Another exciting debut on Be As One, this time coming from a real stalwart of the German Techno scene of the past two decades, Savas Pascalidis, with a first on Be As One. With "Fading Lights EP" Savas explores shades of modern Techno while retaining his trademark classic sound throughout the 4 tracks, delivering a perfect fit between the German talented producer and the label's exciting catalogue. Carl Finlow returns with a double pack under his renowned Electro pseudonym, Silicon Scally, featuring tracks produced for the live set he performed to a packed crowd at London's long-running Scand night at the tail end of 2017.

In Carl's own words: 'I used to use a real 808 back in the '90s but when I moved over to France it was left with it's original owner, Ralph Lawson. My equipment was gone almost entirely apart from my Apple Mac, which I used to write ALL of my stuff for about 10 years. Over the last few years I've been experimenting with lots of different USB midi controllers and I've finally ended up with a few that really allow me to play around in real time with both my audio and midi parts and I created a setup where I can have full hands on control of two killer plugins, the D16 Group's Nepheton 808 and Audiorealism's ABL3 303 emulation. The main controller I'm using is the Akai APC40mkII which allows me to map a huge amount of knobs to both of those plugins whilst also giving me mixer faders and pads to trigger drum clips in Ableton Live. Alongside this I also use the Novation LaunchPad Pro to trigger all my bass, keyboard and fx parts. The two units work in really nice harmony with each other and they give me a huge amount of real time control over the live set.'

Better Lost Than Stupid have announced their debut single, 'Alto', for new label, Skint/BMG. 'Alto', is the first new material from their as yet untitled debut album, which is set for release in 2018.

Coldgeist's music on Unknown Bodies is an intimate reinterpretation of coldwave, techno and dark ambient codes, uttered with strength, guts, and an underlying romantic soul. Inspired by nocturnal runs of "bosozoku" bikers clans, who stem from this japanese subculture of the late seventies ; Coldgeist has created a series of soundscapes and songs that evoke speeding through foggy nights and fluorescent lights. Haunting repetitions and stiffness of the rhythms as a metaphor of mechanical gestures, of bodies turned into units of consumption, stranded from the life and passion they crave. The frustration of a youth that only finds relief in extreme experiences, danger, and the sexual tension of speed and crashes. With analog and digital instruments, field recordings but also his own voice and songs, Coldgeist has bred a truly unique record.

Italian duo Hiver present the Spiritual Machines EP, their debut on Obscura. 'Inverted Scale' brandishes a hypnotic synth lead that swirls into a formidable energy. The title track is a meditative ambient cut immersed in deep waters, whilst 'Glass Effect exposes a similar form with radiant sonic properties. On the B side, Orbe turns the title track into a low slung basement workout, whilst Crossing Avenue's rework of RJ45 channels psytrance and rave sentiments.

Milos arrives with his fifth release on his Receptive Visions label. Two Techno cuts with plenty of energy and emotion, aimed directly for the dance floor. Contact High with it's swirling sounds, moving in and out of this rather tasty techno groove. Priming on the other side has solid drums with rave style stabs, that adds a different feel to this vinyl only release.

Next up to bat on Art Alfie's Velvet Pony is Stockholm talent and Karlovak alumni Cj Scott and he hits way out of the park. The EP includes the highly anticipated track Peaktimekatten already featured on Baba Stiltz Resident Advisor mix along with two more housebombs both bearing CJ´s signature touch of speed and urgency stretched out over the full length capacity of a records side .His previous release on Karlovak gained huge support from the likes of Martinez Brothers and Cassy..

The fourth installment in John Osborn's DRED RECORDS series will be from fellow UK producer Harsh Puri who goes under the moniker Reformed Society. DRED 004 consists of six tracks in total - three that will appear on the vinyl release, followed by another three that will be digital-only exclusives. Harsh Puri aka Reformed Society debuted in 2015 with this being his sixth consecutive release in order. Harsh's productions caught John's eye, or rather ear, after being sent to him last year and resulted in this release of six solid prime time deep house stompers. Packaged in an understated matte white sleeve with a black and white picture of Brahma (the four headed Hindu god of creation) handstamped on each cover by the label owner himself, this being a continuation of the human skull DRED logo. 'ONE LIFE' opens the 'DIMENSIONS' EP and is the track given to label boss John Osborn for deconstructing and remoulding into his own specific vision - each release will contain a rework from Osborn. If you are familiar with John's previous work you will immediately recognize his characteristic resonating percussion, the tune being a deep house sci-fi storm expedition driven by a full luscious kick covering the tracks of chords from unsettled pads. The EP's title track has ambient sonic rays flowing through it, being aptly named 'DIMENSIONS' - it is also the record's warmest adventure; distorted percussion juggles sparse subaqueous melodic moments, and from here we go into the 12s final moment, 'CHASING TITANOID". Reformed Society goes in with full yet silent force on this one. A warped bassline co-creates the groove with a particularly bouncy beat with sharp strings piercing though.

