “Intervals I”, recorded live at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome last March 2017. Mushrooms Project is Giorgio Giri and Marco Lentano, producers and serial collectors of vinyl with a common passion for dj’ing and for any type of music whatsoever. The project came into being in 2003 when Giorgio, a punk band drummer and vinyl collector with a strong preference for anything from psychedelic rock to Afro, meets Marco a deejay since 1994 who mixes every possible kind of dance music; from afro to house, passing through techno and progressive. 2013 saw their debut album ‘Undergrass’ released on Leng Records, which was a continuous evolution of their sound elaborated in close contact with other musicians.
In 2015, Ivan King, a talented guitarist who had collaborated many times with the Mushrooms Project, became an integral part of their productions. They have now dj’ed across the world and are known for their hallucinating and all encompassing music that is made using live instrumentation such as guitar, bass, synth and percussion to create a “dirty” but unique insight to the very long, deep, mesmerizing and unusual minds of the Mushrooms.
We are proud to showcase a pure Italian collaboration effort. The uprising talents of the new generation of progressive producers meet with the Masters of the Cosmic House genre for an epic production.

After inaugurating the label with a tape in 2015, our local friend Richard Brown (AKA Brown Irvin) returns to Motion Ward with an oblique two-track 12" entitled "Run Me That Soul". "Locution" flexes a wobbly equilibrium of dubbed dancefloor energy and amorphous acid while "Overcast" coats the B Side in a smeared gradient of ambient wash and shape-shifting stasis. A persuasive pair of parallel worlds for winding up and winding down.

Brooklyn based 369 Records returns with its second release, a split 12'' featuring artist Co La and Jeremy Hyman.
A side is laced with the freaky self extended edit of Co La's "Barricade". This track sculpts sound into a club ready fast pace tune sure to leave people intrigued and begging for more.
On the B side Jeremy Hyman introduces a hypnotic melody unlike many you have heard before. Building on this melody it slaps you with the clap, and beats you with the bass. Dance floor tested , this release is not your average twelve inch.
Both Co La and Jeremy Hyman have a rich discography and sick pedigree before their solo careers.Co La aka Matthew Papich played in Ecstatic Sunshine ( Carpark Records) before starting his solo project Co La (Software Records, Primary Information) , and also a key contributor to Lifted (Pan Records)

No wools, no blerts. Jus’ smoov style. We are talking about scouserin´ and swervin’. And Leeds finest Antony Beardsley in perticular. A lone gunman producing analogue, slow paced dance music influenced by pioneers like Andrew Weatherall, Richard D. James and Danny Wolfers. Sometimes all you need is some service. And that’s exactly what Höga Nord will give you with this four track EP by the name The Last Ride’. Opening title track sounds like Mr Kowalski, top dressed’ in a white track suit, speeding away for the vanishing point. The Last Ride would be the soundtrack of choice for Mr. Kowalskis Requiem for the American Dream. The organic baselines seduces you like the bright side of the illusion of that sleazy dream. A-sides second track ’We Own The Night’ will chug you all nite long. And B-sides ’Black Dog’ will make your mornings velvet with evil heat. Straight acid approach. Magic Feet Recordings, Stripped Off and Clouded Vision Records has already released him. But in Gothenburg we stay Höga and only settles for the best. We mentioned service earlier. We are also a crew. And this time we’re really doing you. All night long. Some darker morning when we’re straight - lets open up... We do dat doe dont we doe. Friendly, witty, welcoming and all. But it isn't called dirty for no reason. All love, charm and bifter - get lifted!

'Eagles & Butterflies has taken storm in electronic wonderland' - Boiler Room Arpeggiator was originally titled '14 minutes of Arps' and its exactly that. Its one of the simplest tracks I'v ever made with probably only 8 layers that your weaves in and out the whole way through, really love the subtleness of this track where at the same time it is also a beast! Oyeme is maybe the E&B sound people are familiar with, big marimba melodies, fat sub and rolling hats with a big break, love this one Prophet was originally just an experiment when i purchased a prophet 6, its a little crazy and pretty full on, love the funky bass in the one from the SH 101. All the parts for this where recorded in a few takes live and two whole track was made in 2 hours!
U.K.-born, L.A.-based producer/DJ, Chris Barratt - aka - Eagles & Butterflies breaks all boundaries across the electronic music spectrum. His productions flow seamlessly through Downtempo, Techno, House and beyond, with releases on Innervisions, Bedrock, Exit Strategy, Sapiens and his own imprint Art Imitating Life. From remixing Underworld, RY X, Agoria, Moby, Andhim and Ludovico Einaudi, Eagles & Butterflies is the newest toast of the underground. His live sets have electrified stages around the world at events such as Circoloco, Awakenings, Mosaic By Maceo, Coachella, Junction 2, Lightning In A Bottle, Sacred Ground, Secret Garden Party, Tomorrowland and many more. With support from dance music heavyweights such as Dixon, Ame, DJ Tennis, John Digweed, Maceo Plex, E&B was also named one of Mixmag's Breakthrough Acts this year, was featured numerous times in DJ Magazine and was plucked for a guest mix on Pete Tong's BBC Radio show. Upcoming releases on Agoria's fresh imprint Sapiens, Art Imitating Life 003, features on Nic Fanculli's debut LP, a collab with John Digweed and a remix for RY X, the Eagle has most certainly landed.

