For the timely tenth edition of the Grey Series, M_Rec LTD welcomes back Donor / Truss to the fold. Whilst Tom Russell has been lately flexing his Truss muscles with Perc and causing a furore as Blacknecks with Bleaching Agent, Donor's Greg Schappert has been busy readying his dystopic debut album, Against All. After last year's swampy Aber for their first Grey Series outing, Ash sees the production partnership revived in the form of a trio of gritty, excursive techno works. Starting with cut one on the A-side, Ash simultaneously builds and decomposes, eked along with hypnotic loops and irritated layers of noise to conclude in a creaking industrial crescendo on the B-side.

An EP done by Ukrainian producer "Myztical" accompanied by Paul Birken remix. Experimenting in offbeat techno as well as delivering straightforward techno bangers, this EP should fit well in every techno heads vinyl collection. Inspired by Frank Herbert's Dune' universe and it's derivatives, this is fantasy about space and interstellar travels, fame and power, love and treachery, yet another untold story - thousand years ahead in very distant future, but pretty much inspired by our own life itself.

Charlton is one of the first persons who joined the TH society. He is a part of us and we are a part of him. Out of control is the only appropriate phraseto describe this Rotterdamer. His Ep on TH comes with three manic andnoisy tracks and an autistic Remix from label owner Hana.

After putting out three excellent mixtapes (from Andrew Lyster, Leif & Joe Ellis and Nick Craddock respectively), Collapsing Market are now ready to release their first record. Eszaid (aka Louis Vial, one half of Mura Oka) inaugurates the imprint with four foreboding & gloomy trips that traverse through techno's darker shades into haunting ambient. Louis Vial merges slow drum patterns with foggy textures and sparse arrangements, reminiscent of early Kassem Mosse material. This is an incredibly affecting and mature first EP from the young producer who launches the label in the best way possible... And look out for the thoughtful artwork including a beautiful OBI strip and reflective silver sleeve!

All of the tracks in this EP were created by the Roland Rhythm Composer TR-707. The recordings were captured "LIVE" using a combination of analog and digital equipment.
All manipulations and pattern changes were generated by hand.
Several outputs were re-routed through an effects pedal, equalizer, and various reverb rack-mount devices. The main outs had a treatment of a send/return through the "DigiTech 256XL" altering the overall foundation and rhythms for the title track "Rhythm Composer".
The tracks "SHIFT PATTERN" and "Major TOM" were routed through a Pioneer DJM-3000 mixer utilizing the effects and minor send/return from the DOD FX90 Delay.
No computers were "harmed" during this production,)

'Mutex' stands for 'Mutual Exceptions' - the basic idea behind all the releases on Mutex Recordings. Exploit, Seph and Unbalance showcase their vision of that out-of-the-way sound where splendid deep house vibes turn into earnest loopy techno.

The composer and sculptor Aaron Taylor Kuffner is well known for co-creating the Gamelatron project in 2008, the world's first fully robotic gamelan orchestra.
His one-of-a-kind creation has been shown in major venues and festivals worldwide, ranging from the Smithsonian to Fuji Rock, and at galleries and festivals across Asia, Europe, Russia and North America.

In 1997, Kuffner created another musical project, Zemi17. Zemi means cicada in Japanese and the 17 references the 17-year lifecycle of the periodical cicadas found in the northeast of the United States. The success of the Gamelatron Project put Zemi17 on indefinite hiatus until The Bunker dug out one of Kuffer's last surround sound live sets from Unsound New York in 2012 and asked him for a 12' of that material.

The Bunker is proud to release 'Impressions' and 'Rangda,' two long and seductive tracks made entirely of sounds of insects, birds, motors and urban noises spliced together with treated samples of gongs and metallophones to create lush techno compositions. It is hard to tell if this release is going to be a new beginning for Zemi17 or an homage to a wildly interesting music character who has been a part of The Bunker community from its early days at subTonic. Either way, these tracks are as beautiful as they are original.

Kuffner has been a a prolific producer of underground and outlaw events in New York since the 90's: as a cofounder of the Ransom Corp, a member of the Blackkat Sound System, Havoc Soundsystem, and Amoeba Technology, he also frequently worked with Complacent Nation. In 2002, he moved to Berlin to produce a multimedia art festival and compose for an experimental theater group, before moving even further afield to Indonesia and immersing himself in the study of gamelan.

Kuffner returned to New York in 2007, joining influential outlaw event crew The Danger as a resident DJ. He began producing music made entirely of samples he had gathered in Indonesia, re-imagined into hypnotic techno masterpieces. Alongside Dok Gregory, he amassed a large sound system that they set up in the front room of The Bunker at Public Assembly for years. Taylor also collaborated with Kevin Balktick to produce the ambient music series 'Auditorium,' taught Ableton Live at DubSpot and performed on MIDI breath controllers with the trio Zero Gravity Thinkers.

Und genau darum dreht sich auch Verbalizer, das nun erscheinende Album von Anthony Rother, auf seinem neuen Label Nextdata.

Der Club als abstrakter Raum. Es geht um das Loslassen. Menschen machen sich frei, begegnen einander
und die Musik wird zum gemeinsamen Taktgeber.

Irgendwann nennt Rother diesen Prozess - die Dramaturgie der Ekstase', kann sich dabei aber das Grinsen
nicht verkneifen. - Die Leute sollen mit Verbalizer einfach ihren Spaß haben. Ich stand im Club und fühlte
plötzlich den Sound für dieses Album.