Out with old, in with the bold... Pets prepare us for a fresh new year start with an early-ears peak at what they have in store for 2017. It starts right here with a techno maestro who - thanks to a deep stash of thoroughbred beats on Soma, Hypercolour, Echocord and Kontra - shouldn't require much of an introduction: Roberto Clementi. Resident at Harmonized - one of Italy's finest underground club institutions - here we find Roberto analysing his role at its fullest flex: the range, versatility and subtlety and the almost important need to master all shades of the night: the ability to set the scene and prepare the countdown, knowing when to play the lead and knowing how to bring things home with respect to the dancefloor who make the party every single trip. It begins with 'Avesys' in every possible way: its dubby warmth, rippling rhythmic elements and patient percussive builds (all wrapped up with soft-but-stern insistency), don't just mark the perfect tone and timbre of an on-point take off set, but also trigger the whole full-spectrum, deep space EP concept. Scene setters don't come any clearer. 'Voschod' follows with a one-way trip into space as we explore the lesser-told half of the 60s space race and the Russian's second wave manned spacecraft trips. You can almost hear the countdown as the kicks rumble beneath you and you can definitely feel the fire power and low end thrust when the full track takes off. Peaktime Clementi; guaranteed lead-taking material. Maintaining the outer planetary sensation, 'Landing A Man' spins us into gravity-free stasis with an historic homage to Kennedy's ambition to land a man on the moon. Looping up the respected president with trippy, head-turning results he utilises a drum set so wide and cliff-like you can feel the earth's orbit and gravity drawing you back to terra firma with weight and confident firmness. Emanton (Dann Abala) is an Argentinian producer, electronic musician and thereminist. After studying with synth maestro Ernesto Romeo, Dann began producing under Emanton and also has an experimental alias as Turvia. Here we have what Emanton perfectly describes as "hard esoteric/mystical/ mega darkness sound". Four dark and pounding tracks with leanings toward industrial in uences and maintaining a consistently propulsive sound-design techno vibe. Carefully crafted with a diverse spread of analog gear/synths and modular instruments. Absolutely perfect example of the Transfusions aesthetic.

Beginning in the early '90s, Emmanuel Top became France's first techno superstar, even if his popularity was greater in countries like Germany and England than his own. He released a multitude of 12"s on the Attack label -- La Pipe a Eau, Krankenhaus, Ecsta-Deal, Stress, Turkish Bazar, and many more -- many of which are compiled on the triple-disc Release collection from 1995. Top's next step took him to Nova Mute alongside heavyweights like Plastikman. In addition to his solo work, Top also collaborated with Bruno Sanchioni and Bruno Quartier in the mid- to late '90s as the trance act B.B.E. ("Seven Days and One Week") and also as Age of Love (the original "Age of Love").

For his latest release, Top perks up on emerging Chilean label, Sienna Obscure. Helmed by producer Jeavan Vega, the label has already played host to some of techno's foremost players, with Steve Rachmad, Neil Landstrumm, Steve Stoll and Philippe Petit just some of those who've graced the label in recent times. Entitled the Redux EP, it sees Top deliver two exceptional originals, with remixes coming from none other than Hardfloor and Joey Beltram.

The release opens with the title track, 'Redux'. A slamming peak-time number full of tense atmosphere, it quickly unfurls into a track of gargantuan proportions. By the time the acid-led baseline plays out, it's drawn the listener in hook, line and sinker. The other original, 'Blitz', is no less manic. Again, the 909 plays a prominent role, this time alongside another cast of ominous, unrelenting beats.

Hardfloor then emerge with their remix of 'Redux'. A catchy monster that's made for peak time floors, its almost abrasive feel is matched only by its steely, industrial motifs. Although it deviates windily from the original, it's nonetheless a fitting tribute. Culminating the package is Joey Beltram, who (momentarily, at least) takes matters down a notch on his interpretation of 'Redux'. Beltram's history in techno circles needs no explaining, and this remix is ample proof that he's evidently in no mood to slow down any time soon. A raucous reworking, it closes the release in assured style.

A double album of dirty, raw, bone-grinding Techno from post apocalyptic survival times by Franziska Lantz released on Global Warming Records, London 2017 Loaded with heavy distortion, fat textures, harsh beats, relentless rhythms, moody synths and erratic melodies, this sound is bursting with rawness and urgency. Harness your speakers and dance!

Calling in the favors: Marcel Dettmann, Roman Flügel and Scuba under his SCB Inversion disguise, take apart songs and tracks from Tuff City Kids' debut album - Adoldesscent'. Dettmann, submisses to his new wave and em callings, keeps the song that is - Scared' intact, but mangles it into a fast-paced pogo piece, while Flügel uses his second take of - RMancer' (see the Happy Gerdy remix for reference) to push it into the K-Lauer abyss, before SCB Inversion tones down the rockism of - Nordo' and makes it inherently his own. To complete the picture, you get - Thorarium' by TCK themselves. A previously unreleased track that is basically a remix of a previously unreleased track. Haha!

Subosc is back with the second chapter of the "Organic Elements" series dedicated to Techno music characterized by refined ambient aesthetics. The EP includes contributions from Kessell (Polegroup, Granulart), Hiroaki Iizuka (known for his works on Coda Records, Nheoma and his appereance on Tresor), Drafted (Soma, Balans, MMaudio) and Ben Buitendijk (Field Records, Oblique, Mosaic).Although the tracks are clearly aimed for the dancefloor, they are also perfect for intimate listening, since the modeling approach used considers a balance between the sharpness and effectiveness of traditional techno elements with the mellowness of dreamy textures, pads and atmospheres. Inspiring, mind wandering, intense and analog souding are the most suitable adjectives to descrive these compositions, in which the mixture of influences from four minds blends in a unique outcome. A must have for all the collectors and lovers of modern techno with a soul attitude.