Side A is a perfect merger off a Chicago v Detroit sound, with jacking drums overlapping deep but never dull chords and stabs. With stabs of vocals reminding the room that you are seriously 'Mackin tha Heat'.
The B-side shows a completely different sound to the freak with chunky acid house sounds accompanied by a track that has a hypnotic techno style groove from start to end.

Following his debut on Phantasy earlier in 2019, Joshua James returns to the label with ‘Journeys In Love’, complimented by a propulsive remix from Joe Goddard. Flipping the ruthless sleaze and hi-NRG of ‘Coarse’ on its head, the XOYO and Rinse FM resident presents a release that soundtracks the deeper, more vulnerable and always joyous aspects of London’s queer nightlife culture. ‘Journeys In Love’ lands with immediate effect, building steadily and confidently around a trippy sample and the hugely pleasurable push-and-pull of James’ synths. Breathing deeply and suspended in red-light, James’ new production tastefully recalls the late-hour, sensual attitude classic NYC deep house, while transmissions of a bottom-heavy bass weight anchor the track in the capital’s defiant after-hours scene. As a digital exclusive, the Super Drama remix utilises skittering percussion and cymbal rushes to drive things forward, dissolving with a playful acid coda.
Needing little introduction, Hot Chip and Two Bears co-founder Joe Goddard delivers a soaring and complementary reinterpretation of ‘Journeys In Love’, one built on halcyon, analogue sounds and further bathed in ecstasy and melancholy.

The Maghreban aka Ayman Rostom is one of the most unique and respected beat makers working in house and techno today. His dusky grooves, heavy bass pressure and clanking drum breaks sound like they were dredged from the bottom of the river Nile, imbued with a maverick personality that shares kinship with the likes of Detroit's Andres and Waajed, making him a perfect fit on R&S's storied roster of pioneering outsiders. In the past four years, he has released a slew of hotly tipped 12's, mainly on his own label, Zoot, as well as French label Versatile and Bristolian beat mongers Black Acre. Also known as acclaimed hip-hop producer Dr Zygote (also one half of Eglo's Strange U) Rostom has gained a reputation as a producer's producer, garnering heavyweight tastemaker support from the likes of Benji B, Ben UFO, Nicolas Jaar, Trevor Jackson and many others.
After the extended clamour for a Maghreban long player, the wait is over as Rostom is finally ready to unleash his debut album '01DEAS'. "The 12' format is great for the club, but I wanted to go a bit deeper with it, and explore different moods and ideas,' Rostom explains. Packed with richly satisfying cuts, the album draws on the Maghreban's usual musical themes; 90s Home Counties rave, '93 dark jungle, 80s Steppers reggae, Broken Beat, dark modal jazz, colonial Afro Rock and psychedelia.
Despite this eclecticism however, it is the consistently seductive groove at the centre of his music that is the key to his music's ability to entrance the listener.
"Growing up, I remember long car journeys with my dad, he always played a bunch of arabic music, Mohammad Abdel Wahab, Om Kalthoum, Abdel Halim Hafez, as well as Paul Young, Dire Straits, Bob Marley, Otis Redding' Rostom explains. "He used to drum on the steering wheel like a tabla with his palms and fingers - I think that definitely helped me understand rhythm and syncopation." Rostom's love of analogue technology is another key feature of his music, his process often finds him sampling from cassette tapes, employing wheezing compressors, dusty mixing desks and antique effects devices to impart texture, warmth and weight, or as he has described it "The hypnotic sound of confusion'. Throughout 01DEAS a dark mood is evident; "I make heavy, dark music I think growing up with some arabic music allowed me to appreciate minor key stuff. And the Arabic music is big and dramatic. It's one reason I liked death metal and hip-hop in my early teens alongside old hardcore/rave and jungle. It's all heavy, head banging music. I'm usually trying to make the heaviest sounding thing that I can.'
Indeed it is a bit of teenage wish fulfilment for Rostom to be releasing on R&S 'When I was around 11-12 and my brother and I started buying records, the R&S stuff stood out. The Beltram 12's and EPs and Outlander Vamp were records we loved'.
For the first time, the album sees Rostom joined by a stellar cast of guests including Brighton based songstress Victoria Port of Anushka, Zimbabwean vocalist Rutendo Machiridza, rapper A-F-R-O, and best friend Gatto Fritto.