Verbalizer treibt im Raum nach vorn, ohne ins Intellektuelle abzugleiten. Es ist die Geschichte, der Augenblick und das anbrechende Abenteuer einer tanzenden Gesellschaft, irgendwo auf dieser Welt.
- Ich war auf der Suche nach einem expandierenden Klang. Dabei war wichtig, wie ich diesen Sound den Synthesizern in meinem Studio entlocke, so dass dabei eine Kraft entsteht, die alles Weltliche und den Alltag beiseite zu drücken vermag', erklärt Rother den hedonistischen Ansatz von Verbalizer.

Club-Tracks wie diese kommen ihrem Wesen nach ohne erzählerische Inhalte aus. Dennoch sorgen sie
beim Hörer für das Durchleben - oder besser für das Durchtanzen - ihrer ganz eigenen Geschichte. - Einige meiner vorherigen Alben haben ein komplex durchdachtes Konzept. Verbalizer wechselt
dagegen vollkommen die Perspektive: Der Inhalt und was sich aus dem Album ergibt liegt im Körperlichen, dem unaussprechlichen.'
Um es also kurz zu machen: Verbalizer - um zu verstehen, sollte
man das Album feiern.

After his first release on Bristol's Idle Hands, Parris continues his saga with a release drenched in bass. Skeletal goes back to the Skull Disco days of Shackleton, and brings abstraction and bass heaviness to the next level. Bloom finds Parris experimenting with African polyrhythms and melodies mixed with some classic sparse early Grime arrangements. One of the heaviest and more minimal tunes of this release is South East Of The Mountain, where he takes the vibe of the classic sound of FWD nights to create something brand new. This tune could only have been made in
London.

Konrad Wehrmeister, known from previous releases on SVS Records / Durr / Paradise Now!, an upcoming release on Public Possessionis, and part of the Günther Lause duo is joining forces with Jakob Hohman for a project called Twoman. Their first offer of this new promising collaboration collides Jungle Grooves with Techno.

Armando Gallop, the legendary Chicago producer & DJ whose career was tragically cut short by his death in 1996 left behind a legendary reputation as one of the windy city's finest. Having released on seminal labels such as; Trax, Musique, Westbrook and his own Warehouse imprint, Armando brought his own rough hewn brand of machine Funk and acid to the table and the dance music world has been much better off for it since.

"The New World Order Level 3" is a collection of Armando's tracks running through various styles and sounds; Acid, Disco infected bangers, crazy Chi-town jack tracks and much more. Dutch label Field is ready to complete its recent trilogy of album projects. Following double albums by L'estasi Dell'oro and D.A.R.F.D.H.S., now comes The Information Is Coming From The Server, a debut album from Kartei, aka Crysta Patterson and Voiski. Kartei have hooked up only once before, putting out a well received 12" on Wille Burns' W.T. Records back in 2011. That was Patterson's only project to date, but Voiski has been active for years, working under a number of aliases and releasing on labels like Field, L.I.E.S. and Syncrophone. The duo started their cyber technopop act in 2007, performing contextual actions on more alternative scenes. Their working ethos is based on collecting data from the internet to create new material. Data and songs are preserved into their server systematically. The album they serve up here is a condensed compilation of their archive, which can be described as clean and melodic, subtly uplifting and calls on classic techno as well as plenty of futuristic ideals. Grooves are quick and slick, synths are well crafted and emotive and everything is underpinned by a motor kick that powers the album along. Tracks like the bubbly 'Sunset' make for moments of calmer reflection between more trip out kickers like 'Kartei gets Fat'. New wave vocals and sombre chords, bleepy melodies and celestial pads also feature throughout this album, and all in all adds up to a terrifically journeying album of fresh electronic sounds.

In the immemorial words of ABBA, when all is said and done, you still get epic throbbing stabby techno from Skudge, deep hectic madness from MRSK, classy lush slow mo acid from TM404 and cavernous acid house from the Frak camp, a testimony to the scene we so believe in!

London's Babyfather are back with the debut full length follow up to the street classic 'Meditation'. "BBF" Hosted By DJ Escrow. Still early on in theirASCENT, Manchester's Project 13 are a label who have so far been defined by an experimental approach to club music and a cold, unforgiving aesthetic that's remained suffused with a certain UK quality.

With previous releases coming from their tight-knit group of core artists including Acre, Divided and Szare they now ready their 4th record - a 12' marking the return of Divided for his second outing on Project 13.

Having provided 002 on the label and also releasing on Resin back in 2014, Divided now introduces his Black Swallower / Interzone EP - a brash and daring hybrid melding Grime and Techno with that same UK tinge as its predecessors.

'Black Swallower' kicks things off with a vicious snare and a wide, heavy kick set to a stepping rhythm. Metallic synth tones hack their way through the mix before 'Interzone' sets rough, tumbling drums under lively, circling tones that add further weight and substance to the Project 13 catalogue.

Beau Wanzer (L.I.E.S, Nation, Mutant Beat Dance) and Dan Jugel are Juzer. Strong 90's Techno heritage on this stone-cold killer E.P for Anthony Parasole's The Corner.