Jonny White's Art Department returns this March with his first solo EP in nearly 3 years, the first of a string of releases planned for 2018. The record features three inventive new tracks, including one produced in association with New York house pioneer Toddy Terry and vocalist Roland Clark. In no uncertain terms, this package re-asserts Art Department as one of contemporary house music's most essential voices.
White has continued to build on the early success of Art Department with solo works and high-profile collaborations in recent years. It is an alias that transcends genre, infused with elements of dub, acid, house and techno and is well informed by the past whilst always striding into future and unknown musical territory. This new release does this once more with three standout productions that are a further bold statement of intent.
First is 'Sour Jazz', a cut which intimately shows off White's originality in the studio, delivering a sublime production rooted in driving, weighty drums and twisted bass. Up top, pained synths bring a sense of real emotion to the groove and as things unfold, keys run down the face of the arrange- ment. Clever breakdowns build the tension and the palpable heat, sweat and intensely of being lost in a packed dancefloor oozes out of the track, flooding you with feeling.
The brilliantly bristling '721 (Queen St)' shows off White's ability to programme an essential and absorbing drum line: it is bouncy and big, elastic and lively, and cannot fail to get under your skin thanks to its instantly classic sound and old school flavour. The physical nature of those drums are offset with deft chords which dance up top and bring light to the track, while sax lines gently drift in and out for extra musical flavour.
And so to 'Roots Deep', a collaboration that spans the decades, back to the roots of house music with Todd Terry and Roland Clark. Reminiscent of earlier Art Department records with unforgettable hooks tied down with tough percussion, it is an immediately timeless anthem done as only this man can. Waves of synth and echoing vocal stabs set the stage, but it's when the famous 'in the beginning' vocal starts that hands will go skyward and the club will erupt. It brings a near religious edge and gospel feel to the track, whilst a standout bassline tumbles down the scales to finish things in robust style.
Once again here, Art Department combines a true understanding of dance-floor dynamics and house history with a unique sense of vision that ensures this is an EP packed with vital and inventive new sounds.

The tireless and titanic dance figure that is DJ T. is next up on Seth Troxler's essential Play It Say It label.

DJ T. has done it all in his long and storied career, from setting up one of the most influential labels in Get Physical to founding Groove Magazine via opening the Monza Club and, of course, serving up always inventive EPs and LPs on the best labels of the day. His sound has evolved through many house, disco and tech styles and has kept him an in-demand DJ for more than 25 years. These new missives are yet more proof that few know how to work the floor as well as DJ T.

The perfectly menacing 'Keep It Close' kicks things off with a dark, snaking bassline underpinning freaky synth stabs. The pressure builds throughout and will have the crowd locked in before it pulls back and builds again with a masterful grasp of mood.

Hitting much harder is the excellent 'The Day It All Started', a more physical house track with solid kicks is designed for maximum impact in the club. Tumbling bass and gurgling synth riffs flesh this one out and ensure it is a real piece of dynamite.

Last of all is the retro-tinged '1988', with its tightly programmed drums, slick claps and spraying acid line. It's a wild track to get the freaks out of the shadows and on to the 'floor.

This is a fresh EP that offers three very different but equally effective club tracks that are sure to blow up in the coming months.

The third (& final) instalment of DJ Deeon's unreleased and archival EP's is here! In the spirit of the previous 2 we've asked the man to dig into his tapes for those rare and raw cuts that the make the heads salivate! Kicking things off in fine style is Deeon's take on of 'Let it be house' from 1997, included here is a longer, unreleased mix of this absolutely banging near-cover version of Mike Dunn's perennial Chicago classic. This one is sure to do damage, a booming call to arms for the soldiers of house nation! Essential business. 'Exta-C' is up next, according to Deeon himself this is one he constantly gets asked about so it made sense for it to be back out there on the streets. Pure, unadulterated jacking zone material, funky as f*ck and unforgiving. A surefire winner in the dance! 'Kurokin Push' starts proceedings on side-b, a manic acid tinged killer with a bassline that oozes funk. Swinging in all the right ways this jam is destined to be big and sits nicely with all the other rare as hens teeth selections on the EP. Deeon fans will not be disappointed! Next up we have the infamous 'Boody Mover' from 1997, remastered straight offa the DAT! A sly nod to Jack Frost's acid classic 'Dap Me'. We felt this one sits nicely (no pun intended) in amongst the other cuts on this EP, some vintage ghetto DM sh*t right here, storming! 'if this don't make your booty move your booty must be dead'! Last, and certainly not least, we have Deeon's 'Low end theory' project from 1995 giving us 'Wicked', a demented acid track that tweaks in all the right places! A perfect finisher to this 5 cut monster of an EP showcasing one of the pioneers of this sound. All in all, a collection of essential jams for the freaks here, snooze ye not! Every track on here has been remastered and repressed with the full consent and involvement of DJ Deeon and Parris Mitchell, selected and programmed from Deeon's private archives and DAT tapes for Above Board, London. 100% hater free.

After his collaboration with Adam Beyer Joseph Capriati teams up with Flavio Folco for the second Redimension with a fully analogue production in the studio. A wide range of sounds taking you deeper into their idea of space, dimension and possible destinations. Joseph's creativity received a new drive from the collaboration with the emerging talent Flavio Folco whose musical roots range from Jazz to Hip Hop and Acid House. Their studio sessions in Barcelona and Flavio's openings sets at Capriati's shows gave both of them the chance to get to know each other on a deeper musical level which turned into an unexpected and dynamic EP.

For its 52th release, Be As One has picked the rising Italian talent Marco Faraone, with a 4 tracks EP, that showcases different takes of Marco's approach to Techno. The EP title track 'Restrictions' opens the 12 with a dark, fast-paced groove and hypnotic vocal, a real treat for the authentic Techno players. With 'Day 20 Marco ravels into the Dub Techno forest, with classic Dub elements that set the tone to a deeper mood. 'Voices From The Sea' follows up with a more festive approach, a big room anthem that keeps the dark vibe on the release. For the vinyl heads, an exclusive treat for the 12 its 'Early Morning", getting a due vinyl pressing after being featured exclusively on the 2013 live compilation by Shlomi Aber.

It's a rare moment in the life of Hood's M-Plant when he hands over to another producer, but no surprise that he should pick Mark Broom for the next release, seeing as he's previously been entrusted to provide edits of Hood's tracks for MPM19.

As part of M-Plant's 20th Anniversary, it's the perfect time for Robert Hood to re-visit one of his other decisive monikers, Monobox. As Robert Hood stated in his "Fireside Chat" for RBMA Radio: "Monobox was an alien project. I read this book when I was probably around 13 or 14. It was this ominous black box that came from some other universe, and it was just sort of hovering over the planet, over a cornfield somewhere. After maybe a few weeks it began to open up and objects and these creatures from another world began to emerge from this box. The whole thing about Monobox was that it was an alien life form. To approach minimalism from an alien futuristic perspective." (Click here to hear the rest of the interview With the 'Realm', 'Downtown' and 'Population' 12"s released on M-Plant between 1996 and 2001, followed by 'Molecule' for the French label, Logistic in 2003 it's been some time since Hood has delivered any new Monobox cuts but with M-Plant's 20 year celebrations well under way he re-introduces us with the tracks 'Film' and 'Rectangle'. The deep and melodious tones of 'Film' are beautifully offset by the tougher machine groove of 'Rectangle', with both tracks conveying the hypnotic minimalist approach of Hood's otherworldly Monobox sound.

Legendary Los Hermanos member Santiago Salazar's album 'Aspirations For Young Xol' is given a vinyl release courtesy of Rekids.

A heartfelt dedication to his son Isaias, 'Aspirations for Young Xol' takes us through the life of a pillar in the electronic music community - Santiago Salazar. From his formative years spent in California to his connection with Detroit and the passing of a childhood friend, the long-player's tracks signpost the musician's significant experiences, both positive and negative. This meaningful body of work was released digitally on Pastel Voids and now Rekids release the album on wax.

'Saturated Fear' sets a deep tone for the LP, flanging melodies and echoing claps float through the composition before the album's title track 'Aspirations for Young Xol' offers haunting arpeggios with occasional acidic overtones which are cleverly offset by beautifully designed lead synth transitions. 'Bloodlines' follows a similar musical vein with delayed bass riffs that are suspended above shimmering hihats and a weighted kick.

Santiago provides three beatless pieces throughout, which digress into more emotional territory whilst offering brief respite from his heavier drum work. 'Xol's Pain' combines orchestral strings and swelling synthesisers which build tension with a subtly complex, evolving motif. Both 'Dark Matter' and 'Ode to Stinson' use arresting atmospheres, warped arpeggios and ethereal pads which lull the listener into a retrospective mood.

An intensity builds in the later tracks, a gritty but powerful low end provides a solid foundation in 'Orange Blossom Thump', eventually making way for a hectic and elastic lead synth before 'Pachuco Dub' displays drones that build a dissonant pressure in which the complex tom rhythms and rolling hi hats can grow. Psyk kicks off with a tom based space out remix of Lucid. Heavy soundscapes and pads are layered over the fine rhythm of toms. Henning Baer takes care of Aporia with a weird metal loop kinda vibe and a straight forward beat rhythm to keep the speed.

TWR72 gave Colloquial a groovy treatment. With minimal, filtered and slightly oldskool elements they changed the original parts into a little killer. Talking about minimal, on the flipside ROD delivers greatness on Lucid with his cut and slide technique. Neznan closes the EP in style, because his style is impeccable. When you thought you ve heard it all, Neznan jumps in. An experimental take on Erudite is what you get. And like always, there are hidden messages in his music.

Since 2006, the Deep Heet series of recordings has shown the public an especially distinctive side of the production work of Planetary Assault Systems. With a unique 'engine room' ambience and a focus upon maintaining a continual surge of pure energy, each volume in the Deep Heet collection has lived up to that title, subtly suggesting the kind of sustained and voluntary temperature rise that has traditionally given way to spiritual or visionary experiences. Just check out tracks such as "Flat Tire" from Volume 3, with its hard percussive edge accompanied by a pervasive hiss like boiling matter changing into gas. P.A.S. helmsman Luke Slater also thinks highly enough of this series to re-work tracks like "Whistle Viper" in recent live sets, or to offer up others (e.g. "Raid") for remixing by Mote-Evolver allies.
It's only appropriate, then, that the 50th overall release on Mote-Evolver should also be the fourth overall volume of Deep Heet. In keeping with Slater's recent forward-thinking self-assessments like the "Planetary Funk" anniversary series, this is simultaneously a summary of past successes and another new evolution in style and content. This new set of four highly concentrated cuts shows how effective Planetary Assault Systems can be at fueling the imagination by fusing together rhythmic and incidental elements into a unified, animated meshwork, without even a prominent melody to help out. For example, on the compelling track "Lazer Organical," listeners will find themselves in the midst of a testing range where thick arcs of coherent plasma ricochet off of the walls.
Deep Heet Vol. 4 also showcases Slater's aptitude for choosing just the right moments to deviate from a steady groove: on the mesmerizing bubblebath of "Random Kingdom," he allows listeners to sink into the rising sonic foam before interjecting with some sharp metallic hits. The leadoff track "Desert Races" proceeds in similar fashion, weaving a web of luminous sequencer patterns around the listener before and cutting in with sudden fluctuations or distortions that function like a hypnotist's suggestions after an entranced patient has become fully responsive. "Life Rhythm," on the other hand, is a total immersion session in which Slater's presence seems to recede into the background and listeners themselves may begin imagining overtones and sonic ephemera that weren't programmed into the original track.

The Bielefeld based combo System of Ice is shaking the dancefloors with their raw and energyloaded analog live sets for a couple of years now. The more we're happy to announce an exclusive limited vinyl edition of their Drift EP on Nulectric Reords. In case of our second Vinyl-project, they delivered two synthiebased dancefloor tools which can be played in various speeds and situations. Drive and Cream are both tooly synthmonsters which are suitable for up- and downtempo purposes. Greyscale supports them with an even more clubdriven Techno remix as her very first release. While she went forward, Tension closes the EP with a contemporary reduced and broken dub edit of Drive .

Eric Estornel's Lone Romantic releases "Anomaly", the new EP of the veteran English-born, France-based producer Carl Finlow.
"Anomaly" is the 3rd instalment, following Estornel's Maceo Plex album "Solar" and the return of his Mariel Ito alias with the "2e Komst" EP, remarking the distinct sound of the label once again, while pushing a step forward at the same time.