'Utility' is the stunning longplayer by Livity Sound co-founder Kowton, a debut album release for both the artist and the label. Combining the powerful reductionism of classic Detroit techno with the inventiveness and originality of the Bristol sound, Kowton has produced a body of work that will no doubt be looked back upon as a landmark UK techno album.
* While his trademark hypnotic rhythms, dramatic transitions and chest-rattling bass are all present and correct throughout, 'Utility' is more than just a collection of club tracks. Here Kowton has distilled both his influences and experience to create an immersive journey that twists and turns, encompassing not only weapons-grade 4/4 techno, but also geometric minimalism, deep abstract dance and skeletal, grime-influenced ambience.
* "The name 'Utility' came from a series of conversations I had in the build up to finishing the record, what feels most prescient to me right now is writing concise music with purpose and direction - visceral music that's uncluttered both sonically and theoretically', explains Kowton. I wanted to create an LP that works on the floor but is nuanced enough to justify repeat listens and self-aware enough to sit properly as a complete album.'
* From the opening bars of Comments Off', we're straight into the fray: the booming bass and intricate staccato rhythms coaxing the listener into a tunnel of repetition only ruptured by bursts of sub-bass. This sets the tone: each track on 'Utility' is comprised of very few elements, but it's what Kowton does with them that makes it such an engaging listen. Take the Sahko-indebted bleeps of Balance', for example, as Kowton layers them into a cerebral ping-pong before unleashing its brazen percussive chassis.
* Following the immersive 'Scido' and pummeling 'Sleep Chamber' the tempo drops for mid-album centrepiece 'Some Cats', which writhes on a slippery arpeggio providing brief respite. Things kick back up a gear with the disarmingly stark and simple minimalism of 'Loops 1', segueing perfectly into the frenetic polyrhythms of 'Bubbling Under'. 'A Bluish Shadow's spaciousness is the final calm before the storm of album closer 'Shots Fired' where hints of bitter sweet melody meld with stattacto subbass and disorientating arpeggios.
* 'Utility' may be Kowton's debut LP, but he's definitely no newcomer. Over the years he's accumulated sonic influences and geographical bases that span way beyond Bristol and its associated categorisations, eventually leading him to Peckham in South East London, where he now resides. Born in the relative isolation of Grasmere in the Lake District, Kowton's early musical education depended greatly on late 90's print magazines like Jockey Slut and Muziq and the blistering techno favoured by the local rave community.
* In the late 90's the way we consumed music in the Lakes was incredibly different to anything that happens now. We'd buy to tape-packs from Eastern Bloc in Manchester, or loan Metalheadz and Moving Shadow CD's from the local library. There were the monthly magazines and people's older brothers but our knowledge of scenes as a whole was patchy. As we got older there were always quarry raves going on but the music there was hard techno and if we ever got a warm-up slot it wouldn't last long.'
* Kowton studied at music college in Manchester from 2003 to 2007. Heavily influenced by the staff at Pelican Neck Records (Boomkat's old physical shop) he became aware of seminal European techno artists like Basic Channel, Monolake and Mika Vainio. A period of record buying obsession coincided with the golden era of Grime and Dubstep and soon Kowton's attentions were concentrated on the stream of new 12's coming from labels like Tectonic, DMZ and Tempa. This combination of low end pressure and European repetition has come to define Kowton's sound.
* In 2008 he moved to Bristol, co-inciding with a change musical direction, as the city, and the UK underground as a whole, began to once more embrace house and techno. An integral part of the team behind the newly minted Idle Hands record shop, it was their accompanying record label that allowed him to explore the possibilities of the darker end of dance music. The series of 12's Kowton released for the label drew comparisons with German wizard Kassem Mosse, known primarily for his ability to employ obtuse rhythms in a manner that still kept the dance floor bubbling.
* Around the same time, Bristol luminary Peverelist began sharing ideas and collaborating in the studio with Kowton, the pair eventually linking with Asusu to form Livity Sound: a label and collective intent on creating no nonsense dance music with an emphasis on pared down rhythms and classic sound system approaches. The critically lauded opening salvo of releases the label put out culminated in the accolades of Resident Advisor's #1 Label Of The Year and #2 Compilation Of The Year for 'Livity Sound'. The trio subsequently assembled a powerful live hardware set-up, using improvisation and dub effects to meld their music together into a thrillingly raw, unbroken whole.
* Over the course of the last five years, Livity Sound have cultivated a reputation for releasing some of the most exciting and visceral UK dance music of recent times, placing Kowton's grime-infused techno alongside Pev's exquisitely balanced rhythm science and Asusu's atmospheric, percussive club tracks. Resident Advisor called the label's output some of the most inventive dance tracks in recent memory', with the trio at the forefront of a new wave of UK techno that's as much about pushing originality, experimentation and futurism as it is about club functionality.
* Starting to work with Pev and Asusu on the Livity Sound project did a lot to edify for myself how I felt about dance music: I'd felt a little dislocated previously, writing moody techno but playing things like Theo Parrish and Soundstream records. With Livity Sound - and particularly the live show - we were just playing music we'd written and it felt so satisfying. We hadn't invented a sound but we'd definitely cemented our own take on techno. It's changed the way I write tunes and DJ significantly.'
* As a solo artist Kowton has been equally busy: a stellar run of brutalist, grime-infused bangers ('Des Bisous', 'TFB' and 'H-Street') pricked up the ears of many leading DJs, he's remixed Paul Woolford's classic 'Erotic Discourse', collaborated with the much hyped house producer Julio Bashmore on their murky Ekranoplan project and released on Hessle Audio, All Caps, Hemlock, Ilian Tape, Hotflush and R&S. More recent additions to his catalogue - such as the synth trill tension of 'Glock & Roll' and the stratospherically euphoric pads of Peverelist collaboration 'End Point' - have highlighted the more playful and melodic elements of his sound while still imbued with a heavily immersive atmosphere.
* There's been many facets to Kowton's musical evolution, the constant feature throughout though has been a focus on effective, strpped back, raw tracks that reduce dance music to its essence and in doing so give the form new life and energy. Simple utility done well.

After putting out a string of brilliant singles and EP's in the past few years, Slavaki is up with his first
artist album.
It's hard to believe it's taken him 7 years since the first release, to come up with the idea of releasing
a ''full-length''. No wonder, tracks have gotten time-tested, and have been carefully selected out of
over 10 continuous hours of material written in the period between the year 2011 and 2015. Out on
artist's home label Elusive at the beginning of 2016 on limited 2x12" vinyl, CD and digital. This album
is another peek into Slavaki's ever-expanding chest of musical treasures that never seems to fail to
surprise.

'Sagan om Lilla Vargen' is a musical drama created by the quartet WOBZ.
Its a tale of the little wolf who is forced to move out of the woods as it is about to get renovated. The journey to the city makes for an adventure in sounds as the citys noise and stress gets intensified with lifestyle coaches and different obstacles of human interests. The members of WOBZ are active in the sound art and electronica genre.

A distant shadow of a woman with jet black stringy hair glistened through the nearby shrubbery. Was it her, or was I again lost in my own dementia How in the living world could this be I sipped on my medicine and fell into a deep sleep. I awoke days later to see her sooty eyeballs rolling over my entire body. Her Black Wings seemed to stretch over a mile wide. They ever so subtly fluttered from the slow wind that was creeping in from the north. I startled when I realized what was happening and sprung up from my chemically induced coma. The last of Public Release's single-digit records is the first from the British West Midlands' most famous DJ and producer, Mark E. This shouldn't come as a surprise. If anything, the fact it didn't happen earlier should; Mark appeared as a remixer on Jeffrey Brodsky's 2014 Public Release EP, which has earned him the status of esteemed member of the outfit's inner circle and prime candidate for an extended play of his own.

That little bit of context behind us, let's move on to the actual music that's been pressed to Sky Horn. The 12' kicks off with the titular track, an abrasive number built around a meaty, sawtoothed synth line that sits snugly atop a hypnotic beat. Happy Family's remix—Happy Family, for the uninitiated, is Eric Duncan and Justin Van Der Volgen—is a more psychedelic reimagining of the original cut that'll knock you into an exhilarating stupor. Speedy and demented, it's an explosive, tantalizing cap to the first record.

The second begins with 'Midnight Equatic,' a tense yet propulsive number that's somehow paranoid industrial, tropical disco, and prototypical synthwave all at once. The duo comprised of Dennis McNany and LCD Soundsystem's Pat Mahoney, Museum of Love, wrap the four-tracker with their remix of the song, which zeroes in on the electro component so elemental to the original and runs with it, taking it into Depeche Mode Violator territories—before making a sharp left turn and exploring the wild sounds of the early 90s UK rave scene. A final hoorah for the party that is this record.

After releases on Livity Sound sister label DnuoS YtiviL and Cold Recordings, Batu returns with his own new imprint Timedance.

The label is set to offer a platform for hybrids and mutations of UK Techno, and the first release will be launched with a party in Bristol on 20th February, where Batu is joined at the Cavern Club by Beneath and Transient.

The release showcases a progression from Batu's first two 12's, with more colour and melody than his previous work, sitting alongside waves of propulsive percussion.

For their third release, Hard Beach Entertainment dug deep into Detroit history and unearthed the enigmatic DJ SCSI whose only release to date came out in '97 on D-Bass.
Never released before, these four cuts have been fished out from DJ SCSI's own archive, uncovering some of the finest electro/ghetto house from the D. Massive!

Forte Techno is a UK label ran by Ross Alexander and Steven McDonagh that has a firm focus on championing the underground, as the imprint returns with their second vinyl only package.

VENT moves closer to its initial tenet: the love for raw and unsullied techno. Miss Sunshine returns to VENT and brings home two strikingly forceful tracks, with Cindy adding to the arsenal with her characteristic grit, and thus the circle is complete as stripped back yield of high grade techno on all cuts.

'Decadubs 5' is a vinyl-only double-pack companion to 'Hyperdub 10.4', the fourth and final CD in Hyperdub's series of collections throughout 2014 to mark the label's first decade in existence. Both 'Decadubs 5' and its full-length parental set explore the club spaces opened up by house, garage and techno, as viewed through Hyperdub's singular filters. Side 1 leads out with 'Lambeth', a long awaited previously unreleased track by Burial, with an unusually triumphant and - compared to recent extended montages - relatively direct 2step feel. This is followed by the low slung tech-garage of Kode9's 'Oh', while on the flip the whole of Side 2 is given over to the lush deep house of Cooly G's 'Love Again'. Side 3 opens with the fathoms-deep bubbling bass and synth washes of DVA's extremely psychedelic 'Monophonic Nightmare', then Dorian Concept turns in a quirky remix of Martyn's classic 'Mega Drive Generation', which originally appeared on Hyperdub's fifth anniversary compilation in 2009. Side 4 reveals another classic from the vaults in the shape of Cooly G's skeletal house cut 'Him Da Biz', and the EP comes to a close with energy levels turned up on Funkystepz's 'Vice Versa', a track much in demand since it first appeared on Kode9's 'Rinse 22' mix compilation from 2013.