With the relaunch of Mariel Ito, the electro and IDM alias of Estornel, that was active in the early 2000s with releases on Modern Love or SCSI-AV and that will see a retrospective album from that time on R&S Records, Lone Romantic is a new suitable platform for Carl's music. However, from the 90s until today, his vast catalog traverses through the most relevant labels out there such as Warp, Soma, Klang, SCSI-AV, Novamute, Satamile, Electrix and his own 2020 Vision.

"Anomaly' is a four-tracker showcasing classic electro schemes with ease. A frenetic mysticism and a meditative melancholy stand behind the most innovative trajectories of funk, within a mood much divergent than the usual conservative reverence towards the genre.

After last year's stellar EP on L.I.E.S. Records, veteran, Brooklyn-based producer and DJ Jake Reif (Savage Hymn, Upsetting Keys) continues to make waves with his Device Control brand. The first side of the new "EP2" begins with Silhouettes: a robotic, techno-funk work out with a nasty kick drum, swirling modular sounds and a Timothy Leary inspired vocoded vocal. An instrumental version has been included for selectors who prefer tracks to songs.

On the flip, Joystuck continues the aural assault with a slightly more stripped-back approach. Hard-hitting metallic percussion and screaming, alien-esque synth bleeps are all that's necessary here to decimate a dance-floor. Finally, Divisive rounds out the EP with a stomping vengeance, its jacking claps and dissonant harmonics have been carefully designed to deliver a sonic gut-punch, taking no prisoners when played on a club system.

J. Tijn embarks on the eleventh expedition into the exotic lands of palm trees and blue skies with the dark and gritty 'The Deluge' EP. Expedition eleven features four jams packed of heavy drum rhythms, moody synth lines and ambient soundscapes.

Alek S offers up another dose of pensive techno vibes in his "Paradise Lost" EP. Side A opens up with "Bold", a slice of laid back while still pounding techno, boasting zippy synths with an unmistakable analog flavour. It's closely followed by Andres Zacco's rework of "Honey Wheat", an apt reconstruction of the original that's aimed squarely at the dancefloor. The Argentinian producer and recent Ilian Tape alumni dives in with a powerful groove, cutting its way through a suspended atmosphere full of spaced out sounds.
Over on the B-side we're greeted with "Paradise Lost", a slow-paced melody that gradually shifts into a dreamy groove filled with spaced out drums and abstract delays.
Last but not least, the original version of "Honey Wheat" is a somewhat atmospheric, yet functional floor warmer that fits a resigned groove.

Back in 90's San Francisco; Scott, Gavin and Robbie Hardkiss helped pioneer the American Underground scene with their club nights, warehouse parties and groundbreaking record label. They forged a new direction for dance music with a string of vinyl releases by Hawke, God Within, Little Wing and Rabbit In The Moon, culminating in the seminal compilation Delusions Of Grandeur released in 1995. Delusions Of Grandeur made the Billboard Dance charts, went to #1 on the Rolling Stone Alternative Album chart and launched the international DJ/production careers of the Hardkiss brothers.

In 2018 to celebrate the 20th anniversary, the album was remastered and re-released with this new vinyl.

Clash Lion is a mix of three personalities; Shall Ocin, TERR and Daniel Watts. Three artists with different musical backgrounds merging forces to create a truly eclectic and open minded label. With an approach to release unique electronic music covering a multitude of genres from techno to retro electronica, their passion for innovative and experimental productions shows no boundaries.
The labels debut release 'Return' cannot be more aptly named, as it will be the first release from Maetrik aka Maceo Plex, breaking his 5-year hiatus under this moniker since his last EP 'Unleash The Beast' on Ellum.
Maetrik tantalizes us with this outstanding release. Deep and dark warping modulation, twisting upon a bellowing low end is accompanied by searing experimental riffs slithering throughout Cortex 11 - B
Ninex 7 - C has a low end drone of power, which builds slowing alongside a relentless hat before releasing into a mind bending synth pattern of pans and fluctuations. Synth depth reigns supreme as the weighty beat kicks into gear, completing a truly mesmerizing Maetrik 2 track production.
'Return' will be available on both digital and vinyl release on the 29th September. Whilst the label maybe fresh to the scene, they stand to showcase a string of superbly creative and unique releases in the months to follow.

About this release *First 10 tracks only come with the limited edition Nijmegen's ESHU welcomes co-founder Ivano Tetelepta for his first solo release on the label. It is also the imprint's first full length, but Tetelepta's second album after the hypnotic drum workout that was True Colours, his debut on Fear of Flying in 2012. It comes as a double vinyl release with the first disc being limited, and finds the producer casting himself free from the dance floor and serving up a beautifully atmospheric soundtrack that would be a perfect companion for a nature documentary. When making EPs and 12"s, Tetelepta's smooth and infectious drums are always front and centre in his work, whether solo or as producing with label mates under the ESHU alias. He's also worked with labels like Siena and KERING, but here he shows another side that focusses on short pieces, melody and blissful sound design. To give this album its perfectly warm analogue sound, the whole thing was recorded via cassette and revox tape. The first ten tracks are short, immersive musical worlds with poignant chords and glistening melodies. Some twinkle and shimmer, some sound like an underwater eco system coming to life, and others seem to come from deepest space where solar winds and sonar pulses pass you by. It's cinematic and evocative stuff that takes you away from the here and now and into a different realm. The four tracks on disc two then start with Senang, a suspensory and multi-layered piece of music that has keys, modulations and samples wrapping all around you before Whistle Of Patience has a supple minimal drum line that slowly gets under your skin. Ede 2 Nijmegen is then a turbulent dub track which builds a darker mood before closer De Test sinks back into supple, rubbery and warm drums laced up with hypnotic pads that circle all around. This is an ambitious album of meditative music that offers a beautiful place to lose your mind.