Its been a hectic summer as always for MOOD boss Nicole Moudaber. Her relentless touring schedule has seen her ruling the dancefloors of every continent. On the release front she's fresh from unveiling her astonishing rework of Carl Cox's Kommen Zusammen, which has proved to be a festival favourite throughout the summer season. For her new release she returns home, for the first time since April's See You Next Tuesday ep, with the devilishly groovy The Whippin' I'm Dishin'.

Nicole's original sees her take a step back from the full throttle techno-tilt, creating a relaxed-yet-locked groove that swings throughout whilst kicking up a gear in its final third. Ramping things up in style is Gary Beck, who pairs the the primitive rolls of the bongo's against a relentless and industrial soundtrack.

The 'Taste the Difference EP' from the excellent Slidebar Records dishes up something unique where modern Techno is concerned. Axel Sohns the label founder expressed how he wants to mix up the old and new styles of Techno and give people back a sound that quite simply makes you not only want to dance and leaves you thinking 'how the fuck did they make that sound'

Dibu-Z - Pyroclastic Flow
The E.P. serves up the perfect starter. Dibu-Z's pulsing electro bass breaks into a chunky concoction of electronic murmurings and gets the EP off to a perfect start. There is never a dull moment every sound is well thought out and unique. This tune alone is worth the money for this EP. It will fill a dance floor in seconds and if it doesn't your playing at the wrong party.

TSR - Matlagningsmusik
Main course. Yet again TSR bring something deliciously funky to the table. The Deep groove is controlled until the lead synth decides to, quite simply, get up and leave and then all manner of madness prevails. At times this track leaves you thinking 'that's genius' but then what else did you expect from TSR.

Thomas Schneider - Schwarze Flut
This is dark and deep like a vintage port. The bass pulses menacingly throughout the track whilst the vocals twist and wind their way through the darkness. Turn the lights down or off and let the walls shake.

Oliver Rosemann - Murky Beer Can
For desert Oliver goes full fat with this sugar coated groove that mixes old and new styles beautifully. The groove struggles to break free but is kept in check whilst the beat pounds on but every now again the lead comes out to play. This is a perfect example of how Techno should sound.

Scott Robinson - Explain
Scott serves the bitter and black 'wake-me-up. The chopped up bass line propels the listener through a maze of industrial and mechanical bangs and clangs; if robots could party they would probably bang this track on.

To sum up, if you are sick of 'Template Techno' then this EP is for you as it breaks the formulaic mould of so much modern electronic music. You can certainly Taste the difference after this Techno Feast... simply perfect to keep you up on those hot summer nights.

Spazio Disponibile is the Italian label run by Voices From the Lake, aka Italians Donato Dozzy and Neel. It finds the pair putting out music made with their Rome party of the same name in mind. Music comes from the founders themselves, as well as guests who record in the studio in the days leading up to the party. Black country overlord Justin K Broadrick (Jesu, Godflesh) blesses Regis' Downwards fiefdom with two tracks and a tightly sprung rework by Surgeon. Downwards have really picked the foulest iterations of a grim set for vinyl release, inscribing the industrial-strength torque of Nothing Is Free - which sounds like early Kode 9 battered by Shapednoise - at 45rpm across the front face, and branding the knuckling 808 snares and distended electro bass blow out of Kontorted on its backside.
Surgeon's remix of the title tune ranks among his best in many years. Trace elements of the original are extruded thru modular kit and remodelled on a bouncing, swerving techno chassis recalling BMB and CUB classics, but streaked with sirens and vamped by a marching brass refrain that's just spoiling for war.
The release marks a long overdue overlap between Downwards' and Broadrick's interrelated industrial, noise and techno circles. Broadrick was the original drummer for Napalm Death on their Scum (1987) album, before forming the legendary Godflesh, and
carving out an oeuvre as one of the most feared and respected musicians to emerge from Birmingham and the UK ever since.

Prolific Seattle producer Jon McMillion returns to Nuearth Kitchen with another crucial chapter in his epic tale of haunted house-music subversions. This EP offers four variations on a bizarre and engrossing theme. Don't It Make You (edit 1)' is a work of extremes: By some miracle of aural physics, it's at once one of McMillion's strangest tracks and one of his most accessible. He sets into motion a staunch, relentless house rhythm bolstered with congas, massed claps, synth-bass raspberries, and a badass male singer intoning, Don't it make you feel good, if you wanna get down/Just say it, say it again,' over which a miasma of enigmatic tones bubbles and swirls. Like Bohannon's disco-funk classics from the '70s, Don't It Make You' seems like a tease, even at 10 minutes duration, you wish it would roll on for at least 30. On Don't It Make You (edit 2),' McMillion strips things down to dance-floor essentials and erases some of the free-floating background weirdness.