Though still very young at years, their hardware only livesets are already legendary in their hometown Berlin as well as selected stops throughout Europe.

Kvest is a DJ/producer from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who has previously released only digital EP's. Now, his first vinyl release comes in a form of pure minimal deep techno sound.

This EP includes 2 original mixes in which the synth sounds are diffused through light movement and gentle variation, as well as two awesome remixes.

One of the remixes is by a young dutch producer Kevin Arnemann, who runs his own label Taped Artifact, and has performed in big techno festivals such as ADE and Awakenings. Another remix comes from the owner of Kin-Ben LABEL, The Human & Assets. This is the 7th vinyl release on the label.

Repitch Recordings' new release is one of a kind. Attesting to the greatness of Belgian industrial techno pioneer Hypnoskull's album 'ffwd>burnout', the label has compiled a fresh selection from the 1999 milestone and now pressed it for the first time on vinyl. The aim is to introduce its grinding breakbeats, its blasting hyperbolic groove, and ferocious disturbance to a new generation, championing an undying enthusiasm for heavy and deconstructed club sounds. Moreover, the EP comes with an exclusive remix by Birmingham Master Surgeon, whose own militancy in hard-edged techno has contributed to his legendary status, reuniting a different yet somewhat similar vision of dancefloor experimentation. It also includes an updated version of Hypnoskull's manifesto, renewing his methods of cultural resistance.

On the A side BFTT and Lack follow on from their debut release on the fifth Cong Burn Tape. BFTT crafts a peak time sub heavy techno weapon which beautifully collapses in on itself before its final ascent. Lack layers polyrhthmic splashes of Shackleton-esque percussion over dubbed out bass growls. Flip it over and you've got Chekov following up his ace debut on Shanti Celeste's Peach Discs with electro 808 patterns and swells of low end weight. Howes lowers the tempo with a low key bubbler that further explores the texture's laid out on Cong Burn's first 12".

Guttural, pained screams from beyond converge with mangled corrosive rhythms on the sophomore EP from DiNT for Horo. 'Hooker' convenes an impromptu post punk band out of undead skeletal pulses and spits a frustrated barb to anyone in earshot. 'Shovel' slams nails in relentlessly with an excruciating vocal refrain grinding over the band of zombies undulating bass riff, decaying as it loops. 'Skewer' drags the undead to the dance-floor with a primitive rhythm that rises and ducks, wringing out the intensity with macabre vocal commands reaching through a wall of distortion.

On remix duties, Ontal turn Shovel into a peak time industrial techno weapon, while ANFS grinds Skewer into a jagged amen experiment, and Codex Empire fuses Shovel and Skewer into an anthemic sludge. Oake wraps up the experience by taking Hooker into another realm, convening another band of tortured souls stuck in purgatory, wrecking the rhythms with adrenaline-fuelled pitch black energy.

Spencer Parker concludes his 'Different Shapes And Sizes' series with a pair of robust house numbers this April.
Parker conceived the series as a method of showcasing his love for different shades of house and techno and the final edition sees the Work Them Records
founder demonstrate his versatility once again.
Part Three initiates with a thumping dancefloor workout titled 'Riff Shapes' that incorporates an uplifting chord sequence and crunchy percussion. On the flip, 'Size:YES' sees a throbbing lowend join skipping drums as rave inspired stabs add to the track's commanding energy.

Marking the last Crosstown Rebels release of the Summer, Yousef steps into the spotlight with the compelling Vanity featuring entrancing vocals from The Angel. Heavyweight remixes courtesy of Carl Cox, and Bontan complete the package.

Though my family is not Cuban, Cuban music has been a huge part of my musical development as a musician. The track uses traditional Cuban rumba rhythms (Guaguanco) to trigger synths and percussion samples alike to create a dense polyrhythmic cushion for the track to sit on."

Lagaffe Tales co-founder Jónbjörn drops four tracks on Iceland's FALK Records beat driven sub-label, FALK DISKS.

Since 2008 FALK (Fuck Art Lets Kill) has become a creative hub for Icelandic and international artists involved in experimental and electronic music, spanning noise rock through to power electronics, underground hip-hop to DIY techno and electro. 2017 saw FALK continue with releases from Icelandic hip-hop producer LORD PUSSWHIP, techno/electro producer ThizOne and Canadian industrial techno musician //HUREN//. Berlin based Icelandic producer Jónbjörn, known for curating Reykjavík record label Lagaffe Tales - one of the main pillars in the Icelandic house scene - now joins FALKS' club focused sub-imprint with a robust four tracker.

Moving away from the deep house sound he's renowned for towards a darker and leaner night time aesthetic, 'Amsiak' inaugurates the release with an infectious electro groove as gurgling pings and acidic clangs and drones are liberally dropped throughout the track. 'Aspekte' is a spacious track with blown-out bass sounds that morph and glide across a tempered, slow burning planar rhythm.

On the flip, Jónbjörn goes for a harder techno sound influenced by his relocation to Berlin. 'Sunnudagskaffi' is a bendy, 4/4 roller that contains hidden grooves below the basslines and the acid pings that wouldn't be out of place on a Livity Sound release. Meanwhile, 'Holy B' is pure warehouse creeper techno, complete with machinic tones and the atmospherics of sweat and grime on dungeon brick walls.

The historical Power Electronic founders duo remixed by two of the infamous artists of this new industrial/noise scene. Parrish Smith, also know as Sige Bythos and Volition Immanent, already appeared on labels as Nation, Contort Yourself and Knekelhuis, made a smashing track, slow and heavy, distorted and electrically powered.Black Seed, already appeared on DTLS SND and Sign Bit Zero signed a syncopated track, with tribal influences and bouncing sounds that will turn your brain into a whirpool.