The two remixes are revelatory. New York house icon Fred P. (aka Black Jazz Consortium) slides the track into a tighter pair of pants, but that just makes it swivel harder and slyer. He emphasizes Don't It Make You''s mysterious drones and then loops a female vocalist singing He keeps me' while dropping in some echoed male chatter to gently disorient. What a dreamy, soulful trip Fred P. conjures here. And rising German wunderkind Orson Wells layers and pitches up the original's cascades of bleeps, which becomes the dominant motif, and then subtly modulates said bleeps over the tune's seven minutes, while keeping that irrepressible rhythm strutting. McMillion's raw materials prove to be fertile ground for these two maverick remixers to flaunt their own fascinating quirks while maintaining the original cut's club-darkening and ass-moving functionality.

The second release of No More Pop features an obscure sideproject of the famous dutch minimal synth group 'Ensemble Pittoresque'. Originally released on a promo compilation for local bands in 1984 called 'De Wassenaarse Slag', the single 'A Distant Dance' is a truly unique journey into dutch synth wave.
The composer and producer Ton Willekes and Paulus Wieland teamed up with Marga Visser for the vocals for their last creation before the final end of Ensemble Pittoresque.
Besides the original version the record also features a special rework of the original Ensemble Pittoresque Demo of 'A Distant Dance', produced by Murphy Jax. On the remix front, the silvery Celina S resang the vocals for both Keen´s and Flemming Dalum´s remixes, which are shining due to their unique , dreamy and melancholic mood.

* Blackwater starts it's third cycle with it's ninth release with an EP from London based duo, Ossa di Mare. A record that has come from the dark internal depths of a carnal energy between the two artists that make up duo, constructed around the idea of hallucinogenic experiences induced by dimethyltryptamine. Each track relates to a understanding and connection throughout the experience.The EP opens with 'Heautoscopy' A hallucination in which one see's one's own body from a distance. A very intense piece with influences from psychedelic music and pitch dark tones all well balanced with a proper veteran approach.

* On the same side '5 - MeO' follows- A chemical compound within dimethyltryptamine that let's you experience a near death sensation. Calm and relaxed pad lead through the percussive sounds in an infinite story. The B side comes with first track 'Asphyxia' -to show the dark face of the Ep. The entire piece is expressing the condition arising when the body is deprived of oxygen, causing unconsciousness or death. Claustrophobic echoes and reverberated atmospheres for five minutes of deepness. 'Hypnagogia' - Is the experience of the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep: the hypnagogic state of consciousness, during the onset of sleep. Once again the main concept of the duo dominates into instruments, all well mixed and calibrated to the end. The Ep closes with Elle's remix of 'Asphyxia'. A perfect closing track, ethereal dark loop.

- Reissue of classic 'Trackman' EP buy Mark Archer of Altern 8 - remastered from the original 1995 tapes.

Mark Archer is a long standing British electronic music veteran, with several heavily influential aliases and collaborations under his belt, the best known of which being the seminal UK hardcore act Altern 8 alongside Chris Peat. The pair also recorded as Nexus 21 on the classic Network records label. The subtle and unique blend of Detroit Techno, Acid House and UK Hardcore that Nexus 21 became known for, can also be heard in Archer's solo outings as Trackman:

''In 1995 I was asked by my good friend Neil Macey, who was incidentally one of my greatest influences DJ-wise alongside Astrix & Space, if I could do a few tracks for the first release on his new label - Ideal Trax. I asked him what kind of music the label was putting out as I'd been pretty much deep into the hardcore thing, and then working on more housey tracks as Slo Moshun, so when he said he was after something with techno, Chicago house and Acid all mixed up, Trackman was born.''

The first Trackman EP went out on Ideal Trax in 1995, a six track, two vinyl EP spanning trippy, classic Acid cuts, Detroit and Chicago influences, Sheffield Bleep and Manchester Hacienda rave era overtones. 'Trackman' has now been lovingly remastered and re-issued on Infrastructure, with a bonus track 'Paradise' included, which featured later on the 1996 'Don't Stop' EP - also a classic in it's own right.

Info: Ritual is a collective of DJs and producers from Malmö and Copenhagen. After several years of orchestrating ruthless techno nights, we have decided to turn the sweat and blood left behind on our floors into vinyl. This is the result.

Following the launch of his limited multi edition FORMAT project in February, Trevor Jackson releases a collected triple LP edition via The Vinyl Factory on the 18 May featuring 13 tracks including an exclusive bonus cut not available on any of the initial releases.

FORMAT is the first album from Trevor Jackson since his acclaimed Playgroup album back in 2001. His Output Recordings label (1996-2006) introduced the world to the likes of Four Tet & LCD Soundsystem, His recent Metal Dance compilations reinvigorated interest in early industrial and experimental electronic dance music that's clearly had a powerful influence on much of today's leftfield club music.

FORMAT's initial limited edition release in February consisted of 12 separate physical releases each featuring a different track, available on 12', 10' & 7' vinyl cd, mini CD, cassette, USB, VHS, minidisc, DAT, 8 track + Reel to Reel this was no ordinary release - it charted the legacy of the physical music format, in a characteristically beautiful and uncompromising way. An accompanying installation at The Vinyl Factory space at Brewer Street Car Park in London offered people the opportunity to listen to the album as a unique audio-visual experience.

Curated from an archive of over 150 tracks Trevor had built up over the past 2 decades, the inspiration for Jackson's music, has come from 'the times and places where genres weren't quite formed.' While his synth and beatbox workouts might touch on proto-house, on new wave, on Italo and techno, on ambient and psychedelia, they are at the same time none of these things.

Subosc Ltd is glad to announce its first release: the sublabel will feature a limited number of vinyl only releases during the year. From the musical perspective it will follow the same concept of the main label, which is focused on timeless detroit/dub techno.
Already known for his works on labels such as CLFT and Monnom Black, well received and supported by the worldwide scene, the italian artist Kaelan signs this first ep demonstrating his effort in delivering classy and timeless techno with a detail oriented attitude.On the A side, "Odissey" is an intense rhythmic techno burner filled with emotional pads, while on the B side "Displace" entails a sustained-tempo detoxifying/explorative approach, with classic and detroit influenced pads. De Civil Bellvm is the third release of the french producer on Dawn Records for which he delivers a pure techno EP to own psychedelic atmospheres of the universe of Renart. Aus follow up releases from Bwana, Sei A and Fold with the welcome return of Shenoda with his Chromatic EP. Throughout a catalogue that's included 12s for Hypercolour and Manmakemusic as well as his exceptional debut 'Labour' EP on Aus last year he has consistently and capably melded House and Techno signified by his burly drum work and long, stirring breakdowns. His 'Chromatic' EP packs in three powerful cuts with Blame, a track that drives a dense, staggered kick under blood-curdling tension and dramatic synth builds. 'Musical Mob' then follows up with scuffling drums and a bold, peak-hour synth line before 'Shores' closes up with a shimmering sound-build giving way to a dense and full bodied bass pattern.

Just 6 months after his debut release on the label, Weekend Circuit invite Alderaan back at the helm of techno. Alter ego of Buenos Aires artist Franco De Michele - already revered by some of the industry greats - presents 'Statics' / 'Golden Ratio', a manifestation of progressive and dynamic techno, with Stanislav Tolkachev taking the B side.
Hailed as one of live techno's notorious artists, Stanislav makes his first appearance on the London based imprint, presenting an abstract take of ever intense, rolling techno for the remixes. With previous releases on the likes of Semantica & M_REC LTD, Tolkachev - originally from Ukraine - comes as no newbie.
Falling through the techno paradigm, this multi-tiered EP cuts a circuitous progression of moving sounds and energy. With the embodiment and animation of life, Alderaan adds his percussive punch and whirlwind of complexity to both 'Statics' & 'Golden Ratio' on the A side. Hosting 2 tracks on side B, Stanislav bounds through with a fix of dark vitality and abstract session, cascading between light and dark.
Hyper-dynamic, pulsating sounds make these noise churning tunes absolute "must have" tools of the trade. Abrasive, energising and reliably trippy, this release is a tension building exploration of effective, outdoor environment music, putting Weekend Circuit once again at the forefront of many artists collection.

Described in typically self deprecating manner as a 'vanity imprint in the classically ornery tradition,' the Pear Growers Series is a new label from Chris Madak, best known for his mind bendingly good output as Bee Mask. The first release sees material from Madak's excellent Spectrum Spools long player When We Were Eating Unripe Pears get treated to remixes from celebrated techno artists Surgeon and Abdulla Rashim. Anyone who has heard Surgeon playing the remix on his Rinse FM show will agree that his unashamedly emotive breakbeat reworking of "The Story Of Keys & Locks" is arguably one of the simplest and most affecting remixes this year. Complementing this, Prologue and Semantica artist Abdulla Rashim delivers a take on "Unripe Pears" that will resonate with anyone that has indulged in the elusive producer's recent output on his own eponymous label.

To unearth a forgotten gem and bring it to a whole new audience is an unbeatable feeling. Label boss Gregor Tresher has been keeping his very own jewel under wraps for many weeks, but the time has come to unveil his beloved anthemic set closer.

Chymera's 'Shadowdancer' original saw a release back in 2007 and was yet another exemplary display of the Irish producer's enviable talent for creating beautiful and uplifting soundtracks. Its combination of finesse and power generated perfect dancefloor emotions and it was these that has lead to it never leaving the Break New Soil boss's record box.

"The original is one of those perfect end of night tracks that has just never left my playlists. I was always getting people coming to the booth to ask what it was..." says Gregor.

It was this response that lead to the new release. Yes, 'new' release. Chymera has revisited his original production, mixed and re-recorded the brand new 2014 version that we bring you today. Not only that, but Gregor also presents his very own rework.

"I've been working on the remix for quite some time. For me, the original is already perfect so I tried to take my mix in a different direction whilst maintaining the beautiful vibe of the original."

Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers' Tuskegee Music continues to deliver the goods behind releases from Kool D, ex-Trouw resident William Kouam Djoko and Seth himself. Now on their 6th release, Tuskegee present a new collaborative effort between The Martinez Brothers, Jesse Calosso and Phil Moffa who - operating under their new production alias 'Soundview' - piece together a tribute to Rob Fernandez.

With this being their first contribution to the label since the first release - the Martinez Brothers team up with close label friend and erudite sound technician Phil Moffa who adds to a slew of successful collaborations that have recently seen releases on Hypercolour, Plan B and The Corner. Also in on the studio session, Jesse Calasso, long-term friend of The Martinez Brothers, delivers his latest contribution to the Tuskegee catalogue following his label debut on the "Come Up" EP.

Beginning his career as a doorman at Tracks, Rob Fernandez went on to become a true stalwart of New York's scene throughout and beyond the 90's who - throughout, played a primary role in keeping the spirit and love for dance music alive in the city. Now - in keeping with the 90's indebted ethos of Tuskegee Music - Soundview present their homage to a legend in the form of the 'The Method: a 2-track EP brimming with live analogue drum work and hustling acid lines.