Ursa's Reef is a late 80's traveller and surfer wandering endlessly in the secluded raves of Goa, searching for his own soul while dancing in abandon to the proto-Trance journeys of Goa Gil. Brought up in Sintra, Portugal, by a family of uptight catholic hypocrites, UR goes rogue in his early 20's, seduced by the esoteric teachings of Levi, Pessoa, Crowley and Israel Regardie while keeping an unhealthy obsession with Roxy Music. He is also a fictional, made up persona - a musical heteronym - of Lisbon-based DJ and producer Marco Rodrigues, mostly known for his work under the name Photonz. Together with his friend Jose Acid - a musical heteronym of Joao Ervedosa AKA Shcuro - he makes one last trip to Goa that could prove fatal.

Finally the long-awaited second series of 'Invisible Family' outings has arrived. Label boss and compiler GK Machine has this to say: 'Beyond ecstatic to get these tracks out. The Gazeebo track I've been playing in my sets for years. Digital only but SO great it definitely needed to get pressed onto wax!! I would DJ with it using Ableton and speed it up a lot so for the vinyl I asked Jon (Nedza) who I've been a huge fan of since his Community Recordings releases on Grayhound and Imperial Dub, whether he could speed it up a little bit before we pressed it up. Now it's 100% perfect: a Moroder-esque cosmic stomper that's sure to set any dancefloor alight. The Apiento track is another one that's been gestating for a long time...first appearing around the time the original "E.S.P." 12' appeared on the wonderful Golf Channel Recordings in 2014. Secret Circuit gave it a complete overhaul, in fact several complete overhauls, plus some of his signature guitar and has turned the already blissful track into an afro-esque, trippy, beautiful, beautiful piece of music that (IMO) is one of his best yet. Utterly gorgeous!!
Then there's the boy-girl retro-future duo Der Kundalini coming from the wonderful Lectric Sands stable in NY who gave us Zoovox. This one's also been hiding on my hard drive way too long! Finally relative newcomers Konzel (of Junto Club/Optimo Music fame) & Natural Sugars (Pardon My French) round off the package just perfectly. The former so distinct that I felt it was a perfect opener for the A side. So, I hope you dig it...and keep an eye out for the super limited 12-track cassette too!!!'

Faltin's 'Phobos' is a stripped down analogue masterclass. Rolling and snaking, its arpeggiated lead growls with a hot headed tension, climbing while never losing balance and poise.
The 'Gowentgone Stepper' translates the original into a heavyweight, early-morning trip - a certain hybrid of broken beats and techno attitude that melts between genres. Waves of euphoria are carried by rumbling drums in this essential version.

Here comes the the Hamburg based duo Fallbeil with two brilliantly aggressive tracks filling each side with mutated acid face melt. With numerous scary records on Return To Disorder, New York Haunted, and Mannequin, among other labels, these maniacs have been burning a path of over carnage the last two years and this release signals they have no intention of softening up. They aren't going limp. They can go all night in hell, hell with a lower-case H.

Toby Tobias has a lengthy history of disturbing the peace. This is his second offering for the ESP Institute. On side A, Second Stimulus stirs shimmering staccato chords, roaming pipes and detuned robotic sighs into quite the disorienting stew—the loose arrangement remaining fragmented over 9 minutes of touch-and-go 808 programming, picking up a pseudo bassline assembled from sub toms, introducing a gritty break loop and eventually blissing out into oblivion. With side B's Synchro Surfer, Toby plays with the notion of suspense by gently teasing a muted kick and percussion rhythm under washes of white noise, bleeps and sirens that are tape-dubbed and which, over time, begin a dialogue with each other, as if the machines have declared mutiny on the garage. Toby continues to stretch his limits with his output for the ESP Institute, possibly headed toward a full-fledged devolution of conventional dance music. These two songs may have you arrested for public nuisance.

"Heavy Baggage" has its militant techno-stomp interlaced with a selection of dusty breakbeats, while the slower "I Am Not Beautiful" begins somewhat subdued with muffled breakbeats, before turning nasty with a 4/4 kick and a sub-bass of obviously malicious intent.

Repeated transformative visits to Ibiza culminated in landing regular slots at Circoloco where they have been testing this tune in the dance all Summer long.

'Universal Rhythm', their latest interstellar dispatch and debut on R&S is their finest work to date. An anthemic paean to the cosmos that features an impassioned spoken word missive from shamanistic MC Shovell, impressively recorded in a single take, making the case for the universality of experience and oneness of all beings.

Latin rhythms fuse with a driving Fender Rhodes lick (provided by JD73) and percolating cow bells to hypnotic effect. This calls to mind a combination of classic Carl Craig and Villalobos at his most playful. R&S new signing The Maghreban supplies a killer dubbed out take on the original that strips away the heavy kicks and pumps up the percussion, hurtling the synth pads to the fore that comes on like John Carpenter peaking on MDMA.

Dan Curtin's musical quest began amidst the inception of the techno and house phenomenon of the early 1990s. From his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, Dan experimented with a vast number of styles, producing innovative sounds of every variety, from Chicago to Detroit to the East Coast. Dan's impressive discography dates back to 1992 when his first releases on Detroit's 33RPM Records and Belgium's Buzz motivated him to launch his own Metamorphic Recordings. A continuous stream of releases also followed on big players like Peacefrog, Strictly Rhythm, Sublime and Soma. In 2003 Dan decided to focus on a funkier production sound, while his creative instincts provoked him to make a change to the more fast-paced music scene of Berlin. This move soon triggered a string of new releases on labels such as Bass Culture, Holic Trax and Saved. Over 70 singles and 9 albums later, Dan is just as innovative as ever whether recording under his own name or one of his many aliases such as Purveyors of Fine Funk. Dan's prolific output shows no sign of abating and he recently announced the re-launch of Metamorphic, maintaining its vinyl focus while also making many of its releases available digitally for the first time.

The 'Galaxies Merging EP' opens with the title track and as it would suggest we get Curtin in sci-fi techno mode, with trampling beats and dappled synth work. 'Mind Sweep' continues the techno theme, but this time it's high-tech funk with a deeper and soulful undercurrent, while the unpredictable, late-night workout 'To Modify' closes the EP with a bold wash of erratic electronics. As a whole, the EP offers a snapshot of the diverse elements of Curtin's estimable production skills.

Guttural, pained screams from beyond converge with mangled corrosive rhythms on the sophomore EP from DiNT for Horo. 'Hooker' convenes an impromptu post punk band out of undead skeletal pulses and spits a frustrated barb to anyone in earshot. 'Shovel' slams nails in relentlessly with an excruciating vocal refrain grinding over the band of zombies undulating bass riff, decaying as it loops. 'Skewer' drags the undead to the dance-floor with a primitive rhythm that rises and ducks, wringing out the intensity with macabre vocal commands reaching through a wall of distortion.

The next Bedrock release is the result of a collaborative project of the highest order from three of the scene's most respected creative mavericks - Gabriel Ananda, John Digweed and Nick Muir.

When it comes to the music of Miajica, there is always a variety of influences, shameless sampling and me- lodic patterns involved that touches our hearts. His love for records is a never ending story and this makes him a fantastic DJ and selector. Miajica's passion for the extraordinary is what made us at Light of Other Days fall in love with his music when we first met him several years ago.

Miajica might mostly be known for his work with Alma Negra but he is a prolific producer of his own and had some amazing releases in recent months. He also just launched the label Fleeting Wax with Mehmet Aslan - which is already getting some great attention in the balearic scene all over the world.

Miajica's first EP on Light of Other Days «Drive Down» was created from some of his recent and most striking influences: «Breathing Again» indicates the feeling after he stopped smoking and discovered this whole new world of intense emotions and sensual experiences. «L'Ae´roport» was created in one of those lost moments when you're overtired at the airport and have to wait to board another delayed flight to your next destination while the third track «Mediterraneo» is an uplifting homage to his heritage and roots in Spain.

Our leader unveils yet another facet of his production arsenal, this time turning a housey cheek, courtesy of sa ensual, yet chopped-to-bits vocal. The jacking rhythm section skips along in pure style, keeping the tight bassline in check while frantic edits help 'I Need You' to fully unfold.

Stefano Noferini nods to the old school in this double outing, and 'Furios' blasts out with a nostalgic bassline and intense beeping action over a crackling rhythm section. The title track goes for more heady territory with a hypnotizing vocal seeping in and out of the cracks, while the trademarked Noferini groove keeps the bubbling subs in check.

The undisputed groove don, DJ PP, graces 1605 with 'Revolver' Amo & Navas beef things up even more with their crunchy rhythm section, and opt for a dubbier vibe with their trademarked stomping groove and spacious, low-end percussive magic.

DJ Fronter leads us into another bouncy ride with the percussion-led 'Cntrl And Next' taking the lead and rolling out into action.

Amsterdam based artist and creative technologist Andeh Lang is back on Will & Ink. After debuting on this label in August 2016 with an uncredited black label, he now serves up three more tracks that show off his interest in shaping and sculpting sounds for the main imprint. All these tracks were created with his own custom made software and self-programmed audio algorithms. Three experimental techno excursions that go by the name of 'Susskind' showcase a wide variety of deserted techno landscaping by a creative mastermind.

World Unknown and Theo Nasa first crossed paths in Andres Branco's vintage designer clothes emporium, Wavey Garms. The conversation started with rare Moschino coats and then led to Mr Nasa's music and the fact that Richie Hawtin had just jumped on one of his digital releases. We're really chuffed to be releasing Theo's vinyl debut. It's a pounding big room monster inspired by his first experiences of a certain Berlin nightclub. Theo Nasa will be a big deal sometime soon, there's no doubt about that. Make sure you get on this now so you can tell all your mates how you have been into him for ages.

TCMF with isti.f can transform your body with laser beams and bass. 'We Are The Almost People' is just weird enough to rock you out of your seat so you can get up and jam.

Hailing from outer space via Reykjavik, Volruptus maps out intergalactic forms of communication on 'Alien Transmissions', the latest release from Bjarki and Johnny Chrome Silver's inimitable bbbbbb records.
Title track is a disorienting dose of acid powered electropunkfunk whilst 'Jargon' uses complex polyrhythms to propel a grinding techno stomper. 'Gett Vffreakye' uses percussive breaks and mechanised vocal chops to depict aliens having a live jam in outer space, whilst closing track 'Tesseract' is an angular drum workout featuring animated bass and dissonant pad calls.
Like each bbbbbb release before it, Volruptus presents an intoxicating EP that pairs impeccable sound design with an unruly approach to genre, form and style.

Brainchild of two passionate and likeminded artists, A Sacred Geometry was born as a platform to illustrate techno as a narrative, forgoing the strictly dancefloor nature of the medium. Influences from noise, ambient and new wave coupled with their graphic identity play a crucial role in how the music is perceived, as the journey continues with each new cover art.

As the tale begins with 'Atiya', audiences experience a cacophony of slow building acid-like synths which help propel the element of mystification to the forefront of the track. 'City of Ys' continues this trend with an enigmatic voice-like tone that glides the listener through the track. The distinct inclusion of brass samples add to the melancholic atmosphere slowly ushering the listener into a dream-like consciousness. 'Maroush (Dub Edit)' takes on a different attitude, as deep ambient atmospheres prevail with Eastern inspired string instruments induce feelings of escapism.

One can be expected to continue on this journey, as this is only Chapter I of the chronicle, A Sacred Geometry will develop and evolve as the story continues to unfold.