'Nex Legends' kicks things off with a tight, bubbling groove that glides under wildly pitched percussion and mangled vocal signals. An olio of effects drive progress forwards alongside an urgent organ stab before 'Do You Miss Brooklyn' sets a sordid acid line under freely sequenced 909 drums. A minor-key melody gently pushes through alongside trippy spoken vocals that cap off another fine addition to the Tuskegee catalogue.

This is the final release on the 6-volume Surgeon reissues label SRX, displaying the wide range of mood, pace and production style that Surgeon was experimenting with in 1995-96.

* A few words from Surgeon about the SRX series:
While searching through old DAT tapes I was shocked to find how clear and dynamic many of my early tracks sounded, not the way I remembered them from the vinyl releases. Those early tracks, recorded 20 years ago, were mastered and cut by people who had no understanding of electronic music. I actually remember cutting a dubplate back then and being asked if my track was "supposed to sound like that" The engineer was so disgusted at my music that once the cut started he left the room until it was finished.

* Although some of these releases have been repressed many times over the years, they have always been from the original plates from those early cuts; none have ever been re-mastered and recut in their original from. So I began carefully transferring everything from the original DAT tapes and working closely with Christoph Grote-Beverborg from Dubplates & Mastering in Berlin (who's been cutting my all my releases since 1996) to present this early material as it was originally intended.

* Along with the early Downwards releases, I found high-quality unreleased tracks from that time as well as releases that had only been issued in limited pressings; those too are included in this project. For the packaging I commissioned Ken Meier and Yoonjai Choi from the New York design firm Common Name to create some sumptuous sleeve art.

The opening track on this double sided GYNLTD series comes from Hironori Takahashi. 'Speclaz' displays sharp panned cymbals and sonics, underpinned by a pulsey rhythm and modulated organesque synths. The Takaaki Itoh remix is a deeper and more moody affair, albeit with a similar syncopated rhythm structure and some tasty modulated acidic synth stabs with filtered atmospherics.

On the flip-side, Myk Derill's 'Crossroads' takes a turn for a more broken industrial rhythm with looped vocal chants holding it all together before breaking down into a washed out synth breakdown, then returning to the pre-emnent fat rhythm and vocalised stabs.

Finally track 4 sees Philippe Petit remix, with the artist opting for a very stripped back 4-4 hi-hats/percussive workout underpinning minimalistic modulated synth and gentle bassy offsets. The most tooled-up track of this EP.

2000 AND ONE (aka Dylan Hermelijn) has been on the forefront of electronic dance music since the late eighties. His pioneering vision across more than two decades of music genres now ranks him as one the most versatile, in-demand international artists, commanding weekly performances on the house, techno and tech house global club and festival circuits.   
 
Not only recognized as a magnet for the clubbing crowds, he is also credited for championing the sounds of Amsterdam's new school DJ and producer generation and propelling the scene's visibility into the international club headlights with his six Amsterdam labels, of which he co-owns Bitten Records with Sandy Huner.

The clean' is a classic Olympic weightlifting' movement where the lifter moves a weighted barbell from the floor to a racked position across deltoids and clavicles. The clean' is mainly to build power and strength therefore this movement has become a popular training method in various sports to develop explosiveness and speed.

back with another album project, this time from American producer Christopher Ernst, aka L'estasi Dell'oro, who also records as Penalune and is co-founder of the Voodoo Down label. Before now, Ernst has proved himself to be adept at crafting deep and atmospheric, excellently ambient techno on a range of labels. Varying his tempos and textures, he does acid, raw stuff, tough beats and more industrial grooves. Across this new 8-track album, all this and more is explored in captivating fashion. This is an expressive and expansive modern techno album from L'estasi Dell'oro that is perfectly at home on the always interesting Field label.

L'Arbre du Ténéré, known in English as the Tree of Ténéré, was a solitary acacia that was once considered the most isolated tree on Earth, standing alone for over 400 kilometers. It was a landmark on caravan routes through the Ténéré region of the Sahara in Northeast Niger, until it was knocked down by a drunk truck driver in 1973.
Quando gli Uomini Adoravano la Luna is the follow-up to the duo's debut full length La Pelle del Fantasma (Holidays Records). Composers Maurizio Abate and Giovanni Donadini (Ottaven, Fantamatres) build a dialogue between open improvisation and armonic structures, moving from ambient soundies to a texture of soft psychedelia, trying to create a musical portrait of this special tree and its history, from the lonely past to the shape of today where a metallic sculpture replaced it.

Perc Trax is proud to announce 'Stowaway', the debut album from Ansome. A ten track collection of brutal UK electronics which marks the next significant step in a rapid rise that has seen him become a key member of Bas Mooy's Mord crew and play a constant run of hardware based live sets across Europe.

A Cornish ex-pat who now resides in south London, Kieran Whitefield is the man who puts the dark in Poldark, combining a warm persona with a deadly serious attitude to his music. Consistently changing his sound as new equipment and techniques are utilised in his studio the album mixes up the type of 5am club rippers he is known for with an exploration of more spacious and atmospheric tracks. 'Stowaway' will also be released on Perc Trax CD and download formats with a London launch party at the end of February to support its release.
